House On Mango Street Research Papers
The tittle of the children s literature I analyzed is The House on mango Street by Sandra
Cisneros. The book totals 110 pages and was published (originally in 1984 by Arte Publico) by
First Vintage Contemporaries in 1981. The House on Mango Street is about a Mexican
American girl named Esperanza. Esperanza, her parents, younger brothers Kiki Carlos, and younger
sister Magdalena or Nenny, move to Mango Street when she is about twelve years old.
Thought it is the first home her family owns its is not what they truly want. Specifically for
Esperanza who longs for a beautiful home of her own. Esperanza doesn t like her house, she is
ashamed of it and longs to scape and leave Mango Street behind her. Mango Street is located in

development regarding friendship and gender is expressed by
Esperanza when she explains that her sister Jenny and she live in a completely different world than her

The Issues Of The Field Of Psychology
The field of psychology is steadily expanding due to the progression in technology, which is being
driven by the advancement of civilization. More and more time is spent on the internet, which has
gradually altered the method in which primary communication takes place. Previously face to face
interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via
the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan,
2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists
have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal
change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers
communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents
their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet,
psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. The first method
utilized by mental health professionals is traditionally counseling and if those efforts fail, then the
potential exists for adolescents to be placed on medications. In order to establish an informative
baseline, the use of social media amongst children, adolescents and teenagers needs to be addressed.
Developmental psychologists have had a difficult time trying to identify the casual and driving

Observation Paper On Body Art
Different fashions will come in and out of style but people want to be able to stand out in their own
manner showing the world how they express themselves. A common form of self expression is by
getting a piercing or tattoo, something that can set a person apart from the majority. Body piercings
and tattoos on women at one time were unacceptable and distasteful in the United States. However
over time women having assorted types of body art has become more acceptable in society. Today
young women at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, use piercings and tattoos as a form of
self expression that is vastly encouraged by peers and social media. Each woman has a different
reason for why they personally want a piercing or a tattoo but are there some factors that have
influenced the college community of women as a whole?
As I started my research to find out what influences college aged women to get a piercing or tattoo, I
wanted my observation to take place where many different types of college women could be found. I
chose the campus library where women of all different ethnicities, religions, majors, and cultures
could be found. This would allow me to see these women as individuals. I began my observation on
October 23rd, 2017 at 12:00 pm, I sat at a table towards that back of the library so I was able to see the
majority of the main floor. I observed many women, all belonging to different social groups, having
different majors, and different senses of style, these women

Night and Maus
Comparison of Maus and Night
The Holocaust was a traumatic event that most people can t even wrap their minds around. Libraries
are filled with books about the Holocaust because people are both fascinated and horrified to learn the
details of what survivors went through. Maus by Art Spiegelman and Night by Elie Wiesel are two
highly praised Holocaust books that illustrate the horrors of the Holocaust. Night is a traditional
narrative that mainly focuses on Elie s experiences throughout the holocaust while Maus is a comic
book that focuses on the relationship between Art and his father and the generational trauma Art is
going through as well as his father s experiences during the Holocaust. Night and Maus are very

In chapter one of book II Art reveals that he feels extremely guilty about not having to go through the
Holocaust like his father did and says Somehow, I wish I had been in Auschwitz with my parents so I
could really know what they lived through! ...I guess it s some form of guilt about having had an
easier life than they did (Spiegelman, MausII,16).
Postmemory affected Art throughout his life because of his father s dramatic life experiences.
Marianne Hirsch describes Postmemory with some hesitation because she thinks that it may imply that
we are beyond memory and she doesn t want people to think that s what she means. Postmemory is
different from regular memory because it is caused by generation gaps, like the gap between Art and
Vladek. It is a powerful and very particular form of memory precisely because its connection to its
object or source is mediated, not through recollection but through an imaginative investment and
creation...Postmemory characterizes the experience of those who grow up dominated by narratives
that preceded their birth, whose own belated stories are evacuated by the stories of the previous
generation shaped by traumatic events that can be neither understood nor recreated (Hirsch, 1997: 22).
Many of Arts memories from when he was a boy come from many from Postmemory. They are the
memories that Vladek talks about from his earlier experiences from the Holocaust and of Anja. Arts
memories are controlled by the experience of those

American Idol: A Big Hit for Marketing Research?
Management decision problem confronting Melissa Marcello and Julie Litzenberger and a
corresponding marketing research problem and the linkages between the two.
From the case study, it is evident that Marcello and Litzenberger face a critical management decision
problem. Their respective firms encounter challenges while trying to convince clients about the role of
marketing research (Malhotra, p. 781). Most clients are assertive that their firms are productive even
without marketing research. In essence, prospective clients perceive professional marketing as a
platform for unnecessary expenditures. Other skeptics were assertive that they had sufficient
information about consumer trends for their brands. Such misconceptions had negative implications
on the performance of Marcello s and
Litzenberger s firms. Apart from management decision, a marketing research problem faces the two
executives. This challenge pertains to the survey techniques used in marketing research. Some
skeptics argue against the validity of methods used in professional marketing research. For instance, it
is difficult to convince prospective clients about the reliability of the samples used in professional
marketing (Malhotra, p. 780).
Additionally, the issue of information privacy is another perspective that

