Court System Should Use Mediation As An Alternative...
Why the court system should use Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution
Civil lawsuits can happen at any moment out of disputes between business partners, family members,
neighbors and government individuals and it must be followed by certain steps. for example,
pleadings, discovery, trial, and possible appeals. This is how alternate dispute resolutions were
developed. Alternate Dispute Resolutions were developed in response to the expense and difficulty of
bringing a lawsuit. Some examples of resolutions are; mediation, arbitration, negotiation, mini trial,
fact finding and using a judicial referee (pg 59). Even though arbitration is the most common form of
resolution, I believe mediation is the best way to reach a settlement for both parties while saving them
time and money. This is of course depending on the case. Three reasons why I believe mediation is a
good form of resolution are First, because the plaintiff has more freedom to take certain actions before
taking their case to trial. Second, because it would end up being less costly. Lastly, because the
plaintiff can gather all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe the plaintiff has more freedom to take certain actions before taking their case to trial, as
opposed to arbitration, where a third party decides the dispute and the arbitration agreement often
describes a specific procedure that must be followed for a case to proceed through an arbitration (pg
59 60) . For example, a lot of cases are family related problems where there are emotions involved. It
can simply be that both parties are misunderstanding each other or don t know how to deal with a
certain situation. A mediator helps both parties see the other s side of the problem making it easier in a
more relaxed environment, to come up with a settlement, then to take it to

Furosemide is a potent diuretic, especially when given IVP, and may cause the loss of electrolytes
such as magnesium, sodium, and potassium. These electrolytes will need to be supplemented if the
levels are low. In addition, furosemide may increase serum glucose levels, which is an issue,
considering that M.G. has diabetes. It is not necessary to monitor CBC or coagulation studies while on

2 EMBEDDED SYSTEMS:
2.1 DEFINITIONS: Embedded system is a combination of hardware and software, it is also named as
Firm ware . An embedded system is a special purpose computer system, which is completely
encapsulated by the device it controls. It is a computer controlled system. An embedded system is a
specialized system that is a part of a larger system or machine. As a part of a larger system it largely
determines its functionality. Embedded systems are electronic devices that incorporate
microprocessors with in their implementations. The main purpose of the microprocessors are simplify
the system design and improve flexibility. In the embedded systems, the software is often stored in a
read only memory (RAM) chip. Embedded systems provide several major functions including
monitoring of the analog environment by reading data from sensors and controlling actuators.
2.2 EXAMPLES OF EMBEDDED SYSTEMS: Embedded systems are found in wide range of
application areas. Originally they were used only for expensive industrial control applications, but as
technology brought down the cost of dedicated processors, they began to appear in moderately
expensive applications such as automobiles, communication and office equipments and television
Today s embedded systems are so inexpensive that they

Animal Shelter Personal Statement Examples
I am a certified volunteer for the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (the
Animal Shelter ). The primary role and responsibility of an Animal Shelter volunteer is to assist
animal control officers with the handling and presenting of shelter animals to the general public for
potential adoption. The time I ve spent at the Animal Shelter has been extremely rewarding, so much
so that I feel it is a privilege to work for the Animal Shelter. I am fortunate to be able to help and
comfort animals looking for a human and interact with people looking for a new family member.
My interest and passion for helping animals has been with me for as long as I can recall. This interest
stemmed from my love of our family dog and my parents introducing me to the beauty of the animals
in nature. In fact, when I was about 6 years old I innocently and confidently declared to my parents ...

