Pursuing A Life At College
At the average age of eighteen, every student must decide what their future will entail. Some students
will choose to skip college to dive into ministry, military training, or work. Many students, however,
do decide to pursue a life at college. In the United States alone, there are approximately 5,300
different colleges/universities from which a student can choose. This substantial number of colleges
often leaves a student overwhelmed, confused, and stressed over finding their perfect college. As I
have researched, I have narrowed my perfect college choices down to two very different options,
Baylor University and Lee University. Baylor University was founded in 1844 by Reverend William
Milton Tryon and District Judge R.E.B. Baylor in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
564 of these students are international (3%). This is significantly larger than Lee University who has
4,575 with 251 international students (5%). Not only is there a drastic size difference, but also a
drastic cost difference. Baylor charges a total of $56,776 a year. This large total can be divided up into
six categories: tuition $36,360, various fees $4,038, room and board $11,140, books and supplies
$1,276, transportation $1,174, and personal expenses $2,788. Lee is 48% cheaper coming in at a total
of $27,500. This cost can be divided into four categories: tuition $14,280, room and board $7,520,
books and supplies $1,200, and personal expenses $4,500. Accompanying the 16,787 students at
Baylor are 119 majors and 77 minors. Lee, on the other hand, has 105 majors and 52 minors. Although
both universities have similar options, Baylor has more of the basic college majors and minors. Lee,
however, has more specialized courses. For example, Lee offers four different options for Discipleship
Ministry major. Both Baylor and Lee are Christian universities who practice pursuing after Christ in
their college activities. Lee has chapel twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) with students being
required to attend 70% of the chapels per a semester. Most of Lee s chapels are simply worship led by
both students and well known artists, but they do often have speakers as well. Baylor has chapel twice
a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) and require students to attend

Classifying America s First Cars
When Henry Ford concocted America s first automobile in 1896, only the upper class was seen
simulating a vehicle. By the 1920 s, all classes began driving including teenagers. The controversy of
teenagers first car seems to have carried throughout the years. Although there s hundreds of types of
vehicles in America, the types teenagers drive may be categorized into specific groups. The best way
to classify an American teenager s first car is into three body types: sedans, coupe, and SUV s. Sedans,
which is a four door automobile, seem to be one of the safest types cars to date; therefore, numerous
parents of teenagers decide to purchase these as first cars for their children. In just this body type,
dozens of different brands exist: Honda, Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet. Being somewhat small and
simple catch the eye of many parents because they want an affordible yet reliable car for their
teengaers. A good example of teenagers first sedan is the Honda Accord, which is one of America s
top safety picks. The Accord is rated in the top ten in the Driver Magazine. It is also unique because it
is available in two different body styles, Sedan and Coupe.
Coupes have a smaller variety of choices to choose from, but when parents choose this for their ...

Father Jack Flaherty Analysis
A Saint in the Making: Father Jack Flaherty
Priests can help you navigate your way through life because God s voice shines through them. Father
Jack Flaherty is one of the most compassionate and driven priest I have ever met. He goes from parish
to parish spreading God s love to everyone in need and goes above and beyond in making sure that
everyone feels welcomed wherever they go. Due to his large time commitment, dedication to God and
his parishioners, and his exemplary exhibition of heroic qualities, Father Jack is a hero
One important aspect of Father Jack s life that makes him a hero is the large amount of time he
commits to being a priest. Father Jack knew his calling was the priesthood, but he had no idea how
much schooling went into it. According to Study.com, when becoming a priest men must go through
three specific steps. First, they must earn a bachelor s degree in the fields of either philosophy,
religious studies, or English ( Become a Catholic Priest: Step by Step Career Guide ). Then after
careful reflection on their vocation, they need to study at a seminary, classes that prepare them for the
priesthood by practicing preaching or studying church history by using their critical thinking skills (

Analysis OfThe Monkey s Pockets, And The Masque Of Red Death
As stated so eloquently by Rascal Flatts in their hit song Life is a Highway , Life is a highway and I
wanna ride it all night long. life is a never ending cycle of riding forward in life and facing the truths
that face people along the way. To, quote, Ride it all night long, is to face the realities of life and revel
in the truths it gives one until their death. However, when someone tries to hide from what is truly in
front of them, disastrous consequences can occur. In the short stories The Monkey s Paw, by W.W.
Jacobs, Contents of a Dead Man s Pockets, by Jack Finney, and The Masque of Red Death, by Edgar
Allen Poe, there is one common theme that ties them together. Despite the fact the these stories are all
very far apart, ranging in time periods, characters and styles of storytelling, there is still the theme
connecting them. The one common theme that connects these stories is one must not hide from reality,
but face their own problems, less they face dire consequences. First of all, there was the story, The
Monkey s Paw, by W.W. Jacobs. The Whites were the perfect family, a father, mother, and son. The
did not have much, but they were content with their lives. They accepted the reality they were in. That
did not last. One day they received a gift from a friend, the Sergeant Major, that could bend reality. Or
at least, it seemed to. The gift was a paw, said to grant three wishes. As stated in the story, It had a
spell put on it by an old