Firefighting Research Papers
Much like all events and natural phenomena that pose a threat to civilization, humans have learned to
cope with and prevent the loss of human life and destruction of property in devastating blazes that can
break out seemingly at random. Fighting fires was not always the science it is today, but due to the use
of new technologies and the fundamental understanding of what fire is, how it spreads, how it can kill,
and how it is stopped, our protocol when dealing with fires has increased our success rate and
continues to grow with applications of engineering, chemistry, and meteorology.
An understanding of how fires, wildfires in particular, work was a fundamental part in learning how to
fight fires properly. This understanding entailed knowing what makes a fire a fire, what could cause a
fire, what hinders and aids a fire s growth, what different types of fire there are, and the characteristics
of said types. Without the basic understanding of these things, it would have made the evolution of
aerial firefighting next to impossible.
Fire is explained in a tetrahedron of necessary requirements a fire needs before it is able to spring to
life. First, is sufficient fuel. Different types of fuel coincide with different types of terrain. In dry,
sparse areas, dead grass and shrubs provide the best fuel. In lush, green forests, pine needles, leaves,
twigs, and other such things typically underfoot makes for the best fuel . Second, is an oxidizing
agent. This could be the oxygen

Heart Of Gold Zaphod Analysis
If there s anything more important than my ego around here, I want it caught and shot now. This
statement was said by Zaphod to Trillian in the Improbability Drive prototype ship, the Heart of Gold.
Zaphod told Trillian this after she asked him if he could just put down his ego for an important matter.
Two hitchhikers came aboard the Heart of Gold, and Zaphod just continued to watch this news about
him, not giving a care about the two hitchhikers. After he said this, Trillian realized that they were at
the same point in the universe where he picked her up, but Zaphod tried hard to veer her mind into
somewhere else. This statement by Zaphod blatantly shows his personality of being egoistic or
narcissistic in the story. This statement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dolphins tried to tell the humans about the Earth coming to an end, but the humans misunderstood
every message of the dolphins as amazing stunts and tricks. This last message, So long and thanks for
all the fish which again misunderstood by humans as the dolphins just trying to do a stunt, was the
least the dolphins can do for the doomed humans by thanking them for the fish the humans fed to them
after every stunt they made. After this, the humans never cracked the message of the dolphins, and
they never knew that the Earth is coming to an end until it did. The meaning of these words within the
context of the story is simply that there were living beings on Earth and outside of Earth that was
capable of communicating with humans, although they couldn t understand it or haven t acquired the
capacity to listen to it such as the warning given by the Vogons of the demolition of Earth. In real life,
this statement can be thought of how people leave others when they ve got what they wanted from
them. Specifically, politicians who are corrupt are somewhat what this statement criticizes. After all
the fish , symbolizing taxes, the humans, symbolizing people or citizens, gave to the dolphins, which
symbolizes exploitive governments or political leaders, they just left them on Earth to die. Not to
mention the stunts that the dolphins performs both mesmerizes and confuses humans that the dolphins
were doing what they were supposed to

Green Card Marriage In The One With Phoebe s Husband

he was gay because it meant he would fit in with the other ice dancers. The scene is played as a

Essay Analysis of Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti
Analysis of Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti
Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti describes a cottage maiden who was seduced and used by the lord
of the estate for which she worked. She was surprised and taken a back by the fact that someone so
great and powerful could be slightly interested in her, and so she automatically fell in love with him. It
wasn t until after he had slept with her that he left her for her cousin, Kate. The cottage maiden was
devastated that he had done that to her. She felt unclean and unwanted. The lord asked for Kate s hand
in marriage and she accepted.
The cottage maid thought that he married Kate because she was innocent and pure, Because you were

Men would then look down on you in disgust, as would friends and family. The poem demonstrates
how a man can love a woman, then throw her away and move onto another as he pleases, and because
he was a Lord the cottage maiden could not say a thing. This brings into light the difference between
higher and lower class people. If the cottage maiden had said anything, people would not believe her
and turn a blind eye to her and to her accusations. According to the maiden, Kate s love was not real.
O cousin Kate my love was true, your love was writ in sand .
This tells us that Kate s love was going to disappear and was only a temporary emotion which was
later just blown away like writing in the sand, whilst the maiden s love was real. The maiden may just
be saying this for revenge against Cousin Kate to try and make herself feel better but we do not know.
The Lord s love towards the maiden was not real, His plaything and his love . Plaything and love are
two very different contrasts with each other. Did he really love her for a while or was it all just a game
to him? He used her and made her believe that he liked her then left her for Kate.
The maiden was infatuated by the Lord and fell in love with him instantly. He used this, his power and
his wealth against the maiden.
The Lord casts off the female once he meets Kate, who is fairer than the narrator. This shows that
males do not always get emotionally involved in

