Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
Continuous quality improvement (CQI) is the process based, data driven approach to improving the
quality of a product or service. It functions under the belief that there is always room for improving
operations, processes, and activities to increase quality. This approach leads to improved health care
quality because it came as an effort to reduce errors; ensure safety; evaluating improvements and
performance incentives. Some of the strengths of CQI in healthcare include creating fewer
complications and problems, lower level of errors, increasing efficiency, improving patient care and
satisfaction, improving functioning and communications across the organization, identifying strengths
and areas needing improvement. The weaknesses include staff

Marketing and Cunard
Background
Cunard Line Ltd is one of the most famous and oldest luxury cruise companies in the world. Providing
high level luxury service to its clientele, Cunard s name is associated with elegance, excellence, and
tradition. Its seven ships (5 luxury and 4 premium) follows Cunard s high quality service pattern,
giving to the company 50% of the market share in the luxury segment and 90 % of occupancy in 1990.
The success and performance of the company is considered high for the cruise industry. Based on their
corporate culture, the company has two main targets to provide excellence and elegance as the value
of their service, and to employ these concepts into their marketing communication in order to sell the

Direct campaigns will target costumers focusing on prices and promotion, whether mass campaigns
will focus on a corporate campaign (Cunard brand). This campaign will show the company expertise,
trustworthiness, and likeability with powerful visual appeal linked with a strong slogan (ex: Cunard,
the life experience). This approach may open the opportunity to link the attributes of the brand
(excellence and elegance) with a celebrity (ex: Cindy Crawford), allowing the audience to remind the
brand s name. Communication Channels
Mass Media: Advertising in mass media will be focused only in the corporate image (brand equity),
using the same visual appeal, but with a strong message and portraying different Cunard s ships,
places, food, and activities. The idea is to create desire in the audience s minds for the experience of
traveling in a Cunard s luxury cruise. Macro scheduling for seasons will drive the portraying of
advertisement in television and magazines, targeting those who have never been in a luxury cruise, or
those who never experience the elegance of a Cunard cruise.
Sales Promotion
Since 95% of consumers book their cruises through travel agents, sales and promotions will target
travel agencies. Cunard will offer better promotion discounts to travel agencies to stimulate the
preference for Cunard packages. Because 65% of the travelers pay full tickets, the agency can choose
to sell or not the full package with a discount. Having a better margin of

The Greenhouse Effect And Climate Change
The greenhouse effect and climate change
Shubham Sarpal
University of Texas at San Antonio
Research Question: How does human activities cause rise in greenhouse gasses emissions?
Answer/Thesis: While there are many gasses that human activities emit directly into the atmosphere,
some major gasses which are causing harm in the atmosphere and resulting in the increased
greenhouse effect are:
Carbon dioxide: It is originated by burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, though
deforestation is also a very significant contributor.
Methane: It is due to agriculture (especially livestock and rice fields), fossil fuel extraction and the
decay of organic waste in landfill sites.
Nitrous oxide: sources include agriculture (especially nitrogen fertilized soils and livestock waste) and
industrial processes.
Fluorinated gases: This gas is generated due to industrial processes.
As a result of this, the United States had suffered record breaking floods along the Mississippi River
on 9th September 2011, high snowstorms from the Midwest to the Northeast even massive wildfires in
the West and South, deadly tornadoes in the South and Midwest. The reasons behind the change in the
extreme weather is due to global warming which is caused by increase in greenhouse gasses emissions
as the scientists say.

Henry Turner Movie Essay
Sigmund Freud was the first psychologist to suggest that everyone has a large unconscious. He also
identified three parts of the personality: the id, ego, and superego. Freud said that the id operates on
pleasure principle , the ego operates on reality principle , and the superego operates on moral principle
. A great showcase of the different parts of the personality can be found within the movie Regarding
Henry. In this movie Henry Turner falls victim to an armed man in his local convenience store. After
the accident Henry s personality, and life in general, undergoes a drastic change. In my opinion, Henry
s natural state is his id. In this movie, Henry Turner appears to be largely controlled by his id. One of
the first big examples of this is when he leaves the house late at night by himself to go purchase
cigarettes. Henry goes out at a dangerous hour because he feels the need for a cigarette and this is
what results in him being shot. Another example of him using his id is when he lashes out at his
caretaker, Bradley. Henry loves Bradley but when Bradley tries to tell him that it s time to go back
home Henry is overcome by emotions and lashes out. He screams at Bradley, which is very out of ...

