Thomas More s Position In A Man For All Seasons
In the play A Man for All Seasons by Robert Bolt, the lawyer Thomas More is an intelligent and
outspoken man who is devoted in entirety to the Catholic Church. When King Henry VIII decides to
annul his marriage to his late brother s wife Catherine of Aragon, Thomas More inwardly opposes the
King s actions and opinions. Thomas More is made a significant figure to the country not only from
his writings and honest reputation but by his election to the office of Chancellor following Thomas
Wolsey s death. Thomas Wolsey was the Chancellor of England before Thomas More, but was
dismissed in disgrace due to his failure to secure the annulment of King Henry VIII and Catherine of
Aragon. This inward opposition causes no harm to anyone until Thomas

The Adoption Of Cloud Based Accounting Information System
1 Introduction
The aim of this report is to critically analyze the adoption of cloud based accounting information
system (AIS) in business organizations and also its challenges and benefits of cloud based
environment. Cloud accounting (SAASU 20124, para 3) is also called online accounting , which
provides the same service as accounting software and data is securely stored on servers as known as
the cloud. According to Emma Watkins (Demand Media 2014, para 1), cloud accounting is the use of
computer hardware and software applications delivered as a service over the Internet. It allows to store
files and use applications using many different devices and from many different locations in a simple
way . This report will evaluate the cloud ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cloud computing is an on demand service which has achieved great demand in corporate data centers.
The cloud facilitate the data center to work as the Internet and computing resources to be promoted
and shared as virtual resources in a secure and extensible manner (X). Most small business owners
shifted to use the new technological trend by adopt cloud based information system (SMH).
According to Wang et al. (2008, p. 3), A computing cloud is a set of network enabled service,
providing scalable, QoS guaranteed , normally personalized inexpensive computing infrastructure on
demand, which could be accessed in a simple and pervasive way .
2.2 Functional aspects of cloud computing
Conceptually, users acquire computing platforms or IT infrastructures from computing Clouds and
then run their applications inside. Therefore, computing Clouds render users with services to access
hardware, software and data resources, thereafter an integrated computing platform as a service, in a
transparent way:
HaaS: Hardware as a Service
Hardware as a Service was coined possibly in 2006. As a result of drastic improvement in hardware
virtualization, users could buy IT hardware, or even a complete data center, as a pay as you go
subscription service. The HaaS is flexible and manageable to fulfill the demand.

The Spirit Of Righteousness
As it was, and shall be, from generation to generation, men pursue glorious romances, for
the sake of righteousness, by which they can write an everlasting testimony of their triumph over
evil. From the plains of Clermont, sprung a bid to assemble the soldiers of Christ to relieve the
brethren in the East of the yoke of Islamic rule and [liberate] the tomb of Christ .1 The acts of
these men, who were captivated by the declaration of this holy war, were written according to the
fervor within their hearts for God and the noble commission entrusted to them. Restoration of the
land that was sanctified by the Incarnate God was the prime and, arguably, lone purpose for a
man to leave behind his life and venture to the East with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

powerful and exceedingly unified power who, seeing their instability, rejoiced and seized the
opportunity to regain the Levant and expel the Franks back to Europe. In the film Kingdom of
Heaven,4 Sir Ridley Scott, director, portrays the historical events in the final days of the
Kingdom of Jerusalem under Frankish rule. The presence of historically significant characters in
the film begs the question of accuracy from a historical perspective. Raynald of Châtillon, being
of the knightly class, was a crucial figure during the period of time presented in the film, which
provided a seemingly precise and parallel portrayal of the traditionally noted villain.
Furthermore, the idealized vision of the Kingdom was shared by the men of this time, notably
those portrayed in the film, as a once holy enterprise spoiled by the corruption of the men
embarking in this holy war. The Kingdom was more than stone upon stone in a foreign land, but
rather, a metaphysical entity in its own right.
As a villain, Raynald of Châtillon, played by Brendan Gleeson in the film, is quickly

Thelma And Louise Gender Analysis
According to Rapping, Thelma Louise is a film that opened up feminism in earnest. Also, Rapping
believed that the effects of the film have had a profound impact on feminist thinking about gender
discrimination and sexuality issues that have been in the public eye for the last 20 years. There are
scenes of Thelma Louise in violent scenes from the movie; They commit crimes such as murdering a
rapist, stealing money from a mart, and putting a police officer in the trunk of a car. If Thelma Louise
were men, not women, they would not have thought that no one would have fought in a violent scene
and that it was a problematic scene. In this regard, it can be seen that the difference in the point of
view of women and men at that time is quite

Hooked On A Myth By Victoria Braithwaite Analysis
Have you ever done something your parents told you not to do. Of course you have, everyone has at
one point, some of us did it because we wanted independence or just to show that we could. Well,
when I was 7 I had a weird obsession with touching the eyes of fish, I don t know why they just
looked shiny, glossy, soft, and smooth. My grandparents had a pet catfish and I would try to touch him
and my grandma would always say, Cyanne Marie leave that fish alone! , one day my grandma was
cleaning the fish tank and I snuck around the back to try and pick him up. A minute later I m running
towards the house screaming that the fish had a knife on his back and cut me, my grandparents both
laughed at me and to this day they keep reminding me about the ... Show more content on

The pixar movie is adorable and entertaining and adds to theories about fish s memories, a persistent
myth that fish can only remember something for 3 to 5 seconds, Dr. Kevin Warburton has been
studying fish behavior for the past 15 years at Charles Sturt University and he says that the theory is
nothing but Rubbish! . Warburton says that fish are sophisticated and that fish can remember prey
types and avoid that predator after being attacked once. They retain that memory for months and once
a fish has been caught on a hook and escape they are able to avoid hooks for at least a year, for
example about a year after the salmon is born they will follow the river to the ocean and six years later
they journey back home to respawn. If your fish at home is swimming around in circles in their bowl
it doesn t mean that they forgot that they already did that, it means that they re just bored, if I had
nothing to do all day 24/7 I would go in circles to and just keep singing, Just keep swimming, just
keep swimming, just keep swimming . Of course we want to defend fish they look dumb and we know
that they can t call for help and when we see someone string up a fish by its mouth, tail, or eye we
empathize. We assume it s painful and we imagine ourselves in that condition and then we get an
extent what they might be feeling. We try to share the emotional experience because observing their
pain activates

Disadvantages Of Caadmium
All of us are well acquainted with the fact that cadmium (Cd) is one of the components of the earth s
crust and it will remain present in several places or in different ecosystem on earth i.e., terrestrial,
aquatic and others. Benavides et al. (2005) reported that cadmium is one of the most hazardous heavy
metals in the atmosphere, soil and aquatic system which is finally going into our food chain and
responsible for serious environmental problem and finally leading to the health hazards for the living
organism, for instance, mutagenesis, lung cancer, convulsion and brain damage. The alleviation or
inhibition of cadmium in plants has, therefore, caused extensive attention of the whole society
(Uraguchi et al., 2009; Wang et al., 2008). It is must to know about cadmium their ... Show more