Hiv And Its Effects On Hiv
HIV does not make people dangerous to know. You can shake their hands and give them a hug.
Heaven knows they need it. (Diana, 1987) Princess Diana declared these words at an Aids Center in
London as she sat on the bed of a patient and held his hand. She did this to destroy the notion that a
majority of the population believed that the virus could be spread through casual contact (Thompson,
2007). HIV remains for human immunodeficiency infection. The infection can lead to acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS. Dissimilar to some different infections, the human body can t
dispose of HIV. That implies that once you have HIV, you have it forever (Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention, 2015). Today, scientists are still working to find a treatment for HIV and the recent
studies show that a new vaccine will be developed by 2025 (Fauci,2008). These are quite promising
studies for the whole world. However, it is important to understand people who are living with that
virus are also struggling with social, economic and psychological problems. Recent researches
demonstrate that HIV might have got over from apes to humans roughly in the late 1800 s. After the
19th century, HIV has gradually sprawled across Africa and then into other parts of the world.
According to the CDC, HIV has discovered in the US in the early 1980s (CDC, 2015). Generally,
acute infection, clinical latency and finally AIDS are the three major stages of HIV. High fever, rash

Compare And Contrast Judaism And Monotheism
Pharisees: spiritual grandparents of rabbinic Judaism. They believed that God controlled all things, yet
decisions made by individuals also contributed to the course of a person s life. Also, they believed in
the resurrection and the award/punishment in the afterlife notion.
Reform Judaism: the more liberal, progressive, modern thinking sect of Jews. The reformers began by
reforming the prayer service to bring it into line with Western sensibilities. They also began to
reexamine the underpinnings of Judaism, the meaning of the Torah, reward and punishment of the
afterlife, the meaning end of time, and the role of Jews in the integrated world. Reform Judaism wants
to more tolerant of non Jewish religions as well.
Monotheism: this means the belief that there is only one God. Monotheism is present within all three

Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame
To some, including myself, baseball is the greatest sport that has ever been played. It is a game played
by two opposing teams made of multiple players, but only nine players per team play at the same time.
To be part of one of the thirty teams that get to play professional baseball, a player has to play the
game extremely well (www.baseballhalloffame.com). When a player plays the game better than most
have played he gets rewarded, usually with lots of money in a big contract. Then there are those rare

Evidence is minimal and it has been over ten years, yet he is still ineligible to be voted into the Hall of
Fame. If it was left up to his statistics, he should have been inducted years ago. There are a handful of
the 244 elites that are in the Hall of Fame that did far worse things than gamble on the game of
baseball or evade paying their taxes. For instance, the beloved Ty Cobb was a horrible racist and once
admitted killing a man. One day while walking in Detroit, he stepped in freshly poured asphalt. Then a
construction worker, named Fred Collins, who just happened to be black, yelled at him. Cobb
responded by slapping Collins to the ground. Cobb was found guilty by the courts, and received a

Chapter 22 The Hindu Rite Of Entry Into Heaven
Hindu death rites Chinese death rites In Chapter 22, The Hindu Rite of Entry into Heaven , Knipe
discusses the Sapiṇḍīkaraṇa after the death in Hinduism which is continuing elaboration in two

considered as a sacrifice act, one can transforming from preta ( ghost ) to pitṛ (father) and enter the

2016 Lectures On Human Evolution
CARTAApril 29, 2016 lectures on human evolution
The CARTA lectures on human evolution included lectures from Joshua Akey from the University of
Washington, Kay Prüfer from the Mark Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, and Tony
Capra from Vanderbilt University. Each of the speakers talked in some detail about the interbreeding
of Neandertals, Denisovans, and modern humans. However, each speaker talked about a different
aspect of the breeding. Akey spoke about Neandertal and Denisovan DNA in modern humans and
their effects. Prüfer discussed the interbreeding of Neandertals and Denisovans and how it affects the
relationship of Neanderthals and Denisovans to modern humans. Lastly, Capra spoke on the
phenotypic effects of Neandertal DNA in modern humans.
Akey opened his lecture with a question: how widespread were ancient introgression events? He
sought to answer how long ago did archaic humans and modern humans interbred and how many
times did they interbreed. Akey mentioned that for a while there was a debate whether hybridization
even occurred between archaic humans and modern humans. This was an ongoing debate until fairly
recently when there was data that was obtained through sequencing the Neandertal and Denisovan
genomes that supported that archaic humans did indeed mate with other modern humans. He
mentioned that a problem with sequencing is that it can be hard to find a suitable specimen that has
been well preserved.

A joint is the site where two skeletal elements connect(1). Joints can be classified by both structure
and function. Structural classifications are based on the type of connective tissue binding the
structures together and whether a joint capsule is present(2, 3). There are three structural
classifications of joints; fibrous, cartilaginous and synovial. Functional classifications are based on the
amount of movement present(2). There are three functional classifications of joints; synarthroses
which are immobile, amphiarthroses which are slightly mobile, and diarthroses which are freely
mobile(3).
Fibrous joints are classified as having articulating bones joined by dense regular connective tissue
(mainly consisting of collagen) and no joint cavity(3). Majority of fibrous joints are synarthroses or
amphiarthroses. The three types of fibrous joints are sutures, gomphoses, and syndesmoses. Sutures
are synarthroses joints present on the skull(2). The sutural ligament which is composed of connective
tissue fibers and is continuous with the periosteum joins the two skull bones(1,2). Sutures give
strength and allow growth of the skull during childhood(3). Once growth has occurred the dense
regular connective tissue becomes ossified and the bones fuse together(3). Gomphoses are
synarthrosis joints that only occur between teeth and sockets of the mandible and maxillae(3).
Collagen fibers in the periodontal ligament link the root of the tooth and the bony socket(1).

