Primary And Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency
Adrenal Insufficiency This paper describes the differences between primary and secondary adrenal
insufficiency. As health care providers it is important to be able to distinguish between the two and to
know how to treat the patient. It is also imperative that an acute adrenal crisis can be recognized. This
paper will discuss how to recognize and treat adrenal insufficiency.
Primary adrenal insufficiency Primary adrenal insufficiency occurs when the adrenal glands fail to
release glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids, despite the release of adrenocorticotrophic hormone
(ACTH) from the pituitary, and may be fatal if untreated (Griffing, 2015). Margulies (2015) describes

Hamrahian, A.H., 2010). Other clinical and laboratory manifestations of primary adrenal insufficiency
are presented in Table 1.
Evaluation
A medical history is very important if the patient has any symptoms mentioned above, especially
hyperpigmentation of the skin or gums, it is often enough to raise a strong suspicion, prompting the
appropriate tests. The following tests are appropriate to order to diagnose adrenal insufficiency: Serum
chemistry, abnormalities are present in as many as 56% of patients. Hyponatremia is common
although not diagnostic; hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis, and hypoglycemia also may be present.
However, the absence of laboratory abnormalities does not exclude the diagnosis of adrenal crisis.
Serum cortisol, less than 20 mcg/dL in severe stress or after ACTH stimulation is indicative of adrenal
insufficiency. ACTH test which is diagnostic, determine baseline serum cortisol, then administer
ACTH 250 mcg intravenous push (IVP), and then draw serum cortisol 30 and 60 minutes after ACTH
administration. An increase of less than nine mcg/dL is considered diagnostic of adrenal insufficiency.
CBC, anemia mild and nonspecific, lymphocytosis, and eosinophilia highly suggestive may be
present. Serum thyroid levels, assess for

Research Paper On Unbroken
Unbroken is the story of Louie Zamperini, a kid from a small midwestern town who experiences the
highest of highs and the lowest of lows in his astounding life. Louie had to work his absolute hardest
to make the qualifying time for the 1937 Berlin Olympics. It took all of his willpower to survive forty
seven days stranded on the ocean and then another two years under extreme torture in a Japanese
POW camp. Finally after returning home he had to face his own demons in a battle with alcoholism
and save his failing marriage. I believe that the book Unbroken shows perseverance, hard work, and
faith can help you achieve all of goals in life and help you through any challenges life may throw at
you. To begin with Louie had a hard upbringing. He was one of four kids born to Italian immigrants
Anthony and Louise Zamperini. He was often bullied because of his parent s nationality and the way
he and his family spoke. He was always in some kind of trouble, claimed his mother. The police
caught him once, at age twelve, drinking bourbon out a milk bottle painted white. One day when his
mother had had enough of his antics she instructed his older brother to take Louie outside and make
him run until he learned his lesson. This became a daily occurrence Louie would get in trouble and he
would have to run longer every time. Then eventually came a time when he was running so much he
had no time to get in trouble and was too exhausted to start fights. This went on for about a year

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Essay
The Transportation Security Administration, more commonly known as TSA, is a part of the United
States Department of homeland Security that supervises and manages the safety of travelers in the
United States. Unlike other government operated tasks forces such as the military or FBI whose as
been in existence since (), the TSA was only recently founded twelve years ago in 2001 after the
devastating terroristic attack that took place in New York city s twin towers earlier that year. There are
more than forty eight thousand people employed by the TSA in airports, bus stations, railroads and
freeways across every state, but you may never realize when they are nearby. Some have the typical

Sharp objects like razors, scissors or tools weren t seen as a threat. Even guns were allowed if you had

consisted of families and friends waving goodbye or welcoming tem with open arms as a loved one
came home or set off on a new chapter of their life. Times have definitely changed, and for good
reason. A majority of people are familiar with the world news that occurred on September 11, 2001
when two airplanes flew into the Twin Towers of New York, a massive terroristic attack that killed
thousands of people in a matter of minutes. At the time of tis tragedy, there were many reports saying
passengers on the crashing planes were in a hostile situation before the crash. Men from another
country were aboard the plan with knives and took control of the pilot, freighted the passengers and
ultimately crashed the planes in an orchestrated manner. These events caused a blood chilling wave
across America and pushed the Bush Administration to take action in avoidance of tis ever happening
again, this brought on the foundation of what we now know as the TSA in December of 2001, merely
three months after the incident. President W. Bush was in office at the time and honorably placed John

Compare And Contrast Rome And Greek Government
One thing constantly happening is this world, modern and past, is change. Ancient Greece and Ancient
Rome were no exceptions. Although these two great civilizations were similar, idealism and conquests
resulted in changes between their government, art, and religion.
Greece had three common forms of government, these were monarchy, oligarchy, and democracy. The
reason for many different types of government across Greece was due to the geography. The ancient
Greek city states were separated from each other by hilly countryside and all were near the water.
(http://ancienthistory.about.com). Because of the lack of motorboats, transportation between the city
states would have been timely and difficult. This resulted in small changes such as different
governments across the civilization.
In comparison, Rome also had a couple forms of government. Ancient Rome was a republic, but as
they conquered territory, Rome gathered part of the civilizations cultures and added it to their own.
For this reason Rome s government is a mixed Republican form ... Show more content on

Romans still worshipped similar to the Greeks where a sacrifice was offered, worshipped in temples,
but the Romans held more festivals than the Greeks did. Unlike Greece, where there was only one
main religion, in Rome at this time, other religions were starting to develop. Christianity had begun to
be preached in Rome and they were gaining congregations. The Christians often experienced fierce
persecution and took refuge in the catacombs of the cities; when discovered, they most often chose a

Beasts Of The Southern Wild Character Analysis
The film Beasts of the Southern Wild, directed by Behn Zeitlin, is set in Montegut, Louisiana, known
by the residents as the bathtub, and follows a young girl named Hushpuppy as her home is flooded.
She lives with her father, Wink, and her many, many animals. The bathtub is separated from the rest of
the world by a levee built to restrain water from entering the mainland. Both Wink and Hushpuppy are
incredibly happy with their lives, though Wink is slowly deteriorating from an unknown illness.
However, when a storm falls upon their home, its destruction changes everything. Many of the
residents of the bathtub evacuated before the storm; only Wink, Hushpuppy, and a few other families
decided to stay and tough out the storm. Soon after it ends, Wink s health begins to decline rapidly.
Even though Hushpuppy is scared for her father, she continues working hard, striving to save her
home from destruction. In her head, Hushpuppy animates aurochs, mythical creatures, as a way to deal
with her father s upcoming death, suggesting that people s natural instinct is to resist change through
illusion. Throughout the movie Hushpuppy s emotions are represented through the aurochs journey
toward her home. As the aurochs travel closer and closer, she becomes closer to accepting her father s
death. The images shown of where the aurochs are, how they move, and where they are traveling to,
all help to show Hushpuppy s different methods of coping with Wink s death.

