Reducing Number of Infiltration Cycles for La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 YSZ Cathodes
Xiaoyan Li
Abstract
In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable cathode
performance, the viability of using a conductive composite scaffold of La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 and yttria
stablized zirconia (YSZ) with one infiltration cycle was investigated. The infiltration material is nitrate
salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase. Cathodes
fabricated from scaffolds using different ratios of LSF YSZ were tested by impedance spectroscopy
with the results showing that the ohmic resistance decreases as the amount of LSF increases. In
addition, scaffolds calcined at 1350oC exhibited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1,2 In this case, YSZ is included in the cathode to provide ionic conductivity, as well as enhancing the
connection between the electrode and the YSZ electrolyte. YSZ in the electrode also helps match the
thermal expansion of the electrode to the electrolyte.1 4 The functions of LSM in the composite
cathode include providing electronic conductivity and catalytic activity, but with negligible
contributions to ionic conductivity.4,5
The conventional method for fabricating the electrode is to deposit and sinter a mixture of the
electrode composites onto a dense YSZ electrolyte.4 The sintering temperature must be a compromise,
high enough to ensure the good connection between YSZ in the electrode and the electrolyte, but low
enough to prevent solid state reactions between the electrode composites.2,5 Indeed, most conducting
perovkites are unable to be prepared due to the formation of insulating phases at high temperatures
required for YSZ sintering.4 Therefore, the infiltration method was initially developed to separate the
high calcination temperature required to densify the YSZ electrolyte from the lower calcinations
temperature needed for the other electrode components.1,4,5 Furthermore, the infiltration method
provides a nonrandom structure where the electronically conductive components are deposited into the
previously formed porous YSZ scaffold.1 4 Infiltration also forms superior

The Legal Rule Of The Court Essay
Over the years, rules have been established by Supreme Court Cases in the interest of the defendants,
for the protection of their Constitutional Rights and to make sure they have received a fair trial. These
rules are created on a case by case situation in which certain situations arise and problems surface with
the judicial system and the way that it is acting. One could not predict every problem that will arise in
the court room, but all that can be done is to address the situations as they come about.
According to the Merrian Webster dictionary, the exclusionary rule is a legal rule that bars unlawfully
obtained evidence from being used in court proceedings (Exclusionary Rule). It prohibits the
prosecutor from using illegally obtained evidence against a defendant during a trial. The exclusionary
rule is a court made rule. This means that it was created not in statutes passed by legislative bodies but
rather by the U.S. Supreme Court.
At one time, in past history, the seizure of evidence by illegal means did not affect whether or not it
could be used in court. In fact, just so long as it was proven to be relevance and trust worthy, meeting
certain evidentiary criteria for admissibility, any evidence, no matter how it was obtained, was
acceptable in the court room. The exclusionary rule has been in existence since the early 1900
(Lawbrain). Before the rule was fashioned, any evidence was admissible in a criminal trial if the judge
found the evidence to be relevant to the

A New Science Of Genetic Engineering Essay
After years of work, Dr. Smith, has successfully edited the human genome. Shortly after, he began to
marvel at the possibilities he unlocked, but also begged the question of the possible consequences he
created from this achievement which would affect the impending future. He worried as to how the
public would react to his life work. The growing potential of gene editing is sweeping the US, filled
with both overwhelming hope as well as fear. This is a bridge which must be crossed to achieve trust
within the biomedical community. To ensure the people this can bring great change without the
unethical byproducts which could come with gene editing. Much of the American public is divided
with the relatively new science of genetic engineering due to concerning ethical issues, but would
benefit in many ways from its implementation into society.
Genetic engineering started with an idea picked up by the US government in the mid 80s, it is now the
planet s largest collective biological project. So what does gene editing consist of exactly? Heidi Chial
explains it began with a few steps, the first was the Human Genome Project launched in 1990. A
worldwide project which would last 13 years until its completion in 2003. The goal of the project was
to determine and understand the sequence of nucleotides within human DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid)

The Treatment Of Heart Transplant Essay
Background
Heart transplant have grown to be a therapeutic strategies for patients with heart failure, and
respectively offers improved quality life and survival. Many various techniques have been used to
ensure safety and survival of pediatric patients, however in the case of rejection, death rate have
enormously been reviewed. This process whereby recipient s immune system attacks the transplanted
organ is quite harmful as substances like antigens coats organ surface, therefore, immune system
respond by attacking the transplanted organ as it detects it to be foreign (virus or bacteria).37
Although diagnosis have been procured, endomyocardial biopsy seems to be a standard method to
monitor rejection, and due to long term outcomes after heart transplant, many other models have been
considered by most researchers to improve rejection after heart transplant in pediatric patients. These
are immunosuppressive, surgical techniques, transplant selection, and postoperative care.39
Hence, with respect to plausible rejections in pediatric patients after heart transplant, outcomes,

