How Does Hassan Show Loyalty In The Kite Runner
As in society now, trust, loyalty, and redemption are big factors of life. These three themes shape The
Kite Runner. To gain one s trust, one s actions in situations plays a big part. From keeping secrets to
even saving a bus seat for a friend, it is definitely something that takes time to gain. Loyalty, however,
is something in which time is denied to play a factor. Loyalty is more of something people can decide
on. With trust, we can gain accidentally or surprise ourselves with. But with loyalty, it s more of
something that people set their mind to. Just like in The Kite Runner, Hassan is more than anything
loyal to Amir and trusts him. However, Amir trusts Hassan but is not loyal to him as he throws him in
the dirt multiple times. But even with numerous accounts of betrayal, the social factors that separated
Amir and Hassan kind of forced Hassan to be loyal. I thought Hoesseini did a great job defying two
morals in this story, trust and loyalty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amir breaks Hassan s trust in this story multiple times but Amir stays loyal to him through it all. Amir
sees the assault of Hassan, but fearing the confrontation of the bullies, he does nothing. I saw this as
an act of betrayal where even Amir recognizes himself that he is not loyal to Hassan. I even see that it
affected him on his road to adulthood also. However, Amir seemed not to be disturbed with his actions
until the kite incident happened. But even as much as Amir felt guilty for his actions toward Hassan,
the class divisions between their families made it nearly impossible for him to act how he

Explain Why The Police Should Be Allowed To Break The Law...
There are general powers of the police. As the police have authority and power, there is a certain limit
or extent that they can use as there are laws set allowing them to only do certain things; this is set
down in the codes of practice.
The police also, are not able to discriminate you as there is a law set for that. This means that it is
against the law to discriminate you for certain things. They cannot discriminate of: Age, disability,
gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and your sex or sexual
orientation. However, if the police do break the codes of practice by doing anything that goes under
the codes of practice then you have a right to sue them which means that they could potentially be

Into The Charge Of The Light Brigade Essay
The depictive lines of Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem Into the Valley of Death/Rode the six hundred...
Cannon to the right of them/ Cannon to the left of them The Charge of the Light Brigade has long held
its place in the public imagination. According to Denis Cummings, it is a symbol of heroic failure, a
Victorian icon of sacrifice and devotion to duty. The poem itself is a modified and dramatic depiction
of what the war was like. The poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade revises the real horrors of the
war by rendering it into more dramatic, motivational, and personal events.
Although the article, The Battle of Balaclava, by William Howard Russell and the poem, The Charge
of the Light Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson tell about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But thanks to that, readers can experience the war as if they were a part of it. The first line was broken
it was joined by the second, they never halted or checked their speed an instant. (89) Standing in the
middle of hundreds of horses racing at 30 mph is pretty ghastly. Getting struck by one of those horses
can end your life, but these soldiers raced to protect their country and to defeat their opponent. Not
only does vocabulary affect the dramaticism of the story, it gives a lifelike experience of what the war
was like. The effect of personalization can change how the story is accepted and understood. The
article could have just said that there were dead bodies, but it states, The plain was strewed with their
bodies and with carcasses of horses. (89)
Poetry typically delivers events more deeply and memorably than the original. The Charge of the
Light Brigade renders the horrors by making it more dramatic, patriotic, and personal. Conceivably,
The Charge of the Light Brigade does not emphasize and thoroughly describe the original story. But,
both the poem and the article emphasize that these 600 soldiers will always be remembered.
Nevertheless, the poem s rhythm and conveyance will have a long lasting and heartfelt effect in reader

Relationship In Travel And Tourism
Travel agents using agents as a sales outlet for the tour operator s holidays and agreeing commission
payments and booking procedures.
Transport providers negotiating and agreeing contracts with airlines (charter and scheduled), rail
operators, coach companies, taxi operators, etc. To supply transport services for holidaymakers.
Hotels and other accommodation providers negotiating allocations of bed spaces that form the
accommodation element of the package holiday.
Ancillary service providers contracting with companies to supply representative services, transfers,
meet and greet arrangements, insurance, car hire, activities, excursions. (Ingle et.al., 2010). Even the
large, vertically integrated travel groups have to liaise on different functions within their own
organizations, since individual parts of the group are usually separate companies in their own right,
e.g. staff from Neilson Holidays, part of the Thomas Cook Group, would negotiate with staff at
Thomas Cook Airlines to agree seat allocations for a season.
Horizontal and vertical integration merging in travel agencies Ingle et.al., (2010) mention that as
competition in the travel and tourism sector has intensified, tour operators have taken over or merged
with other travel and tourism businesses as a way of maintaining or increasing their market share and
maximizing their profits. This is most noticeable in the tour operator/travel agent relationship, where:

War In Afghanistan Research Paper
Afghanistan has been the worst country when it comes to drug production. Afghanistan farmers
produce a plant called, Papaver Somniferum , but also known as opium poppy which goes into more
than 90% of the heroin worldwide. This country has been the world s greatest illegal opium producer,
ahead of the Golden Triangle (Three of the largest producers in Asia), and Latin America since 1992.
Afghanistan is the main producer of opium in the Golden Crescent . Government issues are climbing
caused by drug use and production in the country. With the already worsening conflict in the all time
record drug production in Afghanistan has recently caused a wave of panic. Government official calls
have been made for robust military action by NATO forces to contain the drug industry in southern
Afghanistan. By doing this they are afraid that intensifying the war on drugs in Afghanistan now
would further fuel the conflict, which is the last thing that the country needs right now. Over ... Show

Danger of Deforestation
The Danger of Deforestation(rough draft) By Chenghao Chen
ENGL 289
Mrs. Michelle Graf
7/1/2012
It is obvious the importance of the forest vegetation to everyone in the society. However, people in the
past ages did a kind of thing that they thought was very meaningful cutting down the trees. When they
recall this history, most of them cannot be restrained from their remorse and guilty to it. Trees or forest
are things that not only protect the environment but also help people to live better. Destroy of forest
and deforestation brings a great many of harm to the environments as well as people in the world.
It is believed that forest is significantly important to both the environment and people s life. The

So there were many people took their tools to cut trees in 1990s in China. It was just like a fashion
trend. They may use wood to produce furniture, houses, boats and they need more space to do farm
work. Therefore, they have to cut trees to make it happen. Study on the main reason for deforestation
is vital to the survey on the change of the forest land. The main reasons for deforestation are from two
aspects, one is the state owned forest area, and the other is collective forest area (John amp;Richard
1988). In fact, the amount of state owned forest area is much larger than collective forest area. The
ecological as well as financial crisis caused by the deforestation has also stayed for quite a long time.
The reasons for ecological and financial crisis in state owned forest area can be analyzed from several
aspects such as, firstly, the excessive growth of the population in state owned forest area, which makes
the overburdened of the enterprises of state owned forest area. There are about 1.3 million work forces
in state owned forest area, which may composed of one third the surplus work force this year.
Secondly, over use of the forest under the administration of state owned forest enterprises. Thirdly, the
administration systems of state owned forest enterprises perform practically no function. There are
also two reasons for the deforestation in collective forest area. Firstly, the reform of

Food Action Plan
Summary and Action Plan
1. Introduction
I am a full time college student. I take four classes every fall/spring and two classes every
winter/summer. Food is available to me every day; however, I do not have time to consume three full
meals a day because of the busy schedule I have. Sometimes I do not have the option of choosing
what food I want to eat or when to eat. I often buy food on campus because I do not like the options
they have. I spend 15$ a day buying water, snacks and meals at college. When I have the option of
eating out it costs me 15 35$ on meals. Most of the time I take various snacks and meals with me to
college. My main meal, which I eat every day at home, I eat what my mother cooks because she s in
charge of cooking in our household. I m restricted in my selections of food because I do not have time
to go grocery shopping, cooking or driving to eat out. I tend to skip breakfast most of the time because
I am always in a hurry to leave, so I don t miss classes.

