Essay On Breast Segmentation Recovery
Breast Augmentation Recovery
Patients in Breast augmentation recovery are usually asked to limit physical exertion for 3 to 7 days
before gradually getting back to more rigorous activities. The amount of rest needed and the amount
of time required for a total recovery where you are able to get back to regular activities will be based
on the locations of the incisions, the implant size as well as if the breast implant is located over or
under the pectoral muscle.
The most popular cosmetic surgery procedure in the world is breast augmentation and new
technological procedures are being introduced that will let women who have the surgery done to
recover quicker so they can get back to their daily activities as fast as possible. When considering
surgery, the results are a major consideration in the final decision to have the surgery done. Although
recovery is fairly brief, it is a very important step for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You are probably thinking about which surgeon you should go with and how you will actually pay for
the surgery. Two major considerations are how to avoid physical strain after surgery and how much
time you ll need to spend away from work and other obligations. Will you be able to set up an
environment that is calm and relaxing that will speed up healing? Patients should also keep in mind
that they will not need to spend their recuperation time in bed for a full week. Instead, you only have
to minimize your physical activities and follow your doctor s instructions to properly heal.
If you are seriously thinking about getting breast enhancements, really take all aspects of the surgery
into account as well as how you will recover. Once you know what to expect and you are prepared to
closely follow your surgeon s suggestions, you will have a higher probability of having a successful
recovery which will enhance your appearance and boost your confidence for years to come.

Hume s perspective on Mr. Craft s actions given his philosophy on human nature and humankind s
motives may have prompted Hume to view Mr. Craft s omission, and threat of suing as proof that he
was acting in self interest or lying to get ahead. Thus, Hume would have voted no dismissing Mr.
Craft from the application process.
Hobbes Response
Hobbes views on the dilemma may have yet been different in contrast to Hume s. Hobbes believes
that individuals are free to use their mental and physical capacities to do what is essential to conserve
their lives in the state of nature (Cambridge, 2007). This right deems to permit individuals to even take
the lives of others if such action is necessary to preserve their own lives. Hobbes philosophy on the
state of human nature when faced with competition, desire for position and power is that it leads to
situations of severe conflict and irrational decisions. Thus, Hobbes may have decided to hire Mr. Craft
with the notion of not faulting him for acting the way human nature was designed.
Kant s Response
Kant s perception on the ethical dilemma would have been differed in contrast to Hobbes s. Kant
believes that we should act out of moral duty, and use the principles of rationalization rather than
desire. Kent believes that the desire for any expected consequence or emotional feeling may cause us
to act out of inclination, and a desire for a

Managing Red Tape From The Point Of View Of A Business...
This article provided insight on managing red tape from the point of view of a business founder. The
author who founded the Virgin Group of companies describes red tape as a hinderance to startup
companies, as if its intended purpose was to limit or prevent success. The author uses his experience
with founding companies to elaborate on the cautionary measures a startup must take as it grows to
prevent the hierarchy of bureaucracy from taking over. The author illustrates his point by using the
example of the Tesla automobile company s recent clash with the state of New Jersey caused by the
companies desire to sell their electric automobiles directly to customers, although state statutes call for
automobiles to be sold through auto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author s comments about Airbnb are shorter, presumably due to the fact that they adhere to the
rules and regulations laid before the company instead of refusing to accept them and accusing a
government official of illegal activity in the manor Musk chose to. This article strongly suggests the
common opinion on red tape, rules, and regulations implemented by government is that they are a
hassle, they prevent success, and their purpose is to create obstacles for startup companies. Perhaps
this article s intent of advice is skewed, but it effectively raises the questions of how can red tape be
monitored and applied to the necessary recipients in a way that they respect and understand the
necessary process? Büschgens, Thorsten, Andreas Bausch, and David B. Balkin. Organizational

Biography of Martha Graham Essay example
Biography of Martha Graham
Martha Graham was known as the mother of American dance. She was born on May 11,
1894 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. At fourteen she moved with her family to California and began
dancing. The first dance recital she saw was in Los Angeles, California by choreographer and dance
pioneer, Ruth St. Denis. When Graham was twenty two years old she joined the Denishawn school
and dance troupe. The school of Ruth St. Denis and
Ted Shawn had a great impact on Graham s idea of dance. Graham used different dance traditions in
her works to create a Neo classical dance style. She believed that movement originated in the tension

In this, she played a virgin, who represented the independent woman. She danced in Primitive
Mysteries after she visited the American
Southwest in 1931. Graham s interest in the American theme began after the dance. After
Primitive Mysteries she continued to stick with the American theme. The most influential American
themed dances were Appalachian Spring, American
Document and Frontier. The American Document was a dance that used the Bible as well as the
Declaration of Independence as inspiration. There was more speaking in this show than in any other.
The narrator spoke alternate lines from the sermons of the Bible. The narrator also spoke about
American History including passages from The Declaration of
Independence.
Appalachian Spring was one of her most famous shows. The American Theme is portrayed in this
dance, through the marriage of an American couple, beginning their lives together on the American
Frontier. The dance was popular when it was introduced to the public and is still known as one of her
best pieces today. The Frontier was the first of the American Theme. It was a solo performance
choreographed and danced by Graham. The Frontier was the first time she used Isamu
Noguchi to sculpt her set. It was the first time a sculptor was used in modern dance. The set he
designed captured the vastness of the American Frontier. Graham was not the only dancer and
choreographer of her time. Alwin Nikolais

