Personal Statement Of Interesting In The Bachelor Of...
Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning .
Right from my childhood I was very curious to know about the animals from a small pet like a cat to a
huge racing horse, my hidden curiosity prompted me to have a keen interest to these amazing
creatures immediately. Even when I was in my junior high school I could get little hint for the
questions through biology especially zoology. This led me to like these subjects and enabled me to
excel and pass out of high school.
I got through Science in the stream of biology for secondary school because of the immense interest
towards the living beings on this earth I narrowed down on opting for Bachelor Of Veterinary Science
as it was a great opportunity to me to show love affectionate towards the real amazing creatures of this
world I hope they are none other than animals who cannot speak but can express their feelings Which
was only possible with the rank I secured in entrance exam for graduate courses, and I was placed

Homosexuality in Television Essay
Beginning in the 1900s, American culture has significantly affected the representation of gay men,
lesbians, bisexuals and transgender characters, and the treatment of gay subject matter on television.
American culture will be defined, as the presently accepted Western American way of materialistic,
moral, ethical, and racial norms.
One of the mediums by which this cultural shift has continually happened is through television. Not
only does culture affect choices made by those in the television industry, but popular series and talk
shows, whether intentionally or not, name what culturally acceptable regarding many social issues.
Television, TV for short, is referring to the telecommunication medium by which ideas are transmitted

The main family, the Duncan s, invited their daughter s friend over for a play date. It is not until they
open the door that the main characters realize their daughter s friend has not one, but two moms. The

Having a gay couple in Duncan home seems like the most natural thing in the world; and maybe that
was the goal. Regardless, most of America was fairly taken aback. A reference to homosexuality in a
children s show like this would not have even been considered ten years ago. The secular and
Christian community response was attack and defense. Eric Sasson of the Wall Street Journal wrote
one of many articles regarding the episode, ... Disney simply wanted to reflect the reality of its
audience: there are thousands of gay families with children all across the U.S., and many of those kids
are probably tuning in to the Disney Channel. Sasson s point of defending the unintentional placement
was reciprocated by a multitude of secular reporters and writers and shows the heart of the majority of
America at the current time. American culture is accepting homosexual parents to be a completely

The, The Message Pt. 2
In 1971 at the start of Nixon s war on drugs, before the 0000s crack epidemic; before the advent of
political tactics used to demonstrify ghetto neighborhoods succeeded in bastardizing its urban youth,
Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five recorded what is considered one of the greatest urban
narratives of his time. In his rap The Message Pt. 2 Flash described the daily occurrences and harsh
realities of his ghetto life in vivid detail. Now 45 years later in the midst of black lives matter, at a
place in America where black lives must be affirmed through hashtags and protest, many are upset that
the American art people have come to rely on, to tell the stories and narrate the experiences of being
poor and black, only exist to valorize the crime, money, drugs and sex that come from being poor.
Trap Music is a sub genre of southern rap born in the South. Music heavily laden with dramatic
synths, 808s and explicit lyrics that, more often than not, glorify drugs, murder, and sex. In David

Fda And Merck
The primary ethical dilemma in this case revolves around corporate social responsibility and ethical
practices versus profitability and maximizing shareholder wealth. In this case, Merck had to decide
between profits at the center of the company s shareholders wealth, the company s image from a
corporate social responsibility perspective, and the welfare of the community. The company had a
responsibility to safely serve the public and meet the interest of all parties involved without
compromising the interests of key stakeholders. Merck s practices regarding the Vioxx debacle were
clearly designed towards generating profits, with no consideration given towards protecting the
consumer. Consequently, they stand in clear violation of the principles ... Show more content on

They could have continued to market the product, but with revised labeling to identify it was a high
risk product. Additionally, they could have issued a press release to alert the general public of the
situation and advise that Merck is committed to the safety of all patients. This would not only continue
to establish Merck s good reputation but would build trust with the doctors, patients, and stakeholders.
While it would likely decrease revenues in the short term, both the company and the general public
would benefit in the long term. Appropriate patients could continue Vioxx treatment, receiving pain
relief with potentially no GI side effects. The health and safety of high risk patients would not be
violated as they would not be appropriate for Vioxx treatment. The Merck team would continue to
have jobs, Merck s company reputation would be valued, and the stakeholders would continue to earn
revenues, rather than lawsuits. This would represent a utilitarian approach since it would provide an
ethical solution for the greater good for the greatest number of

What Makes a Monster Essay
What Makes a Monster?
Monsters are often thought of as green, abnormally large and scary. They are believed to hide in dark
shadows and forgotten street corners. Monsters have a bad reputation and the very nature of the term
monster is not smiled upon. I believe these thoughts are generic and relics of a much safer past. In our
morally bankrupt society monsters exist in the realist scariest form. As we step into adulthood and take
our heads out of the comic books that shows us the danger of the Green Goblin we must now be
alerted the real demons. Adolf Hitler killed thousands upon thousands of people. His persona and
legacy can only be thought of as sick and sadistic. Adolf Hitler did by himself what would take an

been bit by a radio active spider was now on a search to rediscover who he really is and only at the

we have a choice. Peter Parker a low income orphan, who was bullied and weak used his powers to

I would like to show you that what makes a monster is more than the struggle for power as I earlier
stated. It is the choice we make with that power whether it is given to us or taken.
In conclusion I want to provide you with a few points of clarity. Power did not make Adolf Hitler a
monster. Self love, greed, and ill convinced passion made Hitler the monster history remembers him
as. Passions gone wrong made Dr. Osborne into an actual scaly green monster he became. Passion
may have drove these men to extreme lengths, but their bad choices made them monsters. Good thing
that in every comic, movie, and history book, there is always a few Peter Parkers to save the day. You

