Chie Chief Complaint
According to Bickley (2012) a comprehensive health history, which is often refer to as a complete
health history is the collection of certain health information that is unique to that individual. This
information is usually collected in an organized manner and consists of seven components. These
components are, identifying the data and the data source/reliability, chief complaint, present illness,
past history, family history, person and social, and review of systems (Bickley, 2012).
Identifying the data and it source/reliability the source usually is who is presenting the information,
such as, the patient or the patient s family. While identifying the data consist of the individual s age,
gender, occupation and marital status. On the other hand reliability is based on the patient mental
state (Bickley, 2012). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients who can verbalized and are alert usually state their complaint. For patient who are not
able to verbalized, usually there are someone who will act on their behalf but there are times when

Present illness present illness is a detail account of the problem pertaining to the chief complaint.
This detail account consist of the onset, setting, manifestation and attempted treatment measures
pertaining to the problem. Also under this component information pertaining to the individual s
medication, allergies, habits of smoking and alcohol usage is gathered (Bickley, 2012). The plan of

eStore at Shell Case Analysis Student sample
Case Synopsis
In 2002 Shell Canada, a large Oil and Gas company, launched the eStore software application to
service their price sensitive Agricultural market segment by offering a lower cost service. Calvin
Wright (eProduct manager) helped implement the eStore application, which was geared to service
this Agricultural Segment market. The Agricultural Segment was considered by Shell to be high
costs since local sales representatives were used in order to sell the product. By introducing a cost
saving application, eStore, users would be able to place their orders directly online. However, when
the number of eStore users remained unchanged, Wright headed to the field to determine the ...

IT developed an application that was to be used by the Agricultural Segment, however the eStore
design was not created nor considered by the customer user friendly (complex security password
design). Such complex features are more likely to be seen in Intranets. Since this application is
supposed to act as an eStore more security should have been implemented for the invoicing portion,
and less when browsing for a product.
What differences are evidenced in this case between the development and deployment of customer
facing applications versus employee facing applications? How did the type of application affect the
use of eStore?
When developing the eStore, Shell did not seem to adhere too much to the customers needs, but
rather servicing the needs of the company (developed a cost effective system). In the consultant
report it is identified that customers had trouble differentiating which login application they should
choose since they presumed to be presented with two options. The customer had the perception
that by using the left side of the screen they would use an insecure login (Rainer, 2008, pg. 176).
The IT development of eStore was approached as being used by someone that had some application
knowledge and training prior to navigating the

Chemical Causes And Effects Of Falling In Love
What are the chemical causes and effects of falling in love? There are three phases of love,
which include the following; lust, attraction and attachment. Lust is a phase driven by hormones
where we end up in an experience of pure desire. Attraction is a phase where you are overcome in
new feelings. Attachment is a phase where you grow bonds and feel connected. As stated by
Science Daily, Blood flows to the pleasure center of the brain during the attraction phase, when we
feel an overwhelming attraction towards our partner. This behavior fades during the attachment
phase, when the body develops a tolerance to the pleasure stimulants, and in other words, becoming
accustomed to your partner. Endorphins and hormones vasopressin and oxytocin also submerge
the body at this point, creating an overall sense of felicity and security that are necessities to a
lasting relationship . Although getting struck by Cupid s arrow may very well take your breath
away and make your heart go pitter patter, doctors caution that certain physical responses to love
may work to our disadvantage. According to Joe Masters, a writer and blogger, The initial stages of
lust, physical attraction, eye contact, or anything that makes you intrigued about someone. In this
stage, there is a lot that can happen but we might not feel an immediate attraction to someone, and
eventually develop it over time. Or we might instantly feel a connection to someone, and develop it
from there. What happens in this

Personal Narrative-AP Teacher Mrs. Alves
I find myself in a perpetual whirlwind of phases so the only concrete things I have to bandage
together some sort of identity are the things my therapist has noticed about my speech patterns
and thought process. I love to (over) analyze, (over) think, and (under) achieve. It s possible the
reason I have phases with music, film, and taste in clothing or art has come with the realization
that there s so much stuff, and I don t want to miss out on anything. I grew up reading fantasy and
watching films like Labyrinth, which I credit to the beginning of my interest in literature and

I don t feel productive if I m not painting or writing or creating something. I coincide with all the
ugly and pretentious attributes associated with artists. I love to be hunched over a piece I m

and its validity in my last dying breath. I have a hard time distinguishing between being
pretentious and being passionate, and spent a very long time qualifying everything I would say

The Battle Of The Fairfax Court House In Virginia
The first person who reported back to the Fairfax Court House in Virginia after the skirmish was
Major General Julius Stahel of the commanding Cavalry Division department of Washington due to
the orders received. The skirmish began between the hours of seven and ten in the morning. Stahel
states that it all started with an attack done by Mosby, with his band of guerrillas, together with a
portion of the Black HorseCavalryand a portion of the North Carolina Regiment. The strategic
attack was done in the sneakiest way, Mosby and his conjoined calvaries and regiment blindsided
their opponents without any warning as they came from Warrenton. So to sum it up, the army

However it wasn t over yet, seventy men who were a part of the Fifth Regiment New York
Cavalry, that was posted in the rear came to the rescue. Under the command of Major Hammond,
the men came upon the rebels from behind just as they had did the First Virginia Cavalry in
their sneak attack. Shortly after, a running fight ensued between both sides. The fight continued
for about five to seven miles down the side of the railroad. So, the men followed the rebels in
every direction possible, killing and wounding a substantial amount of soldiers. Mosby being
one of the wounded, was reported shot in the shoulder, resulting in the compromise of his force
with the exception of twenty. However the end didn t come until the fight made its way toward
Warrenton all the prisoners taken by Mosby were recaptured, with the exception of two. Not
only that but Major General Stahel believes if their horses had been in better condition, and not
tired out by the service of the last few days, Mosby, nor a single one of his men, would ve
escaped. But despite the horses being tired out, and them being outnumbered the First Virginia and
Fifth Regiment New York managed to come out with a crazy victory. On the other had, the rebels
suffered a tragic loss. Their men were murdered and scattered along the road from Warrenton
Junction to Warrenton. However besides those killed, many were immediately removed from the

Huber (2006, p154) states that clinical decision making in nursing relates to the quality of care
the patient receives and how competent the nurse is. Over the past 30 years nursing has evolved
from a task oriented to a logical and systematic approach to care, using theories and models to
guide practice. According to Jasper (2007, p117) theories of decision making in medicine tend
to favour logical, precise analytical models which are held to be testable, unambiguous and
repeatable, therefore satisfying scientific principles. These represent important ideas of certainty
and rationality that are intended to provide a sense of security and reliability. When used
correctly a nursing model should give direction to nurses working in a particular area, as it
should help them understand more fully the logic behind their actions. It should also act as a
guide in decision making and so reduce conflict within the team of nurses as a whole. This in turn
should lead to continuity and consistency of the nursing care received by patients according to
Pearson et al (1999,p ). Banning (2008, p ) states knowledge for decision making is obtained from
many sources and has been described as both informative

Summary Of Survival In Auschwitz By Primo Levi
Title One of the natural instincts of intelligent beings is in the case of fear to fight, or to run
away; however, in some cases like in the concentration camps in Germany during World War II it
is hard to do either of those two natural responses. This issue, with not being able to enact on this
natural instinct because of the restriction of being closely controlled, is related to Primo Levi in
his autobiography Survival in Auschwitz he was a captured Italian Jew who was able to
survive Auschwitz because of how he internally thought with himself to stay alive. The
Holocaust is one of the most researched events during World War II; and Levi is one of the,
relatively, few who survived, and went on to be able to tell his story. In Survival in Auschwitz
Levi detailed the horrible conditions the soldiers lived and worked in as well as the malnutrition
he experienced. Levi also detailed his struggle to stay human which, along with climbing up the
social ranks, helped him survive; As a result of these struggles Levi seems to believe there is at
least a slight lesson to learn from his survival. During World War II, if a person was labeled as a
Jew, whether they were actively practicing or not, and was captured then sent to a concentration
camp life was absolutely brutal. Unless you were in Ka Be, the concentration camp version of an
infirmary, there were hardly any sanitary places. Even the bathroom which should be clean and at
least have clean running water was disgusting; as