A Modest Proposal To Visit
The purpose of this letter is to ask that you read the enclosed proposal about putting bike lanes in the
City of Manhattan. Currently, in the City of Manhattan doesn t have enough bike lanes in town where
bicyclists can ride safely on the road.
While the bike lanes might not currently have high traffic, adding more will increase the use of the
current ones. It is a challenge as a bicyclist when bike lanes are not on every road throughout the city.
For example, when bicyclists ride down or up Casement Road and on Westwood Rd meets with Fort
Riley Blvd, the road starts off wide enough for both a car and a bicyclist. The lane shrinks, so there s
only room for a car, which leaves bicyclist in an awkward position with nowhere to go since bikes
shouldn t be on the sidewalks. When bicyclists ride around Manhattan, they know how much it gets
them moving and ready to tackle a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And having bike lanes also keeps citizens from the nearby neighborhood from riding on the sidewalks,
which is illegal for them to ride on.
Given that at least half of the bicyclists never use the bike paths, I am advocating for bike lanes,
particularly on the uphill side of the road. Simply adding 2 feet of pavement and minimizing the ditch
alongside the road will both maximize bicycle safety and minimize cost. I believe that the bike lane is
needed to keep them safe. In the winter, the bike lane will help keep cars from getting stuck in the
ditch after snowstorms when it is virtually impossible to tell where the road ends and the ditch begins.
When there are more bikes around, people drive safe and when there are more bikes around, people
drive safer and are aware of them. The more bicyclists we see, the safer the roads are going to be for
them. I think Manhattan should be doing everything it can to encourage people to bike safe and make
the city a safer place to bike

Tetra Compare And Contrast
Tetra fish are one of the most easily available groups of fish in the hobby. There are many types of
tetra fish, and some are perfect for newcomers to fishkeeping. Other species are much more
challenging, and best avoided unless you ve kept tetras before.
Choosing The Best Tetras
Before you buy any tetra, know this: tetras are schooling fish. This means they prefer to be kept in a
group. Most species of tetras are happiest in groups of six or more of their own kind. Since you are
buying multiple fish, it is even more important to check the size the tetras you want will grow to. Six
six inch bucktoothed tetras will need a lot more room than six 1.2 1.5 inch Neon Tetras.
It is also good to know that most tetras are happiest in somewhat acidic water, although water
requirements vary greatly by species. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neon tetras used to have an excellent reputation for hardiness, but now the vast majority of them are
mass bred in the far east with no attention paid to health or quality. This means that the Neon Tetras
you buy now are often carrying this parasite when you buy them and die quickly. If you can get
disease free Neons, they are great fish, but Neons with this disease aren t worth buying no matter how
low the price. I wouldn t knowingly take Neons with this disease if they were free.
Neon Tetras are notoriously susceptible, but danios, cichlids, and most charachins can be susceptible
to Neon Tetra disease as well.
The most common recognizable symptom of Neon Tetra disease, Pleistophora hyphessobryconis, is a
loss of coloration with pale or white patches of skin, most commonly below the dorsal fish. There are
also other symptoms that include spinal curvature, emaciation, fin deterioration and erratic swimming.
Do not buy any fish that shows these signs!
Just to make life more complicated, there is a False Neon Tetra disease that shows many of the same
symptoms. This is a bacterial infection that can be cured by

Body Armor
istory
The history of body armor is a long one. Armor supposedly dates back to before recorded history with
primitive, or tribal, warriors using leather or animal skins to protect themselves. Whether it be
protecting themselves from animals they were hunting or other humans, body armor has been an
important part of protection for civilization for many years. Many armor in history has used linens,
leathers or animal hides, and a variety of metals. In the 11th century bce, Chinese warriors wore
armour made of five to seven layers of rhinoceros skin, and ox hides were similarly used by the
Mongols in the 13th century ce. Fabric armour too has a long history, with thick, multilayered linen
cuirasses (armour covering the body from neck to waist) worn by the Greek heavy infantry of the 5th
century bce and quilted linen coats worn in northern India until the 19th century. (Mansoor, 2015)
Body armor has changed throughout the years to accommodate for advancements of weapons used in
combat, or dangers faced. In the 14th century chain mail was a widely adopted body armor. Chain
mail was made of chain links woven together in an over shirt. It was relatively impervious to slashing
strokes from a weapon, that s why it was used so widely. It could ... Show more content on

Protest broke out in Libya which is the second largest city, Benghazi, to protest freedom, civil rights

From Sandwich Shop to Subway
Subway Report
Subway was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck. The duo opened their first sandwich
shop when DeLuca was only seventeen years old. DeLuca s childhood dream was to become a
prominent doctor. Therefore, he needed to find a way to pay for his medical career. On the other hand,
Peter Buck was a family friend who offered DeLuca the possibility to become business partners. Their
first store was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was called, Pete s Super Submarines. They sold
over three hundred sandwiches on the opening day. The price range for each sandwich was between
forty nine to sixty nine cents. Although they struggled for couple of years they were optimistic. Their
goal at that time was to open over thirty stores in the next ten years. The pair wanted to create a
success image. Later, Fred learned that good customer service, quality food and low prices were
important to stay in business for a long time.
In 1968, the little submarine shop changed their name to the trademark Subway. They made seven
thousand dollars only on that year. However, the duo was too ambitious to settle with that. It was in
1974, and after sixteen stores in Wallingford, Connecticut that Subway grew into a franchise. In this
way, becoming the first franchise in the United States. The mindset of DeLuca and Buck was to allow
the now chain brand, to expand countrywide. But at this point they fell half way short on their original
goal ten years ago. This

