Energy Security in the Asia Pacific Region
ENERGY SECURITY IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION To meet China s fast rising energy demands,
Chinese leaders exerted great effort with a market oriented approach and a state centered approach.
The market oriented approach look for energy safety by better assimilation of national and
international markets ...state intervention would be restricted to the dispersal of data in a multilateral
context, the help of innovation, and, for few management of a strategic oil reserve which would be
applied in case of fleeting supply interruption. In contrast, the state centered approach is based upon
neo mercantilist a thought that relies on bilateral diplomatic contacts with oil producing countries to
strengthen energy security by the use of national resource and state owned enterprise investments in
overseas energy resources and firm control of exports and imports of energy products. Though market
oriented economic change has been the way of post Mao reforms, the market oriented approach has
not increased momentum in the energy division because the Chinese leadership has mull over China s
energy security tactically too significant to be left to market forces alone . Taking over offices in 2002,
President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao decided that securing unwavering supplies of petroleum
and added scare resources was not merely critical to maintained economic development, but also
essential to China s national security . Within 2003, Premier Wen Jiabao made official a seven small

The Purple Land By Jake Barnes And Robert Cohn
This passage is important to the book because it helps to explain Robert Cohn, how Jake Barnes see s
Robert, and it s a cliffhanger for events to come. The first and second chapter go into a lot of detail
over Robert Cohn but this passage especially was put in the novel for a reason. This passage basically
says that Robert is looking for direction, he doesn t know what to do with his life, and he has turned to
this book, The Purple Land , for help. It also shows how Jake Barnes see s Robert, Jake knows that
Robert has been obsessing with this book and he knows that wherever this leads him to it is not going
to be good. The Purple Land is a fiction book that talks of romance and adventure but does not
necessarily have a happy ending. Ernest

The Divine Comedy By Dante Aleghiri
Dante Aleghiri s Divine Comedy is widely taught and written about. In it Dante, the author, details his
trip through Hell, Purgatory, and then Paradise. The Divine Comedy was written during Dante s exile
from his beloved city of Florence Italy. The work itself is read at various different levels. One could
read it as a theological work, a political work, simply as a poetic work, or even as a philosophical
work. In his work, Dante s Paradiso: No Human Beings Allowed philosophy professor Bruce Silver
argues that, Dante is not a philosopher, instead he just deals with philosophical issues, including the
relation between reasoning well and happiness. Dr. Jason Aleksander, the philosophy department chair
at Saint Xavier s University, would disagree, stating, In short, for Dante, wisdom, the body of
philosophy, results from the proper ordering of earthly desires or, in other words, from the order
among the moral virtues. Aleksander sees Dante as a philosopher tackling philosophical issues and
because he takes that stance he interprets Dante differently than Silver does. Though both see Dante s
work as philosophical they take differing stances on certain points and actually tackle the work in two
different ways. Silver makes concise arguments towards Dante trying to deal with the balance between
reason and faith. He specifically talks about, the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Silver
uses several different philosophers to prove his point,

Compare Contrast Essay
Technology Creating a Better World? Advancements in technology are supposed to make our lives
easier. The time it takes for us to travel to another destination continues to shorten. Computers
continue to advance at a rapid pace. Communicating with family and friends from another country has
become easier than ever. It would seem as if everything is perfect. However, that is not the case at all.
The irony of it all is that inventions that were supposed to make us connected to people close to us
have actually had the opposite effect. Devices such as mobile phones, tablets, television, and laptops
are just a few inventions that have us obsessed over them during our free time. With the advent of

Members of society have been so entranced with keeping in touch with everyone, that we often
neglect the people closest to us. We would rather post pictures, write comments, and video chat with
other people than our own family members (Wallis 14). In addition to the obsession over cyber space
connection, the bond from sharing quality time with your family seems like a distant thing in the past.
The bond that the internet provides is superficial compared to the one a person can build with people.
Wallis best describes this when she says If you re IMing four friends while watching That 70s Show, it
s not the same as sitting on the couch with your buddies or your sisters and watching the show
together (Wallis 18). Turkle explains this by stating We ve become accustomed to a new way of being
alone together. Technology enabled, we are able to be with one another, and also elsewhere, connected
to wherever we want to be (Turkle 4). Technology has given people a false sense of being together
when they are really not. Another common theme that the two essays share is that technology and
social media has made us less patient. Turkle attributes this due to the lack of face to face
conversations. She argues Face to face conversation unfolds slowly. It teaches patience. When we
communicate on our digital devices, we learn different habits...we start to expect faster responses

Essay On Spanking
Parents have the privilege and responsibility of shaping their child s behavior in a positive direction.
To help teach children to be responsible and less destructive, most parents use spanking as a way to
correct the child. Parents who oppose spanking suppose that spankings can lead to physical abuse.
Many parents believe that they should not discipline their children by spanking; however, spanking for
disciplinary measure is a necessary teachable moment for children.
Corporal punishment is using physical pain in response to behavior that has been deemed
inappropriate. The AAP defines spanking as striking a child with an open hand on the buttocks or
extremities with the intention of modifying behavior without causing physical injury (Jones ... Show

They will accept their punishment and comply in a short amount of time ( 10 Prevailing Pros... 1 2). A
child will respect authority when they know every wrongdoing gets some kind of physical
consequence, and the child will not repeat bad behaviors by reinforcement (1). A mother remembers
fearing the paddle, which she says is a good thing. When the crime meets the punishment, she feels
that there would be fewer bad children if more parents did spank. In one year, ninety four percent of
three and four year olds have been spanked. Seventy four percent of mothers think spanking is alright
for kids one to three (O Callaghan 1). Compared to non parents, parents view physical punishment as
more common than people without children (Marcus 2 3). Majority of the population thinks that
spanking is barbaric basing it off of abuses rather than the biblical model. Many parents who think
that way have problems at home including conflicts all the time, loss of control, and no way to fix the
problems. Since opposers buy into the stereotypical model of spanking where out of control parents
and religious extremists beat children instead of disciplining them, they reject the entire idea. Because
parents do not know how to spank, they think spanking should not be done at all (Ingram 3), but The
Bible never implies that the rod of discipline should be violent