Explain The Five Steps To Describe Baye Theorem And...
Lauren Berman Chapter 8 Biostatistics Data 1.) Describe Bayes theorem and alternative to Bayes
theorem. Bayes theorem is used to answer two different questions, If the test results are positive, what
is the probability that the patient has the disease? and If the test results are negative, what is the
probability that the patient does not have the disease (93). In the formula for Bayes theorem, the
numerator is the true positive results and the denominator tells about true positive results and false
positive results. An alternative to Bayes theorem is used in genetics (94). 2.) Explain the five steps to
setting up a decision tree. There are five steps involved in creating a decision tree. The first step is to
identify and set limits to the problem, for example whether or not the gallbladder of a person without
symptoms should be removed. The second step is to diagram the options. This can be done by starting
with the patient s current clinical status, then laying out the different options and the outcomes that
could come from each option. The third step is to obtain information on each option. In this step, the
possibility of each outcome occurring should be assessed and then the outcomes should be separated
into desirable and undesirable outcomes. The fourth step is to compare utility values and the fifth step
is to perform sensitivity analysis (97 98). 3.) Define the two different types of meta analysis. A
qualitative meta analysis is a systemic review of the literature on a particular topic (99). Different
articles on the same topic are reviewed and the results, strengths, and weaknesses of each article are
assessed. A quantitative meta analysis can be presented in two ways, either the data are analyzed as
reported in the literature, or the raw data from multiple studies are obtained and aggregated (100). 4.)
Explain the difference between independence rule, product rule, and addition rule. The independence
rule says that one probability is not influenced by the outcome of another probability (101). In this
situation, if the two probabilities are independent of each other, then the trial can be repeated twice in
a row and multiple times. The product rule is used to determine the

It is challenging to acquire strategic information technology (IT) alliances properly. Devoid of
appropriate outsourcing methods, the threat of occupational fraud escalates (Association of Certified
Fraud Examiners [ACFE], 2006). Nevertheless, companies employ outsourcing for several strategic
motivations (Bass, 2013). Outsourcing assists businesses to concentrate on core competencies,
increase performance, diminish capital investment expenses, and realize increased revenues
(Ghodeswar Vaidyanathan, 2008). Any form of fraud or corruption in the selection or management of
outsourcing arrangements is inefficacious (ACFE, 2006). Corruption schemes such as conflicts of

Do Not Text, Just Drive Essay
Texting, as of right now, is one of the most used ways of communication. But when texting is mixed
with driving, it is not the safest combination. Texting and driving should be banned in all fifty states
for all ages because texting is a privilege, not a right, it is a distraction, it is dangerous, and innocent
lives have been tremendously affected. Although cell phone usage has become extremely evolved
within this decade, it still has brought many flaws throughout our nation. One would think with the
total number of deaths and numerous accidents that the entire nation would eventually come to a
conclusion about this issue. But as of right now, twelve states prohibit all drivers from using hand held
cell phones while driving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By any means, being patient and texting someone later cannot lead to danger or death of others. Start
realizing that texting in general, is not a priority or right for anyone to do, it is simply a privilege.
Texting and driving should be banned in all fifty states because texting is a distraction that keeps
drivers away from the road. According to the book Brain Rules, while multitasking, research shows
your error rate goes up 50 percent and it takes you twice as long to do things. (Cooper) Texting
someone is nearly the same as talking on the phone, therefore, it s an ongoing conversation. But
driving is an ongoing action, excluding stop signs and stoplights as well. As a driver the main focus is
the road. In order to send a text, the cell phone has to be the main focus. For example, if a driver is at a
stop sign, receives a text, and decides to look down at the phone. The driver s eyes, hands, and focus
completely move toward the phone and not the road anymore, which is the main focus. With this
situation, there are a number of things that can go wrong. Someone can switch lanes really quickly, a
baby can walk out the street, a car could suddenly stop, etc. So any drivers, who plan on multitasking
while driving, think twice before making that decision. A lot of risks are taken by texting and driving,
but the most important risk a driver takes while texting is either life or death. When it comes to texting

Essay on Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In 1818 a novel was written that tingled people s minds and thrilled literary critics alike. Frankenstein
was an instant success and sold more copies than any book had before. The immediate success of the
book can be attributed to the spine tingling horror of the plot, and the strong embedded ethical
message. Although her name did not come originally attached to the text, Mary Shelley had written a
masterpiece that would live on for centuries.
Nearly 200 movies have been adapted from the text since the birth of Hollywood. Most recently

The book is written as a frame narrative, but this sort of presentation is almost impossible to reproduce
on screen. Robert Walton s letters to his sister, and the monster s long autobiographical narratives were
both omitted from the film for this reason. A big asset to narrative voice is the reader acquires a more
thorough impression of the charter s thoughts and feelings. Without the use of this literary tool,
Brannaugh had to rearrange scenes, add dialect where there was none before, and depend on the
superb theatrical ability of the actors.
The movie starts off very true to the text with Walton s ship becoming logged in the ice in the arctic.
Despite some minor changes, the film follows the book pretty closely until the death of Frankenstein s
mother is described. In the novel, she contracts scarlet fever after caring for Elizabeth, and died
calmly...her countenance express[ing] affection even in death (Shelley, 72). In the movie, she
collapses while dancing with Victor, and soon after dies while giving birth to his brother William. This
scene is filled with screaming, blood and gruesome images as the mother dies in a fit of pain and