Stars Always Shining Summary
As one reaches adulthood, one reaches a level of sense of self identity and understanding of their
status in society that one will come into agreement with. In Stars Always Shining, the author Rick
Rivera explores the idea of belonging in society through the use of the characters and the influences of
the environment. The main character, Placido along with his assisting characters, Michelle and
Salvador, struggle with finding their place amongst society along with their relationships amongst
each other and their bosses, Jacqueline and Mickey. In the beginning, we are shown how
confrontational Mitchell, or Mitch, and Jacqueline are as they first get to know each other. Although
Mitch tries to impress the owners with her vast knowledge she comes off as knowing more than the
owners. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Pg 182) We can see the first revelation this interview yielded was that Jacqueline did not like
Michelle s confidence. (Pg 195) Nevertheless, Mitch and Placido, or Place, being mere employees
seeking for work, are needed to be reminded by Jacqueline and Mickey constantly throughout the
story, that they, being the owners of the ranch and the ones investing into StarRidge Ranch, are the
ultimate decision makers. As we move along in the plot, we verge on the realizations of the internal
struggles many of the characters are dealing with to figure out where they belong in their relationships
and with society around them. Mitch attempts to leave the world of law, she first believed she wanted,
but struggles to get back to the world she grew up with, caring for the animals and the earth. Place
comes to realize that he doesn t know if he fits in society as a Chicano American or a Mexican. He
grew up a field worker with his family, but lost that part of his life and culture as he grew up and
studied in college. He isn t able to express himself freely as an American to Jacqueline and Mickey but
also has troubles understanding much of what Salvador has to say about the Mexican life and

A Plan-Based Theory Of Strategic Communication Analysis
As a building principal, I am in a perpetual state of building relationships. Each day I cope with the
uncertain outcome of daily conversations with a variety of stakeholders. Reading the chapter on
uncertainty reduction theory (URT), I recognized many approaches I use when meeting a new person.
Charles Berger s URT addresses cognitive rather than behavioral uncertainty reduction. Behavioral
reduction regards questions related to how to act when first meeting someone. Cognitive reduction has
to do with ways to gather information when you first meet someone. Berger developed 8 axioms, key
variables to grow relationships. Additionally, he generated twenty eight theorems based on the
outcomes of combined axioms. Both the axioms and the 28 extensions provide the background for
Berger s work A Plan Based Theory of Strategic Communication . This plan seeks to help guide one
through the process of using communication to reduce uncertainty. ... Show more content on

They are goal driven. Because of this, Berger suggests strategies, message plans, that can be used to
help us deal with the uncertainty. Plan complexity, seeking information (passive, active, or through
interactions), and hedging are all strategies. These are all strategies I have used, most often, due to the
spontaneity of many of my conversations, I use the interactive strategy. Often, I will use humor in an
attempt to hedge. I have found a smile to be extremely helpful in reducing uncertainty when engaging
in that first conversation. None of Berger s theory surprised me. Reading the Afifi s critique of Berger,
the idea that we are more motivated reduce anxiety rather than uncertainty during first time
encounters. I may be missing something, but I think anxiety and uncertain y go hand in

The Prevalence, Etiology, And Treatment Of Eating Disorders
Eating disorders seem to have become more common during the latter half of the 20th century, during
a period of American beauty icons becoming thinner and women s magazines publishing more articles
on methods for weight loss (Garner, Garfinkel, Schwartz, Thompson, 1980). Dissatisfaction with one s
own body a result of the increasingly thin depictions of female body shapes in the mass media has
been mainly attributed to the Caucasian young female population (Striegel Moore, Silberstein, Rodin,
1986). To date, there has been relatively little empirical research investigating the prevalence, etiology,
and treatment of eating disorders in ethnic minorities. Additionally, studies investigating the direct link
between acculturation of Asian American individuals in Western societies and eating disorder
symptomology have failed to find a consistent correlation. Intuitively, researchers have suggested a
positive relationship between acculturation, the adoption of characteristics, beliefs, ideals and values
of the host culture (Gowen, Hayward, Killen, Robinson, Taylor, 1999), and disordered eating
symptomology in Asian Americans but the studies have yielded mixed findings. Therefore, there
appear to be other factors influencing the development of eating disorder symptomology in Asian
Americans, including self esteem and the drive for thinness.
The purpose of the current project is two fold. First, I will identify the prevalence of eating disorder
symptomology in Asian American

Identification Techniques Used for Firearms, Tool Marks,...
Since the early 20th century, the practice of firearm and toolmark identification or comparison has
been a crucial factor in forensic science. Agencies such as the FBI have introduced a standard
operating procedure which helps to identify weapons and toolmarks. There are certain criteria that
must be met to be considered a match. These criteria include multi level matching of the items brought
from the scene of a crime with the test specimens. (http://www.fbi.gov/about us/lab/forensic science

Examiners may photograph the mark. Liquid silicone material is best used to cast the mark. However,
some fine details may still be lost in the cast. It is imperative that a crime scene investigator never
attempt to fit a suspect tool into a mark (Saferstien, p. 233). Should this happen, the mark may become
altered and then the integrity of the evidence would be compromised. Best practice suggests
packaging the tool and mark separately and to make sure that neither comes into contact with another
hard surface so as to not damage characteristics.
Occasionally, investigators may find other types of impressions left at a crime scene. This evidence
may take the form of a shoe, tire, or fabric impression. (Saferstien p. 235). It is crucial that the
impression is preserved, and photographed with a scale. Several photographs should be taken that
show obvious detail. A reproduction of the impression should be made and sent to the lab for
investigation. If this is not possible, impressions may be preserved and lifted. Lifting material placed
over an impression, or even a more advanced material that involves an electrostatic lifting device
along with Mylar is available to help transfer it to a film.
Finally, impressions may be cast using a form of gypsum, used for tire or shoe marks, or Snow
Impression Wax, for impressions in the snow (Saferstein, p. 238). In the case

Conditional Probability In Patients
What the patient and the physician really want to know in this context is the reverse conditional
probability. Conditional on having survived with no evidence of further disease progression for some
given period of time elapsed since undergoing a potentially curative intervention how likely is it that
the intervention was successful and that the patient really was cured? From a Bayesian analysis
individually tailored posterior cure probability curves may be constructed. They are a function of time
elapsed since undergoing a potentially curative treatment without evidence of further disease
progression. The likelihood of cure increases monotonically with elapsed time. For a while following

continually rises over time depicts a hopeful and optimistic future, rather than the depressing future
depicted by an always declining survival curve. If and when the disease reemerges, but only then must
the patient and the physician abandon the cure curve and substitute the patient s individually tailored

similar to the characters in his romance novels. This story is an amusing and adventurous tale with
creative plot and characters. Irony and symbolism play a huge part in this book. These elements put a
unique and enjoyable twist on perspective of characters. Cervantes usually portrays peasant characters
in a better light than the richer folk. This also made some characters more enjoyable. For example, the

Perfect Model Body Research
All around the world, women are starving themselves to get the perfect model body. In the USA, 89%
of teenage girls feel as if fashion industry is pressuring them to be skinnier. What if that was your

some men are the same way, but most men pressure these women into getting a model body . Don t
you think it s getting out of hand when models are dying in Europe from anorexia related problems?
Thirty years ago, the beautiful Marilyn Monroe had an ideal body. She was a size 14. Today, the
average plus size model is a size 6. Most teenage girls are a size 3! How would teenage girls feel if
they were a size 6 or 7? They would feel as if they weren t beautiful. On average, american women

Discuss the Future of Human Geography with Reference to...
Discuss the future of human geography with reference to the approaches that have emerged since the
1950s.
Geography found its roots during periods of exploration when man s knowledge of the world was still
subject to the imagination. For many decades, Europe and the British Empire in particular formed
much of what cartography is today, and environmental determinism was widely used to serve
imperialist needs. Many ideas and theories were highly influenced and composed by upper class
academics and soon critiques were formed. During the mid 1930s, environmental determinism lost
much of its support and regional geography fell into to favour. Soon however, regional geography was
also criticised due to its limiting scope and constricting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pattinson hoped that through a widened willingness to conceive of and discuss the field in terms of
these traditions, geography will be better able to secure the inner unity and outer intelligibility (W.
Pattinson, 1964). This approach to geography aimed to quell the discourse that was prevalent within
geography and tried to pave a clearer way for geographies future. On the other hand, thinking in such
a law based manner, restricts dynamic thinking, which is where human geography draws its strengths.
I felt that Pattinson still asked more how than why but he certainly helped promote the growth of
geography.
Subsequently, The Big Questions was an article written to try and stimulate thoughts of for the future
as well as trying to gain the attention of the media and the public eye. Susan L. Cutter, Reginald
Golledge and William L. Graff wanted to create a dialogue for the future whilst tackling questions that
already plagued the discipline of geography. As for the future of geography, this article ask some
thought provoking questions such as when does geography start and finish? (S.L. Cutter, R.Golledge,
W.L.Graff, 2002) and what are likely to be the major problems of doing the geography of other
planets? (S.L. Cutter, R.Golledge, W.L.Graff, 2002) If we are to answer or even begin to answer these
questions, we must draw upon the past and in particular what has transgressed over the 60 years.