David Slater s Essay-A Monkey And His Pictures
A Monkey and His Pictures
Recently, a man became acquainted with a group of macaque monkeys and set up his camera to take
pictures of them. However, he couldn t do it himself, so he made the monkeys take pictures of
themselves. Wikimedia saw these pictures and immediately uploaded them to their website, starting a
heated debate between the photographer, David
Slater, and Wikimedia. The debate was over whether or not David owned the copyright to those
pictures, and it was voted that he didn t because in the copyright laws, only humans that actually took
the pictures could own the copyright to it. However, some people believe that this is wrong, especially
David Slater. Truth be told, he set up the cameras to where the monkeys would take the ... Show more

To start, David Slater set up his cameras. He put in work, the setup was his doing, and therefore the
rights should be his. An old saying states that one reaps what one sows, however, it appears that one
must also make the plant grow as well, instead of allowing it to do the task itself. David sowed his
seeds in setting up the cameras, and where is his reaping? It is free on the Internet, no strings attached.
While David did make some money off of his pictures, he no longer receives profit from them due to
the piratical acts of a company. It is too bad that David Slater could not have taken the pictures

Another flaw is found in the copyright law stating that only a human can own a copyright, and since
the monkey took the picture, David could not own the copyright.
David worked to have what was rightfully his. His efforts were put forth to create the picture, like a
director of a movie. They get to own their copyrights, but they are indirectly involved in the
production of the movie. This is unfair seeing as how a man indirectly involved in the creation of
photos cannot own the rights to his own

Observational Learning Experience
If I were to have a five year old nephew and I were to have to teach him something I would mostly
likely use a combination of reinforcers and observational learning. Both positive and negative
punishment would be implemented in the teaching process, as well as the observational part so that
they all compliment each other. Most likely I would begin to teach him to play baseball and basketball
since most, including myself, start around that age. Although, I would not be as hard on him as my
brothers were on me when it came to sports.
I would begin to teach him baseball since it is my favorite. Before any actual practice begins I would
explain the simple form of the concept of the game. The object of the game, some terminology, etc.

Again I was always taught in more of a punishment type approach and again it worked for me, but I
believe it depends on the kid that is being taught and how they handle it. The same goes for basketball
as it did baseball, I would teach him the concept and objective of the game. When a kid this age is
being taught it is all really observational, because they look to you for guidance and on how to do
everything properly. They literally try to copy everything you do. When it comes to basketball once he
has the concept down and I have taught him how to do everything correctly, I would take more of
punishment route. For example, if he keeps missing lay ups, I would make him make fifty before he
could move on to anything else. If he has trouble dribbling, then I would make him do dribbling drills
until he has started to improve. The same goes for baseball too. Punishment in a form that improves
his game by making him to the same thing over and over again until he gets better. My punishment in
both sports was that I would always have to run if I messed up repeatedly. That only makes you want
to do better, which makes you better in the long run, but making him repeat what he needs to improve
has more of a direct correlation in helping his weak aspects of the

Reflection Of Communication Analysis
What is the tone of the meeting. The plan is to create a rational yet subjective tone that discusses
expected results. This will ensure that while an adherence to data and facts are prevalent in the
presentation, subjective considerations are presented and forwarded as important elements in the
decision making process. I will begin with an introduction of who I am, my experience and a clear
statement of specifically why I feel I have been hired and what I can directly bring to the company (in
this part I will try to engage those I feel we can initiate an alliance with while not directly
antagonizing the limiters). Finally, I will end with a clear plan including our vision of communication.
As stated previously, I will be as transparent as possible because of the need to create trust in myself
and the communication division as a whole. The department vision presented initially will be quite
lean and minimal with the focus being on quality over quantity. The focus of our energy will be on
channels and tactics that have a better chance to deliver disproportional results to build momentum
and support for our new department such as the go ahead for a communications audit and the need to
invest in the necessary staff and infrastructure to achieve this.
What are our goals going into the meeting?

Essay On Hotel Del Coronado
Hotel del Coronado, San Diego, CA.
If you had the chance to visit San Diego, California you might consider staying at the Hotel del
Coronado. This popular beachfront hotel was once featured in the movie Some Like It Hot starring
Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. It is possible that this hotel inspired writer L. Frank
Baum to come up with Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz . The hotel isn t green but it slightly
resembles Emerald City. The hotel was built in the Victorian age in 1888 and is considered to be a
luxury beachside resort hotel on Coronado Island just a ten minute drive from downtown San Diego.

The Chemistry Of Organic Contaminants
Over the past ten years, the Institute of Gas Technology, now Gas Technology Institute (GTI), USA
and others have conducted research on the bioremediation of organic contaminants in soil. Most of
this work has been associated with remediation of former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites, soils
from industrial areas and oil production areas have also been studied. The results have shown that: (1)
organic contaminants are biodegraded by indigenous soil microorganisms to a concentration that no
longer decreases, or that decreases very slowly, with continued treatment; (2) reductions below this
concentration are limited by the availability of the contaminants to the microorganisms; and (3) the
residual contaminants that remain after biological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bacterial enzymes will catalyze the insertion of oxygen into the hydrocarbon so that the molecule can
subsequently be consumed by cellular metabolism. Because of this oxygen is one of the most
important requirements for the biodegradation of oil. Table 1 shows the list of some of the
microorganisms which are involved in the bioremediation of oil contamination.
Microbial Seeding
Oil degrading microorganisms seem to be ubiquitous, with their number typically limited by the
hydrocarbon supply (Namazi et al., 2008). Another approach is to add exogenous microorganisms
with known degradative activities, either natural isolates or engineered (Narasimhan et al., 1983).
Seeding involves the introduction of allochthonous microorganisms into the natural environment for
the purpose of increasing the rate or extent, or both of biodegradation of pollutants. The rationale for
this approach is that the autochthonous microorganisms may not be capable of degrading the wide
range of potential substrates present in complex mixtures such as petroleum (Raghavan, 1998).
Terrestrial ecosystems differ from aquatic ecosystems in that soils contain higher concentrations of
organic and inorganic matter and generally, large number of microorganisms and are more variable in
terms of physical and chemical conditions (Bossert et al., 1984). The presence of indigenous
microorganisms which are highly adapted to a particular environment would negatively influence the

Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, C.J. Jung and William James...
Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, C.J. Jung and William James were all brilliant and diverse theorists who
made vast contributions to the science of psychological studies. These brilliant minds fueled the
psychological studies of future theorists with their contrasting theoretical approaches and discoveries.
At times, they collaborated to formulate concepts and understandings but separated because of
conceptual disputes. Freud s psychoanalysis theory was at the epicenter of some studies but these men
in their individuality contributed their own theoretical concepts and developed their own schools of
thought from Jung s analytical psychology, Adler s independent school of psychotherapy, James s

These include his structural analysis of personality into Id, Ego, and Superego, and his description
between anxiety, and ego defense mechanism (pg 422).
Freud s structure of personality theory divides the mind into three parts, the Id, which centers on
desires, pleasures, primal impulses, or urges. The Ego, which is concerned with the conscious, the
moral, rational, and is self aware. The Super ego, the censor of the Id, which enforces the moral code
of the Ego. He believed the Ego and Super ego are both partly conscious and unconscious. His
structural theory of the Id, Ego and Super ego was detailed in the book, The Ego and the Id when
Freud revised his earlier theory of mental functioning and believes repression is one of many defense
mechanisms and it occurs to reduce anxiety. Freud reasons the conflict between the drive and
superego as the cause of anxiety which is the root cause that inhibits mental functions, such as an
individual s intellect. Identification, rationalization and projection are three other defense mechanisms
people use to protect their mind from anxiety.
Freud s theory of psychosexual development states people seek pleasure from erogenous zones and
everything a person becomes as an adult is determined by their childhood experiences. An individual

Alienation By Henrik Ibsen And Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe...
Alienation, through my personal views, is inevitable in the modern day. Our society has become so
adapt to depending on the individual to conform to the demanding expectations of our society. What
constitutes a life of alienation in my opinion is the inability to find meaning in the world and to
become a cog in the machine of our society, conforming to what is expected from us based off of
societal norms. This idea can best be highlighted through Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe s Faust, which is illustrated through the main character s alienation based on
their inability to find meaning in their lives.
Alienation in Ibsen s Hedda Gabler is based particularly on personal alienation highlighted through
the main character Hedda. Hedda is the perfect representation of an alienated individual asserted
against a conventional society. Ibsen focuses particularly on the ownership of Hedda Gabler, from the
ownership of her father into the hands of George Tesman, to see Hedda to never be in complete
ownership of herself until she takes the matters into her own hands and claims her own life by
committing suicide at the end of the play. She is lost in a world where she no longer has anyone,
beside herself and her pistols, which she continually shoots off as these pistols can be seen to
dramatize Hedda s disconnect from the world and the frustrations she feels towards it. Arguably she
has nothing to look forward too, besides the continual hounding from George

Educational Psychology Class Analysis
In the first week of the second semester starts on my long road of potentially becoming a teacher. My
Educational Psychology class had me thinking and analyzing the issues in the world specifically
education. I have always known that there are issues in the world of education but I didn t know some
of the issues are close to home such as our community of De Pere. The issues, conversations we talked
about included the high rates of poverty in children, America s drum major instinct, and the
opportunity gap. All these issues pose a significant issue in our educational system and lives of
children.
Before I get into the detail of what I have learned over the course of three class periods I would like to
address how blessed and thankful I am. While I always try to tell myself that it can always be worse or
that there are many other individuals who are struggling to live. I do not always follow that lesson.
However, by watching videos, in addition with the readings and our class lectures helped me remind
myself of the daily struggles people live by. I will admit I m not the individual who lives in a gated

Catullus And Sappho Comparison
When reading the poems from Sappho, they all are about love. In this poem, the narrator seems to be a
woman. She is speaking about she feels as if she s being held back from opening up to love, so she

on same sex relationships. The poem says Yes, come once more, from sore obsession free me; all that
my heart desires fulfilled, fulfill help me to my victory. (Vol. A, p. 563) The love being described in
this poem seems to be very strong. After reading this selected poem, I think that lovers should treat
each other with respect. People in general should treat each other the way that they want to be treated.

People always say that you have to earn respect because it is not given to you. Characters should learn

Love makes people do crazy things in life because sometimes you center everything you re doing
around that one person that you are in love with until you realize there are more important things in
life and love can come later in life.
I think a poor of example of love would be the Boccaccio s Decameron. In one of his stories, he
describes a situation between a husband and wife, where the husband is jealous of the wife so he
drinks a lot because he s afraid that she is cheating on him, which she really was cheating on him

The Enuma Elin Creation Theth Of The Enlonian Creation Myth
The Enuma Elish is the Babylonian Creation Myth. Written on seven stone tablets, the poem describes
the beginning of the universe as a separating of water from Chaos. Essentially, the universe begins in a
chaos of swirling waters until, with time, the waters separate into Apsu and Tiamat. In response to this
myth, the first book of Genesis was written during the Babylonian Exile. Genesis 1 introduces how
God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. In addition to this creation story, there
were another one written centuries before and it was written in Genesis two and three. This story,

God created the sky and the waters like Marduk did as he split Tiamat into sky and land, but it is
important to note that God did this out of love and Marduk created out of vengeance. (Genesis 1:6 7,

can assume that the order might infer that the response was not of what order creation, but who the
creator is and why he made creation into existence.
The God in Genesis, through his peaceful speaking into the creation of the world and humanity, can be
seen as humble, peaceful, and is mysterious. In Enuma Elish, the chaos and violence noted can make
the reader infer that the gods are all powerful and they have to make creation right, but from the

Introduction:
The purpose of this article is to illustrate how financial cutbacks affect job quality as well as quality of
care (Burns, D. J., Hyde, P. J., Killett, A. M., 2016, p. 991). The article further goes on to predict that
ongoing and accelerated cost places pressure on facilities that ultimately affects the quality of jobs and
care in nursing homes based on their approach. The quality of residential care is a global concern and
as the number of aging adults only grows, this concern will only grow (Burns, D. J., Hyde, P. J., ...

