Social Media And The Communication Style Of The Millennials
According to Angelo Young in How social media is dumbing down our communication , the large
number of people who use the internet in generation X only had one or two accounts, texting was
boring and expensive, and mobile phone is designed only to call other people. Technology develops
rapidly on social media, which changes the communication style of the Millennials, the group of
people born at the beginning of the 21st century and in the 20th century. Communication is a process
of sharing not only information and ideas but also meanings and feelings. However, social media is
changing the way people communicate with each other. Social media have made differences in the
communication style of the Millennials in contrast to the previous generation in the context of the
communication form and the way people share their feelings. Social media has brought differences
with the communication form of the millennials compared with the previous generation. The previous
generation used to talk to others face to face before the invention of social media. They didn t have
lots of Internet friends compared to the Millennials, so they spent most of the time talking to their
family members. My mother is a member of the previous generation. She told me that she and her
friends who lived on the same street would meet once a week sharing stories and work experiences.
My mother concluded her time was fun and gratifying. As Kate Gale expressed in Life before email
and social media , people

Favorite Learning Experience
During my early years of life, I absolutely loved learning new things. I would wonder around the
house and garage and look for items that were interesting. I was a very tactile child, in which I needed
to touch and feel objects and items in order to learn about them. My parents and grandparents taught
me to count at a young age using money and household items. For example, every morning, I went to
McDonalds with my grandfather, and I purchased a cappuccino to take home for my grandmother. The
overall cost of the coffee would be 95 cents, and I would receive a nickel in change. When we left
McDonalds, my grandfather would give me the nickel as long as I saved the nickels and counted them
in the pickup truck. At a young age, I had already learned the alphabet and numbers. My absolute
favorite learning activity and form of play as a young child included spending time with my
grandfather on the new land, in which I helped build the house. I followed him around, played on the
dirt pile, and was interested in the tools he would use to build cars and furniture.
From birth to three years old, I was intrigued by toys that played music. For example, I used rattles to
make noise, and I played music with a toy xylophone. My parents and grandparents also assisted in
reading books with sounds and different textures for sensory input. My family also bought me a
musical activity gym where I could flat on my back on a mat with a variety of toys that played music
above me.

Old Imperialism In Africa
Throughout history, Africa and the Middle East have been colonized by many different countries
around the world. Imperialism and colonialism have had great impacts on the occupied country,
economically, socially, and culturally.
Imperialism is a policy of growing a powerful country by extending its rule over foreign, weaker
countries, often to gain influence in that country s politics and economy. Imperialism is often carried
out to take advantage of resources in another country. During the Age of Imperialism , there were two
different eras: Old Imperialism and New Imperialism. During the Old Imperialism Age, Europeans
were seeking routes to Asia, and started to colonize in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. From the 1800s
to the 1900s, it was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wuthering Heights Negative Parenting
Most parents and children have a strong bond. They rely on one another to better themselves, and if
that bond isn t there, things fall apart. Whether it is the child s fault or the parent s, negative outcomes
may form. This is vividly shown in Wuthering Heights. In Wuthering Heights, one of the main
negative parenting examples is shown in Heathcliff. Although Heathcliff was treated well by Mr.
Earnshaw, his siblings and adopted mother differed. In the beginning this was stated, He has been
blaming our father(how dared he?) for treating H. too liberally; and swears he will reduce him to his
right place (Bronte, 15). This quote shows the anger Heathcliff had, especially for Hindley. At the end
of this quote he hints at planning his revenge against Hindley, later executing it on Hareton(Hindley s
son). This Later, this greatly affected Heathcliff as he looked for revenge when he mistreated Hareton
just as Hindley had treated him when they were younger. Heathcliff also became a very bad person in
general, wishing that Cathy not rest in peace and haunt him, and his manner and mischief towards
everyone around him. Heathcliff s abuse towards Isabella is also a result of his childhood as well as
the heartbreak of Catherine. In the novel, the parenting of Hareton symbolize hardship and strength. It
symbolizes this because Hareton although not smart, powers through his rough childhood and shows
strength in overcoming those obstacles, later ending up marrying Cathy and now is

Analyzing the Juvenile Justice System
The juvenile justice system is imperfect, at best, and part of this stems from the fact that juvenile
justice, as a specific, discrete category of crime and punishment is still a relatively recent
phenomenon. In fact, the notion of childhood and adolescence as distinct phases of human
development is a novel idea that did not truly emerge until the twentieth century, so it is only natural
that some elements of the juvenile justice system seem to have been made up they went along. Now,
however, after substantial research into juvenile delinquency, it causes, and potential solutions, a much
clearer picture of the phenomenon is emerging that will allow parents, teachers, legislators, and law
enforcement officials to better reduce juvenile delinquency without imposing unnecessarily harsh
restrictions of juveniles. By examining the history of the juvenile justice system alongside more recent
research into juvenile delinquency, it will be possible to see how the most effective treatments going
forward will likely focus on reducing risk before delinquency occurs and rehabilitating juveniles
already in the justice system, as opposed to more punitive measures that mark juveniles as a criminal
and thus hinder them for the rest of their lives. It is necessary to begin this study with a look at the
history of the juvenile justice system, because as mentioned above, the notion of childhood and
adolescence as a distinct phase of human development, and thus deserving of special

The Pros And Cons Of The SEC.

the SEC is to protect investors; maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets; and facilitate capital
formation. The SEC strives to promote a market environment that is worthy of the public s trust. You
gain a relatively good idea of their ultimate purpose through this mission statement, but a look at the
SEC s 2014 2018 strategic plan (which is only up for draft at the moment) will gives us better insight
into exactly what they are aiming to achieve. In this report, the SEC identifies primary strategic goals

