The Medical Field Is Always Advancing. Research Is Providing
The medical field is always advancing. Research is providing new means of improvement and brand
new technology. The technology is then used to help patients recover and prevent diseases. Research
and Development teams spend their entire careers testing and building new innovations to help the
field progress. Luckily, a new modern technology has been developed. What is this technology? The
3D printer. 3D printers are surprisingly older than people think. They first started in the late 1980 s
and have rapidly progressed. Now the 3D printer has various applications in many fields such as
business, technology, medical field, etc.
Many social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook; and news sources have stated that 3D printing

The study found that the students that used the 3D printed model had a richer learning experience. The
technology allows the medical students to better learn the different physical structures and organs. It
also always them to practice different medical procedures and operations. Indeed, the technology will
help effectively train more capable doctors.
Another application is the ability to print models of patient s organs and specifically plan the surgery.
For instance, surgeons used an MRI to scan a patient s brain and print an exact replica. A surgery was
needed to remove a tumor. The surgeons could see the depth of the tumor and specific details. This
technology allows them to plan and practice the surgical procedures for each patient s case. (see image
above) The 3D printing technology has improved how doctors can plan and practice to be able to
perform precise procedures.
Also, the 3D printing technology provides medical schools with a less expensive alternative to using
cadavers. Cadaver are difficult to acquire, store, and need to be disposed of at certain times. High
quality 3D printers are a little pricy, but are more cost effective. This is due to the availability of
digital files of different models of organs online. With the rising demand of 3D printers, the price is
going down and becoming even more affordable for medical schools. This is another way medical
field is adapting to the 3D

Feminism In Sheryl Sandberg
There s just as many different kinds of feminism as there are women in the world. Kathleen Hanna
Read more at: Kathleen Hanna. Feminism is not a new idea but it is a growing one and people have
different views on it, but most feminist can agree on is that women need to move up in the workplace
and Bell Hook s the author of Dig Deep: Beyond Lean In and Sheryl Sandberg the author of Lean in:
What Would You Do If You Weren t Afraid? both explore. Even though it might appear that Bell Hook
s and Sheryl Sandberg agree that women should be more proactive in their workplace, on a closer
look, they actually disagree about the type of people who should be taking the advice, seen through
Bell Hook s criticism of Sheryl Sandberg. Bell Hook s criticism of Sheryl Sandberg is seen through
her analysis of Sheryl s social status and wealth. Bell Hook s analysis of Sheryl Sandberg s wealth and
social status gives the reader a better understanding of how Sandberg effectively uses her race and
class power and privilege to promote a narrow definition of feminism that obscures and undermines
visionary feminist concerns (662). If you didn t know Sheryl Sandberg is worth about 1.6 billion
dollars and has one of the highest positions in the most popular social media website in the world. You

Theme Of The White Man s Burden
Le Khuc Hoang Uyen 1AH
The White Man s burden by Rudyard Kipling is a poem that, at face value, looks like a rhetorical
command for white men to take up the grave responsibility of colonizing other nations for their own
benefits. The poem thus does display certain social characteristics of the period, illustrated through
some of its major themes like colonialism, racism and religion.
Colonialism is the most overarching theme of the poem, especially when the poem focuses on white
men s burden of colonizing and civilizing other nations. Strong sentiments about the need for
colonialism is seen in the prevailing repetition of Take up the White Man s burden at the beginning of
every stanzas, which serves like a persistent urge that keeps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The view of colonization as a philanthropist act reflects the Social Gospel idea of philanthropy, which
states that the more privileged, the wealthier has an obligation to assist the impoverished and the sick.
This is seen in the religious reference of Our loved Egyptian night , which reminds us of the journey
of Moses leading the Israelites out of slavery. The comparison between Moses journey and that of the
white men to the native land suggests that Kipling views colonization as a holy act where the white
men lead the native people out of the darkness of slavery, poverty, torture and ignorance. It therefore
displays a more religious view of colonialism and thus does represent the way society was encouraged
to perceive the act of colonization at that time.
In conclusion, The White Man s burden displays a rather enthusiastic support for colonization. It,
however, at the same time indirectly illustrates the flaws in societal mindset and their way of
perceiving the idea of colonization that feature characteristics of a rather aggressive and racist

Qualitative Data Evaluation
To analyze the results of evaluation, the evaluators will undertake a robust analysis to identify whether
or not there are any differences in patient characteristics and treatments provided by the six Victorian
hospitals to Aboriginal people and non Aboriginal people. The qualitative data will be transcribed and
analyzed by using NVivo software based on the evaluation frameworks. Whereas the quantitative data
would be assessed by using SPSS in order to measure the impacts of the policy directions, funding,
workforce competencies and performance to facilitate the change in service delivery. To strengthen the
validity of findings, we also conduct triangulation that will help to compare the qualitative data based
on the opinion of key stakeholders and quantitative data from any sources. After completing data
analysis, we will conduct a consultation with key stakeholders to discuss the preliminary findings, to
establish any conclusions, and then to identify a possible improvement for strengthening the evidence.
To eliminate the possible bias in justifying a conclusion, we will conduct some reflection by involving
Aboriginal people.

Case Study Of Firestone

1. What appears to have caused delays by Firestone in recognizing and responding to the problem with
the tires?
The delays appears have caused by combination of several factors. Those are :
a) Through client data return was gathered for each model of tire by the line of which it might have
been produced, and should have permitted the company to recognize the problem quickly, the
company s data system did not produce the required information rapidly.
b) Data from engineering was not exchanged with the marketing group, delaying identification of the
issue.