The authors posed a question on whether or not the financial objectives of a for profit or non profit
play a role in the quality care. This study lacks the examination of whether or not these nursing homes
have the resources to organize certain work processes or the actual outcomes they achieve in terms of
care. The authors again use the two different approaches throughout the article to determine whether
these approaches and financial cutbacks affect the quality of workforce that ultimately affect the
quality of care residents receive (Burns, D. J., Hyde, P. J., Killett, A. M., 2016, p. 995).
Methods:
The authors took a qualitative design to their research to developed an understanding why the quality
of care varied across several nursing homes (Burns, D. J., Hyde, P. J., Killett, A. M., 2016, p. 995).
This study included 12 different nursing homes which consist of a mixture of non profit and for profit
nursing homes and residential living communities over the course of three years (2009 2012). Each
nursing home varied from 10 to 65 bed facilities that varied in the terms of the level of care provided.
Field research consisted of repeated site visits to each nursing home or living community, interviews,
and observations. Each visit to the different nursing communities lasted from four to six weeks.
During this time, the authors conducted 175 different interviews including department heads, nurses,
caregivers, residents, and family or relatives of the

The Woman in White to detective fiction, as it uses Marian and Walter as amateur detectives which
allows Collins to keep secrets from the audience and reveal the truth at the end of the book. The
Woman in White was also published in sections, so secrets were used to build tension and create cliff
hangers that would keep the audience buying the next section.
In the extract from The Woman in White Marian has arrived at Sir Percival s home, Black Water Park,
and is exploring the grounds. Collins uses different narrators throughout the novel which creates
unreliable narrators and limits the amount of information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Marlow is talking to Bill Chess about Kingsley s cabin Chess describes it as first class which
implies Kingsley s wealth. However, the fact that he has a private reservoir in the hills suggests that he
uses his wealth to separate himself from the rest of society, which links back to the isolation of the
setting. On the other hand it could also suggest that he keeps himself secluded in order to keep his
money away from others which may imply that he is greedy, and untrusting. This in turn makes him a
suspicious character which links to the genre of mystery novels, and also adds to the theme of secrets
as it causes the reader to feel suspicious of him and view him as a possible threat and

Concussions Are Minor Traumatic Brain Injuries Caused By...
Patho:
Concussions are minor traumatic brain injuries caused by bumping the head. The action taking place
that causes a concussion is when the brain bounces around in the skull causing minor to major
bruising. This causes chemical changes in the brain and leaves the damaged areas in the brain
vulnerable to permanent damage if injured again. Symptoms involve impairments of memory and
attention, headache, and alteration of mental status, are the result of neuronal dysfunction mostly
caused by functional rather than structural abnormalities ( Signoretti, 2011). According to Signoretti,
the symptoms occur because of the trauma causes the neurons to fall out of homeostasis causing a

From that a huge risk factor is motor vehicle accidents. Falling is seen a lot in children and from that
fall risk is seen as a risk factor for children to receive concussions.
Homecare Home care for patients with concussions is very unique. Depending on the severity of the
concussion, the child should stay in dim to no light due to the light worsening the headache of the
patient. The child should not watch television, play on phones, listen to music, or be around loud
noises. All of those can cause worsening of the patient s symptoms of the concussion. Medication can
be given for the child, as long as it is verified by the doctor. The child can not return to normal
activities until considered safe by the doctor. As the headache and symptoms subside the patient can
return to normal living, except for contact sports they will be have to be cleared by a doctor as well as
go through concussion precautions going back to sports.
Social
There are a lot of social views on concussions and different opinions as to how to care for children
who may have received concussions and how this has changed dramatically over the last few years.
One example of this is when playing football 10 years ago if we got a concussion we sat out for an
hour and then jumped back into practice unless we were throwing up with a class III concussion. Now
any risk of concussion children are being forced out of the game for upwards of two weeks. According

King Henry V As The Mirror Of All Christian Kings
In this week s first lecture we opened by watching the prologue from a production of Henry V. We
discussed how this plays setting is that of some years after Henry IV. The present king Henry is the
matured prince Hal from the last story. Shakespeare referred to King Henry V as the mirror of all
Christian kings, as he is a reflection of what Christian kings should be. We then talked about the
essence of how this grand type of story could be effectively performed in a small wooden theater. We
talked about the bond between the author, actors, and audience that exists in the theater. We also talked
about the text of the prologue in which the chorus simply asks the audience to use their imaginations
by requesting that they suspend disbelief. In this the Chorus essentially pleads with the audience to
view the representations presented to them as what they are intended more than what they are. For this
to be effective the triple bond comes into play, the writing, acting and audience participation are all
required to properly appreciate the story as it was intended. We will use two approaches to look at this
play, the first is as a Christian hero. We mentioned how Henry V was an embodiment of the symbols
of the lion, fox, and pelican. The first scene after the prologue includes two cardinals praising the king
for his great qualities. We began looking at some of the representations of Henry V as the fox symbol
embodying the qualities of justice, wisdom, and diplomacy. We watched