makes up a lot of the country s GDP. The civil war that had just happened disrupted production
facilities and pipelines, causing a dramatic fall in oil production. This brought the decline in oil for
libya. This resulted in the total downfall of the economy. Real GDP dramatically dropped, and because
of the dependency of the rest of the economy on the oil sector, anything that had to without oil also
dropped. After the civil war, During the rebuilding process of Libya, Militias targeted oil facilities as a
way to reach their political and economic wishes. This led to a series of periodic labor strikes for
higher pay in the oil industry soon spread throughout the eastern half of the country where most of the
oil reserves are located. The militias took over a number of key oil terminals on the coast so that
exports were cut. Socially the people of libya struggled. Their daily life has been completely changed.

Comparison Of Diet And Soda Reaction
Mentos and soda reaction has been a fun experiment done by people across the world.
Yes, it is a easy project you can do. You can do it by yourself or with friends but, do you know the
science behind it? Do you know if it is a physical reaction or chemical reaction? The reaction of soda
and Mentos causes a fun explosive outcome but, why? When you drop the the Mentos in the diet soda
it causes carbon dioxide bubbles to form really fast. Then the bubbles form until it forms a geyser. Not
only the bubbles form the sticky and foamy reaction. The ingredients from the Mentos mixed with the
sugar from the diet soda causes the soda too have a lower surface tension. It is hard for bubbles to

According to Mental Floss, this is their explanation of why diet soda works better. Diet sodas produce
a bigger reaction than non diet sodas because aspartame lowers the surface tension of the liquid much
more than sugar or corn syrup will. You can also increase the effect by adding more surfactants to the
soda when you add the Mentos, like adding a mixture of dishwasher soap and water ( Why Do Diet
Coke and Mentos React? Mental Floss). Why is it a Physical reaction? It is a Physical reaction
because of Nucleation. What causes the reaction of soda and Mentos slow or stops the reaction? To
slow down the experiment a person would have to make sure that the carbon dioxide must escape
from the soda. If that person does not have carbon dioxide in the soda the Mentos will not react to

The Nature And Development Of False Memories
False memories attracted significant attention of psychologists during many decades. People usually
rely on the memories despite the fact that previous researches showed people could be unpredictably
inaccurate in the recollection of detailed facts (Wilson Ross, 2003).The subject of the false memories
and the aspects that lead to development of the false memory phenomena is very imperative topic to
study since almost every aspect of cognition such as problem solving, attention or perception relies on
memory to some extent. The quality of memory is also vital for some practical reasons, because many
important events influenced by reports from human witnesses. For instance, the procedure with
eyewitness testimonies in courts is still taking place although scientists have proven the power of
suggestive language can lead into memorising something that did not happen in reality (Loftus, 1975).
This point to the following question: Can we trust our memory? In order to response to this question,
this paper will evaluate the nature and development of false memories, its connection to the basic
memory processes, as well as practical impact of false memories. A collective review on all above
aspects will provide a comprehensive explanation of the question that this paper poses.
What is a false memory?
The phrase false memory could refer to an extensive range of small memory inaccuracies from
misremembered word lists to quite significant errors like incorrect details of dramatic life

reserves of paper currencies and gold. According to the World Gold Council, recently, central banks
have been purchasing more gold than they are selling. This diversification of monetary reserves, away
from paper currency and into gold, results in the rise of gold prices. Many world nations reserves are
primarily of gold. (Folger, 2016) Value of the U.S. Dollar The higher the value of the US dollar, the
lower and more controlled the price of gold. This is so because, most investments and trade are done
when the value of the US dollar is high. When the US dollar value lowers, the use of gold for

inflation or deflation. This investment is done through gold funds or coins (Folger, 2016). 2.

Suicide Prevention For The Kern County Mental Health Hotline
My family and friends don t quite understand my motivations to become a mental health counselor.
Personally, I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping people through dark times and giving
hope for a brighter future. Deep down, I m an idealist with enough life experience to pepper my
expectations. There are countless possible research topics within the mental health field, but I ve
recently developed a deep appreciation of suicide prevention since volunteering for the Kern County
Mental Health Hotline. I ve also become acutely aware of the relationship between suicide and mood
disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. According to the CDC, suicide is the second
leading cause of death for people aged 15 34 years old, and the 10th leading cause of death overall. An
estimated 90% of those who have died by suicide suffered from mental illness. That makes mental
illness the top risk factor (NAMI, 2016). I was able to find these statistics quite readily, but I couldn t

already exists on the subject matter, a literature review would be the perfect place to start. Not only
would a review help verify that this is direction of research has potential, it would help to develop my
understanding of the topic. If I do find that work has been done on the topic, I could narrow my scope

