Skydiving Physics
Just because the air s invisible, doesn t mean it s not there. The terminal velocity is when a body is
falling form a jet reaching zero acceleration that is because of air resistance. As skydiving is formed by
jumping out of a plane so from skydiving it changed into free falling.Air resistance an upward force
exerted on an object as it falls by air, skydiving can be knowen as a sport of descending partly from
parachute. This sport can give you the chance to feel like your flying but really you are just falling

If you were to spread all of your limbs out, it causes a much greater surface area, causing more air to
collide with your stomach, slowing you down.As for parachutes, it needs to cover a wide enough
surface area in order to cause enough air resistance to slow the mass down dramatically, that s why a
huge snap up occurs when you release your parachute, the huge amount of added air resistance at one
time causes such a dramatic slow down. But! Circular parachutes need a small hole at the tip in order
to prevent a flip around. Air doesn t want to be resisted, so it tries its best to cause the smoothest path
possible, even if it needs to flip that parachute. So,

Essay on Homosexuality Throughout History
Homosexuality can be tracked throughout history. In ancient Rome, philosophers, such as Socrates,
were having sexual relations with their students. They believed it was a part of becoming a man. The
Bible, one of the oldest books in literature, discusses homosexual practices among the citizens of
Sodom and Gomorrah. Some of the most influential people throughout history were discovered to be
homosexual: Susan B. Anthony, William Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Tennessee Williams.
Homosexuality is worldwide and has a global impact on society; it transcends borders, cultures, and
governments. The homosexual society even bears its own international flag, a rainbow which signifies
the bond between different people all over the world. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research was conducted before the start of the Gay Rights movement which has contributed to
changes in data. In 1983, after the start of the Gay Rights movement, a study of 147 homosexuals was
taken where 35% of the tested said that their sexual orientation was hereditary (Cameron 2). The
inconsistency of data is predictable due to the change in thinking because of the Gay Rights
movement. The answers from volunteers became more about the political struggle than the need for
accurate scientific data. Although the elementary research did not prove that environmental situations
are an underlying factor in determining sexual orientation, it did open a path for future research.
Clearly, research over sexual orientation has been fueled by the desire for answers to complex
questions. Researchers have tried to determine any physical factors that may alter sexual preference.
Past research was inconclusive and unsupported mainly because of elementary equipment. As
technology has advanced, so has the research. Between 1983 and 1991, postmortem brains were taken
from three hospitals in Southern California. A certain region of the brain known as the AC (anterior
commissure) was evaluated and 34 homosexual men, 75 heterosexual men, and 84 heterosexual
women were studied (Allen 7199). The results showed that the homosexual males AC size was
matched closer to

Mental Illnesses In Adolescents
In cities around the world, teenagers and young adults alike constantly worry about their work, their
future opportunities, and social contact with their peers and coworkers. They emotionally and
mentally exhaust themselves over trivial matters due to society s pressure to do well. With the constant
feeling of stress, these individuals develop mental illnesses and disorders that immensely affect their
behavior. These illnesses can range from anxiety disorder, stress disorder, depression, to even Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, unlike physical illnesses, many health professionals tend
to disregard mental illnesses, labeling them as simply a figment of insanity. The lack of emotional and
mental counseling for urban youth is detrimental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an article titled Teenage Mental Health Crisis by Geraldine Bedell, it states: Rates of
depression and anxiety among teenagers have increased by 70% in the past 25 years. The number of
children and young people turning up in A E with a psychiatric condition has more than doubled since
2009 and, in the past three years, hospital admissions for teenagers with eating disorders have also
almost doubled / In a 2016 survey for Parent Zone, 93% of teachers reported seeing increased rates of
mental illness among children and teenagers and 90% thought the issues were getting more severe,
with 62% dealing with a pupil s mental health problem at least once a month and an additional 20%
doing so on a weekly or even daily basis . The age group most affected by mental disorders are
adolescents, more often living in urban areas than suburban. The majority of these adolescents are
students stressed over exams, their future opportunities, social acceptance, and expectations placed on
youth by society. Adults are aware of this, however, many do not employ help from counselors to
speak to the troubled youth. Perhaps exams are unavoidable in the school system, but it is possible to
console students and let them know that their test scores do not define them, listen to their troubles,
and offer advice. A large fraction of the population does not realize that mental illness is not a joke. It

The Movie Wall-E
To progress as a society, we must first look back at all the hardships faced throughout the years. We
must look at the world leaders who were able to convince entire countries to eliminate millions of
people different than themselves. We must understand the groups of extremists spreading terror and
fear across the globe, and we must control people in power abusing their positions to benefit
themselves and their agendas. Instead of ignoring these human mistakes, we must break them down
and figure out how they could happen. Artificial Intelligence relies on our abilities to learn from our
mistakes and mold our future in a way that will be beneficial and equal to all people. This paper will

Life with A.I. will be easier if used properly. Many tasks that people face today will become much
simpler and less time consuming allowing for time to be spent more productively. Tasks such as
shopping and transportation will become automated for you. The average person will be able to spend
more time doing what they please rather than the tasks plagued with us today. The key to all this
however is ensuring that this new time be spent bettering society rather than becoming lazy and
unproductive such as what the movie Wall E predicts happening. In Wall E the ordinary citizen spends
their time in front of a monitor watching shows while technology does everything for them. This too
can happen in our future. A.I. must be developed to benefit all types of people. The problem with
creating such an effective machine is that one machine will be able to do the jobs of several humans.
As humans, we need to stay ahead of the game and prepare ourselves to work in different fields in
years to come. Jobs such as watering, fast food restaurants, golf caddies, and many other simple yet
required tasks will be overtaken by robots. These jobs will take away a lot of work for the lower class,
which is why it will become vital to attend colleges and universities to better oneself and the skills one
has in order to always be needed by society. The push for A.I. should go hand in hand with the push