Pros And Cons Of South Carolina
South Carolina, a state with plenty of history and marshland was actually not discovered until a
while after North America had been founded. In fact, Virginia was colonized almost sixty years
before South Carolina was. However, European countries had beforehand attempted to colonize
this area. In 1521 Francisco Gordillo, of Spain, sailed to the Carolina coast, he did not try to settle
the area, but he did attempt to enslave the natives and send them to the Caribbeans. To have settled
the area, would mean to have built a lasting community that can live on it s own. Soon after, Lucas
Vasquez de AyllГ
іn brought 600 settlers to try and colonize the area. However they ran into many
problems such as: weather, sickness, low food supplies, and hostility... Show more content on

Notice how in Document B it mentions; The land of South Carolina for a hundred or a hundred
and fifty miles back is flat and woody; intersected with many large rivers, . Although, from this
portion of the document, South Carolina seems to be a nice place to settle, but this also had quite
a few disadvantages. The flat land in the Carolinas, offered no protection to the settlers., Ssure,
the land would be great for farming, but there is no protection for them from the natives or any
animals. Just like in the saying: In war, it s better to have the higher ground , tells that the land
wouldn t offer offensive assist either. Also, from the same quote, it states that there are many large
rivers , these rivers could easily have brought forth animals that posed a great threat to the settlers.
Speaking about animals, in Document C it is mentioned that there are endless Numbers of
Panthers, Tygers, Wolves, and other Beasts of Prey, . This shows that the animal life is always
active, and that there are many animals hunting Beasts of Prey such as deer. This was an advantage,
because it allowed food, and a disadvantage, because the vicious animal hunted in the night, keeping

The Impact Of Environmental Performance On The Consumption...
Companies face a multitude of challenges when it comes to Supply Chain management ranging
from profitability and cost management to visibility and customer satisfaction. With the increased
awareness of environmental practices, there is an expectation that businesses should evolve to be
more environmentally conscious. As stated from a 1987 Brundtland Report known as Our
Common Future , (WCED, 1987) sustainable development is one that meets the needs of the
present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The
influence of environmental performance is a growing decision criteria for customers in the
consumption of products/services. This is evident from a survey conducted by the Natural
Marketing Institute (Kaiser, 2008) which reveals that 30 percent of American consumers are willing
to pay 20 percent more for products made in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
A growing number of companies are working towards incorporating environmental and socially
responsible business practices to their value chains, from suppliers to customers. By doing so, the
not only tackle the many risks, social and environmental, and challenges inherent in supply chain
management, but also reap the many benefits that supply chain sustainability can offer.

from raw material acquisition to delivering the final product to the customers. They work

How Did The Medici Family Influence The Renaissance
THE MEDICI FAMILY S INFLUENCE
The Medici family were the most powerful citizens of Florence, leaders of the largest bank in
Europe, and through strategic marriage alliances, joined many of Europe s royal families. They
controlled Florence throughout much of the Renaissance, played a large part in the patronage of
the arts and the political development of the city. They faced many challenges, had both positive
and negative effects and they tried to have solutions to most of their problems which some did not
work. This is an example of the Common Themes Theory.
The Medici family had an economic problem of safety. The Pazzi conspiracy threatened the
safety of the Medici family. Although it was a maxim of Medici policy to retain close ties with
the Holy See, relations between Lorenzo and Pope Sixtus were not always cordial. The Pontiff
was very displeased when Lorenzo s diplomacy achieved an alliance between Florence, Venice, and
Milan, for such a combination was more than a match for the armies of the Church. Sixtus felt
thwarted in his ambitions to expand the papal territory and uneasy ... Show more content on

Prior to the late fifteenth century in Florence, the losers of political conflicts routinely faced exile
as punishment for their perceived crimes. Following the Pazzi conspiracy of 1478, however, such
political criminals increasingly received death sentences rather than banishment (Baker). This is an
example of negative effect. The Medici family positive effects are seen through their patronage
support to most artist. According to our text (culture and values), Cosimo s most significant
contribution to the advancement of Greek studies was the foundation and endowment of an
academy for the study of Plato (Cunningham) Lorenzo continued the family tradition of art
patronage by supporting various projects and by adding to the Medici collection of ancient gems,

The Drug War along the border of Mexico and the United States is one of the longest coordinated
engagements of law enforcement (who have accepted the aid of the Mexican military) in both
countries history (Winslow, 2015). The history of this unofficial war is extraordinarily
complicated; rife with both political and criminal players, violence, corruption, bad policy, and
controversy. Its importance to America and Mexico cannot be underestimated, especially in its
role in legislation, law enforcement techniques, and public opinion. The sheer size and scope of
the war surpasses general understandings of battlefields and skirmishes; but it is obvious where
the most warfare is occurring the border (Pacheco, 2009). To explore all of... Show more content on

This dramatic operation effectively ended after about 10 days, and was completely abandoned
after 20 both public and political outcry from both sides of the border pressured him to ease up.
It is here that one may consider the first shots were fired of the war on drugs, in the Mexican
theatre. However, Nixon was just one step in a progression of drug policy reforms since the early
20th century. But for the sake of conciseness, many historians consider this a key turning point in
Mexico US relations relating to illegal drugs (Payan, 2006). Over the next two decades, the US
carried out swift and largely effective operations to stop the flow of cocaine from Columbia
through the Caribbean (Vance, 2011). The Columbians, frustrated by the DEA s efforts there,
sought a new pathway to the lucrative American public and they turned to Mexico. Miguel Angle
Felix Gallardo an already successful drug lord who had an efficient system already in place for his
heroin and marijuana distribution saw the prospect and immediately agreed to aid the Columbians.
This agreement formed what could be considered the largest drug cartel Latin America has ever

efficiently move these drugs into the US at an alarming rate prompting an aggressive counter drug

Developmental Prosopagnosia
Developmental prosopagnosia (DP) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder that affects
~2% of population. In contrast with acquired prosopagnosia, it occurs in the absence of brain
damage. The insufficiency in face recognition of people with DP can lead to chronic anxiety and
stress, despite the presence of normal intelligence and vision. Ocular scanning patterns can provide
valuable information on the nature of the facial recognition deficits in DP. Visual scanpath can
differ depending on stimuli and the goal oriented subject. One of the most accepted theories on
face processing involves holistic face perception in which faces are recognized as a conceptual
whole, by integration of spatial relations among facial components and featural information into
one representation. Inversion effect is a valuable tool in studying DP. According to double mode
hypothesis, faces are processed by a specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A visual scanpath can be used to determine whether the person was previously exposed to a
certain face, even in the absence of explicit recognition. Such effect can be seen by decreased
number of fixations and sampling of fewer regions due to prior experience of an observer.
Previous studies, have shown that DPs do not always show evidence of covert recognition. It is not
clear whether DPs have internal representations of faces and the pathways connecting them are
damaged or whether they do not posses any facial representations. (Bate). The difference between
scanning saccades while viewing famous and novel faces can provide evidence for any residual
memories that can be intact. Some researchers argue that patients with developmental
prosopagnosia should not exhibit covert recognition since they DPs have defective facial
processing since childhood and facial memories rely on making memories(Bate). Such is not true
for patients that have acquired

Expanding Our Horizons – Animal Welfare Concerns
After a state of the art breakthrough at a scientific laboratory, several tested animals became
capable of human intellectual capabilities and emotions. During an unseen event, they escape the
facility, no longer remaining hostage as test experiments. Ten years pass and now the roles have
reversed. These super hybrid animals are now the top of the food chain and humans are their
pawns. In a reversal of roles, zoos now hold humans in depicted natural environments and local
grocery and department stores are farms where forced humans eat, breed, and slaughter for animal
consumption. This change of events became due to years of neglected rights and abuse to the
animals.

The lack of research and public knowledge greatly hindered considerations for animal welfare
including fair and ethical treatment. In order for us as humans to understand animals more
thoroughly, more research studies are required in order to examine the similarities of animal and
human relations. We can further relate with animals if we understand they too have emotions
similar to ours and not outcast them due to their species classification. Even as studies and
research conducted prove great and remarkable results, the public should be aware of the
information generated. With the public aware of such studies, we can finally relate to animals and
take in their considerations of how they feel in certain situations. The implications of this are vast
ranging from common household pets, livestock, to even captive animals within a zoo. Learning
these studies and making this knowledge available to the public could provide helpful insight as
what to do in treating situations such as coming across a bear in the wild.
Research roles of animals have been very beneficial to the human race. Within case studies of
animals, such items as vaccinations, cardiovascular bypass surgery, and treatments for cancer have
become possible (Medina, 2008). It is important to understand the welfare for animals and the
research involved within the process is

The lyrics form a message to the people who are insecure or being bullied for who they are.
Christina starts off by narrating and says don t look at me, which foreshadows the shame she or
other people feel about themselves and also sets the tone of the song. Every day is so
wonderful. Then suddenly it s hard to breathe, expresses what one feels when someone bullies or
throws out words at them. A person s actions and words can affect how a person feels about
themselves. From all the pain, I m so ashamed, interprets how a person can t change themselves for
others. I am beautiful no matter what they say. Words can t bring me down is a thought every
single person should keep in mind when they re being looked down upon. The word beautiful...