The Tension Between Germany And Greece
The tension between Germany and Greece has been ongoing for years. Both countries continuously
blame each other for issues that are going on within the EU. Germany views its self as the country that
has worked hard and sacrificed a lot to become a successful country, but on the other hand there is
Greece who is viewed as lazy and irresponsible which has landed them in debt. One of the biggest
issues that Germany and Greece both have with each other is the European Union Debt crisis, and
who is to blame for this. Some look to Germany to blame because they are the most powerful
economy on the continent and they are the ones who continuously lend money out to a struggling
Greece. Then there are those who blame Greece because they keep borrowing money and they do not
have the capacity to pay back the loans that are given to them, which further entrenches them into
debt. The EU debt crisis has many factors involved, so therefore neither Greece nor Germany is whole
hardily responsible.
Not too long ago Germany was a country that was slow growing and had high unemployment rates. It
was not the powerhouse that people often associate it with being today. As of today many things on
the continent begin and end with Germany as it has become looked at as the big brother. Since
Germany has become a powerhouse in Europe many have blamed them for the economic turmoil that
different countries are going through German export performance and the sustained pressure for
moderate wage increases

Reflection On Group Therapy Reaction
Group Therapy Reaction
Thus far in the program I have had the opportunity to experience the process of group therapy.
Luckily, I have had the opportunity to run group sessions at my practicum site, so I have gained
substantial information about the group process. As I have learned in this program, group therapy is a
powerful form of therapy that allows group members to complete their therapeutic goals in a group
setting. As a therapist, I believe it is essential to experience what group process is like. For this class
assignment we were required to record a video session of a group session demonstrating skills
discussed by Yalom in our required text. This paper will serve the purpose to explore my reaction of
the experience of leading the group, reflections on the Yalom skills I incorporated, and my views on
the strengths I displayed as a leader. In addition, I will explore ways I can improve as a group leader.
From this assignment, my hope is to complete a session with tenants of Yalom, and make
improvements to my therapeutic style.
Reaction
Prior to starting the assignment, I was extremely confident in running groups because at my practicum
site I ran two education groups and one process group each day I was at my site. Going into the
assignment, I had an idea which direction I wanted to go in for the video. Being that I do not live in
California like my classmates, and I completed my work at my practicum site, finding members for
my group proved to be extremely

Censorship Is An Issue That Affects Us On A Global Scale
The loudest silence is that of censorship. An individual may feel very strongly about a subject, and
have their voice silenced by those older, or who disagree with them. Censorship is an issue that affects
us on a global scale. It ranges from issues of women s rights, to whether or not it is alright to wear
certain words or logos to school. It is something that has affected educational opportunities all over

They are censored because they bring up tough questions and school administrators feel the best
answer is to not answer them.
This is an issue as it places the government as well as the school authorities in tough positions. They
may make a decision that is not in favor of a certain group of people, and they may have to meet the
backlash that comes from their actions. Parents may respond to certain issues when they differ from
home values, or may support issues when they agree with home values. Students may stand up for
their own freedoms and values, whether that is support or revulsion on a certain issue.
Censorship can come in many shapes and forms; some may appear good on the surface, but what
underlying notions come with them? If a school chooses to ban the book Huckleberry Finn for its
usage of the N word, they may see that as a good usage of censorship. For example, a class of students
said the book Huckleberry Finn [made] them uncomfortable (McDaniel). However, the problem arises
when there comes a piece of literature that has the N word, or any other type of hurtful language,
inside of it and does not get removed from the shelves.
Cases may also come in the forms of an individual losing their job for speaking out against an issue. A
teacher was fired from his job at San Gabriel High School, when students found out about this
incident they inquired about the reason for his termination. The administration did not reply
(Tompkins). This is an issue

The Scientific Revolution And Enlightenment
The Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment, which spanned from the late 1500 s to 1700 s, shaped
today s modern world through disregarding past information and seeking answers on their own
through the scientific method and other techniques created during the Enlightenment. Newton s
Philsophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica and Diderot s Encyclopedia were both composed of
characteristics that developed this time period through the desire to understand all life, humans are
capable of understanding the Earth, and a sense of independence from not having to rely on the nobles
or church for knowledge. Newton s writings have had a profound effect on modern day science,
astronomy, physics, as well as scientific reason. His discoveries and laws set a foundation of universal
guidelines that enabled others to conduct experiments based on their own observations, while he also
explained how the natural world functioned. In his Principia he listed his set of four rules of scientific
reasoning. The four rules include: 1) we are to admit no more causes of natural things such as both
true and sufficient to explain their experiences. 2) The same natural effects must be assigned to the
same causes. 3) Qualities of bodies are to be esteemed as universal. 4) Propositions deduced from
observation of phenomena contradict them (wolframresearch). This method of reasoning set the
framework for the quest of answers during the Enlightenment. Today his four laws are known as the

Positive Role In Social Work
Social work is a practice based profession and academic discipline focusing on the principles of social
justice, human rights and equality and diversity (International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW),
2014). Furthermore, social work is a complex discipline which is underpinned by theories grounded in
social science, humanities and indigenous knowledge (IFSW, 2014). Social work has been embedded
into society as a fundamental aspect of planning person centred care for vulnerable groups (Dowling
et al, 2006). There are many schools of thought which attempt to define what constitutes a vulnerable
group within society. Richardson et al (2015) states that vulnerability arises within those individuals
who need support to address the challenges that affect their quality of life. Poverty, extremes of age,
disability, mental or physical health status and ethnicity all have the potential to contribute to
vulnerability and social exclusion of the group or individual (Joseph Rowntree Foundation, 2017). In
particular, the elderly and youths leaving care are recognised as having multiple needs and face
adversity integrating wholly into society. It is the role of the social worker to assess, plan, intervene,
implement and evaluate the care for these groups and individuals (Horner, 2009)).
Social workers play a vital role within society in supporting such people regardless of their
background. They are not only there to protect people from abuse but to also help enable individuals

Cp Snow The Two Cultures Analysis
The Two Cultures, which was originally a lecture by C.P. Snow, Shows the how Snow sees the split of
the Humanities and Sciences and how that it could harm the growth of the world. From what I have
gathered Snow believes that the world is run by those who are educated in the humanities and even
says that they are behaving like a state whose power is rapidly declining . That those who are in
command are more worried about keeping afloat than trying to expand. Snow though also show how
much he supports the disciplines and wished for the two to begin to work together more. Snow
thought that if the sciences and humanities did not work together for progress it could lead to the
doom of not only England but the entirety of western civilization.

