Execution At Temple Drive By Bam Alegre
It seems to me it can happen to anyone. It can happen to me....Worse, all it takes is for the suspects to
put a cardboard in [sic] your corpse accusing you of crimes that you can t defend yourself from...
Summary Execution at Temple Drive by Bam Alegre
Philippines, September 2016 Five months after the new administration launched its polarizing war
against drugs, various groups have raised serious concerns about the frequency and impunity of
extrajudicial killings in the country.
Even the death counts do not agree, with estimates ranging from one and a half to over three thousand
dead through the war, less than half of these due to vigilante killings or unknown assailants. The
legitimacy and protocol of police operations have been put into question due to the seeming excess in
number of operations escalating to shootouts or the alleged violations of human rights in the
apprehension of drug suspects.
Definitely, the proliferation of drug production and distribution in the Philippines poses severe
problems on the country s economy and sociopolitical stability. As a form of illicit trade, drug
trafficking is able to undermine state authority and the rule of law by fuelling corruption,
compromising elections, and hurting the legitimate economy.
However, given the current crisis of human rights violations amid the relentless thrust for the drug
war, what sentence would we expect to fall on drug suspects and are there ways in which the drug war
could instead be steered

Collision Avoidance System Essay
Every year millions of people get in vehicular accidents that cause expensive repairs and sometimes
trauma for the drivers. While collision avoidance systems are very advanced and well developed, most
systems are too expensive for the average consumer. Our team s general mission is to reduce the
likelihood of car crashes by improving an aspect in the car that either keeps the driver more engaged
while driving or assisting the driver in various tasks such as stopping and lane changes. Along with the
general mission, our team has defined further parameters of our product in an attempt to narrow our
ideas down. We decided the product should be modular, third party, and affordable for the common
driver. We also wanted our product to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cars with built in systems are not without their faults. Other than their limited availability and high
cost, it is also rare to find a car that has all the features of collision avoidance systems available. Often
times car manufacturers will only offer the warning systems without the features that can actually
control a car independent of a driver. Also these systems do not guarantee that the vehicle will not get
into a crash even when the car can control its speed and tire position. Another problem is that the
system is directly integrated into the pieces of the car such as the bumper, mirrors, etc. which makes
repairs extremely expensive. When looking at potential demographics for our product, we found a
phone survey conducted Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, we found that 83% of parents would
not be willing to buy their child a brand new car. With that many parents buying used cars, a lot of
those teens will not have the luxurious access to built in car safety. To visualize how large the
difference is, here is a simple pie chart on the topic: Another factor that led us to focus on teen drivers
was a study in 2014, also conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that stated that
48% of teenagers who died in a driving accident died in a car that was at least 11 years old. Seeing this
statistic made us realize that we wanted to develop a product that could be attached to cars that are not
only 11 years

Symbolism And Allegory In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Young Goodman Brown addresses the Puritan belief that human
existence is premised in a state of depravity in the exclusion of those born in a state of grace.
Hawthorne focuses on the exposure of the hypocrisy that is prevalent in the Puritan culture. He
focuses on diverse literary devices in narrating the story of Young Goodman Brown s journey into self
scrutiny which results into the loss of belief and virtue. Further, Hawthorne demonstrates the essence
of symbolism and allegory in writing.
Hawthorne s story commences by unleashing a young couple that is three months old and prevalent
between Goodman and Faith. Faith is resistant towards letting Goodman go who in return promises to
return after embarking in the said errand which must be undertaken in the night. Hawthorne
demonstrates symbolism and allegory by portraying the pink ribbons that Faith uses to wish Goodman
well. Hawthorne states that, with the pink ribbons, gazing anxiously forth, and bursting with joy at the
sight of her husband (71). The pink ribbons represent Faith s innocence and sincerity. Further, these
pink ribbons represent the prevalent difference between reality and appearance for young Goodman.
This demonstrates the marriage opposites that are prevalent between Goodman and ... Show more

In this story, Faith is more of a symbol than a character as is portrayed in the manner in which
Goodman talks about her. For example, Goodman asks his counterpart, Is that any reason why I
should quit my dear Faith and go after her? Therefore, Faith can be inferred to represent Goodman s
beliefs and perceptions of his Christian faith. Faith also enables Goodman to resist all the evil people
he meets in the woods that are trying to lead him away from her. However, upon his return,
Hawthorne demonstrates Goodman as one who is not comforted by Faith as a result of the things he

Gus Van Sant s Elephant
Van Sant s film represents the reality of high school, focusing on the look of its beauty, characters,
while also ignoring the basic grime inherent on most campuses. Van Sant takes pride in portraying a
valuable image. What s in the room really touches you if it is closely examined. The hallways and the
fields of the school are in pristine condition, staying abnormally clean, almost too clean for a school.
Despite this seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the
sharply focused characters the camera constantly follows. This really takes the focus away from the
bare walls and empty hallways and places it directly on the students. The film isn t about the location
that it occurred, but more about the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film,
both figuratively and literally. The camera appears to look like it s never stop moving. It does halt for
brief pauses that seem to relax the viewer. There is some frustration upon watching because you can t
collect all the data you need to deconstruct the film. However the scenes do go go back and forth with
each other sometimes. At one point you may notice that you re following a student and it will cut into
the perspective of another student whom will pass by the student that was originally being followed.
This sort of filming can cause confusion but employs a nice twist to the film. The plot doesn t post the
events in chronological order. When a

White Noise By Don Delillo Essay
Don DeLillo throughout White Noise confirms through his characters that the individual is capable of
expressing feelings instantaneously, but for the most part are calculated in their actions, and give off a
façade. With the vast use of characters, from Jack Gladney to the nun, we can take a closer look at the
individuals in the world filled with white noise. There is truly the possibility for human kind to be
honest down to the bone, for instance what Gladney expresses love for his children, even the
stepchildren. Although this possibility is true, people still talk and do things against their emotions, or
preference. People take on facades, and take part in the things they don t believe in order to find an
identity of their own. This identity crisis is enhanced by societal factors, and the influence of media
with technology. Thus mankind in White Noise is incapable of expressing their true selves, without
conflicting with their external image. It boils down to this, the emotions of the individuals are very
much true, but are not surfaced, rather they hide behind an image that is displayed to keep the people
around them content. Once the image is erased, or no longer relevant, then the character becomes
insignificant. Thus all that exists for the society of White Noise is what we are incredulous of, that
becomes their reality. Commencing the analysis of this we can start with Jack Gladney the college
professor, that specializes in Hitler studies. Jack is the perfect

Canadian Aviation History
Canada Takes Flight A balloon was the first means of manned flight in 1840 at Saint John, New
Brunswick. National and international politics, the national ambitions of Canada, technology, and
economics all played substantial factors in Canada s aviation industry from that time on. In 1909,
following the accomplishments of the Wright brothers, the test flights of Bell s Silver Dart put aviation
experiments in motion throughout Canada. The benefit of the use of military aircraft during war times
were a direct result of the development of Canada s experimental phase, and many Canadians were
members of the British Royal Flying Corps throughout World War 1. Transportational Aircraft After
the war came to an end, aircraft became a necessary means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Because of a lack of interest among Canadian politicians, there was not a substantial effort towards the
purchase of aircraft, construction of airfields or establishing funds for flight training. With only three
members, The Canadian Aviation Corps was created by Sir Sam Hughes in 1914. However, they never
flew a single combat mission and their only aircraft had been abandoned after only a couple of
months. Development of Technology The increase of technological advancement due to the second
world war took the Canadian industry into the vanguard of manufacturing aircraft. The growth of
commercial aviation combined with Canadian facilities and airspace provided the training for over one
hundred thousand Commonwealth airmen. During the second world war, the British Commonwealth
Air Training Program in Canada was responsible for training more than 130,000 aircrew members.

