To Cover Or Not To Cover
To cover, or not to cover? That is the question. When magazine, internet or news articles show a
woman wearing a head covering, one automatically assumes that the woman is a Muslim; yet is
covering one s head the rule for these women? What does the Qur an say? Why do women do this?
What is the difference between the various head coverings? There are hijabs, khimars, chadors,
niqabs, and burqas. What are these? So many questions... The answers to these questions seem to
differ depending upon whom you ask. According to Islamic.org, It is the general consensus among the
Muslims that a Muslim woman is required to cover her head leaving only her face showing as part of
an overall dress code and behaviour which Islam prescribes. It is therefore ... Show more content on

In 1 Corinthians 11, God gives the command that a woman is to cover her head when praying or
prophesying and that a man is to have his head uncovered, (Horst). According to the Jewish Virtual
Library website, It was customary for most women in the ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, and the
Greco Roman world to cover their hair when they went outside the home. In biblical times, women
covered their heads with veils or scarves. The unveiling of a woman s hair was considered a
humiliation and punishment (Isa. 3:17; cf. Num. 5:18 on the loosening of the hair of a woman
suspected of adultery; III Macc. 4:6; and Sus. 32), (www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org). The practice of
head covering appears in many different cultures. Mantillas are still worn by many Spanish and Latina
women during religious ceremonies, and many Christian women in India still cover their heads with a
veil, scarf, shawl or the end of a sari during religious services,
(http://www.csames.illinois.edu/documents/outreach/Cross Culture_Head_Coverings.pdf). Based on
this information, to immediately draw attention to Muslim women and question their practice of
covering their heads seems prejudicial women from many other cultures and religions cover their

Modern Technology
The debate of modern technology is one that reaches out to almost everyone in the modern era living
in the United States, since it is a first world country, everybody living in the country at one point has
interacted with a piece of modern technology. The evolution of technology in the last two decades has
been exponentially fast, changing evolution of almost an entire generation in the way that they view
things and interact with the world around them. Things such as virtual reality have become attainable
when they were only figments of the imagination only 30 years ago, now information is only a click of

The Horrors of Cannibalism
Cannibalism to say the least is a very taboo word. Cannibalism is known to be very disturbing and sets
off a certain set of powerful emotions when spoken about. One thing about cannibalism is that it used
to be considered a normal part of life, and has only recently been seen as taboo in the recent centuries.
Many people believe Cannibalism should be legal world wide, but only have reasoning s of culture
and religions. Cannibalism should be illegal because of immorality, diseases , and murder by eating
someone s flesh. The History of Cannibalism is small, yet widely spread around the world. The
Korowai Tribe has been around since 1974, they are known for killing outsiders, and to be afraid of
pale skinned people (Raffaele). If Cannibalism stays legal, the isolated tribes could possibly expand,
and want to kill any pale skinned person, or anyone not from their tribe. The Carib tribe was the first
known tribe to commit acts of cannibalism to their enemies, which became increasingly rare once the
introduction of Christianity was introduced in the area (Mind Q). Once the human race became more
active in moral behavior, Cannibalism was outcast, giving it no reason to be legal within our current
society. The Aztecs are known as one of the most brutal tribes to date, the Aztecs would commit
thousands of human sacrifices a year (Mind Q). When you have Cannibals eating live hearts (Mind

Billy The Bully
Billy the Bully Introduction Early on a Saturday morning I was hurrying down the street to buy a
scone for my big sister at our neighborhood bakery. It was her birthday and I wanted to do something
special for her (besides the gifts we had planned for her later in the day). It was a cloudy spring day
and rain was predicted, so I was moving pretty fast because I didn t have an umbrella. I bought the
ginger scone and on the way back home I looked across the street and saw a boy from my class
pushing another younger boy. It was Billy, who was big for his size, pushing another kid and
smacking him. I stopped for a moment to watch. How rude and unfair, I thought to myself. Billy had
always been a bit rude to me and I had seen him bullying people on the playground but he never laid a
hand on me. Just then Billy looked over and saw me watching him push the little kid around and he
yelled, What are you looking at you little nerd? That was all I needed to hear to get going back to our
house. Raindrops started falling about halfway home so I began to run. I looked back and Billy had
left the little boy and was on my side of the street and running behind me. I am not a nerd but I am a
good student and I am athletically active so I put it into another gear and left the bully well behind. He
isn t really too fat, but he is overweight and he can t run as fast as I can. Once home, I put the scone in
our bread box and went to my room to finish my math and science homework. My

A War Does Not Require Weapons
Acosta, Alejandro Rachel History 4C 7/July 2015 A War does not Require Weapons In between the
timeline of World War One and World War Two, political leaders, states, and nations were fighting
against each other with and without the usage of weapons. The ideology of great philosophers, and
raising leaders, such as: Herbert Spencer, Leon Trotsky, Joseph Stalin, Great Britain, and Russia
brought civil wars and battles during the small timeframe between world wars. Before we go into
depth on the one 30 year war, we begin with the settings of this one 30 year war. In the beginning of
the 19th century, European powerhouses, France and Russia, obtained the same equal power. At the
same period, Germany s industry began to grow tremendously which brought rival, Britain. Germany
s economics in industrial were growing due to the exports of heavy materials, and beneficially to
politicians running the state. The economic growth of Germany lead them to create the Triple Alliance
in 1882. The reason for this secret agreement between Germany, Austria Hungry, and Italy was
because Germany felt that its economic growth would lead to war with their rivals. In response to the
Triple Alliance 1882, the Triple Entente of 1894 was created by France, Russia, and Great Britain.
Nevertheless, Germany was thinking in advanced, and planed the Schlieffen. A plan that Germany
created, if war would to break out, to attack France and then Great Britain excluding Russia. On June