Pivotal Events Determining the Outcome of the American...
People of the 21st century might question what the most pivotal events were during the American
Revolution. The Declaration of Independence, which was one of these events was mainly written by
Thomas Jefferson but edited by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The Declaration of Independence
was a celebration of the patriot s breakaway from the British. Another event happened on Christmas
day 1776, when George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River with the hopes of
capturing the Hessians who were a group that King George III paid to fight or them. With luck on the
troop s side, they captured between 900 and 1,000 prisoners and took over Trenton, New Jersey. And
finally, in Valley Forge, PA Washington s troops went through harsh weather and long hours of
training. By June 19th, 1778 the day they left, Washington s troops were stronger than they were
before with the help of General Baron Von Steuben. The most pivotal events in determining the
outcome of the American Revolution were Declaration of Independence (June 1776), Washington s
Crossing (December1776), and Valley Forge (1777 1778). The Declaration of Independence was
mainly written by Thomas Jefferson with the help of the Continental Congress. Writing the declaration
was one of Jefferson s most enduring moments in his life. There were about 56 men who signed the
Declaration all of different ages. The youngest signer was Edward Rutledge, the oldest signer

The Fight for Freedom
How did freedom for blacks come about? The Civil Rights Movement took place in the late 1950 s

The Basics And Controls Of The Dual Locks
The combination locks open should be followed by the below steps:
Clear:
So, recollect: There s no such thing as clearing it. When a client bolts a safe by shutting the entryway
and after that turning the dial a few full turns, that action is the locking procedure; the wheels inside
the keep are hard and fast of their opening positions, or mixed, maybe.
Turning the Dial
Dial turning doesn t help open the bolt; it resembles turning your tires each time you head out from the
control. Every one of that does is destroy your tires speedier.
Another action that positions up there as far as futility is the way such a significant number of safe
clients begin the opening procedure by first turning it a few times at that point ... Show more content

A three wheel bolt really has four wheels, yet the fourth wheel is only there to associate with the dial
and drive the three blend wheels Below are a few minor departure from that subject. The rule that
work the locks don t change, nonetheless.
The following is a less basic dialing arrangement, seen on some more established US made units. You
ll see that the primary line says 5 times right. This discloses to us the bolt has four blend wheels, in
addition to one driver wheel.
The fourth mix wheel gives more blend potential outcomes (a sum of 100,000,000) and requires
dialing 5 times to the main number to guarantee that every one of the wheels are moved. The five
times left and five times right successions are most basic today on bank vault locks, which routinely
have four wheels. Four wheel locks were likewise very basic in numerous more established (pre
1940s) safes.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Kidney Dialysis Machine
KIDNEY DIALYSIS MACHINE: A INVENTION OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Kidney dialysis machines often called as artificial kidneys are used to treat patients who have lost
their kidneys during an accident or diseases they suffered.
PRINCIPLE the machine is a mass transfer device that cleanses patient s blood to remove dirty salts,
excess fluids and metabolic waste products. The dialyser is a large tank that contains thousands of
small membrane fibres. During the use of dialyser patient s blood is passed through these membrane
fibres, where it works as a cleansing fluid that helps to separate unwanted constituents from the
blood, once this is complete clean blood is returned to the body. Chemical engineers uses mass

To increase both safety and to make drug delivery easy within the body, chemical engineering and
biomedical communities have devised a variety of improved drug delivery techniques. To design
methods that can guarantee the delivery of precise, dosages to minimize the risk for overdose or
insufficient dosing are some of the challenges of chemical engineers. A chemical engineer Robert
Langer, and his colleagues discovered that when there is mixing of hydrophobic polymers such as
ethylene acetate and lactic glycolic acid under appropriate conditions, highly porous structures can be
formed by which specific molecules can be released for hundred days. In recent years targeted drug
delivery has become an issue of discovery in biomedical and chemical engineering departments.
Principle of chemical engineering related to polymer processing, diffusion and mass transfer
phenomena have played an integral part in the design development, manufacture and use of novel
drug delivery vehicles which are based on biocompatible, biodegradable polymers.