House Of Sand And Fog Character Analysis
There are two kinds of people in the world, some who think they are unrivaled, and others who think
they are overpowered. The difference between these two individuals is appearance. One thinks the
appearance they put forth is of prestige, while another thinks their appearance is of unworthiness.
Similarly, in the novel House of Sand and Fog, the characters face internal conflict where they want to
have a certain appearance, yet cannot fully achieve it. After recently separating from her husband and
getting rid of her Alcohol addiction, Kathy is trying her best to return back to normalcy with only the
inherited house she has left. However, after being evicted out of the house for false charges, Kathy

My husband got to miss all this, that s what I kept thinking that he didn t have to be around for any of
this, and I was stuck at the El Rancho motel in San Bruno (Dubus, 34). These thoughts evidently
display that Kathy has still not moven away from her past, as the first person she thinks about right
after being evicted is her ex husband. Nonetheless, when she meets Lester Burdon, she instantly feels
an attraction towards him and feels that life has finally changed. However, their affair is short lived, as
Kathy feels that Lester does not want to fully divorce his wife, and so she tries to let go of him for his
own good. In one particular incident, Kathy is reminded of Lester by the gun he mistakenly left in the
car; In one fluid motion, I put the gas can in and pulled the coiled leather snake out, kept it under my
arm as I unlocked my door, rested it on the seat beside me me, what Lester left behind before we went

of him to carry and remember him by (206). Through Lester s last remaining piece, his gun, Kathy
believes it is a significant reminder for her to stop running to him and take a step back. Although she is
trying to forget about him, it does not last for long as many things remind Kathy of Lester. Throughout
the novel Kathy is desolate and pensive, but not in a positive way. She tries to run away from her

Olaudah Equiano, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The
African. Written by Himself. (London: The Project Gutenberg eBook, 2005)
In his book, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The African.
Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano describes his life from the time he was captured and enslaved at
a young age to his journey to freedom. Throughout his book he recalls his culture back in Africa and
compares it with the strange, and obscure observations of his experience during his time as a slave.
Equiano sometimes struggles with his thoughts on slavery and his particular situations sometimes
contradict his judgments. During his time as a slave, Equiano faces a journey that challenges him
mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through his journey, Equiano finds that the pathway to freedom
is through intellectual development, and his new religious finding of God through the bible. To make
his argument, Olaudah Equiano starts his narrative by describing the village he was from and their
customs so that his readers can understand his background. Equiano was from the village where in his
culture manners are simple, and luxuries are few . (53) His village is known as Essaku in the Kingdom
of Benin, Africa. In his village, Equiano was not aware of those who did not look like him. He had
never heard or seen of white people. Though he did not know of white people, he already

The Impact Of Theravada Buddhism On The Western South East...
1a.
Theravada Buddhism has been the pre dominant religion/school in the continental south east Asia, it is
mainly found in sir Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Burma, Taiwan and Lous. Today Theravada
Buddhist is a group which has well over 100,000,000 member s world wide. Theravada is considered
to be the soul survivor of the traditional and original Buddhism. It implies rather traditional and the
strictest moral field of teaching. Theravada concentrates on monks and nuns, those who give full
devotion to god. They live their lives only by the traditional teachings of the Buddha.
The followers for Theravada Buddhism take refuge in the three jewels (which consist of the Buddha,
Dharma and the Sangha), they also hold high regard for the teachings of Karma, Samsara and Nirvana.
Celebrations are a major aspect for Theravada Buddhists but they only have 3 celebrations annually;
Buddha s birthday, the day Buddha was enlightened and the Luna Quarters (crescent moon, first
quarter moon, gibbous moon, and full moon) it is shunned upon to celebrate occasions other than
these because they believe it decreases the value of festivities.
Unfortunately the Theravada Buddhists don t believe in equality for men and women, they still respect
and honour women but they believe that women cannot reach the spiritual greatness that mean can

arhats). But if a women s karmic energy is very good, they

Indian Removal Act Of 1830
Indian Removal Act of 1830 The Indian Removal Act was signed into law on May 28th 1930 during
the presidency of Andrew Jackson. Perhaps best known as the black eye of the administration and
overshadowing his presidency s accomplishments, the Indian Removal Act was passed into law to
allow the president to negotiate with Indians to purchase land they occupied and offer them lands west
of the Mississippi. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 could also amount to pure greed and racism, the
beginning of the arrogance of Americans in the belief that we deserve to take something just because
we want it. Expansion By the early 1800 s with the Constitution firmly in place and the economy
recovering, the population was growing. The settlers desire to expand further West and south met
many hazards, the largest of which being the Native Americans that occupied those lands. Settlers
were eager to raise large cotton and tobacco plantations and Native Americans were seen as an
obstacle. The Indian Removal Act was the result of the settlers petitioning the government for more
land and protection from the Savage Indians to the south and west in present day Mississippi and
Alabama although there were few unprovoked attacks at the time. The need for land to grow more
cash crops was all consuming. An argument could be made that President Jackson held a personal
grudge against the Natives, According to Parins, J.W. and Littlefield, D.F. (2011) He entered the

Herman Cain s mother was a maid, and his father was a chauffeur for Robert Woodruff, president of

Cain experienced significant success at Coca Cola, and later moved to the Pillsbury Company. While
at Pillsbury, Cain switched from information technology to business management. This would be
where Cain got his first real experience in the hospitality field. He was named regional vice president
of their restaurant division, known to many as Burger King. At that time, Cain s region, the
Philadelphia region, was ranked at the bottom of the twelve Burger King groups. To learn the ropes,
he had to start at the grill and other jobs many with master degrees might think were below them.
Within three years of Cain taking over, the Philadelphia region became the highest performing region
in the company. Many would see this as a successful career, but Herman Cain was not done yet.
Actually, he was just getting started in his career.
In 1986, Herman Cain began what would later be known as his most successful position. He was made
President of the Godfather s Pizza chain. Cain once described the condition of the company before he
took over as having one foot in the grave, and one foot on a banana peel . Godfather s had lawsuits, a

head first. He began by closing twenty percent of the chain s restaurant, which resulted in nearly four