Analysis Of Breath, A Blow A Kiss And Sand By Tim Winton
Many of Tim Winton s fictional texts mirror moments in his own life, and with an understanding of
Winton s personal context, we can begin to discover the importance of these events and an
understanding into why many of his text orbit around similar ideas. Through the insight given in his
landscape memoirs, Lands Edge and Island Home, a more considered reading of his fictional texts;
Breath, A Blow, A Kiss and Sand can be found. Specifically, these texts explore the role that landscape
and place have had in shaping his perspectives and distaste of the expectations of Australian males.
These texts each explore certain aspects of the expectations that men all over Australia are subjected
to that Winton strongly opposes. Winton grew up in the 1960 s middle class suburb of Karrinyup, WA,
his working class Christian family s beliefs and values, and events in his early life have evolved to
form many of his present day values towards landscape and masculinity.
Through his relationship with the land, Tim Winton was able to come to terms with the expectations of
West Australian Masculinity, and define his own version. Surfing and free driving was first introduced
to Winton in his teenage years after moving to the coastal town of Albany. Before this, surfing had
been a very female dominated sport, in an interview with ABC news Winton describes, how strange it
was to see men doing something so beautiful, something so pointless, so elegant. With little to keep

Relationship Between A Parent And Child Relationship
Throughout history human behavior has held a continuing fascination for artists of all kinds. The way
in which human beings relate to one another has been a source of inspiration to painters, sculptors,
authors, composers, playwrights, filmmakers and photographers alike.
Relationships between people vary from the everyday dynamics and the significance in which they
value one another and each connection between those relationships makes a different impact on the
one of someone else. There are many relationships people form throughout their lives, for instance the
primary relationships at the start of their lives, between parent and child, and siblings, which start in
the home. A relationship between a parent and child has a special unspoken bond in which they share
indescribable love, never ending care and affection for each other, as the parent is the only depended
and reliable thing they have. A good parent and child relationship can teach a child how to form other
bonds with mutual respect and admiration, such as friendships further on in life. As people grow and
develop, they form secondary connections such as friendships and intimate relationships.
Friendships are predominantly built on trust, even as young children. Interaction with peers helps to
strengthen character and introduces a sense of belonging with others rather than family. Children are
naturally trusting, which means they form bonds with one another instinctively. As they get older and
gain knowledge,

The New Imperialism In The 16th Century
Imperialism
Imperialism is the total domination of the political, economical, or cultural aspects or a nation.
Imperial colonization has been occurring sense the beginning of time. An imperialistic nation would
increase its importance and power by winning an empire. Some takeovers were forced by political
rivalries. One nation might seize a territory to prevent a competitor from expanding into that region.
Some nations would expand to boost their economic value, or personal wealth. Imperialism advances
a countries politics, society, and economic value into a powerful money making country.
Imperialism could be defined as a policy of a country of gaining new territories and establishing
nation s dominance of political, economic, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people who weren t pleased with their economic and political status could migrate to new
regions to find other opportunities. Others were inspired to spread the word of Christianity and sought
a new standard of living. But most importantly, Europeans were concerned with the quest for material
goods and to grow rich (textbook pg. 878).
The new imperialism :
Imperialism has developed two very different meanings in history and in time. The imperialism of the
16th century was much less rapid and dominating than that of the new imperialism of the 19th
century. Imperialism in a sense means the extension of one nation s power over other lands.
Imperialism in the 16th century was just the colonization of North and South America and the set up
of a few trading posts in Africa. In the 19th century however, imperialism grew to mean the total
domination of one area in direct rule of the mother country.
There were two different time periods where Imperialism occurred. The first wave of imperialism,
called the Old Imperialism, lasted from around 1500 1800. The New Imperialism lasted from around
1870 1914. The three main differences that we will discuss today are the differences in economics,
politics, and the motive behind all of

Too precious and dear to let go, the South held on to this institution until the Thirteenth Amendment
was signed in by Lincoln in 1865. In this hypocritical society is where The Adventures of Huckleberry
Finn finds itself.
Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an epic story of the journey of a redneck boy
and a runaway slave, escaping the grips of society in the hope of a chance at the freedom they long for
so dearly. The novel s author, Mark Twain, also grew up in this society. Samuel Clemens, Twain s
birth name, led a life that had a great influence on the works that he produced later in his life. Born in
Florida, Missouri, Clemens childhood was filled with adventures much like those found in both The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Following his childhood
experiences, Clemens worked on steamboats on the Mississippi River up until the river was closed
during the Civil War. The war opened his eyes to the issue of slavery, which shows up in many of his
works, including Huckleberry Finn.
Huckleberry Finn takes place when slavery was very much a part of Southern culture and society,
nearly thirty years prior to the Civil War. Since the institution of slavery was such a stronghold of
Southern society during Huckleberry Finn, Huck s helping bring Jim to freedom makes him an outlaw.

Who Is Andrew Jackson Responsible For The Indian Removal Act
Andrew Jackson Debate Response
Although there have been arguments made in support for Andrew Jackson, his decision to [pass the
Indian Removal Acts were completely unhumanitarian. Andrew Jackson has to be held responsible for
the thousands of unnecessary deaths he caused, and he has to be portrayed for the man he really was: a
corrupt leader that lead America into committing mass genocide against the indigenous people of
America. This should not be looked over due to the other achievements Andrew Jackson had
completed during his life. He committed mass genocide, he was a racist who was driven to kill and
enslave other living, breathing humans, and he killed thousands of Native Americans for land that
America had no need for. He needs to be held at fault for his actions, and they simply cannot be
accounted for as humanitarian. Despite Andrew Jackson not being able to predict the outcomes and
consequences of the Indian Removal Act, there is no justifying his actions. Andrew Jackson was the
man who openly gave approval to committing mass genocide for the Native Americans, forcibly
removed thousands of Native Americans from lands they had owned for thousands of years prior, and
approved and appointed the individuals in charge of starting the trail of tears. In February 1830, the
Indian Removal Act set in place that potentially allowed the president to grant land that was west of
the Mississippi river in exchange for Native American s land within existing state borders. In theory,
this plan would allow the native to earn money if they wished to move, and in return the Americans
could acquire more land. The outcome of this, however, was a bloody massacre. Many of the Native
Americans did not want to move, since they have been living there for thousands of years, longer than
the whites have been there. Since many of them did not want to move, the Americans used force in an
attempt to push the Native Americans west in a movement that killed over 4,000 natives. There is no
justifying what Andrew Jackson did in order to gain more unnecessary land. Throughout his life,
Andrew Jackson proved time and time again that he was, indeed, an extraordinarily racist man. As a
result, his actions against the Native Americans