Sexual Reproduction And Mating Systems Essay
Hi all, I just wanted to add information to what has been discussed. In topic 11, we learnt about
sexuality (Bingham, Paul M., and Souza J. 2009). A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of
human life is the manner by which we pick our mates. Animals likewise pick their mates, in some
cases with a lot of consideration. Mating systems are critical to comprehend in light of the fact that
they mirror the consequence of common choice on mate decision, and eventually on systems for
augmenting individual reproductive success. A mating system depicts how guys and females pair
while picking a mate. Males and females vary extraordinarily in the speculation every makes to
reproduce, and may along these lines approach mating with contrasting procedures. At the point when
picking mates, animals develop species regular systems for amplifying their reproductive success this
outcomes in significant diversity qualities among animal species in their mating patterns. In particular,
sexual reproduction frequently includes evolutionary differentiation of males and females. Females
commonly create fundamentally less gametes (eggs) than males and invest heavily in every one. Then
again, males produce numerous gametes (sperm) and put little into every one. These solid contrasts in
gamete investment between the genders prompts reproductive procedures between the genders that,
now and again, struggle. Females may spend more care than males selecting a mate because of the
high cost of their

Real life examples would be campuses across the United States, and individual municipalities across
Canada advocating against sweatshops, and advocating for sweat free goods. Student activists in
universities in the United States have started to disallow purchasing university merchandise from
factories that don t respect worker s rights. This push is coming from the United Students Against
Sweatshops, who have over the years organized strikes, rallies, and charity events to demand that
American universities make stronger policies to disallow clothing for students to come from
sweatshops. Pressure from students have made numerous universities support this cause. Furthermore,
students have demanded that popular clothing brands like Nike disclose which factories are used to
make university merchandise, and Nike did give the locations and names of its factories to the
organization. Nike also promised to make sweatshop conditions better. This is an example of how
student organizations are getting major companies to improve the conditions in sweatshops, and how
major organizations share the view that sweatshops are extremely bad for worker s economic and
social human rights. Student organizations in universities are also making companies pay their

what the right discipline may be for that officer.

The nail polish industry has moderate barriers to entry. Coty and Revlon dominate 63.6% of the

The Possible Cause Of The Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Trials began in Salem, Massachusetts, 1690. To this day it is not completely clear
why these trials began, but some believed that physical and/or mental illness, like hysteria, was the
cause. Others suggest that some of the local plants had been poisoned. The most reasonable cause was
that there was a pact amongst a group of girls that wanted revenge on some of the people in the town;
since they accused many and had similar accusations that could have been rehearsed. Other
explanations include that the Puritans, coming from the same views from Europe, believed that
witchcraft was possible. Because of the already implanted idea that witches were real, in Salem
witchcraft soon became the most believed cause for the trials. There

The future of public broadcasting in Australia has continued to be very unknown. Since the 1990 s
Australia s public service broadcasters security has been under constant challenge and change (E.

Argumentative Essay On Gymnastics
Gymnastics taught me everything life lessons, responsibility and discipline and respect, says Shawn
Johnson, 2008 Beijing Olympics All Around Gold Medalist. A hotly debated issue is whether or not
competitive sports are beneficial for children and teens. (This, though, will focus solely on
gymnastics.) However, research shows gymnastics is a perfectly healthy sport which teaches life skills
such as time management, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
First, gymnastics teaches time management. For instance, gymnasts have long practice hours.
According to Gymnasticscoaching.com and research surveys, these are the average practice times per
level: Level 4 6 hours a week = 3 days x 2 hours; Level 5 8.75 hrs a week; Level 6 11 hours ... Show

In fact, Christopher Bergland stresses that being active as children will lead to being healthy adults, as
well as having lifelong habits of working out. Gymnasts definitely are active, as seen in the practice
hours mentioned in the first paragraph. In gymnastics, flipping around requires muscle, flexibility, and
strength; qualities that are easily transferable to other sports as well. Rita Wieber, the mother of Jordyn
Wieber, says nutrition is very important for a gymnast. Eat what she needs to perform at her best...be
as healthy as possible, she writes. Gymnasts usually do their sport until their mid teens...being told
about eating healthy will have a lasting impact on them. On the contrary, doctors and parents argue
that because of the nature of gymnastics, gymnasts are susceptible to eating disorders. Actually,
gymnasts who get eating disorders are most likely nagged by the coach to lose weight and become
stronger. If the coach is verbally abusive and crude, should the gymnast even be training under them?
Probably not! Anyways, gymnasts are not likely to be affected by anorexia, bulimia, and the like
because gymnastics enriches confidence. Think about it on beam, gymnasts are flipping on a four feet
high, four inches wide piece of wood in front of judges. They put in their hardest work to get the best
score possible, and they know it. Furthermore, healthy habits are just a few of the life skills

a mongolian Warrior and was the founder of the mongolian empire. Genghis Khan married at the age
of 16 but had many wives and kids. Genghis Khan means Universal leader this title was bestowed on a