The Religions Of Shinto And Buddhism
The two religions that are located in Japan are Shinto and Buddhism. The two religions in japan are
extraordinarily unalike, while Shintoism believes that every living thing including rocks and sounds
contain some type of god in them, and Buddhism is concerned with the soul and afterlife that happens
in Buddhism. The religions differ very much from each other with little similarities. Buddhism and
Shintoism differ in one using shrines while the other has temples, the two both have religious
ceremonies, and one believes in the afterlife while the other does not. Shinto was originated in Japan
and formed in five hundred BCE. Shinto the way of the Kami is the religion of Japan that was first
used in the 6th century. Shinto has no founder, no sacred texts and no formalized system. Shinto is
uniquely Japanese, and believes in a god named Kami, the Shinto believe that Kami exists both as
spiritual beings but as well as in nature. The Kami is not like Western Religions, because the Kami is
not perceived as an all powerful god, but as a creative force. Buddhism was formed in the 5th century
B.C.E. in northern India. The religion was started by a man named Siddhartha Gautama, who is also
referred to as the Buddha or the enlightened one. The way this man started the religion was by training
his meditation for six years, and then once he felt he was close to full enlightenment he went into
meditation and vowed not to come out until he reached full enlightenment. Buddha then

Factors That Affect Resistance Of Organizational Change
1. Introduction Organizational change has been defined as a planned alteration in the normal patterns
or activities within an organization, which is initiated from a position of authority and intended to
improve the organizational effectiveness (Argyris, 1970). Resistance has been defined as any act
designed or implemented to inhibit progress toward organizational change (Coch and French, 1948).
The general view of factors that affect resistance to change developed out of a need to understand
organizational dynamics and improve organizational effectiveness (Coch and French, 1948). Previous
research has identified a wide variety of factors that affect resistance to change (Gray, 1984). This
paper makes an attempt to discuss in detail important and most commonly reported factors that cause
individual s resistance to change. 2. Factors of Resistance to Organizational Change 1. 1 Lack of
knowledge and understanding: Miller et al., (1994), Del Val and Fuentes (2003) and Oreg (2006), one
of the most important factors responsible for the individual resistance to change is lack of
understanding regarding purpose, process and consequence of the organizational change. As a result of
lack of knowledge sometimes individuals will oppose even the changes that in fact promote their self
interest. According these studies, in circumstances when individuals have no sufficient knowledge
about the cause and consequence of change they feel anxious, insecure and stressed as a result they

Hodges sold a ball out of dummy half, spun through a defender and planted the ball down to make the

Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of...
Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of Powers The separation of powers, originally
established by Baron Montesquieu in De l Esprit des Lois (1748) can be seen as an integral part of any
constitution. Montesquieu voiced the necessity for a separation of the primary three bodies: the
executive, the legislature and the judiciary.
In Lord Woolf s statement: The separation of powers has never been part of the framework of our
unwritten Constitution. He is clearly stating that he believes that under the constitution of the United
Kingdom there are important departures from the classic doctrine, and the separation of powers has
never been a basis on which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This of course is a clear breach of Montesquieu s doctrine.
This led Lord Hailsham to refer to the arrangement (A Government with a majority) as an elective
dictatorship . However, although it is a clear breach, it may be noted that out of 659 MP s only
approximately 100 are Cabinet Ministers, so the Government are outnumbered in any case.
To a large extent, the judiciary form a separate body from both the executive and the legislature. It has
been said, that as the United Kingdom has an unwritten Constitution we have a need for trust and
accountability in our public bodies and another need to enhance the credibility and effectiveness of
our public institutions. This is further recognized by Lord Steyn: Central to the Rule of Law in a
modern democratic society is the principle that the judiciary must be, and must be seen to be,
independent of the executive. However, although this has been firmly established, judges are
appointed by Her Majesty after consultation with the

Demand Curve And The Supply Curve
In some cities around the world (e.g. Berlin, New York, and Stockholm) rent control is used to ensure
housing is affordable. Using the Market model, conduct an economic analysis of rent control. Use the
analysis as a basis for providing recommendations regarding its introduction in London.
Rent control, like all other government mandated price controls is a law placing a maximum price, or
a rent ceiling, on what landlords may charge tenants. If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be
set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed (Walter Block).
The Market Model (figure 1) shows that there is a gap between supply and demand. This is
demonstrated by two curves which are the demand curve and the supply curve. Consumers of a
product are encouraged to increase purchasing when the government decreases prices and as price
rises to decrease purchasing, whereas, suppliers are encouraged to increase production when prices are
high and decrease production when prices fall. The market model shows that at one point the demand
curve and the supply curve intersect. This is called the equilibrium price where production is equal to
demand thus there is no surplus and no shortages. Figure 1 can also describe a Pareto efficient
economy. This is where all possible Pareto improvements have been made: where, therefore, it is
impossible to make anyone better off without making someone else worse off (Sloman, Wride and
Garratt, 2012, p 318).

Summary Of How Immigrants Changed America
America is filled with diverse people, citizens and immigrants. It s a country that has welcomed many
cultures, languages, and people from different parts of the world. Immigrants are the reasons why
America is changing into a colorful country and it wouldn t be known for it s importance known
today. Significant changes that occur when immigrants come to America are new cultures, changes in
the economy, and changes towards visas and green cards.
Immigrants changed America by bringing in new cultures. In Vincent J. Cannato s article, How
Americans Became Italian, it explains how America gained many things from the Italian culture, such
as food, music, and films. Vincent J. Cannato states, The Italian American experience reminds us that
immigration is a process of transformation for the individuals and for American society. That bilateral
cultural evolution will continue to mold who we are as a nation, (Cannato). Like Italians, many other
countries are shaping America with all the different cultures. Today, Americans combine varying
cultures into their lives.