According to govexec.com, federal employees on average now earn 35.2% less than their private

education and extensive time commitment. Second, it could be frustrating working for a government
agency due to the red tape that is placed by regulations and rules on your work. There will be times in
which creativity and collaboration are not welcomed, simply because it s not legal. In the end, for
someone looking to establish a credible career in the financial world, the SEC would be a great place

Dante s Journey Of Salvation
As Dante makes his ascent through hell and purgatory, he is guided by two figures. The first is Virgil,
who saves him from peril and accompanies him, as a friend, through the layers of both afterlifes. The
second is Beatrice, who inspired Dante s journey of salvation in the first place, and who he longs to be
reunited with. Yet although these guides are leading him towards God, Dante mistakes their guiding as
the end itself. He makes a God of Beatrice, sees her as the ultimate good towards which one strives,
and makes a Jesus of Virgil, the man through whom this ultimate good is reached. In this way, Dante
creates his own trinity, much to the detriment of his ascent to the True God.
His first mistake, through which the others stem, is equating Beatrice to God. While she was alive, her
beautiful eyes and lovely limbs were the only things keeping him on the holy path. This is clear when
he confesses Things set in front of me, / with their false delights, turned back my steps / the moment
that Your countenance was hidden (Purgatorio.31.34 36). He could have avoided traveling through the
afterlifes had he not overvalued her in the first place. In fact, even when he is promised redemption
through his journey, it takes Virgil mentioning Beatrice as the end goal of his journey to persuade
Dante to begin the undertaking (Inferno.2.57 126). Dante still sees Beatrice, rather than God, as the
end towards which he strives. For her sake alone he goes down into the deepest pits of

Personal Health Records
At its core, a personal health record (PHR) is a computerized tool that is designed to allow patients to
control, store, use, and share their personal health information. Braunstein (2014) stated that,
According to a 2010 national survey done by California Health Foundations (CHF), patient access to
health data does actually improve care (pg.81). People who have access to their medical records are
more aware of their health, are more interested in their health, and are taking better care of
themselves. This is an important step towards decreasing this country s chronic illnesses, which, in
return could possibly reduce medical spending. In order for personal healthcare records (PHRs) to be

In my opinion Disney is one of the best things in the whole world! Disney makes everyone feel happy,
every single Disney movie has a lesson, and it s meant for all ages. Whether it s Disney World or a

jokes that make everyone laugh, And along with that, Disney movies also have a lesson that always
gets you thinking. Therefore, I believe saying Disney makes everyone happy is quite fair to say. As I

in the movie Beauty and the Beast the lesson t is to accept people for who they are on the inside, and

into the arena as well. These mobile devices are having a significant impact on our lives and are in fact
redefining the way we access information and communicate with others. This is due to not only the
hardware but the specialized software that these devices run and most importantly, their operating

Just like a PC can run different operating systems (like Windows, Linux, BSD etc.) or different
versions of the same operating system (like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 etc.), most

Financial Statements Of The State Of California
The financial statements of the State of California convey valuable information to outside users about
the State s fiscal position and how it utilizes financial resources. The objective of this essay is to
identify five things that I can ascertain about the State of California from these financial statements.
One thing you can learn from the financial statements is how many legally separate entities the State
of California is financially accountable for. The governmental accounting term for these entities is
called component units, and when they are presented separately from the primary governmental funds,
they are discretely presented as if they are a separate fund of the primary government. Component
units that are not discretely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it is unfair to compare the magnitudes of these numbers without providing scale, it does speak
to the differences in scale between California and Ohio. For Ohio, OSU represents just 39.11% of total
expenses and 19.70% of total net expense for component units. More information can be found about
both Universities in their respective state s Discretely Presented Component Units Financial
Statements section.
To find information on the blended component units, you must review the component units section of
the Overview of the Financial Statements (Government wide Financial Statements). The blended
component units include the California Public Employees Retirement System and the California State
Teachers Retirement System as well as other Fiduciary component units. Since these units are blended
into the primary government s financial statements, it is harder to dissect any pertinent information
from them. This represents one thing you can learn about from a government s financial statements:
how many component units it has and particular figures for any discretely presented component units.
The next thing you can learn from a government s financial statements is about its infrastructure.
Typically states elect to use the modified approach for capitalizing infrastructure. Under this approach,

this also means that by saying they are under no rule of crown, they are there for putting themselves

Analysis Of Normal Life By Dean Spade
Dean Spade and Critical Trans Politics
Activist and professor Dean Spade, in his book Normal Life: Administrative Violence, Critical Trans
Politics, and the Limits of Law, condemns current law policies surrounding discrimination and hate
crimes against transgender and gender non conforming populations. Spade proposes a critical trans
politics that is superior to the equal rights efforts of gay and lesbian activists up to this point in United
States history. Instead of desiring to be included in a law enforcement system that oppresses the
people it claims to protect, proponents of Spade s critical trans politics argue that the entire system,
along with all related systems of policing and regulation, need to be either fundamentally ... Show

This drastically reduces the life chances of poor people, queer and trans people, immigrants, and
people of color. In practice, every law system and mainstream law reform effort has attempted to
assign people and groups of people into two categories: who is worthy of a chance at a good life, and
who is not. Spade s proposal of a critical trans politics creates a system in which life chances are
redistributed in a way that gives marginalized groups the opportunity to survive and succeed. Within
the United States government en masse, there are many legal systems that contribute to the uneven
distribution of life chances and thus require dismantling and radical reconstruction. These include the
criminal justice system, the education system, the prison system (also called the prison industrial
complex), the social welfare system, the immigration system, the housing system, the healthcare
system, and the U.S. military. Each of these legal and political systems in some way targets a specific
population within the United States, very often transgender and gender variant people, and directly
reduces that population s life chances. This is the issue that Spade seeks to amend when he proposes
the move toward a critical trans politics.
Changing how large governmental structures function is neither an easy task nor a quick one; it will
require the undoing and unlearning of a very tightly held political and economic system by all parties
involved. At the center of Spade s call for