Vitro Fertilisation ( Ivf )
The topic of in Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) has become one of the most controversial treatments assisting
infertile couples. This question was formulated from the research found regarding the biological,
financial and ethical factors clearly highlighted in the articles Ovarian Cancers caused by IVF (Natural
News) and In Vitro Fertilisation Today (American Express). The research indicates that IVF has
become much more common and it is important to understand if the beneficial factors prevail over the
problems linked with IVF. This report is written to argue that IVF is not a justifiable method in
assisting infertile couples. Dictionary.com defines a biological issue as anything that changes any
natural process. This report will investigate specific biological issues that are linked with this
treatment including, the hormonal effects on females, risk to the child and success rate of IVF. Social
issues are moral problems that affect a member or members of a society directly or indirectly. IVF is
associated with many social issues, the most prominent one being funding priorities. Another issue
that is considered the most fundamental philosophical issue raised by IVF is the moral status of the
embryo, which will be discussed in this report.
IVF or the test tube baby technique is a form of sexual reproduction that involves the removal of the
female eggs from a woman s ovaries merged with a male s sperm in a laboratory culture dish. There
are five steps associated with IVF but

attention on the demands of customers to supply exactly what they need and require; therefore, this
technique significantly reduce needlessly waste of the project. Likewise, PDSA is mentioned in the
continuous improvement of the project life cycle with the following definitions of each factor: Plan:
Adjustments or innovations in consideration of achieving the project improvement. Do: Execution of

What are required to eliminate? Act: Acceptances or declines of changes. Owner participation in LIB.
The responsibility of owners unquestionably affects the project performance and objectives,

Essay on Meaningful Symbols in the Rye by J.D Salinger
Catcher in the Rye , by J.D Salinger, is about a boy named Holden Caulfield. He thinks the adult
world is a bunch of phonies. The novel contains many key symbols that help develop the novel, and to
help show Holden Caulfield s point of view on the way he sees the world. Three of these key symbols
include: Holden Caulfield s red hunting hat, the ducks in the Central Park lagoon, and The Museum of
Natural History. One of the most important and recognizable symbols in the novel is Holden Caulfield
s red hunting hat. It symbolizes his uniqueness. The way he wears the hat gives off an impression that
he wants to be very different from everyone around him. He swung the old peak way around to the
back. This may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ducks left the pond. This symbolizes exactly where Holden is in his life right now. He left his
childhood, and is now a part of the adult world. He desperately wishes that he was like the fish in the
pond. He wish he can just stay there, and be an innocent child forever. Finally, another key symbol in
the novel is The Museum of Natural History. It symbolizes a perfect and pristine world that Holden
desires to live in. Holden enjoys museums because they are unchanging. In a museum, everything is
so peaceful and simple, an ideal place to live for Holden Caulfield. One of his biggest fears and
challenges is change. For example, this is the reason why he is so scared and terrified to call Jane
Gallagher, a girl who he finds very attractive and is one of the few people that Holden actually
admires. He is afraid that if he calls her, she would be a changed person, and that is the last thing he
wants...change. This symbol shows the main purpose of the novel, too. Holden is so afraid of
surrendering to the life of an adult that he has such a difficult time figuring out reality. However,
sometimes he shows his change into maturity by getting drunk and lusting for sex.The Museum of
Natural History represents innocence and purity in the novel. Like the museum, Holden does not want
to change. He wants to be just like the displays in the museum: pristine and permanent. He believes
that everything should just stay the way they are. Holden wants to

Interest Groups In Elections
Interest groups have a lot of influence over decision that the government makes and has made. These
groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are trying to push
that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other levels of government
to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the congressional level as well as for
President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the form of PAC s and Super PAC s to
back candidates. Super PAC s can spend an unrestricted amount money to support a certain problems
or candidate but cannot donate directly to the campaigns. PAC s work with campaigns directly
reallocating donations to candidates and parties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One is putting money towards the campaigns of Congressmen and women that either support their
shared ideals. This is not the buying of votes though as it is seen to the public eye that would be a
waste of funds to go about trying to pass policy that way. Hall and Waymen argue that interest groups
and PAC money that is used to back certain candidate in election is not to buy votes but to mobilize
the legislative process. Simply put, interest group resources are intended to accomplish something
different from, and more than, influencing elections or buying votes...we argue that PAC money
should be allocated in order to mobilize legislative support and demobilization opposition, particularly
at the most important point in the legislative process. That is only one way that they influence
congress. Public support is another. If an interest group can gather enough public support behind their
issues they can effect change in government policy. For example the NAACP in its fight for civil
rights. Interest groups work with the government to push policy. Without the government some
interest groups would exist because of the government grants that they receive. Other groups can be
led by an organization, single person or by

Marxism And Atheism Essay
16. Atheism best describes Marxist Leninist theology.
17. Karl Marx viewed humanity as God. Fod was created by tour image and religion was created to
worship ourselves. Marx believed that humanity as a role in history should change all social
institutions and re establish them on atheistic foundations. So he was determined to bring that change.
18. Religion, said Marx, is the sigh of oppressed creature, the sentiment of a heartless world, as it is
the spirit of spiritless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
19. Dostoevsky said the problem with Communism is not economic, but atheistic.

26. Theological view of classical Postmodernism is atheism.
27. Since Derrida and Foucault claim that there is no universal reality or objective, both try to avoid
making such absolute theological statements.
28. Deconstruct: altered by the reader and becomes captive to the reader s whims.
People bring in their own ideas and views to read and interpret the text. They will later get different
understandings of the text.
29. Although most early Postmodernists were atheists, the denial of truth has been the promotion of
religious pluralism. Religious pluralism is the belief that one must be tolerant of all religious beliefs
because no single religion can claim to possess universal truth. Many of those found in the present
Postmodern culture deny religious truth, instead give religious claims to preferences.