The Blind Side Movie Analysis
The movie The Blind Side came out in 2009, written and directed by John Lee Hancock. This movie is
based off a true story that has a lot of great lessons with in its. There are quite a few famous people
within the movie starting off with one of the main charters Sandra Bullock, and even the likes of Tim
McGraw and Kathy Bates. The movie deals with several different issues including race and parental
involvement to point out two. This movie has a great deal of football and family which is why it
helped Sandra Bullock win so many awards including an Oscar for Best Performance by and Actress
in a Leading Role, a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, and even
as a whole movie in 2010 won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie: Drama. This was my first
time seeing The Blind Side, it was always talked highly about, but I just never seemed to get a chance
to watch it. I believe I enjoyed waiting it out now even more. When this first came out I wouldn t be
able to connect to it as much as I can now, seeing the struggle, the racial issues, and unofficial parental
support really made this interesting. College really opened my eyes into this world and showed me
how culturally unaware I was. I now work with a lot of underprivileged kids and hear stories from
some of the young kids and how they really don t have any plans for the future, or how they basically
feel as if they are rising themselves. I now feel more motivated to step up and help them like

Developing Wireless Communications to Space Essay
A big potential problem in the future is developing a wireless communications network in outer space.
In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these
problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one
being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and
from astronauts to rovers to space stations.
The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It is
called the Interplanetary Internet. As of now it is an array of floating nodes or satellites scattered
around in space that can communicate with each other. In the future a ... Show more content on

On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the
average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks
to your iPod.
In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites
will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will
have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet
switched network.
Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of
these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment,
will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP
protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing
packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of
delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back
on earth there will be gateways to translate.
Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top
speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty
unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution

Why Animals Die Is Vital For Understand The Population
Summary
Statistics regarding The time and place of when Animals die is vital to understand the population
pronouncement. During migratory periods like winter, breeding, and also during migratory, the when
and where animals die is important for us to understand population regulations. In migratory animals,
mortality may prevail not only during the stationary periods but can also happen during the
migrational seasons. But, the relative significance of population limiting factors during different
periods of the year remains poorly understood, and previous studies mainly relied on indirect
evidence.
Here, we provide direct evidence about when and where migrants die by identifying cases of
confirmed and probable deaths in three species of long distance migratory raptors tracked by satellite
telemetry.
We show that mortality rate was about six times higher during migration seasons than during
stationary periods. However, total mortality was surprisingly similar between periods, which can be
explained by the fact that risky migration periods are shorter than safer stationary periods.
Nevertheless, more than half of the annual mortality occurred during migration. We also found
spatiotemporal patterns in mortality: spring mortality occurred mainly in Africa in association with the
crossing of the Sahara desert, while most mortality during autumn took place in Europe.
Our results strongly suggest that events during the migration seasons have an important impact on the
population

Regenerative Brayton Cycle Analysis

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this design project was to investigate the effect of various design and operating
parameters on the thermal efficiency, net work output per unit mass, and back work ratio of a
regenerative Brayton cycle. Specifically, these parameters include the pressure ratio, TminTmax ratio,
regenerator effectiveness, and compressor and turbine efficiencies, assuming the working fluid to be
air at 100kPa and 300K at the compressor inlet. Model calculations are presented ... Show more

Due to their low overall thermal efficiencies, gas turbines initially had limited uses. As time has
passed, many renovations have been implemented to the gas turbine cycle to make it more efficient.
Some modifications include: increasing the turbine inlet temperatures, increasing the efficiencies of
turbo machinery components, and adding modifications to the basic cycle. In contrast to the ideal
cycle, the actual cycle undergoes unavoidable pressure drops during the heat addition and heat
rejection processes. In addition, the actual work input to the compressor is always more than the
output and the actual work output of the turbine is less than the work input due to irreversibility. These
relationships are displayed in the figures below:
Four other common modifications to the simple ideal and actual Brayton cycles include: 1)
Regeneration 2) Reheat 3) Intercooling 4) Regeneration with Reheat and Intercooling
The only methods amongst these choices that improve the overall thermal efficiency of the ideal
Brayton cycle are those that utilize regeneration. However, each of these four improvements also
increase the initial cost of building the equipment as well as the maintenance cost for the cycle. Thus,
deciding which power cycle to build depends on economics as much as it depends on engineering.

Ephedrine and It s Effect on Weight Loss
The Dilemma
It is dilemma that affects the world over, its scope nothing short of the earth s 25,000 mile

it can affect every aspect of our lives, driving many even to suicide. Few, if any, are naturally

In countries, such as the United States, weight control is a common, yet, dire issue. Especially, in a

Alone, ephedrine is a very powerful amphetamine like compound. However, as Mark Blumenthal

Transcendentalism and Deep Ecology
Transcendentalism has been linked to the birth of deep ecology, given the emotion and spiritual
philosophy that connects the two movements. Both transcendentalism and deep ecology romanticize
the natural world, and critique the way industrialization, modernization, and urbanization encroach on
ecological and spiritual purity. The eco centric worldview and value system espoused by deep ecology
has its roots in transcendentalism (Hicks, n.d.). Both transcendentalists and deep ecologists disparage
the ways individuals, communities, and whole cultures present the human being as being entitled to
rape and plunder the earth.
However critical they were of human activity and stupidity, the transcendentalists were not
misanthropes. The transcendentalists advocated for a better world, one that discarded ineffective and
corrupt forms of government in favor of a more just and egalitarian society. All were abolitionists, in
an era where slavery and sexism were both normative. Emerson advocated material and spiritual self
reliance over philanthropy as a means of self empowerment. He also criticized traditional types of
philanthropy as having a certain air of quackery, (Emerson, 1842). Philanthropy is often used as an
excuse to avoid doing the real work of transforming the self and the society, according to Emerson.
Thoreau promoted political activism in a more direct way than Emerson. In Civil Disobedience,
Thoreau advocated various forms of civil disobedience as a means of

