Today I decided to do the meditation called Grounding Meditation it is the 3rd meditation for my
assignment Your Journal Activity . I am hoping it helps me with grounding. I had to try this one a few
times before I could turn my brain off some to meditate. I did go to a quiet place and sat comfortable

aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself

It is difficult for anyone to truly understand devastating situations that occur in our history unless we
actually experience them ourselves. No matter how much we research, how many pictures we observe,
or even the personal stories from the individuals who endure those hard times. We can imagine the
pain and tragedy of it, however, can we truly understand it? In The Devil s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen,
is a character named Hannah Stern who undergoes a glimpse of such a tragedy and completely shifts
her outlook on her family s history in the Holocaust. Throughout the story, Hannah depicts an
unappreciative hora towards remembering the past of her family, subsequently she receives the
glimpse of the past and completely transforms her attitude. Hannah attended a Seder that her
grandparents performed for Passover. Before she arrived, Hannah made excuses that she did not know
it was Passover, or that she forgot about it, and how she already ate to be excused from it. Her mother
explained the importance of remembering to her, which Hannah replied with, All Jewish holidays are

numerous writing techniques that help to portray the novel s message. Jamaica Kincaid displays an
array of writing techniques in the novel such as repetition, rhetorical questions and the use of you to
demonstrate her thoughts about colonization.
Repetition is used numerous times in the novel to further depict Kincaid s thoughts and ideas. By
using repetition, the author is portraying the thought as a rant as well as in a more aggressive and
serious tone. This is displayed in the novel when Kincaid says ...maybe they weren t from the real
England at all but from another England, one we were not familiar with, not at all from the England
we were told about... . In this quote, Kincaid is repeating word England in order to further emphasize

I Believe In Sport
I believe in sports. I have been playing sports since i was 7 years old, sports such as basketball,
football, and soccer. I play organized, in the street, or at the park, anywhere or anytime i can get my
hands on a ball, I will play.