Much Ado About Nothing Love
Throughout much of Shakespearean Literature there is almost always the recurring theme of love,
however this love is not always in its purest form. Instead, characters often find themselves in love at
first sight; then quickly falling out of love or finding out they never truly loved the other person. In
Shakespeare s, Much Ado About Nothing, we see Shakespeare play heavily on the idea of love at first
sight so significantly that it influences the play in its entirety. Focusing on the characters of Claudio
and Hero in the play, we see the impulse of love come to fruition almost instantaneously. In the
beginning of play, Claudio gazes on Hero only to be struck with cupid s arrow meaning his love for
her is based purely upon superficial looks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From Hero s point of view she is quite fickle. Before even learning that Claudio is in love with her she
dances with Don Pedro who unbeknownst to her is trying to woo her in hopes she will be with
Claudio. However, To Hero she believes that Don pedro is really trying to woo her for himself. Even
though Hero had been explicitly told by her father that if the prince asks to be with you then you say
yes, it is most likely that she would have been with him regardless due to his position of power. This
speaks volumes about the type of person she is due to it not being based on love, but rather position.
After finding out that it is really Claudio who wants her she then shifts her attention to him. The most
unusual part is when they are presented to each other she says nothing and only kisses him, this pushes
forth the idea that she is not truly marrying for love but for a continuation of social status. Given the
present context one could discern that perhaps Hero is more in love with the idea of being in love.
Now shifting focus onto Claudio, he like hero is also volatile in the way he loves. His notion of love is
more of a type of property and on receiving Hero replies ...Lady, as you are mine, I am yours. I give
myself for you and dote upon the exchange. (Much Ado About Nothing, 2.1. 293 295) Through this
quote from the play it is without difficulty for one to distinguish that Claudio is doting on the idea of
being in love with Hero. He has been so focused on her aesthetic the whole time, he does not know
anything about besides that she is visually pleasing to

Prevention Of Lyme Disease Vaccine
Prevention
Lyme disease has existed on the planet for thousands of years. The best way to prevent Lyme disease
is by covering up, use insect repellents, clear yard of brush and leaves, check yourself and children for
ticks, don t assume you re immune; you can get Lyme disease more than once, and remove ticks with
tweezers as soon as possible. [1] According to the CDC the Lyme disease vaccine s production was

In general, adult ticks are approximately the size of a sesame seed and nymphal ticks are

One method of Secondary prevention is to perform daily tick checks especially after being outdoors,
even in your own yard. Search your entire body for ticks when you return from an area that may have
ticks. Use a hand held or full length mirror to view all parts of your body and remove any tick you
find. Take special care to check these parts of your body and your child s body for ticks: under the
arms, in and around the ears, inside the belly button, back of the knees, in and around all head and
body hair, between the legs, around the waist. It is also important to check clothes and pets carefully
and remove any ticks that are found. Place clothes into a dryer on high heat to kill ticks. [5]
It is important to remove any attached ticks quickly and correctly with fine tipped tweezers as soon as
you notice it. The CDC reports that if a tick has been attached to your skin for less than 24 hours, your
chances of contacting Lyme disease are extremely small; however ticks carry other diseases which
may be transmitted more quickly. [6]
After a bite over the next couple of weeks, you should watch for signs or symptoms of Lyme disease
such as rash or fever. See a healthcare provider if you have signs or symptoms as soon as possible.
Many times people do not know they have been bit. It is important to always be alert for fever or rash.

The Potential Rebound Of Hemp
The Potential Rebound of Hemp in Agriculture
Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is an ancient crop, and one of the oldest domesticated plants known to
man, traditionally valued for its tough bast fibres as well as its medicinal properties. Though it is
related to commonly known marijuana, typically ingested to achieve a high in the user, hemp has
extremely low concentrations of the active chemical in marijuana, THC, and is thus not deserving of
the cultivation ban it has endured as a result of this relation. Hemp has in the past been used widely for
textiles and cordage as well as paper, with almost all historically significant documents printed on
hemp paper. With the invention of techniques for creating paper from tree pulp, and the powerful ...