Research Paper On Teddy Bear
The teddy bear was appeared in two parts of the world at about the same time. In 1903 in Germany,
Margarete Steiff made toy animals out of felt scraps in a small factory owned by her family. Her
nephew, asked her to make a bear similar to his sketches of bears at the zoo. She did not want a toy
bear to scare children, so she modified the bear s features. She used brown mohair to create a bear
whose head, arms, and legs could move independently so that the bear would be more like a real
animal and could sit or stand. He was stuffed with wood shavings and had shoe button eyes with
embroidered nose and mouth. The bear was displayed at a toy show in Germany, which caught the
attention of an American toy buyer, who ordered 3,000 bears. Now

about more fires every year and why are they burning longer. Wildfire are getting harder to fight and
are costing us a lot more money to fight. Wildfire are becoming more common and are taking longer

On a nice hot July day in the middle of the drought all it takes is one spark from your chain dragging

How Does Technology Influenced Popular Culture
In this essay the topic popular culture in line with technology will be discussed between the time
periods of 1945 until present day. Technology can be described as machinery and devices developed
from scientific knowledge, and is the branch of knowledge that deals with engineering or the applied
sciences. The essay will cover what was popular during these eras, what had influenced technology
throughout the time zones and what the positives and negatives of technology were at those times.
In 1945 to the 1950s the main influence of this era was World War 2. This influence led to advances in
technology through weaponry during the war. An example of this weaponry includes the creation of
the atomic bomb, and the hydrogen bomb in 1945 and 1952 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Evaluate the factors that influenced the result of the 2010 UK general Election.
For the purpose of this essay, I will be evaluating the factors that influenced the result of the 2010 UK
general election. The general election was held on Thursday 6th May 2010 and was the first election
since 1974 to result in a hung parliament, as no party achieved the 326 seats needed to for an overall
majority.
The three main parties were the Conservatives, whose party leader was and still is David Cameron,
Labour, whose party leader was Gordon Brown and the Liberal Democrats, whose party leader was
and still is Nick Clegg. The party with the highest share of seats were the Conservatives, who
achieved 307 seats out of a possible 650. The party with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research by Whiteley and Seyd (2002) backs up this claim as they note that the decline in party
membership and party activism has been documented by grass roots party members in the UK for over
ten years. Whiteley (2006) further supports this claim as he notes that there has been a weakening of
partisan attachments within the electorate, and that over time there has been a long term decline
towards party identification. He goes on to note that in 1964, when surveys first started to be used,
almost 50% of the electorate had strong party identification towards a particular political party, but by
2001 this had reduced to only 13% of the electorate. He concluded by saying that although party
identification had clearly declined over the years, the majority of voters still have some form of
partisan attachments, although clearly a lot weaker than it once was. Meaning voters can now be more
easily persuaded to switch parties. Research by Budge, Newton, McKay and Bartle (1998) also show
that there has been a decline in party identification. They state that between the years 1945 to 1970,
44.8% of the electorate described themselves as being Conservative, 46.8% as Labour, 7.1% as
Liberal Democrats and only 1.3% identified themselves as having attachments with other smaller
parties. However, in 2005 Conservative

Alison Sulloway
In the article Jane Austen and the Province of Womanhood, Alison Sulloway is illustrating the
background of Jane Austen s life and prompting reasons as to why and how Austen became the type of
writer that it was in which she became. In the beginning of the article, Sulloway demonstrates Austen
s advanced style of writing through direct quotations of some of Austen s most popular works. Some
of these works from Austen suggest the type of life she lived, or perhaps was forced to live due the era
in which she grew up constituted for a male gender based influenced/controlled society, such as
hopeless sorrow, or she usually wrote in depressed spirits. In fact, Sulloway does not to fail to

In her opening statement, Austen illustrates the the reasoning for marriage at this time, It is a truth
universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a
wife (Austen 9). For nearly everyone in the eighteenth century, marriage was seen as a business. A man
seeked a wife solely because it was seen as a requirement to be viewed as a resectable addition to
society. Once a man asked a woman for her hand in marriage, the woman would almost always
immediately accept, as it was valued as an honor for a woman to be desired for this type of role. Her
family was to pay her future husband a sum of money in which he saw suitable. Austen s protagonist,
Elizabeth Bennet, contradicts this belief. She finds it ridiculous and in a way humorous that men and
women actually find a status such as this something of honor. In contrast, Elizabeth Bennet feels
marriage should be something that holds greater value than a price tag and a measurement of one s
worthiness for a good reputation, but rather she feels it should be based off of feelings that a man and
woman share for one another. As said by Elizabeth herself, The true perfection of man lies not in what
he has, but in what he is. Jane Austen constructs a way in which Elizabeth Bennet mocks marriages
formulated in the ways in which she disagrees

increased in size and complexity and national society depends heavily upon a high level of power
system reliability. When the bulk transmission system is subjected to large disturbances there is the
possibility of a system wide blackout due to cascading outages. After a partial blackout or system
breakdown condition, restoring power system is needed and then power needs to be restored as
quickly, stability and reliability as possible and consequently. Outage time after extensive blackouts
depends very much on the power system restoration process. Power system restoration is a very
challenging task to the operator since the situation is so far from normal conditions. This paper
proposes a simulation based tool MATLAB/SIMULINK that determines suitable restoration
transmission lines route with using Fuzzy Inference System for IEEE 6 Bus System Keywords

The Disciplinary Dilemma Of Tourism Studies
Summary of the Disciplinary Dilemma of Tourism Studies
Introduction
The study of the tourism phenomenon is a relatively recent addition in academic to achieve a goal.
Five main academic disciplines in tourism research have been identified by Jafari and Ritchie (1981)
which are economics, sociology, psychology, geography, and anthropology. A survey that conducted
by Sheldon from North American tourism and hospitality researchers showed that journal from wide
variety of disciplines were published and referenced included economics, business studies, marketing,
psychology, anthropology, and geography. Despite the diversity of disciplines impacting on tourism
studies, Pearce (1993) suggests that a greater tolerance for eclectic and diverse approaches to
investigated the pre paradigmatic study areas, such as tourism.