Cadmium and cadmium compounds are, compared to other heavy metals, relatively water soluble and
mobile compound in most soils, generally more bio available and tends to bio accumulate. It induces
cell injury and death by interfering with calcium (Ca) regulation in biological system. Cadmium is not
essential for plant or animal life (IPCS monographs/WHO1995a; WHO1995b). It is more mobile than
zinc but less mobile than nickel. Cadmium is readily accumulated by many organisms, particularly by
microorganism and mollusks where the bio concentration factors are in the order of thousands. Its
mobility essentially depends on the pH; the metal s adsorption to the soil s solid phase can be
multiplied threefold for every unitary increase in pH in a range from 4 to 8. Terrestrial plants may
accumulate cadmium in the roots and cadmium is found bound to the cell walls (AMAP 2002). The
pH level is one of the most important factors controlling cadmium absorption. Compared with other
micropolluants such as Cu or Pb, transfer of Cd to the above ground parts of the plant may be

Apple Iphone Attack
Recently, the FBI has asked Apple to create a backdoor into IPhones, allowing the government and
anyone with access, to bypass security and access the data in an IPhone. The main reason that this has
become such a popular issue is because of the aftermath of the San Bernardino attack. One of the
attackers, Syed Farook, had an IPhone that is believed to have been used to communicate with other
ISIS members. The FBI has been unable to open the phone, and is now asking Apple for a backdoor
into the phone, which Apple promptly declined. If a backdoor is generated for all IPhones, anyone
with the key to unlock the backdoor will have access to the entire world s supply of data on IPhones,
ranging from a middle schooler s IPhone to the CEO of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

locked. If the government wins, they will have access to all the IPhones in the country, but will also be
able to use the backdoor in criminal and counterterrorist cases. In this case, Apple winning has a better
outcome than the FBI winning, because Apple winning is a win for personal and national

Omelas Utilitarianism
The Omelas behavior is considered moral through utilitarianism. In the textbook, utilitarianism is
defined as the sum of individual pleasures and pains. It is not my pleasures or pains that matter but the
cumulative happiness of a number of people (MacKinnon 93). Under this, it is just for the Omelas to
make one child suffer to maintain the happiness of the society. Utilitarianism is better explained and
supported by the trolley problem, a hypothetical case where you have the power to allow a trolley to
kill five workers or one worker by pulling a switch. According to utilitarianism, you would not only be
permitted, but required to pull the switch, which would result in one death and five lives saved
(MacKinnon 100). By losing one life

The Wolfpack Is A 2015 Documentary That Tells The Story Of...
The Wolfpack is a 2015 documentary that tells the story of the Angulo family, specifically the six
movie obsessed brothers, and their life in a tiny New York City apartment. The Angulo brothers, all
named by their Hare Krishna father for different iterations of the god Krishna, shared a six room
apartment with their parents and older sister, Visnu. Their tight knit relationship developed in part
from the isolation the family experienced during the boys childhood. During the film, they tell the
camera how their father had the only key to the apartment and controlled their excursions into the
outside world. Sometimes we got out once a year, says Mukunda Angulo, and one particular year we
never got out at all (The Wolfpack 2015). To compensate for this lack of interaction with the outside
world, the brothers turned to movies, watching thousands of films during the years they stayed inside
the apartment. Their story is unique and compelling. These brothers, despite or perhaps because of the
conditions they were raised in, developed a strength and resiliency that allows them to be surprisingly
well adjusted to modern American life. They now have Facebook pages and Instagram accounts,
friends, love interests, and some have picked up Americanized names (Krisna is now Glenn, and
Jagadisa goes by Eddie). The Wolfpack offers viewers a glimpse into their world, as filmmaker
Crystal Moselle was given unprecedented access to their apartment and their lives. Moselle has

The At The Graph, There Been Fluctuations On The Price Of...
From looking at the graph, there have been fluctuations in the share price from the 24th September
2014 till 5th November 2014. For a week from the 8th October 2014, the share prices have dropped.
This could have been due to a decrease in revenue. As a result, this may have led to investors falling
out with Cineworld and therefore, people may not have wanted to invest in the company due to its
poor sales. From the 15th October 2014 to the 29th October, there has been a steady increase in the
share price. This could have been due to an increase in sales and therefore building up investors
confidence to buy shares in Cineworld. Task 3 Cineworld Group was founded in 1995 by Steve
Wiener and Senior Management Team. It is one of the leading cinema groups in Europe. Between
1996 and 2004, 35 multiplex cinemas opened with the first one being located in Stevenage. Originally
a private company, Cineworld re registered as a public company in May 2006 and was listed on the
London Stock Exchange during 2007. In July 2008, Cineworld set up a joint venture screen
advertisement business with Odeon called Digital Cinema Media Limited. The first IMAX screen
opened in Edinburgh in December 2011 followed by a further 7 being opened between March 2012
and December 2012. In total, there are 81 cinemas with 79 being located in the UK and one each in

Descriptive Essay On Buried Alive
Buried Alive The morning dawned bright and clear, if a little cold. The mountains overhead loomed
with patches of snow on their peaks. An ever present reminder that winter was just around the corner. I
woke up that day with as light a heart as I had ever had in the years since my dear wife s death.
Pulling on my boots and running a finger through my hair, I went to prepare for another brisk
Midwestern day. I paused at my darling little girls room, and gently knocked on the door to wake her.
Hope? Are you awake honey? Daddy? came the sleepy reply. I entered her room and scooped up Hope
into my arms. The adorable 6 year nuzzled her curls into my chest. Now you be a good girl for you

Then, when Hope was four, outta the blue, Ann died. She became ill about two weeks before her

Now I figured maybe I should have. A restless curiosity built upside of me and I grabbed the side of
the car. What do you know of Ann? The gentlemen removed my fingers one at a time I will explain all
that I know, But only if you agree to accompany me to town. I eyed the automobile suspiciously while
the lavish man covertly eyed my work garb. How s bout I follow your machine with my team. Please,

importantly, what did he know of my lovely Ann? It seemed to take an eternity and a half, but at
length we finally arrived at the backwater town. While I hooked up my team of horses to the post the
fancy man positioned himself at a secluded outdoor table. I strided up to him and took my seat. I
stared pointedly at the man, waiting for him to speak, but he paused, thinking. I was ready to pummel