When the male plants are removed from growth sites, females cannot be pollinated and continue to
produce resinous flowers. These flowers can then be harvested, dried and cured, and are valued for
their medicinal properties. If the male plants are allowed to remain in fields then this flowering period
is relatively short, with extremely low quantities of THC produced. These plants then produce large
amounts of seed and greater volumes of fibre, and are commonly referred to as hemp. Hemp plants are
hardy and drought resistant, reaching up to five metres tall, with taproots penetrating up to one metre
into the soil, and have dense canopies of leaves, which once established grow rapidly and shade out
competing weeds, making the use of herbicides unnecessary. Hemp has a natural insecticide called
terpene as well, which is responsible for the distinct smell which emanates from the plants and is
believed to repel insects (Benhaim, P. 2005). Hemp of the past was grown primarily for its stalk,
consisting of both fibre and core, which is also known as shiv. These fibres are among the strongest in
the natural world, with traditional nautical uses as cordage, canvas and clothing, as well as paper. The
shiv, with its insulative and absorbent properties was used primarily as animal bedding. In more recent
times, hemps shivs have also been used as building materials, with applications in anything from

My Favorite Festival
No matter which country you live in, festivals are unavoidable. For as long as people have lived
together in communities, it seems we have had a desire to celebrate together as a group. Festival
celebrations take place in all cultures, all over the globe and for lots of different reasons. Religion,
music, food all these and more have inspired festivals new and old. Whether you love culture, or you
re just looking to party, there s a festival out there for everyone. Festival is a party and party really isn
t much of a party without food and drink, and people have been celebrating with delicious grub for
centuries. Closely tied to the seasons, many food based festivals traditionally take place at harvest
time, when farmers reap their crops and there is plenty of food to share. And this lead to one of my
favorite festival La Tomatina; a festival that has been on my bucket list for quite sometimes. I want to

Cultural And Political Causes Of The Darfur Genocide In Sudan
INTRODUCTION
Genocide is defined as the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.
The Darfur Genocide refers to the current mass slaughter and rape of men, women, and children in
Western Sudan (Mitchell Hamline School of Law). Not only are these atrocities happening, but the
Darfurians are being force from their land and into refugee camps, mainly in the country Chad, but
also other countries like Ethiopia or Kenya. Darfur genocide causes can be found both culturally and
politically. The cultural and political causes come from the same source of that being an
underdeveloped country with no effective government protecting the rights of the Darfurians.
Darfurians were violently pushed around, physically and mentally, with the western world not

Spices Of Indian Food
Aromatic spices are quintessential in Indian cuisine. These spices are what imparts the cuisine an
overwhelming and lingering essence that gives it a very distinctive identity. The delicate flavors,
smell, taste, and color of the spices in these Indian dishes has what has attracted people since eternity.
Spices can be defined as strongly flavored or aromatic substances that is commonly used as a
condiment to flavor dishes. Western cuisine, like the Mexican or the Italian cuisine also use spices in
their dishes. However, most of these cuisines use spices in their basic way which means that it is
usually one spice that stands out or gives the dish its unique taste even if it is being used with another
herb or other spices. Indian cooking, on the other hand, uses multiple types of spices (sometimes up to
40) in varying combinations to come up with a variety of taste, each different from the ... Show more

dive into Indian cooking revealed a complete different picture. After reviewing some 2500 regional
recipes, research found that at the molecular level, Indian food did go against the basic science of food
pairing. This meant that the cuisine put together different spices that were in contrast at their
molecular levels and yet managed to create a brilliant, and unique taste. It was like each dish

Tea, coffee and cola are three major beverages widely consumed in the world. Tea was found during
the early of Chinese civilizations, the use of tea is not tight as a beverages but its use for medicine too
(Mckay Blumberg, 2002). Tea is a beverage made from the young leaves of a plant Camellia Sinensi

countries may have different appearance, aroma, and flavor characteristic. In general, tea can

Evaluating The Logistics Of Loans And Debt- Related Fees
Rutherford B. Hayes once said, let every man, every corporation, and especially let every village,
town, and city, every county and State, get out of debt and keep out of debt. It is the debtor that is
ruined by hard times. (Hayes 56). Although students seek to succeed in life and choose to further their
education, the cost of colleges and universities almost seem to be exorbitant. The emotional toll of
worrying about how the various expenses will be paid and covered for makes it very onerous for one
to pay attention in class. Society says, we want our students to attend college, we will even provide a
small stipend. The money that students are given is not nearly enough to pay even half expenses that
they are responsible for. Scholars all over should be informed about the logistics of loans and debt
related fees in order to alleviate financial stress that comes with paying back loans. Loans are intended
to be governmental assistance to the various individuals that not only display financial need, but to
those who qualify as well. There are many different types of loans such as: student, mortgage, auto,
personal, business, retirement, equity and many others that are available to individuals in need. Not a
lot of people will inform individuals that the interest rate is high and how loans can affect ones credit
score. According to statistics, the most popular loans taken out are student loans and business loans.