The Movie The Wolf On Wall Street Essay
Daring to Defy Drug Abuse
If you have ever seen the movie The Wolf on Wall Street, there is no doubt you have seen the effects
drugs can have. Leonardo DiCaprio portrays a high strung stock broker reliant on a multitude of
illegal drugs to keep up with his hectic life style. His addiction gets so severe that at one point in the
movie, he is lying on the floor, unable to move due to the drugs effects on his body. Even though the
movie is set in the 90 s, a decade infamous for its use of drugs, today, drug usage and abuse has never
been more of an issue. According to Alice Park (2016), More people died of drug overdoses in 2014 in
the U.S. than in any other year (p.49). What people fail to realize is that drug abuse effects more than
just the individual that uses them. The loved ones trying to support the user, the community the user is
in, can all be affected by drug abuse. In fact, all members of society are affected by the abuse of drugs.
In short, no one benefits from drug abuse. In the words of the Nation Institute of Drug Abuse, Drug
abuse is a major public health problem that impacts society on multiple levels. Directly or indirectly,
every community is affected by drug abuse and addiction, as is every family. Drugs take a tremendous
toll on our society at many levels ( Magnitude, 2016).
Obviously, drugs abuse has the most effect on the individual. Drugs of any sort have pronounced
impacts on a user s personal life, mental and physical health as well as their

Linda De Pauw s contribution of Land of the Unfree: Legal Limitations on Liberty in Revolutionary
America , written in a gender method discusses the slavery issue that was carefully overlooked during
the time that the Declaration of Independence was composed by Thomas Jefferson. De Pauw discusses
the irony of the colonists as they fought for their independence at the same time maintaining the
enslavement of the majority of the colonies population. Her article dared to voice the unspoken notion
that previous historians carefully avoided the issues of slavery. During this time there was
enslavements of both blacks and whites, however, there was different legal restrictions for each
classification of color.
De Pauw, discusses the majority and minority statistics, reflecting the gender history of the population
of the thirteen colonies during this time. Statistics shows the majority of the population were indeed
the less fortunate enslaved blacks, indentured white males and all females. Ironically the minority
numbers were the actual white males that pursued the liberty of this nation. De Pauw proceeds to
analyze the psychological legal ramifications of the majority of the population. She discusses the legal

LITERATURE From the time Momofuku Ando developed the first instant noodles, they have
dominated the noodle industry, and its effects can still be seen today. Their main customers are the
college students and other people who are always on the go, people who do not have time to cook
breakfast, or people who are lazy to. Furthermore, according to english.ndtv.com there have been high
amounts of plasticizers in instant noodles in China. The process of making the noodles is what affects
the water absorbency of the noodles. In fact according to Beijing time progress technology
development co. LTD., instant noodles are made out of a variety of doughs, which are formed to make
noodles, cooked, then deep fried in oil. They are then put through air knives, which does not however,
remove all the oil. This is why instant noodles contain such high amounts of oil, which causes kidney
stones, and prevents it from absorbing water. Oil is not the only unhealthy

Modern Day Revelation Research Paper
Revelation is of the basis of our church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Without
revelation, the gospel would have never been restored to this earth. Through revelation,
especially in this modern day, the prophet Joseph Smith was able to restore the fullness of the
gospel. Heavenly Father has made it possible for us all to receive revelation and has given us all
of the tools to do so in these days. Understanding how and why we receive revelation and the
importance of modern day revelation helps us to see how much God truly loves us.
In the Bible Dictionary, revelation is described as being translated from a Greek word
apocalypse, whose meaning is to make known or uncover (p. 716). We, as members of The
Church of Jesus Christ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not

The Holy Ghost is the way in which we can receive revelation; however, personal
revelations may come in several different ways. For example, they may be conveyed in dreams,
visions or inspiration. President Boyd K. Packer stated, Inspiration comes more as a feeling
than as a sound (p. 20). We must be in tune with our feelings in order to sense the answers

Comparison of Neurological Assessment Tools Gcs Avpu and Four
An assessment of the level of consciousness (LOC) should be carried out during the primary survey of
all patients, using the ABCDE approach Cole (2009: 28). Any initial or subsequent reduction in the
LOC of the patient may be caused by hypoxia; hypovolaemia; head injury; drug or medicine use;
hypoglycaemia; hypothermia or alcohol ingestion (Cole, 2009:44).
An assessment of the LOC of the patient is vital for an accurate pain assessment and the
administration of analgesia, and the subsequent assessment of its efficacy (Rose, et al. 2011). Regular
evaluation of a patient s LOC helps detect the onset of hypothermia and hypovolaemia. Muehlberger,

Staff assessing these patients found themselves recording GCS scores lower than what they felt was
appropriate.
Since the GCS became widely adopted and its use became expanded beyond the original intention of
the scale, certain additional limitations have been identified (Laureys, 2005). Verbal responses become
difficult or impossible to assess when patients have been sedated or intubated (Majerus, 2005).
Some clinicians feel that scoring eye opening is not sufficient to indicate brainstem arousal and a
number of coma scales have been proposed that include brainstem reflexes, most of them more
complex than the GCS scale (Majerus, 2005). The Glasgow Liège scale is the simplest variation
proposed (Born, et al., 1982). It combines the GCS with five brainstem reflexes, but has not been
widely implemented outside Belgium, its country of origin (Laureys, 2005).
Finally, the remaining weaknesses of the GCS scale relate to the assessment of comatose patients. The
GCS becomes unreliable in ongoing care for monitoring coma and recovery through vegetative or
minimally conscious states, before returning to consciousness (Laureys, 2005).
The main advantage of the GCS is its simplicity, allowing it to be utilised by the full range of
clinicians, with a minimal amount of training (Matis, 2008).

The Pros And Cons Of Free Trade
Free trade is a capitalist concept that advocates for a seamless and free flow of goods and services that
is virtually unhindered by state imposed restrictions or trade barriers. Over the years, the American
government has signed multiple agreements with governments across the world, to encourage trade
between the continental United States and other countries around the globe. Indeed, bilateral
agreements ranging from AGOA, NAFTA, and TPP have been signed by successive Washington
administrations, ostensibly to encourage Americans to reap financial benefits from global trade. The
open and free trade idea is anchored on the maxim that no country possesses all the services and
products that it needs, at any given time. Countries across the Americas fro instance and by extension
globally have seen a proliferation in the number of treaties and preferential trade agreements by
economies to boost trade. In this regard, some countries are well endowed with extensive natural
resources such as oil, gas, and gold, while others may lack them but still need to use these resources.
Nevertheless, the sovereign is permitted under international trade laws to impose certain levels of
trade restrictions for valid reasons such as protecting its infant industries and taming dumping of
substandard goods. In this regard, the world is moving towards protectionism with scores of countries
imposing tariff and non tariff barriers as well as the complete ban of certain class of goods from
overseas or