At the age 20 Genghis started to build his huge mongolian empire by hunting down and destroying
individual tribes in north east asia.As more tribes got invaded the empire grew bigger making it the
biggest empire in the world. As the empire started to grow bigger the empire grew faster some tribes
were so scared of the mongolians they serenaded as soon as the mongolians started raiding them. The
success of the mongolians is mostly because of Genghis Khan s brilliant Military tactics, he new his
enemies very well and was quick to adopt their latest technologies and used spies to find out about
them. His fighters of about 80,000 were well trained and used signaling systems of smoke and burning

Does Medea Have No Sympathy For Jason Essay
Although we may sympathise with Medea s plight, Jason is worthy of nothing more than our contempt
Do you agree?
Euripides Greek tragedy, Medea follows the feud of the relationship between the protagonist Medea,
and the antagonist, her disloyal husband Jason. Although Jason s actions are unforgiveable, his
decisions to leave Medea did not authorise the actions of revenge that Medea took to guarantee Jason s
complete downfall. Medea s situation of exile that she has been placed in is a result of her lover Jason
s decision to leave her and marry a younger female, as a result of this it helps the reader sympathise
and have remorse with Medea, but does not lead us to approve of her actions of revenge, anger and
vengeance. From a readers perspective Jason deserves absolutely little to no sympathy for his actions
against Medea. Medea saw the injustices of Jason go unpunished, so she took matters into her own
hands, so that Jason may finally regret his decision and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Whether killing his two children or killing Jason s love interest Glauche, the reader is reminded that
even without them, Jason will have a more sustainable life than Medea. In Corinth, there was no
gender equality; there were no shared rights. The simple pecking order was that men were far more
superior to women, who ultimately were seen as inferior compared to men. Women had no rights, thus

The Five Pillars Of The Muslim Faith

Muslim faith, it is believed that this was the main foundation of the Muslim way of life. These five
pillars give a true identity when it comes to the Muslim faith and lifestyle. One of the pillars is named
Salat which is translated to Prayer in the English language. Throughout the day people would have to
pray and it doesn t really matter where they do it. They have to at least do it five times a day. The
second pillar that I will talk about is named Zakat. Zakat would mean charity or give charity. One of

everything may go if they have a large or small family. Someone with not that much knowledge about

this choice of topic. If someone has bad genetics like a disorder or something, they may not want to

worst thing they would want to do is passed that down to someone else who had to live through it. 3.)

population of Europe has been steadily declining. It heard by many that their largest cities are starting

affordable than the city home areas. It s a very common thing to happen in the United States, but it s

White Collar Crimes And Street Crimes
Crimes are one of the many things that all humans have in common. Whether it be a serious crime or
not, everyone can commit a crime and go to jail for it. There are two types of crime that can be
considered complete opposites of each other. They are white collar crimes and street crimes. White
collar crimes are considered nonviolent crimes committed by a person of respectability and high social
status in the course of his/her occupation such as fraud, embezzlement, or bribery. On the other hand,
street crimes are any criminal offense in a public place which can be robbery or burglary. There are
many barriers proving the acceptability of one over the other. Lack of awareness, lack of education,
and social class make white collar crimes more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reducing awareness for these crimes can be seen throughout the whole criminal justice system.
Just because one person committed a crime does not mean the whole company is not a scam or that
someone else is not doing the same. Most of the time it is the one person, but they will not truly know
until they investigate the whole business. The lack of statistics causes a decreasing amount of
awareness of this crime by not having the correct resources to see a trend. The ICCC or Internet Crime
Complaint Center is the current source of statistics regarding white collar crimes, which primarily rely
on victims to report victimization, that aids researchers who have created estimated figures describing
the range of costs associated with these crimes (Martinez). If a report center relies on people s
opinions, then some of the information could be false or tampered with. If the statistics are relevant
and correct, then the agents can look for a pattern in the numbers to see which crime was the highest
and when. Having correct statistics is one way to reduce the lack of awareness. Another way to reduce
it is with the help of NW3C. It is a nonprofit organization that supports agencies in preventing and
investigating economic and high tech crime. It offers many ways to help better the cooperation and
coordination among federal, state, and local agencies responsible for economic crime. NW3C stands

Management Strategies
In organizations, the executives are often bogged down with the responsibility of creating new
strategies, analyzing business processes and making decisions for implementation in different
departments. Judge (2013) explains that, the average manager spent 32 percent of his or her time in
traditional management activities, 29 percent communicating, 20 percent in human resource
management activities, and 19 percent networking (p. 8). However, there are recent studies in
Australia, Israel, Italy, Japan and the United States that affirm that there is a link between networking