Effects of Video Games on Children s Learning and Physical Health Just like any activity, there are
both positive and negative effects of children playing video games. However, the general notion is the
opposite, especially in regards to children s health. Additionally, learning environment and health are
the most important aspects of childhood. Playing video games can be helpful in classroom contexts to
aid in children s acquisition of concepts being taught. Video games can affect children s development
in terms of their cognition and physical well being. According to Annetta, Minogue, Holmes, and

The effectiveness of video games as an educational tool is still not widely studied even though

To An Athlete Dying Young Summary
In every poet, there is a purpose in every poem they compose. In A.E. Housman To an Athlete Dying
Young (rpt. In Greg Johnson and Thomas R. Arp, Perrine s Literature: Structure, Sound, and Sense,
12th ed. [Boston: Wadsworth, 2015] 983) Housman shared his philosophy on how an athlete feels
when they grow old into their late seventies. In To an Athlete Dying Young is about an athlete that dies
young. What is surprising is that Housman doesn t spend much time lamenting the young athlete s
death. Instead, he pitches the positive aspects of dying young, which is far from the typical approach.
It concludes that it s okay to let go of the athletic aspect of life.

challenged with the fact that the author thinks the athlete is a smart lad, or lucky, for dying young and
maintaining his hero status in the public eye. Normally, does fame seem meaningless when faced with
death? As seen in the poem, pride and competition often go hand in hand. In To an Athlete Dying
Young, pride plays an important role. The speaker suggests that, by dying young, the athlete will never
have to suffer the humiliation and wounded pride that comes along with defeat and eventual
weakening athletic ability. The bottom line, better dead than second

The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life
As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s that
simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I would want to
achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years
into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly
told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The characteristic of
hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes me as a person immensely because I
consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I
wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a
chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the best I
could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full
potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never wanted the repercussions that came if one
of us got caught slacking. Despite giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for
money seemed great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all
my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog
poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop
happened to become a steady income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless
so I could earn my money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they
quickly became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would
soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle
and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get
that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working,
he knew he could rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem different, I feel
that I should work hard on any chore or job no

Essay On Extreme Learning Machine
Extreme learning machine proposed bycite{elm, elms} is a feed forward neural network classifier
with single hidden layer in which the weights between input and hidden layer are initialized randomly.
ELM uses analytical approach to compute weights between hidden and output layercite{elm} ,which
makes it faster compared to other gradient based classifiers. ELM fails to handle class imbalance
problem effectively. Many variants of Extreme Learning Machine like Weighted Extreme Learning

The proposed WLEM is evaluated using the two weighting schemes which assigns classwise weights
to the instances. The performance of WELM is dependent on the choice of these weights. The
weighing schemes proposed only considers class skewness for assigning weights to the instances. It
ignores other data complexity measures as class overlapping, shape of the class, length of decision
boundary, class distribution etc. for computing the weights associated with the instances. Assigning
weights to the instances is a difficult task as we don t know that the factors responsible for data
complexity is different for different datasets.
Boosted WELM (WBELM)cite{BWELM} is a variant of adaboostcite{Schapire1999} ensemble
with WELMcite{WELM} as the component classifier. It differs from adaboost as equal weight is
assigned to all the classes irrespective of the number of instances in that class. After each iteration the
weights of the instances belonging to each class are rescaled such that total weight assigned to each
class is same.it has been reported in this papercite{BWELM} , that Boosting weighted ELM and
AdaBoost weighted ELM take about 10 and 50 times more training and testing time than weighted
ELM. It enhances the performance of WELM at the cost of increases redundancy and computational
overhead.

E-Service Quality Essay
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The main objectives of this report were to:
1. Evaluate and compare the e service quality of five websites in the utilities sector on the dimensions
of control, two way communication and responsiveness on the basis of a given questionnaire. The
companies examined were British Gas, Scottish Power, Scottish Hydro Electric, EDF Energy and
E.ON Energy.
2. Critique the content of the questionnaire, developing an argument for why the questionnaire is
comprehensive, or how it can be improved by deleting and/or adding dimensions to assess e service
quality.
To begin addressing these objectives, secondary research was carried out in order to gain a sound

1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Definition of e Service Quality
E service quality (e SQ) is a study of the quality of service received over the internet. This can be
defined as the extent to which a website facilitates efficient and effective shopping, purchasing and
delivery (Zeithaml et al., 2000).
Over the next four years, it is estimated that the number of online buyers in the UK will rise by over
half of the UK s current population, from 26.9 million to 31.8 million (marketresearch.com). Clearly,
this is a very large and profitable market, with businesses securing increasing numbers of sales online
each year (British Retail Consortium). Higher website quality leads to higher profitability levels
(Vanitha et al, 1999), therefore having an efficient and effective website is crucial for obtaining sales,
and e SQ is a major factor in securing customer loyalty (Cristobal et al, 2007).
Some academic researchers have created comprehensive scales to measure e SQ. Since SERVQUAL
is the definitive measurement of service quality (Wilson et al, 2008), it stands to reason that many
scales measuring e SQ would be based

According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential
benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate
branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing
framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the
company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment.
As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate
brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer
brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009).
More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of
the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional
communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple
stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it
provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this
information is not consistent with the advertised

John Lennon
John Lennon was a great song writer and musician. He played the rhythm guitar, the piano, and sang.
He was in the most popular group in the history of rock music. In 1959, John founded this group,
called The Beatles.
The original Beatles were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best.
Brian Epstein became the manager of the Beatles in 1961. Epstein made many changes in the group.
John rebelled and did not want to quot;package quot; and

