The stop, question, and frisk policy qualifies as a criminal justice issue that has captured the attention
of public nationwide. Empirical research has presented evidence that the stop and frisk police is
disproportionately used against minorities, which indicates the prevalence of racial profiling. Firstly,
statistical databases have shown that the New York Police Departments have stopped and frisked
approximately 685,000 persons since 2011, with 85 percent of those individuals representing African
Americans and Latino Americans (Zamani, 2012). Many of the individuals are male. The statistical
representation, unaccompanied, speaks volumes that the racial profiling is prevalent in the practice.
The racial profiling of minorities violates the constitutional rights of the individuals that are stop and

The goal of my personal project was to learn and develop new painting skills while accomplishing
something that I have always wanted to do. My original plan was to learn all of the functions and
possibilities of the human brain, but I then decided that that was not something I wanted to pursue and
that it wasn t something I could personally connect with. The idea of learning to paint a tree sprung
when I brainstormed on my past ideas and interests, and I decided that that was something I would
like to pursue.
I have always been interested in the art of painting and the detail and effort you should out into it.
When I was in elementary we took a trip to the Toledo Art Museum and I saw a lot of really detailed

Intro The issue of the Commonwealths spending power?????. The recent High Court decision of
Williams s v Commonwealth [2012] , saw the introduction of significant changes to this area, and the
forthcoming Williams v Commonwealth No 2 , currently before the High Court, will likely see issue
further developed. The debate surrounding this area has to do with the fact that in addition to the
legislative heads of power in sections 51 and 52 of the constitution, there are a number of other
constitutional provisions which the federal government has attempted to use as a source of
Commonwealth spending power. The two most frequently cited examples being the section 81
Appropriations power and the section 61 Executive power. In considering both of these sections the
High Court has come to the conclusion that the scope of the spending powers should be limited. This
essay will argue the position that the High Court is justified in this approach and, with reference to the
various principles of interpretation set out by the High Court and the notions of Federalism and

When you first referred to this assignment, I immediately thought about the song called Status Quo