The visual of the song begins with a destroyed flower representing unattractiveness. It goes on
with young people and adults half naked signifying the insecurity they have about themselves
and their bodies. There are different actors representing different situations people go through.
An anorexic girl looking at herself in the mirror is shown. She stares at herself for a while and as
the song goes on she ends up breaking the mirror. The mirror represents the view other people
see when looking at her, the reason why she broke the mirror was to finally feel like she
accepted herself as she is. A gay couple is shown together and everyone that passes by stares at
them. They realize they are silently being judged but do not pay attention. They start to kiss in
public without caring about the judgmental stares they are receiving. Another character presented
is a man wanting to bring out his feminine side without hesitation. In the end he puts on his
feminine clothing and wig. He expresses himself by being feminine even after hesitating whether
or not to get dressed as a woman. Many more characters are presented to represent the different
people who are mistreated for being different. Everyone smiles in the end and there is a sense of
acceptance of themselves. The video ends with a blossomed flower which represents beauty that
each person has. The visual illustrates that words can hurt people and some do

The Last Of The Mohicans Movie Essay
In the time of the 7 years war, is the timeframe which The last of the Mohicans was written in and
then later, made into a film based on the novel. I will be describing the plot, both the historical
accuracies and inaccuracies, the film themes, and my opinion of the acting, all on the 1992 film. I
was completely impressed with this film. Not having read the book I cannot compare the two,
however I can compare what I saw with actual events from that time and what I saw. The plot of
this film starts out in 1757, the American colonies are in the middle of the third year of the French
and Indian War. This war was comprised of English and French soldiers fighting for the possession
of the continent. It starts out with this quote in the beginning... Show more content on

It lingers too much on either the romance or the feud between Magua and Col. Munroe. All great
parts of the story, yes, however, if you were watching The Last of the Mohicanspurely for
historical purposes and to find out things about the war, you wouldn t learn much. Yes, the
movie (and the book as well I m sure), does depict for the most part of what I could tell,
everything accurately. It is the point of it not showing enough about this huge event in our
history. How did the war get started? Who won the war? What all tribes and alliances aided both
sides? There are a lot of left out details, unfortunately, which makes it hard to follow the details of
the French and Indian war. For example, the fight between Magua and his Indians against
Munroe and the English was quite a bit less violent than what is led to believe. Not to forget, we
are not shown the reaction of Montcalm in finding out his Huron Indians disobeyed him in
letting the English go safely. Also, the deepest inaccuracies I do believe come from what the
book had written and what the movie chose to tell us. Those things aside though, it is a marvelous
film. Yes, there are some inaccuracies in this film and probably even in the book, however, for a
Hollywood production, I think they outdid themselves (did amazing). It can be a little hard to
follow at times, but the film is overall

Situation Analysis
Environment
The economic environment from 1982 to 1990 was the age of new technology. During this time
there were many new companies emerging in the computer industry, trying to find a niche market.
The economy was trending towards a large increase on economic wealth and very low
unemployment rates. The culture was starting to embrace the idea of computer technology and the
idea of networking.
Industry
The industry in which Sun Microsystems is competing in is computer workstations for scientists,
engineers, and commercial companies. Sun s founder s believed there was demand for a desktop
computer workstation costing between $10,000 and $20,000 in a market niche, ignored by
minicomputer makers such as, IBM, Data General, Dec, and Hewlett Packard. Sun s executives
believed that they would only have a short time in this market before the other large companies
decided to enter, because it was an exclusive market with a high entry barrier, but with opportunity
for extensive profitability.
The workstation market for engineers and scientists was rapidly becoming saturated. The company
is now concentrating more of its efforts on airlines, banks, insurance, financial companies, and other
commercial companies, trying to persuade users to utilize Sun workstations to solve new problems.
Sun had to change their product design to make its machines easier to install, and improve the
understandability of product manuals. As Sun

The neighborhood that I decided to discuss is the South Bronx. I was born and raised in different

Summary Of Las Mariposas
The Mirabal sisters were instrumental in the toppling of Rafael Trujillo s regime in the
Dominican Republic. Julia Alvarez uses Las Mariposas to exhibit different ways in which people
can become politicized in times of revolution. She uses these women for several reasons: they are
well known, and while they all had the same up bringing they all hold different values. The Mirabal
sistersbecame politicized in different ways and for different reasons. Minerva became a
revolutionary when she saw that her country was unjust. Mate became a revolutionary when she
see s that love is not alienated in the rebellion and that her help is needed. Patria became a
revolutionary when her faith was rekindled and her faith becomes apart of the revolution.
Minerva, the first sister to become politicized, does so when she meets someone whose life has
been directly, and negatively, influenced by Trujillo in a horrible manner. When Minerva goes to
Immaculada Concepcion she meets a young girl named Sinita who tells her about what Trujillo
has done to her family. One of her family members spoke out against the dictator and for that
reason he and the rest of the men in the family were killed. When Minerva hears this she stands
up for Trujillo and Sinita responds by saying Don t you get it? Minerva, don t you see? Trujillo is
having everyone killed! (19). This statement by her friend opens Minerva s eyes. She had not
realized how awful people were being affected by him. He was having people killed so that he
could have power, and nobody knew about it. This opening of her eyes is how she was
politicized. She was aware of the atrocities and wanted to help free herself and her country from
someone she viewed as the devil himself. Minerva is politicized when someone she cares for is
deeply affected by the harsh nature of the regime.
Minerva is politicized because her picture of justice was shattered. Minerva had always wanted
to be a lawyer and therefore had very strong feelings about justice and what is wrong or right.
When she saw that the man she had always assumed was flawless had flaws, and huge ones at that
she would have wanted to do something about it. Minerva says it best when she says And that s

Graphic Design And Art And Design
Often times a painting has the same structure as a design. The details can be similar for both
Graphic Design and Fine Art. Paintings such as Son of Man by Magritte which has basics such
as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops
was created of a decal of Son of Man. This design also had shadow, light, basic composition, and
an achromatic color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a
painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in their artwork.
They use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for designers and use it to create
their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons who manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and
paints hyper realistic paintings from those images. The structure and process for art and design
can be very similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics make is
that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. However there are countless artists
who are designers and vise versa. One famous designer would be Eva Zeisel. Eva Zeisel is
famous for creating a body of dinner sets which she created after she was released in Russia.
While imprisoned, Zeisel found inspiration in the curves of her own body claiming it was the only
art she had. Afterwards she created useful art which was her groundbreaking design of minimalist

The Use Of Ethos In Kitchen Confidential By Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain, world renowned chef and television personality, in his autobiography Kitchen
Confidential (2000), conveys his experiences working in the restaurant business high tension and
new stressors at just about every corner. More specifically in the chapter Food is Pain, he convinces
his audience that the abilities to maintain concentration, handle stress, and keep pace with the quick
movement of a high pressure environment are extremely important. Bourdain shapes this through
an anecdote of his past experience working under boiler man (Tyrone) at the Dreadnaught, with his
development of ethos, use of imagery, and manipulation of syntax to not only draw in but appeal to
a wider audience.
Ethos is extremely important in establishing the credibility of a writer, therefore countless authors
master and apply this rhetorical appeal in their writing by utilizing language styles. In many
persuasive works an author puts forth evidence of their professionality in the subject of their
writing, in order to gain trust from readers. Rather than establish himself as a professional chef,

the short as well as long term outlook for linerboard prices and the profitability of the linerboard
industry. Furthermore, what basis, if any, is there for expecting AtlanticRoyal s combined
linerboard and box mill operations to do better/worse than the industry overall?
The background information about the industry and also a detailed description of the competing