Essay on The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental...
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has a number of features. First of
all, every disorder is identified using a name and a numerical code. In addition, the manual provides
the criteria for diagnosing each disorder as well as establishes subtypes of a disorder and examples
that would illustrate the disorder. The manual goes further by addressing the typical age of onset,
culturally related information, gender related information, prevalence of a disorder, typical clinical
course of a disorder, typical predisposing factors of a disorder and genetic family patterns of a disease
(Summers, 2009). The DSM IV is a tool that is used by mental health practitioners and social service
workers. As has been demonstrated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personality disorders have a sex prevalence rate and there has been some suggestion that those rates
reflect gender bias. The bias concerns derived from the conceptualization of personality disorders, the
wording of diagnostic criteria, the application of diagnostic criteria, thresholds for diagnosis, clinical
presentation, researching sampling, the self awareness and openness of patients and the items included
within self report inventories (Butcher, 2009, p. 356). Studies have failed to prove that there is
significant gender bias in the DSM. However, research has showed there is gender bias within clinical
judgments. For example, gender related items would be included within self report inventories
(Butcher, 2009). Clinicians tend to judge female patients as being mentally ill more readily than male
patients, even when the symptoms are the same. Moreover, women are more likely to be cast as overly
emotional, have a need for mood altering medication and require ongoing monitoring/treatment (Zur
and Nordmarken, 2010).
Sexual orientation has also caused considerable bias. Homosexuality was listed in the DSM as a
mental disorder up until 1974. Even law had identified homosexual behavior as criminal; for instance,
sodomy laws. Although homosexuality is no longer listed in the DSM, therapists still have the option
of considering homosexual behavior as a sexual disorder not otherwise specified. The ability to still

How Can Help Change Our Perspective On Life
Gifts come in all ways, shapes and forms. Sometimes you don t even recognize that something or
someone has been giving you a gift, you only know that it makes you feel happy. Happiness in itself is
a gift that many different objects, people or places can give to someone. There are many different
things that give me happiness within one day, that is for certain. But there are irreplaceable continuous
gifts that live with us every single day, our animals. Whether you have a dog, cat, horse, fish, ferret
(the list goes on) everyone has felt some sort of happiness or thankfulness for their animals. Not only
do animals give back to us every day, but we also give back to the animals which can help change our
perspective on life and become a little bit more selfless. This new creature solely relies on you to feed
it, nurture it, shelter it, and love it for the rest of its life. That alone can change someone to be more
selfless and responsible because they have to make sure that their animal comes first in all that they do
so that it is as happy as possible. Knowing that you have to take care of this animal can make you
more compassionate too, it could open up a soft spot you may not have had before, especially if it was
your first animal. This is your gift to the animal, giving it the best life you possibly can. Animals can
help people become more responsible because they have something else they have to stay clean for,
clean up after, and take care of. We become more

What Is The Theme Of The Green Mile
Stephen King and his story, the green mile
Stephen King is a world known author who writes horror/psychological fiction. As a boy, he was
interested in horror books. He wrote some stories himself, just for fun, and he never stopped. In 1996
he published the green mile, (a movie was made later on).
The story is about the John Coffey and his execution in E block at Cold Mountain State Penitentiary.
Hal Moores is the warden of the penitentiary, his wife is very sick. Paul Edgecomb is the head of E
block and a friend of Moores. E block is where they keep the death row prisoners and perform capital
punishment. One day Paul receives a prisoner who supposedly raped and killed two young farm girls.

and murdered a young girl, started a fire to cover it up, which resulted in multiple deaths. Before

John Coffey was convicted of the rape and murder of two tiny farm girls. He is as big as a giant, but
he isn t scary. Unexpectedly the man is scared of the dark and holds magical powers. He makes many
friends on E block, they are fascinated by his magic and kindness. John gave some of his magic to
Paul and Mr. Jingles causing them both to live an unnaturally long life. At his execution Paul shook
his hand one last time.
The first and most noticeable difference between the movie and book is how the story is told. At the
nursing home Paul has a friend, Elaine. In the movie he tells her what happened because it upset him.
While in the book he writes the story and lets her read it. The book often comes back to the elderly
Paul and sees how he s doing, in the movie we only see him in the beginning and the end.
For some reason the directors of the movie decided to leave out Janet s death. I think that part was
very important and it helped us understand what Paul has to go through with his long life

The Mining Industry in South Australia
Mining industry has been the anchor of South Australia s economy and, benefits it has provided
outweigh whichever associated costs. As developed by the South Australian State Government (2013),
realising the benefits of the mining boom for all is one of the seven strategic priorities to secure the
state s future. Mining is an important industry in South Australia because it has been a major source of
minerals for the high demand in Australia and many countries (Flinders Ranges Research n.d.). This
industry plays a vital part in advantaging the state in terms of economic profits and job opportunities;

In addition, planned mine expansion projects will contribute to expanding the population size in
remote areas. For evidence extracted from iMINCO (2013), the Adelaide Hills area will benefit from
the economic advantage in Adelaide by means of future construction and permanent mining jobs, as
there is potential for hundreds of new highly paid households in the mining industry.
On the other hand, mining industry has industrialised suburban areas by way of polluting the
countryside. It has been confirmed by Kelly (2013) that greenhouse gas emissions is a major impact
from massive coal mining developments and coal seam gas. Nevertheless, environmental concerns
and actions have been taken sand mining terminated its operation at Whiskey Swamp over five years
ago; ODT Australis Company undertook to rehabilitate the site by demolishing constructions and
reseeding the land according to Australian Mining (2013). Moreover, South Australia gained 20 per
cent of jobs growth in regional areas which produce coal due to actions on cutting pollution as
mentioned by the Australian Conversation Foundation (2010).
Furthermore, South Australia s mining industry also provides cultural advantages to the state; it
removes the gender and cultural barriers in the working culture today. For instance, an effective
indigenous employment program is run at Thiess and OZ mining sites, which accepts applicants from

Illegal Immigrants Should Not Be Trafficked
However, this topic has been very controversial since some Thai authorities do not acknowledge these
Burmese individuals as victims , rather they acknowledge them as individuals who have been illegally
smuggled into Thailand (Gjerdingen 699). This is one of the strongest arguments that Thailand has
over not having a responsibility over those being trafficked into their country, because these people
actually choose to be trafficked rather than by coercion. Trafficked victims are given assistance not
because they choose to be trafficked, but because they were coerced into the system which violates
their rights as free people. There is some truth to this statement, because some individuals are lured
into being trafficked because of their current country s poor economic situation (Gjerdingen 718). If a
person moves to another country willingly and under illegal circumstances then they are no longer
considered as trafficked victims but as illegal immigrants. Therefore they cannot claim the status of
refugee and receive protection and rights. This is the only circumstance in which Thailand would not
have responsibility over the victims, but it is very difficult to distinguish one from the other, that
Thailand might not be able to use this argument as often as it would like. Despite this controversy, it
depicts that under the Morality of State Theory there is possibility that states might have an obligation
to protect victims of human trafficking, if they are given the status as