Essay Juggling
A Princeton researcher, Les Fehme (Brain/Mind Bulletin vol. 8, no. 9. May 1983), suggest we can
optimize our overall performance in life by broadening our focus. Juggling is one excellent way to do
that. He claims most people have a narrow focus, a lack of awareness of their own body sensations or
emotions. This narrow focus can be very absorbing and useful, as when talking on the telephone,
driving a motorcycle or getting a massage. It is as if nothing else exists except that. When learning
how to juggling, the narrow focus can be directed at a certain ball or pin. This narrow focus agrees
with observations that we live in a society which sees things as fragments rather than holistic. But
things are changing. And just maybe, juggling is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only that, but according to a test performed at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, lefties
scored higher in creativity than right handers regardless of age. It went on to explain four aspects of
creativity flexibility, fluency, originality and elaboration.
Since the right hemisphere is normally associated with creativity, then any activity which helps to
awaken this suppressed hemisphere is certainly welcome. Enter juggling. Who could argue juggling
does not use both sides of the brain? Both hands are used in juggling, aren t they? If an accomplished
juggler now wants to learn a new trick, once again the focus must become narrow, the ball or pin must
capture the attention (enter left brain activity). Like a beginning new juggler, he or she must focus on
throwing a double flip with the right hand before the left hand can throw a pin behind the back.
In teaching people to juggle, they learn faster when asked to tell each time they have done something
wrong. At first, they have no awareness of wrong movements. Once they recognize them, they can
eliminate them. Therefore it is essential to practice in order to learn juggling. The simplest movement
requires complex electrical/chemical circuitry within the brain. The study of this circuitry is fast
becoming an important field of neuroscience. Perhaps someday neurosurgeons will electronically
hook up a juggler and a monitor and the neuron action, which travels back and forth between the two
hemispheres

Essay On Wittgenstein Concept Of Grammar
One of the essential aspects of philosophy is the capability for good communication. It is because this
discipline involves a practice of articulating thoughts and opinions or of disseminating arguments. In
simple sense, it circumscribes sharing of ideas and information between two or more persons.
However, as a philosopher one must take into consideration the aptness to establish and justify one s
personal opinion, to acknowledge others perspective, and to specify logically the reason for
considering one s own view as advantageous to the alternatives.
In response to this reason, Ludwig Wittgenstein claimed that one of the most important aspects of
communication in philosophical standpoint is grammar. It is in view of the thought that Grammar ...

Essay about Marijuana Should Be Legalized
In a country where tobacco products and alcohol are legal, I have always wondered, why not
cannabis? Why did this plant still have the stigma of being illegal when it does not cause any deaths,
is not nearly as physically addicting, nor as harmful as its legal counterparts? Clearly, the law of
marijuana prohibition is one that is up for debate and one that is up for change. Currently, many state
laws have been passed that are either decriminalizing marijuana or allowing it for purely medicinal
purposes. Although these laws are moving towards legalization, they do not come close to the actual
goal. The definition of legalization advocates are striving to reach refers to legalized wholesale

Essentially, people will always use marijuana because it is an alternative source of relaxation and
recreation. The government should learn to embrace these people s ability to choose rather than
prohibiting this source of intoxication which, despite its illegality, is already prevalent in society.
Not only would there be an increase of freedom of choice, but many people would literally gain
freedom. Allen St. Pierre, the Director of NORML (National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws)
states that since 1965, nearly 20 million citizens have been arrested in the United States on cannabis
related charges. More astonishingly, nine out of ten of these charges are for mere cannabis possession.
Such arrests are so frequent that almost everyone I have come in contact with has a friend or family
member affected by these petty laws. Even with new decriminalization laws, in nearly every state, a
person who commits a marijuana offense and fully serves his or her sentence (or successfully
completes probation) is nonetheless subject to continuing and long lasting professional debilitation,
barriers to family life, and limits on civic participation (Pierre). It is unfair that many people have to

and dance forms, as well as their attire, cuisine and language dialects. Because of their various
subgroups, the variety of their culture is heightened further. The Igbo language was used by John
Goldsmith as an example to justify deviating from the classical linear model of phonology as laid out
in The Sound Pattern of English. It is written in the Roman script as well as the Nsibidi formalized
ideograms, which is used by the Ekpe society and Okonko fraternity, but is no longer widely used.
[115] Nsibidi ideography existed among the Igbo before the 16th century, but died out after it became
popular among secret societies, who made Nsibidi a secret form of communication.[116] Igbo
language is difficult because of the huge number of dialects, its richness in prefixes and suffixes and
its heavy intonation.[117] Igbo is a tonal language and there are hundreds of different Igbo dialects
and Igboid languages, such as the Ikwerre and Ekpeye languages.[5] In 1939, Dr. Ida C. Ward led a ...