Taking a Look at The New Deal
The New Deal was one of the most influential government policies in American History, proposed by
New Dealers led by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, one of the most legendary presidents in American
history, famous for his leadership during two of the most disastrous events in the history: the Great
Depression and World War II. As a controversial government policy, some historians argue that the
New Deal was radical while others maintain that it was conservative. The New Deal was radical at its
time, but from today s point of view, it was still somewhat conservative.
The New Deal was radical
The New Deal was radical in that it greatly increased the power of the executive branch, greatly
increased the federal budget, and started governmental interference of the economy. It gave FDR the
power to regulate US banking system and business system. Its various programs directly provided
help to the majority while creating a lot of jobs as well as housing for them. It set up the safety net for
the majority of American people with policies such as Social Security.
Banking and finance regulation
The New Deal was economically radical; it gave the government a lot of power to regulate the
banking system and finance system. The Glass Steagall Banking Act of 1933 and the Emergency
Banking Act of 1933 were among the first the New Deal policies. Both acts were aimed to regulate the
banking system and to restore people s faith in banks. The Emergency Banking Act gave the secretary

Goal Of Corrections Essay
With our prison being for criminals that would normally get the death penalty but it is not legal in the
respected state that our prison is in we have different goals than a normal prison. Since our prisoners
are not expected to return back to society there will be little work done to rehabilitate them. The main
goal of corrections is, to carry out the criminal sentence. (Clear, Cole, Resisig, 2016.). Our prisons
goal is the same only because our prisoners aren t expected to leave, every goal of ours branches off of
that idea. The focus will be on keeping them contained and make sure there are no riots that would

certain things that your normal correction facility wouldn t have. To reach this goal we will have
underwater guards that will be armed with underwater weapons such as the, M1 underwater defense

Similar to how girls in their teen years and twenties dream to look like the bikini model in magazines,
men look at Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson in Conan The Barbarian and Mad Max 2: The

the scene where Conan and his ally invade Tulsa s palace and defeat his army to rescue the princess
(Conan The Barbarian) is directed to the male gaze as the masculine action of this scene is more
appealing to the male gender. Similar, the scene where Max fights through his injuries and leads the
pure faction to freedom, fighting off the scavengers almost single handedly (Mad Max), strongly
attracts the male gaze as it has very masculine actions that the male gender wishes they could

Rapper Lupe Fiasco And Vocalist Skylar Grey
The song I chose for this analysis is words I never said by rapper Lupe Fiasco and vocalist Skylar
Grey. The song was recorded in late 2010 but was later released on February 8, 2011. It ranked 89th
on the billboards 100 at the time of its released. It was not as high ranked as other songs in it genre but
I served its purpose in my opinion. In some aspects it was infamous for its out of the bod views on the
American president, foreign policy, etc. unfortunately this song hasn t been included in any shows or
films that I know of, but according to Wikipedia, the song was used as a theme song for the internet
hacker group Anonymous. This song was Lupe Fiascos way of expressing his dislike of the current
United States government. He uses many controversial subjects like terrorism and foreign policy to
get his point across. By doing so he shows his listeners the corruptness of the country. For example in
his song he states crooked banks around the world would gladly give a loan today, so if you ever miss
a payment they can take your home away. (Fiasco) in this part of his song, he explains to us how
corrupt banks scheme to make a quick profit at the expense of one of their customers who can t afford
it. The song was written as a wakeup call for the people. Lupe has realized that people have the power
to say what they want but are silenced by the government. He tries to show this to the people in the
choirs with the phrase, it s so loud inside my head, with

I Had A Shock At The Atm Essay
While traveling recently, I had a rude shock at the ATM. Due to insufficient funds, the bank wouldn t
allow me to withdraw money. I walked to another bank and tried my ATM card again. Again it was
rejected. Now I was worried. Some ATMs seemed to have trouble with my bank card, but I had never
been rejected by two banks in a row. And when a third ATM wouldn t disperse money, I knew
something was seriously wrong. I returned to the hotel where I was staying and used their computer to
log on to my bank s website. From there I could access my accounts, and I discovered that my
checking account had been siphoned dry. I sat there, almost dazed looking at the screen. I was in the
middle of Patagonia, and I had been the victim of fraud. I still had several weeks of vacation left how
would I get by? And how would I get back to the United States? How did it happen? After I had gotten
my breath back, I started to think. I reviewed my account history and put some pieces together. I soon
understood how my account information had been stolen. Several weeks before, I had made a
transaction via PayPal. I had done this in an internet café, on a computer that must have had a
keystroke recorder program installed on it. My passwords had been stolen and my PayPal account had
been accessed by a third party. Worst of all, my PayPal account was directly linked to my bank
account, and the perpetrator had simply drained my bank account into my own PayPal account and

Another strong advantage for us could be the aspect of environmentalism. We could use eco friendly
and healthier cleaning products, which will not intoxicate the air within the homes in addition to
biodegradable supplies. A source that we used is Gain New Perspectives in Improving Guidelines and
Practices , by Chinnes (2006) who speaks about different product materials and disinfectants. Which
would apply very well to our cleaning service. However, we felt the two sources we picked, best fitted

forces all together are known as the macro environment. The macro environment is split into six
categories of forces: demography, economics, natural, technological, political and cultural.
Demographic Forces The demographic force is controlled by human populations in terms of different
subgroups; size, age, gender, occupation, location and density. The reason this is of such importance to