The argument about the development of disciplinary in tourism study is unlikely to be determined in

Emergency Medical Services ( Emergency Care )
As you may know, it does not matter where you are in the United States of America, you have the
opportunity to call 911 and receive emergency medical care. Depending on where you are when you
make that call may have an effect on how long it takes for someone to get to you. So, what defines the
word emergency? Is it a life threading situation, or just an everyday illness? Community Paramedicine
has many benefits, from helping cut down on people being re admitted to the hospital, to helping
people not misuse the emergency 911 system even if they do not realize they are doing so. Some
people may not realize that different emergency medical services run anywhere from one thousand
calls a year to one million calls a year. Community Paramedicine can help the so called frequent flyers
to where they do not call as much and they are more independent thus freeing up time, money, and
resources. For paramedics to respond to those life threating emergencies.
Emergency medical services has 4 levels of certification. Emergency medical responder, emergency
medical technician, advanced emergency medical technician, and paramedic. Progressing at each level
you gain more skills, responsibility, and knowledge, but all of which are within emergency and urgent
care. Some people get tired and burned out faster than others. Putting Community Paramedicine into
the mix adds another level as well as provides opportunity for paramedics that have twenty plus years

Criticism In Animal Farm And The Prophet s Hair
Literature generally reflects life. It doesn t just describe the events; it creates characters and conflicts
to help the reader better understand the meaning of the events. Modern literature is often linked to
ideology, either supporting or discriminating it. George Orwell s Animal Farm and Salman Rushdie s
The Prophet s Hair are among the literary texts that attack the ideologies, Communism and Islam
respectively. Even though the texts are written in the genres that are usually used to support the
principles and ideas of the philosophy they promote, Animal Farm and The Prophet s Hair undermine
these philosophies. There are certain similarities in the way G.Orwell and S.Rushdie discriminate the
ideologies in question; however, some differences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, the tone of describing events and characters in both texts is sarcastic. Humorous undertone
is expressed by different means: caricatures, contrasts and hyberbolisations in Animal Farm; high
diction and exaggeration in The Prophet s Hair ( procession , endless ululating crocodiles of
lamentation , ramifications , massive police search ). Moreover, both protagonists, Napoleon and
Hashim, are obsessed with the idea. Napoleon puts in place any means to achieve his goal; and
Hashim becomes a different person, betraying his own principles, in order to satisfy the requirements
of his new ideas. Worship of the ideology, be it Communism or Islam, is at the core of the conflicts. In
addition, both characters use their ideologies, but not common sense and consciousness, to justify their
acts. Napoleon s every new decision, even the most abnormal, is supported by Surely, comrades, you
do not want Jones back? ; by Jones implying the old regime. After these words every argument
becomes unanswerable. For his part Hashim uses religion to justify his greed and passion. He tells
himself: ...the Prophet would have disapproved mightily of this relic worship: he abhorred the idea of
being deified, so by keeping this rotting hair from its mindless devotees, I perform do I not? a finer

artifacts or objects that show either the direct or indirect interactions between Chaco Canyon and
Mesoamerica; also why people might have chosen to adopt the culture. Every objects have different

1040 1120. They are undoubtedly of West Mexican origin (Vargas 1995) and can be dated according
to chronology there (Hosler 1994) (Nelson 2006:249). The copper bells found in Chaco Canyon have
a significant different of the interaction directness; this might suggests that these came from many
sources. The raw materials for copper bells may have existed at the American Southwest area;
however, there is no evidence that native people obtained the metals and made it into objects (Nelson
2006). One thing for sure is the Toltecs are not the source of the copper bells because the copper
objects were not manufactured in West Mexico until the Late Post classic, long after the fall of the
Toltecs. In fact, Because copper bells are more common in the Hohokam and Mimbres regions than in
Chaco Canyon (Vargas 1995, 2001), Chacoans likely obtained the West Mexican bells through some
form of indirect interaction, with people in the southern Southwest serving as intermediaries (Nelson
2006:360). Sometimes copper bells are considered as the evidence of mercantile exchange; however,
they are too infrequent in Chaco Canyon to be considered as a commodity. Similarly with the shell
bracelets, they are not usually considered Mesoamerican artifacts because they abound in the
Hohokam region and evidence of their production is found within the region also (Nelson 2006).
Moreover, the Hohokam bracelets have the designs and styles very similar to the Mesoamerican
motifs and seems to occur in contexts that contain other Mesoamerican objects. As result, the
Chacoans might have obtained the shell bracelets through manufactured and intermediaries from the
Hohokam region. One more evidence is the abundance amount of decorated bracelets is in ca. 900
1150, which is the same time with the Hohokam products appeared elsewhere most

explain why overachievers or people who want to be perfect are stuck in this little box of perfection
and that we need to get out. Being Wrong is one of the most natural things us as humans can do. It is
something that everyone of us has done at one time or another, no one is ever perfect. And if so why

Barger feels that being wrong is just human nature, and that no matter how intelligent or what position
you hold in society you will not always be right.
Barger explains his personally connection of why he believes in uncertainty. He is an evangelical
Christian and a pastor, that struggled to accept the fact that he is gay since it was against the
fundamentals of his religion. He was so certain that he wasn t homosexual for years but in the process
he was actually hurting himself. Barger tells us that his belief in uncertainty is becoming greater due
to all the certainty around him, for example religious leaders or members are very certain that their
actions whether it be acts of terrorism or war will guarantee their place in heaven or with their gods.
Certainty can drive people to do crazy things and to Barger it can almost be like your mind is in a
prison, but just the simple act of being uncertain can make a man a better person.

Peritoneal Dialysis Research Paper
Peritoneal dialysis catheter placement is a surgery to insert a thin, flexible tube (catheter) in your
abdomen. This surgery must be done before you begin peritoneal dialysis. Dialysis is a treatment that
replaces some of the work that healthy kidneys do. During dialysis, wastes, salt, and extra water are
removed from the blood. In peritoneal dialysis, these tasks are performed by transferring a fluid called
dialysate to and from your abdomen during each session. The fluid goes through the catheter to enter
the abdomen at the start of each dialysis session, and it drains out of the body through the catheter at

INTRODUCTION
It was 20 April 2014, I had just finished preaching my first sermon on Easter Sunday as the newly
appointed pastor of New Creation AME Church, and as I looked around at an empty church with 20
people in a facility that could hold 250 people, instantly my heart sunk and my spirit became vexed as
the frustration of the moment slowly began to sink in. Admittedly, I almost burst out into hysterical
laughter when I thought about how I had been hoodwinked into believing that I was being assigned to

I thought and prayed over the next several weeks and honestly I complained and vented to few of my
pastoral colleagues about the situation; but the truth of the matter was that they too needed consoling
given the fact that they also were struggling with similar battles. Then it dawned on me, why was I
complaining? I thought to myself, if I was truly called to ministry by God then anything I place my
hand upon can and would be blessed. That is, only if I would begin to exercise greater faith and trust
in God; shedding my disbelief only to dawn a new outlook on the path of church leadership. After all,
God has place unique and specially gifts inside the hearts and spirits of all of his children. It was from
that moment that I began to pray and talked with God with frequency taking to heart the words written
in the Gospel of Matthew 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be,
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also . I had not consider the heart of God nor the

African American Vernacular English
African American Vernacular English Background: African American Vernacular English (AAVE) is
the variety previously known as Black English Vernacular or Vernacular Black English by
sociolinguists, and commonly called Ebonics outside the academic community. However, some
characteristics of AAVE are seemingly unique in its structure. It also includes a number of standard
and nonstandard English varieties are spoken by the US and the Caribbean people. AAVE has been the
core of many public debates and also the analysis of this variety has encouraged and sustained debates
amongst sociolinguists. Some speakers may use some special aspects of pronunciation and
vocabulary. Nevertheless, the grammatical features are not connected with the variety. Several
sociolinguists would reserve the term AAVE for varieties which are marked by the existence of
specific distinctive grammatical features and some of them are discussed below. The history of AAVE
and what language varieties it is related to are also a matter of argument. Some scholars confirm that
AAVE developed out a connection between speakers of West African languages and speakers of
vernacular English varieties. According to such an opinion, West Africans learnt English on
plantations in the southern Coastal States from very few native speakers. Some say that this led to the
development of a rudimentary pidgin, a very simple language which has been extended through a
process of colorization later. VOCABULARY: AAVE