The utilization of expired alkaline water that purportedly stimulates germination will provide an
alternative use for the undrinkable water.
II. Materials and Methodology
Assay Location
The experiment proper was carried out inside a room in the Medina Residence, which is located at 5
Capt. Miyong St., San Roque, Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The room experienced
limited sunlight with temperatures that vary from 18°C to 28°C. The set up was placed on top of a
table to eliminate the possibility of animal foraging.
Species Selection
The experiment entailed the utilization of three species of plants. The first species, Oryza sativa Linn.,
was preselected while the last two species were left to the discretion of the proponent of the study.
Prudent seed selection was done to ensure the preservation of the diversity of the plant species that
will be utilized for the experiment.
O. sativa, commonly called rice, is a monocot plant. It belongs to the family of grasses, Poaceae, and
is the main source of carbohydrates in Asian countries. Solanum melongena Linn., commonly called
eggplant, in contrast is a dicot plant. The shrub belongs to the nightshade family, Solanaceae, and is
used as a source of vitamins and minerals in tropical and temperate countries. Abelmaschus esculentus
(L.) Moench, commonly called okra, is a herbaceous dicot plant. It belongs to the hibiscus family,
Malvaceae, and is also used as a source of vitamins and

Boeing 7E7 Case Study Essay
Executive Summary A key factor in determining a project s viability is its cost of capital [WACC].
The estimation of Boeing s WACC must be consistent with the overall valuation approach and the
definition of cash flows to be discounted. Note that this process is a forward looking focus and is
laden with uncertainty. It is how the assumptions are modeled that many costly mistakes can be made.
While finding a rate of return for an individual project, it is important to remember that WACC is only
appropriate for an individual project. The many factors affecting WACC are: general economic
conditions, market conditions, the firm s operating and financial decisions, amount of financing,
business risk, constant financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for other relevant Boeing statistics. Analysis of Boeing s 7E7 Project It is suggested that the travel
industry and the aerospace and defense industry as a whole will continue to grow on the basis of the
strong demand emanating from domestic demand as well as globalization. This may give a major
boost to the demand for 7E7s as the airlines are already concerned about high fuel costs intensifying
out of increased demands from emerging economies like India and China and reduced production.
Better design modifications is going to be a major strength for the 7E7 as Boeing is betting on the
future of small mid size airplanes which can fly short as well as long distances with its fuel efficient
engines. From an investment perspective, with interest rates at it s lowest in decades, with 911 behind
us, and barring a major pandemic such as SARS, the timing seems right for Boeing to pursue this
endeavor. Nevertheless, as Boeing gears up for its all new 7E7 airliner, arch rival Airbus may already
be putting 7E7 orders at risk by talking to airlines about a similar plane. Airbus is viewed a having
advanced technologies coupled with a conglomerate backing and Boeing has not come up with any
new innovative ideas in the last ten

The Relocation And Imprisonment Of Japanese Americans...
The relocation and imprisonment of Japanese Americans during World War II has been and always
will be a dark stain in American History. Due to America s lingering racism and prejudices, many of
our fellow Americans had to experience an ordeal that no other American should ever have to face.
They lost their homes, businesses, land and more importantly, their freedoms, during a moment of
time that was filled with resentment, mistrust, fear and hatred towards a fellow man (American) that
was just as willing to fight and die for their country.
On December 7, 1941, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. The next day, the United States and Britain
declared war on Japan. Two months later, on February 19, 1942, the lives of thousands of Japanese
Americans were dramatically changed when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order
9066. This order led to the assembly and evacuation and relocation of nearly 122,000 men, women,
and children of Japanese ancestry on the west coast of the United States. (1)
It is interesting to note that, despite the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Japanese Americans in Hawaii were
not imprisoned in a large scale as they were stateside. Of the total Japanese American population in
Hawaii which made up nearly 40% of the population of Hawaii itself, and a large portion of the skilled
workforce only a few thousand people were detained. (2) The fact that so few Japanese Americans
were incarcerated in Hawaii suggests that their mass removal on the West Coast was

The Cost Of Cost Management
Unit VII Essay
Brittney Dixon
Columbia Southern University Introduction
Cost management is worried with the way toward arranging and controlling the financial plan of a
project or business. It incorporates activities, for example, arranging, evaluating, planning, financing,
funding, overseeing, and controlling costs so that the project can be finished inside the affirmed
spending plan. Cost management covers the full life cycle of a project from the underlying arranging
stage towards measuring the genuine cost execution and project completion.
Intangible and Tangible Cost Benefits