Persuasive Essay On Bullying
When Will it Stop?
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school each day
because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a
major problem in schools for far too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is
supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the
punishment they deserve, which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should
know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will
get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school.
The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that
they won t be caught and that bullying isn t a huge deal, but it is. Bullying causes students to not go to
school, to feel alone, and to leave their school feeling worthless. If the bully were to be suspended,
he/she would learn quickly that what they are doing is wrong in so many ways. They will realize that
bullying can be the reason they don t get into their dream school or do something they love. On the
other hand, victims of bullying don t come forward and voice that the have been taunted, teased, and
tormented because they don t think the school will help them. 67 percent of students feel that their
school doesn t hear about their bullying and doesn t do anything that will prevent it (Soard). A great
number of bullies in schools go unnoticed because of this which will in turn, make them continue to
do these hurtful things. Punishments that bullies receive are not harsh enough and need to be
reconsidered if we want a change in our lives.
Bullies not getting punished leads more students to get involved in these horrible acts due to peer
pressure. Students feel like they need to bully to be popular or because everyone else does it. They don
t realize that bullying other kids makes you look worse and can drive that student to never come back
to school or do something even worse. If the students who started the bullying were caught and
suspended, less students would continue the bullying. They would see the consequences that a bully
got and

Essay On My Life Experience
Each day we all experience things that are extraordinary and sometimes unforgettable. Yet it s how we
let those experiences impact us individually that makes us each unique. An experience in my life that
changed how I acted, thought, and felt was the first time I volunteered at my church during their
summer scamp sessions. The scamp sessions aimed to make the lessons correlate to things the kids
would do during summer camps. Serving at one of these session allowed the year round volunteers to
continue serving if they wanted, but also have the ability to take a vacation and enjoy the church s
service. Although life offers a multitude of life changing experiences, serving at Mecklenburg
Community Church for the first time was greatest experience because I gained connections in my
community, learned strong leadership skills and gained a desire to serve others first. It all began when
I attended my first scamp session and I had several opportunities for jobs outside of the church over
the summer and translating into the school year. The first time I served at Meck I was able to meet and
be introduced to three families at the church who later reached out to me for weekly opportunities to
work with their kids. In seeing the kids both in and outside of church over the summer scamps I
gained more insight of their lives and personalities. One specific family that I met the first time I
volunteered was the Harris family. I made a close bond with their youngest daughter

The Role Of Witchcraft In The 15th And 16th Century
During the 15th and 16th century, the term witchcraft was common and spread all around Europe.
Witchcraft was believed to be a supernatural phenomenon that dictated many people s fears of the
world around them. Supernatural phenomena were the people s attempts to explain the good and bad
things that were happening around their towns. Due to their lack of knowledge in the medical field
and of the outside world, people used magic and witchcraft as a justification for disease or growing
crops (cite). Witches were believed to help the devil, using their powers to harm others. When the
witch scare spread around, people were afraid of their friends and neighbors who could potentially be

Demonology and witchcraft have often been associated together, because people believed that witches
had ties with demons and the devil. Witches were believed to be servants that carry out the duties of
the devil. Witchcraft originally connected to demonology through the inherent belief that humans were
naturally wicked and weak. Around the 17th century, it was a popular belief that humans could be
manipulated by supernatural means such as demons and witches. Witches were said to be identified by
a certain mark on their bodies (Cornell University Library). Other tactics used to find a witch were
throwing her in water and seeing if she would drown, and pricking them and seeing if she would
flinch or not. Witch trials often were tried in secular or ecclesiastical courts during the 15th to 17th

A Long, Enduring History
The planet that we reside on has a long, enduring history. Today, remnants can still be found that tell
the history of the land, and of its inhabitants; many of these remnants, however, have been destroyed
over time. The Bamiyan Valley in Afghanistan has a rich and complicated history that continues up to
the present day. The residents of Bamiyan live neighboring a wall of cliffs, speckled with caves.
Bordering the city on each side, two abandoned niches are carved into the cliff face, each towering
over 100 meters. These great niches once held two Buddha statues that looked out over the Bamiyan
Valley, but now stand empty. Once a witness to the history of the area, these Buddhas were destroyed
in 2001 when the Taliban, a terrorist group, destroyed them due to their religious imagery. Since their
destruction, the international community has risen up in protest, and endless discussions on its
reconstruction have been hashed out as further studies are done on the remains. The interaction with
religious ideology complicates and stigmatizes the situation, causing many discussions to go nowhere.
The Bamiyan Buddhas hold significant cultural value, providing not only a religious sanctuary for
many, but also by attracting travelers with their beauty. By leaving the niches empty, we risk the well
being of the Bamiyan Valley, as well as a loss of a key part of history. In restoring the Buddhas, the
international community can also see it as a restoration of the Bamiyan Valley

One of the most important skills to have in the chemistry lab is the understanding of how chemicals