The Watts Riots Essay
Imagine being born in a place where people don t mix with one another and keep to their own kind.
Imagine not being able to walk into a store because it is white owned. How would it feel if you were
black, lived in a city that was run by a white government, where poverty, unemployment and lack of
education were all problems of everyday life? If everyone were treated equally, then it would not be a
problem. But for inner city African Americans that isn t the case. As humans, there is only so much we
can take when it comes to segregation before we act out. There is only so much hate a person can take
before letting it be known, once a person is pushed over that threshold there is no holding back.

The scuffle attracted
a small crowd of angry onlookers, which included Frye s mother and brother.
They were also arrested. (Auerbach 1688) That s all it took for this riot to come into play, a few people
unhappy about the way the police handled the situation. The next thing you know its a few thousand
unhappy people.
In the Watts community, at that time, there were five hundred and forty thousand African Americans.
Many of them had immigrated from the south in search of better work opportunities, as well as
freedom from injustice and inequalities (Auerbach 1687).
Once the police arrested Marquette Frye, angry Watts s residents began stoning passing cars and
setting them on fire (Bradley 895).Two days later, on the morning of August 13th, massive amounts of
people marched into the business district and started a free for all on the local stores. Firebombs and
attacks against white owned businesses followed. Then they started dragging people from their cars
and beating them. Watts had a storehouse of combustible materials located on the southeast side of
Los Angeles. A minor clash between police and black residents resulted in an explosion that ripped
through Watts (Magill 1924).

National Guard. Yorty refused the request and the riots went on. On the third the Governor of

The Global Perception of Beauty
Their faces are scattered across our billboards, their flawless figures mesmerize us at halftime of the

but magnified under the weight of social scrutiny and the self esteem of millions of women, the
significance is undeniable. The depiction of women through popular mass media outlets has a
tremendous influence upon global beauty culture, social construction and the personal self esteem of

Americanization also works to assimilate the rest of the world to perceive our standard of living
superior, but attainable. Just as foreign nations are encouraged to adopt a capitalistic approach in their
markets, foreign women are encouraged to adopt our definition of beauty. While American women
struggle to maintain a desired weight, foreign women struggle to exhibit American qualities (Derenne,
M.D., and Beresin, M.D.). Cosmo Magazine is an example of this trend exemplifying the fun, fearless
female around the world (see figure 4). Sold in 100 countries, in 34 languages, while reaching 60
million viewers; Cosmo has been described as a bible to beauty for its readers (see figure 5). Women
in India look to emulate the faces they see on the cover on Cosmo Magazine, as a result skin lightener
has emerged as one of the most produced cosmetic supplements, while struggling domestically. A vast
majority of the female population in India wishes to be two shades lighter, on average (see figure 3).
Foreign adaption and assimilation is a difficult process for American corporations to achieve,
worldwide, but a steady flow of consistent brand image and a unification of appeals allow for the
exploitation of social stigmas (Ssenyonga). Corporations confirm these stereotypes around the world,
at the expense of the individual self esteem of women; domestically and internationally. With a

Tobias Wolff s Hunters In The Snow
Hunters in the Snow by Tobias Wolff uses Kenny, Frank, Tub, and the dog to respectively symbolize
Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death, the four horsemen of the apocalypse, to emphasize how
maltreatment of others leads to loss. Before Kenny s entered their lives, Frank and Tub were close
friends. Kenny isolated the two so that they could not team up against him. He cleaves the two, by
describing Tub offensively as wasting away before urging Frank to also humiliate Tub (Wolff 88).
Kenny provokes the two to keep Frank on his own side, against Tub. This enforces Kenny s
representation of the horseman of Pestilence, or the Conqueror. Pestilence is described as the destroyer
of opposition. A reformed friendship between Frank and Tub could oppose Kenny s reign, which is
why he works to destroy it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Kenny removes resistance, Frank vanquishes peace as the horseman of War. First, Frank
destroys Tub s internal peace by criticizing Tub s weight. Frank ceaselessly pesters Tub, accusing his
fat as the reason he has not seen [his] own balls in ten years (Wolff 88). Through this offensive
approach, Tub is forced on the defensive. This maltreatment dismantles the once healthy relationship,

Joseph Smith Contribution
So far during the academic semester, Joseph Smith has possessed and displayed a tremendous amount
of energy, passion, and dedication to Phi Theta Kappa. Joseph has supported us for every event we
hold and assisted us for our chapter s College Project and Honors in Action Project, two of our most
important projects throughout the year. During our chapter s College Completion Week, Joseph
showed up almost every day to encourage students passing by to make their commitment to
completing their associate s degree. Whether he volunteered for an hour or more each day, he
demonstrated commitment and carried the purpose of our College Project successfully throughout the
week. His never failing enthusiasm seemed to rub off on the other members volunteering, ... Show