Clinically, the oral findings were high arched palate in all cases, malocclusion in 6 cases and
macrostomia in 4 cases while multiple impactions of the teeth were detected in four patients (Gataa,
2015, p. 7713). Additionally, only one patient had a cleft palate. From a radiographic perspective, all
patients had zygomatic hypoplasia and seven patients had maxillary sinus hypoplasia. Many patients
also had micrognathia and short ramus of the mandible. As only two patients had family history of
TCS, six patients had TCS due to a new mutation. These results exemplify the notion that TCS
patients are all affected differently, and with varying types and degrees of deformities, due to the fact
that most cases arise from a new mutation. Living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This review discussed how Treacher Collins syndrome is caused by a decline in migrating neural crest
cells as determined in the genetic study, which suggested that inhibited p53 gene function could help
to prevent craniofacial anomalies. The decline in migrating neural crest cells then results in many oral
and dental malformations as exhibited in the clinical study, such as a high arched palate, malocclusion,
macrostomia, multiple impactions of the teeth, and cleft palate. The presence of these malformations
has been shown to have a negative correlation on the lives of those diagnosed with the syndrome as
portrayed in the quality of life study. High levels of depression and low levels of quality of life were
seen in patients diagnosed with TCS. Researchers are starting to gain more insight into the causes of
TCS which could help in determining a prevention for TCS. A definitive procedure to prevent TCS,
including what triggers the activation of p53 and the resulting loss of neural crest cells, would be a
significant discovery given the evidence of physical and emotional effects Treacher Collins syndrome

The Machine Conscience
In today s society, we use certain objects such as machines every single day to perform jobs and tasks
that would require human intelligence and judgment. Artificial Intelligence allow machines to send
information in a matter of seconds, regulate ground and air traffic, guide missiles, and can perform
any human task, but what if machines are create more like humans in the near future. Would we
welcome them into society as ‘one of the guys or would we discriminate their kind? The excerpt on
Machine Consciousness by William Lycan argues the points for and against the human acceptance of
an intelligent machine. To answer philosophical statements and questions on machine consciousness

The chemical composition of the anatomy of a machine also brings up the question of racial or ethnic
prejudice. The people in this futuristic society have more complex issue with ethnicity of a being.
Should society discriminate people by the color of their skin or the composition of their anatomy? In
this case, most would probably discriminate the intelligent machines as a thing they are superior to.
Superiority in this case does not come from color, but from composition. Humans would not accept
the machines for several reasons. First of all, even though the machine has a programmed mind, it
does not have a real conscience. This results in the inability to adapt to new situations. For example, if
a humanoid was built to be a house maid and one day was ask to mow the lawn, it would be unable to
because there is no program in their mind that gives them the information require to mow a lawn. One
could program the most complex machine, that represents a person from head to toe, but its mind does
not have the mental ability to mature or make exceptions to moral rules subconsciously, even if a
program is create to randomly replicate human emotions and the maturity of the mind. Another reason
humans wouldn t accept machines is that computers are told what to do and they do not have
spontaneity or a freedom a choice. A program can make the machines reactions and emotions erratic,
but it can

Shaun Callarman s Into The Wild
Into The Wild was a tremendous story which Shaun Callarman did not have many positive things to
say about Chris McCandless, the main character. He went on this adventure to find out what life is all
about in his own eyes. He wanted to see how different living in the wild really was compared to
society because he was not satisfied with his living arrangements and household. Shaun s quote says
that he thinks Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no common sense,
and he had no business going into Alaska with his Romantic silliness. He made a lot of mistakes based
on arrogance. I don t admire him at all for his courage nor his noble ideas. Really, I think he was just

Difference Between Modernist And Modernism
Modernist Postmodernist
Design in 20th century is influenced on modernist and postmodernist philosophies. Before
development of Modernism, taste was dictated to the wealthy classes by the whims of the king or
other élite figures (emperors come to mind). Tradition was the dictated rule and deviating from that
resulted in ridicule. The idea of Modernism was the basis for 20th Century design, fashion and art. It
still affects us today.
Ironically, Modernism evolved from looking to the past, at a time when mass production and
consumption had taken over from style and taste. In the mid 19th Century, groups of designers
rebelled against mass production and used the best of what the past could offer to bring a new attitude
towards taste and style. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Post modernism is made up of many sub cultures and genres with different particular aims. The best,
simple definition which we can use is that post modernism is a reaction against modernism and
responds to the social and political issues of today. Modernism was destined to disappoint as it
continued to preoccupy itself with the reductionist chase for empirical fact. Post modernism often
produces what appears to be fiction which grows or matures towards fact.
Postmodernism shattered established ideas about style and brought a radical freedom to art and design.
At its height in the 1980s, postmodern designers such as the Memphis group, Alessi and Arad,
contributed to the new wave: a few thrilling years when image was everything.
Postmodernism challenges the traditional cultural values of today s societies, in particular, western
society. Life today is radically different to what it was fifty or even thirty years ago. The traditional
values of marriage and family no longer exist; with women having the same status in the work place
as men and also not settling down until later in life. A lot of couples choose not to have children at all.
Religion also has less of an effect on society as it used to, it is almost becoming irrelevant to many
people. Postmodernism has become a description of these shifts in contemporary society and

Importance Of Pollution Prevention Act 1990
THE BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION
ACT OF 1990
BABAJIDE DARE FAGBOLA
American Military University
EVSP411: Environmental Policy, Regulation, and law
Prof: Lisa Browning
NOVEMBER, 2017
The Pollution Prevention Act 1990 (PPA) came into existence in order to raise the interest in reducing
pollution from the source or in another word Pollution Prevention in a way which encourages efficient
cost reduction practice from the source.
This policy by the United State according to this act mandated that pollution be prevented and most
especially reduced from the source. It further states that, in an instance where pollution in unavoidably
or unable to be prevented, then recycling of such waste should be done considering the safety and well
being of the environment and the people. In a case where it is not possible to prevent pollution or
recycled, such need to be treated in a safe manner to protect to reduce any hazardous environment
(Burnett, 2000).
The act explains source reduction as such practice that will reduce the quality of all hazardous
substance, pollution or any contaminant that enters waste stream or that is released to the environment
before it is recycled, treated or disposed. It is a means to reduce any hazards caused to the health of
the public and the ecosystem in connection with the release of any pollutant.
PPA empowered EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to develop and co ordinate all pollution

Problems Dealing With Liberty And Social Order
Problems Dealing with Liberty and Social Order
The Declaration of Independence, the most significant statement of natural rights and liberty ever
made, accompanied the birth of the United States as a nation. Ever since the Declaration of
Independence was instituted, American leaders have worked overtime to ensure that the citizens of the
US enjoy their freedoms and rights. In fact, United States falls under the category of one of the freest
nations in the world, in consideration of the huge population and vast ethnic and racial ties in the
nation. The United States has also tried to offer a helping hand to nations that have traded their
freedoms for the promise of security and liberty, or unlimited freedom and have achieved neither of
the two promises. However, the biggest fear that lies in the American citizens and leaders is how the
nation can effectively manage security, civil liberties, and social order. In this paper, the discussion
revolves around problems that the United States and other nations face dealing with liberty and social
order.
Liberty refers to the state of an individual being free and not conforming to the oppressive restrictions
placed by the authorities that seek to demand one s behavior, their way of life, and political views. In
simpler terms, liberty refers to the power an individual has to act as they please. Social order, on the
other hand, refers to a set of social structures, customs, relations, institutions, and values meant at

Fragmentation Of The California Red Legged Frog
Peter Eskander

Biology 327
12 September 2015
Fragmentation of the California Red legged Frog Environment. The issue I will be raising is one that
might not be familiar to all who reside in California and that is primarily focused around the
fragmentation and overall mutilation of areas that keep and protect the species Rana Draytonii,
otherwise known as the California Red legged Frog. One of the reasons I raise this issue, is because
most importantly these frogs were named the official state amphibian of California via AB 2364
(Patrick McGreevy.). An even greater reason to discuss this dilemma is because they are limited in

highlight their ecological value to the state and how the California red legged frog s value is more
significant than the fragmentation and intrusion taking place. These red legged frogs are currently
listed as endangered, but they are vulnerable to human intrusion by means of erecting buildings,
projects for road construction, introduction of a non native species along with habitat fragmentation in
areas near where they might usually reside such as near the south Mendocino County and along
southern California with populations extending to the Santa Rosa Plateau (Hammerson, Geoffrey).