Furthermore, managers can learn the technical aspects of each job duty within the job roles by
working side by side with their employees. This gives them an idea of what skills and talents are
needed in each job role and it enables them to see what employees experience in their job role on daily
basis. As an employee, one would appreciate knowing that their supervisor was dedicating some time
to spend with the team on a regular basis. It would make an employee feel like their supervisor
understands and cares about their employees and their job tasks. It would be helpful because the
supervisor and the employees could create solutions to business issues quicker and best practices
could be developed from these meaningful interactions. One s attitude toward the organization would
be a positive one because it would be quite evident that the management team understands one s job
role and they are interested in learning different ways to improve the job by their observations while
interacting with employees. These interactions with top managers could create an overall sense of trust
between the managers and employees and a positive outlook on the job and the organization. There
are a few different ways that executives can learn about the day to day business operations besides
using the management by walking around technique. Executives in the retail and restaurant industry,
for example, could

I can smell the rain on my jacket as my fingers numbly make their way across the pad, trying their

apparent lack of artistic ability. As I am watching the scene unfold, I hardly notice the people walking
around me, gazing at the same thing I am, before they move on. Cuddling under an umbrella, a man
and his wife are casually strolling through the light fog. Their attention is caught by something off to
their right, so he does not notice when his top hat is almost bumped to one side by the umbrella as
another pedestrian tries to pass on the narrow sidewalk. Further off in the ... Show more content on

The buildings are just far enough away and draped in a delicate fog that their details remain slightly
imperceptible. But in retrospect, this entire painting lacks any distinct quality, yet possesses a magical
ability to draw one into the scene and envelope them in the mystery and serenity of that Parisian
evening.
I am certain that while I was sketching the work, I became an obstacle for many of the other patrons of
the Art Institute, which is one of the reasons I sat down. But from this vantage point I had the
opportunity to marvel at the grand scope of this composition. Gustave Calliebotte s Paris Street; Rainy
Day has the peculiar ability to exist in duality. Standing close to the canvas, I could feel myself pulled
into the scene that took place over 120 years ago. I could feel the dampness in my hair and smell the
rain on my clothes, although I must attribute at least part of that to the rainy Chicago weather I
encountered before entering the museum. From a closer perspective, the life size characters effectively
contribute to the realism of the piece. The immense size of the painting itself helps to incorporate the
viewer into the scene. Being close, it feels as though this Parisian intersection could wrap around you,
and standing there I would not be terribly surprised if I turned around to see nothing but the rest of the

Comparing Johnson And Voltaire s Rasselas Prince Of Abissina
Authors Johnson and Voltaire were both novelists of the eighteenth century who took the surreal world
of utopia and used it to compare the world around them. Published within months of each other, both
novels are noticeably similar with their biblical references and final critiques of modern Europe.
Through these similarities two different stories unfold, both which involve the wonderous world of
utopia. These imagined places of perfection begin to ask the question of what a person needs to be
completely happy, and it is when both protagonists decide to leave these havens that the authors begin
to show their critiques of man and the society they live in.
While both authors approach their texts differently, one can see their comparable critiques of the
problems within society through the utopias they create and the unanimous conclusion for the
imperative need for every individual to discover their own happiness by having both of their
characters choosing to leave it.
Johnson and Voltaire both set their stories in the fantastical world of a utopia, but approach them very
differently. Through Rasselas, Prince of Abissina, Johnson uses realistic characters and stays level
with them throughout the text; describing where they are, what they are doing, and even providing
compassion towards them, thus encouraging the reader to identify with them. And it is through this
self identification from the reader that Johnson was able to make a more obvious commentary on
society through his

Juvenile Crime Is One Of The Country s Not Joking Issues...
Juvenile crime is one of the country s not joking issues. Worry about it is shared through elected, state,
and neighborhood government authorities and through people in general. In the United States, age cut
off points of juveniles change, the most extreme age being set at 14 years in a few states and as high as
21 years in others. The 16 to 20 year age gather, considered grown up in many spots, has one of the
most unusual occurrences of actual crime. A large degree of grown up criminals has a foundation of
early misconduct. Burglary is the most well known offense through children s; more genuine property
violations and assault are most as often as possible submitted in later youth. The reasons for such
conduct, similar to those of crime, as a rule, are found in a complex of mental, social, and monetary
components. Clinical reviews have revealed passionate instabilities, more often than not emerging
from confused family circumstances, in many delinquents (John T. Whitehead, 2015).
For this particular discussion, we will focus on three contributing factors that are linked to Juvenile
Delinquency. The three we will be discussing are, family dynamics, mental health and social class.