The id is what causes your impulsive actions, the ego is what makes you step back and rationalize, and
the superego is what controls your morals. Henry Turner spends a large majority of the movie
operating on his superego. It makes him more loving and compassionate, contrary to how he acted
while operating on his id. After the accident, his natural state is definitely his superego. This film
helps to show how easily our personalities can be affected by certain events. It also shows that people
seem to become a much better person when operating on their superego, not their id. It is much better
to be thoughtful and rational than

Toxic Masculinity In Lord Of The Flies
Within Lord of the Flies, we see firsthand the violence and destruction that lies within humanity, and
boys in particular. Without society, they fell apart. They committed atrocities that go against every
rule, every social expectation, we see in humanity. Although Lord of the Flies shows important ideas
about boys place in society, it also allows the reader to form damaging views on ideas such as death,
violence, and conflict. When you hear the phrase toxic masculinity , it s usually used as a joke.
However, there s a reason that it s a concept. Toxic masculinity is a social science term used to
describe the phenomenon within a society where masculine traits, such as anger, violence, egotism,
contempt, aggression, as well as showing destructive or apathetic behavior, are rewarded. Normally,
these traits are regulated by law and society. When the boys are taken out of society, however, they
have no restraints, leading to the boys relying on these traits. In their minds, aggression and violence
are good; however, a successful society cannot be made from violence. Even societies such as Sparta
valued other traits: honesty, ambition, diligence, duty, strength, loyalty, and bravery. It wasn t just
violence; instead, they created a community of us against them , which may have lead to violence, but
it wasn t the founding value. In battle, they were told to come back with their shield or on it, which
shows the bravery needed to be a warrior and loyalty to the state. Mandatory education and martial
training emphasized duty and diligence. The boys had none of this. Their society was built on
violence, aggression, and disorder, with a survival of the fittest mentality. Of course, the way we raise
boys isn t going to lead to a healthy society. The characteristics we instill in male adolescents do
nothing to contribute to a positive society, and without order and regulations, these characteristics
create the opposite of a positive society. They create a breeding ground for anarchy, chaos, and
brutality, even to the point of sadism. Golding is trying to use this story to tell society that we can t
afford to promote such traits, that cruelty will only cause problems, that aggression will never lead to a

Persuasive Essay On How To Keep It Cool During A Hot Winter
Keeping it Cool during a Hot Perth Summer
Without a doubt, if you have lived in Perth during the summer months, you already know how hot,
humid, wet, and uncomfortable the summer season can be. Being able to keep the heat and moisture
out of your home is a matter of prior planning. Here are some great tips on how to keep your home
cool without using lots of electricity.
The Windows
1. Having tall plants or trees that shade the outside of your home helps to keep the heat away from
entering through your windows.
2. Shading your windows from the outside helps to prevent nearly 75 percent of the solar heat from
reaching the windows. This can easily be done with awnings, overhanging eaves, up and down rolling
shutters, bamboo shades, and self applying reflective film.
3. Whether you have curtains or window blinds, keep them closing during the daylight hours,
especially during the peak heat generating hours of 3 to 6 PM. Light colored curtains are more
effective than darker colored ones. White blinds are effective in reflecting sunlight, and in keeping
solar heat away from the interior rooms cool.
4. Install UV Ray and Sunlight reflective window panes. This not only keeps the humidity and heat
out of your home, it will also reduce your dependence on your air conditioner.
5. Try to keep your windows closed at all times. However, it is totally fine to open your windows, if
you have screen covers, during the evenings if you live in an area that is significantly cooler

Child Custody Analysis
In child custody cases, the legal field approves the methods used by psychologists, yet argues that
psychologists must understand that lawyers are trained to work in an adversarial system in which their
role is to advocate the client s best interests (Lee, Beauregard, Hunsley, 1998, p.118). With that being
said, lawyers in child custody cases are supportive and even encourage psychological involvement in
the determination of the child s best interests, yet also argue that it is essential for them to have some
knowledge of family law. The main purpose of a lawyer is to defend his client regarding of what
psychologists have to say. However, they still have a word about the methods used in custody
evaluation (Lee et al., 1998, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to determine if an expert testimony is accepted in court, the judge refers to the Daubert
criteria, which is constituted of four criteria that determine if an evidence is reliable (Pozzulo, Bennell,
Forth, 2015, p. 22). Ackerman argues that some custody evaluations are accepted in court even if they
do not follow any ethical guidance. He states that psychologist should conduct a neutral child
evaluation and that they have to do it right or don t do it at all (Ackerman, 2010, p.