Betrayal In Kelly Link s The Summer People
Betrayal Have you ever been betrayed by someone that you trusted? The Summer People , a fairy tale
short story written by the author Kelly Link, portrayed the characters in a way that be can be greatly
related. Throughout the story, she used several literary elements, such as symbols, allusions, and
dictions to help the readers to understand the moral of the story. The main character, Fran, was bonded
with the faith to be the caretaker of the summer people, and there is no possible way that she can
escape from them. Despite the kindness of her friend, Ophelia, Fran decided to use her to gain
freedom from the summer people. Ophelia has always been truthful to Fran, even though Fran bullies
her during the beginning of the story. At the end, Ophelia was betrayed by Fran and forced to take

Asylum Seekers Essay
The Howard government s difficulty in rebuilding the relationship with Indonesia was partly due to
their megaphone diplomacy (Capling 2008: 613). Howard s rhetoric after election in 1997, moved
away from Labour s enthusiastic engagement with Asia, and towards a perception of an Australia less
interdependent with Asia, emphasizing Western liberal democratic ties (Jones and Benvenuti 2006:
111). East Timor had reinforced the Indonesian perception that Australia had an arrogant neo colonial
foreign policy (Day 2015: 675). Yet, the burgeoning democracy following the fall of Suharto in 1999
gave the opportunity for better dialogue (Robert and Hadir 2015: 197). The 2001 Tampa affair became
a stumbling block, as Howard publically criticized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Australia and Indonesia increased their joint military exercises to ten in 1998 1999, beofre they were
cancelled following the East Timor crisis (Singh 2002: 126). Also, clearly linked to the crisis, was the
16th September 1999 abrogation by the Indonesian government of the AMS (Commonwealth of
Australia 2000: 195). The October 2002 terrorist bombing attack in Bali, killing 202 people including
88 Australians was a turning point. Based on pragmatism and shared interest in combatting terrorism
the relationship reemerged when the Australian Federal Police and the Indonesian authorities
cooperated in investigation the incident (Day 2015: 676) Building close security relations became a
priority in light of the new terrorism threat, creating the successful Bali Process (Day 2015: 676).
2013 finally saw the return of military engagement to pre East Timor crisis heights (Robert and Hadir
2015: 198).
However, the domestic sphere is vital to Australian policy and must be engaged to improve relations
with Indonesia. A 2013 survey of the Australian public commissioned by DFAT in 2013 found that
53% of Australian believe Indonesia is not a democracy and 54% believe Australia is right to worry
about Indonesia as a military threat (Roberts and Habir 2015: 205). This is worrying as domestic
support does effect on Australian foreign policy (Stephens and Gruber 2010: 38) Australian generosity,
diplomacy and funding have been the most successful method of deepening relations

Benefits Of An Limited Liability Company From A Legal...
The LLC remains a limited liability company from a legal standpoint, but for tax purposes it can be
treated as an S Corp. Be sure to contact the state s income tax agency where you plan to file your
election form. Ask about the tax requirements and if they recognize elections of other entities (such as
the S Corp).
Advantages of an LLC:
Limited Liability. Members are protected from personal liability for business decisions or actions of
the LLC. This means that if the LLC incurs debt or is sued, members personal assets are usually
exempt. This is similar to the liability protections afforded to shareholders of a corporation. Keep in
mind that limited liability means limited liability members are not necessarily shielded from wrongful
acts, including those of their employees.
Less Recordkeeping. An LLC s operational ease is one of its greatest advantages. Compared to an S
Corporation, there is less registration paperwork and there are smaller start up costs.
Sharing of Profits. There are fewer restrictions on profit sharing within an LLC, as members distribute
profits as they see fit. Members might contribute different proportions of capital and sweat equity.
Consequently, it s up to the members themselves to decide who has earned what percentage of the
profits or losses.
Disadvantages of an LLC:
Limited Life. In many states, when a member leaves an LLC, the business is dissolved and the
members must fulfill all remaining legal and business obligations to close

Safe Injection Sites
In an ally, doorway, or behind a telephone pole, people crouch to inject their deadly dose of cocaine,
heroin, and other drugs, oblivious to the daytime traffic on a nearby street. This is the day to day life
of the drug users in downtown Vancouver; do you think there is nothing that can be done? Well, there
is. Safe injections sites are a clean, safe, supervised environment where drug users can inject their own
drugs off the streets, and connect to addiction, health and community services. InSite is the first and
only supervised injection site in North America (InSite for Community Safety). InSite is located at
139 East Hastings Street, in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. More safe injection sites will

It is encouraging to know the fact that no instances of syringe lending or borrowing were observed
among individuals who reported performing all injections within the safe injection site... (M.W.
Tyndall et al.). Drug users that go to InSite for their injections are less likely to lend a syringe to
someone else. Ninety four percent of frequent safe injection site users refused to lend out a syringe in
the last six months compared to the eighty nine percent of infrequent users. This is because InSite
users benefit from safer injecting education. Approximately eighty percent of safe injection site users
practice safer injection (i.e. reusing syringes less often, injecting indoors, and using clean water and
equipment). This is also because of learning about safer injecting. The transmission of blood borne
diseases has been reduced and will continue to if more safe injection sites are opened in the Lower
Mainland. The number of safe injection sites in the Lower Mainland must increase immediately. More
safe injection sites will reduce the transmission of blood borne infections, will notably reduce public
injections and improve public order, and will greatly reduce overdose fatalities. More safe injection
sites are needed in our city as soon as possible; action must be taken immediately. Works Cited Kerr,
Thomas , Mark W. Tyndall, Calvin Lai, Julio S.G. Montaner, and Evan Wood. Drug related overdoses

The Domestic Policies of Diefenbaker and Pearson
Essay Plan Compare and contrast the successes and failures of the domestic policies of Diefenbaker
and Pearson
John George Diefenbaker and Lester Bowles Pearson both acted as Prime Minister of Canada during
the Cold War. The two were from different Canadian political parties that accorded to their beliefs and
principles, Diefenbaker being a Progressive Conservative party member and Pearson a Liberal.
Diefenbaker was leaning left as a Conservative, similarly to Eisenhower, who was presiding at the
time, and thus shared a fair relationship with him, though the same could not be said for the US in
general; Pearson s administration presided also along a Democratic administration in the US, though
they clashed often due to the American actions in the Vietnam War. Diefenbaker was elected to office
as his party held the greatest proportion in the Parliament, however, he won only with a minority.
During his administration, Diefenbaker implemented policies that were considered liberal, most of
which he was able to pass, in contrast to Pearson, who only succeeded in passing near half of his due
to the majority he lacked most times in the House of Commons. Both Diefenbaker and Pearson had
political experience before they became PMs, they also share a similarity in that they attempted to
solidify Canada as a nation and to remove the hyphenation in Canadian citizenship; both achieving
success in varying extents. However, Diefenbaker shared differing views on Canadian dependence and

Lord Of The Flies Vs Peter Pan Essay
Lord of the flies vs. Peter Pan In the books Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and Peter Pan by
J.M. Barrie, they share similar characteristics throughout the story and in the characters themselves.
Lord of the Flies takes place on a deserted island where about 20 British boys ages eight to thirteen,
have crashed on a jungle like island during World War II. The boys find themselves in many dilemmas
such as a fire, shelter and most importantly a need for authority and order. Unlike Lord of the flies,
Peter Pan, tells the tale of a boy who doesn t want to grow up and lives on the magical island called
Neverland with the Lost Boys, who are children who want to join Peter on his quest for never leaving
childhood to become stuck up and disciplinary adults. What is an island? most people in real life now
days think of a beautiful, tropical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both of these stories that is just not the case. Let s start with Peter Pan, Neverland is a compact
place for adventures, with wild Red Indians in the woods, mermaids in the lagoon, and pirates in the
river and of course Peter and the lost boy gang. They make their home there with only fear of captain
hook and the dreaded adulthood. They live in harmony with very little conflict amongst themselves. It
was roughly boat shaped: humped near this end with behind them the jumbled descent to the shore.
On either side rocks, cliffs, treetops and a steep slope: forward there. The length of the boat, a tamer
decent, tree clad, with hints of pink: and then the jungly flat of the island, dense green, but drawn at
the end to a pink tail. There, where the island petered out in the water, was another island; a rock,
almost detached, standing like a fort, facing them across the green with one bold, pink bastion
(Golding 27). The boys on the island in Lord of the flies situation is completely different. It was
roughly boat shaped: humped near this end with behind them the jumbled descent to the shore. On