Supreme Court Case Paper
Let me start off by saying that this case in my opinion, was particularly difficult for me to understand
and decipher what I was actually reading. That being said, I think the main issue in this case is
whether the parties intended that a construction and repurchase clause should constitute as a covenant.
A covenant is a formal written agreement between two parties for the performance of some action, that
runs with the land. These actions were to be enforceable by a specific performance, or a future
interest. In this case the construction of an office building on a condition subsequent, which is later
enforceable only under the Real Property and Procedure Law ( RPAPL ) § 1953. The court case was
on an appeal about whether the parties had intended that a construction with a repurchase clause
should be enforceable by a specific performance or a future interest on a condition subsequent. The
court held that the parties intentions was that the obligation found on the deed sale constitutes for a

have had an attorney double check the wording of the deed. With any deed the right to repurchase land

The infiltration material is nitrate salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase. The Legal RuleOf The Court Essay Over the years, rules have been established by Supreme Court Cases in the interest of the defendants, for the protection of their Constitutional Rights and to make sure they have received a fair trial. These rules are created on a case by case situation in which certain situations arise and problems surface with the judicial system and the way that it is acting. One could not predict every problem that will arise in the court room, but all that can be done is to address the situations as they come about. According to the Merrian Webster dictionary, the exclusionary rule is a legal rule that bars unlawfully obtained evidence from being used in court proceedings (Exclusionary Rule). It prohibits the prosecutor from using illegally obtained evidence against a defendant during a trial. The exclusionary rule is a court made rule. This means that it was created not in statutes passed by legislative bodies but rather by the U.S. Supreme Court. At one time, in past history, the seizure of evidence by illegal means did not affect whether or not it could be used in court. In fact, just so long as it was proven to be relevance and trust worthy, meeting certain evidentiary criteria for admissibility, any evidence, no matter how it was obtained, was acceptable in the court room. The exclusionary rule has been in existence since the early 1900 (Lawbrain). Before the rule was fashioned, any evidence was admissible in a criminal trial if the judge found the evidence to be relevant to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A New ScienceOf Genetic Engineering Essay After years of work, Dr. Smith, has successfully edited the human genome. Shortly after, he began to marvel at the possibilities he unlocked, but also begged the question of the possible consequences he created from this achievement which would affect the impending future. He worried as to how the public would react to his life work. The growing potential of gene editing is sweeping the US, filled with both overwhelming hope as well as fear. This is a bridge which must be crossed to achieve trust within the biomedical community. To ensure the people this can bring great change without the unethical byproducts which could come with gene editing. Much of the American public is divided with the relatively new science of genetic engineering due to concerning ethical issues, but would benefit in many ways from its implementation into society. Genetic engineering started with an idea picked up by the US government in the mid 80s, it is now the planet s largest collective biological project. So what does gene editing consist of exactly? Personally, I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping people through dark times and giving hope for a brighter future. Deep down, I m an idealist with enough life experience to pepper my expectations. There are countless possible research topics within the mental health field, but I ve recently developed a deep appreciation of suicide prevention since volunteering for the Kern County Mental Health Hotline. I ve also become acutely aware of the relationship between suicide and mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. According to the CDC, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people aged 15 34 years old, and the 10th leading cause of death overall. An estimated 90% of those who have died by suicide suffered from mental illness. That makes mental illness the top risk factor (NAMI, 2016). I was able to find these statistics quite readily, but I couldn t find anything relating specifically to mood disorders. Since I am not sure of what type of research already exists on the subject matter, a literature review would be the perfect place to start. Sexual Reproduction AndMating Systems Essay Hi all, I just wanted to add information to what has been discussed. In topic 11, we learnt about sexuality (Bingham, Paul M., and Souza J. 2009). A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of human life is the manner by which we pick our mates. Animals likewise pick their mates, in some cases with a lot of consideration. Mating systems are critical to comprehend in light of the fact that they mirror the consequence of common choice on mate decision, and eventually on systems for augmenting individual reproductive success. A mating system depicts how guys and females pair while picking a mate. Males and females vary extraordinarily in the speculation every makes to reproduce, and may along these lines approach mating with contrasting procedures. At the point when picking mates, animals develop species regular systems for amplifying their reproductive success this outcomes in significant diversity qualities among animal species in their mating patterns. In particular, sexual reproduction frequently includes evolutionary differentiation of males and females. Females commonly create fundamentally less gametes (eggs) than males and invest heavily in every one. Then again, males produce numerous gametes (sperm) and put little into every one. Student activists in universities in the United States have started to disallow purchasing university merchandise from factories that don t respect worker s rights. This push is coming from the United Students Against Sweatshops, who have over the years organized strikes, rallies, and charity events to demand that American universities make stronger policies to disallow clothing for students to come from sweatshops. Pressure from students have made