Rejection of Existentialism Essays
In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both
atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he
presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out
its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its
essence precedes its existence. (Sartre) Sartre rejects this idea when it comes to mankind and declares
that humans in themselves have no nature and define themselves after coming into existence. This
stems from his atheistic worldview, in which the rejection of a higher power leads him to accept the
fact that humans are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first
higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to
life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no
purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world
pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent.
From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the
question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are
incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a
series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans
are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in
itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries.
While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can
have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper
knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of
subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular

Introduction:
Section 2(13) of company s act defines a director may be defined as a person having control over the
direction, conduct, management, or superintendence of affairs of a company. Any person in
accordance with whose direction or instructions, the board of directors of a company is custom to act
is deemed to be a director of a company.
Section 2 (6) of the company s act states that the directors are collectively referred to as board of

Section 4 of the Companies Act 1965 stated that the director of a company is a person who is chosen
to be the directors or alternate directors apart from the given name upon on their position (Rachagan,
2002). Director is not just only a person that formally selected to the office. Even though they are not
validly appointed, the s4 of the Act can as well consider certain persons to be directors, but only if the
contrary intention appears.
One of the duties that company directors need to comply with is fiduciary duties. This is so as
company directors are said to be in a fiduciary relationship with the company. When directors are in a
fiduciary relationship with the company, they are prohibited from doing any acts deemed prejudicial to
the company. In other words, by applying the judgment in Hospital Products Ltd v United States
Surgical Corpn, directors cannot and should not use his position to receive personal gains.
The traditional view is that the directors owed a fiduciary duty to the company. This is the reason why
directors are prohibited from receiving personal gain from their status as directors in a company. The
nature of the relationship i.e. fiduciary relationship between directors and a company rendered the
directors to act for the best interest of the company. This point can be supported by looking at Section
132(1) of the Companies Act 1965 which states that a director must act in bona fide when exercising
his powers for a proper purpose and

Essay about Punic Wars
Discuss the Roman Punic Wars, in terms of their circumstances and overall effect on Rome s
economic and social development Also discuss the ensuing Gracchan turbulence from the same

The circumstance for the Roman Punic Wars towards Rome was a simple human
reaction. If an outsider such as Italy, Carthage, or Greece make threats towards Rome,
Rome will simply fight. The Punic Wars lasted in 3 stages, all resulting to the obsessive
pride and higher standings of Rome. Rome s initial desire of expansion was only for
farming land. Romans believed like anyone else that victory brought them honor as well

Italy and defeated Carthage. Carthage lost Sicily, Sardinia, and the Islands of Corisca.
Slowly Rome was developing into an empire, yet still in fear of being

Society s Preoccupation With Risk
The risk society has created a risk awareness in the Criminal Justice System. Professionals have
become anxious of the hazards presented by modernisation , new innovative strategies to deal with the
risks, and technological advances. These developments have caused uncertainty, creating further risks
and a collective vulnerability to risk awareness (Giddens, 1991). This assignment will critically
analyse the way in which society s preoccupation with risk, influences the way in which the probation
service and police work.
The first part of this paper will discuss the significate changes to probation practice, by reviewing
probation history from the 1960s in England and Wales. Discussing how influential penal trends,
policy and practice evolution, have resulted in social work and probation work training becoming
detached (Robinson and McNeill, 2004). Retributivism theory in a culture of risk will be studied, with
the recommendations to punishment examined. The what works agenda (Martinson, 1974) will be
discussed progressing on to the emergence of populist punitiveness , and critically examining the
correlation with risk theory. Focusing on the progression of probation practice in late modernity, and
the use of risk assessments, it focuses on the risk instruments of clinical, actuarial and mixed
approaches. Attention is also given to Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA), and
how the probation service and police, work together to protect the public

Analysis Of The Film Black Robe
In the 1991 film Black Robe, which is set during the 1630s Beaver War in North America, the French
make attempts to search for and continue to convert a Huron Indian tribe to Christianity. To complete
this mission, the founder of the French settlement in Quebec, Samuel Champlain, sends a Jesuit priest,
Father LaForgue, off to find the Indian tribe, and a man named Daniel and a family of Indians, who
are a part of the Algonquin tribe, accompany Father LaForgue on this journey. Some historical events
that are mentioned in American Colonies by Alan Taylor that are dramatized by the film include the
relationship between the Jesuits and the Indians and the love story. While, to an extent, the
relationship between the two parties had many moments of accuracy, the film also made it seem like
no matter what the Jesuit priest always was only looking out for the Indian people in order to convert
them. The film ignores the side of the relationship where the French Jesuits primarily colonize the
Indians, which ultimately leads to the death of thousands of Indians. Also, the love story between
Daniel and Annuka who is the daughter of Chomina, who is accompanying the French on their
mission, was dramatized. Recognizing that this love story s purpose is to entertain the viewer, the way
the cultures collide is not as accurate as it could be. Overall, however, the film does deal with these
dramatizations in a responsible and fairly accurate way. In the film, the French perceive the

John Scopes Research Paper

The Effect of the Scopes Trial on Education
The 1920s was a decade of significant importance in the world of science.
In 1859, Charles Darwin declared his theory of evolution humans had descended from apes. This
ideology was unpopular throughout the minds of freedom and Jesus loving Americans. Although 1920
s technology was on its way to new findings, the traditionally southern public eye didn t seem to be
fascinated with the thought of people descending from humongous and hairy beings. The American
Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) supported Darwin s theory, though. The Union was formed to protect
the rights proclaimed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights. With that mission in mind, the ACLU
paid for John Scopes defense team and promoted that he challenge the law (Leinwand 206). John
Scopes was a science teacher in Dayton, Tennessee, specializing in biology. He used a state approved
textbook to teach his students, but because the book included Darwin s theory of evolution, Scopes
was not legally able to teach that portion of the text. He was then arrested for violating the Butler Act,
which was just recently passed, and defended the ACLU (Green 164).