Blake s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Essay
Blake s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell
The Nature of my Work is Visionary or Imaginative; it is an Endeavor to Restore what the Ancients
calld the Golden Age. William Blake (Johnson/Grant,xxiv).
William Blake completed the manuscript of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, as well as the twenty
five accompanying engraved plates, in 1792. In the sense that the The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is
a vision of a particular version of reality, it subscribes to one definition of the mythic, but also fulfills
another as Birenbaum writes in Tragedy and Innocence: ...on a more specialized level... true myth
...suggests a penentration to the essential nature of human experience, made by conspicuously
violating features ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blake uses traditional symbols of angels and devils, animal imagery, and especially images of fire and
flame to: 1) set up a dual world, a confrontation of opposites or contraries which illustrate how the
rules of Reason and Religion repress and pervert the basic creative energy of humanity, 2) argues for
apocalyptic transformation of the self through the radical regeneration of each person s own power to
imagine (Johnson/Grant, xxiv), and 3) reconstructs Man in a new image, a fully realized Man who is
both rational and imaginative, partaking of his divinity through creativity. The form of the poem
consists of The Argument, expositions on his concepts of the contraries and of expanded perception
which are both interspersed with Memorable Fancies that explicate and enlarge on his expositions, and
concludes with A Song of Liberty, a prophecy of a future heaven on earth.
Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and
Repulsion, reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are
necessary to Human existence.
From these contraries spring what the religious call
Good Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason.
Evil is the active springing from Energy.
Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell.
(MHH, pp. 66 7)
One of the main themes of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is the confrontation of the grand
oppositions of orthodox Christian doctrine: Heaven and Hell, good and evil,

Examples Of Conformity In The Outsiders
The humans nature is always following other people without thinking. People are afraid to be different
from others. When some people or some groups of people trying to be unique and different like the
Hippies people will think they are disgusted. This is because power of conformity is very strong in the
society. In every big city or even small town influence of the conformity were shown up. In The
Outsiders, conformity is everywhere in this small town which is located in the south of U.S. Tulsa,
Oklahoma. In this story are all about Greasers and Socials. The conformity in this story is showed up
by the symbols that are described personality and social class of the characters in the story. In this
story the conformity shows up mostly by the symbol. The blue Mustang in the story is a symbol that
represents the Socials. In the story the blue Mustang describes the dangerous to the greasers but lastly

Free Community College Should Be Free
Free is a word with a powerful appeal. And right now it s being tossed around a lot, followed by
another word: college. (Kamenetz). The debate surrounding free community college for all is
becoming rather controversial. Since there has been no law set in place federally some states are
taking aim. Washington has a scholarship program called Washington Promise that supports what this
act is all for. As the world continues to flatten, it seems the only way to compete in the globalized
economy is by higher education. Even though the funding is large, the first two years of community
college should be free to all. The Washington Promise, a scholarship program in place to provide
scholarships to high school seniors who graduate from a Washington high school, is a way to help
students in the Yakima Valley attend college and graduate with an A.A degree which helps stress the
importance of liberal arts, and help decrease what Thomas Freidman, the author of The World is Flat,
calls the education gap at the bottom.
Although I believe the first two years of community college should be free to all; many people would
disagree. One of the biggest controversies surrounding the issue of free community college is the
enormous cost it comes with and how it will be funded. According to Emily Deruy, the author of the
article The Debate over Free Community College, The chances of community colleges nationwide
becoming free are slim. The White House has said it would cost the federal

What Is The Theme Of Black Mod By Rosália De Castro
Analysis of the Poem Black Mood by Rosália De Castro According to the Columbia Encyclopedia,
Mariá Rosália De Castro was a very important representative of the Galician poetry romanticism and
if we add the fact that she was a women and a mother of seven children, one would expect her poems
to be gentile and delicate (PoemHunter.com). However, the choice of words and the emotions that
these words create in a reader are powerful, sad, mysterious and overwhelming. There is a certain
degree of heaviness, darkness and sadness that echoes throughout the whole song. The only softness in
this song is the one that is produced by the sounds of the words. In the original song it is the soft
rolling of the characteristic Spanish (Galician) R sombra, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She wrote some powerful and emotionally charged poems without the necessity of using the end
rhyme. As Girardo said, she made quite of contribution to Spanish and Galician literature her soft and
melancholic words, enriched by the crescendo rhythm patterns and a simple assonance rhyme make
her audience tremble while reading her poems (Oram, 96). She was opened enough to see that even
the death was not an obstacle to feel and express her deep feelings of love and devotion for her son.
Rosália De Castro thought that the life would be empty if we adhered to the logical reasoning only. It
is love that is able to transcendent all the physical barriers and makes us strong enough to cope with
the harsh reality. Although Gerarld Brenan was close to call Rosália De Castro a hysterical women,
because of her tendency to leave no space for a reader to rest/pause for even a bit between her lines
and her overall propensity to go from one extreme emotion state to another, we can, nevertheless
conclude that she left quite an impression on him too enough of impression to write about her poetry

Background Information Of The Reformation And Definition
Background Information of the Reformation and Definition
The Protestant Reformation, known simply as The Reformation, began in 1517 with Martin Luther s
publication of the 95 Theses. Major players in this pivotal point in European history included
Christian humanists such as Desiderius Erasmus, the Kings of France and England, the Holy Roman
Emperors and at the center of it all; the Catholic Church. Luther s publication of the 95 Theses, its
rapid dissemination due to the technological advance of the printing press (1440), and a European
population of lay Christians, Royalty, and Clergy alike primed to take on the excess and singular
religious hold of the Catholic Church, created a firestorm of change that swept throughout Europe and
significantly changed the practices of the Catholic Church. According to a current publication of
PBS.org, Martin Luther plunged a knife into the heart of an empire that had ruled for a thousand years,
and set in motion a train of revolution, war and conflict that would reshape Western civilization, and
lift it out of the Dark Ages.
Desiderius Erasmus (1466 1563) was a Dutch born scholar who actively supported the Northern
Renaissance philosophy of Christian Humanism. Christian Humanism emphasized human dignity,
beauty, and potential, and reacted against the religious authoritarianism of the Catholic Church by
using the principles of classical learning to focus on biblical studies, theology, and the importance of