Viruses are the worst enemies of farmers. Until now, many viruses continue to attack, and even
become more virulent. They have been inflicting diseases from one squash to the other, making them

biotechnology was established.
In today s time wherein crop pests become more and more pervasive due to climate change, scientists
have discovered the solution to control them, without the farmers having to spend extra cents for

According also to PHTRC (2013), the major provinces or areas, from which they gathered samples, in
the Philippines which grow squash are Central and Southern Luzon, Cebu, Bicol, Samar, Bukidnon,
Misamis Oriental, Davao City, and South Cotabato.
Panlasigui (1991) says enhancing crops and lessening the use of inorganic pesticides, while at the
same time increasing produce and maintaining the earth, are only a few valuable applications of
biotechnology. This is a reason why contrary to popular belief that biotechnology is life threatening, it
is not something to be feared of, instead, it is an innovation that the Philippines is in need of. Looking
at the current conditions of the country, biotechnology assisted squash should be advocated by the
government and squash farmers

Visual Elements In The Film Casablanca
The film, Casablanca, focuses on Rick, who faces lost love, honor and duty, self sacrifice, and
romance, all within a world currently filled with chaos. The bar scene, where Rick drinks alone after
his club closes, represents the sadness he feels after encountering an old acquaintance Ilsa Lund, his
former lover. During the scene, Sam plays As Time Goes by again, the searchlight circles around the
club, and Rick thinks about the past, just before Ilsa comes to see and talk to him. The mise en scène
of the bar scene following Laszlo and Ilsa leaving Rick s nightclub illustrates the shift of Rick s
former character to the man the audience currently sees.
Casablanca contains brilliant visual elements. It is a romantic drama that takes place during World War
II, in a city controlled by France called Casablanca. The city is filled with refugees who are trying to
escape to the United States, dealers selling letters of transit, and French and German officials. In the
beginning of the bar scene, Rick says, Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks

it means that the poem will have an effect on the reader that will continuously stay with them for

I believe that this poem is worth knowing, because it is able to describe fighting for women s equality
is such a unique way that it resonates with the reader more as well as utilizing imagery and symbolism
in such a unique way that it clearly creates a picture in the reader s mind that makes the poems more
enjoyable. Also, this poem is very relatable specifically to women and is very has a very interesting
message, which is to fight for what you believe in no matter the consequences. While Rich s poem,
Planetarium , is worth reading, Rich s Aunt Jennifer s Tigers is also a poem worth reading. Another
poem that I believe is worth reading is Aunt Jennifer s Tigers by Adrienne Rich. In Rich s poem, Aunt
Jennifer s Tigers , the speaker describes Aunt Jennifer s tapestry about tigers, more specifically
drawing attention to the tiger s fearlessness, and how Aunt Jennifer wishes that she could be as strong
and fearless as the tigers. Also, Aunt Jennifer feels that due to her marriage to the Uncle, she prevented
herself from truly living her life and felt as if the marriage trapped her and stopped her from finding
true happiness. For example the quote, Aunt Jennifer s tigers prance across a screen,/Bright topaz
denizens of a world of green./They do not fear the men beneath the tree;/They pace in sleek chivalric
certainty. (Lines 1 4), helps to show fearless the tigers in her tapestry are, because they don t fear men.
Also, it parallels how Aunt Jennifer

Pros And Cons Of Mandatory National Service
The topic of mandatory national service has been around for years now, and there will always be
arguments on whether it should be enforced or not. Some may say that it takes away our freedom, but
is it not what gives us freedom in the first place? The United States military, national service, as well
as community service is based on volunteers. That is what makes this country great, but there are less
volunteers as years go by. Crime increases, streets are not safe anymore, Americans are oblivious to
what is happening around the world. There are so many opportunities to give back to the country, yet,
not many care. Today s generation is based on social trends, and self gratification. There is also the
fact that many young people do not know what to do with their life after high school, some continue to
college or focus on work, others do not work nor study. Therefore, all young men and women should
be required to give two years to national service because it can help solve problems as well as build
the community back together.
Having mandatory national service implies that every young person between ages 18 through 25 will
be required to give back to the country through some type of national service. This includes the
Military, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other nonprofit organizations. It does not necessarily involve
preparing for combat, nor risking a life, but helping those in need, making the world a better place by
taking care of the environment. Everyone should have the obligation to serve. John F. Kennedy ones
said, A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have
what it takes to make a living. Today s military rejects include tomorrows hard core unemployed.
Meaning that national service is something every citizen should be a part of. After all, it provides
young adults with strength and pride of their country, as well as training in the career they are leaning
towards. (Kennedy)
Today s generation think it is okay to treat others with disrespect, and sadly many parents have no
recourse to that kind of behavior. These can be signs to lack of attention. Service activities can help
with emotions and behaviors, ensuring success in people s future. After high

Analysis Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is like a book full of advice to help teenagers who are falling
and is in need of help. The book explains the goods and the bads of each everyday habit that teens use.
The book also gives you ideas and advice to help you start doing these habits the correct way. There is
7 habits that are explained in the book, be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first,
think win win, seek first to understand, then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw. I ve
learned a lot of things from the book like the more you listen the more you gather information to state
your own opinion, which i ve been learned, and make sure to build relationships with everyone so you
can gain trust with that person. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is a good book for people who
are in need of help and it can also make a big difference in life if you follow and do what the habits
say.
The first habit in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is be proactive or being proactive. This habit
technically means to think before you do. What i m trying to say is don t react to everything that
happens to you, like when a car cuts you off on the road, don t yell and scream at that driver, just be
calm and go on with your day. Be like water in a glass, water is calm and relaxed, but don t be like a
soda can that was shaken up by someone, because at some point it s going to build pressure and
explode just like an angry person who has anger issues.

Iraq, is officially named The Republic of Iraq . The country is located in Asia. The media of Iraq was
very under the radar until the year of 2003, after the Iraq war. The laws of having only one news

The statistical reports of Iraq, show that the country is 438,466 square kilometers, but the United
States Department of State publication, says that the country is 434,964 square kilometers.
Geographers divide the country up into four main zones. The First zone, is the desert areas which are
located in the west and southwest of the Euphrates river. It s part of the Syrian desert, which also
covers parts of Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The region, thinly dispersed by pastoral nomads has a
wide stony plain with rare sandy stretches. There is a very stretched out form of wadis from the border
to the Euphrates. Some of the valleys are up to 400 km long, and during the winter rains, they carry
brief but heavy floods. The second major zone, is the rolling uplands. This zone is located between the
Tigris, north of Samarra and the Euphrates north of Hit. This is known as Al Jazirah, or the island. It is
part of a larger area that extends westward into Syria, between the two rivers and into Turkey. The
irrigation in this region is much more difficult. There is also deeply cut valleys in the zone, that water
flows in. Much of this zone may be classified as desert. The third zone is the Highlands. Located in
the northeast, the highlands begin just south of the line drawn from Mosul to Kirkuk, and extends to
the borders with Turkey and Iran. This region consists of high ground separated by

Pros And Cons Of Adderall As A Stimulant
One of the most shocking things that I learned is that Adderall is a stimulant. I knew that Adderall has
an amphetamine base, however, I never made the connection. I know several people from my past and
now that take Adderall, some without a prescription. Knowing that Adderall is a stimulant makes it
seem entirely more dangerous than I saw it before. Adderall is a common drug now, people of all ages
are consumers. Adderall is so common, legally and illegally, that I am sure most people are unaware
of the interactions it can cause with other drugs. Adderall is generally viewed as a harmless drug for
ADD and ADHA, but when you look at it from the perspective of having amphetamine in it, it appears
much more dangerous.

