Does Islam Need Reformation Or Do Islamic Societies Need...
While lacking any academic credentials, these islamophobic figures, in their scorched earth view of
Islam, wage a campaign that reduces an entire scripture of 114 chapters and over 6,000 verses to a
few de contextualized verses, and their criticism of Islam as grossly simplistic and desperate
attempt to malign a world religion and a human civilization comparable to others. For a religion,
unlike Christianity and Judaism, that didn t experience Renaissance, the Reformation and the

The Legal Establishment Of Two Individuals Creating Vows
The legal establishment of two individuals creating vows to commit to each other defines what
marriage is, it may just be more than just the paperwork and the ceremonies; but two people
having a mindset and a lifestyle with another person in their interest. It could be affection, or it
could be expectation like it was centuries ago. Either way, a relationship between a man and a
woman creating vows and committing to each other begin and end with specific expectations, a
lifestyle change, and somebodies perfect image of that special someone. Today, being married
means a lot to live up too; loyalty, dependability, cooperation, and a joined effort especially within
the household. Lifestyles may change whether it s the man or the wifeand it can depend on who has
the money, the job, and the ability to survive. Meaning one or the other have to be willing to live
differently for their special someone. Also most of the time, usually by the man, a person is
imagined in their heads the perfect person who they are married too.. First, a marriagebegins with
expectations especially in the 20th through the 21st century. Like the movies describe, woman stays
home raising the kids, making dinner, making sure the house is clean, and taking care of her
husbandwhile he works and earns the money to survive and keep the household running. These
expectations can be hard to live up too when it s not in someone s favor, which can cause a
problem. In Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour, Mrs.

Storyteller By Sandra Cisneros
In the essay, The Storyteller, Sandra Cisneros describes different aspects that happened
throughout her life. For example, she talks about family traditions, her independence, how her
father didn t agree with her decision to become a writer. Cisneros also describes about how
passionate she is about her writing and how she was a teacher. Her father wanted her to be a
weather girl on television or get married and have babies. Even with all the criticism of her
father Cisneros still managed to live her life as she wanted. Cisneros also emphasizes how
important it was for her to have her own space and privacy. Cisneros didn t let anyone make
choices you don t want to do, always do what you want to make yourself happy and not anyone

How long are your intestines?
Have you ever thought about your intestines? How long are your intestines? What are their

Essay on Consumer Protection
Consumer Protection In this guide I will clarify many issues concerning consumer protection, the
first issue I would like to clarify is what consumer protection is all about.
Consumer protection is about protecting ordinary people who buy goods and services, from the
being sold faulty goods or poor quality services from dodgy traders.
Any person has some basic legal rights if a product or service is found to have a false description,
is of poor quality or not fit for its purpose.
There are five main consumer protection laws which serve to protect these rights, they are:

Sellers In Black Hawk Down
The 2002 film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, tells a heart wrenching true story of
the 160 United States solders who risked their lives to capture major war lords who controlled the
city of Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia in east Africa in 1993. The solders found themselves
in an unexpected position after things do not go as planned. In this essay, I argue that when faced
with life or death, loyalty and duty to man and country along with the pursuit for a better life, man
would rather die than watch the innocent suffer.

Chivalry Vs Chivalry
Chivalry it is a word everyone has heard at least once in their lifetime. The word is no longer
used to describe brave knights who fought for the love of their loyal ladies. Over hundreds of
years and many lifestyle changes, chivalry has shifted and morphed into something new to fit the
current generation. Chivalry changed over the ages from lifestyle and technology developments, as
well as comparing the Medieval version of chivalry to the more modern aspect of it that we have
now.
One of the most important things to be addressed is the definition of a few keywords: chivalry and
knight. Chivalry, is defined as the Medieval knightly system with a religious, moral and, social
code. Knights had a very strict code to obey known as The Code of Chivalry. A knight is somebody
who served someone of a higher power, usually a lord, king, or queen. They were trained from a
young age and served in a military capacity, usually on horseback or on foot.
Most of the sources used were books, simply because there were few valuable websites to use.
One of the books, titled Knight by Robert Jones had a fair amount of important information. There
s also a youtube video thrown in as well. Many sources who had similar information, but each had a
different perspective.
Before the comparison battle can begin, we must learn of the now ancient background of the
knightly system and how it came to be. The biggest contributor and kick start of knighthood was
Duke William of Normandy. After the

Middle Passage Thesis
Imagine waking up in a near pitch black room, overwhelmed by the smell of death and despair,
chained to a board squished in with hundreds of others. As strange as it might seem, at one point
that was a reality for some and the suffering they would have to endure hadn t even begun to begin.
These people were victims of the Atlantic Slave tradeand were on their way to the Americas to be
bought and sold and forced to work. Exploited and abused these people would go on to become a
huge part of what made the United States and our history. The Middle Passage as it is called was
a huge part in shaping the history of the Americas. In the time of European Colonization the want

One of these reasons is that there are people whose ancestors were forced to suffer and endure
great hardships without any form of compensation. While on the other hand there are people
who believe since what happened was hundreds of years ago and nobody alive today was
responsible, enslaved, or owned any slaves that it s futile to give reparations to people who
never suffered. Either way the lasting effect of the Atlantic Slave Trade is still visible today not
in a physical sense but in a cultural sense from the beginning of the slave trade all the way to the
American Civil War in which over 600,000 people died for a cause that under which included
keeping the institution of slavery or whether to end slavery for good. As such it is important for
us to teach about what happened during this span of time as so these mistakes are never
repeated and it is understood the pain and suffering that was forced on those who were
wrongfully enslaved. Over the course of the Atlantic Slave Trade it has been estimated that 100
million people were forced to live in slavery, in which it was inevitable that something of this
scale would only end in a violent and bloody conflict and it was just that that brought about a
bloody and violent end to slavery. Be it that slavery is not over worldwide it is here in western
democracies that a valuable lesson was learned, that lesson being that we are all

The Summary of and Response to “the Trouble with Talent”...
The Summary of and Response to The Trouble with Talent by Kathy Seal
In The Trouble with Talent , Kathy Seal, who frequently writes about children and education in
magazines, wrote about the way of education in the U.S. which only focused on the value of
inborn aptitude could breed children to become artful people and waste many of American
children s potential. At the beginning of this article, Seal told about an experiment of Jim Stigler,
who was a UCLA psychologist, which tested the persistence of Japanese and American children by
solving the math problem. While the American kids solved the problem for a short time and
quickly gave up, the Japanese kids still kept on their work. Stigler stated that Asian education

Indeed, from this article we recognize that the children will gain success when everybody
encourages their effort and shouldn t emphasize inborn talent. Effort counts more than innate ability.
After reading Seal s article which stated that Americans often thought kids are born smart while
Asians more often believed that studying makes a person smarter, I was reminded my own
personal beliefs on intelligence and I realized that I have thought people could get smart by
exerting effort since I was in the last year of elementary school in Vietnam. Therefore, I empathized
with Seal s attitude that success and achievement are a result of working hard. I could remember
that I got this attitude when I was in an important final exam which decided where my middle
school was in the next year that depended on my score. In this exam, the math test was an extremely
difficult test for every student because it had a strange math problem which my classmates and
I had never studied before. At first, I had spent for 2 hour to solve this problem, but I didn t
succeed. So, I wanted to give up. However, I was worry about my score and thought about my
mom, who hoped that I could get the high score enough to enter a famous middle school. Since I
didn t want to disappoint my mom s wish, I tried to solve this math problem again and again and

How Do Polar Bears Affect The Environment
This week, a viral picture of a sickly polar bear is causing debate all over the world about climate
change. Although the issue is not strongly affecting humans just yet, it is influencing wildlife all
over the globe. Polar bears, in particular, have been the focus of concern for various organizations
that are making it their mission to protect the endangered species. Now more than ever, it seems the
polar bearreally needs humans to reconsider the choices being made about the environment.