Essay On If I Were President
If I Were President
Introduction
Raising NASA s budget could change the future for the entire population of Earth. If I were to be
president, I would bump up NASA s finances to help them find more planets in outer space. More
money would allow NASA to try to find new species that have never been seen before. Also, if a new
planet is found that could inhabit humans and other species, then maybe we could send criminals
there. Then here on Earth, we would have a more peaceful life. NASA needs more money that can
help pay for more useful and newer technology to find another planet. Bringing up NASA s budget
could lead to marvelous studies and programs. For example, we would be able to find new species that
have never been seen before. Another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sending Criminals to A Different Planet
The second switch I would make would be to lift up NASA s funds to discover other planets where we
could send criminals. Thus, by doing this it could make our nation more peaceful. By sending
criminals away to a different planet we would not need jails. This could lead to more housing,
playgrounds, even a place for more buildings to help get jobs to unemployed people. Additionally, we
could send people to another planet if they intend to do crummy and sinful things to people and
animals. If we are able to get all malicious people off of Earth, then we would not have to worry about
being hurt by the stranger next to us. Living our lives without worrying about being hurt or killed
could change the way people live their lives. This would be an effective change that I would make if I
were to be President.
New Planet Found
Above all, the third adjustment that would happen if NASA s budget was raised, would result in
making newer and more efficient technology to help them find a new planet. Recently, at NASA s
Space Telescope, astronomers had found the first Earth size planet orbiting a star in the habitable zone.
While planets had been found before, they are all at least 40 percent larger in size than Earth and
understanding their makeup is challenging. The new planet orbits its star once every 130 days and can

Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald deals on one level with Jay Gatsby s hopes and dreams, but
on a deeper level also deals with the Great American Dream. The novel starts and ends with a
reference to the green light at the end of the dock, indicating an important symbolism. The first time
Nick catches sight of Jay Gatsby, Gatsby stretched his arms towards the dark water [...] [Nick]
distinguished nothing except a single green light [...] that might have been at the end of a dock.
(Fitzgerald 2000:25). Fitzgerald ends the novel by again referring to the green light at the end of Daisy
s dock. (171).
The protagonist of the novel is Jay Gatsby, a wealthy young man from the Midwest, who has moved
to the New York in the East to pursue his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The green light at the end of Daisy s dock also symbolises the inability to control time, the
irretrievability of the past and the futility of trying to recreate the past, despite Gatsby s belief to the
contrary. When Nick asserts that one can t repeat the past, he exclaims: Can t repeat the past? [...] Why
of course you can! (106). Gatsby naively believes that Daisy can erase the past by simply telling Tom
that she never loved him. He tells Nick that [he s] going to fix everything the way it was before (106)
and that he and Daisy would be married from her house just as if it were five years ago. (106).
The similarity between Gatsby s dream and the Great American dream is a central theme of the novel.
People pursue their dreams, regardless of the cost to themselves and others, with little regard for the
attainability and reality of the dream. In Gatsby s case, his dream eventually costs him his life.
Similarly, the singleminded pursuit of wealth and pleasure eventually costs people their lives, if not in
the literal sense, then in the moral sense.

What Is Paley s Design Argument
This is the second argument about God s existence. Perhaps the most popular variant owed to this this
argument is William Paley s argument concerning the watch. Essentially, this argument states that
after observing a watch, together with its intricate parts, which function together as a unit in an
accurate manner to keep time, anybody must realize that such piece of machinery has its creator, as it
is too complicated to have easily come into presence through other means, like evolution (Ratzsch,
2005). The following is a skeleton of this argument: Human artifacts are items resulting from
intelligent design and such artifacts have an aim. Universes appear like these human artifacts. Hence:
it is likely that the universe is an outcome of intelligent design and has an aim. However, the universe
is both gigantic and complex than an artifact made by a human. Therefore, there is likelihood that a
powerful and a vastly intelligent designer created the universe. ... Show more content on

Artifacts like watches are the items of intelligent design and so, organisms are also things of
intelligent design. Hume stated that things that can be compared to arguments are few. He noted that
watches are not identical to living things and hence deduced that Paley s argument is extremely feeble.
This is another kind of criticism in which Hume fails. This is because the local design argument of
Paley is good comprehended not as an analogical argument but rather as adductive argument (which is
the best explained argument). Thus, it must not be examined on the basis of similarity of watches
(analog) to living organisms (the target), but rather by the way of surprise principle. Surprise principle
states that design hypothesis is good warranted as compared to Random Hypothesis. This allegation is
not impacted by the fact that the organisms are different to other things. Thus Hume s criticism misses

Garage Door Sensors Research
How To Fix Your Garage Door Sensors And Make Simple Repairs
If your garage door isn t working, one cause could be the safety sensors near the bottom of the door.
One sensor sends a beam to the other one as a safety measure. If the beam is broken, it might mean a
person or a pet is under the door, so the door won t operate. The problem is the sensors could get dirty
or short out, and that keeps your door from working. Here s how to check and repair them.
Check The Indicator Lights
Locate the sensors by looking near the bottom of your garage door track. There is one on each side of
the door. Each one has a tiny LED light that indicates it is operational. The sensor that sends the beam
usually has a red light and the one that receives the beam has a green light. If they are working okay,
the lights should be shining steadily. If the light on one or both is blinking or not shining at all, it s a
signal something is wrong.