Short Answer: Some of the key historical events that are referenced most often in regard to racial
disparity include the unarmed beating of Rodney King, the racial profiling of a black Harvard
professor, and the many unwarranted shootings and deaths of black men across the nation. But for
these few named instances, these are the ones that are indicative of the many differences that mold the
way the criminal justice system is perceived in society today. Eliminating critical criminal disparities

Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Stereotactic radiosurgery works the same as all other forms of radiation treatment. It does not remove
the tumor or lesion, but is distorts the DNA of the tumor cells. The cells then lose their ability to
reproduce and retain fluids. The tumor reduction occurs at the rate of normal growth for the specific
tumor cell. In lesions such as AVMs (a tangle of blood vessels in the brain), radiosurgery causes the
blood vessels to thicken and close off. The shrinking of a tumor or closing off of a vessel occurs over a
period of time. For benign tumors and vessels, this will usually be 18 months to two years. For
malignant or metastatic tumors, results may be seen in a few months, because these cells are very fast
growing.

Rate Laws Lab
Reaction order and rate laws are key to understanding the speed in which a reaction occurs and the
necessary amounts of each reactant in a reaction. Reaction order determines the concentration of each
reactant and can be used to calculate the amount of a substance in a reaction. The zeroth, first, and
second orders are the most common and were used in this lab. The order of a reaction can be found by
comparing the quantity of a specific substance and the rate in which the reaction occurred. Rate laws
contribute to the speed of differing reactions. This is a necessary principle in many fields. For
example, it is necessary to know the speed of a reaction that goes on during the inflation of an airbag.

Analysis Of The Article Mitosis Can Drive Cell...
In the article, Mitosis Can Drive Cell Cannibalism Through Entosis , Joanne Durgen (et al.) suggests
that cell division may cause living cells to engulf each other by invading another living cell. Although
the word cannibalism sounds terrible, cell eating cell is very descriptive of what happens in this
process and is shown that it may be beneficial in limiting tumor growth. Briefing over where entosis is
found and what it does, what proteins regulate the entosis process, and possible beneficial
characteristics in human cancer and chemotherapy in this article may give a better understanding of
this microscopic process.
First, let s start with entosis. The beginning of the article states that this cell swallowing process
happens in homotypic epithelial cells (Durgan et al.). It is shown that the functions of this process uses
clinging junctions and the production of actomyosin based contractions. A cell pushing into or
invading into a deformed one gives a way of engulfment. Durgan also shows that the process just gone
over triggers the matrix to break down, causing it to be unstable and unable to resist the force coming
from another cell. In a figurative sense, entosis is like bumpers cars. One of the cars has a faulty
bumper to protect it because the person in the other car loosened the bolts, causing it to fall off, which
makes it useless. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Beer Is The Alcoholic Beverage Of Choice
Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks and has played a role in human history for roughly 8,000
years. Beer is the alcoholic beverage of choice in North America and many other parts around the
world. It has shaped the culture of human civilization, social interaction and has had a significant
contribution to our economy. In order to get a proper perspective on beer you have to look at three
main periods; ancient history (the development period), modernization of beer and its effects, and
what role beer plays today and where it is going.
Archaeologists have uncovered ancient Babylonian beer recipes engrave on clay tablets as early as
3500 B.C. This early beer was very crude and many people today would probably not consider
drinking it today as it had bread chunks and had the consistency similar to porridge. To drink this
ancient beer people would consume it using straws to filter out sediment and large chunks.
Once Beer started to become more popular and commercialized, the first set of laws regulating it were
set in place by the Babylonians. Paragraph 108 in the Code of Hammurabi stated and if anyone were
caught selling beer for cash instead of corn in order to cheat their customers, they would be drowned
as a punishment. The law also put restrictions on ordinary women from drinking beer with the
exception of priestesses who could consume it freely. These laws date back to 1754 BC and since this
date, beer has been regulated by society.

Quality Issues in Project Management
QUALITY ISSUES IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

There are a number of issues surrounding the general area of quality in project management. You will
need to be aware of some of the requirements of PRINCE (or PRINCE2) as well as the more general
aspects of the ISO 9000 and 14000 series.
2. Quality requirements as part of PRINCE
PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments) was revised from PRINCE in 1996 and is the
accepted standard for the control of projects in the computing area of the public sector. It is also
widely used outside this sector as a way of formalising project control procedures.
It lays down 8 key processes concerning (content generally obvious):

2. Planning of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We should also be aware of the ISO 14000 which covers legislative requirements with respect to
environmental impacts. This is relevant, in parts, to projects and their impacts.
4. The Prince2 Quality Plan/Manual:
The quality plan needs to cover in detail several key aspects of project control:
How quality criteria will be set?
What measures are to be taken to prevent the occurrence of faults or variances?
What will be done to detect and correct any faults/variances that do occur?
What tests/procedures will be used to demonstrate that quality criteria are being met?
What review and follow up procedures will be used?
Who will perform the quality control work?
What documentation will be produced by the process?
5. The Prince2 Quality Review and Log:
This might be the most important part of quality control in your PRINCE2 project. The aim is to find
any errors, deviations from standards or omissions in the task or stage once it is claimed to be finished
or at any other agreed point.
It is a face to face meeting (of no more than two hours) which should allow early error or variance
trapping. It consists of preparation, review and follow up procedures.
A quality log is kept of all invitations, attendees, results, corrective actions and sign offs. This log can
then be inspected as an audit trail by the user/stakeholder/client or by any independent quality
assurance agency in event of any disputes.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Black Money
In an attempt to reduce black money, Prime minister Narendra Modi has withdrawn two major
currency denominations Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes. This change has resulted in a boost in digital
means of transactions. At the same time there are a lot more ramifications for the larger public.
OBJECTIVES
Stop cash funded terrorism.
Reforms:Banking sector needs.
Curb black money.
Move towards cashless economy.
Other than the expected results, few interesting changes has occurred due to this initiative. Like, barter
system is making a comeback in rural India with the demonetization drive. According to the Wall

honey. Another interesting observation was people selling their old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on eBay

Within 7 days of of announcement of demonetization, Paytm has witnessed over 7 million transactions
worth Rs 120 crore a day.
DISADVANTAGES
The biggest disadvantage of demonetization is the chaos among public since everybody wants to get
rid of demonetized notes.
Removing the old currency from the economy and printing new ones enough to replace the old ones
is an expensive process, to be funded by the government. If the benefit derived by demonetization is
not enough to put off this cost, it will end up giving negative results.
Another problem is that majority of times this move is targeted towards black money but if people
have not kept cash as their black money and rotated or used that money in other asset classes like real
estate, gold and so on then there is no guarantee that demonetization will help in catching corrupt
people.
Despite the efforts taken, black money is already back in the economy in the form of new
currencies. So the long term benefits that we are aiming for may not actually be achieved by this