John was influenced by many things in 1965 1966 such as psychedelia, marijuana, and Bob Dylan.
Many felt that these years were the best song writing years of John Lennon s life.
1966 The Beatles had been touring for over four years, and they, especially John were tired of it. John
wanted to spend more time with his wife,
Cynthia, and his song, Julian. At one time, they had to do 32 concerts in 19 days. On their next album,
Beatles For Sale, the material reflected how unhappy
John and Paul were with life on the road. Songs like quot;I m a Loser quot; and quot;No
Reply quot; spoke of depression and the frenzy of life in the spotlight. John once said, quot;It s like we
re four freaks being wheeled out to be seen, shake our hair about, and get back into our cage
afterwards. quot;
The Beatles felt that they needed to work only in the studio now. So, on August 29, 1966, The Beatles
performed their last live performance ever at
Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California.
Almost a year later, Brian Epstein, the Beatles Manager was found dead in his apartment of a suicidal
overdose. This caused many problems for the group. John later admitted that quot; The Beatles were

A Report On Woolworths Company
My chosen business that my report will be based on is the Woolworths company, known primarily in
Australia for their supermarket s and retail chains. Woolworths run several high profile Australian
stores such as BWS, Dan Murphys, Big W and the highly publicized Masters. The reason for my
choice of Woolworths was that as they are one of the biggest companies and employers in Australia,
and have recently been in the media spotlight for the closing of one of the recent projects Masters.
Another major reason as to my choice of Woolworths is that there supply chain would be as
interesting and extensive as any other Australian based company. With almost a thousand
supermarkets Australia wide and over 100 thousand staff, Woolworths is one of the countries
prominent employers (Woolworths limited 2012).
An added incentive as to why I chose to do my report on Woolworths was that they are my current
employer. I believe that by learning more about the current supply chain structure and management of
the company that I do indeed work for, will give me a more detailed overview of the job that I am
currently doing. By understanding more about the company you re involved will hopefully keep me
motivated and improve my work leading to a happier time whilst I am working (Gelles 2013 p.37). As
a billion dollar company, Woolworths would have to be very careful and deliberate with who and what
there supply chain consists of. With the vast variety of social media and news sources in the current

Elizabeth Cady Stanton s Declaration Of Sentiments And...
A Call to Women, a Call to All Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought tirelessly against inequality between
men and women, an issue that still plagues this nation. From her first address to her last, Elizabeth was
the voice of the women s rights movement. She lectured across the nation and publically debated the
unjust laws of her day ( Elizabeth Cady Stanton... ). Two of her more prominent and potent speeches
were Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions and Solitude of Self . These speeches served as her
introduction and adieu as an overt promoter of women s rights ( The Women s Rights... ) (Hogan).
Though Stanton gave both her Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions and Solitude of Self in
support of women s rights, due to the differing audiences addressed, the speeches vary in structure,
overall message, appeal, and use of rhetorical devices.
Stanton orates A Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions on July 19, 1848, at the Seneca Falls
convention, to a crowd consisting of mostly females. This marks the first gathering devoted to the
women s rights movement ( The Women s Rights... ). Stanton models her speech after the Declaration
of Independence (Appleby 74 77). She reflects the structure by beginning with a preamble followed
by a declaration of natural rights. She then lists man s grievances against women in the same fashion
that the nation s forefathers listed the king s mistreatments against the colonies. She concludes with
their, the women s rights movement s,

Luther Movie Analysis
The film Luther (2003) did not accurately portray the social and political aspects of the Protestant
Reformation. The film does not give enough detail to historically represent the German peasants and
nobility; it also dramatizes political characters and events to specifically target Luther s enemies,
giving inaccurate information in the process.
The film lacks the detail to historically portray the social aspects successfully because the plot orbits
around Martin Luther; it omits different aspects of the Peasants Revolt, specifically the relationship
between the German peasants and nobility. Throughout the film, Eric Till the director eliminates most
of the interaction between the German peasants and nobility allowing the film to ... Show more

Then again, Luther after the revolt wanted social order and discipline; the theologian s voice was more
reactionary than radical. On the contrary, his reactionary opinions discouraged lots of peasants and
nobles thus abandoning Luther s Protestant Reformation. German peasants and nobility s negative
attitude towards Luther was not shown due to his protagonist appearance throughout the film. As well
as the omission of taxation and German s opinions, Luther fails to identify The Protestant Reformation
was poorly represented throughout the film because the use of exaggeration in certain scenes and
characters to elevate Luther s positive attributes does not give an accurate aspect of the political
components. Alfred Molina who portrayed Johann Tetzel an indulgence seller did an excellent job in
the film but over dramatized his character: With this indulgence, I can absolve any sin. I can even save
the souls of a man who violates the mother of God herself (Luther). Tetzel was indeed a convincing
priest who said absurd statements to sell indulgences. However, in the motion pictures, Till had a
different vision to represent the indulgence seller in a exaggerated way. Tetzel in the film does
outrageous things such as burning his hand or claiming he could save a soul that violated Virgin Mary;
the priest has never done anything as extreme as the film. The director does this intentionally