In this day and age, people have already learned the value of being prepared for any emergency that
may come our way. Most homes have prepared a Grab n Go binder (a binder that contains all your
important documents) or a 72 hour kit for utilization during catastrophes and emergencies. However,
majority of households do not consider the need to build a Zombie Apocalypse survival kit simply
because they do not believe in the likelihood of this event unfolding. You should consider that when
the zombies starts coming, it will take a longer time to rebuild this planet than if any other calamity
occurs. Hence, you should be more prepared for this possibility. In the event of a zombie apocalypse,
the first thing that you will need to do is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each member of your family should get in shape in order to outrun the zombies. You can also begin to
start talking about game plans in various situations that may come up and you can also talk about
different moral and ethical issues that you may be confronted with during the zombie apocalypse like
what you are going to do if one of you gets bitten and similar situations. It can also be helpful to
improve the structure of your home because a zombie will find it harder to enter your home when you
have a sturdy door. You can also start packing a portable emergency kit that is enough for each
member of your team. If you already have an emergency kit on hand, you are one step closer to
completing your Zombie Apocalypse Kit. A good zombie apocalypse kit must contain non perishable
food or even MRE s, important documents, first aid kit, light household weapons, and a container that
allows you to store them all in one place when you need to vacate the area. Your supplies will be
limited and it is very important to find ways to be self sufficient when you start running out of things.
Make sure that you have all the essentials on hand because you can t just go to the grocery or supplies
and buy yourself supplies from the zombie cashier. You should also remember to personalize your kit
because the needs of each individual are different. It is also as important to have a backup plan for

Paper On Rockets History
History of Rockets
A rocket is a cylindrical projectile that can be propelled to a great height or distance by the
combustion of its contents. Robert Hutchings Goddard, was the first to create a liquid fueled rocket in
1926. Robert was about 44 years old when he invented the first liquid fueled rocket. Roberts rocket
reached an altitude of 41 feet at about 60 mph and lasted about 2 seconds. The rocket landed
approximately 184 feet away from the blast off place. The rocket was about 10 feet tall, made out of
thin pipes; it was fueled by liquid oxygen and gasoline. Chinese were the first to create rockets for
military in the 13th Century. They made the rockets out of gunpowder; probably built firework rockets

research, weather reporting, communications, navigation and even for observing Earth. Engineers
have played a big role in designing these satellites, getting them into orbit, and using the information
they relay back to Earth. Meteorologists are able to predict the changes in weather patterns by using
several different tools. They use these tools to measure atmospheric conditions that occurred in the
past and present, and they apply this information to create educated guesses about the future weather.
Most people are familiar with thermometers, barometers, and anemometers for measuring
temperature, air pressure, and wind speed, respectively. Meteorologists use other tools, as well. With
communication, we can relate back to satellites, satellites get sent up into orbit and programed to

Autism Is A Growing Epidemic
An epidemic affects many people at the same time, and spreads from person to person in a locality
where the disease is not permanently prevalent. Because the autism diagnosis charts are raising every
year, autism is considered a growing epidemic in the United States.
For many years humanity has pondered the origin of autism. Autism originated from the greek word
autos, meaning self . Many say that individuals with autism think to themselves, or is in their own
world . This describes an autistic person s actions, implicating that the individual is detached from
civil communication. Autism was not given its label until the early 1900 s. Around 11 years later, a

Another so called treatment for autism was lysergic acid diethylamide, otherwise know as LSD. LSD

is odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Doctors thought that LSD would treat autism because of its
psychotomimetic effects.
A decade later, researchers found that therapies would be the most beneficial to autistic patients. The
most common, however, was the behavioral therapy. This focused on helping change unwanted
behavior. It is also called cognitive behavioral therapy or behavioral modification. Doctors and
therapists use this type of therapy to replace bad habits with good ones. The therapy also helps you
cope with difficult situations.
In todays society, the most useful cure for autism is behavioral therapy and language therapy. As I
noted above, behavioral therapy helps replace bad habits. Language therapy helps the patient speak
and understand how to communicate with others.
There are many symptoms in which an autistic person has. The first, and most common, is the
inability to comfortably speak to other human beings. Everyday, you have a conversation effortlessly

Impact Of Insurance On The Health Insurance Market
Impact of employer provided health insurance on the health insurance market
Introduction
Health insurance has been a topic of discussion lately due to its impact on the nation s health status.
Recently, President Obama passed the health insurance reform so as to facilitate the accessibility of
health to the majority of the US citizens including the uninsured. In the US most of the organizations
both private and public have provided a medical cover for their employees and this paper will discuss
the impact of this provision on the economy based on the population health, the impact on both private
and public healthcare spending and finally the paper will focus on the impact of employer health
insurance on the future generation.
Economic impact on population health
Employer provided health insurance is an important tool for the economic growth of the country as
well as the promotion of the general public well being. First this form of insurance provides
psychological and physical well being of the employees health (Kim 19). When an employee is
provided with a health care cover they reduce the worries of what will happen if they fall sick and this
facilitate to being at peace which in turn increases the productivity of the workers. When the employer
provides a medical cover the employee is sure that he will receive quality treatment whenever he is
sick, also in case the employee falls sick he will receive health care services as provided in his cover
which will, in turn, lead

The 1937 Constitution
Introduction
I propose to discuss in this paper the evolution of the 1922 Constitution followed by 1937
Constitution. I will briefly outline the political structure that was present at the time of the enactment
of both constitutions. This essay will then outline the main areas of difference between the 1922 and
1937 Constitutions and highlight the major influence that Eamon De Valera had on the creation of
Bunreacht Na hEireann. I believe the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937
Constitution were the religious beliefs, the powers of State and the fundamental rights.
Political background
On Easter Monday, 24th April 1916 the Easter Rising broke out. This was a Rebellion of the Irish
Nationalist against the rule of Great Britain. This rebellion marked the beginning of Ireland gaining
their Independence. Another attempt to gaining Independence of Ireland took place in 1919 when the
IRA fought the British Army in the war of independence which lasted over 2 and a half years and ...