They are additionally simple to measure, so management tends to concentrate on the control of
tangible costs
One of the major tangible cost benefit of project management is budgetary savings funds. Extend
managers control spending plans and settle on choices about how best to designate assets during the
time spent moving in the direction of a project s goals. At last, the distinction between coming in
under spending plan or having an overrun is a function of workforce productivity and project
management. The cash that project managers spare their organizations expands the project s advent on
assumption and stays available for upcoming projects
Indirect and Direct Costs
Indirect Cost An expense, (for example, for publicizing, processing, support, security, supervision)
brought about in joint utilization and, in this manner, hard to appoint to or relate to a particular cost
object or cost center (office, work, and program). Indirect costs are generally steady for an extensive
variety of output, and are assembled under a fixed cost. There are some examples of indirect cost
which include accounting/legal expenses, administrative expenses, office expenses, rent, telephone
expenses and utilities. These are used in normal everyday life for normal business people.
Direct Cost
Direct costs is a cost that can be followed straightforwardly to (or related to) a particular cost

Explain Why My Religion Does Not Control Me
My religion does not control me. The authors E.L. Doctorow, Rushdie, and Paul who wrote in part of
Corinthian all have written that debate against one another. Doctorow is an American author is well
known for historical writing and wrote about how America is not full of infidels. Rushdie is an atheist
who had a bounty on his head from the Islamic state for years; he is known for his writing against
religion. Paul wrote the first epistle of Corinthian, which was directed towards the, the church of God,
in Corinth, Greece; he wrote about how love has do with the individual not God. These authors
contradict each other s claim: Doctorow disproves Rushdie s claim with religion causes freedom to

Doctorow claims the people of the United States want religion because it is an escape from society s
issues. In addition, the word infidels means one who doubts or rejects central trends of one s religion,
but this word is used more towards Christianity and Islam. However, the United States is made of
many different religions that people look over, such as: The Shakers, Swendenborgians, and
Adventists. Due to the religious freedom in America the nation is filled with a variety of praying,
singing and studying that are practiced by millions. Because of these varieties, many religions
developed in the U.S such as: Mormonism, Christian Science and Native American
Anthropomorphism. It s not about the United States being full of infidels it s about how the United
States decided to keep religion and politics separate. A lot of what Doctorow mentions goes against
what Rushdie ideas of religion are. Rushdie mentions in a sarcastic way that victors of war can t be
close minded because they have God on their side. Basically, saying that those who believe in God
tend to be close minded. In addition, Rushdie things freedom is restricted by religious rule. Doctorow
argues that a country that has freedom of religion gives people the freedom to believe and not believe
in anything they want; without the pressure of religious control. On the other hand, having freedom of
religion in a country allows people to have an open mind by accepting

Oddi Banding Essay
Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to a
rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric banding in
that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO), compressing the
outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely affected by this
procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell count, abnormal
discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to organs and even death. All of
these elements will be explained below in further detail. (CQUniversity, 2015) What is the sphincter
of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction of smooth muscle fibers surrounding the duodenal

Solid casings that contain pain fibers encapsulate organs such as the liver and gallbladder. The
swelling and stretching of these organs stimulate these fibers to produce abdominal pain. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014) The gallbladder holds approximately 90ml of concentrated bile. Each day 700 to
1200 ml of bile is secreted and drained into the common bile duct and into the duodenum. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014) As outlined earlier the blockage of the Sphincter of Oddi will cause all of this bile to
be forced back up the common bile duct and into the gallbladder. The amount of fluid produced in a
day far outweighs the capacity of the gallbladder causing it to become distended. This distention
activates the pain fibers causing abdominal discomfort, especially during large meals. The same
mechanism is found when the pancreas secretes pancreatic enzymes. The enzymes become stuck at
the SO and are required to travel back up the main pancreatic duct into the pancreas; this causes pain
and discomfort due to the distention of the

the feedback on the work is very important. And also humility by letting others also to add the value to
the project efforts.
Principles:
Modeling should be simple.
Should be quick in changes because requirements of the customers will change over time.
Changes should be made for enable agility.
As mention above feedback should be taken on the work to meet the needs of the stakeholders.
Start the model with a purpose and take and refer multiple models for the effective development.
Representation is very important than content.
Modeler should have knowledge about the tools.
Focus is need for the better quality of work.
Practices:
Several Models should be created parallel.
Right artifacts.
Small increments should be used in a model.
Goals of Agile Modeling:
To define the model and put that model into practice, collections of the values, principles and practices
and agile modeling should be light weight.
To use the agile approach on applying the modeling techniques on the projects which are eXtreme

The IRL Fetish Nathan Jurgenson Summary
At one point not that long ago it was only possible to update a Facebook status from a phone if you
subscribed to the text messaging service offered by the site that would allow you to text in an update.
There was no such thing as scrolling through your newsfeed as you rode the subway to work or waited
for class to start. In his essay The IRL Fetish , Nathan Jurgenson talks about the spread of technology
saying: Each moment is oversaturated with digital potential: Texts, status updates, photos, check ins,

The Theory Of Social Enterprise
When I first start on this module, I feel really odd about what exactly a social enterprise is. In our
daily life, there are tens of thousands businesses among us, but I have never thought about what makes
those business exits, what aims they are trying to achieve and what kind of business they are. When
thinking of social enterprise, I feel interested in how they run the business in a long term if it is not
profit driven, and how they maintain the daily operation with perhaps very little social capital
investment. My understanding of this module built upon everyday readings, seminar preparations and
workshops, as well as group discussions, Gregson Centre s visit and learning packs of various social
concepts from different groups day by day.
What gave me the deep impressions at first is the three system of economy model proposed by Pearce
(2003). The diagram is totally new to me but it is not that hard to understand. The diagram divides the
economy into three systems and each of which can be seen to be based on deferent principles and
values. Each system is about a different way of managing the economy. The first system can be
referred to as the private sector, it is profit driven and their principle is to maximize returns for private
shareholders. The first system operates through the free marketplace, meeting needs through the
production of goods and the provision of services by companies. The second system can be
conventionally referred to as the public sector. It is