Interlations And The Impacts Of Wind And Ocean Interactions
2.1 Wind and ocean interactions
When wind is experienced it mainly impacts the surface waters in the ocean, these waters are subject
to movement. Due to the effects of the Coriolis force air movement is deflected to the left in the
southern hemisphere. A phenomenon known as the Ekman spiral is initiated once water at the surface
begins to move. This surface movement initiates the bottom water layers to move as well to the left of
the force that is driving it. In addition, the Ekman spiral movement begins to weaken at deeper water
depths. The Ekman spiral force is directed downwards where it operates at right angles to the wind,
where in the southern hemisphere it operates to the left. Evidently the physical atmospheric
environment, the wind, interacts with the ocean altering ocean current speed and the way in which
water in its various depths are mixed together (Wanninkhof, 1992).
2.2 Circulation of the thermohaline
In addition to circulation driven by the wind in oceans there is circulation that exists due to
convection. These convection differences exist as a result of alterations in water density which differs
according to temperature and salinity adjustments present at the surface of the ocean. Downward
convection, the movement of heat energy, is administered by the size of what is known as the
thermocline which is commonly referred to as a temperature gradient. This temperature gradient can
be seen in figures 1.1 and 1.2 and it distinguishes warmer surface water from

Devil In The White City Analysis
(P) The debates are prevalent of the evil that largely takes responsible for the events occuring in the
novel Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. (CE) Erik Larson writes the novel in very simplistic
terms (DE) She walked upstairs. The day was hot. Flies rested on the wind sill. Outside yet another
train rumbled through the intersection (Larson 37). (FA) The more simplistic the writing, despite the
connotative meaning, allows for the further exploration of a deeper theme. Without the distraction of
unnecessary verbiage, the author is able to convict the theme in a shorter and more precise way.
Beyond the general use of simplistic writing technique, Larson defers back to the simple sentence
format when generating a sense of hastiness

Malnutrition Is The Most Dangerous Form Of Malnutrition
Facing challenges is inevitable, but urgent when it comes to saving lives. One must surpass the
limitations placed and search for opportunity to strengthen others who have no control over mortality.
Giving up is old news. Hearing about child hunger and doing nothing is injustice. There are victories
to find cures and treatments for severe diseases, but one must go through the battle first to achieve
such satisfaction. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition is the most
serious threat to global public health. Severe acute malnutrition is the most dangerous form of
malnutrition. Worldwide, it affects about 19 million children under the age of five years. This disease
expresses itself in two ways: wasting and oedema. Wasting is characterised as an extreme loss of
muscle, fat and tissue, forcing children to look elderly and skeletal. Oedema can spread anywhere in a
child, making him/her appear puffy, weak and lethargic. This condition can also cause skin lesions,
hepatomegaly, and alopecia. If severe acute malnutrition is left untreated, the outcome is death. This
organization took a stand to find a solution to this problem. To be able to understand the results, one
must overview the approach to this situation. The hope was to reach out to as many malnourished
children before any complications arise in the clinic. The study took place at four health centers in the
rural health district of Madarounfa, Niger. The study of the outpatient

Euphemism And Racist Language Examples
Introduction
As much as language helps to communicate, but as the same time this same language gives room for
misunderstanding and miscommunicating. The common and major barriers are these six: Cliché,
Jargon, Slang, Sexist and Racist Language, Euphemisms and Doublespeak.
Cliché, Jargon and Slang
Cliché is an overused word or phrase that has lost its originality and interest overtime. It loses its
impact on the receiver because they avoid the use of the common meaning and at the same time it
doesn t focus on the precise usage of the word or phrase.
Example: At the end of the day said during a business meeting setting might cause misunderstanding

Example: the most common Jargon we all refer to when thinking about a normal standard working job
is the famous 9 to 5 ; which stands for the standard work day.
Slang is a different way than the usual to say or express words. It´s close to jargon; it may be a freshly
invented word or a traditional one with various intent or effect.
Example: A common slang I heard about in an American TV series was how workers referred to CEO,
COO, CFO... and so on as the c level workers to refer to the high senior workers in the management.
Sexist and Racist Language, Euphemisms, Doublespeak
Sexist and racist language is a group of slangs joined together to belittle or insult people of different
groups, origin and culture. Today these languages are violation of policies and discriminatory laws.
Example: these types of slangs referred as being sexist or racist, unfortunately are present in our
everyday lives and all over the world. A common example is referred to people who travel from place

Wikipedia is a collaborative resource, which aims to be a compendium of all human knowledge. In a
serious examination of Wikipedia as a credible and valid source of information we need to place our
argument within a definable framework. As I will show information has many uses, for the purposes
of this paper I will examine the use of Wikipedia for scholarly research, the kind, which I will be
utilizing throughout the rest of my MBA program. I will be evaluating Wikipedia based on the
parameters set forth by Brenda Spatt. The credentials, Impartiality, style/tone, and currency of
Wikipedia will all be examined in this paper (Spatt 2011).