As we know, Atlantic Corporation was considered as one of the nation s largest forest products
producer, its operations in the linerboard industry have not been strong. Hence, if Atlantic
purchased Royal s Monticello mill, it would increase its profit margin greatly. Additionally, it was
expected that 1984 would be a healthy year for this industry, the chances got higher again that
Atlantic could position well in the overall industry.
2. Is the price of $319 million reasonable for the Monticello Mill and Box Plants based on a cash
flow analysis? Assume cash flows consistent with Table A, Table B and Exhibit 3, a discount rate
of 13%, and a terminal value equal to the book value of assets in1993.
Since this case deals with the purchase of cash flow generating assets, we will conduct a cash flow

When confronted with conflict, people have response with courage or cowardice When confronted
with conflict, it is often faced with difficult, or even threatening, situations. Often when humanity
finds itself in conflict, coping with the struggle of interpersonal, cultural and racial, inner or moral

Beresford s Paradise Road, but also in real life situations.
It is naturally human to experience conflict, we will all be forced to respond to conflict at various

uniting individuals together and the cruellest and inhuman responses. Resulting in America leading

people.
That faced with inner conflict the individual has a choice between what is the best and the worst
decision in that conflict. Encountering conflict is often portrayed with negative experience by
humans, however it is through these experiences in which people discover inner strength that they
never knew they possessed, both physically and mentally. Through the discovery of these traits,
many people can overcome conflict and create workable solutions to difficult problems, or even
make appropriate compromises. A monumental example of this was Rosa Parks the mother of the
freedom movement , an African American activist in the time of the black and white segregation,
refused to give up her seat in the coloured section of the bus to a white passenger, after the white
section was filled. This portray of inner strength sparked the movement of the abolishment of the
segregation, empathising an individuals character is found in encountering conflict.

Flat Tax Rate: Rich Households Have Had Enough Rich households have been paying too much
in taxes these past years. Earners in the top 1% pay about 43% of their incomes in tax. [While]
people in the middle quintile pay 25%. [And] the poorest fifth pays 13% (Barro). And yet some
politicians, like Donald Trump, think the solution to resolving our country s debt is by taxing the
top percent more. In reality, the United Statesshould have a flat taxrate due to the fact that it is the
fairest plan and the hard work pertained by the top percent should be valued. The way flat tax
rate works is that everyone gets taxed the same percentage regardless of their income. For example,

It is also used of resources such as building schools, roads, paying government employees but the
fact of the matter is that its all for the public. Why should you make high income citizens pay for
things that everyone is using. We should all put in the same amount of money that goes into
these projects, since after all there for everyones use. Why would you penalize people that
worked hard for their money when everyone else had the opportunity to do so. Even if its old
money, someone struggled to gather that money, the government cannot just take that away.
Being rich is rare privilege, not fairly common, if not it would not feel so unique. With the
method we have now we are just going to balance everyones finances out, we need a diverse
income for our population. If not people will not have any ambition, not strive. A country has to
create riches, not distribute them if they do the economy as we know it will go in a decadence.

them have corporations in which provide work, if a flat tax was issued those same corporations
would have more resources to expand their business to create more job. With the rate our tax plans

Insider, he says, I don t want to be a Democrat. Until things change, I ll sit in the middle and think

not a follower. Cuban directly explains this concept from what he says. He will not believe what
everyone says just to fit in, he will tell then what he thinks. And if they won t let him join their

Abraham Lincoln, he isn t afraid to say I disagree . Another way he shows that he understands
how to be a leader is in another quote from the same interview. He states, Leaders are not

Why Tanning Should Be Banned
You may think they are just getting a nice looking tan when going to a tanning salon, but what they
actually are doing is putting their lives in danger. Around 1.6 million teenagers use tanning beds
each year; unfortunately, this could cause the development of the deadliest skin cancer. While
some people believe that they are getting a base tan, this really does not exist. Instead, their skin
will slowly age prematurely, acquire age spots and wrinkles, and in time may even develop cancer.
Indoor tanning should be banned for minors and regulated more thoroughly for adults. The first
thing that many people think is that they are going to get a base tan to help protect them from the
sunwhile engaging in outdoor activities such as going to the beach or sitting by the pool. What
they do not know is that a base tan protects their skin the same amount that spf 3 sunblock would.

Freedom is not a racial thing but for every citizen whose life has been affected by the path taken
by the American development. The America projected while freedom was a country of hope,
equality and freedom (Schmidt, and Lynne, 776). The American freedom was not on gender and
race only but a freedom that spread its wings to embrace economic freedom and equality. However,
the current America is not a country that many including Hughes anticipated. A class system is the
division is the classification system in the modern America; millions are drowning in the lake of
poverty while a few one percent are floating in the cream of wealth. It is this inequality that Hughes
wants addressed; it is the equitable distribution of resources that make him concerned for the
poor American citizen; either of African, Indian, polish, Irish and English descent. These are the
people who left their ancestral home to come and realize their dream of a happy life in America.
They are the people who bear scars of slavery and those who toil with machines (line 20 amp; 32),
these who were fooled and pushed apart by the greedy and selfish bourgeoises. Hughes seeks the
freedom these people who are poor and hungry despite the American dream of achieving human
happiness by eradicating all forms of human misery.

Summary Of The Episode Remains To Be Seen
Goffman (1963) refers to stigma as being a disorder that an individual carries, it is a mark of
shame in which something unusual or bad about the person is exposed. When people express an
impression to the manner they want to present their self, they play a virtual identity to avoid
exposing their actual identity because it might be stigmatized. Goffman (1963) also mentions
when people are stigmatized they worry about how others see them, which is the similar to how
we feel when performing a certain role to keep what we consider normal people from finding out
the truth about our shame a characteristic of what we think is abnormal/weird to other people.
Glacalone Rosenfeld (1989) compare social situations to interviews, an approach where an
individual selects the perception and behavior to reflect their good qualities to the person they
are performing for. Despite trying to give a reasonable impersonation of one self, people run the
risk of being discreditable, which is a stigma that is not readily perceivable to others. Allan
(2014) also discusses that some people are already discredited, when normal people are readily
aware about a person s stigma as they try to pretend that they do not notice, or the person who is
already stigmatized plays it off to show or perceive their shame... Show more content on

It is not readily perceivable that Dexter is a killer, due to the fact that he has this impression of
being a good guy . The serial killer is in danger of exposing his actual identity because of the
situation he had placed himself in, which is forgetting where he had placed the body after getting
himself into an accident and sustaining a concussion. The mark of shame the character possesses is
that of a murderer, however, in this particular condition, the people watching the show already

The Prayer Of The Pharisees
Something that God spoke to me through my devotions one morning this semester was that
knowledge without action is dead, and that action in my life will lead to action in the lives of
others. We were reading through Matthew 23 and 24, and in verses 3 4 of chapter 23 it says,
referring to the Pharisees, ...so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the work they do.
For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on
people s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. I already
knew this was the attitude of the Pharisees, but this particular morning I felt like God was opening
my eyes to how I can apply this passage in my own life. Not only do I need to... Show more content

In addition to that sort of thing, I have noticed a few issues in the world and in ministry today
that I believe need to be addressed. The first is a distorted view of who God is. There are so
many people today that are angry with God or even believe that God is angry with them, or they
see God as this harsh and demeaning God who simply demands us to follow all sorts of rules and
regulations. I believe that this is one of the biggest issues, in and beyond the American culture that
people have with God. Unfortunately, we as Christians misrepresent God all of the time, and this
gives those that do not know Christ a very distorted view of God and what His character is like.
Rather than seeing God s character of love and truth, they see rules, regulations, inconsistencies,
and so on and so forth. This must change. To help rid people of this inaccurate view of who God
is, it is vital to walk through the salvation story with them. I learned in my Polity class about how
the salvation story is all throughout Scripture. Not only can we see this in the New Testament,
but it is throughout the entire Old Testament as well. This is something that I had never realized
before, but once I did I was able to see how God truly desires relationship with us. Relationship is
huge with God. This is not because He is in some way lacking relationship for there is perfect
relationship within the Trinity but, because of His character of love, He desires for us to

The Stereotypes Of Cheapskate, Impulsive Buyer
We see many people when shopping. In public, we are able to see what they are wearing, how they
act, their attitude, and their personality. These people can range from many different stereotypes
such as: the Cheapskate, the Impulsive Buyer, and the Hater. Even though these people have
different attitudes toward shopping, they all have the same goal: which is to to shop. Coupons,
sales, rewards, and memberships are the holy grail to a shopping Cheapskate. They are the
people we see at the checkout with a book of coupons and dollar signs in their eyes. Cheapskates
are individuals who never buy anything full price and will stop at nothing to save a buck. These
singular identities use coupons all the time and only shop on sales racks. For example, on the tv
show Extreme Couponers, these citizens have it all figured out about being cheap at the store. The...