Gender Inequality In Boys And Girls By Alice Munro
In Alice Munro s Boys and Girls inequality is a proven action throughout the story. Gender roles and
stereotypes is what occur when the role or behavior is taught to a person as appropriate to their gender.
Alice Munro shows us in the story that in a second someone can change based off of what someone
else thinks they should be and do.
For example in the short story it shows us that women should be in the kitchen and men should be
outside working in the fields and providing for his family. When reading a poem entitled Gender
Inequality by
Ella Linero, it tells us that men and women are put into a system where gender inequality is being
ruled in the world. That men and women had to act a certain way and that women should be feminine
while on the other hand men should only be masculine. The time in which the short story Boys and
Girls took place was a time when men and women were not equal. Mothers had traditional roles,
which often left them working in the house while men also had their roles outside of the house. The
male was the dominate figure while the woman had to be subservient. You didn t see women outside
unless they had to go outside and does something for example, hang the clothes on wires and so on.
Gender Inequality took a toll on women in the early 1950 s.
In the short story Boys and Girls the main character is a young girl who struggles within herself and
also has external struggles as her father tries to change who she is and force her into a gender role that
he thinks is important. Munro does not give the girl a name and by doing this the protagonist is seen as
someone who has no identity and no power. This little girl in the story helps her father in their fox
breading farm which she enjoyed so much. Sadly that all changed for her as she got older and her help
wasn t needed. The narrator had problems coming in to terms with the role she was to lead. She
wanted to work outside with her father doing the work that she only knew to do and this work was so
important to her. But sadly the narrators mother tried to her in to work inside the house which I would
say to wing her off of what she enjoyed so much in the fox farm. The narrator didn t like being in the
house doing what her mother was

Lincoln s Plan For Reconstruction Essay
Abraham Lincoln is credited to be the reason the Union won the civil war. His death and lack of
leadership, rise of the radical republican power, and southern refusal to accept northern policies can
arguably be the reason reconstruction failed. After the Union won the war the next task to be
addressed was how to readmit the south into the union. Lincoln set the standard in his 1865 second
inaugural address stating malice towards none, and charity for all . These words would be remembered
in the following years as people, like Johnson, look to Lincoln s ideals during the reconstruction years.
Lincoln s plan for reconstruction supported the idea of a strongly governed united country. Lincoln
was one of the few to recognize that one needed to look past personal glory, and instead, do what was
best for the country as a whole (Herman Belz pg.5). However, because of Lincoln s untimely
assassination in 1865, the newly re formed United States was left in the hands ... Show more content

They saw the acts as a blatant attempt to end their standard of living (Franklin pg72). The south found
ways to avoid the new laws passed, such as the creation of share cropping instead of slavery. Also the
use of intimidation groups like the Ku Klux Klan to scare the newly freed black population and
discourage their participation in the voting process (Franklin pg.68).
The post civil war reconstruction effort was hindered greatly by the unrest in the government. The
country desperately needed leadership to gain unity, but instead there was conflict at the highest level
of leadership, making it impossible for the north and south to unify quickly. The many acts imposed
by the radical republicans during this period contributed to the unrest of the south and ultimately the
failure of post civil war reconstitution in the United States.