Comparing Beowulf To The Greek Culture
Greek literature portrays many great heroes with many different traits and values. I would like to
compare the Anglo Saxon culture represented by Beowulf to the Greek culture portrayed by Achilles.
Both men show many values, but they seem to show those values with different traits. These stories
have different battles between the heroes and their enemies, this makes a big difference in the
response of these men. Beowulf shows great bravery towards his enemies and problems placed in
front of him. He also likes to help other people such as Hrothgar without any expected reimbursement.
Beowulf States My people have said, the wisest, most knowing and best of them, that my duty was to
go to the Danes Great king (Beowulf 149 151). This shows Beowulf does not expect anything for his
good deed. He simply dose what he is told, with great bravery and a good plan. ... Show more content

Where Beowulf Fights for others and keeps a calm and collective mind he doesn t let emotion effect
his decisions. Achilles is more self centered; he doses wish to avenge his cousin s death he lets
emotion get in the way of the correct decision. This is described with the quote, I must reject this life,
my heart tells me, reject the world of men, if Hector does not feel my battering spear tear the life out
of him, making him pay in his own blood for the slaughter of Patroclus (The Iliad 26 30). This
statement alone represents Achilles passion for revenge. Also how he allows his anger the drive his
decisions. In the Excerpt after line 71 in the Iliad it states Achilles chases Hector around the walls of
his Kingdome three times just to avenge Patroclus. This is a large amount a bravery Achilles shows by
facing death to defile his best man s killer. This is a clear similarity of great bravery by both heroes.

Evolution Of Public Administration Approaches
Evolution of Public Administration Approaches
The roots of public administration can be traced back to 400 B.C. when Plato developed the concept
of democracy, but more recently, economist Fredric W. Taylor in early 1900s developed the need for
budgets, cooperation between labor and management in order to become more effective (Gueguen,
2002). His concepts of scientific management, also known as Taylorism, promoted job optimization
and simplification in order to increase productivity. These scientific management principles were
further explored by German sociologist, philosopher, political economist Max Weber. Weber
advocated various concepts such as the development of standardized procedures with a clear chain of

Other than hierarchy and meritocracy (Robinson, 2015), the old public administration had many
unique features. Those features included a centralized control with set rules and guidelines, separating
policymaking from implementation, and employed a categorized organizational arrangement
(Osborne, 2006). Few other central features of this model were, the separation between politics and
politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other, resources belong to the
organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public involvement with administrators
responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt Denhardt, 2015).
Old public administration played an important role in managing budgets and human resources in an
organization by targeting efficiency and effectiveness. These goals were achieved by first defining
specialized roles within organizations. These roles were then filled by qualified people who were
recruited based on merits. People were hired only if they meet all the required qualifications for the
job. The dominance of old public administration theory is still visible in today s recruitment and hiring
process. Whenever a new job opening is posted on Alameda County s website, there is always a
section specifying a list of qualifications. Applicants must meet those qualifications in order to qualify
for the interview. Every role in the organization was clearly defined with fixed duties and

homophobic slurs used in the locker room and on the field, granted, Ryan said that even in day to day
life he never felt harmed or hurt by homophobic slurs. However, it is still a major problem in sports.
89 percent of homosexuals heard or felt targeted by homosexual slurs, according to the study. In my

slurs could be excessive, he aimed responsibility of the needed culture change on the coaching staff.

Allegory And Death In The Gray Man By Sarah Orne Jewett
The Gray Man is a short story written by an American author named Sarah Orne Jewett who is a short
story writer. The story is set in an area around Mt. Agamenticus which is a wooden area located in
Southern Maine, and it portrays an important message about life. This is shown through the use of
allegory and personification, which includes giving personal attributes or characteristics to inanimate
objects. The allegorical theme is simply that the Gray Man, represents death. Because of him, the
townspeople will learn that the very reason life has meaning is because it eventually ends. Sarah Orne

actions are designed to teach mankind. People often use him as an advisor on how to live life, yet he is

the environment we try to source our suppliers locally and minimise the amount of deliveries we have

In order to obtain resources we must ensure that we go to an appropriate supplier which has been

Questioning The Memoirs Of A Geisha
The word stereotype is today almost always a term of abuse. This stems from the wholly justified
objections of various groups in recent years, blacks, women and gays, in particular to the ways in
which they find themselves stereotyped in the mass media and in everyday speech. (Dyer, 1993) It has
been ages that Americans media have defined the Asian images to around the whole world. Many of
them that shaped that image usually have little or no understanding of the asian culture, its people and
its countries, hence the stereotype. Traditionally, the mass media in Hollywood does not have a
positive portrayer of the minority community, much less the Asians. It may due to the inevitable fact
of the consequences of globalisation and immigration, that it may seems as though they have stolen
away opportunities and the locals have to thus compete and also share their native country as well as
resources. In the postmodern world we become increasingly aware that the objects about which we

Literary Analysis Of Out-Out, By Robert Frost
The poem, Out Out , by Robert Frost, is a rather peculiar poem that primarily may be tricky to
understand. Nonetheless, it is intriguing and full of key examples of complex poetic terms,
vocabulary, and structure. A key part of any literary work, the purpose, can be drawn from Out Out ,
that being to show that death calls to many people at any given time, and that no one dwells on the
death of people or cares about others at all, and should. The first part of the purpose of the poem Out
Out is to show that death calls to many people at any time. Evidence for this can be easily located on
lines 1, 7, and 8 of the poem, where it says, The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard... the saw
snarled and rattled snarled and rattled As it ran light, or had to bear a load. (Frost 1, 7, and 8). This bit
from the poem shows a repetition pattern that the buzz saw is being worked hard and is under stress,
and rattling is a sign that something isn t working right in any tool. This could allude or lead up to a
deadly accident, key word being dead(death), showing that the saw could be an allusion to a death, or
the calling of death. More evidence can be seen on lines 15 20, and 31 32 where it says, ... To tell them
Supper. At the word, the saw As if it meant to prove saws knew what supper meant, Leaped out at the
boy s hand, or seemed to leap He must have given the hand... Neither refused the meeting... Half in