A difference in both the constitutions is the replacement of the Governor General by The President of
Ireland. This shows the elimination of British influence in Irish politics. Another major change was
that the Prime Minister is now known as the Taoiseach and that the government of Ireland takes on the
role formerly known as the executive council of the Irish Free State. From a fundamental right
prospective the 1937 Constitution is deemed to be superior to any other source of law and regards to
making laws there is very little difference between both the 1937 and 1922

A Perfectionist in Nathanial Hawthorne s The Birthmark
People are obsessed with making everything perfect. Nathanial Hawthorne seemed to think that the
imperfections created by God should not be fixed by the will of man. In The Birthmark , he conveys
this view through symbolism, imagery, and characterization. Symbolism is scattered throughout the
work. The most obvious is the shape that the birthmark is in: a hand. It is meant to represent the hand
that God has in every formation of beauty, imperfections included. Because of this connection to God,
it is supposed to be accepted and seen as beautiful. However, Aylmer cannot see the beauty
underneath. There are also the speaking of the freckles and the ability of the solution to be washed
away as easily as the hands are cleansed (221). Old folklore says that freckles are Angel s kisses and
something that is supposed to make a person unique and more beautiful. Aylmer, once again, only sees
the imperfection, rather than the beauty. The Elixir of Immortality represents man s thought they can
control life spans and to, essentially, play God by choosing who lives and dies (221). Hawthorne uses
imagery to juxtapose the beauty of some imperfections to the coldness of the analytical fixing of the
imperfections. One of the most memorable images from the story is when Georgiana is captured in a
photo, but only the birthmark comes out clear, while the rest of her beauty is blurred. In anger and
disgust, Aylmer throws the entire thing away. However, Hawthorne used this image to

Rouhani ran with the promise of strengthening civil society, improving Iran s foreign relations, and

United Kingdom, Russia, France, China and the European Union to limit Iran s nuclear ability in
exchange for lifts of financial and international sanctions (TheNewYorkTimes).
Rouhani believed that the nuclear deal would improve the Iranian economy, by reopening it to foreign

economic promises Rouhani said the nuclear deal would bring, as well as those he had made in his
campaign for the presidency in 2013, were not completely fulfilled come 2017. Rouhani s failure to

Romania s Struggle With Communism
To the world outside, the masked country of Romania, although rarely viewed in media, was known as
a picturesque country filled with many profitable resources such as its fertile land, petroleum, and
mineral deposits, however, behind the Iron Curtain, lay a more secretive nation, deprived of its rights,
ignored by its leaders, and suffering under the taxing regime of Communism. Before Communism was
administered, Romania had a trivial communist party which was often overlooked in politics. At the

In its claims to make Romanian children receive the finest education in the world, Communist leaders,
including Stefan Voitec, the Minister of Education, limited the access of education and narrowed
educational rights in order to indoctrinate Communist values and instill a sense of faithfulness to
Communism in the Romanian youth. Throughout the years 1947 to 1989, although the regime was not
embraced, communistic beliefs were integrated into the educational system forcefully, and all
resistance towards the reforms were squandered (Phillips 7). In order to encourage and inflict their
values upon students, special privileges were given to Communist children, trained professors in
universities and secondary schools were purged and replaced with pro Communist politicians and
intellectuals, and university acceptance was based off of political alliances rather than pre university
scores, ensuring that educational advances would only be provided to Communist learners. The

individuals must receive despite their religious, ethnic, or political disagreements, however, when

Racism Without Racists By Eduardo Bonilla Slave
As an international student from China, I did not experience serious discrimination as black people
did; I did not feel strong oppression as LGBT group did; however, I was indeed treated in a different
way, which was racist and discriminated. When I read the materials from class, I felt I had experienced
the exactly same thing in my life. Segregation, which was written by Eduardo Bonilla Slave in his
book: Racism without Racists, still happened today in my life; marginalization and powerlessness,
which were proposed by Iris Young in her book: Five Faces of Oppression, were common problem for
all Chinese nonimmigrants. Nonimmigrants were not equal to illegal residents. Nonimmigrants meant
those who held Visas while studying or working in the U.S. Nonimmigrants had the chances to apply
for United States Permanent Resident Cards and then applied for United States citizenships to become
Chinese Americans. However, they never get the chanced to be real Americans and enjoy the same
rights as Americans did. To change this situation, Chinese nonimmigrants must get more political
rights and more voice in the government, which was hard but a goal for every Chinese nonimmigrants

economic and technological development. United State Census Bureau documented that Chinese

Plain Capitalism Vs Democratic Capitalism
Capitalism is an omnipresent system that has taken on many unique and defined forms throughout its
existence. While capitalism comes in a variety of disguises, one thing about capitalism has always
remained the same the nature of its selfish being. Capitalism thrives on hard work. Individuals that
work hard will undoubtedly be rewarded. On the contrary, those that are not able to work are left in a
dreadful predicament. Even with two distinct versions of capitalism plain capitalism and democratic
capitalism both involve the necessary component of free enterprise. Capitalism considers free
enterprise something to be achieved individually with rewards intended for just oneself. Adam Smith
came along and challenged that notation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To further illustrate this concept, I will share with you my time working in an undisclosed animal park
compared to my time working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a hospital. The animal park was
innovative and practically screamed free enterprise. There were rules, regulations, and an ethical code
of conduct all necessary components for democratic capitalism. However, higher ups were not elected
they were appointment by the owner. Likewise in the hospital setting, supervisors were also appointed
from upper management. Something unique about working in the hospital, however, was that there
were elected members of a resident government needed for democratic capitalism. Following Adam
Smith s theory, the hospital I worked for had many incentives in place. At the hospital, I could
accumulate paid time off and earn additional bonuses for picking up unscheduled shifts. As Smith
would have predicted, I undoubtedly worked harder at the hospital because the only incentive to work
at the animal park was for my check and nothing additional. At the hospital, I felt more involved with
my work. Although one might argue against healthcare and its intentions, I worked hard because I

Intoux Pearl Advertising
Advertisements are important to get the brand s name known, so they can sell products and make
money. It is important for a company s name to be out there so they can sell things because if people
do not know about their brand then they probably would not buy it. Advertisements are used to
convince people that their product is worth spending money on. The advertisement I will be exploring

company feels not enough people are buying this brand of tampons due to the many other brands that

the Devil should take no part in music. 2. The Devil intervenes within the scenes of light and purity by
shouting his threats. By using such extreme differences in vocal technique, the essential message of
the morality play is shown here. C. The conclusion of Ordo Virtutum consists of a period of praise and

Importance Of The Colosseum
The functions religious or otherwise, of the colosseum were irrelevant to the ultimate design of the
architecture.
Once the colosseum had been built it seems to have become the model for many, if not most, of those
that followed (Hopkins and Beard 2005, 24). The Colosseum stands proudly upon the villainous
Emperor Nero s once grand Valley of the Golden House, projecting the munificence of Imperial
Roman Architecture of the Flavian period. Its ultimate design could be said to be formed through
purpose or function. However, this does not do justice to the importance of architecture within Roman
society (Thornton and Thornton in Lyes 1999, 2). The functions whether it be religious or otherwise,
of the Colosseum were irrelevant to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The diameter of the entire Colosseum was thus reduced and convention disregarded to take into
consideration this architectural feature. Looking in detail at the classical orders themselves which
made up the levels of the façade and the 80 grand entrances of the Colosseum it would appear to not
be revolutionary. However, if you engage with the architecture closer it reveals further Roman
architectural ingenuity and the importance of the structures appearance.
Traditionally Roman buildings saw the use of the classical Greek Doric order on ground levels
(without bases) with the more decorative orders of Ionic and Corinthian stacked above this (Lyes
1999, 6). However, in the Colosseum these orders were stacked and used in a way which had no
previous precedent in Roman architecture (Lyes 1999, 6). The design sees the orders dramatically
reduced, which has the columns that are engaged within the structure constructed with bases, and the
column shaft themselves missing the usual entasis of classic Greek orders, this all leads to a much
simplified capital. Between each stacked order there is a triple facia architrave, a relatively plain
designed freeze and cornice (Lyes 1999, 6). The use of the classical orders in this manner within the
design of the Colosseum, without precedent, was in fact not structural but a façade or veneer. This
allowed the