Frederick V Vs Ferdinand II
The Law is Always Right:
Frederick V vs Ferdinand II in the Thirty Years War
The Thirty Years War that spanned most of the Holy Roman Empire drawing in most of the European
superpowers of the time started off as a much smaller rebellion in the Kingdom of Bohemia in the east
of the Empire. The Bohemian revolt started with the Defenestration of Prague where two Catholic
regents and a secretary were thrown out of a window by a group of frustrated Protestants. The regents
had been placed in control of the city by the Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, Matthias to
rule until his successor, Ferdinand of Styria, was elected to replace him. The Protestants were
frustrated because their petitions to Matthias asking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frederick s justification for taking the Kingship is that he was trying to restore peace and protect the
Protestants in Bohemia. He claims that the Protestants were being victimized and that if he did not
assume control in Bohemia then the blame for any more lives lost in the conflict could be placed on
him. He explains why him taking control should not be seen as a power grab in the following quote:
Therefore we have not sought a greater elevation, nor have we tried to gain the above mentioned
crown of Bohemia by force of through any other actions, a fact to which the estates that elected us
have publicly given witness (and can continue to do so). Furthermore, given the deplorable situation,
we also had no reason to do so, but would instead have much preferred to have seen the return of
peace.
By assuring the readers of his declaration that his motives are pure Frederick negates what would be
the first argument against him. If his taking of the Kingship were to be seen as a power grab he would
have no legitimacy and would struggle to find any support. There are two key points to the above
quote. The first is that he did not force his way into the position. While this may seem obvious there
was the possibility that he was elected under threat of violence. The other is that he would have
preferred a peaceful resolution over the current

Sheet Mask Risk
Risk of Using a Sheet Mask Sheet masks have been super popular these days, and I do sometime use
them for fun. Yet, did you know that almost all sheet masks that are not required to be kept in a fridge
contain a lot of preserva tives? Imagine there s some food wrapped in wet tissue in a zip lock bag. If it
s kept at room temperature for a long time, it will spoil and mold will start to grow, right? The same
principle applies to sheet masks too. Sheet masks contain lots of great natural ingredients and these
ingredients are like foods. Natural ingredients attract microbes, so preservatives are needed to keep the
natural ingredients in the mask fresh. Sheet masks are fun and very moisturizing, so you might be
using them very frequently, but I highly suggest you limit how much you use them. If you can, check
the ingredient list first before you pur chase a sheet mask. Natural ingredients are great, but if the
mask has a lot of preservatives so you don t have to refrigerate it, those chemical preservatives
counteract the benefits of the natural in gredients, right? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Odysseus and Spiderman
Heroes in Action: Odysseus Spiderman The late actor, Christopher Reeve, once stated, A hero is an
ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
In the epic, Odyssey, by Homer and the film, Spiderman, directed by Sam Raimi, the crux of the
storyline relates to a hero and the challenges they face along the way. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is the
main character. The epic tale outlines his travels as he attempts to travel back to his home against the
will of some gods. In Spiderman, Peter Parker is the main character. He undergoes a transformation

Peter Parker s mentor is his Uncle Ben. Peter is always remembering little things that his uncle has
told him in the past years when he was alive, such as with great power comes great responsibility. The
difference in the two characters mentors is that Odysseus has an actual mentor that he can see and
listen to in person and Peter s mentor is someone that he can only faintly remember and recall the
things he said in the past. Along with Odysseus s and Spiderman s mentors, they also have allies.
Odysseus s allies are the Phaecians. After Odysseus s ship is destroyed, he swims to the island
Scheria, home of the Phaecians, and is warmly welcomed, fed, given gifts, and set off in a great ship
to his home, Ithaca. Spiderman s allies are the citizens of Queens, New York who believe in him as
being a hero and not a villain. The resemblance in the two characters is that their allies are not just one
person in particular but a group of people. By the end of the heroes journey, Odysseus and Peter go
through tests, temptations, and the development of enemies. Odysseus is tested in controlling his men
and getting them to do the right thing as well as of himself and his boastfulness. He is also tested on
overcoming his fears when needing to enter the underworld. Additionally, Spiderman is scrutinized on
saving people and building his name as the city s hero. These two characters are related in the fact that

Stuart Davis Research Paper
Stuart Davis was an American modernist painter born on December 7th, 1892 June 24, 1964. He was
well known for his Jazz influenced paintings and the two main mediums he used to create his artworks
were printing and painting. Davis was commonly known as the Father of pop art , frequently using
contrasting vibrant, radiant colours, intricate and rugged shapes, and text in his pieces to portray the
Jazz theme. He adapted various techniques such as cubism and expressionism to develop his own
individual style. The genre of Davis work is abstraction, still life and landscape all beautifully
executed with a tongue in cheek sense of humour that some say was before his time. In his early
career he was a cartoonist which may have influenced his style ... Show more content on

However, by the time the Abstract Expressionists took the New York art world by storm in the 1950s,
Davis art struggled to maintain its modernist edge. Another decade would pass before Davis visionary
presence would be cemented in art history. In the1960s, artists of the Pop Art movement admired his
attention to mass culture. Long before painters such as Andy Warhol and Ed Ruscha, Davis was
painting soap boxes, billboards and gas pumps with a tongue in cheek wit that was ahead of his time.
Most of Davis influences came from his surrounding American urban environment in the 1920 s and
30 s, such as the commercial world of the US, neon signs, jazz music, and the American nightlife. Not
only this, but Davis was inspired by the American language during the 1940 s and 50 s, using text
which is portrayed in his compositions to enhance the meaning of his artwork. Davis pushed the
regular boundaries by using letters, words and phrases in his paintings. There were many artists who
influenced and inspired Davis to create his own style such as the group called The Eight lead by
Robert Henri (1864 1929). Henri encourages modern American painters to go against the rules and be
radical within their artworks. Furthermore, Marsden Hartly (1877 1943) was another great influence
of Davis , who painted The German Flag series in 1914 presents a type of abstraction linked to
cubism. Davis use of complementary non figurative subject matter such as cigarette packages and the
contemporary American environment later influenced artists such as Andy Warhol (1928 1987), David
Hockney (1937) and Roy Lichtenstein