Understanding the Economic Recession in America Essay
The economic recession of the late 2000s has been called the greatest economic downturn our country
has faced since the Great Depression. American businesses and banks are failing, foreclosures are
spreading like wildfire, and unemployment numbers have reached double digits. Under our current
president, many are optimistic, but many others are fearful for the future. Economists have different
speculations regarding the causes of the Great Recession . Some blame it on higher prices for
necessities like oil. Others blame the recession on the burst of the real estate bubble, inflation, and
lacking government regulations on big businesses. Economic experts are also debating on possible
solution to end the recession. It is evident that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the housing bubble burst, credit was tightened and fewer loans were distributed. These two events,
along with the global price expansion, helped create a ripple effect that furthered the economic
turmoil. The credit squeeze lowered demand of products from businesses, which led to a decrease in
their profits. As revenues decreased, businesses closed down many of their plants and facilities in
order to reduce costs. The closures of these plants led to layoffs of millions of workers, and finally, a
sharp decline in the US stock market ( What Caused the Recession? ). Although the instability of sub
prime mortgages, the credit crunch, and the expansion of global prices heralded the advent of the
economic crisis, other experts have had their own opinions about the cause of the financial meltdown.
Adam Smith s invisible hand and the American pursuit of self interest played a large role on the onset
of the recession. The invisible hand is an economic theory developed b Adam Smith, a pioneer in
world economics. The theory is that as consumers buy products, companies will adjust their prices and
product distributions to fit the needs of the consumers, thus resulting in mutual satisfaction between
businesses and buyers ( Adam Smith and the invisible hand ). However, as the economy grew strong
during the pre recession years, American consumers became more influenced by greed. They

China’s New Nationalism Essay
No one can deny from recent news that there has been a strong surge of Chinese nationalism, and that
this nationalism has turned heads in the international community. The nationalism that the CCP has
affected is taking on a life of its own. In its strategy of pragmatic nationalism, the CCP tried to blur the
lines between love of country with love of the state and governing body. What has resulted is a whole
new breed of nationalism that is very much independent of the Chinese Communist Party and in fact
has caused the CCP great concern. This new form of nationalism is much more vibrant, passionate,
virulent and uncontrollable than the government had intended with its post 1989 strategy of obtaining

visit to the Shaanxi museum of history. Our tour guide was a locally educated young woman in her
twenties. As she took us through the different periods of Chinese history, at every exhibit showing
some sort of tool or mechanistic contraption she would turn and say as you can see, the Chinese
people are very smart! She also recounted a story in which she was very offended that an American
made a comment that Chinese people are short, to which she replied yes, we are, but we have five
thousand years of history and culture! Both the richness and vastness of Chinese history was a huge
source of pride for her, as her slightly illogical response to the American s comment shows. In
retrospect, her age denotes that she grew up on the government s campaign in the 1990s to educated
students about China s greatness, to foster pride. At the same time however, China s battered history
with the West since the Opium war of the mid 19th century was emphasized to demonstrate how
Chinese has been constantly abused and mistreated by the imperialist powers. The CCP was portrayed

Voting Is A Central Right
Voting is a central right to each American citizen. Your vote is your chance to be listened, to hold
chosen elected officials responsible for their actions and to have a say in vital issues that influences
your community. You can t have an effectively run democratic government without the backing and
votes of the citizens. Voting gives the capacity for individuals to express their opinions about the
administration. Each vote consoles our majority rule government and makes it stronger; we can t
allow it to weaken and crumble. A large number of Americans battled for our rights, they shed their
blood to give us what we have today. Whether you vote or not, somebody will be chosen president.
What s more, that individual will be your leader, settling on choices that influence you and this nation
for a long time to come.
A few individuals contend it s not worth trying to vote either on the grounds that they don t care for
the hopefuls or they don t trust government regardless of which party holds the Congress. Numerous
individuals are furious with the legislature and couldn t care less to vote. Voting is both a privilege and
an obligation as a citizen. Our democratic system is established upon the guideline of free and
reasonable elections in which each qualified citizen casts a vote. You have the decision to make about
whether to practice your entitlement to vote. In any case, it makes a difference. You have the last say.

Compare And Contrast Dracula And The Fall Of The House Of...
After Horace Walpole redefined the term Gothic with his literary form that mixed history and fantasy
in a way that was meant to create wonder and terror, the term developed to take a on many
interconnected meanings. These meanings include Goths/Visigoths which Edward Gibbon describes
as a general appellation of rude and warlike barbarism (Moreland, slide 29). It is also a Medieval style
of architecture and an unwritten constitution which describes the traditional balance of power in
British politics between the royalty and the people (Moreland, slide 31). The final meaning is that of
Gothic fiction whose characteristics include: strong emotion (mainly terror/horror), antiquity,
haunting, isolation, obscurity/mystery and/or monstrousness/grotesquerie. Among the 18th and 19th

into their recent exhibitions artists Nakeya Brown and Michaela Pilar Brown, not related, mine their

Through collage, sculpture and photography sometimes all together she makes real the fantasy and
perhaps nightmare of Black womanhood, history, sexuality and love. Themes are not just presented
but turned on their head. In the object sculpture Country Preacher , Pilar Brown puts a tiny black
church with a gold cross in the mouth of a bird skull. One thinks of death and sin in the church and
how much our present and past lives inform that unknown future. Then in Cut You a female figure is
adorned for survival and battle as a black woman with horns, a knife, and high heels. She poised to
attach those that may try to challenge her strength. She s sitting on ready. The things that may have
been lost, Pilar Brown constructs among the sculptures for the viewer to find. Her pieces tell a
historical fiction not unlike a Toni Morrison novel. That may Black women will immediately
recognize intuitively. Both, Brown and Pilar Brown, help to bring the Black woman narrative forward
in these recent exhibitions. When I see their work I see myself. I follow the clues of their
contemporary aesthetics to read the narrative of objects, understanding that the littlest things have the
biggest significance. That those old pictures and junk found in granny s house are actually