Coccus Shape
After allowing the two unknowns to incubate on the streak plate (Picture B), the next step was to gram
stain, and hopefully separate them. After following the procedures for gram staining, and observing
my slide underneath the microscope, it was evident that I had two microbes on my slide. One of the
microbes was gram positive with a coccus shape, while the other was gram negative with a small rode
looking shape to it (Picture A). The next step was to be able to separate them from each other using
selective media. For the gram positive unknown, I used a MSA plate, which prevented gram negative
growth. For the gram negative unknown, I used an EMB plate, which would inhibit any gram positive
growth. The next class period on 4/18/17, my gram negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I used a sample from that MSA streak plate to inoculate urea, glucose, and catalase. I also checked my
mannitol, galactose, and gelatin samples for my gram negative. Upon inspection, my unknown did
ferment mannitol (Picture F). So I moved onto my gelatin, which was next on my dichotomous key.
Gelatin was still present when I pulled it out of the refrigerator (Picture G). Looking at my
Dichotomous key, this told me my gram negative sample was Serratia marcescens. Galactose was not
fermented either. Using our data table about physical and metabolic characteristics of gram negative
bacteria, it helped confirm that all my tests supported Serratia marcescens as the correct gram negative
unknown. On the last day, I still needed to find my gram positive unknown. When I added H2O2 to
my catalase, nothing happened, there were no bubbles at all (Picture H). Using my dichotomous key,
that meant that my unknown was Enterococcus faecalis. Just to be sure, I looked at my table for
physical and metabolic characteristics for gram positive bacteria. Fermantation of glucose, and not
havinng a presence of urea, helped confirm a that my gram positive unknown was Enterococcus

Re:
Personal reflection of Technical Writing memo While thinking back over the past weeks and
reviewing my assignments, activities and instructor feedback, I am confident I have gained knowledge
that will be beneficial to me in both my continued education as well as my professional career.
Enrolling in this class I was unclear as to what to expect, but within the first weekly assignment I
could understand the benefits it would bring to my current endeavors. As the class progressed, I found
myself both grateful and devastated for the learning opportunities. As learning opportunities always
provide opportunities to improve, please allow me to expand on each. Perhaps my biggest take from
this course was the need to research my documents to prevent unintended plagiarism. I was raised to
not lie, steal or cheat as the most important values one can possess. With these values in place, other
principles will fall into place. Plagiarism, in my definition, is the combination of all three values in
one. Gurak and Lannon list four key principals to avoid unintentional plagiarism including identify
sources, taking accurate notes, understanding how to include the information, and how to document
the use of sources (Gurak Lannon, 2016, p. 406). In completing my assignments I fully considered my
work meeting the requirements and avoiding any inference of plagiarism. With that said, I was wrong.

What Is The Ten Commandments In Exodus Compared With The...
Compared with the Old Testament, Christian dogmas in the New Testament undergo significant
changes. These differences can be well demonstrated by comparing the Ten Commandments as
presented in Exodus with Jesus commenting upon them in the Gospel of Matthew. The Ten
Commandments, as laid out in Exodus, set most basic rules for every person to follow. They
determine the good and the bad, the moral norms. For example, it isn t morally accepted to kill, to
commit adultery. On the other hand, it s everyone s moral duty to love God, to love and respect one s
parents (Exodus, 20:3). Jesus bases his teaching upon the same commandments. Talking to his
disciples, as presented in Matthew s, he gives to these basic and simply listed rules more depth and

How Traditional Anishinaabe Medicine Can Be Integrated...
When the culture of the Anishinaabe, or Ojibwe, people were suppressed when colonization began in
the Americas, their medical practices were as well. In an effort to preserve the Ojibwe culture as well
as establish effective treatment options for people living on reservations as well as members of Ojibwe
communities, Anishinaabe cultures should be incorporated into the clinical setting.
When working with different cultures in a health environment, it is necessary to have an
understanding of that culture as different perspectives and values will have an effect on their medical
care. Therefore, an understanding of Anishinaabe medicinal practices is crucial when considering the
prevention and treatment of illnesses in the Anishinaabe community. Since traditional methods are not
practiced in American healthcare, how information is perceived in the population as well as inclination
to comply with different treatments are affected. How traditional practices can be incorporated in a
Western healthcare setting as well as the challenges that exist in doing so will be evaluated.
To begin to assess the different ways that traditional Anishinaabe medicine can be integrated into
Western medicine, how the Anishinaabe culture was affected by colonization must be discussed. The
cause of an illness is fundamental to determine how to treat it. There are two kinds of illnesses that
differ in how they are treated as well as their etiology.
One is white man s sickness , which include diseases

Wellbeing of the Milspouse
In preparing for my quantitative research I reviewed three articles relating to the wellbeing of the
milspouse. The first article, Military Deployment and the Spouse Left Behind , Asbury and Martin
(2011) included both male and female milspouses who were civilians or they were active duty
personnel themselves. They gathered their data via a voluntary online survey which measured the
spouses depression, anxiety, perceived social support, and marital discord. They focused on the
differences between the civilian milspouses and the military milspouses and hypothesized that the
military milspouses would experience more depression, have higher rates of anxiety, experience
higher rates of isolation and marital discord than their civilian counter parts. They found no significant
difference between the groups in depression, anxiety, or perception of social support. They did
discover in the marital discord findings there was a significant statistical differences between
participants with a spouse in the military and the participants with civilian a spouse. The results
showed that participants with military spouses had more marital discord being that 80% of the military
milspouses and only 17% of the civilian milspouses had frequently considered divorce. (2011, p. 47)