The Chemistry Of Fluid Dynamics Essay
While there is certainly much left to be explained and understood in the field of fluid dynamics, there
is still a certain level of common sense that one has concerning what one would consider to be
ordinary fluids, such as water. It makes sense that such fluids, say, take the shape of their containers,
or tend to flow down an inclined plane, or proceed with the same mass flow rate given that the fluid
does not build up along the flow channel. Likewise, with solids, there are certain, seemingly common
sense properties, such as a certain level of resistance to deformation and a certain amount of elasticity.
However, there are some materials which are effectively in an in between state which exhibit
properties of both viscous liquids and elastic solids, known as viscoelastic fluids. This edition of
elastic properties to what would otherwise be well characterized as viscous fluids poses novel
scientific questions from the scale of the nanoparticles contained within the viscoelastic fluid up to
considerations of viscoelastic fluids stretching across space. Regarding the latter, M. S. Janaki, N.
Chakrabarti, and D. Banerjee have investigated how viscoelasticity changes the behavior of a self
gravitating fluid in space with a particular focus on the Jeans instability, or the mechanism by which
internal pressures can no longer counter balance the self gravitational force of such fluids, prompting a
collapse []. Since more typical stellar media and cases in which electrostatics

When magazine, internet or news articles show a woman wearing a head covering, one automatically assumes that the woman is a Muslim; yet is covering one s head the rule for these women? What does the Qur an say? Why do women do this? What is the difference between the various head coverings? There are hijabs, khimars, chadors, niqabs, and burqas. What are these? So many questions... The answers to these questions seem to differ depending upon whom you ask. According to Islamic.org, It is the general consensus among the Muslims that a Muslim woman is required to cover her head leaving only her face showing as part of an overall dress code and behaviour which Islam prescribes. It is therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1 Corinthians 11, God gives the command that a woman is to cover her head when praying or prophesying and that a man is to have his head uncovered, (Horst). According to the Jewish Virtual Library website, It was customary for most women in the ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, and the Greco Roman world to cover their hair when they went outside the home. In biblical times, women covered their heads with veils or scarves. The unveiling of a woman s hair was considered a humiliation and punishment (Isa. 3:17; cf. Num. 5:18 on the loosening of the hair of a woman suspected of adultery; III Macc. 4:6; and Sus. 32), (www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org). The practice of head covering appears in many different cultures. Mantillas are still worn by many Spanish and Latina women during religious ceremonies, and many Christian women in India still cover their heads with a veil, scarf, shawl or the end of a sari during religious services, (http://www.csames.illinois.edu/documents/outreach/Cross Culture_Head_Coverings.pdf). Based on this information, to immediately draw attention to Muslim women and question their practice of covering their heads seems prejudicial women from many other cultures and religions cover their heads as ... One thing about cannibalism is that it used to be considered a normal part of life, and has only recently been seen as taboo in the recent centuries. Many people believe Cannibalism should be legal world wide, but only have reasoning s of culture and religions. Cannibalism should be illegal because of immorality, diseases , and murder by eating someone s flesh. The History of Cannibalism is small, yet widely spread around the world. The Korowai Tribe has been around since 1974, they are known for killing outsiders, and to be afraid of pale skinned people (Raffaele). If Cannibalism stays legal, the isolated tribes could possibly expand, and want to kill any pale skinned person, or anyone not from their tribe. • 5. Billy The Bully Billy the Bully Introduction Early on a Saturday morning I was hurrying down the street to buy a scone for my big sister at our neighborhood bakery. It was her birthday and I wanted to do something special for her (besides the gifts we had planned for her later in the day). It was a cloudy spring day and rain was predicted, so I was moving pretty fast because I didn t have an umbrella. I bought the ginger scone and on the way back home I looked across the street and saw a boy from my class pushing another younger boy. It was Billy, who was big for his size, pushing another kid and smacking him. I stopped for a moment to watch. How rude and unfair, I thought to myself. Billy had always been a bit rude to me and I had seen him bullying people on the playground but he never laid a hand on me. Just then Billy looked over and saw me watching him push the little kid around and he yelled, What are you looking at you little nerd? That was all I needed to hear to get going back to our house. Raindrops started falling about halfway home so I began to run. I looked back and Billy had left the little boy and was on my side of the street and running behind me. I am not a nerd but I am a good student and I am athletically active so I put it into another gear and left the bully well behind. He isn t really too fat, but he is overweight and he can t run as fast as I can. Once home, I put the scone in our bread box and went to my room to finish my math and science homework. My ... Germany s economics in industrial were growing due to the exports of heavy materials, and beneficially to politicians running the state. The economic growth of Germany lead them to create the Triple Alliance in 1882. • 8. The Religions Of Shinto And Buddhism The two religions that are located in Japan are Shinto and Buddhism. The two religions in japan are extraordinarily unalike, while Shintoism believes that every living thing including rocks and sounds contain some type of god in them, and Buddhism is concerned with the soul and afterlife that happens in Buddhism. The religions differ very much from each other with little similarities. Buddhism and Shintoism differ in one using shrines while the other has temples, the two both have religious ceremonies, and one believes in the afterlife while the other does not. Shinto was originated in Japan and formed in five hundred BCE. Shinto the way of the Kami is the religion of Japan that was first used in the 6th century. Shinto has no founder, no sacred texts and no formalized system. Shinto is uniquely Japanese, and believes in a god named Kami, the Shinto believe that Kami exists both as spiritual beings but as well as in nature. The Kami is not like Western Religions, because the Kami is not perceived as an all powerful god, but as a creative force. Buddhism was formed in the 5th century B.C.E. in northern India. The religion was started by a man named Siddhartha Gautama, who is also referred to as the Buddha or the enlightened one. • 9. Factors That Affect Resistance Of Organizational Change 1. Introduction Organizational change has been defined as a planned alteration in the normal patterns or activities within an organization, which is initiated from a position of authority and intended to improve the organizational effectiveness (Argyris, 1970). Resistance has been defined as any act designed or implemented to inhibit progress toward organizational change (Coch and French, 1948). The general view of factors that affect resistance to change developed out of a need to understand organizational dynamics and improve organizational effectiveness (Coch and French, 1948). Previous research has identified a wide variety of factors that affect resistance to change (Gray, 1984). This paper makes an attempt to discuss in detail important and most commonly reported factors that cause individual s resistance to change. 