numerous universities support this cause. Furthermore, students have demanded that popular clothing brands like Nike disclose which factories are used to make university merchandise, and Nike did give the locations and names of its factories to the organization. The most reasonable cause was that there was a pact amongst a group of girls that wanted revenge on some of the people in the town; since they accused many and had similar accusations that could have been rehearsed. Whether killing his two children or killing Jason s love interest Glauche, the reader is reminded that even without them, Jason will have a more sustainable life than Medea. In Corinth, there was no gender equality; there were no shared rights. The simple pecking order was that men were far more superior to women, who ultimately were seen as inferior compared to men. Women had no rights, thus meaning they could not have their voice heard, they were rarely allowed to do anything they wanted, women would always follow what their husbands told them to do. The Five PillarsOf The Muslim Faith 1.) List and fully explain the five pillars of the Muslim faith. When describing the five pillars of the Muslim faith, it is believed that this was the main foundation of the Muslim way of life. These five pillars give a true identity when it comes to the Muslim faith and lifestyle. One of the pillars is named Salat which is translated to Prayer in the English language. Throughout the day people would have to pray and it doesn t really matter where they do it. They have to at least do it five times a day. The second pillar that I will talk about is named Zakat. Zakat would mean charity or give charity. One of the principles following this is to have the knowledge that everything belongs to God. The third pillar is named Sawm. Sawm ... Someone with not that much knowledge about it may have more than one mistake that they cant redo. Genetics may be one of the biggest factors in this choice of topic. If someone has bad genetics like a disorder or something, they may not want to have more than one child. The reason being is because hey may feel bad already for having it, the worst thing they would want to do is passed that down to someone else who had to live through it. 3.) List and fully discuss the reasons for Europe s declining population. The sudden decline in population in Europe has been somewhat a mystery throughout the years. For about the past ten years the population of Europe has been steadily declining. It heard by many that their largest cities are starting to slowly become less crowded. However, in the suburb areas, they have seen a greater birthrate than before. The main reason why they are experiencing a higher birthrate is that the suburbs are more affordable than the city home areas. It s a very common thing to happen in the United States, but it s very uncommon in Europe. 4.) List and discuss at least three (3) underlying causes of conflict in the Middle East. White Collar CrimesAnd Street Crimes Crimes are one of the many things that all humans have in common. Whether it be a serious crime or not, everyone can commit a crime and go to jail for it. There are two types of crime that can be considered complete opposites of each other. They are white collar crimes and street crimes. White collar crimes are considered nonviolent crimes committed by a person of respectability and high social status in the course of his/her occupation such as fraud, embezzlement, or bribery. On the other hand, street crimes are any criminal offense in a public place which can be robbery or burglary. There are many barriers proving the acceptability of one over the other. Lack of awareness, lack of education, and social class make white collar crimes more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reducing awareness for these crimes can be seen throughout the whole criminal justice system. Just because one person committed a crime does not mean the whole company is not a scam or that someone else is not doing the same. Most of the time it is the one person, but they will not truly know until they investigate the whole business. The lack of statistics causes a decreasing amount of awareness of this crime by not having the correct resources to see a trend. The ICCC or Internet Crime Complaint Center is the current source of statistics regarding white collar crimes, which primarily rely on victims to report victimization, that aids researchers who have created estimated figures describing the range of costs associated with these crimes (Martinez). If a report center relies on people s opinions, then some of the information could be false or tampered with. If the statistics are relevant and correct, then the agents can look for a pattern in the numbers to see which crime was the highest and when. Having correct statistics is one way to reduce the lack of awareness. Another way to reduce it is with the help of NW3C. It is a nonprofit organization that supports agencies in preventing and investigating economic and high tech crime. It offers many ways to help better the cooperation and coordination among federal, state, and local agencies responsible for economic crime. NW3C stands for National White Collar Crime Center. Management Strategies In organizations, the executives are often bogged down with the responsibility of creating new strategies, analyzing business processes and making decisions for implementation in different departments. Judge (2013) explains that, the average manager spent 32 percent of his or her time in traditional management activities, 29 percent communicating, 20 percent in human resource management activities, and 19 percent networking (p. 8). However, there are recent studies in Australia, Israel, Italy, Japan and the United States that affirm that there is a link between networking and communication and success in an organization (Judge, 2013, p. 8). Furthermore, managers can learn the technical aspects of each job duty within the job roles by working side by side with their employees. This gives them an idea of what skills and talents are needed in each job role and it enables them to see what employees experience in their job role on daily basis. As an employee, one would appreciate knowing that their supervisor was dedicating some time to spend with the team on a regular basis. It would make an employee feel like their supervisor understands and cares about their employees and their job tasks. It would be helpful because the supervisor and the employees could create solutions to business issues quicker and best practices could be developed from these meaningful interactions. One s attitude toward the organization would be a positive one because it would be quite