I buy everything on site; sometimes, without even looking at the price and quality of the

the average person; therefore, I buy more makeup than the average person. Peach blush,
champagne highlighter, black mascara, and full coverage concealer are essentials in my
cosmetic collection which I have bought impulsively. Overall, I am proud to say that I am an
impulsive buyer rather than a person who despises shopping: a Hater. A Hater is someone who
would want to have nothing to do with the art of shopping. Shopping, to them, is a complete and
utter waste of time. These people usually complain a lot before, during, and even after the
shopping trip. They would rather do anything else besides shopping and will do anything to
avoid it. For example, The Hater might ask a friend or family member to pick up something they
need or will try to find a substitute from what they already have to try to get the task done. In

Taking a Look at Garden Cities
Garden cities, whether the appropriate concept in sustainable urban planning?
Introduction
It is widely acknowledged that Ebenezer Howard s Garden City stimulated many significant urban
design achievements in worldwide. Whether the theory is still suitable for sustainable urban
planning in twenty one century has been widely discussed. Some approvers argue that Howard
provided the idea of self sufficiency and limited growths still remain. However, the theory has been
denounced because it is too idealistic, difficult to implement. Therefore, this paper will first review
the original concept of Garden city, then examine legacy of the Garden Cities whether they have
proved to be successful, sustainable places. The paper is divided into three parts. In the first
section, the concept of Garden city will be first explained. In the second part, the discussion of
Garden city concept will be presented. Then, case study on modern garden city will be described at
last. The study shows, the ideas of Garden City have been widely misinterpreted, leading potential
risks on environment. In addition, to some extent, the morphological model of Garden city is not
appropriate any more due to vehicles dependency and new communication modes changed the
planning concept.
The concept of Garden City
In Garden Cities of To morrow, Howard (1902) provided a detailed discussion for new social and
city reform. The overall goal for Howard is to combine the traditional countryside with the

The Power Of A Nuclear Reactor
There are many ways to create power. Many of the modern power production systems are very
costly to run. Some create power in ways that pollute the earth, and others use renewable
resources. With new and upcoming ways to create power, prices for power are dropping. Nuclear
Energy is a rising way to create large amounts of efficient power.
A long process goes into creating Nuclear energy. Uranium is the product, found in most rocks, that
powers the nuclear reactors. The uranium then goes through a process known as nuclear fission. As
uranium breaks down or decays, it produces heat inside the earth s crust. A similar process
generates heat inside a nuclear reactor (Emirates, par. 5). The uranium then goes through a
process called nuclear fission. Nuclear fission is the process of splitting a nucleus in two. Inside
the uranium fuel pellets, there are millions of uranium nuclei (Emirates, par.6). Many people
believe that uranium is the only way power is made in a nuclear reactor. But there are many forms
of power that come out of nuclear fission. The nuclear fusion then heats water to a boiling point to
create steam. The steam in turn, spins large turbine blades that drive electrical generators (Nuclear,
par. 11). During that whole process, multiple ways of creating power are output. A great output
would be the production of hydrogen. Hydrogen is a good source of power for various reasons.
Although hydrogen is abundant in the universe, it must be produced from

The Electric Ant By Philip K. Dick
What Am I ?
The Electric Ant is a science fiction short story written by Philip K. Dick and published in 1969. In
this setting, the story takes place in a distant alternative universe. Mankind s identity and freedom
are being questioned in this futuristic society. Indeed, the plot explores the identity of a protagonist
who has been disconnected from reality after an accident, by being transformed into an organic
robot. A being that is no longer humandespite having the skin, the flesh and the physical body of a
man. The story focuses on the shift of reality perceived by an organic robot. It brings us a closer
look at how the perspective of reality is approached from the point of view of a sub social class. As

In other words, Poole fell from the top of the hierarchy as a successful man to the bottom as an
organic robot. He now belongs underneath the status of human and he needs to find a purpose
in life. Even he mentioned the fact that he no longer belongs to the human race as mentioned: A
slave, Poole said. A mechanical slave. [...] I ve lived a good live, Poole said. I ve worked hard.
This simply shows how the main protagonist lost all interest of returning to how things used to
be. He accepts what is currently expected of him. Poole is positioned into an artificial body that
can be replaced at any time. He has lost his individuality and freedom. As the story goes on, it
follows the complex development of the protagonist. Another form of displacement of identity is
formed when Poole realizes his whole existence is dictated by a simple gadget installed in his
body. He is not free in the world he is living in as demonstrated in the story.
In me somewhere, he thought, there is a matrix fitted in place, a grid screen that cuts me off from
certain thoughts. Certain actions. And forces me into others. I am not free. I never was, but now I
know it; that makes it different.

It represents mankind s obedience towards the powerful people in society residing at the top of the

The Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes
Dream Deferred, is a poem written by Langston Hughes discussing what may become of a dream
that is put off, delayed, or postponed by external influences. Throughout the poem, Hughes uses
questions about concrete things in everyday life and compares them to the ignored dreams.
Langston Hughes isn t referring to the dreams we have when we go to sleep at night, he s
referring to an aspiration or a desire. Does it dry up Like a raisin in the sun? (Hughes 970) The
vision of his dream is vanishing like a plump, juicy grape would in the sun. The grape dries and
shrivels up to become a raisin, just like his dream has done. The life of the dreamer is steadily
fading and they lose their vitality because of the long delayed dream. A dream that has been put
off for so long almost becomes unrecognizable to oneself. Or fester like a sore And then run?
(Hughes 970) Although Hughes asks rhetorical questions throughout his poem, there is a meaning
behind every line. Fester means to become worse or more intense, especially through long term
neglect or indifference. When your dream keeps being ignored, you grow some type of resentment
and it worsens. This sore will not heal, but it will continue to become more intense and run. Does it
stink like rotten meat? (Hughes 970) As a result of the hindrance, the dream now rots. Eventually
the wound that didn t heal will smell like rotten meat. The stink may imply how Hughes is feeling,
knowing that the dream has been deferred for

The Importance Of Toxic Leadership
The Corps of the Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) has been around since the formation of the
Continental Army in 1775. The basic responsibility of the NCO was to fill gaps in the lines and
keep soldiers quiet on mission while leading (Perkioniemi, 2009). Currently, the responsibilities of
the NCO focus on soldier welfare and accomplishing the mission (NCO Creed). Toxic leadershipis a
serious concern for the military, and it is undermining the reputation of the NCO Corps. What is
toxic leadership, how can it be addressed, and what will happen to the Corps if it is allowed to
continue?
Toxic leadership as defined by Wilson (2014) is a combination of self centered attitudes,
motivations, and behaviors that have adverse effects on subordinates, the organization, and
mission performance . NCOs, just as civilians, range from poor leaders to excellent leaders; but
when does poor leadership become toxic leadership and what causes this toxic leadership? Not
every soldier is born to lead. Some soldiers are bad decision makers, poor time managers, or just
unable to inspire confidence in their fellow soldiers. There is nothing wrong with being a
follower if you are a competent individual who can perform the given tasks. A NCO who cannot
step up and lead is not a toxic leader, they are a bad leader. With education and training NCOs with
poor leaderships skills develop into competent leaders.
Toxic leadership is a result of narcissistic leaders, individuals who have an

Persuasive Essay On How To End Your Relationship
Why is it so hard to breakup with someone without seeming like a jerk or even an ass? It s not
that you don t love them, it s not that you re bored with them, but the simple fact that you have
outgrown the person you thought you might spend the rest of your life with. When two people go
their separate ways and choose to breakup, the person who ends it, is fed up the most, but at what
cost? Almost everyone you know that has been in a long relationship and has broken up, has been
conflicted on how to end it. If you follow the five steps MCPSR, meditate, conversate, plan the
date, separate, and reevaluate you will be single without worry.
The first thing you do not want to do is jump to conclusions, and end the relationship without
thought. Because if you end the relationship this way, you will regret it later. You will feel guilty
about the way you handled the situation, and from perspective of the significant other, you, my
friend are going to be resented for forever and a day. The first approach is to meditate, or take
some me time. Me time is what one likes to call time that no is around to bother you and make
you wish you were on death road laying in your casket with your phone in your hand about to
make your last life changing tweet before taking your last breath. When taking your me time,
you need to think about all of the good and all of the bad in your relationship. If you can t pin it
on the first try, attempt to write it down. Make two columns, on one side write good and on the
other write bad. When doing this you are listing all of the good things and all of the bad things in
your relationship, this helps you way your options on whether to end it or attempt to save it. If the
good out ways the bad, then that is when you should consider saving it, but if the bad out ways the
good... you should consider dropping them like a hot tamale on a late Saturday night at 3:00 in the
morning watching cartoons trying to shove it in your mouth after 3.2 seconds out of the microwave.
Your second step is simple, conversate . Talk to someone that has been in your situation. Why?
Glad you asked, you do this because the person who has been in your situation knows the do s and
the don ts to ending a