Proponents of Wikipedia might suggest that amateurs often make important contributions to fields
outside of their profession. Astronomers, Bird watchers and, Historians are often outshined by
discoveries made by Amateurs. However once the discovery is made it is the professionals who then
validate and confirm that information something that doesn t happen on Wikipedia. The might also
reference the unofficial policy of citing original sources as a way of validating the information.
Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought or research (Logan, D.W. p1)
Impartiality should be an area where Wikipedia really flourishes. With so many voices contributing to
the ultimate output individual biases and cultural perspectives would be rounded over and neutralized.
One of the five pillars Wikipedians (what contributors call themselves) are expected to follow is not
sharing unpublished results or promoting their personal theories. This sounds very noble but these are
amateurs, people who by definition are passionate about a topic. If you are so passionate about a given
subject that you donate you time and knowledge how can you be impartial even if you try. All articles
in Wikipedia should be impartial in tone and content (Logan, D.W. p2)
The elephant in the room that I haven t addressed is vandalism. In this instance vandalism refers to the

Comparing Descartes And John Locke On How Is God Related...
One of the main questions philosophers strive to fulfill happens to be How is God related to the world,
especially in causality. An increasingly popular idea was that the world and nature were like a machine
and everything worked together like a montage of parts. Disturbance again reigned from Christians
and thus came primary and secondary causality. Such as the primary cause is too wet the grass and the
secondary is the rain which in turn will make the grass wet. God is the primary cause for everything
while he works in secondary causes. Spinoza, however, sees God as a substance and He is everything.
Such as Descartes, Locke wished to determine how the human mind acquires knowledge. He believed

Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time
Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century ideas
and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. One contemporary issue
displayed in the play is a phenomenon known as helicopter parenting. According to Webster s
Dictionary, a helicopter parent is when a parent is very involved in a child s life. Parents will often put
expectations on their children to achieve certain dreams parents have of their kids. Thus, putting a
tremendous amount of anxiety and stress on their children. This idea is demonstrated throughout the
play between King Henry and Prince Hal. King Henry expects his son to act a certain way, to take his
role in the kingdom seriously and be focused on the kingdom and the duties he serves to the kingdom.
Looking at two examples from the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century
problem of parents pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King
Henry would like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and
responsible, like Hotspur. Instead, Prince Hal decides to act out and represent immature behavior with
his sidekick Falstaff. King Henry states, See riot and dishonor stain the brow of my young Harry. O,
that it could be proved that some night tripping fairy had exchanged in cradle clothes our children
where they lay, and called mine Percy, his Plantagenet! (I, I, 87 89). The King

The Future of Genetic Enhancement Essay
Genetic enhancement appears to be inevitable since technology is making a rapid turn towards genetic
enhancement. Because of this fact, concerns over how beneficial or harmful genetic enhancement
would be in the future have arisen. We, as a society, need to analyze both sides and decide for
ourselves whether we should support the progression of genetic enhancement or do everything in our
power to stall or halt it.
Genetic enhancement refers to the use of genetic engineering to modify a person s nonpathological
human traits. This concept is aimed at improving the quality of life of humans. Baylis and Robert
suggest that, using genetic enhancement, a person could make a physical alternation like increasing
muscle mass or slowing down the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Benefits from genetic enhancements are widespread. These benefits are evident in physical,
intellectual, psychological, and even moral enhancements. One of these benefits is undesired inherited
conditions which can be eliminated through genetic enhancement. Some parents believe they should
have the choice of preventing inherited diseases from being passed on from one generation to the next.
Most of these parents also want to make informed reproductive choices without outside pressures
(Iredale, Longley, Thomas, Shaw, 2006). With this physical enhancement, parents could get rid of all
the traits they are concerned about and end up with healthy, disease free children. Baylis and Robert
suggest that a physical enhancement that could be considered beneficial is reducing sleep dependence
(2004). A procrastinating undergraduate student who needs to study for a final or write a term paper
could use this enhancement for their own benefit. Military personnel could have the opportunity to
conduct more missions and with better precision if they are not sleep deprived. Surgeons would be
able to perform surgeries more frequently and with greater accuracy. As a society, reducing sleep
dependence would push us toward accomplishing more and greater objectives that otherwise would be
impossible because of the amount of time we spend sleeping. Baylis and Robert also argue that
psychological and moral enhancements could be beneficial to our society. With genetic

Catherine The Great Biography
Catherine the Great, was born on May 2, 1729, in Stettin, Prussia (now Szczecin, Poland), and became
the Russian empress in 1762. During her reign, Russia expanded its borders, made many political
reforms, increased the religious toleration, and modernized exponentially, earning her the title of
Enlightened Despot. She died on November 17, 1796 in Tsarskoye Selo, or what is now Pushkin.
Catherine, started out as a minor German princess. Her birth name was Sophie Friederike Auguste,
and she grew up in Stettin in a small feudal state called Anhalt Zebst. Her father, Christian August,
was a prince of these insignificant holdings, but he gained fame for his military service. He served as a

No finalized laws or reforms came out of the commission, but it was the first time that Russians from

progressive thoughts, rather than its actual influence on the country s standing.
A skeptic religiously, Catherine tried to diminish the power of the Orthodox Church. She had given
them the land peter had taken back, but she soon changed her mind. Catherine declared that the church
s wealth would belong to the state. To that end, she made the church part of the state, and therefor all