When asked about the viral picture, he commented that the reports about thin or dead adult bears
in the Barents Sea region are sadly consistent with what is expected with the warming Arctic. The
region has the highest loss of sea eyes, as the summer ice free period is now twenty weeks longer
than it was in 1979, when records were first documented.
He adds that polar bears aren t the only animals that have altered their usual routines. Walruses
have been seen gathering in Northwest Alaska, bowhead whales are moving between Alaska and
Greenland and killer whales are migrating to the Arctic earlier than expected. Moreover, beluga
whales have been shifting their wintering areas to Greenland, all due to the loss of ice mass.
Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Most of these animals need sea ice to give birth, feed or rest. Shifting to land in order to
accomplish theses tasks tremendously affects the biology of many the polar bear specifically, as
noted by Walter Vetter and his team of scientists at the University of Hohenheim. The polar bears
are becoming so thin that their fat reserves have shifted completely in order to concentrate on
nourishing the brain, kidneys and liver. In light of the situation, scientists all over the world are
urgently calling for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, urging us to think about these animals
and to help in any way that we

In The Bissula Analysis
In his pioneering work, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon
writes that the poetical fame of Ausonius condemns the taste of his age. Indeed, Ausonius s work
may seem uncomplicated on the surface: he borrows heavily from previous literature and uses
straightforward syntax. However, his work contains depth beyond its ostensible simplicity: it
blends genres and uses consistent themes as narrative foci to guide the reader. In two of his most
prominent poems, liquid (as water and drink) is the key interpretive control: In the Bissula, alcohol
provides wisdom that counters the confining seriousness of sobriety, while in the Moselle the river
provides calm comfort that contrasts with the hectic unnatural world. Throughout both poems,
Ausonius consistently uses liquid to contrast the serenity and clarity provided by water and drink
with the chaos of the dry world. In the Bissula, alcohol plays a key role as the interpretive control.
Ausonius addresses the reader directly, proclaiming that his poems are unserious. He writes that I
follow Thymele (4), classifying his work as relaxing entertainment more than serious literature.
Indeed, he requests that the reader drink before you read (6) in order to best understand the poem.
While alcohol is typically associated with confusion and dulled wit, Ausonius claims that the drunk
reader will get wise to me (8). With this subversion of expectations, Ausonius proclaims drink as a
tool to achieve

families who were in my way of becoming the king. My degrading nature also affected my
ambition, before I viewed attaining the power of becoming the King as an honor but due to my

Capitalism During The Great Depression
For example, when a good is scarce, the prices goes up, so consumers try to avoid buying and
therefore conserving the resource. Then, the suppliers want to find more of the source as to get
a better profit. The reasons behind their actions are selfish, yet they benefit all of society. Smith
identified that the pursuit of profit and the power of self interest would increase motivation and
result in more advances in technology. His model of capitalism was on the basis of freedom and
selfishness as a motivator for society. It was also on the basis that the economy would go
through recessions and expansions but fix itself. Recessions are periods in the economy in which
unemployment goes up, while profits and spending goes down; a slowdown of the economy. An
expansion is essentially the exact opposite. The classical model of economics states that the
economy will continue to go through these fluctuations over time and will fix itself with no help,
thus not needing a government to give influence. Eventually, however, The Great Depression
happened, and there was no end in sight of the dramatic recession. The Great Depression was a
widespread crash of the market that happened in 1929 and lasted well into the 1930 s. For a long
time, no one knew why it had happened or when it would be over. Often considered capitalism s
savior, John Maynard Keynes noticed the lengthy depression and realized that something was
causing it to be stuck. He thought that the economy was not going to pick

Arguement For Animal Cruelty
I am an animal person so I would make a law that would toughen the penalty against people who
commit animal cruelty. There are currently laws that prohibit animal cruelty, some of them being

even the worst of animal cruelty. My proposal would be that everyone would get punished based
on the crime. Most animal suffering is unrecognized. The punishment should be just like a person
would get punished if they committed the same crime against another person. I am also a nurse,
and have worked in a public health department where I saw a lot of parents that did not vaccinate

Who Was Nikola Tesla Is An American Inventor
Who do you think of when you hear the word genius? You most likely think of Albert Einstein,

However, I doubt Nikola Tesla comes to your mind. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian inventor in the
1880s, whose advances in electrical technology rivaled those of Thomas Edison. Tesla had one of
the greatest minds in recorded history, so why isn t he as well known as these other so called

was born to Djuka Mandic and Milutin Tesla on July 9th or 10th in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia (part
of the Austrian Empire at the time). Tesla s father was an Orthodox priest and a writer. As Tesla
grew up, his father tried to convince him to follow in his footsteps and join the priesthood. Tesla,
however, was uninterested in being like his father and instead found a love in science. This love
most likely came from his mother. Though she was illiterate and uneducated, she often made small

An Article On Fair Trade Coffee Essay
This article contains information comprised from analyzing the research of fair trade coffee. This
including studying four main authors and two other articles for background information. The
articles examined the effects fair trade and organic coffee production methods effected local
farmers. The authors focused on meeting with the local farmers and the supervisors of
cooperatives. The areas that were studied consist of countries within Central America and Mexico.
The articles addressed some of the concerns the farmers had in fair tradeproduction methods vs.
conventional. The authors explain both the benefits and the drawbacks of fair trade certification.
In one of the articles the research of Krasnozhon, Simpson, and Block (2015) took on a different
approach; as their focus was not solely on coffeenor did they personally interview any farmers.
Instead their work reviewed some of the processes and regulations in free vs. fair trade. Ultimately,
the authors collectively emphasize the view of fair trade should not be as a function to repair all
the issues, but that it is more like the proper foundation to build on.

Defendant Hankins filed a motion to correct an illegal sentence on appeal after pleading guilty to
felony charges because he argued a Kansas trial court wrongfully considered a deferred judgment
from Oklahoma in his sentencing calculation. The State argued that Kansas law required such
deferred judgments from other states to be included in sentencing determinations. The Supreme
Court of Kansas disagreed with the Court of Appeals dismissal of Hankins motion, finding that
there was a discrepancy between Kansas and Oklahoma s statutory standards for an entry of a

guilt. However, under Oklahoma law, an entry of judgment will not be entered for an offender who

1. Domain bacteria Single celled organisms, ( otherwise known as prokaryotic cells) that do not
have a membrane protecting the cell. Bacteria can be found almost everywhere in the world.
Domain eukarya All organisms grouped within the domain eukarya are also considered single
celled. Eukaryotic cells are specifically grouped by the things each organism lives off, or by the
things they eat individually.
Domain archaea Along with bacteria the domain archaea is a prokaryote cell meaning it consists of
one single cell. However archaeal organisms can be found in areas where the earth s most intense
natural resources are present. Areas including Yellowstone National park where there are many
geysers along with places including Hawaii.
2. Kingdom Protists these organisms solely do not depend on themselves to create food but on
other living things.
Kingdom plante this kingdom is made up of plants. Plants survive solely on photosynthesis. This
basic way of nutrition.
Kingdom fungi unlike the kingdom plante the members of the kingdom fungi, survive and live off
of what is found in the soil beneath us. Fungi are considered to be decomposes meaning they
decompose dead organisms which therefore becomes the food for their cells.
Kingdom Animalia Humans are considered to be classified under the kingdom Animalia. Humans
and many other animals eat other living organisms unlike the kingdom fungi. We survive on eating
other living things.