Informative Essay On Bed Bugs
Does My Bed Have Bed Bugs?
Bed bugs are small insects that take up residence in soft furnishings, particularly mattresses. Bed bugs
feed on the blood of warm blooded animals, and human hosts can suffer an allergic reaction. If you
suspect that you have bed bugs in your home, it is crucial that you find and eradicate them before they
reproduce and spread.
What are bed bugs
Bed bugs are small, non flying insects that feed exclusively on the blood of warm blooded animals
making humans the perfect hosts. Most bed bugs will feed while their host is asleep. While feeding,
the bed bug will inject a small amount of saliva into the host s skin. Hosts can develop a sensitivity to
bed bug saliva over time, and this can eventually result in an intense allergic reaction. Bed bugs feed
every five to ten days, and a well fed bug can live for six to nine months. However, bed bugs can
survive in a dormant state for over a year without food. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Signs of bed bugs
The first sign of bed bugs is usually a bite. A bed bug bite can take between a couple of hours and two
weeks to appear. Unlike flea bites, these bites do not have a red centre, and will usually appear in a
row of two or three. Bites can become red and swollen, and may be itchy. Although bites do not
require medical treatment, steroid creams and oral anti histamines can alleviate symptoms.
Adult bed bugs, hatchlings and eggs are all visible to the naked eye. Adult bed bugs are about 5mm to

In today s day and age, everyone is concerned about the environment. Our society is increasingly
encouraged to go green, to do our part in making the world a cleaner, more eco friendly place. Green
marketing is one major strategy being used to promote such efforts, but is it effective? There is some
debate about this concept, including the history of green marketing, the problems with green
marketing so far, the effectiveness of marketing schemes like Sunchips and Toyota, and the strategies
that could be used to increase the ability of green marketing. While protecting our planet is a noble

attempting to make its product more environmentally friendly, and Volkswagen is taking even bigger
strides with its movement, The Fun Theory, which encourages customers to be green while making the

have shed light on being friendly to our planet, the fact remains that the large portion of our
population simply is not embracing it. One major problem as far as companies using green marketing
and why it isn t working is that the relatively vague definition of green marketing leaves a lot of room
for loopholes. Green marketing, by simply being defined as the marketing of products that are
assumed to be environmentally safe, allows companies to take advantage of this idea even if their

Kansas can place offenders who finish their jail sentence in mental institutions instead of allowing
them to go free. The Supreme Court of the United States upheld this law (Internet: Reynolds). This
seems ridiculous to me, if these people need to be punished more, stiffen their jail time. If they could
not be sentenced to a life sentence for their crime, they should not serve a life term. These sex
offender registries are equivalent to life sentences. This problem reaches West Virginians as well, if on
a lower scale. Kanawha County became the first West Virginia county to publish a sex offender
registry when they did so in September. Lucia Moses of the Herald Dispatch reports that on November
12, Cabell County became the second (Moses 1 C). Twenty four sex offenders, who must register for

Still, federal law mandates that every state keep a sex offender register. They do not need to publish
them. I think that the register should be in the hands of the police, and, in the case of child molesters,
the board of education as well. The publishing of these registers would, most likely, cause a
detrimental effect within the community. Once a community knows that a sex offender lives in the

If we are looking to fill the position of a Food and Beverage Manager it would be particularly smart to
recruit from the inside. We think it would be in the company s best interest to recruit from the inside
because in the restaurant industry is hard to get thrown into the environment and dynamic when you
are on the outside. When recruiting internally it is easiest to let employees know there is a job opening
by word of mouth. We think it is important to send a notice out to all employees to ensure they all
have a fair opportunity to apply for the position if they feel fit. This is a good idea to recruit internally
because it shows everyone inside the company that they can move forward and advance if they meet
the standards. It would be typical for an assistant manager to advance into the position of an active
manager. When we are recruiting internally it is important to keep employees feelings in check.
Jealousy could arise and it has to be clear that everyone has a chance to apply for the position, but not
everyone is as qualified as we need them to be. Some of the criteria we need for this position is
experience, problem solving skills, and knowledge of profit and loss statements. ServSafe
certifications with alcohol and food safety would be helpful. It is also important to be educated with
CPR. Among safety concerns it is important to have physical qualifications for the job. These
qualifications include being able to lift at least 50 pounds, and being able to be on feet for around 12
or more hours a day. This job can be very demanding at times. It might be unusual for some of these