Jacksonian Democracy Dbq Essay
Jacksonian Democrats help create a more democratic America and because of this, believed
themselves to be many things, real and fictional. In most cases they perceived themselves as defenders
of equal economic opportunity, even though they sometimes put their own interests before those of the
people. They also thought of themselves as guardians of political democracy, while at the same time
using class differences to their advantage and emotionalized speeches, lacking real intellectual merit,
to stir support. Jacksonian Democrats felt that they were the protectors of the Constitution and of
individual liberties but many times they put their rivalry with the Northeastern industry and Whig
politics before these things. While Jacksonians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The case Charles River Bridge v. Warren Bridge decided that a charter given a person or group to do a
service does not allow that group to have complete rights over this service. This decision supports the
Jacksonian Democracy ideas that the rights of the community are more important than the rights of
business (H). However, it is also important to know that Taney was elected by Jackson, and his
decision, well supporting economic equality, also set a precedent for states intervention in commerce.
The Jacksonian Democrats were very important in the revolutions in political democracy that took
place during this period. During this period universal white male suffrage took place and was the first
step towards the revolution of the common man in politics. Also, Jackson s acceptance and support of
the two party system helped create a more democratic America in which people with similar views
could unite in their support of a singular candidate. Many working men of this time period had felt
they had been taken advantage of and misrepresented by tyrannical aristocrats who treated them
poorly (A). Jackson used this to his advantage with emotionalized speeches exploiting class
differences. However, it should be said that during this time period the amount of voters increased
dramatically which means that more Americans were involved in American politics (D). Jackson s use
of the Kitchen Cabinet kept his knowledge of critics and the wants and needs of the people up

Speed Control of SE.D.C Motor using IMC (Simulation done on LabVIEW) Salim
salimnitk@gmail.com Abstract: SEDC motors are used extensively in industrial variable speed
applications because of most demanding speed torque characteristics and are simple in controlling
aspects. This paper presents an implementation of internal model control (IMC) for speed control of
separately excited SEDC motor based on LabVIEW. A mathematical model of the process has been
developed using real plant data and then conventional controller has been designed. A comparative
analysis of performance evaluation of controller has been done. Key Words: SEDC Motor, IMC,
LabVIEW. 1 Introduction DC motors are widely used in industrial applications, robot manipulators
and home appliances, because of their high reliability, flexibility and low cost, where speed and
position control of motor are required. This paper deals with the performance evaluation of internal
model control method with a clear objective to control the speed of separately excited DC motor. In
this paper, Speed of a SEDC motor is controlled using IMC. Separately excited DC motors are highly
versatile and flexible in aspects of speed control. The basic property of separately excited DC motor is
that speed of separately excited DC motor can be adjusted by varying its terminal voltage. Therefore,
the separately excited DC motor control is better than other kinds of motors. SEDC motor is a highly