Furthermore, his attitude toward the chapter is an example to follow by all the members and officers
who look at him as a born leader who is always ready to contribute to the chapter in every event the
chapter is involved in. Although he is not an officer of the chapter, he is an active member. His
involvement with the chapter and the contributions he makes give him an important voice in every
meeting and activity he is a part of. As a member, he has the curiosity to know everything the chapter
is doing in order for him to provide his help. For example, during our College Project, Joseph
volunteered with the chapter every day he was available. Not only that, he also showed up during days
he was not expected too, appearing between passing classes and helping as much as he could during
the short periods of time he was available. As a member, he would engage students and encourage
them to finish their associate s degree. At the same time, he recruited new members for our local
chapter, explaining to them the activities Phi Theta Kappa does on campus, its scholarship
opportunities, and the leadership training members receive. Joseph s work with the chapter is reflected
in every meeting, where he motivates all the members to work as a team and pursue the same goals.
For him, the word competition means, to make the chapter do its best in every project we are a part of.
Thus, other members see him as an example to follow and a leader. As a member of the chapter,

Persuasive Essay On Cyberstalking
Cyberstalking can be a serious problem, not only in the United States but everywhere. cyberstalking
needs to be addressed seeing that cyberstalking can lead to physical stalking can lead to bodily or
mental harm. If conflicts can be spotted and stopped before they snowball into a serious issue, then the
world would be a safer place to live in. In order for prevention to occur the public, the police force,
and social media providers have to work together when cases of cyberstalking arise and then they
need to be educated on how to stop and catch the cyberstalker. It is so serious seeing that everyone can
be affected; young people, old people, women, men, rich people, and poor people.
What is cyberstalking, and how is it similar to online harassment? According to the publishers that run
privacy rights Online harassment, sometimes referred to as cyber harassment, ( cyberstalking is
considered online harassment) usually pertains to threatening or harassing emails, instant messages, or
website entries. It is often repeated attempts to target a specific person by directly contacting them, or
indirectly using or disseminating their personal information, causing them distress, fear, or anger. The
main problems with cyberstalking are that people are not educated on how to react if someone is being

cyberstalkers.

Dendrites And Axons
Neural communication is information that flows from one neuron to another. These Neurons are called
Dendrites and Axons. Dendrites receives messages from other cells while Axons passes messages
away from the cell body to other neurons, muscles, or glands. In other words Dendrites listens and
Axons speaks. Neurons work by transmitting messages from stimuli signals from other senses; kind of
like batteries. Neurons sends neurotransmitters (Chemical messengers) across a tiny space between
one neurons terminal branch and the next cell body (dendrites). All this takes place in the synapse gap.
Excitatory message, increases the likelihood that the postsynaptic neuron will activate. Inhibitory
message, decreases the likelihood that the postsynaptic

Why Is Swan Lake An Importance Of The Ballets Around The...
Swan Lake has been an inspiration for choreographers and artists around the world. It is important to

company took place in Boston on May 3, 1990, when the Boston Ballet staged Swan Lake. Within the
production, Soviet danseurs partnered American Ballerinas, and American danseurs partnered Soviet
ballerinas. Even the sets, designed by an American artist, were constructed in the Soviet Union

This ranking system has its roots within the history. In the nineteenth century ballets were created to
show off the stars and the choreographies were designed to reinforce the stellar status of the principal
ballerina and her partner at center stage, encircled by soloists and ringed around by the corps de ballet.
Formerly men and women had different titles such as prima ballerina for the principal dancer and
premier danseur for the male principal, but nowadays ballet companies adopt a gender neutral
classification system. The hierarchy in the ranking has not only consequences for the roles the dancers
are casted for, but also the pay rates vary between the grades. Generally, members of the corps de
ballet earn between 25% and 50% of what a soloist or a principal earns. The denomination of the
different ranks depends from company to company, for example at the Paris Opera Ballet the dancers
are graded in ascending order as trainees, quadrilles, coryphées, sujets, premiers danseurs and étoiles,
meanwhile the Royal Ballet of London similarly grades its dancers from young dancers, artist, first
artist, soloist and first soloist to principal. The English National Ballet divides the dancers in even
more categories: artists, first artist, junior soloists, soloists, first soloists, character artists, principals,
lead principals and guest artists, meanwhile the American Ballet Theatre has only four grades:
apprentices, corps de ballet, soloists and

Sing Sing the other day from one of my Jazz collections that my grandpa gave to me and realized that
their was so much energy and pizzazz in this music. He explained to me that it was all put together by
a guy named Benny, and I understood why.

In Los Angeles, the band created a sensation, essentially starting the swing era. In fact, Goodman
became known as the King of Swing (Collier, 1989).
Swing was the dominant idiom of the 1930s and much of the 1940s. Basically, it was a form of dance
music played by a large band, and was the medium through which most white Americans first heard
Jazz (Schuller,1989). Although the decade 1935 45 was called the Swing Era, swing arrangements had
been played by large bands beginning in the 1920s. Bandleader arrangers Fletcher Henderson, Duke
Ellington, and, later, Count Basie, worked out arrangements for their 10 to 12 piece bands, which,
unlike traditional jazz bands, were divided into instrumental sections.
The rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, and drums) maintained a steady, even beat; the saxophone and
brass sections countered each other with harmonized riffs and repeated figures, with section leaders
improvising over this background (Stewart, 1979).
Utilized almost exclusively for dancing, the music of the big bands borrowed heavily from the
techniques introduced by Henderson. Among the most popular bands were those led by Goodman,
Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, the Dorsey brothers, and Artie Shaw. As a counterpart of the highly
arranged orchestrations of these New York based bands, a Kansas City swing style developed under
the influence of Count Basie and Bennie Moten that emphasized a blues

Family Dynamics And The Industrial Revolution Essay
During the Industrial Revolution, an exponential amount of working class and middle class Americans
moved to the cities, seeking to better their lives and to break away from the American tradition of
farming. Family dynamics also changed due to the Industrial Revolution, making the need for a large
family obsolete. Children were no longer helpers on the farm, making them more of a liability than an
asset. In turn, the number of children in middle class families reduced significantly, giving more
educated women time to accomplish other gratifying goals. Many American women spent their time
shopping and mingling with their neighbors, some would work, others would support their church, but
few would advance themselves in scholarly education or embrace a political role. Even with the
ability to work, many middle class women continued living with the mentality of staying at home.
With the poor wages paid to working women, it was not worth the effort for most. Many advice books,
women s magazines, novels, and religious periodicals inspired middle class mothers and married
women to focus on raising upright and moral children, and to produce a haven for their working
husband, changing their role to be a more domesticated one. This kept most middle class women
constrained to their homes and away from political affairs even though they were still expected to
participate in social gatherings with other wives of businessmen to reinforce their social and economic
bonds (Hewitt 331). It