Comparing the Starts of Two Film Versions of Romeo and Juliet
Comparing the Starts of Two Film Versions of Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet is a timeless,
classical love story written by the unmatched author, William Shakespeare. Many of Shakespeare
s works are considered literary classics, but none are more loved, well known than Romeo and
Juliet. This play masterfully tells the love story of two teenagers in Verona, Italy. The title
characters, Romeo and Juliet, are members of two feuding families. Romeo is a Montague and
Juliet is a Capulet. There are different stylistic ways of portraying Romeo and Juliet, and the two
most popular film versions render two very different styles of the Shakespearean classic. Zeffirelli

Actress Claire Danes played Juliet. Claire Danes became popular while playing Angela on the
short lived television series My So Called Life , it now in reruns on MTV. Leonardo and Claire
were the perfect Romeo and Juliet in this brilliant production. Every director has his own vision
of how he sees the scenes of his production playing out. Zeffirelli and Luhrmann had different
interpretations of certain scenes of Romeo and Juliet. One such scene was the famous balcony
scene. Zeffirelli stuck to the classical interpretation, while Luhrmann did not. In Zeffirelli s
version Juliet was on the balcony outside her bedroom calling rhetorically, Romeo, Romeo where
fore art thou Romeo? Romeo appears and climbs up the balcony, and they share a couple of
small kisses before he departs. However, in Luhrmann s version of the play, things happen
differently. Juliet is walking by the pool when Romeo startles her and they both fall into the
pool. Their conversation then takes place in the pool. They share a several passionate kisses
between getting interrupted by a nosy security guard. Another significant scene that was portrayed
differently in the two films was the suicide scene Zeffirelli s version is once again almost exact
to what we read in the book. Romeo sees what he perceives to be a dead Juliet lying in her family s
tomb, and distraught by the sight he drinks poison. When

Anglo Saxon Culture In Beowulf
Throughout the epic poem of Beowulf by Seamus Heaney, there are many classic aspects of Anglo
Saxon culture that exemplify the pursuit of glory. The structure of Anglo Saxon culture bases
heavily on the idea of glory, consisting of glory towards their God, king, kin, and themselves. There
are several examples that show this, most notably including phrases from Beowulfand the journey
of the epic hero. The glory for God and the king are closely related in the book, The Almighty
Judge of good deeds and bad/ the Lord God, Head of the Heavens/ and High King of the World
(Heaney 180 188). God plays a big role in Beowulf s journey, giving his thanks for the several
victories he has achieved from his God given strength. Similarly, Beowulf s loyalty to his king
Hrothgar is valued somewhat equal to God, with Hrothgar gifting him weapons, armor, and eight
horses fitted with gold bridles after defeating Grendel (915 1152).... Show more content on

Comics Ethos Pathos Logos
Comics as Resource for ELT Educators
Comics, a medium used to express ideas via images and pictures, can be traced back to the cave
period when humans communicated ideas and thoughts using paintings and pictures. However, as
humans began to use words to communicate with one another, paintings and pictures as a mode of
communication took a backseat. They began to be used only for visual impact whenever needed. In
course of time, other than oral communication, written communication and print media were
considered effective means of communication. Various genre like novels, poems, short stories,
essays were all realized and accepted by scholars as resources to be used when educating children
and adults. Inspite of the many famous comics be it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

comic was written, the history behind that work etc.
Comics to Improve Learners Creativity and Innovation
Students may be given a comic sequence and they can be asked continue and go on to build their
own story. Students may come up with varied ideas, thoughts and conception. They can either be
asked to make comic strips or write an essay. This would help facilitators to improve learners
creative writing skills and also encourage students to be innovative and novel in their approach. The
visuals when displayed would definitely arouse laughter and this would make learning enjoyable
and effective.
Comics Expose Students to Society
Comics which are satirical in nature and criticize the ways of the world or the people may be sued
by the facilitator to expose students to the socio political realities of the times. They also help
students understand the times the comics depict and enable students to know the history of those
times. Some of these comics also caricature humans and reveal their follies and foibles. These make

How Did Joseph Priestley Discover Oxygen
Joseph Priestly was an English scientist who found out about oxygen. Joseph Priestly had thought
before that there was more than one type of air. He discovered eight gases of which one was
oxygen. The element of oxygen was discovered by him during his many experiments. He did this
by an experiment involving the isolation of oxygenand carbon dioxide. Joseph Priestly discovery
of oxygen was significant by revealing the process of photosynthesis. Joseph Priestly discovered
oxygen because of where he lived. He was next to a brewery where the alcohol smell was inhaled
by Priestly. The idea of the brewing process produced gasses that helped him in the discovery of
oxygen. He found how to make carbon dioxide into a soluble. Joseph found out that carbon
dioxide was heavier than other gases. From being able to produce carbon dioxide had led him
closer to the discovery of oxygen. With his last experiment of producing carbon dioxide he made
another experiment. Mercury helped Priestly discover oxygen because he put carbon dioxide into
mercury. He had experimented with the use of a twelve inch burning lens and heated mercuric
oxide that contained an atom of oxygen. When he heated the liquid he discovered oxygen was
emitted from the experiment. From this experiment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The land became rapidly exploited and cultivated to produce tobacco. After the establishment of
this cash crop, tobacco was glorified and largely advertised in both the colonies and England. As
well as its large cultivation of tobacco, its connection to what became known as the Chesapeake
Bay served as a prominent economic aspect to Virginia. By mid century, the establishment of
indentured servants had been regulated and used frequently by plantation owners. This being a
prominent factor to Virginia s social development, its downfall and rise of slavery also played a
prime role in social transformation. Bacon s Rebellion in 1676 was the first rebellion in the
colonies and it largely resulted in the hardening of racial lines with slavery. The plantation owners
and farmers now saw it as a dangerous asset to have white indentured servants as workers and also
saw having slaves as a much higher profit. By the establishment of the Virginia colony and its use
of producing the tobacco cash crop, boatloads of slaves were brought to work and profit the upper
class plantation owners. What became known as the Middle Passage became nothing more to the
white upper class than profit and population increase. At the end of the seventeenth century, it was
established that 40,000 people lived in Virginia however the number of slaves brought to the colony
was unknown. With the progression within the