Vitamin Supplements And The Body Needs
Today in society, many individuals do not receive the essential vitamins that the body needs to
maintain good health. Does one ever wonder how the body can receive the necessary vitamins that it
needs to maintain equilibrium? Vitamin supplements can be found in the form of a liquid, pill, or
powder. Individuals can obtain the vitamins through a prescription from their physician or over the
counter. The supplements help the body receive the vitamins that they are not obtaining through their
daily diet. To receive the nourishment the body needs, there are a variety of supplements that can be
obtained.Vitamin supplements are beneficial because they provide nutrition that the body needs, treats
different diseases, and prevents deficiencies that contribute to chronic conditions. A healthy fix to the
body is a simple step away.
In today s world, many individuals tend to eat the quickest and easiest food available to fill their
hunger needs, but the food choices they make do not have the vitamins that the body needs. Everyone
has a daily diet that they stick with and it may be lacking the nutrition crucial for life. Some people try
to eat the basic foods to obtain the essential vitamins needed and in the end they are still lacking, but if
you re doing your best to eat healthy foods but still are deficient in some areas, supplements can help
(Vitamin Supplements: Healthy or Hoax?). The supplements provide the nutrition that the body does

Cloning Inhumane Analysis

truth, the Starshine James plays with nowadays is the original Starshine s clone. People all around the
world have been cloning their pets before their pets die. However, different people have completely
different opinions on this method. Some believe that instead of cloning their pets, people should just
save an animal at an animal shelter rather than spending thousands of dollars on a clone. Others say it

Asteroids Impact On Society
Asteroid Impact Asteroids are rocky objects that move in the asteroid belt , which is between the orbit
of Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids vary in size, composition, and how they orbit. It is estimated that more
than 100,000 asteroids are orbiting too close to the earth. Asteroid impacts have affected the Earth
remarkably with great damage. Hopefully these impacts will not be as bad in the future. Clemens
Rumpf from University of Southampton, and his associates, speculated the casualties from an asteroid
and how it would impact Earth. These researchers studied the effects it would cause on Earth by

important it is to look for asteroids that can corrupt Earth in the future. In 2004, an asteroid event took

on, January 14, 2004. This asteroid was named AL00667 and had a twenty five percent chance of

organizations were formed so there could be warnings for any threatening object that will affect Earth

As Christians we are trying to re invent our beliefs, faith and righteous living to fit in the modern
world. We are trying to move with the tide, follow trends and changes. We are incorporating what is in
the world into Christianity. Christians are trying to hold on to what God expects us to do and living
righteously but it is getting harder as the world is changing.
There has also been a decline in spiritual enrichment in churches to its followers which has allowed
new religions and new age innovations to come up. Christians convert to these religions trying to look
for spiritual enrichment and fulfillment. Christian knowledge is being challenged with scientific and
worldly knowledge. There is no longer the idea of one truth, one correct body of knowledge, (Bruce,
1996). In a world based on facts, Christians are continually looking for facts of God s existence and
they forget that faith believes in the unseen.
Christianity has been facing many obstacles from all the non religious world views. There has been a
lot of contemporary influence in this modern churches and Christian gatherings as they try to fit in and
accommodate the changing world views. Due to all this influences, everything about Christianity is
being questioned especially on issues of sex, divorce, marriage and birth control. There has also been

Nautical is a customized approach to cruising and will innovate the way cruise vacations are
researched. The concept was created after spending hours trying to compare cruises based on my
specific needs. Most cruise lines make it pretty easy to compare across their fleets but it is nearly
impossible to compare across cruise lines. Each popular travel website that also has booking for other
types of trips are simply not customized enough to give a cruiser the total picture of what the pros and
cons are to each cruise line. The final alternative is to use a travel agent. This is still viable option in

traveler is savvy enough to understand what they need and ask questions. Nautical is designed to be

A Few Good Men By Erich Fromm And Stanley Milgram
The movie, A Few Good Men, is the story of how two marines go on trial for the murder of another
marine. The movie then unfolds into an emotional drama which dives deep into conspiracy and the
psychodynamics of following orders. A Few Good Men was a critically acclaimed movie and was
nominated for multiple Academy Awards. Similarly, authors Erich Fromm and Stanley Milgram,
wrote essays that explored the morals behind obedience, and how disobedience of immoral commands
can bring betterment to others. Although A Few Good Men presents disobedience as being a vice,
evidence from Milgram and Fromm suggest that disobedience can bring about an improvement on
current conditions. In A Few Good Men, both Lance Cpl. Harold W. Dawson and Pfc. Louden
Downey were obedient to Col. Nathan R. Jessup s order to give Santiago the Code Red, even though it
went against their preset morals. Dawson saw, through his own conscience, that hurting another
person because of small mistakes was immoral. But because of his believe in the marines code, Unit,
Corp, God, Country, he was unable to allow himself to disobey a direct order. Author Milgram
explored this same issue in his experiment. He asked why people followed orders no matter the
negative effects it has on other people. In the study, roughly 60% of the test subject followed all orders
to harms others. After the studies, Milgram inferred that this was because people have an underlying