Business Law Mistake
Introduction
In the Law of Contract the phrase mistake Misrepresentation is applied when one or both parties of a
contract act under a false or mistaken understanding.
Mistake can be defined by Pendleton , Vickery (1998), [1] as; ➢ A misunderstanding regarding a fact,
causing one or more parties to hold disagreeing beliefs about the foundation of a contract.
Mistakes can be made in the form of a contracts subject matter or as a mistake of identity. There are 3
different types of mistake in Contract Law. ➢ Common Mistake (Subject) ➢ Mutual Mistake
(Subject) ➢ Unilateral Mistake (Identity)

➢ Voidable
On the other hand if the contract is deemed voidable due to misrepresentation the contract still exists
and the good title is passed from the first party to the crook who then passes the good title on the an
innocent third party (as long as the innocent third party paid a reasonable price for the goods, if they
did not pay a reasonable price the court will find they did not have good faith and the contract is
therefore void). In a case like this the only thing the plaintiff can do is find the crook and sue him for
the amount lost.
There are two ways a court will decide if the contract is made void for mistake or not. If the contract
was made face to face or at a distance (eg. on the phone or by letter) ➢ At a distance
This was first applied in the case Cundy v Lindsay (1878)[10] where a crook had pretended to be a
regular customer of the company and ordered a substantial amount of goods. Once in possession of the
goods he sold them on to an innocent third party who bought them at a reasonable price (good faith).
The company then took action against the innocent third party under the grounds of mistake. It was
held in this case that the plaintiff was mistaken as to the identity of the crook and the contract was
made void, on the grounds that the plaintiff thought they

Lifestyle Declaration in the Armed Services
In 1993 President Bill Clinton signed a law that set the policy of don t ask, don t tell, don t pursue, and
don t harass when dealing with homosexuals serving in the Armed Services. The policy was a
compromise to allow homosexuals to legally serve in the military as long as they did not declare their
lifestyle or engage in conduct that was in violation of military good order and discipline. Supporters
viewed the law as a step forward in achieving equal rights for homosexuals. Opponents remained
concerned that the policy could jeopardize morale and unit effectiveness. The Joint Chiefs, including
the chairman, had all came out against the president on gays serving in the military (Gates 440). Over
time the military was able to adapt to the new policy and restore force readiness. In 2010 the Don t
Ask, Don t Tell policy was repealed and homosexuals were given the opportunity to openly serve in
the military. The Joint Chiefs once again objected and questioned the timing of the change. Many
believe the repeal was politically motivated and a bad idea that would add additional disruption to an
already strained fighting force. Every new service member must go through Basic Training for up to
12 weeks depending on the branch of service. The purpose of Basic Training is to indoctrinate the new
service member into the ways of military life. New service members are taught to work as a group and

History of Educational Reform
History of Educational Reform
Today new school reforms have been formulated. These reforms are created to form individuals into
becoming financially advanced and globally competitive persons. The very means to gauge the
progress of the new reform is through test scores. Standardized tests and the test scores are now
tantamount to accountability, transforming the educational system into a dehumanized market
institution. The school is seen as a capital investment and is now measured according to financial
value. Today s school reforms have seemed to do away with the notion of schools helping to create
people who are fully developed as human beings and as democratic citizens. (Tyack D. 1997)
However, amidst the prevailing regress in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dewey in spite of his secularism, had a conception of education which was almost purely religious.
Education is not concerned with intellectual values, its end is not to communicate knowledge or to
train scholars in the liberal arts. It exists simply to serve democracy; and democracy is not a form of
government. Rather it is a spiritual community based on the participation of every human being in the
formation of social values. Thus, every child is a potential member of the democratic church and it is
the function of education to actualize his membership and to widen his powers of participation. Under
the influence of John Dewey and other educational philosophers, William Heard Kilpatrick in the
early 1900s emphasized individualism, interest and rejected transfer of learning. Like John Dewey he
proposed the progressive system in education. (Sherman, R. 1999) Similarly, The Teachers College of
Columbia University pioneered in espousing American democratic education in the same line of
Dewey s philosophy. It seemed though that amidst criticism, the educational reform at that period
manifested success. It was in the 1940s as remembered by that generation as the good old days in
education when the United States Educational system held the prestigious status of being better if not
best. The professional leaders in the 1940s centered their pursuit towards excellence through their
programs for the public. As such the

Manson wrote the title of the song on the wall in blood after committing the murders. In the line, We

Beatles wrote songs meant for listening and not dancing. Throughout this verse, the writer talks about,

Relationship Between Media And Social Networks
Whether you want to or not, it is essential to engage in relationship marketing now. It is important to
build relationships with people who are actively talking about your niche and looking for answers to
their problems. While many people are still searching for answers through the search engines, most
people are hanging out in forums and on social networks. If you can create relationships with the right
people, then your business has a much higher chance of being successful.
The problem is that most of us don t have a lot of time to market on both forums and social networks,
so it is important to find the most effective place to actively participate and build relationships. Which

You Have To Enjoy Using The Platform
Whether you choose to do marketing through forums or social networks, it is important that you enjoy
the atmosphere and the way you interact with others. If you don t, then you will not willingly devote
your time to interacting and building relationships on that platform, and the people you interact with
will feel as though they are being marketed to, which is not what relationship marketing is all about.
For instance, social networking requires you to not only interact with your stuff, but also interact with

Ethanol as an Alternative Energy Source Essay
Biofuels: Ethanol an Alternative Energy Source
Abstract
In today s society, when someone wants to go to the movies, work, school, library, or mall, they drive
to their destination. The average amount of gasoline consumed per year is about 146 gallons in the
U.S. (Biofuels for Transportation, p1). Discoveries of huge petroleum deposits kept gasoline cheap for
decades and biofuels were forgotten (Leen, p1). However, with the recent oil prices, along with
growing concern of global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions, biofuel regained popularity
(Leen, p1). Ethanol, a renewable fuel made from plants was added to gasoline to increase octane and
help the engines burn more efficiently and cleanly (West,p1).