At the time of Catherine s coup, Russia was viewed as underdeveloped and covered in rural farms by
many in Europe. She tried to change this negative opinion through expanding and upgrading the
country s educational systems and artist export. Catherine owned a boarding school established for

organ systems, the biomechanics of which, impart the thorax a high mechanical resistance to injury,
mainly due to distinctive elastic properties of the rib and spine system supported by muscles. So,
understanding the complex mechanics of the thorax is critical for understanding the vast multiplex of
injuries sustained in various different circumstances.
Anatomy
The skeleton of the thoracic wall is formed by
the spinal column and 12 thoracic vertebrae
the sternum
12 paired ribs and costal cartilages
The sternum
It is a dagger shaped bone, which forms the anterior part of the thoracic cage and consists of three
parts.
The manubrium
The body
The xiphoid process
The ribs
The ribs run in an oblique, inferior direction from their posterior articulation to their anterior
articulation. For example, rib 2 articulates with the T2 vertebra posteriorly but with the sternal angle at
the T4 vertebral level anteriorly.
There are three types of ribs
1) True ribs
1st to 7th ribs which attach directly to the sternum through their own costal cartilages.
2) False ribs
8th to 10th ribs which are connected to the cartilage of the rib above them
3) Floating ribs
11th and 12th rib which do not connect even indirectly with the sternum
Ribs can be further classified as
1) Typical ribs 3rd to 9th.
A typical rib has a head, neck,

Northwind Company
Case Study Analysis * The Northwind Company 1.0 Overview of Situation
The Northwind Company, industry leader and national manufacturer of quality camping products, was
established by Paul Clarey in 1975. At the beginning, the company focused on importing inexpensive
sporting products and reselling them to discount retailers; then, in 1985, it manufactured a line of high
quality tents and backpacking equipment. In addition, it started to expand its distributions around the
world by increasing more products to the product line in 1990. To date, the Northwind is regarded as a
brand with high quality and dependability.
Lately, the Northwind Company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, it is only used as information, not a strategy to market its products.
4.0 Alternative Solutions * Message Strategy
When marketing agency created a message strategy, they should probe into three categories, customer
needs, competitors strategies and company s objectives. Consequently, since price is the most critical
factor for male buying motives and the most second important reason for customer brand selection;
additionally, the current objective for the company is that its message strategy should both combine
high quality brand image and good value of lawn furniture. Furthermore, the company needs to use
photography than illustration to launch lawn furniture due to the fact that the feelings of customers
about the brand can be more vital than knowledge of lawn furniture features. * Advantage: It can
efficiently satisfy both customers needs and company s objective. Moreover, good photography
advertising can affect on consumers evaluations of a brand and using emotional advertising is better
remembered than informational one. * Disadvantage: The lawn furniture savvy buyers, who focus on
practicability and utilitarian need of products, would not see the specific features from this message
strategy. Thus, the company might lose some market share. * Marketing Communication Strategy

Oral History Annotations
Lyrics Annotations Oral history happens within communities, and it gives people opportunities. To
learn about human interaction, develop a language and taking action.
Oral history can often give you a better idea about culture and people because there is less open to
interpretation than a written document. Language is one of the biggest parts of human language and
our language and communication skills would be much less advanced without our oral histories.
Speaking the information of truth and declaration, passing it down from generation to generation. Like
Griots teaching monarchies of Mali with their fabrications. A harp called the Kora a drum called the
djimbe. Entertainers, town criers, storytellers, and musicians, they all came together as custodians of
the relic. John Foley once said All corners of the the world that corner might be 200,000 years old
What about the Odyssey, that s pretty bold, that s pretty old, enrolled from the greeks what have you
been told. Over 12,000 lines of poems and stories about the fictitious Odysseus, 10 years to form but
composed orally and meant to be heard rather than read
Oral tradition is the speech of history and stories that have been passed down for generations.
Griots taught kings and queens of Mali and were storytellers, entertainers, town criers, and musicians.
The griots serve as custodians of the relic.
John Foley said that oral tradition happens in All corners of the world And oral history could

Analysis Of The Book Murtagh And Huckleberry Finn
Murtagh and Huck Finn
In great works of literature many of the same traits and characteristics appear in the main characters.
Adventure books where you find Heroes and villains in a constant struggle to thwart the others efforts
are where you could notice the reoccurring traits the most. Heroes are often very similar,
demonstrating similar strengths and weaknesses. I compare Huckleberry Finn, to Murtagh of the
Inheritance series. Although Murtagh is not the main protagonist, he is most certainly a fallen hero, in
my book once a hero always a hero. As long as they are remembered for what they were and not what
they are, a hero they will remain. I hope in time I will be able to lead you down the path of similarities
and differences between these two amazing characters and heroes. These similarities include
characters such as courage, and a desire to be what they want to be to go where they want to go.
One of the many traits these characters have in common is their stories. What they went through, and
how they were raised. Murtagh s mother died when he was young and he was raised by a father who
cared nothing for him. When his father died Murtagh was taken in by the king who was determined to
mold Murtagh into man the king thought Murtagh should be. Huck s story is almost the same. Huck s
mother died when he was young. Huck s father, Pap, was a drunk and cared nothing for Huckleberry
Finn. Pap left Huck and Huck was taken in by a woman who was determined to mold