Essay On Anselm s Ontological Argument
Ontological Argument
Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings.
A being that is necessary is greater than a being that is not necessary.
If God exists as an idea, but not in reality, then we can imagine something greater than Him.
If God is a perfect being, we cannot imagine a being greater than Him.
Thus, if God exists in the mind as an idea, then God necessarily exists in reality.
In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent on
any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on anything.
In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus, making God
the only being to have necessary existence.
However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It equivocates
between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the same as nothing
greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to exist in reality will
always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything that exists in reality is
more susceptible to flaws, but a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Elasmobranchs are a Subclass Chondrichthyes that are...
PART I The Elasmobranchs are a subclass of class Chondrichthyes. The Chondrichthyes are classified
as the Cartilaginous fishes. Aside from the Elasmobranchs, this class has another subclass named
Holocephali which is comprised of the chimaera. The Elasmobranchs are comprised of sharks
(Selachii) and the rays and the similarly structured skates (Batoidea) Van Eyl, S. M., Siebeck, U. E.,
Champ, C. M., Marshal, J., Hart, N. S. (2011). There have been fossils of sharks found dating about
400 million years and while there is much data that points to diversification throughout the millennia,
skates and rays only appear about 200 100 million years ago (Wilga 2005). The Elasmobranchs are
classified apart from other fishes despite their external similarities due to several key structural
differences. One of these is the absence of a swim bladder. True fishes use this gas filled organ to
control their buoyancy without having to waste physical energy on maintaining the desired depth in
water. Instead, the Elasmobranchs have developed especially large livers that can produce and
withhold large amounts of oil. This is especially evident in the sharks where the liver can sometimes
weigh up to 20 percent of their total body weight. Further characteristics that define the Elasmobranch
subclass include placoid scales or dermal denticles. These are homologous to true scales in function
but are closer in structure to teeth (hence their name). The scales are comprised of a pulp cavity

The Legal Battles Of Tobacco Companies
For years on end, smokers, their families, and even certain government entities have filed suit against
tobacco companies. The most recent litigation to date, is one of Cynthia Robinson against big time
repeat player, RJ Reynolds. The case is one of thousands filed in Florida after a tossed out $145 billion
class action verdict, by the State Supreme Court in 2006. To summarize, the verdict stated that amount
awarded by a Miami jury to smokers was excessive. However, the court did affirm the jury s
conclusions that tobacco companies misrepresent the addictive nature and health hazards involved

Product liability the tobacco companies made and marketed a product that was unfit to use. Negligent

victorious in these original cases. This is partly due to their inability to successfully link tobacco use
with the development of cancer. With this, tobacco companies were able to cling to the hypothesis that
many factors contributed to cancer, and smoking could not be considered the only cause. Due to this
contention, tobacco companies could fall behind the excuse that with a lack of information, they were
unable to know about the potential health risks of smoking and therefore could not research them and
effectively warn the plaintiff consumers. There were many cases during the first wave of litigation.
One of the most prominent, was the case of Lartigue v. R. J. Reynolds. The tobacco company formed
their argument by stating that there could be no causal link between the plaintiffs usage of their
product, and cancer. The plaintiff based her claims on the breach of warranty and negligence. Her
complaint alleged that the consumption of the defendants product was the cause of her late husbands
death. The case lasted several weeks, and ended with a short

The Changes That I Experienced While Being in the...
University of Phoenix Senior year
Introduction
This paper will highlighted my personal beliefs that I had before I started at the University of Phoenix.
Hence, the paper will be an evolutionary analysis of the changes that have taken place in my beliefs
thus my personality after I joined the university. By the help of compilation of this paper, I will be able
to learn and document the changes that have taken place in my personality. The paper is divided into
three main sections, reflection, evaluation and an analysis. These three sections will help in carrying
out a comparison of the changes in me before and after I joined the university.
Reflection
For any individual who knows the importance of education and learning must also realize the role of
learning and its importance in development and shaping personal growth. Personally, I believe that
learning is much more important as compared to the degrees and certificates that an individual has.
Learning of an individual does not come from the books but they are embedded in the experiences that
are gained by an individual while he learns and develops. An individual who needs to have a well
paying career should be aware of the importance of experiences that he can gain while he learns. A
more successful career is more dependent on personal experiences, which enhance the learning in an
individual as compared to the minor roles played by the degrees. Other than experiences, there is no
doubt about the fact that a bachelor s

Summary Of Suicide Note By Janice Mirikitani
Nowadays, it seems like we hear a lot about suicide and who did what and all about their life story.
You hear many stories about how no one knew it was coming and they showed no signs. It is a hard
pill to swallow when most of the time you realize that they probably showed countless amount of
signs but it is that no one really paid attention to the signs. Suicide Note was written by Janice
Mirikitani, it is about an Asian American girl who committed suicide. It is often said that she
committed suicide for having a less than perfect grade point average but I think throughout the poem,
it seems like something a little more hiding beneath the cover of this college student s death. The
Suicide Note is a very blunt title for a poem. It is everything you would think it would be and more.