Long, long ago, in a lively and vibrant tropical rainforest in Brazil, there lived three birds. First, there
was Kiwi the parrot. He was the most beautiful bird in all of Brazil. His colorful feathers and bright
plumage never failed to turn heads. Next, there was Victor the peacock. His gorgeous royal blue color
and alluring tail feathers attracted all of the females. Last, and probably least, there was Toko the
toucan. He had dull, dark feathers, and a short, ugly beak. Because of this, poor Toko had no friends

The story, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived, takes place in two different settings. The first (The

Terry. We hear about them and their friends, and how they used to play together in the game of playing
the Tudors (old English royal family). The flashbacks are between the years 1973 and 1974. The
second setting is taking place in the present time, in the home of Sarah, with Sarah as the main

illustrate the death of Terry. Not only does Sarah lose him but the other children too. They are
avoiding Sarah. And at last the word survived, can be used to show the Sarah survives. The title
becomes a symbol on that even if someone close to us dies, we have to keep on with our lives and not
let it be a burden for the rest of our lives. Even though that it how Sarah s is living her life.
In the story Sarah has a huge burden. She keeps the death of her brother a secret to protect the
childlike innocence of her children. But her attempt on hiding it is in vain, because Coco and Mark
already know about Uncle Terry. But it s not just to protect her children it s also about protecting
herself because the death of Terry still effect her. Maybe that s why that Mark reacts the same way as
her mother when Peter died. I can conclude from this story that the only way to get over the loss of a
loved one is through talking with another person.

Use of Symbolism and Foreshadowing in Flannery O Connor s...
The Use of Foreshadowing and Symbolism in A Good Man is Hard to Find When an author writes a
story, he or she will generally use different writing techniques to create the piece. These techniques
have the ability to turn a story into something truly unique, as they allow the story to unfold in it s
own way. In the short story A Good Man is Hard to Find , author Flannery O Connor used the
techniques of symbolism and foreshadowing throughout the entire piece to create a deeply captivating
story, as so many of the details mentioned in the beginning of the story are glimpses of the end. The
foreshadowing in A Good Man is Hard to Find can be seen almost immediately. Within the first
paragraph, the protagonist known as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very specific foreshadowing, because in the end of the story, all five on the trip die, and it
seems that will lead to the end of their family line. O Connor also explains how the Grandmother
dressed for the trip; she wore a navy dress, white gloves, and a formal hat. The reading states In case
of an accident, anyone seeing her dead on the highway would know at once that she was a lady. (O
Connor 496). Not only is this foreshadowing, but the grandmother s outfit can also be seen as a
symbol of her skewed moral code and selfishness. When the grandmother carefully chose the outfit for
this trip, she was solely concerned with how she would appear in the event that she died on her trip.
She was not at all disturbed by the fact that, in the event that there was an accident, her son and
grandchildren would die as well. In the same paragraph that discusses the grandmother s outfit, the
colors red, blue, purple, and green are introduced. These colors are mentioned for the first time when
discussing the grandmother s clothes and the mother s kerchief, and they repeated throughout the
entire story. A connection can certainly be seen with the grandmother s blue dress, because when the
reader is first introduced to The Misfit, he is wearing blue jeans, and after his sidekicks kill Bailey,
they take his shirt embroidered with blue parrots. It may not be easy to pick up on the repetition of
these colors, but they are most

finances to do a maximum of four courses. Three of the courses are required courses and the last
course slot is elective. I will have to narrow down my choices to three electives and based on two
economic decision making principles, I will provide and support my choice.
To begin with, in the scenario, I have three different courses and I have to select one. The three
courses include business management, mathematics, and economics. These courses provide and
include different benefits and disadvantages and my choice should predict high benefits and