At the start of the 20th century, Henry Ford planned to fuel his Model T s with ethanol (Leen, p2).
This widely available fuel used in many vehicles on the road including sedans, minivans, SUVs,
pickups and light trucks costs about the same as a gallon of regular gasoline. A gallon of E85, a fuel
mix of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, contains less energy than a gallon of gasoline (Leen, p2).
Although ethanol has lower mileage and requires you to fill your tank more often, research proves that
it is better for our environment. In fact, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, all recommend ethanol fuels
(Leen, p2). Drivers would need more ethanol to drive the same distance, and ethanol prices are
expected to be higher than gasoline prices when and if it is implemented on a national scale. Drivers
of ethanol powered cars may also have to drive further distances to find a specialized gas station,
which offers E85 ethanol (Alternative Energy, p1).

One of the advantages of ethanol fuel is its organic origins. In the United States, ethanol is primarily
derived from corn. Since corn and sugar cane are both renewable resources grown by domestic
farmers, the land is known as an advantage (Sunshine, p1). Ethanol burns cleaner than gasoline, which
is another one of the advantages. It does not contain significant amounts of toxic materials such as

Summary Of A Dead Body Seems
Chapter Twenty One
The Answer Was Right under Our Noses
The answer came two days later, clearly stamped on Seth s pale face. Twist found something.
A dead body perhaps? After solving the Sade Stone caper, a murder would put the Deadwood
Detective Agency s name on everyone s lips.
I m not sure, he said.
Oh.
He wants us to meet him at Wallington Hall. He scraped back his lawn chair and jogged down the
front porch steps. A minute later, he was headed across the yard on his faded blue bicycle. I caught up
with him just outside the gate. We coasted beneath clumsy clouds like white giants with colorless
hearts and a lurid sun that caressed our cheeks.
By the time we reached the mansion, it was noon and the weather had radically ... Show more content

Thunder boomed again, rattling the broken glass in the window frames. Outside it was raining from
light sprinkles too hard fat drops in seconds.
I need to measure the ghostnitric energy in the room. Seth pulled a small device about the size of a
calculator from his hip pocket and pressed an oversized black button. The thingamabob made a soft
snick sound then flashed green.
So the green light means that the ghost was a fake? I guessed.
No, no. He lifted his eyes from the contraption and gave me a worried look. It was very real.
Real? Twist s eyebrows quivered.
Come on. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him up the stairs. You wanted to show us something,
remember?
Oh, right, he groaned.
We tiptoed down the dark hall and into the secret room. The casket was gone. Twist pointed to a trap
door in the floor that we hadn t seen before.
Seth s eyes got wide. Where did that come from?
It was here the entire time. We just didn t see it before because it was covered with a rug and dust.
Twist yanked the cord. The trapdoor swung up, and a wooden ladder clattered into place behind one of
the walls. Come on.
The steps trembled as we climbed down.
Seth reached the bottom and moved his flashlight around, a dim and shaky beam of yellow light
against the darkened shaft. The tunnel was filled with a bunch of creepy junk: a Samurai sword
covered in dust, glass jars containing tiny skulls in green goo, rigging pulleys attached to knotted
ropes like bristly

Comparing Central Minnesota s City And Rural Life
Just Over an Hour Away
The city of Minneapolis, Minnesota is booming with life! With its convention center, night life noise,
busy highways, advertised attractions, and sports related events, the city life expectations satisfy both
visitors and residents. It is typical to assume that the high end activities and busy nightlife attract
political feuds and noise because they are located in the city. Nonetheless, this is not the case for some
of Central Minnesota s rural life found in places such as Riverview, Sterns County, Baker Township,
and parts of Saint Cloud. So, comparing Central Minnesota s city and rural life, where are peace and
beauty located?
There is a continuous political struggle between the acceptance of dairy farm growth and feedlot
growth midst some of the family owned businesses in the rural areas. Insomuch, the largest milk
producer wanted to invest about 55 million into a dairy feedlot last year, but regulators proposed
environmental concerns such as nitrate pollution in the water, manure smell, and large scale
confinement of farm animals claiming it interferes with the beautiful side of country living. This
family is known to have over 35,000 dairy cows currently working up to 22 hours a day giving them
the competitive edge. Although this may appear somewhat monopolistic, it does provide employment
opportunities for many as well as financial economic development for the entire State of Minnesota.
Another spectacular main event in rural Minnesota is