2. Factors of Resistance to Organizational Change 1. 1 Lack of knowledge and understanding: Miller et al., (1994), Del Val and Fuentes (2003) and Oreg (2006), one of the most important factors responsible for the individual resistance to change is lack of understanding regarding purpose, process and consequence of the organizational change. As a result of lack of knowledge sometimes individuals will oppose even the changes that in fact promote their self interest. According these studies, in circumstances when individuals have no sufficient knowledge about the cause and consequence of change they feel anxious, insecure and stressed as a result they ... Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of Powers The separation of powers, originally established by Baron Montesquieu in De l Esprit des Lois (1748) can be seen as an integral part of any constitution. Montesquieu voiced the necessity for a separation of the primary three bodies: the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. To a large extent, the judiciary form a separate body from both the executive and the legislature. It has been said, that as the United Kingdom has an unwritten Constitution we have a need for trust and accountability in our public bodies and another need to enhance the credibility and effectiveness of our public institutions. • 12. Demand Curve And The Supply Curve In some cities around the world (e.g. Berlin, New York, and Stockholm) rent control is used to ensure housing is affordable. Using the Market model, conduct an economic analysis of rent control. Use the analysis as a basis for providing recommendations regarding its introduction in London. Rent control, like all other government mandated price controls is a law placing a maximum price, or a rent ceiling, on what landlords may charge tenants. If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed (Walter Block). The Market Model (figure 1) shows that there is a gap between supply and demand. This is demonstrated by two curves which are the demand curve and the supply curve. Consumers of a product are encouraged to increase purchasing when the government decreases prices and as price rises to decrease purchasing, whereas, suppliers are encouraged to increase production when prices are high and decrease production when prices fall. The market model shows that at one point the demand curve and the supply curve intersect. This is called the equilibrium price where production is equal to demand thus there is no surplus and no shortages. Figure 1 can also describe a Pareto efficient economy. This is where all possible Pareto improvements have been made: where, therefore, it is impossible to make anyone better off without making someone else worse off (Sloman, Wride and Garratt, 2012, p 318). INTRODUCTION 1.1 Definition of e Service Quality E service quality (e SQ) is a study of the quality of service received over the internet. This can be defined as the extent to which a website facilitates efficient and effective shopping, purchasing and delivery (Zeithaml et al., 2000). Over the next four years, it is estimated that the number of online buyers in the UK will rise by over half of the UK s current population, from 26.9 million to 31.8 million (marketresearch.com). Clearly, this is a very large and profitable market, with businesses securing increasing numbers of sales online each year (British Retail Consortium). Higher website quality leads to higher profitability levels (Vanitha et al, 1999), therefore having an efficient and effective website is crucial for obtaining sales, and e SQ is a major factor in securing customer loyalty (Cristobal et al, 2007). Some academic researchers have created comprehensive scales to measure e SQ. • 29. Elizabeth Cady Stanton s Declaration Of Sentiments And... A Call to Women, a Call to All Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought tirelessly against inequality between men and women, an issue that still plagues this nation. From her first address to her last, Elizabeth was the voice of the women s rights movement. She lectured across the nation and publically debated the unjust laws of her day ( Elizabeth Cady Stanton... ). Two of her more prominent and potent speeches were Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions and Solitude of Self . These speeches served as her introduction and adieu as an overt promoter of women s rights ( The Women s Rights... ) (Hogan). Though Stanton gave both her Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions and Solitude of Self in support of women s rights, due to the differing audiences addressed, the speeches vary in structure, overall message, appeal, and use of rhetorical devices. Stanton orates A Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions on July 19, 1848, at the Seneca Falls convention, to a crowd consisting of mostly females. This marks the first gathering devoted to the women s rights movement ( The Women s Rights... ). Stanton models her speech after the Declaration of Independence (Appleby 74 77). She reflects the structure by beginning with a preamble followed by a declaration of natural rights. She then lists man s grievances against women in the same fashion that the nation s forefathers listed the king s mistreatments against the colonies. She concludes with their, the women s rights movement s, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Luther Movie Analysis The film Luther (2003) did not accurately portray the social and political aspects of the Protestant Reformation. The film does not give enough detail to historically represent the German peasants and nobility; it also dramatizes political characters and events to specifically target Luther s enemies, giving inaccurate information in the process. The film lacks the detail to historically portray the social aspects successfully because the plot orbits around Martin Luther; it omits different aspects of the Peasants Revolt, specifically the relationship between the German peasants and nobility. Throughout the film, Eric Till the director eliminates most of the interaction between the German peasants and nobility allowing the film to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then again, Luther after the revolt wanted social order and discipline; the theologian s voice was more reactionary than radical. On the contrary, his reactionary opinions discouraged lots of peasants and nobles thus abandoning Luther s Protestant Reformation. German peasants and nobility s negative attitude towards Luther was not shown due to his protagonist appearance throughout the film. As well as the omission of taxation and German s opinions, Luther fails to identify The Protestant Reformation was poorly represented throughout the film because the use of exaggeration in certain scenes and characters to elevate Luther s positive attributes does not give an accurate aspect of the political components. Alfred Molina who portrayed Johann Tetzel an indulgence seller did an excellent job in the film but over dramatized