Concrete Is Durable
A concrete patio should last as long as your house. A wood deck will gradually decompose over time.
Plus, wood is subject to rotting, insect damage, and splintering. It s nearly impossible to damage
concrete. You can drag furniture across it, and even set a fire pit right on it. It s the ideal surface if you

Hayden discusses the role of blood relations and biology in relation to the kinship theory throughout

How do they share the responsibility between the two? How do gender identities impact the role as a
mother? And how do lesbian mothers who did not birth the child have satisfaction. Although lesbian
motherhood is the focus of the ethnography; Lesbians that are not yet mothers and single lesbians also

Force systematically excluded the subjective data of consciousness and much information bearing on
the complexity of the human personality and its development. The Second Force emerged out of
Freudian psychoanalysis and the depth psychologies of Alfred Adler, Erik Erikson, Erich Fromm,
Karen Horney, Carl Jung, Melanie Klein, Otto Rank, Harry Stack Sullivan and others. These theorists

Host City Economy
For the host city to be determined it has to be appealing to tourist, sponsors and spectators. That is
besides being a franchise city of the NFL (Depken Wilson, 2003).
The NFL, local governments and various associations of hotels and restaurants normally predict the
economic impact that the hosting will have on the city (Depken Wilson, 2003). This mainly takes into
account the expenditure that the city is likely to incur while determining the real benefits that it will
get. For instance the police and fire departments are paid for the overtime hours that they work to
ensure safety and security is maintained. The spending is done according to the projected impact and
the extent to which the prevailing economy can allow. Tampa Bay had to scale back spending on the
Super Bowl due to the state of the current state of the economy. ... Show more content on

Economists generally estimate that super bowl always has had an impact of between $300 $400
million on the host city s economy (Coates Humphreys, 2002) There are direct and indirect impacts
that come with the event, which can also be long term and short term as well (Christopher Peters,
2006). In simple layman terms, the sum total comprise of the economic impact of the Super Bowl on
the host city (Polzer, 2003). The direct impacts come form the spending by the various participants
while indirect impacts are the multiplier effect the is felt way after the event is done. The money that
was spent locally is re spent again leading to additional rounds of spending (Wenner, 2005). Indirect
impacts also include rise in local residents incomes due to the activities associated with the game as

Jacob Van Loon
This is The Wilderness Explosions in the Sky by Jacob van Loon
I particularly like this art piece because it is complex, contrasting, and portrays certain moods and
images.
To start, this painting was made by drawing many overlapping straight lines, and painting over it with
a lacquer, then he repeated this step several more times. He then filled each shape with blue or orange
watercolor paint. You can see where the paint leaks out in some places, this provides a balanced ratio
of geometric and abstract shapes. The blending also softens the contrast between the two colors.
I ve concluded that the painting makes me think of an apocalypse now scenario. Its looks similar to an
office building with the sky reflecting off glass panes.

Mobile Phones And Mobile Technology
In a remarkably short period of time, Cell phones and mobile technology have become omnipresent in
the day to day life in Bangladesh. People around the country are using their cell phones for a variety
of purposes, especially for calling, texting and taking pictures as well as social awareness raising,
literacy training and skill development. The rapid expansion of mobile phone network has been
accompanied by a growing emphasis on providing more cellular based services and promoting
efficiency and financial sustainability. The recent addition to the list is the mobile banking service.
Literature Review
Mobile technologies are changing economic life in rural areas of Bangladesh, where many people are
using cell phones for a range of financial transactions, such as receiving and sending money transfers.
Indeed, mobile banking is already being used by banks and mobile network operators to provide
millions of unbanked consumers in rural areas as a way to store and access money digitally. The
limited information available suggests that mobile banking is helping these people by providing access
to financial services and the ability to pay and be paid electronically sometimes for the first time in
their lives. Mobile banking allow unbanked people to use their phones as a bank account: to deposit,
withdraw and transfer money with their handset. People can also use mobile systems to pay utility
bills and pay for goods in merchant shops.
Like other developing countries, Bangladesh is

The Ultimate Dilemma During Car Shopping
The ultimate dilemma during car shopping: should I buy a new car or a used car? There are endless
variables when considering either option, however I am going to restrict this analysis to two factors:
the value and finance of new cars. I will conclude with an informed decision regarding the decision
whether to buy new over used, based on the data. New cars are known to depreciate once it leaves the
lot, meaning cars lose their value over time due to normal use and wear and tear. In fact, new vehicles
lose 20% of its value within the first year of ownership (Stefanac, 2014). To put that in perspective, a
$24,000, 2018 Hyundai Sonata will be valued at $19,200 just after the first year. Each subsequent year
the value drops until around year five, when the decrease is less significant (still depreciates through
its lifetime). A new car loses about 60% of its value within the first five years (Edmunds, 2010).
Looking at the 2018 Hyundai Sonata, it will only be worth approximately $9,600. If someone chose to
buy this vehicle used, it would be wise to purchase after the five year period so they are not hit by the
significant depreciation drop. It is also important to note that different vehicle s depreciation will drop
at different speeds for various reasons, for the purpose of this paper, we are looking at the average of
all vehicles. There are many factors that contribute to depreciation. Normal wear and tear are minor
imperfections that can be repaired or recovered in a

A Report On Ficer Corps
GySgt Daniel Daly once said, Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to
know your stuff. I d rather be an outstanding sergeant that just another officer. Imagining and Marine
Corps without any NCOs is to imagine a Marine Corps that doesn t exist. There would be no boot
camp because there would be no drill instructors. There would be no outstanding specialists to
transform into warrant officers; aircraft, weapons and trucks would rust and break down never to be
repaired and finally and most importantly there would be no accountability. Noncommissioned
officers are as old as war itself. In the seventh century the smallest tactical unit in the Roman legion
was commanded by a centurion who is akin to a gunnery sergeant. The condottieri, or mercenaries, we
professionals who served under any state that would pay and feed them; in their companies the ranks
of corporal and sergeant were born. In 1778, Baron von Steuben wrote the main purpose of the
noncommissioned officer corps is to decentralize command authority in an orderly fashion down to
the smallest element in an organization. In other words, NCOs exist to teach Marines, execute orders,
take care of people and cushion the contact with officers. On becoming an NCO we receive a
certificate of appointment; often referred to as a warrant. This document is the basis of our authority,
rank, status and responsibilities and the words on it sum up the reasons why the Marine Corps