The technology is then used to help patients recover and prevent diseases. Research and Development teams spend their entire careers testing and building new innovations to help the field progress. Luckily, a new modern technology has been developed. What is this technology? The 3D printer. 3D printers are surprisingly older than people think. They first started in the late 1980 s and have rapidly progressed. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The study found that the students that used the 3D printed model had a richer learning experience. The technology allows the medical students to better learn the different physical structures and organs. It also always them to practice different medical procedures and operations. Indeed, the technology will help effectively train more capable doctors. Another application is the ability to print models of patient s organs and specifically plan the surgery. For instance, surgeons used an MRI to scan a patient s brain and print an exact replica. A surgery was needed to remove a tumor. The surgeons could see the depth of the tumor and specific details. This technology allows them to plan and practice the surgical procedures for each patient s case. Even though it might appear that Bell Hook s and Sheryl Sandberg agree that women should be more proactive in their workplace, on a closer look, they actually disagree about the type of people who should be taking the advice, seen through Bell Hook s criticism of Sheryl Sandberg. Bell Hook s criticism of Sheryl Sandberg is seen through her analysis of Sheryl s social status and wealth. Bell Hook s analysis of Sheryl Sandberg s wealth and social status gives the reader a better understanding of how Sandberg effectively uses her race and class power and privilege to promote a narrow definition of feminism that obscures and undermines visionary feminist concerns (662). • 4. Theme Of The White Man s Burden Le Khuc Hoang Uyen 1AH The White Man s burden by Rudyard Kipling is a poem that, at face value, looks like a rhetorical command for white men to take up the grave responsibility of colonizing other nations for their own benefits. The poem thus does display certain social characteristics of the period, illustrated through some of its major themes like colonialism, racism and religion. Colonialism is the most overarching theme of the poem, especially when the poem focuses on white men s burden of colonizing and civilizing other nations. Strong sentiments about the need for colonialism is seen in the prevailing repetition of Take up the White Man s burden at the beginning of every stanzas, which serves like a persistent urge that keeps ... The view of colonization as a philanthropist act reflects the Social Gospel idea of philanthropy, which states that the more privileged, the wealthier has an obligation to assist the impoverished and the sick. This is seen in the religious reference of Our loved Egyptian night , which reminds us of the journey of Moses leading the Israelites out of slavery. The comparison between Moses journey and that of the white men to the native land suggests that Kipling views colonization as a holy act where the white men lead the native people out of the darkness of slavery, poverty, torture and ignorance. It therefore displays a more religious view of colonialism and thus does represent the way society was encouraged to perceive the act of colonization at that time. In conclusion, The White Man s burden displays a rather enthusiastic support for colonization. Through the insight given in his landscape memoirs, Lands Edge and Island Home, a more considered reading of his fictional texts; Breath, A Blow, A Kiss and Sand can be found. Specifically, these texts explore the role that landscape and place have had in shaping his perspectives and distaste of the expectations of Australian males. These texts each explore certain aspects of the expectations that men all over Australia are subjected to that Winton strongly opposes. Winton grew up in the 1960 s middle class suburb of Karrinyup, WA, his working class Christian family s beliefs and values, and events in his early life have evolved to form many of his present day values towards landscape and masculinity. Through his relationship with the land, Tim Winton was able to come to terms with the expectations of West Australian Masculinity, and define his own version. Surfing and free driving was first introduced to Winton in his teenage years after moving to the coastal town of Albany. The way in which human beings relate to one another has been a source of inspiration to painters, sculptors, authors, composers, playwrights, filmmakers and photographers alike. Relationships between people vary from the everyday dynamics and the significance in which they value one another and each connection between those relationships makes a different impact on the one of someone else. There are many relationships people form throughout their lives, for instance the primary relationships at the start of their lives, between parent and child, and siblings, which start in the home. A relationship between a parent and child has a special unspoken bond in which they share indescribable love, never ending care and affection for each other, as the parent is the only depended and reliable thing they have. A good parent and child relationship can teach a child how to form other bonds with mutual respect and admiration, such as friendships further on in life. As people grow and develop, they form secondary connections such as friendships and intimate relationships. Friendships are predominantly built on trust, even as young children. Interaction with peers helps to strengthen character and introduces a sense of belonging with others rather than family. The new imperialism : Imperialism has developed two very different meanings in history and in time. • 17. Who Is Andrew Jackson Responsible For The Indian Removal Act Andrew Jackson Debate Response Although there have been arguments made in support for Andrew Jackson, his decision to [pass the Indian Removal Acts were completely unhumanitarian. Andrew Jackson has to be held responsible for the thousands of unnecessary deaths he caused, and he has to be portrayed for the man he really was: a corrupt leader that lead America into committing mass genocide against the indigenous people of America. This should not be looked over due to the other achievements Andrew Jackson had completed during his life. He committed mass genocide, he was a racist who was driven to kill and enslave other living, breathing humans, and he killed thousands of Native Americans for land that America had no need for. He needs to be held at fault for his actions, and they simply cannot be accounted for as humanitarian. Despite Andrew Jackson not being able to predict the outcomes and consequences of the Indian Removal Act, there is no justifying his actions. Andrew Jackson was the man who openly gave approval to committing mass genocide for the Native Americans, forcibly removed thousands of Native Americans from lands they had owned for thousands of years prior, and approved and appointed the individuals in charge of starting the trail of tears. In February 1830, the Indian Removal Act set in place that potentially allowed the president to grant land that was west of the Mississippi river in exchange for Native American s land within existing state borders. In theory, this plan would allow the native to earn money if they wished to move, and in return the Americans could acquire more land. The outcome of this, however, was a bloody massacre. Many of the Native Americans did not want to move, since they have been living there for thousands of years, longer than the whites have been there. Since many of them did not want to move, the Americans used force in an attempt to push the Native Americans west in a movement that killed over 4,000 natives. There is no justifying what Andrew Jackson did in order to gain more unnecessary land. Throughout his life, Andrew Jackson proved time and time again that he was, indeed, an extraordinarily racist man. As a result, his actions against the Native Americans ... Before Kenny s entered their lives, Frank and Tub were close friends. Kenny isolated the two so that they could not team up