Amory Blaine In This Side Of Paradise
This Side of Paradise is the first novel of beloved author F. Scott Fitzgerald. Drawing greatly from his
own life, Fitzgerald tells the story of Amory Blaine. Blaine is born to rich parents who move from
Britain to New England. He is noted as a handsome boy a world of privilege handed to him as he
spends his early years trying to fit in with his new classmates. His high school career is spent at a
boarding school from which he moves to Princeton. It is half way through college that Amory realizes
how empty conforming to school social standards has left him, his grades spiral but his love for
literature grows. With new and larger thoughts filling his head, Amory enlists to fight in WWI. Upon
returning from the war, his heart is stolen truly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There s is an immense pressure on the boys to excel in academics, sports, and clubs to ensure their
acceptance to colleges. His education is quite similar to today s America. It is in this accademia that
Amory first tries to identify himself. Through his first college years, Amory learns how to work the
social structures of the great American school system. After failing a math class, Amory loses his first
definition of himself and turns to philosophy instead of his graceful conversation. Throughout this
section of the book, Fitzgerald makes numerous references to authors that Amory reads. Many of these
books are likely what influenced Fitzgerald while writing This Side of Paradise. Amory s love life is
likely the greatest window Fitzgerald gives the reader into the social structure of the 20 s. Amory
quarts girls from a young age, attending dances and parlor parties one after the other. He also attends a
bobbing party, a popular get together in the 20 s in which girls would cut their hair short in a large
group. We also see how important financial security was to women when Rosalind leaves Amory.
Although she is truly in love with him, her fear of an unsure feature over takes her. Because women
still weren t commonly holding jobs, they depended on their husbands

What Divided Whigs and Tories in the Reigns of William Iii...
Jack Wilson
What divided Whigs and Tories in the reigns of William III and Queen Anne (1688 1714)?
The early days of the new reign of King William III of Orange and his wife Queen Mary II were
overshadowed by uncertainty. Could James II hasty departure be treated as abdication? If so by which
means mere physical absence or a violation of fundamental laws? And what kind of steps should be
made to ensure such monarchic contractual failures didn t occur again?
Such questions were a true cause of glory in the Glorious revolution . People with incompatible views,
despite the passion of beliefs and the heat of the moment, where driven together in pursuit of a
compromise through diplomacy. This uncertainty, arising as a result of ... Show more content on

But their support was not confined to the countries gentry: the party garnered strong backing in
backward, agrarian regions as well as small market towns[9]. The Whigs were largely associated with
the nouveau riche: those who lacked aristocratic lineage but had acquired considerable wealth within
their generation, usually through their own exploits and endeavour. This included the substantial
number of merchants, financiers and monopolists that emerged during William and Anne s reigns. The
party was also strong in budding industrial areas and amongst religious dissenters[10].
Although it may not seem like such on first inspection, the principles adopted by Whig and Tory upon
William s succession to the throne in 1689 followed much the same pattern as those adopted during
the Exclusion Bill crisis of 1678 1681. Just as in the exclusion crisis the Whig s stance hinged entirely
upon their religious beliefs. Like Charles II, James II and his newborn Stuart heir were Roman
Catholic. All Whigs were united by the unwavering belief that Roman Catholics, regardless of their
lineage, should not under any circumstances be in possession of the throne[11]. Such a scenario, in
their eyes, would endanger Protestant religion, liberty and property. This principle was not totally
unshared by the Tories. However, in the case of William, it was severely undermined by other staunch
Tory beliefs namely their belief in indefeasible hereditary succession, non resistance and passive

Dyslexia Essay
The Roles of Genetics and Nurture on People with Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a lifelong struggle with constant challenges with reading and speaking. About five to ten
percent of the United States population deals with the learning disorder dyslexia (Van den Honert,
n.d.). It is a neurological condition that is mainly caused by genetics but there are some rare cases in
which it is acquired. Dyslexia interrupts the normal processes of reading and speaking (Van den
Honert, n.d.). All of which are used in daily life and this makes life and school so much harder for

a story they sometimes forget where they were going with it. They know what they want to say and
they know the words they want to use but it takes them so much effort to string them together. (Boston
children s hospital, 2005). This causes a dyslexic so much frustration and also embarrassment (Boston
children s hospital, 2005). There are different tests that can be done to test for dyslexia. One test that is
done is giving a person many words that sounds like real words but are spelled incorrectly. It is hard
for dyslexics to pick these words out (Van den Honert, n.d.). Also, tactile localization is another test
used and it tests the corpus callosum. The patient is instructed to close their eyes while someone
touches their finger and the patient must identify where they were touched and if they make more than
two errors this is a sign of dyslexia (Van den Honert, n.d.). When a person is diagnosed with dyslexia
they must be aware of the challenges they are going to face. They must be educated about their
condition and how it will never go away they just have to try their hardest to overcome it. As a child it
creates frustration and embarrassment while in class, or even talking with friends. Unfortunately there
is no treatment but, there are strategies and actions taken to help people deal with their dyslexia.

Amendments To The United States Bill Of Rights 1689
. The Bill of Rights 1689 is largely a statement of certain positive rights that its authors considered
that citizens and/or residents of a free and democratic society ought to have. It asserts the Subject s
right to petition the Monarch and the Subject s right to bear arms for defense. It also sets out certain
constitutional requirements where the actions of the Crown require the consent of the governed as
represented in Parliament. In this respect, it differs from other bills of rights, including the United
States Bill of Rights, though many elements of the first eight amendments to the United States
Constitution echo its contents. This is in part due to the un codified constitutional traditions of the
United Kingdom, whereby the English