Martha Stewart White Collar Crime Analysis
Of all the forms of deviant criminal behavior, we are challenged to find actions more insidious and
deceitful than white collar crime. White collar crime is usually multilayered and extremely
complex making it difficult to clearly identify the actual crime. Typically, white collar crime
branches into either individual or corporate crime. Nonetheless, both groups of perpetrators have
several factors in common. It is these factors that put white collar criminals in a class all their
own. I wasn t sure what I would find by way of deviance in the case of the queen of all things
home and more, Martha Stewart, but I thought I would look anyway. White collar criminals are

The fact that the insider trading charges were thrown out, but the conspiracy charges stuck is
curious. It appears, yet again, the judicial process and mainstream social construct of acceptable
behavior collided with what Martha, her broker, and fellow investor touted as nothing wrong .
Knowing more of John Savarrese s role as Martha s pretrial counsel, gives two more important
points about Martha s case of white collar crime. The first is questionable ethics and the other is
arrogance. Mr. Savarrese has been criticized by legal analysts for not providing ethical legal
advice to Martha or making the right professional choices himself. The belief is that Savarrese
knew or at least suspected, Martha and Bacanovic planned to perjure themselves. As Martha s
legal counselor it was ethically negligent of Savarrese not to advise Martha of the legal
repercussions of lying to the SEC. If Martha insisted on presenting her fraudulent story, Savarrese
should have immediately withdrawn as her counsel (Hoffman, 2007). More importantly than if
Savarrese knew or not, in her arrogance, Martha never thought this issue of a mere $45, 637
would develop into charges nor a prison sentence! She was simply above the laws and saw no

Disadvantages Of A Semi Structured Interview
Section 1: Methodological Considerations Question 1 One advantage of a semi structured interview
is that in the case of participants who tend to answer questions briefly, the interviewer can ask more
open ended questions and cater the structure of the interview for the participant. The interviewer
has a choice of which order to ask the questions in and how to ask them. For instance, in the
transcript for the interview, the interviewer is being provided with one sentence yes/no replies in
the beginning. Then, a few questions later, the interviewer asks a more detailed question that asks
the participant how they manage their diabetes and who helps them. This prompts a more detailed
response from the participant, who has now been asked to speak more freely about their experience
with diabetes. Furthermore, for semi structured interviews, the interviewers can follow what the
participants are saying and modify their questions accordingly. The interviewer can be prompted by
something the participant has said, and explore that prompt further in their proceeding questions.
For example, when the respondent states that they do their own finger prick blood test, the
interviewer then explores that deeper by asking follow up questions such as what equipment the
participant uses and the difference in their own materials versus the hospital s. Furthermore, in a
semi structured interview, the participant might bring up interesting points the interviewer had not
come across in their

Car Seat Safety

safety. Even so, it s always best to keep up with the most current info as some things will change
as we learn more. Though changes may occur, there are some things that always remain constant
with car seat safety. Choose car seats according to age and size An infant cannot ride safely in a
booster seat. Likewise, a larger child should not be riding in a rear facing infant seat. Read the
manufacturer labels and follow the advice of your child s pediatrician to determine the proper car
seat. It is generally more accurate to fit a child s car seat according to weight and height than by
age. One child may move into a booster seat at a younger age than... Show more content on

In this method, as soon as the raw bricks are cut to size, they are stacked on flatcars, slowly passed
through long, heated tunnels and after from 8 to 72 hours (depending on the type of brick) they are
dry. Now they are moved slowly through a long fire brick tunnel, where they are heated and
cooled in from 36 hours to four days, also depending on the type of brick. One of Portugal s
largest brick factories, located outside Lisbon, has a modern continuous car tunnel oven 180 m
(590 feet) long! When bricks were manufactured manually, their form and dimensions varied
widely from region to region, adapting themselves to the local necessities. However, even the
Assyrians recognized the need to standardize the dimensions of the most widely used bricks of
their time. In Portugal, the National Civil Engineering Laboratory made an inquiry of the principal
factories as to the forms and dimensions of bricks produced. The 44 factories that answered the
inquiry produced 330 different models! This great diversity caused many inconveniences, for
manufacturer and consumer alike. As bricks occupy a very important role in construction here in
Portugal, standardization would be very beneficial, not only as to quality, but also as to dimensions
and materials. With the results of this inquiry at hand, it was now necessary to determine how to
limit the existing types. Ninety nine different factories and 36 of the larger

Research Paper On Ecstasy
Leah Betts was an 18 year old student who died from the use of ecstasy. On her 18th birthday she
took an ecstasy tablet it was believed that she then consumed 7litres of water to contract the
effects of the drug. Ultimately Leah died from water intoxication she d consumed so much after
taking ecstasy that it stopped her brain from working properly and caused it to swell leading to
her death. Heart rate, breathing, body fluids and temperature are all regulated without using
having to think about it, the is known as homeostasis. When you take ecstasy (chemically
known as MDMA) homeostasis is pushed too far causing it to start to break down. Homeostasis
usually regulates body temperature to around 37 39 degrees celsius. In order to maintain these
temperatures we cool ourselves down through evaporation of sweat produced from sweat glands
in the skin. However there is a limit to how fast our body can cool down, when you take ecstasy
you body ignores the warning signals it is being sent. Leah however, was not dancing around or
exerting a lot of energy for her to sweat or become hot therefore, it was clear that she did not die
from overheating. Ecstasy also affects the water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vasopressin is one of the hormones released by the pituitary gland, it is an anti diuretic hormone
which regulates blood pressure and water retention. When sodium levels get too high, your
body feels dehydrated. Vasopressin is then released to allow for more water to pass through your
kidneys. On the other hand, when your sodium levels are too low, vasopressin is no longer
released and your kidneys absorb less water. When you use ecstasy, vasopressin is released
because you have taken the drug and not because your body is dehydrated. Therefore the ADH
hormone is produced in excess so your body retains more water than normal. This is because the
hypothalamus is sending signals to the kidneys to stop urine production as your body thinks that it is

Woman In The Odyssey
In the beginning there was darkness, and then magically God came to bring light. This light he
brought on Earth would be day, when the light disappears it will be called night. Genesis is a
crucial part of the bible because through this people could understand how the world was created.
Not only does it answer how the world was created, but also it answer the question of how man and
womanwere created as well. When Godcreated humans he wanted us to stay pure. This did not
happen because a snake manipulated Eve to eat the fruit off the tree she was forbidden from.
Although she knew it was wrong Eve ate the fruit hoping it would make her wise. This story
depicts woman as being curious beings, which most people might view as her being foolish.
Proverbs is somewhat different since it is more of a list a woman should fulfill; these tasks
however are not to be belittled. A woman does a lot more than what society thinks. They are wise

For Genesis most people would characterize Eve as being foolish for listening to a snake,
however, I see it as being curious. The snake is described as being more subtil than any beast of
the field (Genesis 1.1). She cannot be blamed for being a fool since the snake was clearly more
cleaver than she was. Adam however committed the same crime as Eve, but he was convinced
by his equal to do so. When God created man and woman he made them clueless, they were
unaware of good and evil. Eve saw the opportunity the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
had to offer her. The tree would make her wise and although God said they would die from eating
the fruit they did not. By acting independently Eve was able to open her eyes to the truth of her
surroundings. In Proverb they describe everything a woman does more than just bare children. They