The Importance Of Puritan Values In American Society
The Puritan values, constructed in the seventeenth century, originated from a movement to reform the
Church of England. This particular movement still plays a vital role in the American society
influencing the social, ethical, and theological ideas of modern day citizens. These ideas that were put
forth were the starting point for the American culture offering new ideas of how to think and how to
live. The writers and thinkers of John Winthrop, Arthur Miller, and Benjamin Franklin make it

hard work and a self reliant lifestyle still resonate in the hearts of many American individuals
hundreds of years after the birth of this Puritan lifestyle. Although there many examples of America
still following the values of a Puritan culture, the tenet in which America falls short is the practice of
living a holy life: piety. The value and importance of piety is shown thorough Arthur Miller s The
Crucible where a man named John Proctor goes from an honorable man to a shunned one when he is
found guilty of adultery and not knowing his 10 holy commandments. After his actions were revealed,
his name was blackened and he was no longer the respectable man the town once thought he was
(Miller 1171, 1231). Today, Americans get divorces, indulge in premarital sex, cheat, steal,

up cannot measure up to a virtual employee s level of quality and always prove to be expensive in the
long run, though they might seem to be cheaper at first glance. Also, freelancers work for multiple
clients simultaneously which affects the quality of the work that they do. The Web designer who
works with you from our office is, for all practical purposes, no different than your locally