As seen in exhibit 11 if we add MCD to our portfolio and solve for without short selling we can see
that the efficient frontier moved to the left. In other words it improved. This is due to diversification.
By the same intuition, as seen in exhibit 12, if we add LMT to our portfolio efficient frontier improved
even further. To see the difference, we can check exhibit 12.The reason that adding LMT improved
efficient frontier even further is because of the fact that while MCD has positive correlation as seen in
the correlation matrix ,in exhibit 1 whereas LMT is negatively correlated leading to more reduction in
the risk of the portfolio due to diversification. Due to the point where the curves intersect (the point
when expected return is between 1.5 and 1.75) the portfolios including LMT are more efficient until
expected return is 1.75 whereas after the point the portfolios with MCD become more efficient if
expected return is equal to higher than 1.75.This may be due to the marginal diminishing returns that
reverse the marginal utility the portfolio gains by increasing expected return. Up to that point if we

  • 2. Energy Security in the Asia Pacific Region ENERGY SECURITY IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION To meet China s fast rising energy demands, Chinese leaders exerted great effort with a market oriented approach and a state centered approach. The market oriented approach look for energy safety by better assimilation of national and international markets ...state intervention would be restricted to the dispersal of data in a multilateral context, the help of innovation, and, for few management of a strategic oil reserve which would be applied in case of fleeting supply interruption. In contrast, the state centered approach is based upon neo mercantilist a thought that relies on bilateral diplomatic contacts with oil producing countries to strengthen energy security by the use of national resource and state owned enterprise investments in overseas energy resources and firm control of exports and imports of energy products. Though market oriented economic change has been the way of post Mao reforms, the market oriented approach has not increased momentum in the energy division because the Chinese leadership has mull over China s energy security tactically too significant to be left to market forces alone . Taking over offices in 2002, President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao decided that securing unwavering supplies of petroleum and added scare resources was not merely critical to maintained economic development, but also essential to China s national security . • 3. The Purple Land By Jake Barnes And Robert Cohn This passage is important to the book because it helps to explain Robert Cohn, how Jake Barnes see s Robert, and it s a cliffhanger for events to come. The first and second chapter go into a lot of detail over Robert Cohn but this passage especially was put in the novel for a reason. This passage basically says that Robert is looking for direction, he doesn t know what to do with his life, and he has turned to this book, The Purple Land , for help. It also shows how Jake Barnes see s Robert, Jake knows that Robert has been obsessing with this book and he knows that wherever this leads him to it is not going to be good. The Purple Land is a fiction book that talks of romance and adventure but does not necessarily have a happy ending. Ernest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Divine Comedy By Dante Aleghiri Dante Aleghiri s Divine Comedy is widely taught and written about. In it Dante, the author, details his trip through Hell, Purgatory, and then Paradise. The Divine Comedy was written during Dante s exile from his beloved city of Florence Italy. The work itself is read at various different levels. One could read it as a theological work, a political work, simply as a poetic work, or even as a philosophical work. In his work, Dante s Paradiso: No Human Beings Allowed philosophy professor Bruce Silver argues that, Dante is not a philosopher, instead he just deals with philosophical issues, including the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Dr. Jason Aleksander, the philosophy department chair at Saint Xavier s University, would disagree, stating, In short, for Dante, wisdom, the body of philosophy, results from the proper ordering of earthly desires or, in other words, from the order among the moral virtues. Aleksander sees Dante as a philosopher tackling philosophical issues and because he takes that stance he interprets Dante differently than Silver does. Though both see Dante s work as philosophical they take differing stances on certain points and actually tackle the work in two different ways. Silver makes concise arguments towards Dante trying to deal with the balance between reason and faith. He specifically talks about, the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Silver uses several different philosophers to prove his point, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Compare Contrast Essay Technology Creating a Better World? Advancements in technology are supposed to make our lives easier. The time it takes for us to travel to another destination continues to shorten. Computers continue to advance at a rapid pace. Communicating with family and friends from another country has become easier than ever. It would seem as if everything is perfect. However, that is not the case at all. The irony of it all is that inventions that were supposed to make us connected to people close to us have actually had the opposite effect. Devices such as mobile phones, tablets, television, and laptops are just a few inventions that have us obsessed over them during our free time. With the advent of social media, we have become more engrossed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Members of society have been so entranced with keeping in touch with everyone, that we often neglect the people closest to us. We would rather post pictures, write comments, and video chat with other people than our own family members (Wallis 14). In addition to the obsession over cyber space connection, the bond from sharing quality time with your family seems like a distant thing in the past. The bond that the internet provides is superficial compared to the one a person can build with people. Wallis best describes this when she says If you re IMing four friends while watching That 70s Show, it s not the same as sitting on the couch with your buddies or your sisters and watching the show together (Wallis 18). Turkle explains this by stating We ve become accustomed to a new way of being alone together. Technology enabled, we are able to be with one another, and also elsewhere, connected to wherever we want to be (Turkle 4). Technology has given people a false sense of being together when they are really not. Another common theme that the two essays share is that technology and social media has made us less patient. • 7. Essay On Spanking Parents have the privilege and responsibility of shaping their child s behavior in a positive direction. To help teach children to be responsible and less destructive, most parents use spanking as a way to correct the child. Parents who oppose spanking suppose that spankings can lead to physical abuse. Many parents believe that they should not discipline their children by spanking; however, spanking for disciplinary measure is a necessary teachable moment for children. Corporal punishment is using physical pain in response to behavior that has been deemed inappropriate. A child will respect authority when they know every wrongdoing gets some kind of physical consequence, and the child will not repeat bad behaviors by reinforcement (1). A mother remembers fearing the paddle, which she says is a good thing. When the crime meets the punishment, she feels that there would be fewer bad children if more parents did spank. In one year, ninety four percent of three and four year olds have been spanked. Seventy four percent of mothers think spanking is alright for kids one to three (O Callaghan 1). Compared to non parents, parents view physical punishment as more common than people without children (Marcus 2 3). Majority of the population thinks that spanking is barbaric basing it off of abuses rather than the biblical model. Many parents who think that way have problems at home including conflicts all the time, loss of control, and no way to fix the problems. Since opposers buy into the stereotypical model of spanking where out of control parents and religious extremists beat children instead of disciplining them, they reject the entire idea. Because parents do not know how to spank, they think spanking should not be done at all (Ingram 3), but The Bible never implies that the rod of discipline should be violent ... In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and from astronauts to rovers to space stations. The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It is called the Interplanetary Internet. On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks to your iPod. In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet switched network. Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment, will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate. Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During migratory periods like winter, breeding, and also during migratory, the when and where animals die is important for us to understand population regulations. In migratory animals, mortality may prevail not only during the stationary periods but can also happen during the migrational seasons. But, the relative significance of population limiting factors during different periods of the year remains poorly understood, and previous studies mainly relied on indirect evidence. Here, we provide direct evidence about when and where migrants die by identifying cases of confirmed and probable deaths in three species of long distance migratory raptors tracked by satellite telemetry. We show that mortality rate was about six times higher during migration seasons than during stationary periods. However, total mortality was surprisingly similar between periods, which can be explained by the fact that risky migration periods are shorter than safer stationary periods. Nevertheless, more than half of the annual mortality occurred during migration. We also found spatiotemporal patterns in mortality: spring mortality occurred mainly in Africa in association with the crossing of the Sahara desert, while most mortality during autumn took place in Europe. Our results strongly suggest that events during the migration seasons have an important impact on the population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specifically, these parameters include the pressure ratio, TminTmax ratio, regenerator effectiveness, and compressor and turbine efficiencies, assuming the working fluid to be air at 100kPa and 300K at the compressor inlet. Model calculations are presented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to their low overall thermal efficiencies, gas turbines initially had limited uses. As time has passed, many renovations have been implemented to the gas turbine cycle to make it more efficient. Some modifications include: increasing the turbine inlet temperatures, increasing the efficiencies of turbo machinery components, and adding modifications to the basic cycle. In contrast to the ideal cycle, the actual cycle undergoes unavoidable pressure drops during the heat addition and heat rejection processes. In addition, the actual work input to the compressor is always more than the output and the actual work output of the turbine is less than the work input due to irreversibility. These relationships are displayed in the figures below: Four other common modifications to the simple ideal and actual Brayton cycles include: 1) Regeneration 2) Reheat 3) Intercooling 4) Regeneration with Reheat and Intercooling The only methods amongst these choices that improve the overall thermal efficiency of the ideal Brayton cycle are those that utilize regeneration. However, each of these four improvements also increase the initial cost of building the equipment as well as the maintenance cost for the cycle. Thus,