The college girl thinks this all could have been avoided if she would of just been born a boy. It is
crazy to think what did her parents tell her? Did her parents show her any love at all? Did they not see
the warning signs that she was gonna commit suicide? They probably did not see it because the
college girl was so caught up trying to be perfect for her parents that she did not think about herself.
She did not think about how all these thoughts about her being a bad person were sucking her up in to

Neanderthals:
Are We Really That Different?

Introduction
Evolutionary studies are undoubtedly a large, significant aspect of biological anthropology.
Anthropology can be defined as the study of human nature, human society, and the human past
(Lavenda and Schultz 2016:5). Evolution includes the past, present, and future. It revolves around
how we got to where we are today; what are our origins as modern day humans? Neanderthals are an
important piece of that puzzle that has yet to be properly placed. The role, significance, and similarity
between modern day humans and Neanderthals are topics of special interest for many biological
anthropologists. John D. Speth discusses this exact topic in his article titled News Flash: Negative
Evidence Convicts Neanderthals of Gross Mental Incompetence. Neanderthals have been unjustifiably
placed in a category of inferior cognitive abilities based primarily on negative evidence, a form of
evidence that is not testable, therefore not capable of proving anything, thus demonstrating that
Neanderthals were intelligent beings and do not differ from modern day humans in intelligence.
Article Summary John D. Speth authored the article, News Flash: Negative Evidence Convicts
Neanderthals of Gross Mental Incompetence, a piece where Speth argues that Neanderthals have not
been properly proven of inferior cognitive abilities. Speth says,

In 2012, Campisano and Modica created a dimensionless methodology for the best design of domestic
rainwater harvest systems. From these studies, it can be proved that the previous research had poorly
designed the intake of the rainwater harvest systems. The size of the designs of rainwater harvest
systems were kept in small communities. They also lacked consideration of all metropolitan
catchments varying in special capacity and quality of the systems. The second category in rainwater
harvest systems is simulation and evaluation of the effectiveness. First the research included
evaluating the possible potential for safe to drink water savings by using rainwater in residential areas.
The second thing that was in the research was estimating nonpotable household potential. With the
performance of storage type, and investigating the potential benefits from sharing rainwater harvest
systems with neighbors by using rainfall data. Establishing the probabilistic relationships between
storage capacities and deficit rates of rainwater harvest systems was some of the next things that were
used to consideration. These studies weren t really considered for the surface and sewer flowing after
rainwater. There are many studies evaluating the performance and reliability if rainwater harvest

Definition Of Sacrifice
Before making a sacrifice, people can consider which kind of sacrifice they would be making, the
value in making the sacrifice, and when making this sacrifice would be appropriate. The definition of
sacrifice, according to Google, is an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else
regarded as more important or worthy. Ever since the beginning of time, people have made sacrifices,
big and small. Every sacrifice anybody has ever made is because they thought that giving up
something they value would help something that they or somebody else valued even more.
Some sacrifices are as small as letting your younger sibling eat the last slice of pizza. However, others
are much larger, like giving $5000 to cancer research. The kind of sacrifice that you make is up to you.