Substance Abuse And Deviant Behavior

being a disease or caused from deviant behavior. However, now that I think about it, I feel that
substance abuse can be both a disease and caused from deviant behavior (even though I have never
thought of substance abuse as a deviant behavior before).
One example of how substance abuse could be considered a disease is if you have a mother that was
addicted to crack during her pregnancy, that child could have side effects due to the mother s drug use.
This could set the child up for failure because they could be addicted to crack later in life because of
its mother (disease).

According to Roger Ebert, nightmare movies such as the Labyrinth are not as suspenseful as they
should be. These movies do not follow any rules or logic. Anything can occur, nothing has to happen,
rules continuously change, and nothing is as it seems. He believes we are wasting energy caring:
Consider, for example, the scene in Labyrinth where Sarah thinks she is waking up from her horrible
dream and opens the door of her bedroom. Anything could be outside that door. He also believes the
Muppet idea works better when humans visit the Muppet world as in the Muppet Movies rather than
when Muppets appear the human world. He states another problem with the film is its length. Ebert
argues that without a strong plot to carry us through the movie, movies like this are endanger of
becoming just a series of incidents: There s no structure to the order of the adventures. Sarah does this,
she does that, she s almost killed here, almost trapped there, until at last nothing much

Kim Campbell Significance Essay
Canada is a home to many great, important, powerful and significant people, who some are more
known than others, some have done good and not so good things. Putting aside the under appreciated
people or the ones who made big mistakes, these people are all significant. For example, Lester
Pearson who practically stopped World War Three, or Terry Fox who wanted to run around Canada
with one functioning leg to raise money for cancer. Also Pierre Trudeau, the former Prime Minister
who went behind the queen, danced and almost fell on her. Avril Phaedra Douglas Kim Campbell is
not the most important Canadian but she is very significant. She is significant for three reasons, she

Joseph Campbell Hero Monomyth
Life is a precious gift, as you only get one chance to become your best self. In life everyone has hopes
and dreams to find their calling to potentially make a difference in the world. In literature we are
presented with an abundance of epic hero stories, referring to fictional or non fictional characters that
have made a difference in their world. These characters grant the reader with entertaining stories
pertaining to historical or fictional events that reflect the hero s journey to making a triumphant
change. Joseph Campbell s theory that every hero has a similar journey to becoming their best self
commences with a call to an adventure. The call to adventure is the first and most important step in
Joseph Campbell s hero monomyth, A hero with a Thousand Faces. Although epic hero s either
fictional or non fictional have similar journeys while becoming a hero, each character has distinct
characteristics that present divergent outcomes. Two of the most evident characteristics that come to
mind when thinking of a hero is bravery and strength. Amongst Gilgamesh, Beowulf, Luke
Skywalker, Sunjata, and Rostam they re all brave strong men with their own traits that shape them into
heroes. All five of these men s lives begin in an ordinary world when they receive a call to an
adventure. Each hero has the choice to either refuse or accept the journey that they have been called
upon. In The Hero With A Thousand Faces, Campbell s gives an example of how the call to adventure

Factors And Consequences Of The Sons Of Independence
1) Starting with the period of salutary neglect, Parliament set up the colonies to want independence.
By giving them the freedom to do as they pleased without consequences, as long as they were making
money, allowed the colonists to leave how to live as they wanted. Then, when they needed the
colonies to pay the same taxes as everyone else by passing the Stamp Act, the colonists didn t want to
pay it because they were used to making their own laws. Parliament went from imposing very little
regulations on the colonists to trying to control their taxes and that was never going to go well for
them. They had an agreement with the colonists that they would let them be as long as they were
making money and breaking that all at once had a bit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sons of Liberty did not want pay taxes enacted by Britain and did not want to make any
concessions to Britain. They wanted to live in salutary neglect and nothing else would do. When
Britain started to pass laws such as the Stamp Act the Sons of Liberty resisted and made a case for
their beliefs. They opposed the act event thought they were British Citizens and probably should have
been paying the same taxes as everyone else. Next, when Parliament tried to change their actions to
align with their argument by passing the Townshend Duties, the Sons changed their argument and
resisted the new duties. This created more pressure on Parliament and made them feel they needed to
take stronger actions against the colonies. From this resistance, we get the Coercive Acts and a
stronger British presence in the colonies that lead to an escalating of issues. If the colonies had
accepted that to enjoy the benefits of being a British citizen, they also had to pay taxes like every other
citizen, there would not have been so much tension. The Sons were completely unwilling to make any
concessions to the government of Parliament and that played a huge role in the situations moving out