My Favorite Experience In My Life
Pass. Set. Spike. Serve. Dig. I have heard these words surround me since I was young. Sports have
played an important part of my life since I was young taking a parent and me swim classes at the local
YMCA. I was that kid who played almost every sport out there, from karate to soccer to basketball.
Even after all that, it still took me still took me years to find my true passion as far as sports go.
Both of my parents played volleyball growing up so it has always been in my life one way or another.
My two brothers couldn t care less about it, rather spending their days playing soccer and video
games.
All of a sudden, the first day of school, middle school, rolled around. My school offered a sports
program, so without hesitation, I had decided to sign up for volleyball because I wanted to try
something new and try to find an activity that would keep me happy and busy. Sixth grade flew by and
seventh soon came. As per the one year tradition, I signed up to play volleyball. This year, I played on
my school s varsity team.
Seventh grade was the year I tried out for club volleyball. My first year of club volleyball is where I
had some of the best and worst experiences of my life. My teammates are some of my best friends,
who I have known from previous sports our parents made us suffer through. This team also happens to
be one of the worst in the league, taking second to last place in the league. We lose every tournament,

What Is The Moral Of The Little Mermaid
A Devious Motion Picture The Little Mermaid, directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, appears
as an innocent story about a princess mermaid who marries the prince of her dreams, receiving
everything she wants with the power of her royalty father, king of the sea. That is the way children see
it, but in reticent ways, this film is unsuitable for children. Expectations have been raised for our
children contradicting high or low status in class struggles, different beliefs and morals in ideologies,
and different languages/cultures in dialect. They are unsuccessful in demonstrating the class struggle
in this film by characterizing high status as most important, rather than educating children equality,

There are many family films out there that portray the important fundamentals and morals for children
to perceive such as values in caring for your family, or values in education, or even the equality and
equity we struggle with. Parents and guardians need to take stand in focusing on the messages in the
films our children are watching, and fill their minds with the positive messages in this world. Children
should not be learning to develop an animosity or bias on cultures or nationalities, or high or low
classes, they should be focusing on the lesson to love everyone equally, and treating every person the
same, and with the respect as they deserve. This film portrays an unrealistic realization for kids and it
is causing a negative outlook on their own ideologies and views in society. This film proves many
apprehensions and reasoning in why it is an appropriate film for kids to be watching, and it is very
important we stop filling their minds with this logic, and start filling their minds with the true
importance and morals in life, encountering them with a positive outlook on the

Richard IIi, By William Shakespeare
Children bring out the underlying disposition and wicked intentions we all possess. Richard III, by
William Shakespeare, is a tragic play about the Duke of Gloucester who desires to be the king of
England. He does this through the manipulation and murder of many characters, including Queen
Elizabeth s children, Prince Edward and the Duke of York. These children emphasize some of the
adult themes in the play and reveals the devastating nature of these themes. Their characteristics and
deaths all contribute to the emphasis of these themes. Critics Marie Hélène Bisnaught and Michel
Bito, and Vincent Walsh all agree that the murder of Prince Edward and the Duke of York was an
atrocious deed.
Prince Edward and the Duke of York are innocent, precious, and witty. These traits the children
acquire truly highlights the extent of their deaths. Both these children are well beyond their years. This
clear when the Duke of York says I could have given my uncle s grace a flout, / To touch his growth
nearer than he d touched mine (Act II, Scene IV, Line 24 25). The young duke cleverly insults his
uncle s height and manners essentially saying that Richard is a short, disrespected man. The children s
innocence is also evident through the perspective of their mother and uncle. In the scene when Richard
III greets his nephew, Prince Edward, he says Sweet prince, the untainted virtue of your years / Hath
not yet dived into the world s deceit (Act III, Scene I, Line 7 8). Prince

Covidien is one of the many companies that are a division of Medtronic that will help to increase the

Duality In Plato s The Republic
In Plato s The Republic, Socrates reasons that poets are detrimental to society because they portray
false and abstract images that feed the bad and impious parts of the human soul, corrupting people by
allowing them to indulge in inappropriate and cowardly behavior. However, Socrates s views seem to
be based solely around reason and an objective, quantifiable truth. He wants people to be so pious and
under control that they do not even experience impulses towards impiety, however the elimination of
the choice between right and wrong also eliminates any value in the choosing right. Duality is an
integral part of human experience and it can perhaps teach us more than a simple existence of piety.
Socrates postulates that poetry and other imitative

Saul was chosen by God to unify the the 12 tribes of Israel and rule over them. Due to his obedience
to God, Saul was able to bring together the tribes and successfully led the israelites. Through his faith,
he was able to lead his people through numerous victories flourishing the newly united nation. After
many years of ruling, Saul had begun to stray away from the path of God, which eventually led to his
downfall as king. One day Saul and the prophet Samuel were set to offer up a burned offering to the
lord. But the act of offering the sacrifice was appointed to Samuel only because it was the duty gifted
to a priest. God had instructed the israelites the proper way to offer up a sacrifice to him. Saul was to
wait seven days until [Samuel came to him] and [told him] what [he was] to do. (KJV 1 Samuel 13:8).
Instead of waiting, Saul took it upon himself to offer the sacrifice. This blatant act of disobedience
offended God. Saul was instructed to wait for God to fulfil his promise. But, because of his lack of
faith in God s word he overstep his boundaries and decided to disobey. God then punished Saul by
telling him that his reign would come to an end and he would be replaced as King. Instead of