Negro League Baseball Research Paper
Negro League Baseball
When the topic of baseball comes up in a conversation, what do you think of? The field, a bat, the ball,
or amazing plays, crucial games, and game winning performances. What about American history?
Does World War II come to mind; most likely not. According to an article called Food for Thought:
Baseball and American History, John P. Rossi quotes Jacques Barzun saying, Whoever wants to know
the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball. Negro League Baseball can be used to shed
light on the historical experience of African American s in the United States.

Even though most of the committee members were from the North, many of them shared the same
beliefs as the South. They believed that the African American was inferior and not meant to play
baseball in the presence of white men. As the NABBP slowly faded away, another association took a
strong hold over the game. The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was formed
in1871.The NAPBBP took over with flying colors and was geared for a more professional type
league. With the color line still in place the NAPBBP never had a written rule against African
Americas players. Instead, the association enlisted a gentleman s agreement that barred African
Americans from playing in this league and its eventual successor, the National League. Even though
baseball was unchanged about African American participation, they were slowly being accepted in
society. The fifteenth amendment of the constitution was put into effect just a year before the
formation of the NAPBBP. This was extremely critical for African Americans at the time because this
meant that they would now have the right to vote. The amendment was designed to prohibit
discrimination against voters on the basis of race or previous condition of servitude. Prior to this, the
states had had full responsibility for determining voter qualifications. As baseball grew, so did the
African American ambitions to play against other white teams. Moses Fleetwood Walker,

The Importance Of Referent Power In Music
The power to influence people to do something depends on the knowledge I have concerning the thing
and this type of power is called expert power (Hughes, Ginnett, Curphy, 2015). For example, as the
choir director of my church back in Ghana, I have a lot of influence on the choir members as
individuals and the choir as a whole because of my knowledge and experience in music. The
knowledge and experience I have in music wields me more power even over anyone I meet for the
first time doing music. As a result, I influence the songs we sing at church, the commitment level of
the members and decision making processes towards the choir s development.
Referent power is the power that people have over followers because of the relationship between them
(Hughes, et al, 2015). I have a low level in referent power at the beginning of my relationship with
people around me and even at work because of my personality. I am an introvert and it takes a long
time for me to get attached to people around me. For example, when I was working with one of the
universities back in Ghana as the administrative assistant to the liaison officer of the university, it took
about three months for me to get closer to the secretary.
Based on the theory of referent power, the secretary has traits of a referent power. This is because of
the strong relationship that developed between us after I got acquainted to her. Through that, she
influenced my attitude towards handling student complaints about

Driving under the influence
Even though people who drink regularly feel there is no issue with driving after one or two drinks,
people should think about the severe consequences that come from driving under the influence.
Numerous people die every year due to intoxicated drivers. There are ways of avoiding these life
changing risks. Appointing a designated driver before drinking or calling an uber is a smart way to
plan ahead. Unfortunately not everyone takes the initiative to prevent these avoidable circumstances.
There are a large number of wrecks due to drunk drivers. For example, In 2015, 10,265 people died in
alcohol impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one third (29%) of all traffic related deaths in
the United States (Impaired Driving). These crashes are not only harmful, but can also be very
expensive. People who drink and drive typically do not consider the potential costs that will be
incurred if pulled over by police, state highway patrol or sheriff deputies as well as being involved in
an accident or fatal car crash. Drunk driving costs the United States $199 billion per year (Snyder).
This includes the expense of road clean up, medical services, court cases, insurance and much more.
These costs are leading indicators of how extensive and severe drunk driving is making a devastating
financial impact on the American economy.
Drunk drivers tend to be young when caught driving under the

One example of how Alex is resourceful is when he was trapped in a giant aquarium with a dangerous
jellyfish inside. In order to survive he had to use what he had with him. According to the story ¨Alex
held the tube against the metal corners at the front of the tank and did his best to squeeze a long line of
cream all the way down the length of the metal¨ (Horowitz 162) This shows Alex s resourcefulness
because when it didn t look like he was going to survive because he was close to drowning and getting
stung by a poisonous jellyfish he escaped by using a special cream he had to melt through the metal
support beams on the tank which made the tank break open. Another example of how Alex was
resourceful is when he used the karate move that he had learned when he was younger to take down an
armed guard. One example from the text is where it states ¨At that moment Alex struck. It was another
classic karate blow this time twisting his body around and driving his elbow into the side of the mans
head just below the ear. The guard didn t even cry out¨ (Horowitz 140). This shows that Alex is
resourceful because if he wouldn t have knocked to guard out with his special move he most likely
would have either gotten shot by the guard or tortured for spying on the company to find out what they
were doing that they where trying to hide. Through Alex knocking out the guard and Alex breaking

Biological, Psychological, And Social Factors
A bio psychosocial describes an approach systematically considers biological, psychological, and
social factors and their complex interactions in understanding health, illness, and health care delivery.
Biological factors include defective biological processes compounds that lead to biological
dysfunction and illness. Psychological factors are about the individual s emotions, behavior, and
mental processes. Social factors include social status and relations. These factors are all considered in
an attempt to understand the underlying factors of such disease. Sigmund Freud would consider the
social factors in their theories. Behavioral and environmental psychologists ignore the developmental,
biological or psychological aspect of the individual and argue that a human person learns to control
their direct environment in relation to their situations; learning their behaviors with the surroundings
their in. Without combination of other approaches to psychological problems, it is complicated to help
any person with the behavioral model. This is because helping a patient to learn positively rewarding
stimuli without understanding or considering factors like background or biological factor could be
meaningless. Biological approach gives focus on genetically inheritance and the internal body state of
any individual. This could be a good perspective in understanding such problems, but it cannot be
entirely relied upon to explain certain problems. A better approach that would cover

Compare And Contrast Leininger And Kubler Ross
Leininger and Kübler Ross
Theories exist to guide and teach individuals about how and why certain disciplines function. One
discipline that has many theories is nursing. Nursing theories help to guide patient care. For instance,
Madeleine Leininger developed the theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality also known as
transcultural nursing (TCN), which helps nurses to be culturally competent. There are also non
nursing theorists which can add to a nurse s knowledge in caring for their patient. Elisabeth Kübler

421). This takes into account the values of one who is culturally based which encompasses all aspects
of life, worldview, religion, social, language, and economic matters. Culturally based care can make
positive differences in one s health (McFarland, 2014). Leininger s theory encompasses the four
metaparadigms of health, nursing, person, and environment. Her theory supports the aspect of health
by suggesting that patients that are cared for by culturally based care will have better outcomes of
heath and well being. In nursing, TCN keeps the patient at the forefront of the nurse s actions and
helps to guide their care. The person is capable of caring and ultimately cares for others like children,
elderly, and themselves. The environment refers to the physical place where the person lives including
their surroundings which includes their culture and its practices. Leininger (1997) states that as nurses
become educated in TCN they will understand the multiple holistic, social structure and
environmental factors influencing care, health, dying, disabilities and other human conditions related
to both poor and affluent cultures (p.19). Leininger s theory is valued worldwide. This theory gives
nurses a way to treat and care for the many diverse patients that will cross their paths. This theory is a
theory for today and years to come due to the multicultural world in which we live (McFarland, 2014).