An Analysis Of Susanna Wheatley s Poetry
Both female poets choose to use the first person, implying that the I connotates a personal sentiment
for the author and reader. In Wheatley s case, it is made clear to the reader through a footnote that the
poem is in fact about her as it states, [it] commemorates Wheatley s transatlantic voyage to London
(Wheatley 1020). In this poem, the reader is given a direct image of departure. Wheatley travels from
Boston to London in order to publish her poems as well as maintain her health. Moreover, to further
point out Wheatley is the intended I , the poem is dedicated to her mistress Susanna Wheatley who is
mentioned in the poem. Her poem uses the first person to not only show she is the subject of the
poem, but to narrate her feelings on her travel experience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In consideration of the historical context, it can be interpreted that this I is in fact Prince Albert talking
to both Great Britain and his wife, Queen Victoria. Unlike Wheatley s poem which focuses on travel,
Remember possesses a language of longing by writing intimate moments such as [holding] me by the
hand (Rossetti 554, 3). To further prove that this poem contains romantic undertones, it should be
noted that Remember is a Petrarchan sonnet, containing fourteen lines and a volta, known for focusing
on courtship or love. The feeling of longing produced in her poem suggests Rossetti uses Albert s
voice to reach out to the Queen to help her cope with her loss. Rather than using the first person to be
the subject of the poem, Rossetti chooses the style to further apply a personal connection with her
readers (and most importantly Queen Victoria). The use of first person for both poets, though
differently used, identifies with the core belief of an I aiming to connect with the readers on a personal
level to transmit their

Increasing Price Discrimination In The Workplace
Individuals encounter price discriminations on an almost daily basis, whether realizing it or not.
Considering that many fast food chains off discounts to seniors, one could possibly pay the regular
price and not even think of the possibility of a discount. Price discrimination can be described as
identical services or goods being sold at different prices by one single provider (Sexton, 2013).
Therefore, each time a person shops at Goodwill, he or she has the opportunity of a reduced cost
providing stipulations are met such as being a student, senior, or military. In order to meet the
qualification of price discrimination, three points are provided. First, the organization must provide a
good or service that is not offered by other organizations, establishing a monopoly. Secondly, the
elasticities of demand have to be prevalent, and, and thirdly, stipulations have to be enforced in order
to prevent reselling of the product or service for a profit.
Considering the price differences encountered by parking garages, price discrimination can be
established by examining the price differences between long term parking and short term parking.
Parking garages often provide a menu of price differences for different frames of time, such as two
hours, four hours, eight hours, or even overnight (Lin Wang, 2015). ... Show more content on

The realization of having to pay fifty dollars for a parking space in a garage that normally charged
fifteen dollars was frustrating. However, during the event, the fifty dollar parking seemed to be norm,

in the parking garage could not be purchased in advance at the lower price in order to utilize the space
at a later date when prices were increased. Therefore, the current price being charged is what one
would pay upon entering the

Reasons for Australia s Federation
Defence, Immigration and Trade
Australian federation was a main turning point in Australia s history, not so much for it s camaraderie
and sprit, but to legislate and retaliate against three main concerns that had arose in our developing
nation; Australia s defence, immigration and trade. With the introduction of Federation to Australia, all
three problems were fixed, and much more.
Before 1901, Australia s defence lacked muscularity. Best put it by Jim Killen, a British General at the
time, was that [Australia] couldn t even defend Botany Bay on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Each
colony had there own minute militia run by volunteers, but heavily relied on the British ... Show more

People were growing tired of being susceptible to attacks so easily, vulnerable to the most minuscule
of invasions, which was one strong driver to Australia s coming of a Federation. This was driven by
the uprising of nations such as Germany, France and Russia who had already started colonising
neighbouring parts of the Pacific. Along with this, Neighbouring Asian country were also a threat, as
they had large populations and armies. Alfred Deakin, the Australian politician, was a leader of the
movement for Australian federation once referred to this problem by stating that The Asiatic wave
which has threatened to engulf us is only suspended for a short time, but if the colonies do not federate
our comparatively trifling white population will be swept before it like a feather . Along with this,
unified nation made Australia better equipped to deal with foreign policy matters. An example of this
was when Germany gain ownership of New Guinea. It is believed that New Guinea could have
belonged to Australia if the six colonies had been able to unify, meaning that a German invasion
would be unlikely. What federation created was a united defence force which could better protect
Australia and it s possessions, which would intern strengthen Australia s

Introduction
Ports play a decisive role in furthering the economic goals of a country. In the context of the U.S.
marine, transportation system is the cherished asset of the country. The system has provided the U.S
maritime transport a leading position in the international market. Although, the maritime
transportation has been stable traditionally, manifold increase in international trade has imposed
potential challenges of maritime transportation capacity. Another constraint on the transportation
system is arising from the environmental regulations now imposed by the U.S government through
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Therefore, the industry is set to face two main issues in
coming years, first filling the gap between demand and supply of port transportation and secondly to
provide enough capacity for managing future growth of transportation through ports. The leading
factors that needs to be addressed for meeting demand and increasing capacity are