Martin Luther s Reformation Research Paper
There has always been religion on earth probably as long as man has been, throughout every walk of
life. During the 6th century institutional church reach a new high of lows. In a sense it could be
considered corrupt or impure. This was a time where sin was relieved from you by the act of
purchasing indulgences, or making a pilgrimage. This led many pure at heart question the framework
of their churches. Most notably when the Church of Rome pushed selling indulgences to collect
money for the rebuilding of Saint Peters cathedral. This led to extreme criticism, especially to those
who held the aristolic ideals close to heart. With all that was going on, the movement needed a face, a
person to take the thoughts and feelings many had and put it out to the world without holding back.
The backbone of this reformation was left to the son of a coal miner, Martin Luther [1483 1546]. He
chose to discontinue his pursuit in the study of law and became an Augustinian monk. From then on,
as a doctor of theology at the University of Wittenberg, he spoke in opposition of the church.
Providing extreme sermons and essays that offered solutions to what he says as the misery and
wretchedness of Christendom. Luther strongly believed that sin was part of being human. Yet the way

Luther has challenged the Church of Rome with. His views in my mind were those of a clear minded

Why Is Gladiator Considered A Good Person
Society always judges people on their actions, thinking about how moral or immoral. In the movie
Gladiator by Ridley Scott, they explore the wrongs of man. The protagonist, Maximus Decimus
Meridius is portrayed as a good person because of his honorability. On the other hand, Commodus is
portrayed as bad or evil because of the way he treats the good person. While stories usually have good
and bad characters, there s a sign on how we know which one is bad and which one isn t. People
usually get attracted to the protagonist rather than the antagonist. In Gladiator, Meridius is shown as a
good person because of his honorability and pride. Three weeks from now, I will be harvesting my

Plastic Surgery And Its Effects
Plastic surgery has advanced drastically in the past few years. Before plastic surgery was an option, to
correct a body part from injury, disease or an illness they had to just deal with their appearance. Today
many people are getting plastic surgery to improve their appearance because they believe in their
minds that something is wrong with them base on what our sociality standard are. I think it is an
unnecessary surgery and many people put their health and well being at risk. Some people even lose
their lives because the toxins have leaked in their body, face lifts leaves some people deformed, and
mentally handicap.
The history of plastic surgery originated in the early 800 B.C; when surgeons in India reconstructed
broken noses, for people who had taken off as a form of punishment. In World War I many plastic
surgery techniques were developed in order to correct soldier s disfigured facial injuries. (History of
Plastic Surgery) In the beginning, breast argumentation first started to women with micromastia,
which is, an underdevelopment of breast tissue due to a congenital disorder. In 2007 nearly twelve
million cosmetic procedures were performed, the top five were breast argumentation, liposuction,

Apollo 11 Persuasive Essay
It was a long anticipated summer night, when millions of Americans crowded around their bulky
television screens. It was 1969, America had recently passed through the height of the Cold War, but
their relationship with the Soviet Union continued to become more hostile. There was no clear winner
in sight, and America was desperate for a definitive victory, it was this moment, in this very moment
that they finally had one, and they clung to it. This moment was, of course, the Apollo 11 moon
landing on the 20th of July, 1969. However, as with many famous events captured in the public eye, it
wasn t long before conspiracies began to unfold. Some began to question the validity of the
photographs and videos associated with the moon landings, others made claims that the government
couldn t possibly have had the technology necessary to successfully land on the moon, and some even
went as far as to point out the exact set and director that supposedly filmed the hoaxed moon landings.
I first became aware of the conspiracy surrounding the moon landings about two years ago when I

NASA without considering any evidence on either side of the argument, but recently, the topic was
brought up in conversation and it stuck an interest within me. So in this essay I will throw my

Like the tropical rainforest, the temperate rainforest is split up into layers. The topmost layer is called

Differences Between Chinese Medicine And Western Medicine
On the Development of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine in China Today from the Differences
between Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine Chinese medicine and Western medicine are two
different branches of medical field, these two medical systems respectively originate in China and
Europe. But with the introduction of Western medicine in China, the debate on the two has never
stopped. In fact, Chinese medicine and Western medicine are completely different academic systems,
the two in the theoretical basis, diagnostic methods, therapies, the nature of drugs, etc. are
significantly different. Moreover, in the practice of modernday China, Chinese medicine and Western
medicine binary coexist.

In fact, Chinese medicine has been marginalized, and western medicine has become the status of
mainstream medicine in China and world. But according to the statistics from World Health
Organization, 4 billion people across the world use Chinese herbal medicine in their medical
treatment, which account for 80% of the world population. Being representative of purely natural
medicine, Chinese medicine has become the medicine with the most promising future of development.
Some well known medicine companies in western countries, therefore, take advantage of the bountiful
resource of Chinese medicine, plentiful TCM prescriptions of Chinese patent medicine without much
sense of protecting their intellectual property rights, abundant resource of Chinese herbal medicine,
and low cost human resources in China, and trap all kinds of technical hindrance to prevent Chinese
patent medicine in China from entering international markets to compete; while at the same time, the
western companies import from China the low priced raw materials of Chinese medicine, and then
after the processing and selling the products labeled with their own brands, they gain huge amount of
profits from the international market and even back in China. (Zhou, abstract) So, in the face of this
situation, China has been reviving traditional Chinese medicine since the 1970s. In order to revitalize

The Invisible Mother And Lennie Analysis
The Invisible Mother and Lennie
When a person thinks of a true motherly bond they most likely think of warmth, happiness, someone
safe, and reliable. In of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, Lennie has to live a life without his mother
and because of that it affects the rest of his life . Not having access to the sacred feeling of a mother s
love can alter anyone s life. That is why Lennie realizes he needs something to fill that hole in his
heart with something that at least resembles a mother s love. If that bond is taken away then a person
is left bare to the elements of the cold harsh world. There is something about soft creatures that gives
Lennie a sense of serenity and inner peace. The inner peace he gets is the reason why Lennie from Of
Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, loves mice, puppies, rabbits, and anything soft because it
represents a true motherly love he never had. Mice in the novel has a deeper symbolic meaning than
just it being a petite pet. What Lennie loves about mice is their reliability and stability. These soft
natured mice are so easy to find for Lennie. Mice also have a motherly quality that Lennie never had.
A true mother is known for always being there no matter what. In the beginning of the book Lennie
and George are walking towards their new job, Lennie is holding a mouse but George catches him,
George says You gonna give me that mouse or do i have to sock you? ... Lennie reluctantly reached in
his pocket. I don t know why I can t keep it. It ain t nobody s mouse. I didn t steal it. I found it lyin
right beside the road (9). As long as Lennie is looking for mice then the mice are alway there for
Lennie. The only thing stopping him most of the time is George. That is why Lennie needs to sneak
around to get what he loves. Even though he loves the mice he is a danger to them. In a way when
Lennie is with the mice he feels like he has mother again but when a mouse bites him he goes back to
reality and kills it. When he kills the mice he feels remorse and then makes the desperate search to
find something to replace it. It s important because Lennie never had an accepting person s shoulder to
cry on. Even though Lennie has a mental handicap the need for reliability is evident.