evident that the management team understands one s job role and they are interested in learning different ways to improve the job by their observations while interacting with employees. These interactions with top managers could create an overall sense of trust between the managers and employees and a positive outlook on the job and the organization. Skecthing Gustave Calliebotte’sParis Street; Rainy Day... Skecthing Gustave Calliebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day I can smell the rain on my jacket as my fingers numbly make their way across the pad, trying their best to capture an instant in time on a piece of yellow, college ruled, notebook paper, despite my now apparent lack of artistic ability. As I am watching the scene unfold, I hardly notice the people walking around me, gazing at the same thing I am, before they move on. Cuddling under an umbrella, a man and his wife are casually strolling through the light fog. Their attention is caught by something off to their right, so he does not notice when his top hat is almost bumped to one side by the umbrella as another pedestrian tries to pass on the narrow sidewalk. Further off in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The buildings are just far enough away and draped in a delicate fog that their details remain slightly imperceptible. But in retrospect, this entire painting lacks any distinct quality, yet possesses a magical ability to draw one into the scene and envelope them in the mystery and serenity of that Parisian evening. I am certain that while I was sketching the work, I became an obstacle for many of the other patrons of the Art Institute, which is one of the reasons I sat down. But from this vantage point I had the opportunity to marvel at the grand scope of this composition. Gustave Calliebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day has the peculiar ability to exist in duality. Standing close to the canvas, I could feel myself pulled into the scene that took place over 120 years ago. I could feel the dampness in my hair and smell the rain on my clothes, although I must attribute at least part of that to the rainy Chicago weather I encountered before entering the museum. From a closer perspective, the life size characters effectively contribute to the realism of the piece. The immense size of the painting itself helps to incorporate the viewer into the scene. Being close, it feels as though this Parisian intersection could wrap around you, and standing there I would not be terribly surprised if I turned around to see nothing but the rest of the street, continuing through the brick laden ... Comparing Johnson AndVoltaire s Rasselas Prince Of Abissina Authors Johnson and Voltaire were both novelists of the eighteenth century who took the surreal world of utopia and used it to compare the world around them. Published within months of each other, both novels are noticeably similar with their biblical references and final critiques of modern Europe. Through these similarities two different stories unfold, both which involve the wonderous world of utopia. These imagined places of perfection begin to ask the question of what a person needs to be completely happy, and it is when both protagonists decide to leave these havens that the authors begin to show their critiques of man and the society they live in. While both authors approach their texts differently, one can see their comparable critiques of the problems within society through the utopias they create and the unanimous conclusion for the imperative need for every individual to discover their own happiness by having both of their characters choosing to leave it. Johnson and Voltaire both set their stories in the fantastical world of a utopia, but approach them very differently. Through Rasselas, Prince of Abissina, Johnson uses realistic characters and stays level with them throughout the text; describing where they are, what they are doing, and even providing compassion towards them, thus encouraging the reader to identify with them. And it is through this self identification from the reader that Johnson was able to make a more obvious commentary on society through his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Juvenile Crime IsOne Of The Country s Not Joking Issues... Juvenile crime is one of the country s not joking issues. Worry about it is shared through elected, state, and neighborhood government authorities and through people in general. In the United States, age cut off points of juveniles change, the most extreme age being set at 14 years in a few states and as high as 21 years in others. The 16 to 20 year age gather, considered grown up in many spots, has one of the most unusual occurrences of actual crime. A large degree of grown up criminals has a foundation of early misconduct. Burglary is the most well known offense through children s; more genuine property violations and assault are most as often as possible submitted in later youth. The reasons for such conduct, similar to those of crime, as a rule, are found in a complex of mental, social, and monetary components. Clinical reviews have revealed passionate instabilities, more often than not emerging from confused family circumstances, in many delinquents (John T. Whitehead, 2015). For this particular discussion, we will focus on three contributing factors that are linked to Juvenile Delinquency. The three we will be discussing are, family dynamics, mental health and social class. Social class The social imbalance is an issue that causes hurt in a developing society. Supreme Court CasePaper Let me start off by saying that this case in my opinion, was particularly difficult for me to understand and decipher what I was actually reading. That being said, I think the main issue in this case is whether the parties intended that a construction and repurchase clause should constitute as a covenant. A covenant is a formal written agreement between two parties for the performance of some action, that runs with the land. These actions were to be enforceable by a specific performance, or a future interest. In this case the construction of an office building on a condition subsequent, which is later enforceable only under the Real Property and Procedure Law ( RPAPL ) § 1953. The court denied the purchasers cross motion and remitted the case for further resolution to the Supreme Court. In my opinion the court case went exactly as it should have. The things I would have done differently would have been that I would have had an attorney double check the wording of the deed. With any deed the right to repurchase land from grantee on the grantor s behalf takes proper wording in order for the proper course of action to be taken.