Calvin Wright (eProduct manager) helped implement the eStore application, which was geared to service this Agricultural Segment market. The Agricultural Segment was considered by Shell to be high costs since local sales representatives were used in order to sell the product. By introducing a cost saving application, eStore, users would be able to place their orders directly online. IT developed an application that was to be used by the Agricultural Segment, however the eStore design was not created nor considered by the customer user friendly (complex security password design). Such complex features are more likely to be seen in Intranets. Since this application is supposed to act as an eStore more security should have been implemented for the invoicing portion, and less when browsing for a product. What differences are evidenced in this case between the development and deployment of customer facing applications versus employee facing applications? How did the type of application affect the use of eStore? When developing the eStore, Shell did not seem to adhere too much to the customers needs, but rather servicing the needs of the company (developed a cost effective system). In the consultant report it is identified that customers had trouble differentiating which login application they should choose since they presumed to be presented with two options. The customer had the perception that by using the left side of the screen they would use an insecure login (Rainer, 2008, pg. 176). The IT development of eStore was approached as being used by someone that had some application knowledge and training prior to navigating the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are three phases of love, which include the following; lust, attraction and attachment. Lust is a phase driven by hormones where we end up in an experience of pure desire. Attraction is a phase where you are overcome in new feelings. Attachment is a phase where you grow bonds and feel connected. As stated by Science Daily, Blood flows to the pleasure center of the brain during the attraction phase, when we feel an overwhelming attraction towards our partner. This behavior fades during the attachment phase, when the body develops a tolerance to the pleasure stimulants, and in other words, becoming accustomed to your partner. Endorphins and hormones vasopressin and oxytocin also submerge the body at this point, creating an overall sense of felicity and security that are necessities to a lasting relationship . Personal Narrative-AP Teacher Mrs. Alves I find myself in a perpetual whirlwind of phases so the only concrete things I have to bandage together some sort of identity are the things my therapist has noticed about my speech patterns and thought process. I love to (over) analyze, (over) think, and (under) achieve. It s possible the reason I have phases with music, film, and taste in clothing or art has come with the realization that there s so much stuff, and I don t want to miss out on anything. I grew up reading fantasy and watching films like Labyrinth, which I credit to the beginning of my interest in literature and film. Last year I had a mild obsession with haikus, especially that of Kobayashi Issa, and watched cheesy 90s sci fi. As of late I ve been on a biography and documentary... I love to be hunched over a piece I m working on for hours at a time, I ve accidentally drunk paint water, and I will defend modern art and its validity in my last dying breath. I have a hard time distinguishing between being pretentious and being passionate, and spent a very long time qualifying everything I would say about art with I know this sounds pretentious but... Since then I have decided that my ego isn t big enough to be pretentious...or is that a pretentious thought. I overuse words like pretentious to the point where they begin to lose meaning, like when you say your name over and over again and it becomes a mulling sound with no body or purpose. However it wasn t over yet, seventy men who were a part of the Fifth Regiment New York Cavalry, that was posted in the rear came to the rescue. Under the command of Major Hammond, the men came upon the rebels from behind just as they had did the First Virginia Cavalry in their sneak attack. Shortly after, a running fight ensued between both sides. The fight continued for about five to seven miles down the side of the railroad. So, the men followed the rebels in every direction possible, killing and wounding a substantial amount of soldiers. Mosby being one of the wounded, was reported shot in the shoulder, resulting in the compromise of his force with the exception of twenty. However the end didn t come until the fight made its way toward Warrenton all the prisoners taken by Mosby were recaptured, with the exception of two. Not only that but Major General Stahel believes if their horses had been in better condition, and not tired out by the service of the last few days, Mosby, nor a single one of his men, would ve escaped. But despite the horses being tired out, and them being outnumbered the First Virginia and Fifth Regiment New York managed to come out with a crazy victory. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Huber (2006, p154) states that clinical decision making in nursing relates to the quality of care the patient receives and how competent the nurse is. Over the past 30 years nursing has evolved from a task oriented to a logical and systematic approach to care, using theories and models to guide practice. According to Jasper (2007, p117) theories of decision making in medicine tend to favour logical, precise analytical models which are held to be testable, unambiguous and repeatable, therefore satisfying scientific principles. These represent important ideas of certainty and rationality that are intended to provide a sense of security and reliability. When used correctly a nursing model should give direction to nurses working in a particular area, as it should help them understand more fully the logic behind their actions. It should also act as a guide in decision making and so reduce conflict within the team of nurses as a whole. This in turn should lead to continuity and consistency of the nursing care received by patients according to Pearson et al (1999,p ). Banning (2008, p ) states knowledge for decision making is obtained from many sources and has been described as both informative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Summary Of Survival In Auschwitz By Primo Levi Title One of the natural instincts of intelligent beings is in the case of fear to fight, or to run away; however, in some cases like in the concentration camps in Germany during World War II it is hard to do either of those two natural responses. This issue, with not being able to enact on this natural instinct because of the restriction of being closely controlled, is related to Primo Levi in his autobiography Survival in Auschwitz he was a captured Italian Jew who was able to survive Auschwitz because of how he internally thought with himself to stay alive. The Holocaust is one of the most researched events during World War II; and Levi is one of the, relatively, few who survived, and went on to be able to tell his story. In Survival in Auschwitz Levi detailed the horrible conditions the soldiers lived and worked in as well as the malnutrition he experienced. Levi also detailed his struggle to stay human which, along with climbing up the social ranks, helped him survive; As a result of these struggles Levi seems to believe there is at least a slight lesson to learn from his survival. During World War II, if a person was labeled as a Jew, whether they were actively practicing or not, and was captured then sent to a concentration camp life was absolutely brutal. Unless you were in Ka Be, the concentration camp version of an infirmary, there were hardly any sanitary places. In 1521 Francisco Gordillo, of Spain, sailed to the Carolina coast, he did not try to settle the area, but he did attempt to enslave the natives and send them to the Caribbeans. To have settled the area, would mean to have built a lasting community that can live on it s own. Soon after, Lucas Vasquez de AyllГ іn brought 600 settlers to try and colonize the area. Companies face a multitude of challenges when it comes to Supply Chain management ranging from profitability and cost management to visibility and customer satisfaction. With the increased awareness of environmental practices, there is an expectation that businesses should evolve to be more environmentally conscious. As stated from a 1987 Brundtland Report known as Our Common Future , (WCED, 1987) sustainable development is one that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The influence of environmental performance is a growing decision criteria for customers in the consumption of products/services. This is evident from a survey conducted by the Natural Marketing Institute (Kaiser, 2008) which reveals that 30 percent of American consumers are willing to pay 20 percent more for products made in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. A growing number of companies are working towards incorporating environmental and socially responsible business practices to their value chains, from suppliers to customers. How Did The Medici Family Influence The Renaissance THE MEDICI FAMILY S INFLUENCE The Medici family were the most powerful citizens of Florence, leaders of the largest bank in Europe, and through strategic marriage alliances, joined many of Europe s royal families. They controlled Florence throughout much of the Renaissance, played a large part in the patronage of the arts and the political development of the city. They faced many challenges, had both positive and negative effects and they tried to have solutions to most of their problems which some did not work. This is an example of the Common Themes Theory. The Medici family had an economic problem of safety. The Pazzi conspiracy threatened the safety of the Medici family. Although it was a maxim of Medici policy to retain close ties with the Holy See, relations between Lorenzo and Pope Sixtus were not always cordial. The Pontiff was very displeased when Lorenzo s diplomacy achieved an alliance between Florence, Venice, and Milan, for such a combination was more than a match for the armies of the Church. Its importance to America and Mexico cannot be underestimated, especially in its role in legislation, law enforcement techniques, and public opinion. Over the next two decades, the US carried out swift and largely effective operations to stop the flow of cocaine from Columbia through the Caribbean (Vance, 2011). The Columbians, frustrated by the DEA s efforts there, sought a new pathway to the lucrative American public and they turned to Mexico. In contrast with acquired prosopagnosia, it occurs in the absence of brain damage. The insufficiency in face recognition of people with DP can lead to chronic anxiety and stress, despite the presence of normal intelligence and vision. Ocular scanning patterns can provide valuable information on the nature of the facial recognition deficits in DP. Visual scanpath can differ depending on stimuli and the goal oriented subject. One of the most accepted theories on face processing involves holistic face perception in which faces are recognized as a conceptual whole, by integration of spatial relations among facial components and featural information into one representation. Furthermore, what basis, if any, is there for expecting AtlanticRoyal s combined linerboard and box mill operations to do better/worse than the industry overall? Through the discovery of these traits, many people can overcome conflict and create workable solutions to difficult problems, or even make appropriate compromises. A monumental example of this was Rosa Parks the mother of the freedom movement , an African American activist in the time of the black and white segregation, refused