Essay On The Movie Crash
In these three scenes from movie Crash, the filmmakers give the audience a better understanding of
the conflict among race, class, gender, and family. By using different editing techniques such as the
subjective point of view, different camera movements, and various camera angles, the filmmakers
explain and deepen the social issues of race, crime, and loss to the audience. The pacing of edits
varies among these three scenes. For the first scene, the length of shots is a lot shorter than the
other ones, which highlights the intensity of the scene. On the other hand, the last scene uses a
long length of shot to emphasize Jean s frustration and anger. The first scene of the clip begins
with an extreme close up hand held shot of a mirror and through the mirror, we see a car
approaching. It cuts to a close up shot of Farhad sitting in the car looking outside, which makes

The Avoidance Of Eating Cattle
Have you ever craved a nice juicy piece of steak, but had to settle for the dry asparagus? This is
what Hindu people who follow their cultural traditions have to deal with. The food practice that I
am discussing is the avoidance of eating cattle in Hinduism. I will specifically focus on moral
issues regarding killing and eating cattle in the religionas compared to other moral religious codes.
In Western society most cultures don t see a moral issue when eating beef. I know my family eats
beef at least twice a week so I was always surrounded by the meat product. The reason I chose to

Despite popular belief cattle are not worshipped in Hinduism, but rather held in high esteem. There
are a couple different historic reasons why Hindus don t eat cow. The first being that during the
development of the religion cattle were extremely expensive to slaughter as they produced a lot
of other food and work and were more valuable left alive. It was financially impractical for early
Hindus to eat cattle. Additionally, cattle were seen as the appropriate gift for Brahmins who
were the high priests of Hinduism at the time. It eventually came to be seen that killing some
cattle was almost equivalent to insulting a Brahmin in their culture, meaning that there was a
strong taboo against Lastly, the development and subsequent spread of Jainism in the region,
which expressively forbids harming any type of animal, may have influenced early Hindus not
to eat cattle. Many rural Hindu families own a dairy cow which greatly assists them in their way
of life. Due to the value of life placed on cattle in Hinduism there is a moral concern regarding
killing the animal. One that is not commonly held in Western religions in our lives today. The
cow is one of the greatest symbols for selfless giving by providing us milk, curds, ghee butter,
urine, and dong and these are all used in Hindu worship also. The fact that products that the cow
produces are so important not only to the Hindu way of life, but also to

Nonconformity and Its Effects
A nonconformist refers to a person who cannot abide by the established rules and values of society.
Because he has a different set of standards, he perceives the world in a unique manner and
consequently fails to accept the general population s point of view. He is the one who walks the
path most would be unwilling to take. One such individual is Meursault, the nonconforming
protagonist in Albert Camuss The Stranger. In this critically acclaimed novel, Camus carefully
develops Meursault s nonconformist character and explains how that personality causes a series of
events that ultimately ends in Meursault s death. Meursault s emotionless behaviors clearly reveal

According to the recommendations, I came in below the suggested amount for all three
categories. Carbohydrates are the body s primary source of energy. Without adequate
carbohydrates, a person may feel fatigued and weak, as the body looks elsewhere for sources of
energy. A severe lack of carbohydrates can deprive critical bodily organs the necessary energy to
properly function. Lipids are naturally occurring organic compounds that include fats and oils.
An excess of some lipids can increase the chances of certain health problems, lipids are vital
nutrients to a healthy body. Lipids are necessary for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins. A
diet too low on lipids lowers the level of good cholesterol, decreases the body s energy level and
can disturb the body s formation of cells and cell functions. During the three days of documented

According to Jon Scheumann a successful organizations need a culture that is attuned to cost

From that statement manager must pay attention and carefully thinking when do decision making

So when the firm done correctly to identify fixed and variable cost, it can do CVP analysis
correctly and manager can used the correct CVP analysis to make decision making.
2. In graph Cost are in straight line
Assume that fixed cost no change in any of range. Variable Cost is proportional and parallel to
the line revenue. So in the reality cost of behaviour not remain constant. It mean when we do
CVP analysis we must assume a straight line (constants) so when do a calculation it easy to
calculate the cost and make analysis. For example if we see in graph the cost is curve line it hard
to calculate the cost if the cost is out of range from the graph. So that why we must assume in
straight line so it easy to calculate and identify the cost even it out of range in graph.
3. Price is fixed for every volume was purchase/selling ( selling price/direct material)
When buy a lot of item, item we buy was offering/make a discount. These make a problem to
determine contribution margin ratio. Example normally when we buy/sell a lot of item we can
receive/give discount. Event we know that it hard to calculate when price always changes base on
the quantity item of we buy/sell. So in order to make easy calculation we must make assumption
fixed price every volume was purchase and selling and ignore the cost that give effect the change in
price and volume.

George The Sixth
King George the Sixth was born on December 14, 1895 in Norfolk, England. His real name was
Albert Fredrick Arthur George Saxe Coburg Gotha. He was the second born child child of King
George The Fifth and Victoria May. His mother was the Duchess of York. His parents raised him
very strictly. He was often sick or very ill and easily frightened, these are the traits he would
never lose even through adulthood. He also developed a stammer as a child which would
eventually affect his public speaking as an adult. His father was very harsh towards Albert. Albert
was naturally left handed as a child but the tutors his parents had for him forced him to use his
right hand.Albert lacked a close connection with his mother and father. He was also looked... Show

The King was very disgusted when he heard of the news that the South African government said
to only shake hands with the whites in Africa. The stress of this war was starting to take a toll
on George s health and well being. On the 12th of March the king was up for an operation to
remove a thrombosis on his right leg. A planned tour of Australia and New Zealand was
postponed due to the operation the king was having during this time. After the operation was
finished it threatened to have his right ler removed. With the news of this George s daughter
heiress presumptive took on a lot more royal duties. The originally delayed tour of Australia and
New Zealand was reorganized by Elizabeth and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh taking the
place of the king and queen. The king eventually healed up enough to open the Festival of Britain
but shortly after there was a tumor found in his right lung which ultimately ended up with him
having to get that lung removed. The lung was removed by Clement Thomas Price. In 1951 the
king s daughter and her husband took a trip to Canada. Which is where they stayed for a month,
but it was originally delayed again because of the king s health. At the state opening of parliament
the king s speech was read for him while he satin the throne because he couldn t read the speech
himself. It was read by Lord Simmons and then again in Christmas when the king usually
broadcasted a speech he had to do the speeches in

Reflection For My Personal Assignment
My theme for my second final piece follows on from my last theme of colour. This piece also
expresses personality through the use of colour, however, I moved away from using colour to
form the portraits and decided to make the background of my final piece to focus on colour and
pattern. I want to create a sense of how my personality is like just by the sight of my drawing
and background. Originally, my idea began with the thought of creating two different pieces.
The message I wanted to convey with this was to show the growth of my personality from then
till now. The first piece idea consisted of a portrait drawing of me as a young child while the
background the background would be either patterns or random painting techniques. The pattern
determined how my personality was like as a young child (for example, a structured background
with repeated pattern shows a confident and determined personality while random mark
makings reflect a creative or angry personality). I wanted this drawing to have smooth pencil
strokes to create a pure and soft look to represent my young age. For my second drawing of me
in my represent state, I wanted the pencil strokes (used to create the drawing) more rough such
as cross hatching strokes technique. The cross hatches will be a representation of me being
more confident in myself as well as how the idea of who I am has developed to this age.The
background for the first drawing applies to the second one also. During the process of my
research, I decided to focus on creating one final piece. The final piece would be my idea of
using drawing myself from a young age that I was and then doing a background pattern following
the design idea I previously mentioned. Throughout this second part of this project, I researched
on mark making drawing techniques from artists such as Rembrandt and Da Vinci. Rembrandt s
marks of his drawing overlap each other many times. Rembrandt focus on using his marks to create
form and tones, while Da Vinci s mark makings are more structured and technical due to his
engineering experience. Davinci s marks mainly arranged in a diagonal order. In addition to mark
making, I researched on drawing techniques used to drawing children with. From that