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Composite Materials
Composite materials (also called composition materials or shortened to composites) are materials
made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical
properties, that when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual
components. The individual components remain separate and distinct within the finished structure.
The new material may be preferred for many reasons: common examples include materials which are
stronger, lighter or less expensive when compared to traditional materials. In the last decades, the use
of natural fibers as reinforcement in polymeric composites for technical application has been a
research subject of scientist. Interest in natural fibers has increased worldwide due to their low cost,

Essences Of The Groundwork
This problem became the one of essences of the Groundwork,As Thomas hills argues that Kant s
aims in the groundwork are not primarily to illustrate how to apply his formulas to particular
problems, but to the basic presuppositions of practical reason, or to transform his research weight from
first critique to second critique. Since the question on emptiness charge must be taken on more
practical responses, it seems to me Kant has undoubtedly realized this and attempted to mingle the
theoretical and practical issues in Groundwork. For example in order to disentangle practical and
transcendental freedom, Kant introduces another doctrine in the third section of Groundwork. This
doctrine is essentially the same as one finds in the First Critique: ... Show more content on

the moral law in which he does not offer a clear definition of the moral law, since it appears that

The Practicability Of Consumption Led Economy
The Practicability of Consumption Led Economy Based on some basic statistics, such as per capita
GDP and the growth rate of the urban population, Fukumoto and Muto focus on the likelihood that
present day China is roughly at the same stage of economic development as Japan during or prior to
the early 1970 s. In the 1970 s, Japan transformed its economic growth model from investment led to
one led in a more balanced manner through investment, consumption, and exports. Thanks to the
transformation, Japan was able to maintain its stable economic growth after the high growth era of the
1980 s. Thus, in order to duplicate the success of Japan in maintaining high economic growth,
Fukumoto and Muto highlight the importance for China to transform from an investment led to a
consumption led economy. This section focuses on analyzing the sustainability of consumption and
explaining why consumption is able to maintain China s economy in the long run. Lardy points out
that since the beginning of 1990 s, the consumption growth, as a source of economic growth, has
diminished substantially compared with other sources, such as investment and exports. Specifically,
household consumption dropped from slightly more than half of GDP in the 1980 s to an average of
46 percent in the 1990 s. After 2000, household consumption kept decreasing. By 2005, it only
accounted for 38 percent of GDP, the lowest share of any major economy in the world. From the

Terror Management Theory Essay example
Terror management theory (TMT) asserts that human beings have natural tendency for self
preservation if there is threat to one s well being (Greenberg, Solomon, Pyszczynski, 1997). It notes
that we are the cultural animals that pose self awareness on the concept of past and future, as well as
the understanding that one day we will die. We concern about our life and death but aware that it is
unexpected by everything. The worse matter is that we become aware of our vulnerability and
helplessness when facing death related thoughts and ultimate demise (Pyszczynski Greenberg, 1992).
The inevitable death awareness or mortality salience provides a ground for experiencing the existential
terror, which is the overwhelming concern of people s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We react to the death concerns through the acquisition and maintenance of self esteem. Empirical
evidences have established the association between self esteem and cultural worldview. It showed that
individuals with strong culture worldviews have higher self esteem (Solomon, Greenberg,
Pyszczynski, 1991). On the other hand, the research suggested that self esteem is able to serve a death
denying function. If someone is being asked to think about their own death, it would increase their
need for the protection affords by the cultural worldview and the self worth derived from it (Harmon
Jones, Greenberg, Pyszczynski, Solomon, McGregor, 1997). Based on this presumption, TMT derives
a hypothesis anxiety buffer hypothesis, suggesting that self esteem serves as an anxiety buffer against
the mortality salience (Pyszczynski et al., 1999). Anxiety buffer hypothesis posits that self esteem is
an emotional buffer to defend against anxiety (Solomon et al., 1991). There are several significant
evidences to support the claim that self esteem serves as an anxiety buffer function. First of all, there
are large literature review indicated that self esteem is negatively correlated with various measures of
anxiety and the physical and psychological consequences of anxiety. Leary and Downs (1995)

the most popular programming language for the last several decades due to its simplicity and superior

security and reliability have been found to occur due to lack of memory safety of the C programming

Austin, Scott E. Breach, and Gurindar S. Sohi [1]. The idea here is to augment the pointer
representation in memory with the bounds of the pointer s target. Spatial safety is enforced by
checking these bounds whenever a pointer is dereferenced. These fat pointers consist of the following
parameters, value: The value of the safe pointer; it may contain any expressible address., base and
size: The base address of the referent and its size in bytes, storageClass: The storage class of the

frequently experienced stomach upset, nausea and constipation. In the past year, she decided on her
own initiative to wean herself off morphine and she does not plan to resume taking opioids for her
chronic pain problems.
Past trials of adjuvant pain medications may have failed to control the pain because of factors such as
a sub therapeutic dose or duration of the medication. We reviewed the role of duloxetine in the
management of both neuropathic and nociceptive pain conditions and suggested a retrial of this SNRI.
She agreed with our recommendation and began a 2 week trial of duloxetine, 30mg/day, which she
tolerated well, thus; her dose was subsequently increased to 60mg/day, the usual effective dose for
both pain and mood.
During her admission, we also discussed trialing a course of oral cannabinoids as an alternative
treatment as she does have chronic pain with

Chapter 28 Cpt Coding
Chapter 28 CPT
CPT coding is to make sure the patient is getting billed for the correct services that was rendered. The
Tabular list is a compilation of codes divided in different categories: Category I, II, III. Category I is
the basis of CPT codes. Category II is used for tracing information. Category III is short term codes
for collection of services rendered and procedures. There are 15 appendices that are used as guides.
Modifiers help report situations. Locating codes are done by finding the main term. Assess
information provided such as notes and terms. Locate the code. Guidelines are presented in the front
of the sections. Special instructions help point out rules on how to use codes. Instructional notes are
located in parentheses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Codes are divided because of the location of sinuses. Endoscopy can be performed three different
ways; transnasal, transnoral, and transorbital. Occasionally, procedures are grouped by size, type or
differences.
Chapter 39 Cardiovascular Pacemakers can be short term or long term. Batteries for pacemakers hold
up for about 5 to 15 years. Nonselective catheter is approached through the aorta or vessel. Selective
catheter is approached through a vessel going to the aorta then proceeds to other arteries that sector
from the aorta to vessels that need fixing. Coding for selective catheter is from the greater distal area.
Second branch order is the subclavian artery.