Both transcendentalism and deep ecology romanticize the natural world, and critique the way industrialization, modernization, and urbanization encroach on ecological and spiritual purity. The eco centric worldview and value system espoused by deep ecology has its roots in transcendentalism (Hicks, n.d.). Both transcendentalists and deep ecologists disparage the ways individuals, communities, and whole cultures present the human being as being entitled to rape and plunder the earth. However critical they were of human activity and stupidity, the transcendentalists were not misanthropes. The transcendentalists advocated for a better world, one that discarded ineffective and corrupt forms of government in favor of a more just and egalitarian society. All were abolitionists, in an era where slavery and sexism were both normative. Emerson advocated material and spiritual self reliance over philanthropy as a means of self empowerment. He also criticized traditional types of philanthropy as having a certain air of quackery, (Emerson, 1842). • 30. Free Community College Should Be Free Free is a word with a powerful appeal. And right now it s being tossed around a lot, followed by another word: college. (Kamenetz). The debate surrounding free community college for all is becoming rather controversial. Since there has been no law set in place federally some states are taking aim. Washington has a scholarship program called Washington Promise that supports what this act is all for. As the world continues to flatten, it seems the only way to compete in the globalized economy is by higher education. Even though the funding is large, the first two years of community college should be free to all. The Washington Promise, a scholarship program in place to provide scholarships to high school seniors who graduate from a Washington high school, is a way to help students in the Yakima Valley attend college and graduate with an A.A degree which helps stress the importance of liberal arts, and help decrease what Thomas Freidman, the author of The World is Flat, calls the education gap at the bottom. Although I believe the first two years of community college should be free to all; many people would disagree. One of the biggest controversies surrounding the issue of free community college is the enormous cost it comes with and how it will be funded. According to Emily Deruy, the author of the article The Debate over Free Community College, The chances of community colleges nationwide becoming free are slim. What Is The Theme Of Black Mod By Rosália De Castro Analysis of the Poem Black Mood by Rosália De Castro According to the Columbia Encyclopedia, Mariá Rosália De Castro was a very important representative of the Galician poetry romanticism and if we add the fact that she was a women and a mother of seven children, one would expect her poems to be gentile and delicate (PoemHunter.com). However, the choice of words and the emotions that these words create in a reader are powerful, sad, mysterious and overwhelming. There is a certain degree of heaviness, darkness and sadness that echoes throughout the whole song. The only softness in this song is the one that is produced by the sounds of the words. She wrote some powerful and emotionally charged poems without the necessity of using the end rhyme. As Girardo said, she made quite of contribution to Spanish and Galician literature her soft and melancholic words, enriched by the crescendo rhythm patterns and a simple assonance rhyme make her audience tremble while reading her poems (Oram, 96). She was opened enough to see that even the death was not an obstacle to feel and express her deep feelings of love and devotion for her son. Rosália De Castro thought that the life would be empty if we adhered to the logical reasoning only. It is love that is able to transcendent all the physical barriers and makes us strong enough to cope with the harsh reality. Although Gerarld Brenan was close to call Rosália De Castro a hysterical women, because of her tendency to leave no space for a reader to rest/pause for even a bit between her lines and her overall propensity to go from one extreme emotion state to another, we can, nevertheless conclude that she left quite an impression on him too enough of impression to write about her poetry (Oram, ... • 32. Background Information Of The Reformation And Definition Background Information of the Reformation and Definition The Protestant Reformation, known simply as The Reformation, began in 1517 with Martin Luther s publication of the 95 Theses. Major players in this pivotal point in European history included Christian humanists such as Desiderius Erasmus, the Kings of France and England, the Holy Roman Emperors and at the center of it all; the Catholic Church. Luther s publication of the 95 Theses, its rapid dissemination due to the technological advance of the printing press (1440), and a European population of lay Christians, Royalty, and Clergy alike primed to take on the excess and singular religious hold of the Catholic Church, created a firestorm of change that swept throughout Europe and significantly changed the practices of the Catholic Church. According to a current publication of PBS.org, Martin Luther plunged a knife into the heart of an empire that had ruled for a thousand years, and set in motion a train of revolution, war and conflict that would reshape Western civilization, and lift it out of the Dark Ages. Desiderius Erasmus (1466 1563) was a Dutch born scholar who actively supported the Northern Renaissance philosophy of Christian Humanism. Christian Humanism emphasized human dignity, beauty, and potential, and reacted against the religious authoritarianism of the Catholic Church by using the principles of classical learning to focus on biblical studies, theology, and the importance of individual ... If I were to be president, I would bump up NASA s finances to help them find more planets in outer space. More money would allow NASA to try to find new species that have never been seen before. Also, if a new planet is found that could inhabit humans and other species, then maybe we could send criminals there. Then here on Earth, we would have a more peaceful life. NASA needs more money that can help pay for more useful and newer technology to find another planet. Bringing up NASA s budget could lead to marvelous studies and programs. Sending Criminals to A Different Planet The second switch I would make would be to lift up NASA s funds to discover other planets where we could send criminals. Thus, by