Reflection About Religion
I Thought Religion was Supposed to be Simple! I remember being a young, naïve boy getting ready to
venture off to my first semester of college at the Lord s school: Brigham Young University. I was
ready to live away from home, stay out however late I felt, and eat as much ice cream as I wanted with
no repercussions. Life was going to be amazing! My dreams were soon shattered as I was bombarded
with homework and essays from all my other classes, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel:
Religion. I was especially excited to embark on the journey of religion as it had always played an
important role in my life and I couldn t wait to explore seemingly endless verses of scripture and
prophecy. I sat in my new religion class jittering, for the long awaited moment had finally come. The
professor began class and I was immediately blind sided by a barrage of essays, readings, and study
packets. This couldn t be right! I sat and listened in horror only to find that my safe haven from
homework and stress was being annihilated and there was nothing I could do but wallow is my
disappointment and self doubt. This class quickly became my most involved and strenuous class. I
looked around the classroom only to see that I was not alone as the faces of my fellow classmates
showed the same shock and awe as my own. At the end of that atrocious semester, I concluded that
religion classes should not have grades, papers, or a mandatory attendance policy. Now, before I am

Using Critical Thinking Skills For A Post College World
Trigger warning: This may cause you to change your previously held beliefs! It s a privilege to learn
about racism instead of experiencing it your whole life. If you do not have to think about it, it s a
privilege. If you did not want to read this paper out of fear because of the trigger warning, many
universities have started allowing students to do this with many of their assignments. Universities
were created to help foster the freedom of the human mind, but many have started to focus attention to
micro aggressions and the use of trigger warnings, this is causing students to be unprepared for the
post college world because they view certain topics as taboo, hold on to their beliefs, and focus on
punishment rather than education. Students will encounter different views and ideas in a post college
world requiring them to use critical thinking skills they polish in college. Students come to college
with many different backgrounds hoping to gain many new experiences to help them be successful in
the world. In the elementary field, there are many different skills teachers hoping to teach students, so
they are prepared for the post academic world; they are called the 21st century skills. A few of them
are collaboration, cultural education as well as problem solving. Collaboration is a skill that could help
the student s be successful in any career they strive for, but the skill would also help them interact with

Thanks all! Ms. Schwarck yells as everyone runs out the door and races to their cars to check their

Kenny greets me, puts me on her checklist of students that have been checked in and asks me, Can

service hour, I decide to help her. I grab a snack, sit down and talk with some other Jr. High kids that
have rambled through the door. Some small children wave at me as all the kids rush outside. Very tired
from a vigorous day at school, I sit down on the benches under the church awning and await to help
Mrs. Kenny. Suddenly, a man dressed in all white and carrying a vacuum, walks past me, strolls
through the parking lot, and sprints into the school. Probably some new janitor, I say to myself.
Abruptly, Mrs. Kenny taps me on my shoulder and takes me inside to help her. She begins to write in
some folders while I read a picture book and, in awkward silence, wait for something to do. You know

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the prize fighter of the Japanese Imperial Navy. Shrouded in myth and
legend, it was a plane for which the United Stated had no answer. It was commissioned as, a triple
threat: an escort with the extreme range needed to accompany bombers deep into China and later to
cover vast Pacific distances; a point defense interceptor with a rapid rate of climb to hit attacking
bombers before they reached their targets; and a consummate dogfighter with extreme
maneuverability (Wilkinson Myth of the Zero 25). It had a reputation as the most agile plane in the

Redy-Made Identities from Mercedes Benz C Class
Advertising why your product is better than other products in the market, is not enough to make
consumers buy your product anymore. These days companies need to relate to their customers
emotionally and logically. During Super Bowl I saw this Mercedes Benz C class commercial. It is
called Perfect Harmony. The commercial was about how everything lines up perfect ones in a spell.
The commercial shows the scene, where all the planets line up in a straight line. Later on the scene
background voice says that, When that perfect time comes, makes sure you are in the correct spot and
the right vehicle. In this Mercedes commercial, Mercedes tries to emotional branding with their
consumers, as well as they are attempting to sell ready made identities. In the Mercedes Benz C250
commercial Mercedes is manipulating their consumers by selling them a ready made identity. This is
explained by Douglas Rushkoff, who said that, Brands become more than just a mark of quality; they
become an invitation to a longed for lifestyle, a ready made identity. What Mr. Rushkoff is trying to
say is that, brands are not just a product or a mark of quality anymore. Brands have become a ready
made identity, for instance, if an individual owns a Mercedes that individual considered as a
successful and well doing in their life. The Mercedes C class commercial does not talk about the
features of the car, or the technical aspects of the car. Based on that, Mercedes Benz is not a car brand

Corona Beer Case Study Essay
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Introduction: Corona Beer, produced in Mexico by Grupo Modelo since 1922, entered the United
States beer market in 1979, and by 2007, was the number one imported beer in the United States (with
1.9% market share of the global beer industry) having recently taken that position from Heineken, a
rival (with 1.6% market share of the global beer industry). Corona used a broad differentiation
strategy with a fun in the sun marketing image. It also achieved strategic success by using a distinctive
glass bottle and providing a light tasting beer that attracted a broader market.
Problem identification: The global beer industry was experiencing increasing competition due to the

