Sarah, John, Matthew, Karli and Dan, and her Great Grandchildren; Theo, Archie, Logan, Brooke,

positive relationship between acculturation, the adoption of characteristics, beliefs, ideals and values

African American Vernacular English Background: African American Vernacular English (AAVE) is
the variety previously known as Black English Vernacular or Vernacular Black English by
sociolinguists, and commonly called Ebonics outside the academic community. However, some
characteristics of AAVE are seemingly unique in its structure. It also includes a number of standard
and nonstandard English varieties are spoken by the US and the Caribbean people. AAVE has been the
core of many public debates and also the analysis of this variety has encouraged and sustained debates
amongst sociolinguists. Some speakers may use some special aspects of pronunciation and
vocabulary. Nevertheless, the grammatical features are not connected with the variety. Several
sociolinguists would reserve the term AAVE for varieties which are marked by the existence of

AAVE developed out a connection between speakers of West African languages and speakers of
vernacular English varieties. According to such an opinion, West Africans learnt English on
plantations in the southern Coastal States from very few native speakers. Some say that this led to the

Betrayal In Kelly Link s The Summer People
Betrayal Have you ever been betrayed by someone that you trusted? The Summer People , a fairy tale
short story written by the author Kelly Link, portrayed the characters in a way that be can be greatly
related. Throughout the story, she used several literary elements, such as symbols, allusions, and
dictions to help the readers to understand the moral of the story. The main character, Fran, was bonded
with the faith to be the caretaker of the summer people, and there is no possible way that she can
escape from them. Despite the kindness of her friend, Ophelia, Fran decided to use her to gain
freedom from the summer people. Ophelia has always been truthful to Fran, even though Fran bullies
her during the beginning of the story. At the end, Ophelia was betrayed by Fran and forced to take
over her responsibilities of the summer people. In an e mail interview conducted by Journal of the
Fantastic in the Arts with Kelly Link by the editor, Brian Attebery, explained the style of her writing.

and home appliances, because of their high reliability, flexibility and low cost, where speed and

model control method with a clear objective to control the speed of separately excited DC motor. In
this paper, Speed of a SEDC motor is controlled using IMC. Separately excited DC motors are highly