  • 3. Primary And Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency Adrenal Insufficiency This paper describes the differences between primary and secondary adrenal insufficiency. As health care providers it is important to be able to distinguish between the two and to know how to treat the patient. It is also imperative that an acute adrenal crisis can be recognized. This paper will discuss how to recognize and treat adrenal insufficiency. Primary adrenal insufficiency Primary adrenal insufficiency occurs when the adrenal glands fail to release glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids, despite the release of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) from the pituitary, and may be fatal if untreated (Griffing, 2015). Margulies (2015) describes primary adrenal insufficiency, also known as Addison s disease, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hamrahian, A.H., 2010). Other clinical and laboratory manifestations of primary adrenal insufficiency are presented in Table 1. Evaluation A medical history is very important if the patient has any symptoms mentioned above, especially hyperpigmentation of the skin or gums, it is often enough to raise a strong suspicion, prompting the appropriate tests. The following tests are appropriate to order to diagnose adrenal insufficiency: Serum chemistry, abnormalities are present in as many as 56% of patients. Hyponatremia is common although not diagnostic; hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis, and hypoglycemia also may be present. However, the absence of laboratory abnormalities does not exclude the diagnosis of adrenal crisis. Serum cortisol, less than 20 mcg/dL in severe stress or after ACTH stimulation is indicative of adrenal insufficiency. ACTH test which is diagnostic, determine baseline serum cortisol, then administer ACTH 250 mcg intravenous push (IVP), and then draw serum cortisol 30 and 60 minutes after ACTH administration. An increase of less than nine mcg/dL is considered diagnostic of adrenal insufficiency. CBC, anemia mild and nonspecific, lymphocytosis, and eosinophilia highly suggestive may be present. • 4. Research Paper On Unbroken Unbroken is the story of Louie Zamperini, a kid from a small midwestern town who experiences the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in his astounding life. Louie had to work his absolute hardest to make the qualifying time for the 1937 Berlin Olympics. It took all of his willpower to survive forty seven days stranded on the ocean and then another two years under extreme torture in a Japanese POW camp. Finally after returning home he had to face his own demons in a battle with alcoholism and save his failing marriage. I believe that the book Unbroken shows perseverance, hard work, and faith can help you achieve all of goals in life and help you through any challenges life may throw at you. To begin with Louie had a hard upbringing. He was one of four kids born to Italian immigrants Anthony and Louise Zamperini. He was often bullied because of his parent s nationality and the way he and his family spoke. He was always in some kind of trouble, claimed his mother. The police caught him once, at age twelve, drinking bourbon out a milk bottle painted white. One day when his mother had had enough of his antics she instructed his older brother to take Louie outside and make him run until he learned his lesson. This became a daily occurrence Louie would get in trouble and he would have to run longer every time. Then eventually came a time when he was running so much he had no time to get in trouble and was too exhausted to start fights. This went on for about a year before ... A majority of people are familiar with the world news that occurred on September 11, 2001 when two airplanes flew into the Twin Towers of New York, a massive terroristic attack that killed thousands of people in a matter of minutes. At the time of tis tragedy, there were many reports saying passengers on the crashing planes were in a hostile situation before the crash. Men from another country were aboard the plan with knives and took control of the pilot, freighted the passengers and ultimately crashed the planes in an orchestrated manner. These events caused a blood chilling wave across America and pushed the Bush Administration to take action in avoidance of tis ever happening again, this brought on the foundation of what we now know as the TSA in December of 2001, merely three months after the incident. • 7. Compare And Contrast Rome And Greek Government One thing constantly happening is this world, modern and past, is change. Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome were no exceptions. Although these two great civilizations were similar, idealism and conquests resulted in changes between their government, art, and religion. Greece had three common forms of government, these were monarchy, oligarchy, and democracy. The reason for many different types of government across Greece was due to the geography. The ancient Greek city states were separated from each other by hilly countryside and all were near the water. (http://ancienthistory.about.com). Because of the lack of motorboats, transportation between the city states would have been timely and difficult. This resulted in small changes such as different governments across the civilization. In comparison, Rome also had a couple forms of government. Ancient Rome was a republic, but as they conquered territory, Rome gathered part of the civilizations cultures and added it to their own. • 8. Beasts Of The Southern Wild Character Analysis The film Beasts of the Southern Wild, directed by Behn Zeitlin, is set in Montegut, Louisiana, known by the residents as the bathtub, and follows a young girl named Hushpuppy as her home is flooded. She lives with her father, Wink, and her many, many animals. The bathtub is separated from the rest of the world by a levee built to restrain water from entering the mainland. Both Wink and Hushpuppy are incredibly happy with their lives, though Wink is slowly deteriorating from an unknown illness. However, when a storm falls upon their home, its destruction changes everything. Many of the residents of the bathtub evacuated before the storm; only Wink, Hushpuppy, and a few other families decided to stay and tough out the storm. Soon after it ends, Wink s health begins to decline rapidly. Even though Hushpuppy is scared for her father, she continues working hard, striving to save her home from destruction. In her head, Hushpuppy animates aurochs, mythical creatures, as a way to deal with her father s upcoming death, suggesting that people s natural instinct is to resist change through illusion. Throughout the movie Hushpuppy s emotions are represented through the aurochs journey toward her home. As the aurochs travel closer and closer, she becomes closer to accepting her father s death. The images shown of where the aurochs are, how they move, and where they are traveling to, all help to show Hushpuppy s different methods of coping with Wink s death. In the beginning of the ... • 10. A Plan-Based Theory Of Strategic Communication Analysis As a building principal, I am in a perpetual state of building relationships. Each day I cope with the uncertain outcome of daily conversations with a variety of stakeholders. Reading the chapter on uncertainty reduction theory (URT), I recognized many approaches I use when meeting a new person. Charles Berger s URT addresses cognitive rather than behavioral uncertainty reduction. Behavioral reduction regards questions related to how to act when first meeting someone. Cognitive reduction has to do with ways to gather information when you first meet someone. Berger developed 8 axioms, key variables to grow relationships. Additionally, he generated twenty eight theorems based on the outcomes of combined axioms. Both the axioms and the 28 extensions provide the background for Berger s work A Plan Based Theory of Strategic Communication . This plan seeks to help guide one through the process of using communication to reduce uncertainty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are goal driven. I have found a smile to be extremely helpful in reducing uncertainty when engaging in that first conversation. None of Berger s theory surprised me. • 11. The Prevalence, Etiology, And Treatment Of Eating Disorders Eating disorders seem to have become more common during the latter half of the 20th century, during a period of American beauty icons becoming thinner and women s magazines publishing more articles on methods for weight loss (Garner, Garfinkel, Schwartz, Thompson, 1980). Dissatisfaction with one s own body a result of the increasingly thin depictions of female body shapes in the mass media has been mainly attributed to the Caucasian young female population (Striegel Moore, Silberstein, Rodin, 1986). To date, there has been relatively little empirical research investigating the prevalence, etiology, and treatment of eating disorders in ethnic minorities. Additionally, studies investigating the direct link between acculturation of Asian American individuals in Western societies and eating disorder symptomology have failed to find a consistent correlation. Intuitively, researchers have suggested a positive relationship between acculturation, the adoption of characteristics, beliefs, ideals and values of the host culture (Gowen, Hayward, Killen, Robinson, Taylor, 1999), and disordered eating symptomology in Asian Americans but the studies have yielded mixed findings. Therefore, there appear to be other factors influencing the development of eating disorder symptomology in Asian Americans, including self esteem and the drive for thinness. The purpose of the current project is two fold. First, I will identify the prevalence of eating disorder symptomology in Asian American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the early 20th century, the practice of firearm and toolmark identification or comparison has been a crucial factor in forensic science. Agencies such as the FBI have introduced a standard operating procedure which helps to identify weapons and toolmarks. There are certain criteria that must be met to be considered a match. These criteria include multi level matching of the items brought from the scene of a crime with the test specimens. (http://www.fbi.gov/about us/lab/forensic science communications/fsc/july2009/review/2009_07_review01.htm). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Examiners may photograph the mark. Liquid silicone material is best used to cast the mark. However, some fine details may still be lost in the cast. It is imperative that a crime scene investigator never attempt to fit a suspect tool into a mark (Saferstien, p. 233). Should this happen, the mark may become altered and then the integrity of the evidence would be compromised. Best practice suggests packaging the tool and mark separately and to make sure that neither comes into contact with another hard surface so as to not damage characteristics. Occasionally, investigators may find other types of impressions left at a crime scene. This evidence may take the form of a shoe, tire, or fabric impression. (Saferstien p. 235). It is crucial that the impression is preserved, and photographed with a scale. Several photographs should be taken that show obvious detail. A reproduction of the impression should be made and sent to the lab for investigation. If this is not possible, impressions may be preserved and lifted. Lifting material placed over an impression, or even a more advanced material that involves an electrostatic lifting device along with Mylar is available to help transfer it to a film. Geography found its roots during periods of exploration when man s knowledge of the world was still subject to the imagination. For many decades, Europe and the British Empire in particular formed much of what cartography is today, and environmental determinism was widely used to serve imperialist needs. Many ideas and theories were highly influenced and composed by upper class academics and soon critiques were formed. Pattinson hoped that through a widened willingness to conceive of and discuss the field in terms of these traditions, geography will be better able to secure the inner unity and outer intelligibility (W. On the other hand, thinking in such a law based manner, restricts dynamic thinking, which is where human geography draws its strengths. I felt that Pattinson still asked more how than why but he certainly helped promote the growth of geography. Subsequently, The Big Questions was an article written to try and stimulate thoughts of for the future as well as trying to gain the attention of the media and the public eye. Susan L. Research by Whiteley and Seyd (2002) backs up this claim as they note that the decline in party membership and party activism has been documented by grass roots party members in the UK for over ten years. Whiteley (2006) further supports this claim as he notes that there has been a weakening of partisan attachments within the electorate, and that over time there has been a long term decline towards party identification. He goes on to note that in 1964, when surveys first started to be used, almost 50% of the electorate had strong party identification towards a particular political party, but by 2001 this had reduced to only 13% of the electorate. He concluded by saying that although party identification had clearly declined over the years, the majority of voters still have some form of partisan attachments, although clearly a lot weaker than it once was. Meaning voters can now be more easily persuaded to switch parties. Research by Budge, Newton, McKay and Bartle (1998) also show that there has been a decline in party identification. They state that between the years 1945 to 1970, 44.8% of the electorate described themselves as being Conservative, 46.8% as Labour, 7.1% as Liberal Democrats and only 1.3% identified themselves as having attachments with other smaller parties. In her opening statement, Austen illustrates the the reasoning for marriage at this time, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife (Austen 9). For nearly everyone in the eighteenth century, marriage was seen as a business. A man seeked a wife solely because it was seen as a requirement to be viewed as a resectable addition to society. Once a man asked a woman for her hand in marriage, the woman would almost always immediately accept, as it was valued as an honor for a woman to be desired for this type of role. Her family was to pay her future husband a sum of money in which he saw suitable. Austen s protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet, contradicts this belief. She finds it ridiculous and in a way humorous that men and women actually find a status such as this something of honor. In contrast, Elizabeth Bennet feels marriage should be something that holds greater value than a price tag and a measurement of one s worthiness for a good reputation, but rather she feels it should be based off of feelings that a man and woman share for one another. As said by Elizabeth herself, The true perfection of man lies not in what he has, but in what he is. The copper bells found in Chaco Canyon have a significant different of the interaction directness; this might suggests that these came from many sources. The raw materials for copper bells may have existed at the American Southwest area; however, there is no evidence that native people obtained the metals and made it into objects (Nelson 2006). One thing for sure is the Toltecs are not the source of the copper bells because the copper objects were not manufactured in West Mexico until the Late Post classic, long after the fall of the Toltecs. In fact, Because copper bells are more common in the Hohokam and Mimbres regions than in Chaco Canyon (Vargas 1995, 2001), Chacoans likely obtained the West Mexican bells through some form of indirect interaction, with people in the southern Southwest serving as intermediaries (Nelson 2006:360). Sometimes copper bells are considered as the evidence of mercantile exchange; however, they are too infrequent in Chaco Canyon to be considered as a commodity. Similarly with the shell bracelets, they are not usually considered Mesoamerican artifacts because they abound in the Hohokam region and evidence of their production is found within the region also (Nelson 2006). Moreover, the Hohokam bracelets have the designs and styles very similar to the Mesoamerican motifs and seems to occur in contexts that contain other Mesoamerican objects. • 43. Asylum Seekers Essay The Howard government s difficulty in rebuilding the relationship with Indonesia was partly due to their megaphone diplomacy (Capling 2008: 613). Howard s rhetoric after election in 1997, moved away from Labour s enthusiastic engagement with Asia, and towards a perception of an Australia less interdependent with Asia, emphasizing Western liberal democratic ties (Jones and Benvenuti 2006: 111). East Timor had reinforced the Indonesian perception that Australia had an arrogant neo colonial foreign policy (Day 2015: 675). Yet, the burgeoning democracy following the fall of Suharto in 1999 gave the opportunity for better dialogue (Robert and Hadir 2015: 197). The October 2002 terrorist bombing attack in Bali, killing 202 people including 88 Australians was a turning point. Based on pragmatism and shared interest in combatting terrorism the relationship reemerged when the Australian Federal Police and the Indonesian authorities cooperated in investigation the incident (Day 2015: 676) Building close security relations became a priority in light of the new terrorism threat, creating the successful Bali Process (Day 2015: 676). 2013 finally saw the return of military engagement to pre East Timor crisis heights (Robert and Hadir 2015: 198). However, the domestic sphere is vital to Australian policy and must be engaged to improve relations with Indonesia. A 2013 survey of the Australian public commissioned by DFAT in 2013 found that 53% of Australian believe Indonesia is not a democracy and 54% believe Australia is right to worry about Indonesia as a military threat (Roberts and Habir 2015: 205). • 44. Benefits Of An Limited Liability Company From A Legal... The LLC remains a limited liability company from a legal standpoint, but for tax purposes it can be treated as an S Corp. Be sure to contact the state s income tax agency where you plan to file your election form. Ask about the tax requirements and if they recognize elections of other entities (such as the S Corp). Advantages of an LLC: Limited Liability. Members are protected from personal liability for business decisions or actions of the LLC. This means that if the LLC incurs debt or is sued, members personal assets are usually exempt. This is similar to the liability protections afforded to shareholders of a corporation. Keep in mind that limited liability means limited liability members are not necessarily shielded from wrongful acts, including those of their employees. Less Recordkeeping. An LLC s operational ease is one of its greatest advantages. Compared to an S Corporation, there is less registration paperwork and there are smaller start up costs. Sharing of Profits. There are fewer restrictions on profit sharing within an LLC, as members distribute profits as they see fit. Members might contribute different proportions of capital and sweat equity. Consequently, it s up to the members themselves to decide who has earned what percentage of the profits or losses. Disadvantages of an LLC: Limited Life. Ninety four percent of frequent safe injection site users refused to lend out a syringe in the last six months compared to the eighty nine percent of infrequent users. This is because InSite users benefit from safer injecting education. Approximately eighty percent of safe injection site users practice safer injection (i.e. reusing syringes less often, injecting indoors, and using clean water and equipment). • 47. The Domestic Policies of Diefenbaker and Pearson Essay Plan Compare and contrast the successes and failures of the domestic policies of Diefenbaker and Pearson John George Diefenbaker and Lester Bowles Pearson both acted as Prime Minister of Canada during the Cold War. The two were from different Canadian political parties that accorded to their beliefs and principles, Diefenbaker being a Progressive Conservative party member and Pearson a Liberal. Diefenbaker was leaning left as a Conservative, similarly to Eisenhower, who was presiding at the time, and thus shared a fair relationship with him, though the same could not be said for the US in general; Pearson s administration presided also along a Democratic administration in the US, though they clashed often due to the American actions in the Vietnam War. Diefenbaker was elected to office as his party held the greatest proportion in the Parliament, however, he won only with a minority. During his administration, Diefenbaker implemented policies that were considered liberal, most of which he was able to pass, in contrast to Pearson, who only succeeded in passing near half of his due to the majority he lacked most times in the House of Commons. Both Diefenbaker and Pearson had political experience before they became PMs, they also share a similarity in that they attempted to solidify Canada as a nation and to remove the hyphenation in Canadian citizenship; both achieving success in varying extents. • 48. Lord Of The Flies Vs Peter Pan Essay Lord of the flies vs. Peter Pan In the books Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, they share similar characteristics throughout the story and in the characters themselves. Lord of the Flies takes place on a deserted island where about 20 British boys ages eight to thirteen, have crashed on a jungle like island during World War II. The boys find themselves in many dilemmas such as a fire, shelter and most importantly a need for authority and order. In most cases they perceived themselves as defenders of equal economic opportunity, even though they sometimes put their own interests before those of the people. They also thought of themselves as guardians of political democracy, while at the same time using class differences to their advantage and emotionalized speeches, lacking real intellectual merit, to stir support. Jacksonian Democrats felt that they were the protectors of the Constitution and of individual liberties but many times they put their rivalry with the Northeastern industry and Whig politics before these things. While Jacksonians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The case Charles River Bridge v. Warren Bridge decided that a charter given a person or group to do a service does not allow that group to have complete rights over this service. This decision supports the Jacksonian Democracy ideas that the rights of the community are more important than the rights of business (H). However, it is also important to know that Taney was elected by Jackson, and his decision, well supporting economic equality, also set a precedent for states intervention in commerce. The Jacksonian Democrats were very important in the revolutions in political democracy that took place during this period. During this period universal white male suffrage took place and was the first step towards the revolution of the common man in politics. Also, Jackson s acceptance and support of the two party system helped create a more democratic America in which people with similar views could unite in their support of a singular candidate. Many working men of this time period had felt they had been taken advantage of and misrepresented by tyrannical aristocrats who treated them poorly (A). Jackson used this to his advantage with emotionalized speeches exploiting class differences. However, it should be said that during this time period the amount of voters increased dramatically which means that more Americans were involved in American politics (D). C Motor Using Imc Speed Control of SE.D.C Motor using IMC (Simulation done on LabVIEW) Salim salimnitk@gmail.com Abstract: SEDC motors are used extensively in industrial variable speed applications because of most demanding speed torque characteristics and are simple in controlling aspects. This paper presents an implementation of internal model control (IMC) for speed control of separately excited SEDC motor based on LabVIEW. A mathematical model of the process has been developed using real plant data and then conventional controller has been designed. A comparative analysis of performance evaluation of controller has been done. Key Words: SEDC Motor, IMC, LabVIEW. 1 Introduction DC motors are widely used in industrial applications, robot manipulators and home appliances, because of their high reliability, flexibility and low cost, where speed and position control of motor are required. This paper deals with the performance evaluation of internal model control method with a clear objective to control the speed of separately excited DC motor. In this paper, Speed of a SEDC motor is controlled using IMC. Separately excited DC motors are highly versatile and flexible in aspects of speed control. The basic property of separately excited DC motor is that speed of separately excited DC motor can be adjusted by varying its terminal voltage. Therefore, the separately excited DC motor control is better than other kinds of motors. SEDC motor is a highly controllable electrical actuator ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