Right from my childhood I was very curious to know about the animals from a small pet like a cat to a huge racing horse, my hidden curiosity prompted me to have a keen interest to these amazing creatures immediately. Even when I was in my junior high school I could get little hint for the questions through biology especially zoology. This led me to like these subjects and enabled me to excel and pass out of high school. I got through Science in the stream of biology for secondary school because of the immense interest towards the living beings on this earth I narrowed down on opting for Bachelor Of Veterinary Science as it was a great opportunity to me to show love affectionate towards the real amazing creatures of this world I hope they are none other than animals who cannot speak but can express their feelings Which was only possible with the rank I secured in entrance exam for graduate courses, and I was placed among the top 5% rank among 100000 students in the entrance exam for graduate courses. Homosexuality in Television Essay Beginning in the 1900s, American culture has significantly affected the representation of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender characters, and the treatment of gay subject matter on television. American culture will be defined, as the presently accepted Western American way of materialistic, moral, ethical, and racial norms. One of the mediums by which this cultural shift has continually happened is through television. Having a gay couple in Duncan home seems like the most natural thing in the world; and maybe that was the goal. Regardless, most of America was fairly taken aback. Disney simply wanted to reflect the reality of its audience: there are thousands of gay families with children all across the U.S., and many of those kids are probably tuning in to the Disney Channel. In his rap The Message Pt. 2 Flash described the daily occurrences and harsh realities of his ghetto life in vivid detail. Now 45 years later in the midst of black lives matter, at a place in America where black lives must be affirmed through hashtags and protest, many are upset that the American art people have come to rely on, to tell the stories and narrate the experiences of being poor and black, only exist to valorize the crime, money, drugs and sex that come from being poor. The company had a responsibility to safely serve the public and meet the interest of all parties involved without compromising the interests of key stakeholders. Monsters have a bad reputation and the very nature of the term monster is not smiled upon. I believe these thoughts are generic and relics of a much safer past. In our morally bankrupt society monsters exist in the realist scariest form. As we step into adulthood and take our heads out of the comic books that shows us the danger of the Green Goblin we must now be alerted the real demons. Osborne decided other wise. Using not Spiderman, but Peter Parker as my last explain I would like to show you that what makes a monster is more than the struggle for power as I earlier stated. It is the choice we make with that power whether it is given to us or taken. In conclusion I want to provide you with a few points of clarity. Power did not make Adolf Hitler a monster. Self love, greed, and ill convinced passion made Hitler the monster history remembers him as. Passions gone wrong made Dr. Osborne into an actual scaly green monster he became. • 8. Explain The Five Steps To Describe Baye Theorem And... Lauren Berman Chapter 8 Biostatistics Data 1.) Describe Bayes theorem and alternative to Bayes theorem. Bayes theorem is used to answer two different questions, If the test results are positive, what is the probability that the patient has the disease? and If the test results are negative, what is the probability that the patient does not have the disease (93). In the formula for Bayes theorem, the numerator is the true positive results and the denominator tells about true positive results and false positive results. An alternative to Bayes theorem is used in genetics (94). 2.) Explain the five steps to setting up a decision tree. There are five steps involved in creating a decision tree. The first step is to identify and set limits to the problem, for example whether or not the gallbladder of a person without symptoms should be removed. The second step is to diagram the options. This can be done by starting with the patient s current clinical status, then laying out the different options and the outcomes that could come from each option. The third step is to obtain information on each option. In this step, the possibility of each outcome occurring should be assessed and then the outcomes should be separated into desirable and undesirable outcomes. The fourth step is to compare utility values and the fifth step is to perform sensitivity analysis (97 98). 3.) Define the two different types of meta analysis. A qualitative meta analysis is a systemic review of the literature on a particular topic (99). Different articles on the same topic are reviewed and the results, strengths, and weaknesses of each article are assessed. A quantitative meta analysis can be presented in two ways, either the data are analyzed as reported in the literature, or the raw data from multiple studies are obtained and aggregated (100). 4.) Explain the difference between independence rule, product rule, and addition rule. The independence rule says that one probability is not influenced by the outcome of another probability (101). In this situation, if the two probabilities are independent of each other, then the trial can be repeated twice in a row and multiple times. The product rule is used to determine the ... As a driver the main focus is the road. In order to send a text, the cell phone has to be the main focus. For example, if a driver is at a stop sign, receives a text, and decides to look down at the phone. The driver s eyes, hands, and focus completely move toward the phone and not the road anymore, which is the main focus. With this situation, there are a number of things that can go wrong. Someone can switch lanes really quickly, a baby can walk out the street, a car could suddenly stop, etc. So any drivers, who plan on multitasking while driving, think twice before making that decision. • 14. The Tension Between Germany And Greece The tension between Germany and Greece has been ongoing for years. Both countries continuously blame each other for issues that are going on within the EU. Germany views its self as the country that has worked hard and sacrificed a lot to become a successful country, but on the other hand there is Greece who is viewed as lazy and irresponsible which has landed them in debt. One of the biggest issues that Germany and Greece both have with each other is the European Union Debt crisis, and who is to blame for this. Some look to Germany to blame because they are the most powerful economy on the continent and they are the ones who continuously lend money out to a struggling Greece. Then there are those who blame Greece because they keep borrowing money and they do not have the capacity to pay back the loans that are given to them, which further entrenches them into debt. The EU debt crisis has many factors involved, so therefore neither Greece nor Germany is whole hardily responsible. Not too long ago Germany was a country that was slow growing and had high unemployment rates. It was not the powerhouse that people often associate it with being today. The Scientific Revolution And Enlightenment The Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment, which spanned from the late 1500 s to 1700 s, shaped today s modern world through disregarding past information and seeking answers on their own through the scientific method and other techniques created during the Enlightenment. Newton s Philsophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica and Diderot s Encyclopedia were both composed of characteristics that developed this time period through the desire to understand all life, humans are capable of understanding the Earth, and a sense of independence from not having to rely on the nobles or church for knowledge. Newton s writings have had a profound effect on modern day science, astronomy, physics, as well as scientific reason. His discoveries and laws set a foundation of universal guidelines that enabled others to conduct experiments based on their own observations, while he also explained how the natural world functioned. In his Principia he listed his set of four rules of scientific reasoning. The four rules include: 1) we are to admit no more causes of natural things such as both true and sufficient to explain their experiences. 