Some students will choose to skip college to dive into ministry, military training, or work. Many students, however, do decide to pursue a life at college. In the United States alone, there are approximately 5,300 different colleges/universities from which a student can choose. This substantial number of colleges often leaves a student overwhelmed, confused, and stressed over finding their perfect college. As I have researched, I have narrowed my perfect college choices down to two very different options, Baylor University and Lee University. Although both universities have similar options, Baylor has more of the basic college majors and minors. Lee, however, has more specialized courses. For example, Lee offers four different options for Discipleship Ministry major. Both Baylor and Lee are Christian universities who practice pursuing after Christ in their college activities. Lee has chapel twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) with students being required to attend 70% of the chapels per a semester. Most of Lee s chapels are simply worship led by both students and well known artists, but they do often have speakers as well. • 5. Analysis OfThe Monkey s Pockets, And The Masque Of Red Death As stated so eloquently by Rascal Flatts in their hit song Life is a Highway , Life is a highway and I wanna ride it all night long. life is a never ending cycle of riding forward in life and facing the truths that face people along the way. To, quote, Ride it all night long, is to face the realities of life and revel in the truths it gives one until their death. However, when someone tries to hide from what is truly in front of them, disastrous consequences can occur. In the short stories The Monkey s Paw, by W.W. Jacobs, Contents of a Dead Man s Pockets, by Jack Finney, and The Masque of Red Death, by Edgar Allen Poe, there is one common theme that ties them together. Despite the fact the these stories are all very far apart, ranging in time periods, characters and styles of storytelling, there is still the theme connecting them. The one common theme that connects these stories is one must not hide from reality, but face their own problems, less they face dire consequences. First of all, there was the story, The Monkey s Paw, by W.W. Jacobs. The Whites were the perfect family, a father, mother, and son. The did not have much, but they were content with their lives. They accepted the reality they were in. That did not last. One day they received a gift from a friend, the Sergeant Major, that could bend reality. Or at least, it seemed to. • 7. A Modest Proposal To Visit The purpose of this letter is to ask that you read the enclosed proposal about putting bike lanes in the City of Manhattan. Currently, in the City of Manhattan doesn t have enough bike lanes in town where bicyclists can ride safely on the road. While the bike lanes might not currently have high traffic, adding more will increase the use of the current ones. It is a challenge as a bicyclist when bike lanes are not on every road throughout the city. For example, when bicyclists ride down or up Casement Road and on Westwood Rd meets with Fort Riley Blvd, the road starts off wide enough for both a car and a bicyclist. The lane shrinks, so there s only room for a car, which leaves bicyclist in an awkward position with nowhere to go since bikes shouldn t be on the sidewalks. And having bike lanes also keeps citizens from the nearby neighborhood from riding on the sidewalks, which is illegal for them to ride on. Given that at least half of the bicyclists never use the bike paths, I am advocating for bike lanes, particularly on the uphill side of the road. Simply adding 2 feet of pavement and minimizing the ditch alongside the road will both maximize bicycle safety and minimize cost. I believe that the bike lane is needed to keep them safe. In the winter, the bike lane will help keep cars from getting stuck in the ditch after snowstorms when it is virtually impossible to tell where the road ends and the ditch begins. When there are more bikes around, people drive safe and when there are more bikes around, people drive safer and are aware of them. The more bicyclists we see, the safer the roads are going to be for them. I think Manhattan should be doing everything it can to encourage people to bike safe and make the city a safer place to bike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Armor supposedly dates back to before recorded history with primitive, or tribal, warriors using leather or animal skins to protect themselves. Whether it be protecting themselves from animals they were hunting or other humans, body armor has been an important part of protection for civilization for many years. Many armor in history has used linens, leathers or animal hides, and a variety of metals. In the 11th century bce, Chinese warriors wore armour made of five to seven layers of rhinoceros skin, and ox hides were similarly used by the Mongols in the 13th century ce. Fabric armour too has a long history, with thick, multilayered linen cuirasses (armour covering the body from neck to waist) worn by the Greek heavy infantry of the 5th century bce and quilted linen coats worn in northern India until the 19th century. Instead, characters often find themselves in love at first sight; then quickly falling out of love or finding out they never truly loved the other person. In Shakespeare s, Much Ado About Nothing, we see Shakespeare play heavily on the idea of love at first sight so significantly that it influences the play in its entirety. Focusing on the characters of Claudio and Hero in the play, we see the impulse of love come to fruition almost instantaneously. In the beginning of play, Claudio gazes on Hero only to be struck with cupid s arrow meaning his love for her is based purely upon superficial looks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From Hero s point of view she is quite fickle. Before even learning that Claudio is in love with her she dances with Don Pedro who unbeknownst to her is trying to woo her in hopes she will be with Claudio. However, To Hero she believes that Don pedro is really trying to woo her for himself. Even though Hero had been explicitly told by her father that if the prince asks to be with you then you say yes, it is most likely that she would have been with him regardless due to his position of power. This speaks volumes about the type of person she is due to it not being based on love, but rather position. After finding out that it is really Claudio who wants her she then shifts her attention to him. The most unusual part is when they are presented to each other she says nothing and only kisses him, this pushes forth the idea that she is not truly marrying for love but for a continuation of social status. Given the present context one could discern that perhaps Hero is more in love with the idea of being in love. Now shifting focus onto Claudio, he like hero is also volatile in the way he loves. His notion of love is more of a type of property and on receiving Hero replies ...Lady, as you are mine, I am yours. I give myself for you and dote upon the exchange. (Much Ado About Nothing, 2.1. 293 295) Through this quote from the play it is without difficulty for one to distinguish that Claudio is doting on the idea of being in love with Hero. Hemp plants are hardy and drought resistant, reaching up to five metres tall, with taproots penetrating up to one metre into the soil, and have dense canopies of leaves, which once established grow rapidly and shade out competing weeds, making the use of herbicides unnecessary. Hemp has a natural insecticide called terpene as well, which is responsible for the distinct smell which emanates from the plants and is believed to repel insects (Benhaim, P. 2005). It is the debtor that is ruined by hard times. (Hayes 56). Although students seek to succeed in life and choose to further their education, the cost of colleges and universities almost seem to be exorbitant. The emotional toll of worrying about how the various expenses will be paid and covered for makes it very onerous for one to pay attention in class. Society says, we want our students to attend college, we will even provide a small stipend. The money that students are given is not nearly enough to pay even half expenses that they are responsible for. I would like to compare the Anglo Saxon culture represented by Beowulf to the Greek culture portrayed by Achilles. Both men show many values, but they seem to show those values with different traits. These stories have different battles between the heroes and their enemies, this makes a big difference in the response of these men. Beowulf shows great bravery towards his enemies and problems placed in front of him. He also likes to help other people such as Hrothgar without any expected reimbursement. This statement alone represents Achilles passion for revenge. Also how he allows his anger the drive his decisions. Few other central features of this model were, the separation between politics and politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other, resources belong to the organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public involvement with administrators responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt Denhardt, 2015). Old public administration played an important role in managing budgets and human resources in an organization by targeting efficiency and effectiveness. These goals were achieved by first defining specialized roles within organizations. These roles were then filled by qualified people who were recruited based on merits. • 33. Literary Analysis Of Out-Out, By Robert Frost The poem, Out Out , by Robert Frost, is a rather peculiar poem that primarily may be tricky to understand. Nonetheless, it is intriguing and full of key examples of complex poetic terms, vocabulary, and structure. A key part of any literary work, the purpose, can be drawn from Out Out , that being to show that death calls to many people at any given time, and that no one dwells on the death of people or cares about others at all, and should. The first part of the purpose of the poem Out Out is to show that death calls to many people at any time. Evidence for this can be easily located on lines 1, 7, and 8 of the poem, where it says, The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard... the saw snarled and rattled snarled and rattled As it ran light, or had to bear a load. (Frost 1, 7, and 8). This bit from the poem shows a repetition pattern that the buzz saw is being worked hard and is under stress, and rattling is a sign that something isn t working right in any tool. This could allude or lead up to a deadly accident, key word being dead(death), showing that the saw could be an allusion to a death, or the calling of death. More evidence can be seen on lines 15 20, and 31 32 where it says, ... To tell them Supper. This particular movement still plays a vital role in the American society influencing the social, ethical, and theological ideas of modern day citizens. These ideas that were put forth were the starting point for the American culture offering new ideas of how to think and how to live. The writers and thinkers of John Winthrop, Arthur Miller, and Benjamin Franklin make it possible for people to study and apply these laws to their own lives hundreds of years after they were introduced. Even though not all tenets are practiced as strongly as others, the concepts of the value of hard work and a self reliant lifestyle still resonate in the hearts of many American individuals hundreds of years after the birth of this Puritan lifestyle. Although there many examples of America still following the values of a Puritan culture, the tenet in which America falls short is the practice of living a holy life: piety.