VAP is a growing problem in health care facilities which increases the cost of patient care and
increases patient care time, hospital length of stay, and patient morbidity. Ventilator associated
pneumonia increases healthcare costs by more than $40,000 per hospitalized patient (Lisboa, Kollef,
Rello, 2008). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to stop paying hospitals for necessary
care caused by preventable complications including nosocomial infections resulting in unintended
fiscal circumstances (Lisboa et al.). 2 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) established
recommended guidelines to decrease the risk of VAP. It is these best practice interventions that nurses
should follow when caring for mechanically ventilated patients. The 2003 CDC guidelines reported
that 63% of admitted patients in the ICU have oral colonization associated with a pathogen resulting
from VAP (Cason, Tyner, Saunders, Broome, 2007). The CDC provided a set of seven guidelines to
reduce risks related to hand washing, wearing gloves, suctioning, elevated head of bed (HOB),
education, oral hygiene program, and use of antiseptic rinse. Studies suggested that best practices for
reducing VAP were not consistently implemented. According to the Centers for Disease Control,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus were the two most common
bacteria linked to VAP (Babcock et al., 2004). Pseudomonas

Analysis Of The Interlopers And The Machine That Won The War
What do you prefer to read about? Maybe you like reading fiction or nonfiction, about heroes and
villains, in past or future. Whatever your preferences, when most people read a book, they typically
want to read about something relatable. People want to read about people that are like them. The
Interlopers and The Machine That Won the War are both short stories full of interesting plot points that
keep the readers hooked right until the last word. The Interlopers is about two men hunting each other
in the night, until a twist happens. The Machine That Won the War is about three men revealing
secrets about how the war was truly won. However, The Interlopers offers a more realistic plot and
relatable characters than The Machine that Won the War. In The Interlopers, the short story starts out
by taking us to a forest of mixed growth somewhere on the eastern spurs of the Carpathians (Saki, The
Interlopers). The winter night is cold and stormy, with the wind blowing wildly and the animals
uneasy, there was movement and unrest among the creatures that were wont to sleep through the dark
hours (Saki, The Interlopers). The forests are very steep, and the game it kept for hunting was not that
great, however the two characters and their family have quarreled over it for years. The narrow strip of
precipitous woodland that lay on its outskirt was not remarkable for the game it harbored or the
shooting it afforded. (Saki, The Interlopers). Hunting in these woods is the character

The Innate Immune System And Pattern Recognition Receptors
The Innate Immune System and Pattern Recognition Receptors The innate immune system, which is
also known as the non specific immune system, is an important component of the immune system that
recognizes and responds to potential pathogens in a generic fashion. In contrast to the adaptive
immune system, the innate immune system does not confer long lasting/protective immunity. The
innate immune system is typically considered the first line of defense and displays the ability to
discriminate against self (host) vs. non self (non host/potential pathogens). In order to recognize non
self molecules the innate immune system utilizes a range of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) to
detect molecules associated with potential pathogens.

Lord Of The Flies Jack Is A Leader Analysis
A powerful leader is one who knows how to lead with control and has strong leader characteristics. In
the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, some readers support the fact that Jack was a better
leader than Ralph, but others feel that Ralph was the better leader. Although several supporters feel
that Ralph is the best leader, it is evident that Jack is the better leader since he can effortlessly control
the group on the island.
It is clear that Jack is a better leader than Ralph because he is more of a demanding, manipulative
person. From the time the boys landed on the island, Jack was in control of the choir. The other boys,
led by Jack, run off in disorganized excitement to light the signal fire (Reilly, 3). This quote shows that
the boys followed in Jack s footsteps since they set foot on the island. Along with controlling the
choir, Jack challenged Ralph s opinions. We do not need the conch anymore. We know who ought to
say things (Reilly, 4). This quote demonstrates that Jack is making an attempt to control the group by
doing what is best for him, and he demands that the boys support his decisions. In addition, Jack s
main priority was to hunt and give them what they want. The point is that Jack is doing what he wants,
not what he ought (Reilly, 5). This quote illustrates that Jack is aware that he is the leader of the group,
for he is doing what he wants and not what he has to. Clearly, it is evident that Jack is the best choice