Its unique glass bottle for distinctiveness, multiple brand selections, international operations, and
unobtrusive taste were also parts of its strategy.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
A long term strategic management issue for GM is the increasing global competition due to the
mergers and acquisitions of its competitors. The partnership of Heineken and FEMSA (Mexico s
second largest beer company in terms of market share) was formed for the sole purpose to dethrone
Corona as the best selling import beer in the United States. To make matters worse, there were also
rumours of large mergers and acquisitions of mid tier brewers in order to better compete and expand
globally. In addition, with the introduction of NAFTA, Canadian and U.S. competitors were slowly
beginning to penetrate the Mexican market, which had the potential to chip away at the majority
market share GM enjoyed.
In the short term, GM was slowly losing local market share to FEMSA, who continued to experience
steady growth, handled its own distribution channels, had immunity to the unstable peso, and had the
top six best rated beers brewed in Mexico according to RateBeer.com.
GM needed to find a way to protect its long sustained success in the domestic market, and build as a
global player, which had everything to do with its strategy in developing foreign markets. Given the
volatility of the Mexican economy, GM needed to seek international markets

William Faulkner is one of the best American authors of the early Twentieth Century. Born on
September 25, 1897, in New Albany, Mississippi, Faulkner enjoys his younger years painting, reading

The Caricature Of OCD
Many famous people throughout history lived a life with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It s been the
center focus of many films, such as Matchstick Men (2003) that centered around a phobic con artist
played by Nicolas Cage. The main character suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and
Agoraphobia. A combination that left the character in an anxiety riddled isolation triggered by an
emotional revelation. Hollywood doesn t often shine a positive or accurate light on psychological
disorders. The caricature of OCD could be considered accurate on some level. The stigma and beliefs
associated with OCD date back centuries and often intertwine with beliefs and teachings in the
Catholic church. It is not limited to the Catholic church; however, it is commonly associated with the
religion due to the larger scale of the religion and the approaches towards the disorder addressed by
the Pope. Religious Scrupulosity is often associated with obsessions involving blasphemy, committing
a sin, behaving morally, purity, going to hell, death, and a loss of one s impulse control. The worry is
excessive and can result in behavioral compulsions such as, but not limited to, unnecessary trips to

The War in Vietnam
America became increasingly involved in the war in Vietnam, mainly because of the domino theory,
the fear of the spread of communism. If South Vietnam fell to the communist the US feared that
communism would spread throughout Asia and to neighbouring countries. The influence of the
previous presidents also caused another main reason for the US to become more involved in Vietnam.
But there is one underlining fact; if the French had not left, America would not have become involved
in Vietnam at all. There are many more reasons for America to increase involvement in Vietnam, and
all of these can be listed in long and short term reasons, such as Domino theory being long term and ...

What Eisenhower wanted was to hit Communism at source, the domino, which was Vietnam. There
was already domino s which fell, China fell (turned communist) in 1949, and communism had also
spread to the western side of the world, just 90 miles off America, in Cuba under Fidel Castro. Cuba
was being supplied by the USSR, who had been communist since 1917. America had been at war with
the USSR (the Cold War) in fear Communism spreading. With other countries (like Cuba) turning
communist, it gave Russia more power. It was a competition of ideology, which system worked best;
communism or democracy. The USSR supplied Cuba with Nuclear Missile s; this sparked the Cuban
Missile Crisis, which proved the Domino Theory and the need to prop up Vietnam (the domino) to
stop it falling and communism spreading. The Soviet s had already expanded through Europe, the
whole of Eastern Europe falling to communism, Churchill said, An Iron Curtain has drawn over
Europe . This gave a reason for America to increase involvement in Vietnam, to stop another domino
falling.
Aside from the Domino Theory, another main reason why America got involved was because of the
French Exit in Vietnam. The main point for this reason is that if the French hadn t left Vietnam
America wouldn t have to get involved at all. When the French left, it left a void in Vietnam, that USA

Symbolism In Slaughterhouse-Five
In the novel Slaughterhouse Five the author, Kurt Vonnegut, discusses some issues in society that he

When writing about war in Slaughterhouse Five , Vonnegut tries to show the reality of war and the

The Paleolithic Era started in about 200,000 BCE and ended in 10,000 BCE. The Paleolithic peoples
were foragers, people who moved around to find food. They hunted and gathered their food.
Paleolithic people ate meat, fruit, and wild grasses. Although the Paleolithic diet may seem more
desirable than what the average person eats today, it is not. The average Modern diet is better than the
Paleolithic diet because it reduces diseases and other disorders and has many added benefits.
The first reason the average Modern diet is better than the Paleolithic diet is that it reduces diseases
and other disorders. The average modern diet reduces the chance of cardiovascular disease,

This is because the Paleolithic diet does not accurately represent Paleolithic people s lifestyle.
According to https://www.precisionnutrition.com humans began eating grasses at least three million
years ago so grasses should be included in the Paleolithic diet. Next, Paleolithic people had a much
more active life style than humans today. This is important because in order to get some of the benefits
of the Paleolithic diet modern people have to not only eat the diet but live the lifestyle of our early
ancestors. Finally, the diet of Paleolithic people depended on where they lived. This is important
because the fruits and vegetables in the Modern diet are the same ones someone could eat if they were
in the Paleodiet except the Modern diet has more

Innovative Technologies during the Civil War
Throughout the first half of the nineteenth century, there were many new inventions, and innovative
technologies that played a major role in the civil war. At the time of the Civil War, many of the
newfound war weapons in the Union proved essential for its victory. The new weapons showed a great
change in the technological world. During the time of the Civil war, Pistols, and other basic handheld,
guns were very popular, for a soldier to have. It was known for its capability of hitting a target from a
short distance. Before people started changing the way weapons were, a small handheld pistol gun,
that held one bullet, was considered, the best before, innovations, were performed. infantry soldiers
would use muskets with one bullet at a time, shooting as far as 250 yards. However, if exact persistent
location for the bullet to hit is needed, 80 yards would be the furthest distance to shoot from. If a
soldier had a pistol as his main weapon, commanders, and generals, taught them different war tactics
on getting closer, to your target to be within the 80 yards, with a pistol.
The Colt handgun is a PIstol, ranged from .36 .44 caliber, a steel handheld gun, with nearly the same
distances as a regular musket. The .44 caliber colt handgun could reach about 25 50 yards further in all
aspects, of shooting. The Colt was well known by everyone during the Civil war, and before. Each