The Legend Of Camellia
Most stories have happy endings , well this one does but not in the way most people expect it to

magnificent buildings. Everybody in the city called her the Flower Girlbecause she was named after
the Camelliaflower. She met many people as they came to visit her great city , until one day the

Laser Hair Removal Research Paper
Over the past few decades there has been new developments in the Cosmetic industry. But, by
being so new to society how can we know about any risks about such new discoveries. One of the
recent developments, created in the last two decades, is the Laser Hair Removal Treatment. What
is this new development and how effective is it?
What is Laser Hair Removal? Laser hair removal is a Cosmetic procedure that uses laser beams to
remove unwanted hair from the body. This basic principle behind this program is selective
photothermolysis which, in Greek, creates the words light, heat and destruction that describes the
process of the surgery. The machine creates a highly intensified light that passes through the skin
and targets the melanin (pigmentation) which absorbs the energy, damages the papilla, then heat is
conducted outwards to destroy the germ cells that are on the hair shaft while leaving the
surrounding tissue somewhat undamaged. The perfect time to perform this treatment is when the
hair is going through its early anagen stage. This is when the hair is still connected to the papilla
when growing, eliminating 10 15% of the hair after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

any medical issues that may prevent the doctor from doing the treatment, everyone s skin is
different thus adjustments to the laser are needed. The doctor will evaluate the complexion and
the darkness of the melanin, then has to take safety precautions such as special glasses to protect
the eyes from the laser, and provide Epidermal cooling to reduce pain and side effects. Two
Epidermal cooling strategies are Cryogen spray that is directly sprayed before or after the laser
beams onto the skin and Forced Air Cooling on the skin at 34o c. There are five possible machines

The War Soviet Expansion Of The United States
Introduction In 1976, with the election of Georgia governor and Washington outsider Jimmy
Carter to the Presidency, the American people could expect that a change was going to come
and they were right. After years of military action attempting to stop Cold War Soviet expansion,
first in Vietnam under Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, followed by the quick and
possibly unnecessary bombing of Cambodia by President Ford in response to seizure of the U.S.
freighter Mayaguez (History.com, 2016), Americans were war weary. Thus they welcomed the
affable Southern peanut farmer who promised a foreign policy based on high moral principles
and regard for human rights. Indeed, Carter set the tone with the following statement, during the
first year of his (only) term: For too many years, we ve been willing to adopt the flawed and
erroneous principles and tactics of our adversaries, sometimes abandoning our own values for
theirs. We ve fought fire with fire, never thinking that fire is sometimes best quenched with water.
This approach failed, with Vietnam the best example of its intellectual and moral poverty. But
through failure we have now found our way back to our own principles and values, and we have
regained our lost confidence. (Department of State, 2016). Thus Carter took office believing he had
a mandate to conduct foreign policy according to doctrines of supporting moral values and human
rights in our relations with other countries, turning to the military only as a

George W. Bush s Executive Order of Homeland Security
As we move steadfast into the twenty first century we are confronted with more complex and
compromising issues affecting the intricately connected global system. New forms of aggression
and threat are the faces that greet policy makers as they spend countless hours configuring ways to
counter future attacks such as terrorism or massive drug trafficking within and across national
borders. Instead of submitting ourselves to the tyranny of chance, which cruelly deals out futures
blighted with catastrophes that can remain vivid in our memories, President George W. Bushhas
issued a mandate in an attempt to regain control over future acts of aggression such as terrorism ...

Faith Tested
Daniel 3:16 18
Faith is something that many of us talk about but few of us have much less that we think. Some
have more faith in the pews than the Lord. When we entered the church, many of us did not test
and see if the pews could withstand our weight. Most of us assumed that the pews were able to
support our weight. We should have that much faith in the Lord. Believers should believe what God
said He would do. The Pastor defines faith and referenced Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The pastor grew up in the projects and he walked to school everyday. On the way back home from
school, the pastor recognized an eighty year old man sits outside under a tree. The old ... Show more

Brom Bones Monologue
I, Brom Bones, am pretending to be the headless horseman to run Ichabod Crane out of town. I
am dressed in a old military uniform, with my black horse. My head is tucked under my jacket

it, I have never experienced this kind of torture in my heart.
My goal is frightened Ichabod so bad that he runs out of town and never comes back. He will pay
for what he has done, if he is smart he will take one look at me and never come back. I do not
care where he goes as long as it is nowhere near here. Tonight is the night I make Ichabod scarce in
this town. I threw a lit torch in the window of his home to try and burn him out of his house. ...

Alzheimer s Disease Essay 7
Alzheimer s Disease SOC 313 Katherine Malish February 7, 2011 Alzheimer s Disease
Alzheimer s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disease that slowly destroys memory
and thinking skills. Its onset is generally insidious, with gradual deterioration of cognitive
function, eventually resulting death. (Falvo, D. 2009, pg. 226). Alzheimer s is the most common
form of dementia among people age 65 and older. Nearly 70 percentages of all dementias are
Alzheimer s, and over 4.5 million Americans have Alzheimer s. (www.alz.org). This disease is not

While caring for patients with Alzheimer s the first thing I learned was that each patient
experiences Alzheimer s differently. Each day was a new experience for me, and when caring
for a patient with Alzheimer s there s no one way to care for them. As a caregiver it is important
to find effective and simple solutions that work for you. The facility had five units that were set
up by the stages of the disease. I was assigned to unit D which was the unit for patient that
suffered with moderately severe to very severe stages of Alzheimer s. I was assigned to six to
eight patients each shift. My duties were to provide daily care such as, activities, bathing,
grooming, feeding, and transporting patients to and from bed. When caring for patients that are
in the moderately or late stage of Alzheimer s you really have to care for them as if they were a
small child. When bathing a patient I learned to have all my products ready and available to
make bathing time simpler. It is very important to make sure the bathroom is warm and that the
bathroom is equip with a grab bar it helps if the patient has the urge to hold on, and it prevents
fidgeting. It s also important to use a different washcloth for bathing, and face washing, make sure
the water temperature is adjusted correctly, and also make sure the floor is completely dry before
the patient steps out of the shower. To prevent slip and