Role Of The Power Industry And The Services It Provides Essay
The main goal of DTL Power s cybersecurity strategy is maintaining data integrity and availability of
resources while ensuring that all systems and facilities exceed the industry standards. This strategy is
critically important due to the nature of the power industry and the services it provides. The
implementation of the controls falls in line with the cybersecurity strategy designated by leadership.
The hacktivist and virus attack were able to successfully penetrate our system causing downtime and
affecting system integrity. Cyberattacks are becoming more frequent and evasive therefore it is
imperative that strong security measures be enforced to not only secure network resources but to
prevent unauthorized access.
In order to prevent unauthorized access to DTL Power s data, the cybersecurity team has selected
strict filtering controls to secure the firewall with the strictest configurations to better control traffic
traversing the network and disabling all unnecessary open ports. A firewall with strict filtering rules
detects intrusions and prevents unauthorized access by policing the traffic and access requests to the
firewall. By disabling firewall ports that are not necessary for normal communication, attack
opportunities are greatly reduced. Devices use specific ports for communicating so it is important to
conduct a thorough inquiry into which ports need to remain open. An attacker can take advantage of
open ports, gain access and create a backdoor for

Corrupt politicians have always been an issue. Many debate that Andrew Jackson was one. He went

Today, many of our previous historical figures have become controversial from a moral and political

Functions Of Mitosis And Meiosis
Topic Cells
(A.C. 3.1)
Mitosis and meiosis are both forms of the nucleus in eukaryotic cells and share some similarities, but
also exhibit distinct differences that lead to very different outcomes (UK essays 2013; widmaier et al,
2014; Toole, 2015; Khan, 2016). Mitosis is a cell division that produces two daughter cells receiving a
copy of every chromosome with the same genetic component as the parent cell, while meiosis is a cell
division that produces haploid sex cells or gametes which contain a single copy of each chromosome
(widmaier et al, 2014; Diffen, 2016; Toole 2016; Encyclopaedia Britannica). The purpose of mitosis is
cell regeneration, growth, and asexual reproduction, while the purpose of meiosis is the production of