Comparison Of The Parson And The Canterbury Tales
In Chaucer s famous novel: The Canterbury Tales, he describes many characters in a satirical way,
while others he describes with complete admiration. The narrator (a constructed version of Chaucer
himself) is staying at the Tabard Inn in London, when a large group of about twenty nine people enter
the inn, preparing to go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury. After the narrator talks to them, he agrees to
join them on their pilgrimage. Although, before the narrator progresses any further in the tale, he
describes the circumstances and the social rank of each pilgrim. There are two characters in these tales
of the same social class, but Chaucer s opinion on them vary greatly. These two characters are the
beloved Parson, and the loathed Pardoner. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From this description alone, one can tell that the Parson truly views himself as the caretaker of
believing souls. He takes his responsibility extremely seriously. Associating the Parson with characters
like the Friar, Monk, Prioress, Pardoner, and Summoner makes those characters appear even more
covered with sin and selfishness. The Parson s presence on the pilgrimage is needed. Without him,
there would be no idea of what a religious figure should be, while, with him, we have a nearly Christ
like view of comparison. Who truly know Christ s gospel and would preach it devoutly to
parishioners, and teach it. Benign and wonderfully diligent, and patient when adversity was sent.
(Chaucer, 491 494). As for Chaucer s views of society, Chaucer clearly does not have an issue with the
church class itself. Rather, he knows there are some corrupt souls and people who do not deserve to be
a part of the church. The Parson is the ideal person that belongs in this class, and it is obvious that
Chaucer understands religion, and has nothing against it. He only frowns upon the deceitful church
members, who are only a part of the church for selfish gain. The Pardoner is another church class
member that is described by Chaucer. Except, Chaucer has some strong feelings about this particular
man. The pardoner sells pardons for sins, and also travels with the summoner while simultaneously
singing a duet with him. This man seemed to be normal, until Chaucer describes this man as

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Primary And Primary...
Primary and secondary data collection methods The researcher needs different methods to collect the
data for their research, so the main method that I used it is secondary data collection. In this section, I
will explain each method, and I will provide some advantages and disadvantages for it. Firstly,
primary method means when the research collect the data directly through communication with
participants or observation, and the researcher did it. There are different types of a primary method
such as interview, questionnaire, focus group interview, and Delphi techniques (scarff, 2013). The
advantage of this approach is, it related and focused on the problem to achieve specific goals without
wasting the resources. Also, it s more accurate and original because there is no bias and it collected by
the researcher. However, the disadvantages are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Temple of Heaven
The layout and architecture of the Temple of Heaven is filled with symbolism. According to symbolic
tradition, Heaven is round and the earth is square. Therefore, all of the buildings in the temple
complex are round in shape, while their retaining walls and the axis are square. The surrounding walls
of the complex also reflect these traditions. The southern side of the wall is square and the northern is
round. The emperor would enter the temple complex from the south and this would symbolize his
transition from earth to heaven.
The glazed roof tiles of the major buildings in the temple complex are blue, symbolizing heaven.
Other buildings have green or yellow roof tiles. The green tiles represent Buddhism and the yellow

Twice a year, the emperor, along with thousands of eunuchs, ministers, and princes would proceed to
the Temple of Heaven. The emperor would fast in the Hall of Abstinence located near the Hall of
Prayer for Good Harvests for several days. He would live in the complex during the ceremonies. The
entire country relied on the emperor for good harvests and weather. The ceremonies were prepared for
months in advance and it was believed that it had to be perfectly performed because the smallest
mistake would be a bad omen for the coming year. If there was a year of flooding or famine, the
people would believe that the emperor had fallen out of favor with heaven, so it was of extreme
importance for the emperor to ensure everything went perfectly. Outside of the Hall of Prayer for
Good Harvests, the emperor would personally use oxen to plow a few rows to symbolize the first
plowing and planting of the season. At the Imperial Vault of Heaven, the emperor would pray to the
Emperor of Heaven and his ancestors, and on the Circular Mount altar, he would pray to heaven for a
year of good weather and luck. All of these rituals ensured that the emperor and the empire would be
prosperous.
Currant Usage For centuries, no commoner was allowed to look inside the Temple of Heaven. Today it
is open to the public and has become a beautiful park that is as popular with locals as with tourists.
The complex is very large and the areas around the temples are large and filled with

Post Secondary Education For The United States
Post secondary education in the United States is often viewed as a necessary step towards financial
security mostly for those who take part in it. The introduction of the GI Bill in the year 1944 labeled
the post secondary education as a larger part of the American dream because it acted as a ticket
towards economic security. Today, approximately 20 million students in the United States are in
pursuit of a bachelor s degree, masters, or any other type of higher level education such as
certifications and specialized courses (Friss, 2012). This elevated number of students interested in
becoming educated denotes that the cost of advanced education has and will simultaneously continue
to increase. Therefore, this fact has its pros and cons depending on the career of choice and especially
depending on how much one receives in return once entered the workforce. Students in America
pursue post secondary education for a diversity of motives. Most do it for economic stability and
consequently tend to develop a profession for the sake of earning an income as their primary goal.
Comfortable living accompanies such motive, action which leads individuals to wish to obtain a
substantial life where they may enjoy financial freedom. Some students look for a broad, liberal arts
education, while others become focused on a specific career. However, there are students who simply
enroll to take one or two classes for the joy of learning and/or keeping up with their skills. Great

Journey- Patricia Grace, the People Before- Maurice...
Analyse how the lack of a clear outcome in at least TWO short stories you have studied makes the
stories successful for you: Journey by Patricia Grace and The People Before by Maurice Shadbolt both
look at land confiscation and compensation cases that occurred during the early colonization of New
Zealand and their modern relevance today. Although both these authors approach this similar topic
differently, both stories lack a clear outcome. This is particularly effective for us as readers because it
causes us to revaluate our preconceptions and prejudices regarding this issue and draw our own
conclusions. We quickly discover the difficulty of reaching a truly successful outcome, and can
therefore see the relevance that these types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He goes to the Wellington office to explain the issue to these representatives and feels that the Mana
associated with his age in the Maori culture will ensure that he has respect amongst the Pakeha people,
enabling him to explain his case better than the rest of his family who have already tried to resolve the
issue. However again the Pakeha are unable to see his values in land or his ideas and continue to
demand that there ll be no more subdivision and that the family will receive compensation for their
losses. It is at this point that Grace makes the situation at hand more complex for readers because she,
like Shadbolt, presents us with two equally valid by utterly different sides. Patricia Grace causes
conflict in the office because the European of the time, represented by the developer, see land as
something of monetary value and security, making them unable to comprehend the old Maori man s
concept that the land is your stamping ground and that when all your ties are to that place, there is no
equal land . However the old man, who has been brought up to believe that land was something that
had deep historical and spiritual connections, cannot understand the young developer s idea of
exchanging his land for equivalent land or monetary compensation . In this story, Grace show us as
readers how these contradicting values result in anger and frustration