Individuality And Conformity In Fahrenheit 451 By Ray...
Individuality is feared because it is seen as a threat in a society expects all citizens to conform.
Individuality is when a particular person is aware of what is happening around them, while
conformity is when a person s behavior is in accordance with socially accepted conventions or
standards. In the book Fahrenheit 451by Ray Bradbury, characters in the book show the relationship
between conformityand individuality because those who conform, follow society s rules while
individuals still conform in a way, but retain their individuality by showing that they are
physically and mentally mindful of their actions. People have chosen to conform because
individuality is rejected in a conformist society. Mrs. Phelps, a friend of Montag s wife, is one of
those who chose to conform. In the novel, they have always been told that books are evil which
is why it must be burnt. She said, I ve always said poetry and tears, poetry and suicide and crying
and awful feelings, poetry and sickness; all that mush! Now I ve had it proved to me. You re
nasty Mr. Montag, you re nasty! (101). In other words, she is agreeing to what society instilled to
them about books. By shaming Montag, she conforms since she rejects him for his individuality.
On the other hand, a seventeen year old girl named Clarisse McClellan is left out by society due to
her individuality. She still conforms in some way, but maintains her individuality by following her
heart. It was raining when Montag was on a

The Role Of Large Corporations Under Repressive Regime
What is the role of large corporations under repressive regime? Do they engage in criminal
activities? If yes, how should they be included in a process of transitional justice? The purpose
of this work is to establish the links between the business world and transitional justice
mechanisms. My purpose is more specifically to link the potential crimes perpetrated by
corporations and the transitional justice mechanisms. This work does not link the transitional
justice field to a defined field of research. Corporate responsibility or accountability is a concept
coming from law and business literature. For the United Nations, transitional justice is the full
range of processes and mechanisms associated with a society s attempt to come to terms with a
legacy of large scale past abuses, in order to ensure accountability, serve justice and achieve
reconciliation. The vast majority of the literature discussing transitional justice focuses on
individuals or states, not collective organizations. Mechanisms of transitional justice are fourfold
and include: a justice process, a reparation process, a truth process and a stabilization process. All
these 4 processes are studied as either applying to individuals or state. However, in many cases the
responsibility of individuals is related to the collective responsibility of a group or an organization
other than the state. The objective of this work is to try to connect the role of businesses and
transitional justice mechanisms. The

What Is Three Clustering Algorithms That Be Used That Are...
In this section three clustering algorithms which are used in this paper as baseline are briefly
described. They are: Bisecting K means, LSI and PLSI based clustering.
3.1 Bisecting K means
The Bisecting K means is based on K means and can be run quickly for a big volume of data that
have large dimensions. Thus it is appropriate for text clustering (Steinbach et al., 2000). At the
beginning, all of the documents are in one partition. Then the following procedure will be repeated
K 1 times to obtain K clusters. Initially the partition to be broken is selected. In the standard
algorithm the partition with maximal cardinality is chosen, but in this research the one with
maximal intra scatter has been selected as a low quality cluster. Intra ... Show more content on

3.3 Probabilistic Latent Semantic Indexing
Probabilistic Latent Semantic Indexing (PLSI) with its robust statistical foundation represents the
potential of statistics and likelihood principal in solving model fitting and model selection
problems. PLSI defines a proper generative data representation model. For text mining purposes it
maps VSM into a new latent semantic space model. In contrary to terms (words), the topics are
unobservable. In PLSI model the topics (aspects) are discovered, and hidden attribute classes are
assigned to them.
Suppose we have n documents in the text collection, m terms and k latent class variables. Let A
be the term document matrix, A(di, ti) is the frequency of term tj in document dj, where i = 1, 2,
..., n and j = 1, 2, ..., m. One can normalize A in this way:
∑A(di, ti) = 1, where i=1 to m. In PLSI, each term ti in document di is originated from a latent
semantic variable class, zl (l = 1, 2, ..., k), that implies the conditional independence of ti and di,
on the state of the associated latent topic variable. The joint probability of di and ti is calculated as
follows:
P ( d i| z l )P ( t j| zl ),(2)
P( d i , t j )= P(zl)
Where P(zl) denotes the probability of topic zl and probability factors P(di|zl) and P(tj|zl) denote
how often document di and term tj are associated with topic variable zl, respectively. The
aforementioned probability factors are used to maximize the log likelihood

Relationship between the Change in Shapes in Yield Curves...
Letter of Transmittal
Introduction
This assignment is to study the relationship between the change in shapes of yield curves and
change in economic prospect of an economy. In this study, Australia and America are selected for
the detailed analysis of the topic. Time series data from December 2009, December 2010,
December 2011, December 2012 and the most updated May 2013 will be collected for further
analysis.
The study will be divided into 4 parts. Below we will explain briefly how we will handle the tasks.
Task 1:
We will plot the yield curves of Australia and America using the yield data of Australian Treasury
notes and government bonds as well as the U.S. Treasury bills. Then, we will relate the curve
shapes to expectation theory of the interest rates for further explanations.
Task 2:
We will discuss the relationship between the change in the slope of yield curves and the change in
the prospect of economy by plotting the graphs of slop change in yield curves for Australia and
America. Data with a higher frequency will be collected for more detailed study.
Task 3:
We will look in to how effective the RBA and the FED have done on the change in monetary policy
and how these policies affected the yield curves respectively. Actions taken to deal with the impact
from financial tsunami in 2008 will be target of our discussion.
Task 4:
We will conclude the findings above and try to give out opinions on how the investors and policy
makers should do to achieve a better