The Causes Of Fascism
Fascism is a widely debated topic, many theories are proposed regarding its origins, its appeal, the
support it gained from big business and the cooperation it received from the Catholic Church. What I
believe to be an inalienable truth is that early signs of fascism are firmly rooted in the First World War.
To argue that the First World War caused fascism however is debatable, I will hold the belief that the
First World War was a catalyst for fascism, that fascism as Roger Eatwell puts was embryonic rather
than fully formed (R. Eatwell, Fascism: A History) and that the war created a unique environment and
opportunity for the nurturing and growth of fascist ideologies. I will discuss what I believe to be the
most potent factors that pushed the growth of fascism, the economic crisis of the 1920s and the
subsequent weakening of western liberal democracies, the discontentment and chagrin of the Italian
and German public towards victory and defeat respectively and most importantly, the threat of
Communism and its political manipulation.
Hobsbawm argues that, fascism did not exist before 1919 (Hobsbawm, Age of Extremes). This paper
follows that belief and it allows us to pull our focus towards the time directly post war. It is in this
time that I will argue that the seeds of fascism were planted and that the unstable socio economic
landscape of Europe resulted in volatile nationalist politics in the 1920s and allowed for the resultant
fascism to take root and to grow at an

The Legal And Illegal Immigrants
m an immigrant, I moved to this country three years ago, but since I was born here I m considered a
legal immigrant, as many legal and illegal immigrants I believe that we help the economy of this
country. There are many immigrants in this country, they all come from all over the world. By no
means I want to assume that they have all had my experiences. In my case I m here on the pursuit of
new opportunities, in my mind, or in the way I was raised by my parents, and how am I supposed to
achieve my goals is exactly the way they work every day to support our household, is a discontented
mind, it is a hard working mind, a mind that always thinks it has to work harder, acquire more
knowledge. This is a generalization; they are plenty of exemptions after all it is good to be hard
working, it is good to want a better education for your children and to want a better way of living,
everyone has the right to pursuit their dreams. I will focus on how immigration helps United States as
compared to the mostly held view that it hurts America.
The United States has long served as a refuge for people running from politics, economy, natural
disasters, who seek to escape hunger, poverty, torture, and the oppression of their human rights in their
own countries. In my case my family and I moved here in search for better opportunities. Our country,
as a prosperous nation will be always attracting immigrants that are in search for a better life, such as
other developed countries like Canada

Management board decisions
International performance
Resources and capabilities
The two main independent variables that have to be included in the conceptual model are the
management board and the resources and capabilities of the company. It has been discussed in the
literature that two of the four factors that influence the performance of businesses in their
internationalization process are the management level and the control of resource capacity (Zeng,
Tam, Wan, 2009). A distinction between resources and capabilities must be made: resources are the
productive assets of the firm, while the capabilities are what the firm can do. It is the management
board that decides upon the acquisition, development, usage and control of resources and the
development of capabilities. Managers will select a set of resources from those available to the firm
that they believe are responsible for achieving their vision of the business, which will result in the
desired sustained competitive advantage of the company (Kunc, Morecroft, 2010). Furthermore, the
board will have to decide on other matters as well, which can alter the international performance of
the company, whether it be positive or negative.
Background
In the next sections we will elaborate further on the links described in the conceptual framework. An
extensive review of the literature on these subjects will be given, which will be used to support the
analysis