  • 2. Execution At Temple Drive By Bam Alegre It seems to me it can happen to anyone. It can happen to me....Worse, all it takes is for the suspects to put a cardboard in [sic] your corpse accusing you of crimes that you can t defend yourself from... Summary Execution at Temple Drive by Bam Alegre Philippines, September 2016 Five months after the new administration launched its polarizing war against drugs, various groups have raised serious concerns about the frequency and impunity of extrajudicial killings in the country. Even the death counts do not agree, with estimates ranging from one and a half to over three thousand dead through the war, less than half of these due to vigilante killings or unknown assailants. The legitimacy and protocol of police operations have been put into question due to the seeming excess in number of operations escalating to shootouts or the alleged violations of human rights in the apprehension of drug suspects. Definitely, the proliferation of drug production and distribution in the Philippines poses severe problems on the country s economy and sociopolitical stability. As a form of illicit trade, drug trafficking is able to undermine state authority and the rule of law by fuelling corruption, compromising elections, and hurting the legitimate economy. While collision avoidance systems are very advanced and well developed, most systems are too expensive for the average consumer. Our team s general mission is to reduce the likelihood of car crashes by improving an aspect in the car that either keeps the driver more engaged while driving or assisting the driver in various tasks such as stopping and lane changes. Along with the general mission, our team has defined further parameters of our product in an attempt to narrow our ideas down. Cars with built in systems are not without their faults. Other than their limited availability and high cost, it is also rare to find a car that has all the features of collision avoidance systems available. Often times car manufacturers will only offer the warning systems without the features that can actually control a car independent of a driver. Also these systems do not guarantee that the vehicle will not get into a crash even when the car can control its speed and tire position. Another problem is that the system is directly integrated into the pieces of the car such as the bumper, mirrors, etc. which makes repairs extremely expensive. When looking at potential demographics for our product, we found a phone survey conducted Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, we found that 83% of parents would not be willing to buy their child a brand new car. With that many parents buying used cars, a lot of those teens will not have the luxurious access to built in car safety. To visualize how large the difference is, here is a simple pie chart on the topic: Another factor that led us to focus on teen drivers was a study in 2014, also conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that stated that 48% of teenagers who died in a driving accident died in a car that was at least 11 years old. Symbolism And Allegory In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Young Goodman Brown addresses the Puritan belief that human existence is premised in a state of depravity in the exclusion of those born in a state of grace. Hawthorne focuses on the exposure of the hypocrisy that is prevalent in the Puritan culture. He focuses on diverse literary devices in narrating the story of Young Goodman Brown s journey into self scrutiny which results into the loss of belief and virtue. Further, Hawthorne demonstrates the essence of symbolism and allegory in writing. Hawthorne s story commences by unleashing a young couple that is three months old and prevalent between Goodman and Faith. Faith is resistant towards letting Goodman go who in return promises to return after embarking in the said errand which must be undertaken in the night. Hawthorne demonstrates symbolism and allegory by portraying the pink ribbons that Faith uses to wish Goodman well. Hawthorne states that, with the pink ribbons, gazing anxiously forth, and bursting with joy at the sight of her husband (71). The pink ribbons represent Faith s innocence and sincerity. Van Sant takes pride in portraying a valuable image. What s in the room really touches you if it is closely examined. The hallways and the fields of the school are in pristine condition, staying abnormally clean, almost too clean for a school. Despite this seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the sharply focused characters the camera constantly follows. This really takes the focus away from the bare walls and empty hallways and places it directly on the students. The film isn t about the location that it occurred, but more about the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both figuratively and literally. The camera appears to look like it s never stop moving. It does halt for brief pauses that seem to relax the viewer. There is some frustration upon watching because you can t collect all the data you need to deconstruct the film. However the scenes do go go back and forth with each other sometimes. At one point you may notice that you re following a student and it will cut into the perspective of another student whom will pass by the student that was originally being followed. This sort of filming can cause confusion but employs a nice twist to the film. The plot doesn t post the events in chronological order. When a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