  • 2. Social Media And The Communication Style Of The Millennials According to Angelo Young in How social media is dumbing down our communication , the large number of people who use the internet in generation X only had one or two accounts, texting was boring and expensive, and mobile phone is designed only to call other people. Technology develops rapidly on social media, which changes the communication style of the Millennials, the group of people born at the beginning of the 21st century and in the 20th century. Communication is a process of sharing not only information and ideas but also meanings and feelings. However, social media is changing the way people communicate with each other. Social media have made differences in the communication style of the Millennials in contrast to the previous generation in the context of the communication form and the way people share their feelings. Social media has brought differences with the communication form of the millennials compared with the previous generation. The previous generation used to talk to others face to face before the invention of social media. They didn t have lots of Internet friends compared to the Millennials, so they spent most of the time talking to their family members. My mother is a member of the previous generation. She told me that she and her friends who lived on the same street would meet once a week sharing stories and work experiences. My mother concluded her time was fun and gratifying. • 3. Favorite Learning Experience During my early years of life, I absolutely loved learning new things. I would wonder around the house and garage and look for items that were interesting. I was a very tactile child, in which I needed to touch and feel objects and items in order to learn about them. My parents and grandparents taught me to count at a young age using money and household items. For example, every morning, I went to McDonalds with my grandfather, and I purchased a cappuccino to take home for my grandmother. The overall cost of the coffee would be 95 cents, and I would receive a nickel in change. When we left McDonalds, my grandfather would give me the nickel as long as I saved the nickels and counted them in the pickup truck. At a young age, I had already learned the alphabet and numbers. My absolute favorite learning activity and form of play as a young child included spending time with my grandfather on the new land, in which I helped build the house. I followed him around, played on the dirt pile, and was interested in the tools he would use to build cars and furniture. From birth to three years old, I was intrigued by toys that played music. For example, I used rattles to make noise, and I played music with a toy xylophone. My parents and grandparents also assisted in reading books with sounds and different textures for sensory input. My family also bought me a musical activity gym where I could flat on my back on a mat with a variety of toys that played music above me. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Old Imperialism In Africa Throughout history, Africa and the Middle East have been colonized by many different countries around the world. Imperialism and colonialism have had great impacts on the occupied country, economically, socially, and culturally. Imperialism is a policy of growing a powerful country by extending its rule over foreign, weaker countries, often to gain influence in that country s politics and economy. Imperialism is often carried out to take advantage of resources in another country. During the Age of Imperialism , there were two different eras: Old Imperialism and New Imperialism. • 5. Wuthering Heights Negative Parenting Most parents and children have a strong bond. They rely on one another to better themselves, and if that bond isn t there, things fall apart. Whether it is the child s fault or the parent s, negative outcomes may form. This is vividly shown in Wuthering Heights. In Wuthering Heights, one of the main negative parenting examples is shown in Heathcliff. Although Heathcliff was treated well by Mr. Earnshaw, his siblings and adopted mother differed. In the beginning this was stated, He has been blaming our father(how dared he?) for treating H. too liberally; and swears he will reduce him to his right place (Bronte, 15). This quote shows the anger Heathcliff had, especially for Hindley. At the end of this quote he hints at planning his revenge against Hindley, later executing it on Hareton(Hindley s son). This Later, this greatly affected Heathcliff as he looked for revenge when he mistreated Hareton just as Hindley had treated him when they were younger. Heathcliff also became a very bad person in general, wishing that Cathy not rest in peace and haunt him, and his manner and mischief towards everyone around him. Heathcliff s abuse towards Isabella is also a result of his childhood as well as the heartbreak of Catherine. In the novel, the parenting of Hareton symbolize hardship and strength. It symbolizes this because Hareton although not smart, powers through his rough childhood and shows strength in overcoming those obstacles, later ending up marrying Cathy and now is ... • 6. Analyzing the Juvenile Justice System The juvenile justice system is imperfect, at best, and part of this stems from the fact that juvenile justice, as a specific, discrete category of crime and punishment is still a relatively recent phenomenon. In fact, the notion of childhood and adolescence as distinct phases of human development is a novel idea that did not truly emerge until the twentieth century, so it is only natural that some elements of the juvenile justice system seem to have been made up they went along. Now, however, after substantial research into juvenile delinquency, it causes, and potential solutions, a much clearer picture of the phenomenon is emerging that will allow parents, teachers, legislators, and law enforcement officials to better reduce juvenile delinquency without imposing unnecessarily harsh restrictions of juveniles. By examining the history of the juvenile justice system alongside more recent research into juvenile delinquency, it will be possible to see how the most effective treatments going forward will likely focus on reducing risk before delinquency occurs and rehabilitating juveniles already in the justice system, as opposed to more punitive measures that mark juveniles as a criminal and thus hinder them for the rest of their lives. It is necessary to begin this study with a look at the history of the juvenile justice system, because as mentioned above, the notion of childhood and adolescence as a distinct phase of human development, and thus deserving of special ... There will be times in which creativity and collaboration are not welcomed, simply because it s not legal. • 8. Dante s Journey Of Salvation As Dante makes his ascent through hell and purgatory, he is guided by two figures. The first is Virgil, who saves him from peril and accompanies him, as a friend, through the layers of both afterlifes. The second is Beatrice, who inspired Dante s journey of salvation in the first place, and who he longs to be reunited with. Yet although these guides are leading him towards God, Dante mistakes their guiding as the end itself. He makes a God of Beatrice, sees her as the ultimate good towards which one strives, and makes a Jesus of Virgil, the man through whom this ultimate good is reached. In this way, Dante creates his own trinity, much to the detriment of his ascent to the True God. His first mistake, through which the others stem, is equating Beatrice to God. While she was alive, her beautiful eyes and lovely limbs were the only things keeping him on the holy path. This is clear when he confesses Things set in front of me, / with their false delights, turned back my steps / the moment that Your countenance was hidden (Purgatorio.31.34 36). He could have avoided traveling through the afterlifes had he not overvalued her in the first place. In fact, even when he is promised redemption through his journey, it takes Virgil mentioning Beatrice as the end goal of his journey to persuade Dante to begin the undertaking (Inferno.2.57 126). Dante still sees Beatrice, rather than God, as the end towards which he strives. For her sake alone he goes down into the deepest pits of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Financial Statements Of The State Of California The financial statements of the State of California convey valuable information to outside users about the State s fiscal position and how it utilizes financial resources. The objective of this essay is to identify five things that I can ascertain about the State of California from these financial statements. One thing you can learn from the financial statements is how many legally separate entities the State of California is financially accountable for. The governmental accounting term for these entities is called component units, and when they are presented separately from the primary governmental funds, they are