2) The same natural effects must be assigned to the same causes. 3) Qualities of bodies are to be esteemed as universal. 4) Propositions deduced from observation of phenomena contradict them (wolframresearch). Positive Role In Social Work Social work is a practice based profession and academic discipline focusing on the principles of social justice, human rights and equality and diversity (International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), 2014). Furthermore, social work is a complex discipline which is underpinned by theories grounded in social science, humanities and indigenous knowledge (IFSW, 2014). Social work has been embedded into society as a fundamental aspect of planning person centred care for vulnerable groups (Dowling et al, 2006). There are many schools of thought which attempt to define what constitutes a vulnerable group within society. Richardson et al (2015) states that vulnerability arises within those individuals who need support to address the challenges that affect their quality of life. Poverty, extremes of age, disability, mental or physical health status and ethnicity all have the potential to contribute to vulnerability and social exclusion of the group or individual (Joseph Rowntree Foundation, 2017). In particular, the elderly and youths leaving care are recognised as having multiple needs and face adversity integrating wholly into society. It is the role of the social worker to assess, plan, intervene, implement and evaluate the care for these groups and individuals (Horner, 2009)). • 28. Interlations And The Impacts Of Wind And Ocean Interactions 2.1 Wind and ocean interactions When wind is experienced it mainly impacts the surface waters in the ocean, these waters are subject to movement. Due to the effects of the Coriolis force air movement is deflected to the left in the southern hemisphere. A phenomenon known as the Ekman spiral is initiated once water at the surface begins to move. This surface movement initiates the bottom water layers to move as well to the left of the force that is driving it. In addition, the Ekman spiral movement begins to weaken at deeper water depths. The Ekman spiral force is directed downwards where it operates at right angles to the wind, where in the southern hemisphere it operates to the left. Evidently the physical atmospheric environment, the wind, interacts with the ocean altering ocean current speed and the way in which water in its various depths are mixed together (Wanninkhof, 1992). 2.2 Circulation of the thermohaline In addition to circulation driven by the wind in oceans there is circulation that exists due to convection. These convection differences exist as a result of alterations in water density which differs according to temperature and salinity adjustments present at the surface of the ocean. Downward convection, the movement of heat energy, is administered by the size of what is known as the thermocline which is commonly referred to as a temperature gradient. One must surpass the limitations placed and search for opportunity to strengthen others who have no control over mortality. Giving up is old news. Hearing about child hunger and doing nothing is injustice. There are victories to find cures and treatments for severe diseases, but one must go through the battle first to achieve such satisfaction. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition is the most serious threat to global public health. Severe acute malnutrition is the most dangerous form of malnutrition. Worldwide, it affects about 19 million children under the age of five years. This disease expresses itself in two ways: wasting and oedema. Wasting is characterised as an extreme loss of muscle, fat and tissue, forcing children to look elderly and skeletal. Oedema can spread anywhere in a child, making him/her appear puffy, weak and lethargic. This condition can also cause skin lesions, hepatomegaly, and alopecia. If severe acute malnutrition is left untreated, the outcome is death. This organization took a stand to find a solution to this problem. To be able to understand the results, one must overview the approach to this situation. The hope was to reach out to as many malnourished children before any complications arise in the clinic. • 37. Comparing Descartes And John Locke On How Is God Related... One of the main questions philosophers strive to fulfill happens to be How is God related to the world, especially in causality. An increasingly popular idea was that the world and nature were like a machine and everything worked together like a montage of parts. Disturbance again reigned from Christians and thus came primary and secondary causality. Such as the primary cause is too wet the grass and the secondary is the rain which in turn will make the grass wet. God is the primary cause for everything while he works in secondary causes. Spinoza, however, sees God as a substance and He is everything. Such as Descartes, Locke wished to determine how the human mind acquires knowledge. • 39. Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century ideas and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. One contemporary issue displayed in the play is a phenomenon known as helicopter parenting. According to Webster s Dictionary, a helicopter parent is when a parent is very involved in a child s life. Parents will often put expectations on their children to achieve certain dreams parents have of their kids. Thus, putting a tremendous amount of anxiety and stress on their children. This idea is demonstrated throughout the play between King Henry and Prince Hal. King Henry expects his son to act a certain way, to take his role in the kingdom seriously and be focused on the kingdom and the duties he serves to the kingdom. Looking at two examples from the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century problem of parents pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King Henry would like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and responsible, like Hotspur. Instead, Prince Hal decides to act out and represent immature behavior with his sidekick Falstaff. King Henry states, See riot and dishonor stain the brow of my young Harry. O, that it could be proved that some night tripping fairy had exchanged in cradle clothes our children where they lay, and called mine Percy, his Plantagenet! (I, I, 87 89). The King ... Benefits from genetic enhancements are widespread. These benefits are evident in physical, intellectual, psychological, and even moral enhancements. One of these benefits is undesired inherited conditions which can be eliminated through genetic enhancement. Some parents believe they should have the choice of preventing inherited diseases from being passed on from one generation to the next. Most of these parents also want to make informed reproductive choices without outside pressures (Iredale, Longley, Thomas, Shaw, 2006). With this physical enhancement, parents could get rid of all the traits they are concerned about and end up with healthy, disease free children. Baylis and Robert suggest that a physical enhancement that could be considered beneficial is reducing sleep dependence (2004). A procrastinating undergraduate student who needs to study for a final or write a term paper could use this enhancement for their own benefit. Military personnel could have the opportunity to conduct more missions and with better precision if they are not sleep deprived. Surgeons would be able to perform surgeries more frequently and with greater accuracy. As a society, reducing sleep dependence would push us toward accomplishing more and greater objectives that otherwise would be impossible because of the amount of time we spend sleeping. Baylis and Robert also argue that psychological and moral enhancements could be beneficial to our society. With genetic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Heroes are often very similar, demonstrating similar strengths and weaknesses. I compare Huckleberry Finn, to Murtagh of the Inheritance series.