  • 2. Thomas More s Position In A Man For All Seasons In the play A Man for All Seasons by Robert Bolt, the lawyer Thomas More is an intelligent and outspoken man who is devoted in entirety to the Catholic Church. When King Henry VIII decides to annul his marriage to his late brother s wife Catherine of Aragon, Thomas More inwardly opposes the King s actions and opinions. Thomas More is made a significant figure to the country not only from his writings and honest reputation but by his election to the office of Chancellor following Thomas Wolsey s death. Thomas Wolsey was the Chancellor of England before Thomas More, but was dismissed in disgrace due to his failure to secure the annulment of King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Cloud accounting (SAASU 20124, para 3) is also called online accounting , which provides the same service as accounting software and data is securely stored on servers as known as the cloud. According to Emma Watkins (Demand Media 2014, para 1), cloud accounting is the use of computer hardware and software applications delivered as a service over the Internet. • 4. The Spirit Of Righteousness As it was, and shall be, from generation to generation, men pursue glorious romances, for the sake of righteousness, by which they can write an everlasting testimony of their triumph over evil. From the plains of Clermont, sprung a bid to assemble the soldiers of Christ to relieve the brethren in the East of the yoke of Islamic rule and [liberate] the tomb of Christ .1 The acts of these men, who were captivated by the declaration of this holy war, were written according to the fervor within their hearts for God and the noble commission entrusted to them. Restoration of the land that was sanctified by the Incarnate God was the prime and, arguably, lone purpose for a man to leave behind his life and venture to the East with ... In the film Kingdom of Heaven,4 Sir Ridley Scott, director, portrays the historical events in the final days of the Kingdom of Jerusalem under Frankish rule. The presence of historically significant characters in the film begs the question of accuracy from a historical perspective. Raynald of Châtillon, being of the knightly class, was a crucial figure during the period of time presented in the film, which provided a seemingly precise and parallel portrayal of the traditionally noted villain. Furthermore, the idealized vision of the Kingdom was shared by the men of this time, notably