Court System ShouldUse Mediation As An Alternative... Why the court system should use Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Civil lawsuits can happen at any moment out of disputes between business partners, family members, neighbors and government individuals and it must be followed by certain steps. for example, pleadings, discovery, trial, and possible appeals. This is how alternate dispute resolutions were developed. Alternate Dispute Resolutions were developed in response to the expense and difficulty of bringing a lawsuit. Some examples of resolutions are; mediation, arbitration, negotiation, mini trial, fact finding and using a judicial referee (pg 59). Even though arbitration is the most common form of resolution, I believe mediation is the best way to reach a settlement for both parties while saving them time and money. This is of course depending on the case. Three reasons why I believe mediation is a good form of resolution are First, because the plaintiff has more freedom to take certain actions before taking their case to trial. Pivotal Events Determiningthe Outcome of the American... People of the 21st century might question what the most pivotal events were during the American Revolution. The Declaration of Independence, which was one of these events was mainly written by Thomas Jefferson but edited by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The Declaration of Independence was a celebration of the patriot s breakaway from the British. Another event happened on Christmas day 1776, when George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River with the hopes of capturing the Hessians who were a group that King George III paid to fight or them. With luck on the troop s side, they captured between 900 and 1,000 prisoners and took over Trenton, New Jersey. And finally, in Valley Forge, PA Washington s troops went through harsh weather and long hours of training. By June 19th, 1778 the day they left, Washington s troops were stronger than they were before with the help of General Baron Von Steuben. The most pivotal events in determining the outcome of the American Revolution were Declaration of Independence (June 1776), Washington s Crossing (December1776), and Valley Forge (1777 1778). The Declaration of Independence was mainly written by Thomas Jefferson with the help of the Continental Congress. Writing the declaration was one of Jefferson s most enduring moments in his life. The Basics AndControls Of The Dual Locks The combination locks open should be followed by the below steps: Clear: So, recollect: There s no such thing as clearing it. When a client bolts a safe by shutting the entryway and after that turning the dial a few full turns, that action is the locking procedure; the wheels inside the keep are hard and fast of their opening positions, or mixed, maybe. Turning the Dial Dial turning doesn t help open the bolt; it resembles turning your tires each time you head out from the control. Every one of that does is destroy your tires speedier. The rule that work the locks don t change, nonetheless. The following is a less basic dialing arrangement, seen on some more established US made units. You ll see that the primary line says 5 times right. This discloses to us the bolt has four blend wheels, in addition to one driver wheel. The fourth mix wheel gives more blend potential outcomes (a sum of 100,000,000) and requires dialing 5 times to the main number to guarantee that every one of the wheels are moved. The five times left and five times right successions are most basic today on bank vault locks, which routinely have four wheels. Gender Inequality InBoys And Girls By Alice Munro In Alice Munro s Boys and Girls inequality is a proven action throughout the story. Gender roles and stereotypes is what occur when the role or behavior is taught to a person as appropriate to their gender. Alice Munro shows us in the story that in a second someone can change based off of what someone else thinks they should be and do. For example in the short story it shows us that women should be in the kitchen and men should be outside working in the fields and providing for his family. When reading a poem entitled Gender Inequality by Ella Linero, it tells us that men and women are put into a system where gender inequality is being ruled in the world. That men and women had to act a certain way and that women should be feminine while on the other hand men should only be masculine. The time in which the short story Boys and Girls took place was a time when men and women were not equal. Mothers had traditional roles, which often left them working in the house while men also had their roles outside of the house. The male was the dominate figure while the woman had to be subservient. You didn t see women outside unless they had to go outside and does something for example, hang the clothes on wires and so on. Gender Inequality took a toll on women in the early 1950 s. In the short story Boys and Girls the main character is a young girl who struggles within herself and also has external struggles as her father tries to change who she is and force her into a gender role that he thinks is important. Munro does not give the girl a name and by doing this the protagonist is seen as someone who has no identity and no power. This little girl in the story helps her father in their fox breading farm which she enjoyed so much. Sadly that all changed for her as she got older and her help wasn t needed. The narrator had problems coming in to terms with the role she was to lead. She wanted to work outside with her father doing the work that she only knew to do and this work was so important to her. But sadly the narrators mother tried to her in to work inside the house which I would say to wing her off of what she enjoyed so much in the fox farm. Lincoln s PlanFor Reconstruction Essay Abraham Lincoln is credited to be the reason the Union won the civil war. His death and lack of leadership, rise of the radical republican power, and southern refusal to accept northern policies can arguably be the reason reconstruction failed. After the Union won the war the next task to be addressed was how to readmit the south into the union. Lincoln set the standard in his 1865 second inaugural address stating malice towards none, and charity for all . These words would be remembered in the following years as people, like Johnson, look to Lincoln s ideals during the reconstruction years. Lincoln s plan for reconstruction supported the idea of a strongly governed united country. Lincoln was one of the few to recognize that one needed to look past personal glory, and instead, do what was best for the country as a whole (Herman Belz pg.5). However, because of Lincoln s untimely assassination in 1865, the newly re formed United States was left in the hands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The post civil war reconstruction effort was hindered