Dante And The Road Of Humanism
Dante and the Road to Humanism During the Renaissance, the ideology of humanism became
extremely popular. After the black plague people presumed that God had abandoned them. As a result,
they began to search for their own answers through observation and experimentation; this method was
called empiricism. Through this, man began to place himself at the center of the universe instead of
God. Individuals began to embrace their own talents and spend less time worrying about the next life
and more living in the current one. Humanism was also developed from a desire to re live the
Classical time period, or the golden age; therefore, the humanistic education consisted of studies of
Greek, Latin, art, music and philosophy. This contemporary way of thinking inspired many
philosophers and writers. Throughout Dante s work he emphasizes the concept of humanism, and it is
this work that influenced many other philosophers including Petrarch and Boccaccio. Dante Alighieri
was born in 1265 in Florence, Italy. Dante was an Italian poet, prose writer, literary theorist, moral
philosopher, and political thinker. In the thirteenth century, groups called the Guelfs and the
Ghibellines arose. The Guelfs supported the pope, and around 1290 they divided into two groups, the
White and Black Guelfs. Dante was closer to the White party which was composed of merchants and
traders; the Black group consisted of banking families. In 1301 Dante left Florence on a mission to

A Caged Bird Persuasive Analysis
Being brave when you know you might fail might be considered winning in its own way. Is being
brave standing up to that bully or is being brave as simple as talking to your crush? When you fail on
something you have to rise above it and look on the brighter side. Is failure something to frown upon
or is it something to rise against? Maybe failure is not getting a perfect score on a test or maybe it s
not winning that big game. Whatever your definition of failure is just remember that us as humans
make mistakes but we can learn from them. In Maya Angelou s poem Caged Bird she shows how the
free bird was brave enough to become free and how the caged bird has failed to become free. In
Langston Hughes poem Mother to Son he shows how the past affected the mother and she s telling her
son to be brave enough and strive for the best. In Robert Frost s poem The Road Not Taken he shows
how difficult it is to choose what path to take for the future. Though we make mistakes and fail we can
rise above them and set goals for our future. In Maya Angelou s poem Caged Bird she shows that the
free bird was brave enough to become free and soar through the sky but she also shows how the caged
bird fails to become free because it just sits and waits. Though the free bird is free how did it become
free? The free bird most likely made mistakes but that didn t stop it from achieving its goal of
becoming free. In stanza 1 it states A free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream

Description Of A Night Of Sleep Essay
Snezhana Longwell
RESP 240
September 12, 2016 During a night of sleep, we pass through 5 cycles, with 4 stages being non rapid
eye movement sleep (NREM) and the last being rapid eye movement sleep (REM). The sleep cycle
follows a pattern where it starts over every 90 minutes.1 When in stage one, you are in a very light
state of sleep, and you can be very easily awakened. Eye movement just starts to slow down and
muscles begin to relax.2 Then entering stage two, brain waves become slower and eye movement
ceases, sometimes displaying spindles on the epochs.2 During this stage your heart rate and breathing
remain the same, but your body starts to cool down as your temperature begins to decrease.1 Upon
entering stages 3 and 4, you enter a deep sleep and it is hard to be awakened. In stage 3, your brain
waves are very slow, or known as delta waves on the epoch.2 During these stages, you begin to breath
slower, your blood pressure falls, and your muscles are fully relaxed. The last and final stage is known
as REM sleep, and it occurs about every 90 minutes. You start to breathe faster, your eyes move very
rapidly, heart rate goes up, and muscles are paralyzed.2 This is the stage where you dream.1
Polysomnography is a sleep study test that is used to identify any sleep disorders. During the sleep
study, thing such as brain waves, oxygen levels, eye movement and heart rate are recorded throughout
the entire sleep.3 Snap electrodes are used to record things like heart rate

Patrick Henry Allusion
Lawyer and Politician, Patrick Henry, in his speech, Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death (03/23/1775),
argues why they shouldn t sit there and wait and not do anything when war is coming. As well as not
letting it be, if they don t fight they ll become slaves of the British and he doesn t want that for the
people wanting them to fight for their freedom. He supports his claim by first going to the president
and letting him know that for their country they should take in consideration the war that s coming, his
personal belief is not to lay back, there is no backup with no time to waste, while questioning freedom
and slavery, him being a natural man he believes that illusion of hope is false, finally not being
dishonest with themselves and fight. Henry s purpose is to get themselves to stand up for their
freedom and not to become slaves, and not be under British ruling and keep what they have. He
implies an aggravated and raffle tone for the Second Virginia Convention, and the President. ... Show

Mental Health And Substance Use Disorder
Serious mental illness (SMI) impacts a person s thinking, mood, capability to maintain relationships,
and overall ability to maintain normal activities of daily living. Treatment is necessary for all
individuals with a serious mental illness. Along with family and friends, the community is impacted
when supportive treatment options cannot be obtained by a person with a SMI. The Omaha/Council
Bluffs metropolitan area, along with the state of Nebraska, have challenges to overcome to ensure this
population is adequately cared for. Any person with a mental health issue have a lot to overcome.
Undoubtedly, the state of Nebraska needs to stay on track to help them overcome these obstacles.
Starting in 1996, Congress passed The Mental Health Parity Act of 1996 and the Balanced Budget Act
of 1997, designating mental health and substance use disorder services be improved (Mann, 2013).
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) expanded mental health and
substance use disorder benefits to include parity laws at the state level (Beronio, Po, Skopec, Glied,
2013). These laws, in accordance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), have
helped 16.4 million uninsured people to obtain health insurance coverage including those with a
serious mental illness (Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, 2015).
Today, Nebraska and Iowa, the two states that hold the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area,
require mental health coverage to be equal

Buddhist Monk Murders Case Study
Forensic Evidence Collected and Processed in the
Wat Promkunaram Buddhist Temple Murders For the Midterm Writing Assignment project, I chose to
review and summarize the Forensic Files episode titled, The Buddhist Monk Murders (S15, Ep3)
(Dowling, 2001). In August 1991, nine Monks from the Wat Promkunaram Temple were forced to
kneel in a circle in the living room then shot execution style in the back of the head. Because of the
number of victims and sheer brutality of the murders, this incident is considered the worst mass
murder in Arizona s history.
Background
In 1991, Wat Promkunaram Buddhist Temple was attended by mostly Thai nationals and considered a
gathering point for the Thai community in Arizona. The Temple is located in Waddell, Arizona, a
small community on the outskirts of Phoenix, and not far from Luke Air Force Base. Investigators
believe the murders occurred in the late evening of August 9, 1991. The bodies were discovered by a
Temple member the next morning.
Investigation
After securing the outside perimeter, Crime Scene Investigators meticulously searched inside the
dwelling; taking videos, photographs, and collecting over 1,000 fingerprints. The bedrooms had been
ransacked but very few items of value had been taken. In fact, other items of value were left
untouched such as cash (which was left in the open) and a safe, leading investigators to believe that
robbery was not the motive. Among all of the evidence collected, two pieces of evidence