his character: With this indulgence, I can absolve any sin. I can even save the souls of a man who violates the mother of God herself (Luther). Tetzel was indeed a convincing priest who said absurd statements to sell indulgences. However, in the motion pictures, Till had a different vision to represent the indulgence seller in a exaggerated way. Tetzel in the film does outrageous things such as burning his hand or claiming he could save a soul that violated Virgin Mary; the priest has never done anything as extreme as the film. The director does this intentionally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Frederick V Vs Ferdinand II The Law is Always Right: Frederick V vs Ferdinand II in the Thirty Years War The Thirty Years War that spanned most of the Holy Roman Empire drawing in most of the European superpowers of the time started off as a much smaller rebellion in the Kingdom of Bohemia in the east of the Empire. The Bohemian revolt started with the Defenestration of Prague where two Catholic regents and a secretary were thrown out of a window by a group of frustrated Protestants. The regents had been placed in control of the city by the Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, Matthias to rule until his successor, Ferdinand of Styria, was elected to replace him. The Protestants were frustrated because their petitions to Matthias asking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Frederick s justification for taking the Kingship is that he was trying to restore peace and protect the Protestants in Bohemia. He claims that the Protestants were being victimized and that if he did not assume control in Bohemia then the blame for any more lives lost in the conflict could be placed on him. He explains why him taking control should not be seen as a power grab in the following quote: Therefore we have not sought a greater elevation, nor have we tried to gain the above mentioned crown of Bohemia by force of through any other actions, a fact to which the estates that elected us have publicly given witness (and can continue to do so). Furthermore, given the deplorable situation, we also had no reason to do so, but would instead have much preferred to have seen the return of peace. By assuring the readers of his declaration that his motives are pure Frederick negates what would be the first argument against him. If his taking of the Kingship were to be seen as a power grab he would have no legitimacy and would struggle to find any support. There are two key points to the above quote. The first is that he did not force his way into the position. While this may seem obvious there was the possibility that he was elected under threat of violence. The other is that he would have preferred a peaceful resolution over the current ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Sheet Mask Risk Risk of Using a Sheet Mask Sheet masks have been super popular these days, and I do sometime use them for fun. Yet, did you know that almost all sheet masks that are not required to be kept in a fridge contain a lot of preserva tives? Imagine there s some food wrapped in wet tissue in a zip lock bag. If it s kept at room temperature for a long time, it will spoil and mold will start to grow, right? The same principle applies to sheet masks too. Sheet masks contain lots of great natural ingredients and these ingredients are like foods. Natural ingredients attract microbes, so preservatives are needed to keep the natural ingredients in the mask fresh. Sheet masks are fun and very moisturizing, so you might be using them very frequently, but I highly suggest you limit how much you use them. If you can, check the ingredient list first before you pur chase a sheet mask. Natural ingredients are great, but if the mask has a lot of preservatives so you don t have to refrigerate it, those chemical preservatives counteract the benefits of the natural in gredients, right? ... • 34. Stuart Davis Research Paper Stuart Davis was an American modernist painter born on December 7th, 1892 June 24, 1964. He was well known for his Jazz influenced paintings and the two main mediums he used to create his artworks were printing and painting. Davis was commonly known as the Father of pop art , frequently using contrasting vibrant, radiant colours, intricate and rugged shapes, and text in his pieces to portray the Jazz theme. He adapted various techniques such as cubism and expressionism to develop his own individual style. The genre of Davis work is abstraction, still life and landscape all beautifully executed with a tongue in cheek sense of humour that some say was before his time. In his early career he was a cartoonist which may have influenced his style ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, by the time the Abstract Expressionists took the New York art world by storm in the 1950s, Davis art struggled to maintain its modernist edge. Another decade would pass before Davis visionary presence would be cemented in art history. In the1960s, artists of the Pop Art movement admired his attention to mass culture. Long before painters such as Andy Warhol and Ed Ruscha, Davis was painting soap boxes, billboards and gas pumps with a tongue in cheek wit that was ahead of his time. Most of Davis influences came from his surrounding American urban environment in the 1920 s and 30 s, such as the commercial world of the US, neon signs, jazz music, and the American nightlife. Not only this, but Davis was inspired by the American language during the 1940 s and 50 s, using text which is portrayed in his compositions to enhance the meaning of his artwork. Davis pushed the regular boundaries by using letters, words and phrases in his paintings. There were many artists who influenced and inspired Davis to create his own style such as the group called The Eight lead by Robert Henri (1864 1929). Henri encourages modern American painters to go against the rules and be radical within their artworks. Furthermore, Marsden Hartly (1877 1943) was another great influence of Davis , who painted The German Flag series in 1914 presents a type of abstraction linked to cubism. • 35. The Chemistry Of Fluid Dynamics Essay While there is certainly much left to be explained and understood in the field of fluid dynamics, there is still a certain level of common sense that one has concerning what one would consider to be ordinary fluids, such as water. It makes sense that such fluids, say, take the shape of their containers, or tend to flow down an inclined plane, or proceed with the same mass flow rate given that the fluid does not build up along the flow channel. Likewise, with solids, there are certain, seemingly common sense properties, such as a certain level of resistance to deformation and a certain amount of elasticity. However, there are some materials which are effectively in an in between state which exhibit properties of both viscous liquids and elastic solids, known as viscoelastic fluids. This edition of elastic properties to what would otherwise be well characterized as viscous fluids poses novel scientific questions from the scale of the nanoparticles contained within the viscoelastic fluid up to considerations of viscoelastic fluids stretching across space. Regarding the latter, M. S. Janaki, N. Chakrabarti, and D. Banerjee have investigated how viscoelasticity changes the behavior of a self gravitating fluid in space with a particular focus on the Jeans instability, or the mechanism by which internal pressures can no longer counter balance the self gravitational force of such fluids, prompting a collapse [].