  • 2. How Does Hassan Show Loyalty In The Kite Runner As in society now, trust, loyalty, and redemption are big factors of life. These three themes shape The Kite Runner. To gain one s trust, one s actions in situations plays a big part. From keeping secrets to even saving a bus seat for a friend, it is definitely something that takes time to gain. Loyalty, however, is something in which time is denied to play a factor. Loyalty is more of something people can decide on. With trust, we can gain accidentally or surprise ourselves with. But with loyalty, it s more of something that people set their mind to. Just like in The Kite Runner, Hassan is more than anything loyal to Amir and trusts him. However, Amir trusts Hassan but is not loyal to him as he throws him in the dirt multiple times. But even with numerous accounts of betrayal, the social factors that separated Amir and Hassan kind of forced Hassan to be loyal. I thought Hoesseini did a great job defying two morals in this story, trust and loyalty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amir breaks Hassan s trust in this story multiple times but Amir stays loyal to him through it all. Amir sees the assault of Hassan, but fearing the confrontation of the bullies, he does nothing. I saw this as an act of betrayal where even Amir recognizes himself that he is not loyal to Hassan. I even see that it affected him on his road to adulthood also. However, Amir seemed not to be disturbed with his actions until the kite incident happened. But even as much as Amir felt guilty for his actions toward Hassan, the class divisions between their families made it nearly impossible for him to act how he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cannon to the right of them/ Cannon to the left of them The Charge of the Light Brigade has long held its place in the public imagination. According to Denis Cummings, it is a symbol of heroic failure, a Victorian icon of sacrifice and devotion to duty. The poem itself is a modified and dramatic depiction of what the war was like. The poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade revises the real horrors of the war by rendering it into more dramatic, motivational, and personal events. Getting struck by one of those horses can end your life, but these soldiers raced to protect their country and to defeat their opponent. Not only does vocabulary affect the dramaticism of the story, it gives a lifelike experience of what the war was like. The effect of personalization can change how the story is accepted and understood. The article could have just said that there were dead bodies, but it states, The plain was strewed with their bodies and with carcasses of horses. (89) Poetry typically delivers events more deeply and memorably than the original. The Charge of the Light Brigade renders the horrors by making it more dramatic, patriotic, and personal. Conceivably, The Charge of the Light Brigade does not emphasize and thoroughly describe the original story. Perhaps best known as the black eye of the administration and overshadowing his presidency s accomplishments, the Indian Removal Act was passed into law to allow the president to negotiate with Indians to purchase land they occupied and offer them lands west of the Mississippi. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 could also amount to pure greed and racism, the beginning of the arrogance of Americans in the belief that we deserve to take something just because we want it. Expansion By the early 1800 s with the Constitution firmly in place and the economy recovering, the population was growing. The settlers desire to expand further West and south met many hazards, the largest of which being the Native Americans that occupied those lands. Settlers were eager to raise large cotton and tobacco plantations and Native Americans were seen as an obstacle. The Indian Removal Act was the result of the settlers petitioning the government for more land and protection from the Savage Indians to the south and west in present day Mississippi and Alabama although there were few unprovoked attacks at the time. The need for land to grow more cash crops was all consuming. In poetry, there are many poems that stand out to the readers for many different reasons, whether it be the poem s overall message or being able to relate personally with the poem, which causes the reader to remember that poem and deem the poem worth knowing . When a poem is deemed worth knowing , it means that the poem will have an effect on the reader that will continuously stay with them for many years to come and that the reader is able to form a connection with that the reader wants to share with other people. In Rich s poem, Aunt Jennifer s Tigers , the speaker describes Aunt Jennifer s tapestry about tigers, more specifically drawing attention to the tiger s fearlessness, and how Aunt Jennifer wishes that she could be as strong and fearless as the tigers. Also, Aunt Jennifer feels that due to her marriage to the Uncle, she prevented herself from truly living her life and felt as if the marriage trapped her and stopped her from finding true happiness. For example the quote, Aunt Jennifer s tigers prance across a screen,/Bright topaz denizens of a world of green./They do not fear the men beneath the tree;/They pace in sleek chivalric certainty. • 21. Pros And Cons Of Mandatory National Service The topic of mandatory national service has been around for years now, and there will always be arguments on whether it should be enforced or not. Some may say that it takes away our freedom, but is it not what gives us freedom in the first place? The United States military, national service, as well as community service is based on volunteers. That is what makes this country great, but there are less volunteers as years go by. Crime increases, streets are not safe anymore, Americans are oblivious to what is happening around the world. There are so many opportunities to give back to the country, yet, not many care. Today s generation is based on social trends, and self gratification. There is also the fact that many young people do not know what to do with their life after high school, some continue to college or focus on work, others do not work nor study. Therefore, all young men and women should be required to give two years to national service because it can help solve problems as well as build the community back together. Having mandatory national service implies that every young person between ages 18 through 25 will be required to give back to the country through some type of national service. This includes the Military, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other nonprofit organizations. It does not necessarily involve preparing for combat, nor risking a life, but helping those in need, making the world a better place by taking care of the environment. Everyone should have the obligation to serve. John F. Kennedy ones said, A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living. Today s military rejects include tomorrows hard core unemployed. Meaning that national service is something every citizen should be a part of. After all, it provides young adults with strength and pride of their country, as well as training in the career they are leaning towards. (Kennedy) Today s generation think it is okay to treat others with disrespect, and sadly many parents have no recourse to that kind of behavior. These can be signs to lack of attention. The Importance Of Referent Power In Music The power to influence people to do something depends on the knowledge I have concerning the thing and this type of power is called expert power (Hughes, Ginnett, Curphy, 2015). For example, as the choir director of my church back in Ghana, I have a lot of influence on the choir members as individuals and the choir as a whole because of my knowledge and experience in music. The knowledge and experience I have in music wields me more power even over anyone I meet for the first time doing music. As a result, I influence the songs we sing at church, the commitment level of the members and decision making processes towards the choir s development. Referent power is the power that people have over followers because of the relationship between them (Hughes, et al, 2015). I have a low level in referent power at the beginning of my relationship with people around me and even at work because of my personality. I am an introvert and it takes a long time for me to get attached to people around me. For example, when I was working with one of the universities back in Ghana as the administrative assistant to the liaison officer of the university, it took about three months for me to get closer to the secretary. Numerous people die every year due to intoxicated drivers. There are ways of avoiding these life changing risks. Appointing a designated driver before drinking or calling an uber is a smart way to plan ahead. Unfortunately not everyone takes the initiative to prevent these avoidable circumstances. There are a large number of wrecks due to drunk drivers. For example, In 2015, 10,265 people died in alcohol impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one third (29%) of all traffic related deaths in the United States (Impaired Driving). These crashes are not only harmful, but can also be very expensive. People who drink and drive typically do not consider the potential costs that will be incurred if pulled over by police, state highway patrol or sheriff deputies as well as