  • 4. Essay on Homosexuality Throughout History Homosexuality can be tracked throughout history. In ancient Rome, philosophers, such as Socrates, were having sexual relations with their students. They believed it was a part of becoming a man. The Bible, one of the oldest books in literature, discusses homosexual practices among the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah. Some of the most influential people throughout history were discovered to be homosexual: Susan B. Anthony, William Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Tennessee Williams. Homosexuality is worldwide and has a global impact on society; it transcends borders, cultures, and governments. The research was conducted before the start of the Gay Rights movement which has contributed to changes in data. In 1983, after the start of the Gay Rights movement, a study of 147 homosexuals was taken where 35% of the tested said that their sexual orientation was hereditary (Cameron 2). The inconsistency of data is predictable due to the change in thinking because of the Gay Rights movement. The answers from volunteers became more about the political struggle than the need for accurate scientific data. Although the elementary research did not prove that environmental situations are an underlying factor in determining sexual orientation, it did open a path for future research. Clearly, research over sexual orientation has been fueled by the desire for answers to complex questions. Researchers have tried to determine any physical factors that may alter sexual preference. Past research was inconclusive and unsupported mainly because of elementary equipment. As technology has advanced, so has the research. Between 1983 and 1991, postmortem brains were taken from three hospitals in Southern California. A certain region of the brain known as the AC (anterior commissure) was evaluated and 34 homosexual men, 75 heterosexual men, and 84 heterosexual women were studied (Allen 7199). The results showed that the homosexual males AC size was matched closer to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leonardo DiCaprio portrays a high strung stock broker reliant on a multitude of illegal drugs to keep up with his hectic life style. His addiction gets so severe that at one point in the movie, he is lying on the floor, unable to move due to the drugs effects on his body. Even though the movie is set in the 90 s, a decade infamous for its use of drugs, today, drug usage and abuse has never been more of an issue. According to Alice Park (2016), More people died of drug overdoses in 2014 in the U.S. than in any other year (p.49). Through revelation, especially in this modern day, the prophet Joseph Smith was able to restore the fullness of the gospel. Heavenly Father has made it possible for us all to receive revelation and has given us all of the tools to do so in these days. Understanding how and why we receive revelation and the importance of modern day revelation helps us to see how much God truly loves us. Comparison of Neurological Assessment Tools Gcs Avpu and Four An assessment of the level of consciousness (LOC) should be carried out during the primary survey of all patients, using the ABCDE approach Cole (2009: 28). Any initial or subsequent reduction in the LOC of the patient may be caused by hypoxia; hypovolaemia; head injury; drug or medicine use; hypoglycaemia; hypothermia or alcohol ingestion (Cole, 2009:44). An assessment of the LOC of the patient is vital for an accurate pain assessment and the administration of analgesia, and the subsequent assessment of its efficacy (Rose, et al. 2011). Staff assessing these patients found themselves recording GCS scores lower than what they felt was appropriate. Since the GCS became widely adopted and its use became expanded beyond the original intention of the scale, certain additional limitations have been identified (Laureys, 2005). Verbal responses become difficult or impossible to assess when patients have been sedated or intubated (Majerus, 2005). Some clinicians feel that scoring eye opening is not sufficient to indicate brainstem arousal and a number of coma scales have been proposed that include brainstem reflexes, most of them more complex than the GCS scale (Majerus, 2005). The Glasgow Liège scale is the simplest variation proposed (Born, et al., 1982). It combines the GCS with five brainstem reflexes, but has not been widely implemented outside Belgium, its country of origin (Laureys, 2005). Finally, the remaining weaknesses of the GCS scale relate to the assessment of comatose patients. The GCS becomes unreliable in ongoing care for monitoring coma and recovery through vegetative or minimally conscious states, before returning to consciousness (Laureys, 2005). The main advantage of the GCS is its simplicity, allowing it to be utilised by the full range of clinicians, with a minimal amount of training (Matis, 2008). • 13. The Pros And Cons Of Free Trade Free trade is a capitalist concept that advocates for a seamless and free flow of goods and services that is virtually unhindered by state imposed restrictions or trade barriers. Over the years, the American government has signed multiple agreements with governments across the world, to encourage trade between the continental United States and other countries around the globe. Indeed, bilateral agreements ranging from AGOA, NAFTA, and TPP have been signed by successive Washington administrations, ostensibly to encourage Americans to reap financial benefits from global trade. The open and free trade idea is anchored on the maxim that no country possesses all the services and products that it needs, at any given time. Countries across the Americas fro instance and by extension globally have seen a proliferation in the number of treaties and preferential trade agreements by economies to boost trade. In this regard, some countries are well endowed with extensive natural resources such as oil, gas, and gold, while others may lack them but still need to use these resources. Nevertheless, the sovereign is permitted under international trade laws to impose certain levels of trade restrictions for valid reasons such as protecting its infant industries and taming dumping of substandard goods. In this regard, the world is moving towards protectionism with scores of countries imposing tariff and non tariff barriers as well as the complete ban of certain class of goods from overseas or ... • 14. Martin Luther s Reformation Research Paper There has always been religion on earth probably as long as man has been, throughout every walk of life. During the 6th century institutional church reach a new high of lows. In a sense it could be considered corrupt or impure. This was a time where sin was relieved from you by the act of purchasing indulgences, or making a pilgrimage. This led many pure at heart question the framework of their churches. Most notably when the Church of Rome pushed selling indulgences to collect money for the rebuilding of Saint Peters cathedral. This led to extreme criticism, especially to those who held the aristolic ideals close to heart. With all that was going on, the movement needed a face, a person to take the thoughts and feelings many had and put it out to the world without holding back. The backbone of this reformation was left to the son of a coal miner, Martin Luther [1483 1546]. He chose to discontinue his pursuit in the study of law and became an Augustinian monk. From then on, as a doctor of theology at the University of Wittenberg, he spoke in opposition of the church. Before plastic surgery was an option, to correct a body part from injury, disease or an illness they had to just deal with their appearance. Today many people are getting plastic surgery to improve their appearance because they believe in their minds that