doing this it could make our nation more peaceful. By sending criminals away to a different planet we would not need jails. This could lead to more housing, playgrounds, even a place for more buildings to help get jobs to unemployed people. Additionally, we could send people to another planet if they intend to do crummy and sinful things to people and animals. If we are able to get all malicious people off of Earth, then we would not have to worry about being hurt by the stranger next to us. Living our lives without worrying about being hurt or killed could change the way people live their lives. This would be an effective change that I would make if I were to be President. New Planet Found Above all, the third adjustment that would happen if NASA s budget was raised, would result in making newer and more efficient technology to help them find a new planet. Recently, at NASA s Space Telescope, astronomers had found the first Earth size planet orbiting a star in the habitable zone. While planets had been found before, they are all at least 40 percent larger in size than Earth and understanding their makeup is challenging. • 35. Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald deals on one level with Jay Gatsby s hopes and dreams, but on a deeper level also deals with the Great American Dream. The novel starts and ends with a reference to the green light at the end of the dock, indicating an important symbolism. The first time Nick catches sight of Jay Gatsby, Gatsby stretched his arms towards the dark water [...] [Nick] distinguished nothing except a single green light [...] that might have been at the end of a dock. (Fitzgerald 2000:25). Fitzgerald ends the novel by again referring to the green light at the end of Daisy s dock. (171). The green light at the end of Daisy s dock also symbolises the inability to control time, the irretrievability of the past and the futility of trying to recreate the past, despite Gatsby s belief to the contrary. When Nick asserts that one can t repeat the past, he exclaims: Can t repeat the past? [...] Why of course you can! (106). Gatsby naively believes that Daisy can erase the past by simply telling Tom that she never loved him. He tells Nick that [he s] going to fix everything the way it was before (106) and that he and Daisy would be married from her house just as if it were five years ago. (106). The similarity between Gatsby s dream and the Great American dream is a central theme of the novel. People pursue their dreams, regardless of the cost to themselves and others, with little regard for the attainability and reality of the dream. In Gatsby s case, his dream eventually costs him his life. Similarly, the singleminded pursuit of wealth and pleasure eventually costs people their lives, if not in the literal sense, then in the moral sense. BIBLIOGRAPHY Fitzgerald, F.S. 1926 (rpt. 2000). • 39. What Is Paley s Design Argument This is the second argument about God s existence. Perhaps the most popular variant owed to this this argument is William Paley s argument concerning the watch. Essentially, this argument states that after observing a watch, together with its intricate parts, which function together as a unit in an accurate manner to keep time, anybody must realize that such piece of machinery has its creator, as it is too complicated to have easily come into presence through other means, like evolution (Ratzsch, 2005). The following is a skeleton of this argument: Human artifacts are items resulting from intelligent design and such artifacts have an aim. Universes appear like these human artifacts. Hence: it is likely that the universe is an outcome of intelligent design and has an aim. However, the universe is both gigantic and complex than an artifact made by a human. Therefore, there is likelihood that a powerful and a vastly intelligent designer created the universe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Artifacts like watches are the items of intelligent design and so, organisms are also things of intelligent design. Hume stated that things that can be compared to arguments are few. He noted that watches are not identical to living things and hence deduced that Paley s argument is extremely feeble. This is another kind of criticism in which Hume fails. This is because the local design argument of Paley is good comprehended not as an analogical argument but rather as adductive argument (which is the best explained argument). Thus, it must not be examined on the basis of similarity of watches (analog) to living organisms (the target), but rather by the way of surprise principle. Surprise principle states that design hypothesis is good warranted as compared to Random Hypothesis. This allegation is not impacted by the fact that the organisms are different to other things. • 40. Garage Door Sensors Research How To Fix Your Garage Door Sensors And Make Simple Repairs If your garage door isn t working, one cause could be the safety sensors near the bottom of the door. One sensor sends a beam to the other one as a safety measure. If the beam is broken, it might mean a person or a pet is under the door, so the door won t operate. The problem is the sensors could get dirty or short out, and that keeps your door from working. Here s how to check and repair them. Check The Indicator Lights Locate the sensors by looking near the bottom of your garage door track. There is one on each side of the door. Each one has a tiny LED light that indicates it is operational. The sensor that sends the beam usually has a red light and the one that receives the beam has a green light. In other words it improved. This is due to diversification. By the same intuition, as seen in exhibit 12, if we add LMT to our portfolio efficient frontier improved even further. To see the difference, we can check exhibit 12.The reason that adding LMT improved efficient frontier even further is because of the fact that while MCD has positive correlation as seen in the correlation matrix ,in exhibit 1 whereas LMT is negatively correlated leading to more reduction in the risk of the portfolio due to diversification. Due to the point where the curves intersect (the point when expected return is between 1.5 and 1.75) the portfolios including LMT are more efficient until expected return is 1.75 whereas after the point the portfolios with MCD become more efficient if expected return is equal to higher than 1.75.This may be due to the marginal diminishing returns that reverse the marginal utility the portfolio gains by increasing expected return.