Answer/Thesis: While there are many gasses that human activities emit directly into the atmosphere, some major gasses which are causing harm in the atmosphere and resulting in the increased greenhouse effect are: Carbon dioxide: It is originated by burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, though deforestation is also a very significant contributor. Methane: It is due to agriculture (especially livestock and rice fields), fossil fuel extraction and the decay of organic waste in landfill sites. Nitrous oxide: sources include agriculture (especially nitrogen fertilized soils and livestock waste) and industrial processes. Fluorinated gases: This gas is generated due to industrial processes. He also identified three parts of the personality: the id, ego, and superego. Freud said that the id operates on pleasure principle , the ego operates on reality principle , and the superego operates on moral principle . A great showcase of the different parts of the personality can be found within the movie Regarding Henry. In this movie Henry Turner falls victim to an armed man in his local convenience store. After the accident Henry s personality, and life in general, undergoes a drastic change. In my opinion, Henry s natural state is his id. In this movie, Henry Turner appears to be largely controlled by his id. One of the first big examples of this is when he leaves the house late at night by himself to go purchase cigarettes. Henry goes out at a dangerous hour because he feels the need for a cigarette and this is what results in him being shot. Another example of him using his id is when he lashes out at his caretaker, Bradley. • 8. Toxic Masculinity In Lord Of The Flies Within Lord of the Flies, we see firsthand the violence and destruction that lies within humanity, and boys in particular. Without society, they fell apart. They committed atrocities that go against every rule, every social expectation, we see in humanity. Although Lord of the Flies shows important ideas about boys place in society, it also allows the reader to form damaging views on ideas such as death, violence, and conflict. When you hear the phrase toxic masculinity , it s usually used as a joke. However, there s a reason that it s a concept. Toxic masculinity is a social science term used to describe the phenomenon within a society where masculine traits, such as anger, violence, egotism, contempt, aggression, as well as showing destructive or apathetic behavior, are rewarded. Normally, these traits are regulated by law and society. When the boys are taken out of society, however, they have no restraints, leading to the boys relying on these traits. In their minds, aggression and violence are good; however, a successful society cannot be made from violence. Even societies such as Sparta valued other traits: honesty, ambition, diligence, duty, strength, loyalty, and bravery. It wasn t just violence; instead, they created a community of us against them , which may have lead to violence, but it wasn t the founding value. In battle, they were told to come back with their shield or on it, which shows the bravery needed to be a warrior and loyalty to the state. Mandatory education and martial training emphasized duty and diligence. The boys had none of this. Their society was built on violence, aggression, and disorder, with a survival of the fittest mentality. Of course, the way we raise boys isn t going to lead to a healthy society. The characteristics we instill in male adolescents do nothing to contribute to a positive society, and without order and regulations, these characteristics create the opposite of a positive society. They create a breeding ground for anarchy, chaos, and brutality, even to the point of sadism. When the culture of the Anishinaabe, or Ojibwe, people were suppressed when colonization began in the Americas, their medical practices were as well. In an effort to preserve the Ojibwe culture as well as establish effective treatment options for people living on reservations as well as members of Ojibwe communities, Anishinaabe cultures should be incorporated into the clinical setting. When working with different cultures in a health environment, it is necessary to have an understanding of that culture as different perspectives and values will have an effect on their medical care. Therefore, an understanding of Anishinaabe medicinal practices is crucial when considering the prevention and treatment of illnesses in the Anishinaabe community. Since traditional methods are not practiced in American healthcare, how information is perceived in the population as well as inclination to comply with different treatments are affected. How traditional practices can be incorporated in a Western healthcare setting as well as the challenges that exist in doing so will be evaluated. To begin to assess the different ways that traditional Anishinaabe medicine can be integrated into Western medicine, how the Anishinaabe culture was affected by colonization must be discussed. The movie then unfolds into an emotional drama which dives deep into conspiracy and the psychodynamics of following orders. A Few Good Men was a critically acclaimed movie and was nominated for multiple Academy Awards. Similarly, authors Erich Fromm and Stanley Milgram, wrote essays that explored the morals behind obedience, and how disobedience of immoral commands can bring betterment to others. Although A Few Good Men presents disobedience as being a vice, evidence from Milgram and Fromm suggest that disobedience can bring about an improvement on current conditions. In A Few Good Men, both Lance Cpl. Harold W. Dawson and Pfc. Louden Downey were obedient to Col. Nathan R. Jessup s order to give Santiago the Code Red, even though it went against their preset morals. Dawson saw, through his own conscience, that hurting another person because of small mistakes was immoral. But because of his believe in the marines code, Unit, Corp, God, Country, he was unable to allow himself to disobey a direct order. Author Milgram explored this same issue in his experiment. He asked why people followed orders no matter the negative effects