  • 6. Thelma And Louise Gender Analysis According to Rapping, Thelma Louise is a film that opened up feminism in earnest. Also, Rapping believed that the effects of the film have had a profound impact on feminist thinking about gender discrimination and sexuality issues that have been in the public eye for the last 20 years. There are scenes of Thelma Louise in violent scenes from the movie; They commit crimes such as murdering a rapist, stealing money from a mart, and putting a police officer in the trunk of a car. If Thelma Louise were men, not women, they would not have thought that no one would have fought in a violent scene and that it was a problematic scene. In this regard, it can be seen that the difference in the point of view of women and men at that time is quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Hooked On A Myth By Victoria Braithwaite Analysis Have you ever done something your parents told you not to do. Of course you have, everyone has at one point, some of us did it because we wanted independence or just to show that we could. Well, when I was 7 I had a weird obsession with touching the eyes of fish, I don t know why they just looked shiny, glossy, soft, and smooth. My grandparents had a pet catfish and I would try to touch him and my grandma would always say, Cyanne Marie leave that fish alone! , one day my grandma was cleaning the fish tank and I snuck around the back to try and pick him up. A minute later I m running towards the house screaming that the fish had a knife on his back and cut me, my grandparents both laughed at me and to this day they keep reminding me about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The pixar movie is adorable and entertaining and adds to theories about fish s memories, a persistent myth that fish can only remember something for 3 to 5 seconds, Dr. Kevin Warburton has been studying fish behavior for the past 15 years at Charles Sturt University and he says that the theory is nothing but Rubbish! . Warburton says that fish are sophisticated and that fish can remember prey types and avoid that predator after being attacked once. They retain that memory for months and once a fish has been caught on a hook and escape they are able to avoid hooks for at least a year, for example about a year after the salmon is born they will follow the river to the ocean and six years later they journey back home to respawn. If your fish at home is swimming around in circles in their bowl it doesn t mean that they forgot that they already did that, it means that they re just bored, if I had nothing to do all day 24/7 I would go in circles to and just keep singing, Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming . Of course we want to defend fish they look dumb and we know that they can t call for help and when we see someone string up a fish by its mouth, tail, or eye we empathize. We assume it s painful and we imagine ourselves in that condition and then we get an extent what they might be feeling. • 8. Disadvantages Of Caadmium All of us are well acquainted with the fact that cadmium (Cd) is one of the components of the earth s crust and it will remain present in several places or in different ecosystem on earth i.e., terrestrial, aquatic and others. Benavides et al. (2005) reported that cadmium is one of the most hazardous heavy metals in the atmosphere, soil and aquatic system which is finally going into our food chain and responsible for serious environmental problem and finally leading to the health hazards for the living organism, for instance, mutagenesis, lung cancer, convulsion and brain damage. The alleviation or inhibition of cadmium in plants has, therefore, caused extensive attention of the whole society (Uraguchi et al., 2009; Wang et al., 2008). It is must to know about cadmium their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cadmium and cadmium compounds are, compared to other heavy metals, relatively water soluble and mobile compound in most soils, generally more bio available and tends to bio accumulate. It induces cell injury and death by interfering with calcium (Ca) regulation in biological system. Cadmium is not essential for plant or animal life (IPCS monographs/WHO1995a; WHO1995b). It is more mobile than zinc but less mobile than nickel. Cadmium is readily accumulated by many organisms, particularly by microorganism and mollusks where the bio concentration factors are in the order of thousands. Its mobility essentially depends on the pH; the metal s adsorption to the soil s solid phase can be multiplied threefold for every unitary increase in pH in a range from 4 to 8. Terrestrial plants may accumulate cadmium in the roots and cadmium is found bound to the cell walls (AMAP 2002). The pH level is one of the most important factors controlling cadmium absorption. Compared with other micropolluants such as Cu or Pb, transfer of Cd to the above ground parts of the plant may be considered as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Apple Iphone Attack Recently, the FBI has asked Apple to create a backdoor into IPhones, allowing the government and anyone with access, to bypass security and access the data in an IPhone. The main reason that this has become such a popular issue is because of the aftermath of the San Bernardino attack. One of the attackers, Syed Farook, had an IPhone that is believed to have been used to communicate with other ISIS members. The FBI has been unable to open the phone, and is now asking Apple for a backdoor into the phone, which Apple promptly declined. • 10. Omelas Utilitarianism The Omelas behavior is considered moral through utilitarianism. In the textbook, utilitarianism is defined as the sum of individual pleasures and pains. It is not my pleasures or pains that matter but the cumulative happiness of a number of people (MacKinnon 93). Under this, it is just for the Omelas to make one child suffer to maintain the happiness of the society. Utilitarianism is better explained and supported by the trolley problem, a hypothetical case where you have the power to allow a trolley to kill five workers or one worker by pulling a switch. According to utilitarianism, you would not only be permitted, but required to pull the switch, which would result in one death and five lives saved (MacKinnon 100). By losing one life ... • 11. The Wolfpack Is A 2015 Documentary That Tells The Story Of... The Wolfpack is a 2015 documentary that tells the story of the Angulo family, specifically the six movie obsessed brothers, and their life in a tiny New York City apartment. The Angulo brothers, all named by their Hare Krishna father for different iterations of the god Krishna, shared a six room apartment with their parents and older sister, Visnu. Their tight knit relationship developed in part from the isolation the family experienced during the boys childhood. During the film, they tell the camera how their father had the only key to the apartment and controlled their excursions into the outside world. Sometimes we got out once a year, says Mukunda Angulo, and one particular year we never got out at all (The Wolfpack 2015). To compensate for this lack of interaction with the outside world, the brothers turned to movies, watching thousands of films during the years they stayed inside the apartment. Their story is unique and compelling. These brothers, despite or perhaps because of the conditions they were raised in, developed a strength and resiliency that allows them to be surprisingly well adjusted to modern American life. They now have Facebook pages and Instagram accounts, friends, love interests, and some have picked up Americanized names (Krisna is now Glenn, and Jagadisa goes by Eddie). The Wolfpack offers viewers a glimpse into their world, as filmmaker Crystal Moselle was given unprecedented access to their apartment and their lives. Moselle has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The At The Graph, There Been Fluctuations On The Price Of... From looking at the graph, there have been fluctuations in the share price from the 24th September 2014 till 5th November 2014. For a week from the 8th October 2014, the share prices have dropped. This could have been due to a decrease in revenue. As a result, this may have led to investors falling out with Cineworld and therefore, people may not have wanted to invest in the company due to its poor sales. From the 15th October 2014 to the 29th October, there has been a steady increase in the share price. This could have been due to an increase in sales and therefore building up investors confidence to buy shares in Cineworld. Task 3 Cineworld Group was founded in 1995 by Steve Wiener and Senior Management Team. It is one of the leading cinema groups in Europe. Between 1996 and 2004, 35 multiplex cinemas opened with the first one being located in Stevenage. Originally a private company, Cineworld re registered as a public company in May 2006 and was listed on the London Stock Exchange during 2007. In July 2008, Cineworld set up a joint venture screen advertisement business with Odeon called Digital Cinema Media Limited. The first IMAX screen opened in Edinburgh in December 2011 followed by a further 7 being opened between March 2012 and December 2012. In total, there are 81 cinemas with 79 being located in the UK and one each in Ireland and Jersey. • 13. Descriptive Essay On Buried Alive Buried Alive The morning dawned bright and clear, if a little cold. The mountains overhead loomed with patches of snow on their peaks. An ever present reminder that winter was just around the corner. I woke up that day with as light a heart as I had ever had in the years since my dear wife s death. Pulling on my boots and running a finger through my hair, I went to prepare for another brisk Midwestern day. I paused at my darling little girls room, and gently knocked on the door to wake her. A restless curiosity built upside of me and I grabbed the side of the car. What do you know of Ann? The gentlemen removed my fingers one at a time I will explain all that I know, But only if you agree to accompany me to town. I eyed the automobile suspiciously while the lavish man covertly eyed my work garb. How s bout I follow your machine with my team. Please, said he, lead the way. It d be my pleasure Sir. Not ten minutes later, we were on the road and my mind was awash with questions. Who was this here costly clothed man? What did he want? And most importantly, what did he know of my lovely Ann? It seemed to take an eternity and a half, but at length we finally arrived at the backwater town. While I hooked up my team of horses to the post the fancy man positioned himself at a secluded outdoor table. I strided up to him and took my seat. I stared pointedly at the man, waiting for him to speak, but he paused, thinking. I was ready to pummel him by the time he finally spoke. Do you remember the day Annettia died. I was surprised at his bluntness. It d be pretty hard for me to forget when my wife was taken from me. Just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Treacher Collins Syndrome Essay Clinically, the oral findings were high arched palate in all cases, malocclusion in 6 cases and macrostomia in 4 cases while multiple impactions of the teeth were detected in four patients (Gataa, 2015, p. 7713). Additionally, only one patient had a cleft palate. From a radiographic perspective, all patients had zygomatic hypoplasia and seven patients had maxillary sinus hypoplasia. Many patients also had micrognathia and short ramus of the mandible. As only two patients had family history of TCS, six patients had TCS due to a new mutation. These results exemplify the notion that TCS patients are all affected differently, and with varying types and degrees of deformities, due to the fact that most cases arise from a new mutation. This review discussed how Treacher Collins syndrome is caused by a decline in migrating neural crest cells as determined in the genetic study, which suggested that inhibited p53 gene function could help to prevent craniofacial anomalies. The decline in migrating neural crest cells then results in many oral and dental malformations as exhibited in the clinical study, such as a high arched palate, malocclusion, macrostomia, multiple impactions of the teeth, and cleft palate. The presence of these malformations has been shown to have a negative correlation on the lives of those diagnosed with the syndrome as portrayed in the quality of life study. The chemical composition of the anatomy of a machine also brings up the question of racial or ethnic prejudice. The people in this futuristic society have more complex issue with ethnicity of a being. Should society discriminate people by the color of their skin or the composition of their anatomy? In this case, most would probably discriminate the intelligent machines as a thing they are superior to. Superiority in this case does not come from color, but from composition. Humans would not accept the machines for several reasons. First of all, even though the machine has a programmed mind, it does not have a real conscience. This results in the inability to adapt to new situations. For example, if a humanoid was built to be a house maid and one day was ask to mow the lawn, it would be unable to because there is no program in their mind that gives them the information require to mow a lawn. One could program the most complex machine, that represents a person from head to toe, but its mind does not have the mental ability to mature or make exceptions to moral rules subconsciously, even if a program is create to randomly replicate human emotions and the maturity of the mind. Another reason humans wouldn t accept machines is that computers are told what to do and they do not have spontaneity or a freedom a choice. Before development of Modernism, taste was dictated to the wealthy classes by the whims of the king or other élite figures (emperors come to mind). Tradition was the dictated rule and deviating from that resulted in ridicule. The idea of Modernism was the basis for 20th Century design, fashion and art. It still affects us today. Ironically, Modernism evolved from looking to the past, at a time when mass production and consumption had taken over from style and taste. In the mid 19th Century, groups of designers rebelled against mass production and used the best of what the past could offer to bring a new attitude towards taste and style. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Post modernism is made up of many sub cultures and genres with different particular aims. The best, simple definition which we can use is that post modernism is a reaction against modernism and responds to the social and political issues of today. Modernism was destined to disappoint as it continued to preoccupy itself with the reductionist chase for empirical fact. Post modernism often produces what appears to be fiction which grows or matures towards fact. Postmodernism shattered established ideas about style and brought a radical freedom to art and design. At its height in the 1980s, postmodern designers such as the Memphis group, Alessi and Arad, contributed to the new wave: a few thrilling years when image was everything. Postmodernism challenges the traditional cultural values of today s societies, in particular, western society. Life today is radically different to what it was fifty or even thirty years ago. The traditional values of marriage and family no longer exist; with women having the same status in the work place as men and also not settling down until later in life. A lot of couples choose not to have children at all. Religion also has less of an effect on society as it used to, it is almost becoming irrelevant to many people. This policy by the United State according to this act mandated that pollution be prevented and most especially reduced from the source. It further states that, in an instance where pollution in unavoidably or unable to be prevented, then recycling of such waste should be done considering the safety and well being of the environment and the people. In a case where it is not possible to prevent pollution or recycled, such need to be treated in a safe manner to protect to reduce any hazardous environment (Burnett, 2000). The act explains source reduction as such practice that will reduce the quality of all hazardous substance, pollution or any contaminant that enters waste stream or that is released to the environment before it is recycled, treated or disposed. It is a means to reduce any hazards caused to the health of the public and the ecosystem in connection with the release of any pollutant. Problems Dealing With Liberty And Social Order Problems Dealing with Liberty and Social Order The Declaration of Independence, the most significant statement of natural rights and liberty ever made, accompanied the birth of the United States as a nation. Ever since the Declaration of Independence was instituted, American leaders have worked overtime to ensure that the citizens of the US enjoy their freedoms and rights. In fact, United States falls under the category of one of the freest nations in the world, in consideration of the huge population and vast ethnic and racial ties in the nation. The United States has also tried to offer a helping hand to nations that have traded their freedoms for the promise of security and liberty, or unlimited freedom and have achieved neither of the two promises. However, the biggest fear that lies in the American citizens and leaders is how the nation can effectively manage security, civil liberties, and social order. In this paper, the discussion revolves around problems that the United States and other nations face dealing with liberty and social order. Liberty refers to the state of an individual being free and not conforming to the oppressive restrictions placed by the authorities that seek to demand one s behavior, their way of life, and political views. In simpler terms, liberty refers to the power an individual has to act as they please. The issue I will be raising is one that might not be familiar to all who reside in California and that is primarily focused around the fragmentation and overall mutilation of areas that keep and protect the species Rana Draytonii, otherwise known as the California Red legged Frog. One of the reasons I raise this issue, is because most importantly these frogs were named the official state amphibian of California via AB 2364 (Patrick McGreevy.). An even greater reason to discuss this dilemma is because they are limited in their size around the Southernmost California residences, whereas they had previously occupied approximately 70% of its former habitat according to environmentalists (Campbell.). My goal is to highlight their ecological value to the state and how the California red legged frog s value is more significant than the fragmentation and intrusion taking place. These red legged frogs are currently listed as endangered, but they are vulnerable to human intrusion by means of erecting buildings, projects for road construction, introduction of a non native species along with habitat fragmentation in areas near where they might usually reside such as near the south Mendocino County and along southern California with populations extending to the Santa Rosa Plateau (Hammerson, Geoffrey). Rejection of Existentialism Essays In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its essence precedes its existence. (Sartre) Sartre rejects this idea when it comes to mankind and declares that humans in themselves have no nature and define themselves after coming into existence. This stems from his atheistic worldview, in which the rejection of a higher power leads him to accept the fact that humans are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent. From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries. While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular ... Even though they are not validly appointed, the s4 of the Act can as well consider certain persons to be directors, but only if the contrary intention appears. Some historical events that are mentioned in American Colonies by Alan Taylor that are dramatized by the film include the relationship between the Jesuits and the Indians and the love story. While, to an extent, the relationship between the two parties had many moments of accuracy, the film also made it seem like no matter what the Jesuit priest always was only looking out for the Indian people in order to convert them. The film ignores the side of the relationship where the French Jesuits primarily colonize the Indians, which ultimately leads to the death of thousands of Indians. Also, the love story between Daniel and Annuka who is the daughter of Chomina, who is accompanying the French on their mission, was dramatized. John Scopes Research Paper Alex Poppe Mrs. Lilley English III 14 April 2016 The Effect of the Scopes Trial on Education The 1920s was a decade of significant importance in the world of science. Reaction order determines the concentration of each reactant and can be used to calculate the amount of a substance in a reaction. • 38. Beer Is The Alcoholic Beverage Of Choice Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks and has played a role in human history for roughly 8,000 years. Beer is the alcoholic beverage of choice in North America and many other parts around the world. It has shaped the culture of human civilization, social interaction and has had a significant contribution to our economy. In order to get a proper perspective on beer you have to look at three main periods; ancient history (the development period), modernization of beer and its effects, and what role beer plays today and where it is going. Archaeologists have uncovered ancient Babylonian beer recipes engrave on clay tablets as early as 3500 B.C. This early beer was very crude and many people today would probably not consider drinking it today as it had bread chunks and had the consistency similar to porridge. To drink this ancient beer people would consume it using straws to filter out sediment and large chunks. Once Beer started to become more popular and commercialized, the first set of laws regulating it were set in place by the Babylonians. Paragraph 108 in the Code of Hammurabi stated and if anyone were caught selling beer for cash instead of corn in order to cheat their customers, they would be drowned as a punishment. The law also put restrictions on ordinary women from drinking beer with the exception of priestesses who could consume it freely. These laws date back to 1754 BC and since this date, beer has been regulated by society. Beer, during the Babylonian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Sandy Hook Theory Robbie Parker, accused of being a crisis actor, also broke down on camera while speaking at a press conference. Also, Gene Rosen cried on camera while explaining his story (Stuart). The theorists can make many claims, but they do not all hold true. To continue with Crisis Actors, theorists point out family s reactions to their children s death that day. Emilie Parker, one of the twenty children killed at Sandy Hook, has people questioning if she actually passed away that day. Theorists say that her father, Robbie Parker, is seen getting into character before a press conference, which leads them to believe that he is an actor or playing the role of a grieving father (Hallowell). Before he got up to speak at the conference, he was supposedly laughing and smiling. Soon after he looked like he took a moment to compose himself and then let emotion over take himself. In a hoax video, when the clip is played of Robbie Parker doing this a line runs along the bottom of the video and reads, How many parents are laughing and joking a day after their first child has been shot? (Hallowell). The Theorists also brought Barack Obama into one of their lies. In pre shooting photograph, Emilie is pictured wearing a flowered red and black dress. After the Sandy Hook shooting there is a picture of Emilie and Barack Obama taken during Obama s visit with the families of Sandy Hook. In the picture with Obama the girl is wearing the same dress. It has been suggested that the girl in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within 7 days of of announcement of demonetization, Paytm has witnessed over 7 million transactions worth Rs 120 crore a day. DISADVANTAGES The biggest disadvantage of demonetization is the chaos among public since everybody wants to get rid of demonetized notes. Removing the old currency from the economy and printing new ones enough to replace the old ones is an expensive process, to be funded by the government. If the benefit derived by demonetization is not enough to put off this cost, it will end up giving negative results. Another problem is that majority of times this move is targeted towards black money but if people have not kept cash as their black money and rotated or used that money in other asset classes like real estate, gold and so on then there is no guarantee that demonetization will help in catching corrupt people. Despite the efforts taken, black money is already back in the economy in the form of new currencies. It takes no survey to remove repressions.¨. Even though there may not be any downfalls to giving people their basic civil rights, some are forced to fight for them. The American dream consists of these civil rights, and persons without them, cannot achieve this dream. The myth of the American dream for some members of our society is apparent during the American Gay Rights Movement, especially with certain people such as Harry Hay, Sylvia Rivera, and Harvey Milk, as well as during important events like homosexuality being listed as a mental illness, the Stonewall Uprising, and the vote on Proposition 8 in California.