discretely presented as if they are a separate fund of the primary government. For Ohio, OSU represents just 39.11% of total expenses and 19.70% of total net expense for component units. More information can be found about both Universities in their respective state s Discretely Presented Component Units Financial Statements section. To find information on the blended component units, you must review the component units section of the Overview of the Financial Statements (Government wide Financial Statements). The blended component units include the California Public Employees Retirement System and the California State Teachers Retirement System as well as other Fiduciary component units. Since these units are blended into the primary government s financial statements, it is harder to dissect any pertinent information from them. This represents one thing you can learn about from a government s financial statements: how many component units it has and particular figures for any discretely presented component units. This picture shows that America is proving to Britain that they are not under any rule of them, or that they are under rule of any crown. this also means that by saying they are under no rule of crown, they are there for putting themselves into a position that Britain doesn t agree with, so they could have the responsibility of War. • 18. Analysis Of Normal Life By Dean Spade Dean Spade and Critical Trans Politics Activist and professor Dean Spade, in his book Normal Life: Administrative Violence, Critical Trans Politics, and the Limits of Law, condemns current law policies surrounding discrimination and hate crimes against transgender and gender non conforming populations. Spade proposes a critical trans politics that is superior to the equal rights efforts of gay and lesbian activists up to this point in United States history. Instead of desiring to be included in a law enforcement system that oppresses the people it claims to protect, proponents of Spade s critical trans politics argue that the entire system, along with all related systems of policing and regulation, need to be either fundamentally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This drastically reduces the life chances of poor people, queer and trans people, immigrants, and people of color. In practice, every law system and mainstream law reform effort has attempted to assign people and groups of people into two categories: who is worthy of a chance at a good life, and who is not. Spade s proposal of a critical trans politics creates a system in which life chances are redistributed in a way that gives marginalized groups the opportunity to survive and succeed. Within the United States government en masse, there are many legal systems that contribute to the uneven distribution of life chances and thus require dismantling and radical reconstruction. These include the criminal justice system, the education system, the prison system (also called the prison industrial complex), the social welfare system, the immigration system, the housing system, the healthcare system, and the U.S. military. Each of these legal and political systems in some way targets a specific population within the United States, very often transgender and gender variant people, and directly reduces that population s life chances. This is the issue that Spade seeks to amend when he proposes the move toward a critical trans politics. Changing how large governmental structures function is neither an easy task nor a quick one; it will require the undoing and unlearning of a very tightly held political and economic system by all parties involved. • 19. Essay Juggling A Princeton researcher, Les Fehme (Brain/Mind Bulletin vol. 8, no. 9. May 1983), suggest we can optimize our overall performance in life by broadening our focus. Juggling is one excellent way to do that. He claims most people have a narrow focus, a lack of awareness of their own body sensations or emotions. This narrow focus can be very absorbing and useful, as when talking on the telephone, driving a motorcycle or getting a massage. It is as if nothing else exists except that. When learning how to juggling, the narrow focus can be directed at a certain ball or pin. This narrow focus agrees with observations that we live in a society which sees things as fragments rather than holistic. But things are changing. And just maybe, juggling is ... Not only that, but according to a test performed at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, lefties scored higher in creativity than right handers regardless of age. It went on to explain four aspects of creativity flexibility, fluency, originality and elaboration. Since the right hemisphere is normally associated with creativity, then any activity which helps to awaken this suppressed hemisphere is certainly welcome. Enter juggling. Who could argue juggling does not use both sides of the brain? Both hands are used in juggling, aren t they? If an accomplished juggler now wants to learn a new trick, once again the focus must become narrow, the ball or pin must capture the attention (enter left brain activity). Like a beginning new juggler, he or she must focus on throwing a double flip with the right hand before the left hand can throw a pin behind the back. In teaching people to juggle, they learn faster when asked to tell each time they have done something wrong. At first, they have no awareness of wrong movements. Once they recognize them, they can eliminate them. Therefore it is essential to practice in order to learn juggling. The simplest movement requires complex electrical/chemical circuitry within the brain. The study of this circuitry is fast becoming an important field of neuroscience. Perhaps someday neurosurgeons will electronically hook up a juggler and a monitor and the neuron action, which travels back and forth between the two hemispheres ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Essay On Wittgenstein Concept Of Grammar One of the essential aspects of philosophy is the capability for good communication. It is because this discipline involves a practice of articulating thoughts and opinions or of disseminating arguments. In simple sense, it circumscribes sharing of ideas and information between two or more persons. However, as a philosopher one must take into consideration the aptness to establish and justify one s personal opinion, to acknowledge others perspective, and to specify logically the reason for considering one s own view as advantageous to the alternatives. Why did this plant still have the stigma of being illegal when it does not cause any deaths, is not nearly as physically addicting, nor as harmful as its legal counterparts? Clearly, the law of marijuana prohibition is one that is up for debate and one that is up for change. Currently, many state laws have been passed that are either decriminalizing marijuana or allowing it for purely medicinal purposes. The government should learn to embrace these people s ability to choose rather than prohibiting this source of intoxication which, despite its illegality, is already prevalent in society. Allen St. Pierre, the Director of NORML (National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws) states that since 1965, nearly 20 million citizens have been arrested in the United States on cannabis related charges. More astonishingly, nine out of ten of these charges are for mere cannabis possession. Such arrests are so frequent that almost everyone I have come in contact with has a friend or family member affected by these petty laws. Even with new decriminalization laws, in nearly every state, a person who commits a marijuana offense and fully serves his or her sentence (or successfully completes probation) is nonetheless subject to continuing and long lasting professional debilitation, barriers to family life, and limits on civic participation (Pierre). The Whigs were largely associated with the nouveau riche: those who lacked aristocratic lineage but had acquired considerable wealth within their generation, usually through their own exploits and endeavour. This included the substantial number of merchants, financiers and monopolists that emerged during William and Anne s reigns. The party was also strong in budding industrial areas and amongst religious dissenters[10]. Although it may not seem like such on first inspection, the principles adopted by Whig and Tory upon William s succession to the throne in 1689 followed much the same pattern as those adopted during the Exclusion Bill crisis of 1678 1681. Just as in the exclusion crisis the Whig s stance hinged entirely upon their religious beliefs. Like Charles II, James II and his newborn Stuart heir were Roman Catholic. All Whigs were united by the unwavering belief that Roman Catholics, regardless of their lineage, should not under any circumstances be in possession of the throne[11]. Such a scenario, in their eyes, would endanger Protestant religion, liberty and property. This principle was not totally unshared by the Tories.