it has on other people. In the study, roughly 60% of the test subject followed all orders to harms others. After the studies, Milgram inferred that this was because people have an underlying fear of disobeying a superior and do not trust their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Factors And Consequences Of The Sons Of Independence 1) Starting with the period of salutary neglect, Parliament set up the colonies to want independence. By giving them the freedom to do as they pleased without consequences, as long as they were making money, allowed the colonists to leave how to live as they wanted. Then, when they needed the colonies to pay the same taxes as everyone else by passing the Stamp Act, the colonists didn t want to pay it because they were used to making their own laws. Parliament went from imposing very little regulations on the colonists to trying to control their taxes and that was never going to go well for them. They had an agreement with the colonists that they would let them be as long as they were making money and breaking that all at once had a bit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Britain started to pass laws such as the Stamp Act the Sons of Liberty resisted and made a case for their beliefs. They opposed the act event thought they were British Citizens and probably should have been paying the same taxes as everyone else. Next, when Parliament tried to change their actions to align with their argument by passing the Townshend Duties, the Sons changed their argument and resisted the new duties. This created more pressure on Parliament and made them feel they needed to take stronger actions against the colonies. From this resistance, we get the Coercive Acts and a stronger British presence in the colonies that lead to an escalating of issues. If the colonies had accepted that to enjoy the benefits of being a British citizen, they also had to pay taxes like every other citizen, there would not have been so much tension. • 28. An Analysis Of Susanna Wheatley s Poetry Both female poets choose to use the first person, implying that the I connotates a personal sentiment for the author and reader. In Wheatley s case, it is made clear to the reader through a footnote that the poem is in fact about her as it states, [it] commemorates Wheatley s transatlantic voyage to London (Wheatley 1020). In this poem, the reader is given a direct image of departure. Wheatley travels from Boston to London in order to publish her poems as well as maintain her health. Moreover, to further point out Wheatley is the intended I , the poem is dedicated to her mistress Susanna Wheatley who is mentioned in the poem. Her poem uses the first person to not only show she is the subject of the poem, but to narrate her feelings on her travel experience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In consideration of the historical context, it can be interpreted that this I is in fact Prince Albert talking to both Great Britain and his wife, Queen Victoria. Unlike Wheatley s poem which focuses on travel, Remember possesses a language of longing by writing intimate moments such as [holding] me by the hand (Rossetti 554, 3). To further prove that this poem contains romantic undertones, it should be noted that Remember is a Petrarchan sonnet, containing fourteen lines and a volta, known for focusing on courtship or love. The feeling of longing produced in her poem suggests Rossetti uses Albert s voice to reach out to the Queen to help her cope with her loss. Rather than using the first person to be the subject of the poem, Rossetti chooses the style to further apply a personal connection with her readers (and most importantly Queen Victoria). The use of first person for both poets, though differently used, identifies with the core belief of an I aiming to connect with the readers on a personal level to transmit their ... • 30. Increasing Price Discrimination In The Workplace Individuals encounter price discriminations on an almost daily basis, whether realizing it or not. Considering that many fast food chains off discounts to seniors, one could possibly pay the regular price and not even think of the possibility of a discount. Price discrimination can be described as identical services or goods being sold at different prices by one single provider (Sexton, 2013). Therefore, each time a person shops at Goodwill, he or she has the opportunity of a reduced cost providing stipulations are met such as being a student, senior, or military. In order to meet the qualification of price discrimination, three points are provided. First, the organization must provide a good or service that is not offered by other organizations, establishing a monopoly. Secondly, the elasticities of demand have to be prevalent, and, and thirdly, stipulations have to be enforced in order to prevent reselling of the product or service for a profit. With the introduction of Federation to Australia, all three problems were fixed, and much more. Before 1901, Australia s defence lacked muscularity. People were growing tired of being susceptible to attacks so easily, vulnerable to the most minuscule of invasions, which was one strong driver to Australia s coming of a Federation. This was driven by the uprising of nations such as Germany, France and Russia who had already started colonising neighbouring parts of the Pacific. Along with this, Neighbouring Asian country were also a threat, as they had large populations and armies. Alfred Deakin, the Australian politician, was a leader of the movement for Australian federation once referred to this problem by stating that The Asiatic wave which has threatened to engulf us is only suspended for a short time, but if the colonies do not federate our comparatively trifling white population will be swept before it like a feather . Along with this, unified nation made Australia better equipped to deal with foreign policy matters. An example of this was when Germany gain ownership of New Guinea. It is believed that New Guinea could have belonged to Australia if the six colonies had been able to unify, meaning that a German invasion would be unlikely.