something is wrong with them base on what our sociality standard are. I think it is an unnecessary surgery and many people put their health and well being at risk. Some people even lose their lives because the toxins have leaked in their body, face lifts leaves some people deformed, and mentally handicap. The history of plastic surgery originated in the early 800 B.C; when surgeons in India reconstructed broken noses, for people who had taken off as a form of punishment. In World War I many plastic surgery techniques were developed in order to correct soldier s disfigured facial injuries. It was 1969, America had recently passed through the height of the Cold War, but their relationship with the Soviet Union continued to become more hostile. There was no clear winner in sight, and America was desperate for a definitive victory, it was this moment, in this very moment that they finally had one, and they clung to it. This moment was, of course, the Apollo 11 moon landing on the 20th of July, 1969. However, as with many famous events captured in the public eye, it wasn t long before conspiracies began to unfold. Some began to question the validity of the photographs and videos associated with the moon landings, others made claims that the government couldn t possibly have had the technology necessary to successfully land on the moon, and some even went as far as to point out the exact set and director that supposedly filmed the hoaxed moon landings. I first became aware of the conspiracy surrounding the moon landings about two years ago when I watched a documentary on the topic and naturally, being the patriotic American that I am, I sided with NASA without considering any evidence on either side of the argument, but recently, the topic was brought up in conversation and it stuck an interest within me. In addition, with the introduction of NAFTA, Canadian and U.S. competitors were slowly beginning to penetrate the Mexican market, which had the potential to chip away at the majority market share GM enjoyed. The Square Deal created by Theodore Roosevelt to help the working class and deplete the power of the corporations and big business. It s 3 basic goals were to conserve natural resources, control corporations and protect the consumer. He also formed the Department of Commerce and Labor to help out the workers. Establishing National Parks was a must for Theodore Roosevelt because he felt nature existed to help us. The Interstate Commerce Act is a law passed to regulate the railroad industry s monopolistic practices. It required that railroad rates be reasonable and just for everyone but it did not let government set specific rates. The Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 was the first federal law that banned monopolies and unfair business practices. It limited cartels and big business from monopolistic practices and was designed to promote fair competition to benefit the consumers. The Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 was passed to make sure food, drugs, medicines, alcohol and other products are properly branded and sold after meeting specific requirements. If South Vietnam fell to the communist the US feared that communism would spread throughout Asia and to neighbouring countries. The influence of the previous presidents also caused another main reason for the US to become more involved in Vietnam. But there is one underlining fact; if the French had not left, America would not have become involved in Vietnam at all. There are many more reasons for America to increase involvement in Vietnam, and all of these can be listed in long and short term reasons, such as Domino theory being long term and ... Cuba was being supplied by the USSR, who had been communist since 1917. America had been at war with the USSR (the Cold War) in fear Communism spreading. With other countries (like Cuba) turning communist, it gave Russia more power. It was a competition of ideology, which system worked best; communism or democracy. The USSR supplied Cuba with Nuclear Missile s; this sparked the Cuban Missile Crisis, which proved the Domino Theory and the need to prop up Vietnam (the domino) to stop it falling and communism spreading. The Soviet s had already expanded through Europe, the whole of Eastern Europe falling to communism, Churchill said, An Iron Curtain has drawn over Europe . This gave a reason for America to increase involvement in Vietnam, to stop another domino falling. Aside from the Domino Theory, another main reason why America got involved was because of the French Exit in Vietnam. The main point for this reason is that if the French hadn t left Vietnam America wouldn t have to get involved at all. The issues that I will be writing about in this essay are; the glorification of war and war heroes , and the inevitability of war. He expresses his criticism on these topics using a number of literary techniques, which include; metaphors and imagery. When writing about war in Slaughterhouse Five , Vonnegut tries to show the reality of war and the people who fight in them in order to put a stop to the glorification of war and how the public views its soldiers. He uses a metaphor to show a reality to who the soldiers are and how society tries to mask that when he writes (as Mary O Hare) You were just babies in the war like the ones upstairs! (...) • 43. Dante And The Road Of Humanism Dante and the Road to Humanism During the Renaissance, the ideology of humanism became extremely popular. After the black plague people presumed that God had abandoned them. As a result, they began to search for their own answers through observation and experimentation; this method was called empiricism. Through this, man began to place himself at the center of the universe instead of God. Individuals began to embrace their own talents and spend less time worrying about the next life and more living in the current one. Humanism was also developed from a desire to re live the Classical time period, or the golden age; therefore, the humanistic education consisted of studies of Greek, Latin, art, music and philosophy. This contemporary way of thinking inspired many philosophers and writers. Throughout Dante s work he emphasizes the concept of humanism, and it is this work that influenced many other philosophers including Petrarch and Boccaccio. Dante Alighieri was born in 1265 in Florence, Italy. Dante was an Italian poet, prose writer, literary theorist, moral philosopher, and political thinker. In the thirteenth century, groups called the Guelfs and the Ghibellines arose. The Guelfs supported the pope, and around 1290 they divided into two groups, the White and Black Guelfs. Dante was closer to the White party which was composed of merchants and traders; the Black group consisted of banking families. In 1301 Dante left Florence on a mission to gain more ... Whatever your definition of failure is just remember that us as humans make mistakes but we can learn from them. In Maya Angelou s poem Caged Bird she shows how the free bird was brave enough to become free and how the caged bird has failed to become free. In Langston Hughes poem Mother to Son he shows how the past affected the mother and she s telling her son to be brave enough and strive for the best. In Robert Frost s poem The Road Not Taken he shows how difficult it is to choose what path to take for the future. Though we make mistakes and fail we can rise above them and set goals for our future. In Maya Angelou s poem Caged Bird she shows that the free bird was brave enough to become free and soar through the sky but she also shows how the caged bird fails to become free because it just sits and waits. In August 1991, nine Monks from the Wat Promkunaram Temple were forced to kneel in a circle in the living room then shot execution style in the back of the head.