greatly by the unrest in the government. The country desperately needed leadership to gain unity, but instead there was conflict at the highest level of leadership, making it impossible for the north and south to unify quickly. The many acts imposed by the radical republicans during this period contributed to the unrest of the south and ultimately the failure of post civil war reconstitution in the United States. Essay On Anselms Ontological Argument Ontological Argument Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings. In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent on any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on anything. In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus, making God the only being to have necessary existence. However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It equivocates between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the same as nothing greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to exist in reality will always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything that exists in reality is more susceptible to flaws, but a ... Aside from the Elasmobranchs, this class has another subclass named Holocephali which is comprised of the chimaera. The Elasmobranchs are comprised of sharks (Selachii) and the rays and the similarly structured skates (Batoidea) Van Eyl, S. M., Siebeck, U. E., Champ, C. M., Marshal, J., Hart, N. S. (2011). There have been fossils of sharks found dating about 400 million years and while there is much data that points to diversification throughout the millennia, skates and rays only appear about 200 100 million years ago (Wilga 2005). The Elasmobranchs are classified apart from other fishes despite their external similarities due to several key structural differences. One of these is the absence of a swim bladder. True fishes use this gas filled organ to control their buoyancy without having to waste physical energy on maintaining the desired depth in water. Instead, the Elasmobranchs have developed especially large livers that can produce and withhold large amounts of oil. This is especially evident in the sharks where the liver can sometimes weigh up to 20 percent of their total body weight. Further characteristics that define the Elasmobranch subclass include placoid scales or dermal denticles. These are homologous to true scales in function but are closer in structure to teeth (hence their name). The scales are comprised of a pulp cavity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Product liability the tobacco companies made and marketed a product that was unfit to use. Negligent advertising the tobacco companies failed to warn consumers of the risks of smoking cigarettes. Fraud, and [the] violation of state consumer protection statutes . The defendant tobacco companies came out victorious in these original cases. This is partly due to their inability to successfully link tobacco use with the development of cancer. With this, tobacco companies were able to cling to the hypothesis that many factors contributed to cancer, and smoking could not be considered the only cause. Due to this contention, tobacco companies could fall behind the excuse that with a lack of information, they were unable to know about the potential health risks of smoking and therefore could not research them and effectively warn the plaintiff consumers. There were many cases during the first wave of litigation. One of the most prominent, was the case of Lartigue v. R. J. Reynolds. The tobacco company formed their argument by stating that there could be no causal link between the plaintiffs usage of their product, and cancer. University of Phoenix Senior year Introduction This paper will highlighted my personal beliefs that I had before I started at the University of Phoenix. Hence, the paper will be an evolutionary analysis of the changes that have taken place in my beliefs thus my personality after I joined the university. By the help of compilation of this paper, I will be able to learn and document the changes that have taken place in my personality. The paper is divided into three main sections, reflection, evaluation and an analysis. These three sections will help in carrying out a comparison of the changes in me before and after I joined the university. Reflection For any individual who knows the importance of education and learning must also realize the role of learning and its importance in development and shaping personal growth. Personally, I believe that learning is much more important as compared to the degrees and certificates that an individual has. Learning of an individual does not come from the books but they are embedded in the experiences that are gained by an individual while he learns and develops. An individual who needs to have a well paying career should be aware of the importance of experiences that he can gain while he learns. A more successful career is more dependent on personal experiences, which enhance the learning in an individual as compared to the minor roles played by the degrees. Human Nature, Human,And The Human Past Neanderthals: Are We Really That Different? Mitch Charlton Student #250833199 Anthropology 1020E 001 5A Alexis Dolphin November 9 2015 Introduction Evolutionary studies are undoubtedly a large, significant aspect of biological anthropology. Anthropology can be defined as the study of human nature, human society, and the human past (Lavenda and Schultz 2016:5). Evolution includes the past, present, and future. It revolves around how we got to where we are today; what are our origins as modern day humans? Neanderthals are an important piece of that puzzle that has yet to be properly placed. The role, significance, and similarity between modern day humans and Neanderthals are topics of special interest for many biological anthropologists. John D. Speth discusses this exact topic in his article titled News Flash: Negative Evidence Convicts Neanderthals of Gross Mental Incompetence. Neanderthals have been unjustifiably placed in a category of inferior cognitive abilities based primarily on negative evidence, a form of evidence that is not testable, therefore not capable of proving anything, thus demonstrating that Neanderthals were intelligent beings and do not differ from modern day humans in intelligence. Role Of ThePower Industry And The Services It Provides Essay The main goal of DTL Power s cybersecurity strategy is maintaining data integrity and availability of resources while ensuring that all systems and facilities exceed the industry standards. This strategy is critically important due to the nature of the power industry and the services it provides. By disabling firewall ports that are not necessary for normal communication, attack opportunities are greatly reduced. Devices use specific ports for communicating so it is important to conduct a thorough inquiry into which ports need to remain open.