Hobbes believes that individuals are free to use their mental and physical capacities to do what is essential to conserve their lives in the state of nature (Cambridge, 2007). This right deems to permit individuals to even take the lives of others if such action is necessary to preserve their own lives. Hobbes philosophy on the state of human nature when faced with competition, desire for position and power is that it leads to situations of severe conflict and irrational decisions. The author who founded the Virgin Group of companies describes red tape as a hinderance to startup companies, as if its intended purpose was to limit or prevent success. The author uses his experience with founding companies to elaborate on the cautionary measures a startup must take as it grows to prevent the hierarchy of bureaucracy from taking over. When a kid this age is being taught it is all really observational, because they look to you for guidance and on how to do everything properly. They literally try to copy everything you do. Because of this oxygen is one of the most important requirements for the biodegradation of oil. Table 1 shows the list of some of the microorganisms which are involved in the bioremediation of oil contamination. Microbial Seeding Oil degrading microorganisms seem to be ubiquitous, with their number typically limited by the hydrocarbon supply (Namazi et al., 2008). Another approach is to add exogenous microorganisms with known degradative activities, either natural isolates or engineered (Narasimhan et al., 1983). Seeding involves the introduction of allochthonous microorganisms into the natural environment for the purpose of increasing the rate or extent, or both of biodegradation of pollutants. The rationale for this approach is that the autochthonous microorganisms may not be capable of degrading the wide range of potential substrates present in complex mixtures such as petroleum (Raghavan, 1998). Terrestrial ecosystems differ from aquatic ecosystems in that soils contain higher concentrations of organic and inorganic matter and generally, large number of microorganisms and are more variable in terms of physical and chemical conditions (Bossert et al., 1984). The Ego, which is concerned with the conscious, the moral, rational, and is self aware. The Super ego, the censor of the Id, which enforces the moral code of the Ego. • 12. Alienation By Henrik Ibsen And Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe... Alienation, through my personal views, is inevitable in the modern day. Our society has become so adapt to depending on the individual to conform to the demanding expectations of our society. What constitutes a life of alienation in my opinion is the inability to find meaning in the world and to become a cog in the machine of our society, conforming to what is expected from us based off of societal norms. This idea can best be highlighted through Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe s Faust, which is illustrated through the main character s alienation based on their inability to find meaning in their lives. Alienation in Ibsen s Hedda Gabler is based particularly on personal alienation highlighted through the main character Hedda. Hedda is the perfect representation of an alienated individual asserted against a conventional society. Ibsen focuses particularly on the ownership of Hedda Gabler, from the ownership of her father into the hands of George Tesman, to see Hedda to never be in complete ownership of herself until she takes the matters into her own hands and claims her own life by committing suicide at the end of the play. She is lost in a world where she no longer has anyone, beside herself and her pistols, which she continually shoots off as these pistols can be seen to dramatize Hedda s disconnect from the world and the frustrations she feels towards it. One example of this is when playing football 10 years ago if we got a concussion we sat out for an hour and then jumped back into practice unless we were throwing up with a class III concussion. • 22. King Henry V As The Mirror Of All Christian Kings In this week s first lecture we opened by watching the prologue from a production of Henry V. We discussed how this plays setting is that of some years after Henry IV. The present king Henry is the matured prince Hal from the last story. Shakespeare referred to King Henry V as the mirror of all Christian kings, as he is a reflection of what Christian kings should be. We then talked about the essence of how this grand type of story could be effectively performed in a small wooden theater. We talked about the bond between the author, actors, and audience that exists in the theater. We also talked about the text of the prologue in which the chorus simply asks the audience to use their imaginations by requesting that they suspend disbelief. In this the Chorus essentially pleads with the audience to view the representations presented to them as what they are intended more than what they are. For this to be effective the triple bond comes into play, the writing, acting and audience participation are all required to properly appreciate the story as it was intended. We will use two approaches to look at this play, the first is as a Christian hero. We mentioned how Henry V was an embodiment of the symbols of the lion, fox, and pelican. The first scene after the prologue includes two cardinals praising the king for his great qualities. We began looking at some of the representations of Henry V as the fox symbol embodying the qualities of justice, wisdom, and diplomacy. We watched ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Persuasive Essay On Bullying When Will it Stop? What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school each day because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a major problem in schools for far too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they deserve, which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school. The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that they won t be caught and that bullying isn t a huge deal, but it is. Bullying causes students to not go to school, to feel alone, and to leave their school feeling worthless. If the bully were to be suspended, he/she would learn quickly that what they are doing is wrong in so many ways. They will realize that bullying can be the reason they don t get into their dream school or do something they love. On the other hand, victims of bullying don t come forward and voice that the have been taunted, teased, and tormented because they don t think the school will help them. 67 percent of students feel that their school doesn t hear about their bullying and doesn t do anything that will prevent it (Soard). A great number of bullies in schools go unnoticed because of this which will in turn, make them continue to do these hurtful things. Punishments that bullies receive are not harsh enough and need to be reconsidered if we want a change in our lives. Bullies not getting punished leads more students to get involved in these horrible acts due to peer pressure. Students feel like they need to bully to be popular or because everyone else does it. They don t realize that bullying other kids makes you look worse and can drive that student to never come back to school or do something even worse. If the students who started the bullying were caught and suspended, less students would continue the bullying. They would see the consequences that a bully got and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yet it s how we let those experiences impact us individually that makes us each unique. An experience in my life that changed how I acted, thought, and felt was the first time I volunteered at my church during their summer scamp sessions. The scamp sessions aimed to make the lessons correlate to things the kids would do during summer camps. Serving at one of these session allowed the year round volunteers to continue serving if they wanted, but also have the ability to take a vacation and enjoy the church s service. Although life offers a multitude of life changing experiences, serving at Mecklenburg Community Church for the first time was greatest experience because I gained connections in my community, learned strong leadership skills and gained a desire to serve others first. It all began when I attended my first scamp session and I had several opportunities for jobs outside of the church over the summer and translating into the school year. The first time I served at Meck I was able to meet and be introduced to three families at the church who later reached out to me for weekly opportunities to work with their kids. Today, remnants can still be found that tell the history of the land, and of its inhabitants; many of these remnants, however, have been destroyed over time. The Bamiyan Valley in Afghanistan has a rich and complicated history that continues up to the present day. The residents of Bamiyan live neighboring a wall of cliffs, speckled with caves. Bordering the city on each side, two abandoned niches are carved into the cliff face, each towering over 100 meters. These great niches once held two Buddha statues that looked out over the Bamiyan Valley, but now stand empty. Once a witness to the history of the area, these Buddhas were destroyed in 2001 when the Taliban, a terrorist group, destroyed them due to their religious imagery. Since their destruction, the international community has risen up in protest, and endless discussions on its reconstruction have been hashed out as further studies are done on the remains. The interaction with religious ideology complicates and stigmatizes the situation, causing many discussions to go nowhere. The Bamiyan Buddhas hold significant cultural value, providing not only a religious sanctuary for many, but also by attracting travelers with their beauty. By leaving the niches empty, we risk the well being of the Bamiyan Valley, as well as a loss of a key part of history. The Causes Of Fascism Fascism is a widely debated topic, many theories are proposed regarding its origins, its appeal, the support it gained from big business and the cooperation it received from the Catholic Church. What I believe to be an inalienable truth is that early signs of fascism are firmly rooted in the First World War. To argue that the First World War caused fascism however is debatable, I will hold the belief that the First World War was a catalyst for fascism, that fascism as Roger Eatwell puts was embryonic rather than fully formed (R. Eatwell, Fascism: A History) and that the war created a unique environment and opportunity for the nurturing and growth of fascist ideologies. I will discuss what I believe to be the most potent factors that pushed the growth of fascism, the economic crisis of the 1920s and the subsequent weakening of western liberal democracies, the discontentment and chagrin of the Italian and German public towards victory and defeat respectively and most importantly, the threat of Communism and its political manipulation. Hobsbawm argues that, fascism did not exist before 1919 (Hobsbawm, Age of Extremes). This paper follows that belief and it allows us to pull our focus towards the time directly post war.