  • 3. The Issues Of The Field Of Psychology The field of psychology is steadily expanding due to the progression in technology, which is being driven by the advancement of civilization. More and more time is spent on the internet, which has gradually altered the method in which primary communication takes place. Previously face to face interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan, 2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet, psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. The first method utilized by mental health professionals is traditionally counseling and if those efforts fail, then the potential exists for adolescents to be placed on medications. In order to establish an informative baseline, the use of social media amongst children, adolescents and teenagers needs to be addressed. • 4. Observation Paper On Body Art Different fashions will come in and out of style but people want to be able to stand out in their own manner showing the world how they express themselves. A common form of self expression is by getting a piercing or tattoo, something that can set a person apart from the majority. Body piercings and tattoos on women at one time were unacceptable and distasteful in the United States. However over time women having assorted types of body art has become more acceptable in society. Today young women at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, use piercings and tattoos as a form of self expression that is vastly encouraged by peers and social media. Each woman has a different reason for why they personally want a piercing or a tattoo but are there some factors that have influenced the college community of women as a whole? As I started my research to find out what influences college aged women to get a piercing or tattoo, I wanted my observation to take place where many different types of college women could be found. I chose the campus library where women of all different ethnicities, religions, majors, and cultures could be found. This would allow me to see these women as individuals. I began my observation on October 23rd, 2017 at 12:00 pm, I sat at a table towards that back of the library so I was able to see the majority of the main floor. I observed many women, all belonging to different social groups, having different majors, and different senses of style, these women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Night and Maus Comparison of Maus and Night The Holocaust was a traumatic event that most people can t even wrap their minds around. Libraries are filled with books about the Holocaust because people are both fascinated and horrified to learn the details of what survivors went through. Maus by Art Spiegelman and Night by Elie Wiesel are two highly praised Holocaust books that illustrate the horrors of the Holocaust. Night is a traditional narrative that mainly focuses on Elie s experiences throughout the holocaust while Maus is a comic book that focuses on the relationship between Art and his father and the generational trauma Art is going through as well as his father s experiences during the Holocaust. Postmemory affected Art throughout his life because of his father s dramatic life experiences. Marianne Hirsch describes Postmemory with some hesitation because she thinks that it may imply that we are beyond memory and she doesn t want people to think that s what she means. Postmemory is different from regular memory because it is caused by generation gaps, like the gap between Art and Vladek. It is a powerful and very particular form of memory precisely because its connection to its object or source is mediated, not through recollection but through an imaginative investment and creation...Postmemory characterizes the experience of those who grow up dominated by narratives that preceded their birth, whose own belated stories are evacuated by the stories of the previous generation shaped by traumatic events that can be neither understood nor recreated (Hirsch, 1997: 22). Many of Arts memories from when he was a boy come from many from Postmemory. They are the memories that Vladek talks about from his earlier experiences from the Holocaust and of Anja. Management decision problem confronting Melissa Marcello and Julie Litzenberger and a corresponding marketing research problem and the linkages between the two. From the case study, it is evident that Marcello and Litzenberger face a critical management decision problem. Their respective firms encounter challenges while trying to convince clients about the role of marketing research (Malhotra, p. 781). Most clients are assertive that their firms are productive even without marketing research. In essence, prospective clients perceive professional marketing as a platform for unnecessary expenditures. • 8. Firefighting Research Papers Much like all events and natural phenomena that pose a threat to civilization, humans have learned to cope with and prevent the loss of human life and destruction of property in devastating blazes that can break out seemingly at random. Fighting fires was not always the science it is today, but due to the use of new technologies and the fundamental understanding of what fire is, how it spreads, how it can kill, and how it is stopped, our protocol when dealing with fires has increased our success rate and continues to grow with applications of engineering, chemistry, and meteorology. An understanding of how fires, wildfires in particular, work was a fundamental part in learning how to fight fires properly. This understanding entailed knowing what makes a fire a fire, what could cause a fire, what hinders and aids a fire s growth, what different types of fire there are, and the characteristics of said types. Without the basic understanding of these things, it would have made the evolution of aerial firefighting next to impossible. Fire is explained in a tetrahedron of necessary requirements a fire needs before it is able to spring to life. First, is sufficient fuel. Different types of fuel coincide with different types of terrain. In dry, sparse areas, dead grass and shrubs provide the best fuel. In lush, green forests, pine needles, leaves, twigs, and other such things typically underfoot makes for the best fuel . Second, is an oxidizing agent. This could be the oxygen ... This statement was said by Zaphod to Trillian in the Improbability Drive prototype ship, the Heart of Gold. Zaphod told Trillian this after she asked him if he could just put down his ego for an important matter. Two hitchhikers came aboard the Heart of Gold, and Zaphod just continued to watch this news about him, not giving a care about the two hitchhikers. The dolphins tried to tell the humans about the Earth coming to an end, but the humans misunderstood every message of the dolphins as amazing stunts and tricks. This last message, So long and thanks for all the fish which again misunderstood by humans as the dolphins just trying to do a stunt, was the least the dolphins can do for the doomed humans by thanking them for the fish the humans fed to them after every stunt they made. After this, the humans never cracked the message of the dolphins, and they never knew that the Earth is coming to an end until it did. The meaning of these words within the context of the story is simply that there were living beings on Earth and outside of Earth that was capable of communicating with humans, although they couldn t understand it or haven t acquired the capacity to listen to it such as the warning given by the Vogons of the demolition of Earth. In real life, this statement can be thought of how people leave others when they ve got what they wanted from them. After all the fish , symbolizing taxes, the humans, symbolizing people or citizens, gave to the dolphins, which symbolizes exploitive governments or political leaders, they just left them on Earth to die. Essay Analysis of Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti Analysis of Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti describes a cottage maiden who was seduced and used by the lord of the estate for which she worked. She was surprised and taken a back by the fact that someone so great and powerful could be slightly interested in her, and so she automatically fell in love with him. It wasn t until after he had slept with her that he left her for her cousin, Kate. The cottage maiden was devastated that he had done that to her. She felt unclean and unwanted. Men would then look down on you in disgust, as would friends and family. The poem demonstrates how a man can love a woman, then throw her away and move onto another as he pleases, and because he was a Lord the cottage maiden could not say a thing. This brings into light the difference between higher and lower class people. If the cottage maiden had said anything, people would not believe her and turn a blind eye to her and to her accusations. According to the maiden, Kate s love was not real. O cousin Kate my love was true, your love was writ in sand . This tells us that Kate s love was going to disappear and was only a temporary emotion which was later just blown away like writing in the sand, whilst the maiden s love was real. The maiden may just be saying this for revenge against Cousin Kate to try and make herself feel better but we do not know. The Lord s love towards the maiden was not real, His plaything and his love . Plaything and love are two very different contrasts with each other. Did he really love her for a while or was it all just a game to him? He used her and made her believe that he liked her then left her for Kate. The maiden was infatuated by the Lord and fell in love with him instantly. He used this, his power and his wealth against the maiden. The Lord casts off the female once he meets Kate, who is fairer than the narrator. This shows that males do not always get emotionally involved in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. The IRL Fetish Nathan Jurgenson Summary At one point not that long ago it was only possible to update a Facebook status from a phone if you subscribed to the text messaging service offered by the site that would allow you to text in an update. There was no such thing as scrolling through your newsfeed as you rode the subway to work or waited for class to start. In his essay The IRL Fetish , Nathan Jurgenson talks about the spread of technology saying: Each moment is oversaturated with digital potential: Texts, status updates, photos, check ins, tweets, and e mails are just a few taps away or pushed directly to your buzzing and chirping pocket computer anachronistically still called a phone (Jurgenson). • 34. The Theory Of Social Enterprise When I first start on this module, I feel really odd about what exactly a social enterprise is. In our daily life, there are tens of thousands businesses among us, but I have never thought about what makes those business exits, what aims they are trying to achieve and what kind of business they are. When thinking of social enterprise, I feel interested in how they run the business in a long term if it is not profit driven, and how they maintain the daily operation with perhaps very little social capital investment. My understanding of this module built upon everyday readings, seminar preparations and workshops, as well as group discussions, Gregson Centre s visit and learning packs of various social concepts from different groups day by day. What gave me the deep impressions at first is the three system of economy model proposed by Pearce (2003). The diagram is totally new to me but it is not that hard to understand. The diagram divides the economy into three systems and each of which can be seen to be based on deferent principles and values. Each system is about a different way of managing the economy. The first system can be referred to as the private sector, it is profit driven and their principle is to maximize returns for private shareholders. The first system operates through the free marketplace, meeting needs through the production of goods and the provision of services by companies. The second system can be conventionally referred to as the public sector. It is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Tropical Rainforest In Brazil Long, long ago, in a lively and vibrant tropical rainforest in Brazil, there lived three birds. First, there was Kiwi the parrot. He was the most beautiful bird in all of Brazil. His colorful feathers and bright plumage never failed to turn heads. Next, there was Victor the peacock. His gorgeous royal blue color and alluring tail feathers attracted all of the females. Last, and probably least, there was Toko the toucan. He had dull, dark feathers, and a short, ugly beak. Because of this, poor Toko had no friends and endured a lot of teasing. One day, when the forest habitat was buzzing with activity, Toko decided to go get some food. Why would Dalia want to see him? Toko flew to the cave of the gods to find Dalia waiting. She did not look happy. In fact, she looked quite the opposite. She glared at him. She launched into her argument as soon as he came in. You went against my ONE CONDITION! You brag so much! You have only gotten worse after I helped you. • 37. Use of Symbolism and Foreshadowing in Flannery O Connor s... The Use of Foreshadowing and Symbolism in A Good Man is Hard to Find When an author writes a story, he or she will generally use different writing techniques to create the piece. These techniques have the ability to turn a story into something truly unique, as they allow the story to unfold in it s own way. In the short story A Good Man is Hard to Find , author Flannery O Connor used the techniques of symbolism and foreshadowing throughout the entire piece to create a deeply captivating story, as so many of the details mentioned in the beginning of the story are glimpses of the end. The foreshadowing in A Good Man is Hard to Find can be seen almost immediately. Within the first paragraph, the protagonist known as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is very specific foreshadowing, because in the end of the story, all five on the trip die, and it seems that will lead to the end of their family line. O Connor also explains how the Grandmother dressed for the trip; she wore a navy dress, white gloves, and a formal hat. The reading states In case of an accident, anyone seeing her dead on the highway would know at once that she was a lady. (O Connor 496). Not only is this foreshadowing, but the grandmother s outfit can also be seen as a symbol of her skewed moral code and selfishness. When the grandmother carefully chose the outfit for this trip, she was solely concerned with how she would appear in the event that she died on her trip. She was not at all disturbed by the fact that, in the event that there was an accident, her son and grandchildren would die as well. In the same paragraph that discusses the grandmother s outfit, the colors red, blue, purple, and green are introduced. These colors are mentioned for the first time when discussing the grandmother s clothes and the mother s kerchief, and they repeated throughout the entire story. A connection can certainly be seen with the grandmother s blue dress, because when the reader is first introduced to The Misfit, he is wearing blue jeans, and after his sidekicks kill Bailey, they take his shirt embroidered with blue parrots.