being involved in an accident or fatal car crash. Drunk driving costs the United States $199 billion per year (Snyder). This includes the expense of road clean up, medical services, court cases, insurance and much more. In the 1970 s, Japan transformed its economic growth model from investment led to one led in a more balanced manner through investment, consumption, and exports. Thanks to the transformation, Japan was able to maintain its stable economic growth after the high growth era of the 1980 s. Thus, in order to duplicate the success of Japan in maintaining high economic growth, Fukumoto and Muto highlight the importance for China to transform from an investment led to a consumption led economy. This section focuses on analyzing the sustainability of consumption and explaining why consumption is able to maintain China s economy in the long run. Lardy points out that since the beginning of 1990 s, the consumption growth, as a source of economic growth, has diminished substantially compared with other sources, such as investment and exports. Specifically, household consumption dropped from slightly more than half of GDP in the 1980 s to an average of 46 percent in the 1990 s. After 2000, household consumption kept decreasing. On the other hand, the research suggested that self esteem is able to serve a death denying function. If someone is being asked to think about their own death, it would increase their need for the protection affords by the cultural worldview and the self worth derived from it (Harmon Jones, Greenberg, Pyszczynski, Solomon, McGregor, 1997). The value attribute is the only safe pointer member that can be manipulated by the program source; all other members are inaccessible. base and size are the spatial attributes. storageClass and capability are the temporal attributes. 1.2 CCured CCured is a program transformation system that adds memory safety guarantees to C programs. It was proposed by George C. Necula, Jeremy Condit, Matthew Harren, Scott Mcpeak, and Westley Weimer[2]. This approach classifies pointers as WILD, SEQ and SAFE depending on their usage modes. On admission, Ms. Kelly complained of low back pain ranging in intensity from 7 to 8, out of 10, on the pain scale where 0 is no pain and 10 is the worst imaginable pain. She subjectively describes this pain as throbbing, stabbing, burning and radiating down into both legs, left worse than right. In addition, she has sharp, stabbing, burning pain in both her arms, left worse than right, and experiences intermittent tingling and numbness sensations in both her hands. To treat symptoms of insomnia or anxiety, she has had trials of lorazepam, clonazepam and temazepam, and in 2016, quetiapine in doses of 25 50mg per day was prescribed. In reviewing medications, Ms. Kelly mentioned that many of the drugs previously prescribed were either not effective in relieving the pain or caused her to feel unwell. While taking morphine, she frequently experienced stomach upset, nausea and constipation. In the past year, she decided on her own initiative to wean herself off morphine and she does not plan to resume taking opioids for her chronic pain problems. Past trials of adjuvant pain medications may have failed to control the pain because of factors such as a sub therapeutic dose or duration of the medication. We reviewed the role of duloxetine in the management of both neuropathic and nociceptive pain conditions and suggested a retrial of this SNRI. She agreed with our recommendation and began a 2 week trial of duloxetine, 30mg/day, which she tolerated well, thus; her dose was subsequently increased to 60mg/day, the usual effective dose for both pain and mood. During her admission, we also discussed trialing a course of oral cannabinoids as an alternative treatment as she does have chronic pain with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Comparison Of The Parson And The Canterbury Tales In Chaucer s famous novel: The Canterbury Tales, he describes many characters in a satirical way, while others he describes with complete admiration. The narrator (a constructed version of Chaucer himself) is staying at the Tabard Inn in London, when a large group of about twenty nine people enter the inn, preparing to go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury. After the narrator talks to them, he agrees to join them on their pilgrimage. Although, before the narrator progresses any further in the tale, he describes the circumstances and the social rank of each pilgrim. There are two characters in these tales of the same social class, but Chaucer s opinion on them vary greatly. These two characters are the beloved Parson, and the loathed Pardoner. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this description alone, one can tell that the Parson truly views himself as the caretaker of believing souls. He takes his responsibility extremely seriously. Associating the Parson with characters like the Friar, Monk, Prioress, Pardoner, and Summoner makes those characters appear even more covered with sin and selfishness. The Parson s presence on the pilgrimage is needed. Without him, there would be no idea of what a religious figure should be, while, with him, we have a nearly Christ like view of comparison. Who truly know Christ s gospel and would preach it devoutly to parishioners, and teach it. Benign and wonderfully diligent, and patient when adversity was sent. (Chaucer, 491 494). As for Chaucer s views of society, Chaucer clearly does not have an issue with the church class itself. Rather, he knows there are some corrupt souls and people who do not deserve to be a part of the church. The Parson is the ideal person that belongs in this class, and it is obvious that Chaucer understands religion, and has nothing against it. He only frowns upon the deceitful church members, who are only a part of the church for selfish gain. The Pardoner is another church class member that is described by Chaucer. Except, Chaucer has some strong feelings about this particular man. The pardoner sells pardons for sins, and also travels with the summoner while simultaneously singing a duet with him. This man seemed to be normal, until Chaucer describes this man as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Primary And Primary... Primary and secondary data collection methods The researcher needs different methods to collect the data for their research, so the main method that I used it is secondary data collection. In this section, I will explain each method, and I will provide some advantages and disadvantages for it. Firstly, primary method means when the research collect the data directly through communication with participants or observation, and the researcher did it. There are different types of a primary method such as interview, questionnaire, focus group interview, and Delphi techniques (scarff, 2013). The advantage of this approach is, it related and focused on the problem to achieve specific goals without wasting the resources. • 45. Post Secondary Education For The United States Post secondary education in the United States is often viewed as a necessary step towards financial security mostly for those who take part in it. The introduction of the GI Bill in the year 1944 labeled the post secondary education as a larger part of the American dream because it acted as a ticket towards economic security. Today, approximately 20 million students in the United States are in pursuit of a bachelor s degree, masters, or any other type of higher level education such as certifications and specialized courses (Friss, 2012). This elevated number of students interested in becoming educated denotes that the cost of advanced education has and will simultaneously continue to increase. Therefore, this fact has its pros and cons depending on the career of choice and especially depending on how much one receives in return once entered the workforce. Students in America pursue post secondary education for a diversity of motives. Most do it for economic stability and consequently tend to develop a profession for the sake of earning an income as their primary goal. Comfortable living accompanies such motive, action which leads individuals to wish to obtain a substantial life where they may enjoy financial freedom. Some students look for a broad, liberal arts education, while others become focused on a specific career. However, there are students who simply enroll to take one or two classes for the joy of learning and/or keeping up with their skills. Great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analyse how the lack of a clear outcome in at least TWO short stories you have studied makes the stories successful for you: Journey by Patricia Grace and The People Before by Maurice Shadbolt both look at land confiscation and compensation cases that occurred during the early colonization of New Zealand and their modern relevance today. Although both these authors approach this similar topic differently, both stories lack a clear outcome. This is particularly effective for us as readers because it causes us to revaluate our preconceptions and prejudices regarding this issue and draw our own conclusions. Patricia Grace causes conflict in the office because the European of the time, represented by the developer, see land as something of monetary value and security, making them unable to comprehend the old Maori man s concept that the land is your stamping ground and that when all your ties are to that place, there is no equal land .