to give up her seat in the coloured section of the bus to a white passenger, after the white section was filled. Summary Of The Episode Remains To Be Seen Goffman (1963) refers to stigma as being a disorder that an individual carries, it is a mark of shame in which something unusual or bad about the person is exposed. When people express an impression to the manner they want to present their self, they play a virtual identity to avoid exposing their actual identity because it might be stigmatized. Goffman (1963) also mentions when people are stigmatized they worry about how others see them, which is the similar to how we feel when performing a certain role to keep what we consider normal people from finding out the truth about our shame a characteristic of what we think is abnormal/weird to other people. Glacalone Rosenfeld (1989) compare social situations to interviews, an approach where an individual selects the perception and behavior to reflect their good qualities to the person they are performing for. Despite trying to give a reasonable impersonation of one self, people run the risk of being discreditable, which is a stigma that is not readily perceivable to others. To help rid people of this inaccurate view of who God is, it is vital to walk through the salvation story with them. Some create power in ways that pollute the earth, and others use renewable resources. With new and upcoming ways to create power, prices for power are dropping. Nuclear Energy is a rising way to create large amounts of efficient power. A long process goes into creating Nuclear energy. Uranium is the product, found in most rocks, that powers the nuclear reactors. The uranium then goes through a process known as nuclear fission. As uranium breaks down or decays, it produces heat inside the earth s crust. A similar process generates heat inside a nuclear reactor (Emirates, par. 5). • 50. Martha Stewart White Collar Crime Analysis Of all the forms of deviant criminal behavior, we are challenged to find actions more insidious and deceitful than white collar crime. White collar crime is usually multilayered and extremely complex making it difficult to clearly identify the actual crime. Typically, white collar crime branches into either individual or corporate crime. Nonetheless, both groups of perpetrators have several factors in common. It is these factors that put white collar criminals in a class all their own. I wasn t sure what I would find by way of deviance in the case of the queen of all things home and more, Martha Stewart, but I thought I would look anyway. White collar criminals are only able commit their crime(s) because of their position, occupation, and/or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that the insider trading charges were thrown out, but the conspiracy charges stuck is curious. It appears, yet again, the judicial process and mainstream social construct of acceptable behavior collided with what Martha, her broker, and fellow investor touted as nothing wrong . Knowing more of John Savarrese s role as Martha s pretrial counsel, gives two more important points about Martha s case of white collar crime. The first is questionable ethics and the other is arrogance. Mr. Savarrese has been criticized by legal analysts for not providing ethical legal advice to Martha or making the right professional choices himself. The belief is that Savarrese knew or at least suspected, Martha and Bacanovic planned to perjure themselves. As Martha s legal counselor it was ethically negligent of Savarrese not to advise Martha of the legal repercussions of lying to the SEC. If Martha insisted on presenting her fraudulent story, Savarrese should have immediately withdrawn as her counsel (Hoffman, 2007). More importantly than if Savarrese knew or not, in her arrogance, Martha never thought this issue of a mere $45, 637 would develop into charges nor a prison sentence! She was simply above the laws and saw no reason to tell the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Beals is describing the look on Thurgood Marshall when he visiting the Little Rock nine before they went to court to testify against Governor Faubus. Beals had always heard about Thurgood Marshall on the newspaper but she never expects to meet him in real life. • 52. Disadvantages Of A Semi Structured Interview Section 1: Methodological Considerations Question 1 One advantage of a semi structured interview is that in the case of participants who tend to answer questions briefly, the interviewer can ask more open ended questions and cater the structure of the interview for the participant. The interviewer has a choice of which order to ask the questions in and how to ask them. For instance, in the transcript for the interview, the interviewer is being provided with one sentence yes/no replies in the beginning. Then, a few questions later, the interviewer asks a more detailed question that asks the participant how they manage their diabetes and who helps them. This prompts a more detailed response from the participant, who has now been asked to speak more freely about their experience with diabetes. Furthermore, for semi structured interviews, the interviewers can follow what the participants are saying and modify their questions accordingly. The interviewer can be prompted by something the participant has said, and explore that prompt further in their proceeding questions. For example, when the respondent states that they do their own finger prick blood test, the interviewer then explores that deeper by asking follow up questions such as what equipment the participant uses and the difference in their own materials versus the hospital s. Furthermore, in a semi structured interview, the participant might bring up interesting points the interviewer had not come across in their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Car Seat Safety As a mother to multiple children and a former nanny, I have plenty of experience in car seat safety. Even so, it s always best to keep up with the most current info as some things will change as we learn more. Though changes may occur, there are some things that always remain constant with car seat safety. Choose car seats according to age and size An infant cannot ride safely in a booster seat. Likewise, a larger child should not be riding in a rear facing infant seat. Read the manufacturer labels and follow the advice of your child s pediatrician to determine the proper car seat. It is generally more accurate to fit a child s car seat according to weight and height than by age. One child may move into a booster seat at a younger age than... In this method, as soon as the raw bricks are cut to size, they are stacked on flatcars, slowly passed through long, heated tunnels and after from 8 to 72 hours (depending on the type of brick) they are dry. Now they are moved slowly through a long fire brick tunnel, where they are heated and cooled in from 36 hours to four days, also depending on the type of brick. One of Portugal s largest brick factories, located outside Lisbon, has a modern continuous car tunnel oven 180 m (590 feet) long! When bricks were manufactured manually, their form and dimensions varied widely from region to region, adapting themselves to the local necessities. However, even the Assyrians recognized the need to standardize the dimensions of the most widely used bricks of their time. In Portugal, the National Civil Engineering Laboratory made an inquiry of the principal factories as to the forms and dimensions of bricks produced. The 44 factories that answered the inquiry produced 330 different models! This great diversity caused many inconveniences, for manufacturer and consumer alike. As bricks occupy a very important role in construction here in Portugal, standardization would be very beneficial, not only as to quality, but also as to dimensions and materials. With the results of this inquiry at hand, it was now necessary to determine how to limit the existing types. Ninety nine different factories and 36 of the larger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Research Paper On Ecstasy Leah Betts was an 18 year old student who died from the use of ecstasy. On her 18th birthday she took an ecstasy tablet it was believed that she then consumed 7litres of water to contract the effects of the drug. Ultimately Leah died from water intoxication she d consumed so much after taking ecstasy that it stopped her brain from working properly and caused it to swell leading to her death. Heart rate, breathing, body fluids and temperature are all regulated without using having to think about it, the is known as homeostasis. When you take ecstasy (chemically known as MDMA) homeostasis is pushed too far causing it to start to break down. Homeostasis usually regulates body temperature to around 37 39 degrees celsius. In order to maintain these temperatures we cool ourselves down through evaporation of sweat produced from sweat glands in the skin. However there is a limit to how fast our body can cool down, when you take ecstasy you body ignores the warning signals it is being sent. Leah however, was not dancing around or exerting a lot of energy for her to sweat or become hot therefore, it was clear that she did not die from overheating. Ecstasy also affects the water... When sodium levels get too high, your body feels dehydrated. Vasopressin is then released to allow for more water to pass through your kidneys. On the other hand, when your sodium levels are too low, vasopressin is no longer released and your kidneys absorb less water. When you use ecstasy, vasopressin is released because you have taken the drug and not because your body is dehydrated. Therefore the ADH hormone is produced in excess so your body retains more water than normal. This is because the hypothalamus is sending signals to the kidneys to stop urine production as your body thinks that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Woman In The Odyssey In the beginning there was darkness, and then magically God came to bring light. This light he brought on Earth would be day, when the light disappears it will be called night. Genesis is a crucial part of the bible because through this people could understand how the world was created. Not only does it answer how the world was created, but also it answer the question of how man and womanwere created as well. When Godcreated humans he wanted us to stay pure. This did not happen because a snake manipulated Eve to eat the fruit off the tree she was forbidden from. Although she knew it was wrong Eve ate the fruit hoping it would make her wise. This story depicts woman as being curious beings, which most people might view as her being foolish. Proverbs is somewhat different since it is more of a list a woman should fulfill; these tasks however are not to be belittled. A woman does a lot more than what society thinks. They are wise creatures capable of a lot more than they are given credit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Genesis most people would characterize Eve as being foolish for listening to a snake, however, I see it as being curious. The snake is described as being more subtil than any beast of the field (Genesis 1.1). She cannot be blamed for being a fool since the snake was clearly more cleaver than she was. Adam however committed the same crime as Eve, but he was convinced by his equal to do so. When God created man and woman he made them clueless, they were unaware of good and evil. Eve saw the opportunity the tree of the knowledge of good and evil had to offer her. The tree would make her wise and although God said they would die from eating the fruit they did not. By acting independently Eve was able to open her eyes to the truth of her surroundings. In Proverb they describe everything a woman does more than just bare children. They are smart individuals who have the ability to achieve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