White Noise By Don Delillo Essay Don DeLillo throughout White Noise confirms through his characters that the individual is capable of expressing feelings instantaneously, but for the most part are calculated in their actions, and give off a façade. With the vast use of characters, from Jack Gladney to the nun, we can take a closer look at the individuals in the world filled with white noise. There is truly the possibility for human kind to be honest down to the bone, for instance what Gladney expresses love for his children, even the stepchildren. Although this possibility is true, people still talk and do things against their emotions, or preference. People take on facades, and take part in the things they don t believe in order to find an identity of their own. This identity crisis is enhanced by societal factors, and the influence of media with technology. Thus mankind in White Noise is incapable of expressing their true selves, without conflicting with their external image. It boils down to this, the emotions of the individuals are very much true, but are not surfaced, rather they hide behind an image that is displayed to keep the people around them content. Once the image is erased, or no longer relevant, then the character becomes insignificant. Thus all that exists for the society of White Noise is what we are incredulous of, that becomes their reality. The bias concerns derived from the conceptualization of personality disorders, the wording of diagnostic criteria, the application of diagnostic criteria, thresholds for diagnosis, clinical presentation, researching sampling, the self awareness and openness of patients and the items included within self report inventories (Butcher, 2009, p. 356). Studies have failed to prove that there is significant gender bias in the DSM. However, research has showed there is gender bias within clinical judgments. For example, gender related items would be included within self report inventories (Butcher, 2009). Clinicians tend to judge female patients as being mentally ill more readily than male patients, even when the symptoms are the same. Moreover, women are more likely to be cast as overly emotional, have a need for mood altering medication and require ongoing monitoring/treatment (Zur and Nordmarken, 2010). Sexual orientation has also caused considerable bias. Homosexuality was listed in the DSM as a mental disorder up until 1974. Illegal Immigrants Should Not Be Trafficked However, this topic has been very controversial since some Thai authorities do not acknowledge these Burmese individuals as victims , rather they acknowledge them as individuals who have been illegally smuggled into Thailand (Gjerdingen 699). This is one of the strongest arguments that Thailand has over not having a responsibility over those being trafficked into their country, because these people actually choose to be trafficked rather than by coercion. Trafficked victims are given assistance not because they choose to be trafficked, but because they were coerced into the system which violates their rights as free people. There is some truth to this statement, because some individuals are lured into being trafficked because of their current country s poor economic situation (Gjerdingen 718). If a person moves to another country willingly and under illegal circumstances then they are no longer considered as trafficked victims but as illegal immigrants. Therefore they cannot claim the status of refugee and receive protection and rights. This is the only circumstance in which Thailand would not have responsibility over the victims, but it is very difficult to distinguish one from the other, that Thailand might not be able to use this argument as often as it would like. I will briefly outline the political structure that was present at the time of the enactment of both constitutions. This essay will then outline the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937 Constitutions and highlight the major influence that Eamon De Valera had on the creation of Bunreacht Na hEireann. I believe the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937 Constitution were the religious beliefs, the powers of State and the fundamental rights. Political background On Easter Monday, 24th April 1916 the Easter Rising broke out. This was a Rebellion of the Irish Nationalist against the rule of Great Britain. • 27. A Perfectionist in Nathanial Hawthorne s The Birthmark People are obsessed with making everything perfect. Nathanial Hawthorne seemed to think that the imperfections created by God should not be fixed by the will of man. In The Birthmark , he conveys this view through symbolism, imagery, and characterization. Symbolism is scattered throughout the work. The most obvious is the shape that the birthmark is in: a hand. It is meant to represent the hand that God has in every formation of beauty, imperfections included. Because of this connection to God, it is supposed to be accepted and seen as beautiful. However, Aylmer cannot see the beauty underneath. There are also the speaking of the freckles and the ability of the solution to be washed away as easily as the hands are cleansed (221). Old folklore says that freckles are Angel s kisses and something that is supposed to make a person unique and more beautiful. Aylmer, once again, only sees the imperfection, rather than the beauty. The Elixir of Immortality represents man s thought they can control life spans and to, essentially, play God by choosing who lives and dies (221). Hawthorne uses imagery to juxtapose the beauty of some imperfections to the coldness of the analytical fixing of the imperfections. One of the most memorable images from the story is when Georgiana is captured in a photo, but only the birthmark comes out clear, while the rest of her beauty is blurred. In anger and disgust, Aylmer throws the entire thing away. However, Hawthorne used this image to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Colosseum stands proudly upon the villainous Emperor Nero s once grand Valley of the Golden House, projecting the munificence of Imperial Roman Architecture of the Flavian period. Its ultimate design could be said to be formed through purpose or function. The diameter of the entire Colosseum was thus reduced and convention disregarded to take into consideration this architectural feature. Looking in detail at the classical orders themselves which made up the levels of the façade and the 80 grand entrances of the Colosseum it would appear to not be revolutionary. However, if you engage with the architecture closer it reveals further Roman architectural ingenuity and the importance of the structures appearance. Traditionally Roman buildings saw the use of the classical Greek Doric order on ground levels (without bases) with the more decorative orders of Ionic and Corinthian stacked above this (Lyes 1999, 6). However, in the Colosseum these orders were stacked and used in a way which had no previous precedent in Roman architecture (Lyes 1999, 6). The design sees the orders dramatically reduced, which has the columns that are engaged within the structure constructed with bases, and the column shaft themselves missing the usual entasis of classic Greek orders, this all leads to a much simplified capital. Between each stacked order there is a triple facia architrave, a relatively plain designed freeze and cornice (Lyes 1999, 6). To start, this painting was made by drawing many overlapping straight lines, and painting over it with a lacquer, then he repeated this step several more times. He then filled each shape with blue or orange watercolor paint. You can see where the paint leaks out in some places, this provides a balanced ratio of geometric and abstract shapes. The blending also softens the contrast between the two colors. I ve concluded that the painting makes me think of an apocalypse now scenario. Its looks similar to an office building with the sky reflecting off glass panes. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Mobile Phones And Mobile Technology In a remarkably short period of time, Cell phones and mobile technology have become omnipresent in the day to day life in Bangladesh. People around the country are using their cell phones for a variety of purposes, especially for calling, texting and taking pictures as well as social awareness raising, literacy training and skill development. The rapid expansion of mobile phone network has been accompanied by a growing emphasis on providing more cellular based services and promoting efficiency and financial sustainability. The recent addition to the list is the mobile banking service. Literature Review Mobile technologies are changing economic life in rural areas of Bangladesh, where many people are using cell phones for a range of financial transactions, such as receiving and sending money transfers. Indeed, mobile banking is already being used by banks and mobile network operators to provide millions of unbanked consumers in rural areas as a way to store and access money digitally. The limited information available suggests that mobile banking is helping these people by providing access to financial services and the ability to pay and be paid electronically sometimes for the first time in their lives. Mobile banking allow unbanked people to use their phones as a bank account: to deposit, withdraw and transfer money with their handset. • 45. The Ultimate Dilemma During Car Shopping The ultimate dilemma during car shopping: should I buy a new car or a used car? There are endless variables when considering either option, however I am going to restrict this analysis to two factors: the value and finance of new cars. I will conclude with an informed decision regarding the decision whether to buy new over used, based on the data. New cars are known to depreciate once it leaves the lot, meaning cars lose their value over time due to normal use and wear and tear. In fact, new vehicles lose 20% of its value within the first year of ownership (Stefanac, 2014). To put that in perspective, a $24,000, 2018 Hyundai Sonata will be valued at $19,200 just after the first year. Each subsequent year the value drops until around year five, when the decrease is less significant (still depreciates through its lifetime). A new car loses about 60% of its value within the first five years (Edmunds, 2010). Looking at the 2018 Hyundai Sonata, it will only be worth approximately $9,600. If someone chose to buy this vehicle used, it would be wise to purchase after the five year period so they are not hit by the significant depreciation drop. It is also important to note that different vehicle s depreciation will drop at different speeds for various reasons, for the purpose of this paper, we are looking at the average of all vehicles. There are many factors that contribute to depreciation. Normal wear and tear are minor imperfections that can be repaired or recovered in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. A Report On Ficer Corps GySgt Daniel Daly once said, Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to know your stuff. I d rather be an outstanding sergeant that just another officer. Imagining and Marine Corps without any NCOs is to imagine a Marine Corps that doesn t exist. There would be no boot camp because there would be no drill instructors. There would be no outstanding specialists to transform into warrant officers; aircraft, weapons and trucks would rust and break down never to be repaired and finally and most importantly there would be no accountability. Noncommissioned officers are as old as war itself. In the seventh century the smallest tactical unit in the Roman legion was commanded by a centurion who is akin to a gunnery sergeant. The condottieri, or mercenaries, we professionals who served under any state that would pay and feed them; in their companies the ranks of corporal and sergeant were born. In 1778, Baron von Steuben wrote the main purpose of the noncommissioned officer corps is to decentralize command authority in an orderly fashion down to the smallest element in an organization. In other words, NCOs exist to teach Marines, execute orders, take care of people and cushion the contact with officers. On becoming an NCO we receive a certificate of appointment; often referred to as a warrant. This document is the basis of our authority, rank, status and responsibilities and the words on it sum up the reasons why the Marine Corps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