against him. Dendrites receives messages from other cells while Axons passes messages away from the cell body to other neurons, muscles, or glands. In other words Dendrites listens and Axons speaks. Neurons work by transmitting messages from stimuli signals from other senses; kind of like batteries. Neurons sends neurotransmitters (Chemical messengers) across a tiny space between one neurons terminal branch and the next cell body (dendrites). All this takes place in the synapse gap. In Los Angeles, the band created a sensation, essentially starting the swing era. In fact, Goodman became known as the King of Swing (Collier, 1989). Swing was the dominant idiom of the 1930s and much of the 1940s. Basically, it was a form of dance music played by a large band, and was the medium through which most white Americans first heard Jazz (Schuller,1989). Although the decade 1935 45 was called the Swing Era, swing arrangements had been played by large bands beginning in the 1920s. Bandleader arrangers Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, and, later, Count Basie, worked out arrangements for their 10 to 12 piece bands, which, unlike traditional jazz bands, were divided into instrumental sections. The rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, and drums) maintained a steady, even beat; the saxophone and brass sections countered each other with harmonized riffs and repeated figures, with section leaders improvising over this background (Stewart, 1979). Utilized almost exclusively for dancing, the music of the big bands borrowed heavily from the techniques introduced by Henderson. Among the most popular bands were those led by Goodman, Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, the Dorsey brothers, and Artie Shaw. • 32. Family Dynamics And The Industrial Revolution Essay During the Industrial Revolution, an exponential amount of working class and middle class Americans moved to the cities, seeking to better their lives and to break away from the American tradition of farming. Family dynamics also changed due to the Industrial Revolution, making the need for a large family obsolete. Children were no longer helpers on the farm, making them more of a liability than an asset. In turn, the number of children in middle class families reduced significantly, giving more educated women time to accomplish other gratifying goals. Many American women spent their time shopping and mingling with their neighbors, some would work, others would support their church, but few would advance themselves in scholarly education or embrace a political role. Even with the ability to work, many middle class women continued living with the mentality of staying at home. With the poor wages paid to working women, it was not worth the effort for most. Many advice books, women s magazines, novels, and religious periodicals inspired middle class mothers and married women to focus on raising upright and moral children, and to produce a haven for their working husband, changing their role to be a more domesticated one. This kept most middle class women constrained to their homes and away from political affairs even though they were still expected to participate in social gatherings with other wives of businessmen to reinforce their social and economic bonds (Hewitt 331). If the contract was made face to face or at a distance (eg. on the phone or by letter) ➢ At a distance This was first applied in the case Cundy v Lindsay (1878)[10] where a crook had pretended to be a regular customer of the company and ordered a substantial amount of goods. Lifestyle Declaration in the Armed Services In 1993 President Bill Clinton signed a law that set the policy of don t ask, don t tell, don t pursue, and don t harass when dealing with homosexuals serving in the Armed Services. The policy was a compromise to allow homosexuals to legally serve in the military as long as they did not declare their lifestyle or engage in conduct that was in violation of military good order and discipline. Supporters viewed the law as a step forward in achieving equal rights for homosexuals. Opponents remained concerned that the policy could jeopardize morale and unit effectiveness. The Joint Chiefs, including the chairman, had all came out against the president on gays serving in the military (Gates 440). Over time the military was able to adapt to the new policy and restore force readiness. In 2010 the Don t Ask, Don t Tell policy was repealed and homosexuals were given the opportunity to openly serve in the military. The Joint Chiefs once again objected and questioned the timing of the change. Many believe the repeal was politically motivated and a bad idea that would add additional disruption to an already strained fighting force. These reforms are created to form individuals into becoming financially advanced and globally competitive persons. The very means to gauge the progress of the new reform is through test scores. The school is seen as a capital investment and is now measured according to financial value. Dewey in spite of his secularism, had a conception of education which was almost purely religious. Education is not concerned with intellectual values, its end is not to communicate knowledge or to train scholars in the liberal arts. It exists simply to serve democracy; and democracy is not a form of government. Rather it is a spiritual community based on the participation of every human being in the formation of social values. Thus, every child is a potential member of the democratic church and it is the function of education to actualize his membership and to widen his powers of participation. Under the influence of John Dewey and other educational philosophers, William Heard Kilpatrick in the early 1900s emphasized individualism, interest and rejected transfer of learning. Like John Dewey he proposed the progressive system in education. (Sherman, R. 1999) Similarly, The Teachers College of Columbia University pioneered in espousing American democratic education in the same line of Dewey s philosophy. It seemed though that amidst criticism, the educational reform at that period manifested success. It was in the 1940s as remembered by that generation as the good old days in education when the United States Educational system held the prestigious status of being better if not best. Ethanol as an Alternative Energy Source Essay Biofuels: Ethanol an Alternative Energy Source Abstract In today s society, when someone wants to go to the movies, work, school, library, or mall, they drive to their destination. The average amount of gasoline consumed per year is about 146 gallons in the U.S. (Biofuels for Transportation, p1). Discoveries of huge petroleum deposits kept gasoline cheap for decades and biofuels were forgotten (Leen, p1). However, with the recent oil prices, along with growing concern of global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions, biofuel regained popularity (Leen, p1). Ethanol, a renewable fuel made from plants was added to gasoline to increase octane and help the engines burn more efficiently and cleanly (West,p1). Introduction Ethanol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the start of the 20th century, Henry Ford planned to fuel his Model T s with ethanol (Leen, p2). This widely available fuel used in many vehicles on the road including sedans, minivans, SUVs, pickups and light trucks costs about the same as a gallon of regular gasoline. A gallon of E85, a fuel mix of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, contains less energy than a gallon of gasoline (Leen, p2). Although ethanol has lower mileage and requires you to fill your tank more often, research proves that it is better for our environment. In fact, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, all recommend ethanol fuels (Leen, p2). Drivers would need more ethanol to drive the same distance, and ethanol prices are expected to be higher than gasoline prices when and if it is implemented on a national scale. Drivers of ethanol powered cars may also have to drive further distances to find a specialized gas station, which offers E85 ethanol (Alternative Energy, p1). Since corn and sugar cane are both renewable resources grown by domestic farmers, the land is known as an advantage (Sunshine, p1).