  • 2. Does Islam Need Reformation Or Do Islamic Societies Need... While lacking any academic credentials, these islamophobic figures, in their scorched earth view of Islam, wage a campaign that reduces an entire scripture of 114 chapters and over 6,000 verses to a few de contextualized verses, and their criticism of Islam as grossly simplistic and desperate attempt to malign a world religion and a human civilization comparable to others. For a religion, unlike Christianity and Judaism, that didn t experience Renaissance, the Reformation and the Enlightenment, and Industrial Revolution, Islamhas been comparably tolerant at the beginning as well as today, and slowly improving its core human rights conditions. P Does Islam need Reformation or do Islamic societies need Enlightenment? Since the Sept 11, 2001, there have been many calls from within Islamic societies or outside of it pushing for a reformation of Islamic practices. The West s Reformation of 16th century is the supposed a href= http:/ /www.huffingtonpost.com/todd green phd/islam martin luther_b_884264.html template /a for today s Muslim countries. This would be a movement to counter the fundamentalists and theocratic regimes that would pave the way for desirable outcomes like human rights and separation of religion and state. P Salman Rushdie, the author of i Satanic Verses /i , explains it this way: What is needed is a move beyond tradition nothing less than a reform movement to bring the core concepts of Islam into the modern age, a Muslim Reformation to ... • 3. The Legal Establishment Of Two Individuals Creating Vows The legal establishment of two individuals creating vows to commit to each other defines what marriage is, it may just be more than just the paperwork and the ceremonies; but two people having a mindset and a lifestyle with another person in their interest. It could be affection, or it could be expectation like it was centuries ago. Either way, a relationship between a man and a woman creating vows and committing to each other begin and end with specific expectations, a lifestyle change, and somebodies perfect image of that special someone. Today, being married means a lot to live up too; loyalty, dependability, cooperation, and a joined effort especially within the household. Lifestyles may change whether it s the man or the wifeand it can depend on who has the money, the job, and the ability to survive. Meaning one or the other have to be willing to live differently for their special someone. Also most of the time, usually by the man, a person is imagined in their heads the perfect person who they are married too.. First, a marriagebegins with expectations especially in the 20th through the 21st century. Like the movies describe, woman stays home raising the kids, making dinner, making sure the house is clean, and taking care of her husbandwhile he works and earns the money to survive and keep the household running. These expectations can be hard to live up too when it s not in someone s favor, which can cause a problem. In Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour, Mrs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even with all the criticism of her father Cisneros still managed to live her life as she wanted. Cisneros also emphasizes how important it was for her to have her own space and privacy. Essay on Consumer Protection Consumer Protection In this guide I will clarify many issues concerning consumer protection, the first issue I would like to clarify is what consumer protection is all about. Consumer protection is about protecting ordinary people who buy goods and services, from the being sold faulty goods or poor quality services from dodgy traders. Sellers In Black Hawk Down The 2002 film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, tells a heart wrenching true story of the 160 United States solders who risked their lives to capture major war lords who controlled the city of Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia in east Africa in 1993. The solders found themselves in an unexpected position after things do not go as planned. In this essay, I argue that when faced with life or death, loyalty and duty to man and country along with the pursuit for a better life, man would rather die than watch the innocent suffer. • 8. Chivalry Vs Chivalry Chivalry it is a word everyone has heard at least once in their lifetime. The word is no longer used to describe brave knights who fought for the love of their loyal ladies. Over hundreds of years and many lifestyle changes, chivalry has shifted and morphed into something new to fit the current generation. Chivalry changed over the ages from lifestyle and technology developments, as well as comparing the Medieval version of chivalry to the more modern aspect of it that we have now. One of the most important things to be addressed is the definition of a few keywords: chivalry and knight. Chivalry, is defined as the Medieval knightly system with a religious, moral and, social code. Knights had a very strict code to obey known as The Code of Chivalry. A knight is somebody who served someone of a higher power, usually a lord, king, or queen. They were trained from a young age and served in a military capacity, usually on horseback or on foot. Most of the sources used were books, simply because there were few valuable websites to use. One of the books, titled Knight by Robert Jones had a fair amount of important information. There s also a youtube video thrown in as well. Many sources who had similar information, but each had a different perspective. As strange as it might seem, at one point that was a reality for some and the suffering they would have to endure hadn t even begun to begin. These people were victims of the Atlantic Slave tradeand were on their way to the Americas to be bought and sold and forced to work. Exploited and abused these people would go on to become a huge part of what made the United States and our history. The Middle Passage as it is called was a huge part in shaping the history of the Americas. One of these reasons is that there are people whose ancestors were forced to suffer and endure great hardships without any form of compensation. While on the other hand there are people who believe since what happened was hundreds of years ago and nobody alive today was responsible, enslaved, or owned any slaves that it s futile to give reparations to people who never suffered. Either way the lasting effect of the Atlantic Slave Trade is still visible today not in a physical sense but in a cultural sense from the beginning of the slave trade all the way to the American Civil War in which over 600,000 people died for a cause that under which included keeping the institution of slavery or whether to end slavery for good. As such it is important for us to teach about what happened during this span of time as so these mistakes are never repeated and it is understood the pain and suffering that was forced on those who were wrongfully enslaved. Over the course of the Atlantic Slave Trade it has been estimated that 100 million people were forced to live in slavery, in which it was inevitable that something of this scale would only end in a violent and bloody conflict and it was just that that brought about a bloody and violent end to slavery. The Summary of and Response to The Trouble with Talent by Kathy Seal In The Trouble with Talent , Kathy Seal, who frequently writes about children and education in magazines, wrote about the way of education in the U.S. which only focused on the value of inborn aptitude could breed children to become artful people and waste many of American children s potential. At the beginning of this article, Seal told about an experiment of Jim Stigler, who was a UCLA psychologist, which tested the persistence of Japanese and American children by solving the math problem. While the American kids solved the problem for a short time and quickly gave up, the Japanese kids still kept on their work. Stigler stated that Asian education focused to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Indeed, from this article we recognize that the children will gain success when everybody encourages their effort and shouldn t emphasize inborn talent. Effort counts more than innate ability. After reading Seal s article which stated that Americans often thought kids are born smart while Asians more often believed that studying makes a person smarter, I was reminded my own personal beliefs on intelligence and I realized that I have thought people could get smart by exerting effort since I was in the last year of elementary school in Vietnam. Therefore, I empathized with Seal s attitude that success and achievement are a result of working hard. I could remember that I got this attitude when I was in an important final exam which decided where my middle school was in the next year that depended on my score. In this exam, the math test was an extremely difficult test for every student because it had a strange math problem which my classmates and I had never studied before. At first, I had spent for 2 hour to solve this problem, but I didn t succeed. So, I wanted to give up. However, I was worry about my score and thought about my mom, who hoped that I could get the high score enough to enter a famous middle school. Although the issue is not strongly affecting humans just yet, it is influencing wildlife all over the globe. Polar bears, in particular, have been the focus of concern for various organizations that are making it their mission to protect the endangered species. Now more than ever, it seems the polar bearreally needs humans to reconsider the choices being made about the environment. When asked about the viral picture, he commented that the reports about thin or dead adult bears in the Barents Sea region are sadly consistent with what is expected with the warming Arctic. The region has the highest loss of sea eyes, as the summer ice free period is now twenty weeks longer than it was in 1979, when records were first documented. He adds that polar bears aren t the only animals that have altered their usual routines. Walruses have been seen gathering in Northwest Alaska, bowhead whales are moving between Alaska and Greenland and killer whales are migrating to the Arctic earlier than expected. Moreover, beluga whales have been shifting their wintering areas to Greenland, all due to the loss of ice mass. Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions Most of these animals need sea ice to give birth, feed or rest. Shifting to land in order to accomplish theses tasks tremendously affects the biology of many the polar bear specifically, as noted by Walter Vetter and his team of scientists at the University of Hohenheim. The polar bears are becoming so thin that their fat reserves have shifted completely in order to concentrate on nourishing the brain, kidneys and liver. • 13. In The Bissula Analysis In his pioneering work, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon writes that the poetical fame of Ausonius condemns the taste of his age. Indeed, Ausonius s work may seem uncomplicated on the surface: he borrows heavily from previous literature and uses straightforward syntax. However, his work contains depth beyond its ostensible simplicity: it blends genres and uses consistent themes as narrative foci to guide the reader. In two of his most prominent poems, liquid (as water and drink) is the key interpretive control: In the Bissula, alcohol provides wisdom that counters the confining seriousness of sobriety, while in the Moselle the river provides calm comfort that contrasts with the hectic unnatural world. Throughout both poems, Ausonius consistently uses liquid to contrast the serenity and clarity provided by water and drink with the chaos of the dry world. In the Bissula, alcohol plays a key role as the interpretive control. Ausonius addresses the reader directly, proclaiming that his poems are unserious. He writes that I follow Thymele (4), classifying his work as relaxing entertainment more than serious literature. Indeed, he requests that the reader drink before you read (6) in order to best understand the poem. While alcohol is typically associated with confusion and dulled wit, Ausonius claims that the drunk reader will get wise to me (8). With this subversion of expectations, Ausonius proclaims drink as a tool to achieve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I basically killed the King of Scotland to become the King and I was defeated in a battle and lost my power as king! I misused my power as a king and I suffered. Interviewer: That was quite a story. Macbeth: From the story it is quite evident how I went from being a brave and courageous man to becoming a lowly person who has to kill someone to attain power. This just showed that power corrupts ambition. My nature degraded and this I resorted to killing and/or murdering others families who were in my way of becoming the king. My degrading nature also affected my ambition, before I viewed attaining the power of becoming the King as an honor but due to my wife s persuasion, I rather viewed it as a challenge and made sure that I acquired it. This ended up having a negative impact on all the other characters in the story. From the guards to the little children, no one was spared. Many lost their families, children lost their fathers and vice versa. I became so caught up with the power of becoming the King that I even lost my wife. Even she had become corrupt with power but guilt caught up to her earlier than me and she killed herself. It was such a shame! • 15. Capitalism During The Great Depression For example, when a good is scarce, the prices goes up, so consumers try to avoid buying and therefore conserving the resource. Then, the suppliers want to find more of the source as to get a better profit. The reasons behind their actions are selfish, yet they benefit all of society. Smith identified that the pursuit of profit and the power of self interest would increase motivation and result in more advances in technology. His model of capitalism was on the basis of freedom and selfishness as a motivator for society. It was also on the basis that the economy would go through recessions and expansions but fix itself. Recessions are periods in the economy in which unemployment goes up, while profits and spending goes down; a slowdown of the economy. An expansion is essentially the exact opposite. The classical model of economics states that the economy will continue to go through these fluctuations over time and will fix itself with no help, thus not needing a government to give influence. Eventually, however, The Great Depression happened, and there was no end in sight of the dramatic recession. The Great Depression was a widespread crash of the market that happened in 1929 and lasted well into the 1930 s. For a long time, no one knew why it had happened or when it would be over. Often considered capitalism s savior, John Maynard Keynes noticed the lengthy depression and realized that something was causing it to be stuck. He thought that the economy was not going to pick ... Nikola Tesla was born to Djuka Mandic and Milutin Tesla on July 9th or 10th in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia (part of the Austrian Empire at the time). Tesla s father was an Orthodox priest and a writer. As Tesla grew up, his father tried to convince him to follow in his footsteps and join the priesthood. Tesla, however, was uninterested in being like his father and instead found a love in science. The State argued that Kansas law required such deferred judgments from other states to be included in sentencing determinations. The Supreme Court of Kansas disagreed with the Court of Appeals dismissal of Hankins motion, finding that there was a discrepancy between Kansas and Oklahoma s statutory standards for an entry of a judgment of guilt. Under Kansas law, the Court concluded, a conviction requires a judgment of guilt. It was financially impractical for early Hindus to eat cattle. Additionally, cattle were seen as the appropriate gift for Brahmins who were the high priests of Hinduism at the time. It eventually came to be seen that killing some cattle was almost equivalent to insulting a Brahmin in their culture, meaning that there was a strong taboo against Lastly, the development and subsequent spread of Jainism in the region, which expressively forbids harming any type of animal, may have influenced early Hindus not to eat cattle. Many rural Hindu families own a dairy cow which greatly assists them in their way of life. Due to the value of life placed on cattle in Hinduism there is a moral concern regarding killing the animal. One that is not commonly held in Western religions in our lives today. The cow is one of the greatest symbols for selfless giving by providing us milk, curds, ghee butter, urine, and dong and these are all used in Hindu worship also. The fact that products that the cow produces are so important not only to the Hindu way of life, but also to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Nonconformity and Its Effects A nonconformist refers to a person who cannot abide by the established rules and values of society. Because he has a different set of standards, he perceives the world in a unique manner and consequently fails to accept the general population s point of view. He is the one who walks the path most would be unwilling to take. One such individual is Meursault, the nonconforming protagonist in Albert Camuss The Stranger. In this critically acclaimed novel, Camus carefully develops Meursault s nonconformist character and explains how that personality causes a series of events that ultimately ends in Meursault s death. Meursault s emotionless behaviors clearly reveal his nonconformity to society. For example, Meursault could never express any... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [the examining magistrate] seriously and it all seemed like a game to him (63 64). Also, he was even going to shake his hand on his way out (64). The values of society state that a criminal should feel at least some regret over his crimes. Thus, most would agree that the arrested should feel some fear and guilt simply from facing the justice system. However, through his actions and attitude, he just ignores all of the generally accepted rules. Not only he lacks the emotion of remorse, he rather enjoys the time. Meursault s indifference to the death of his mother and the arrest demonstrates his inability to conform to society s norms. Due to his unacceptable nonconformist actions, Meursault invites distrust and coldness from the French judicial system, which symbolizes society as a whole, during his trial. For example, during the trial, the prosecutor catches on all the little details of Meursault s atypical personality and utilizes them to raise Meursault s punishment. So in the reality cost of behaviour not remain constant. It mean when we do CVP analysis we must assume a straight line (constants) so when do a calculation it easy to calculate the cost and make analysis. For example if we see in graph the cost is curve line it hard to calculate the cost if the cost is out of range from the graph. • 42. Reflection For My Personal Assignment My theme for my second final piece follows on from my last theme of colour. This piece also expresses personality through the use of colour, however, I moved away from using colour to form the portraits and decided to make the background of my final piece to focus on colour and pattern. I want to create a sense of how my personality is like just by the sight of my drawing and background. Originally, my idea began with the thought of creating two different pieces. The message I wanted to convey with this was to show the growth of my personality from then till now. The first piece idea consisted of a portrait drawing of me as a young child while the background the background would be either patterns or random painting techniques. The pattern determined how my personality was like as a young child (for example, a structured background with repeated pattern shows a confident and determined personality while random mark makings reflect a creative or angry personality). I wanted this drawing to have smooth pencil strokes to create a pure and soft look to represent my young age. For my second drawing of me in my represent state, I wanted the pencil strokes (used to create the drawing) more rough such as cross hatching strokes technique. The cross hatches will be a representation of me being more confident in myself as well as how the idea of who I am has developed to this age.The background for the first drawing applies to the second one also. During the process of my research, I decided to focus on creating one final piece. The final piece would be my idea of using drawing myself from a young age that I was and then doing a background pattern following the design idea I previously mentioned. Throughout this second part of this project, I researched on mark making drawing techniques from artists such as Rembrandt and Da Vinci. Rembrandt s marks of his drawing overlap each other many times. Rembrandt focus on using his marks to create form and tones, while Da Vinci s mark makings are more structured and technical due to his engineering experience. Davinci s marks mainly arranged in a diagonal order. In addition to mark making, I researched on drawing techniques used to drawing children with. From that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The War Soviet Expansion Of The United States Introduction In 1976, with the election of Georgia governor and Washington outsider Jimmy Carter to the Presidency, the American people could expect that a change was going to come and they were right. After years of military action attempting to stop Cold War Soviet expansion, first in Vietnam under Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, followed by the quick and possibly unnecessary bombing of Cambodia by President Ford in response to seizure of the U.S. freighter Mayaguez (History.com, 2016), Americans were war weary. Thus they welcomed the affable Southern peanut farmer who promised a foreign policy based on high moral principles and regard for human rights. Indeed, Carter set the tone with the following statement, during the first year of his (only) term: For too many years, we ve been willing to adopt the flawed and erroneous principles and tactics of our adversaries, sometimes abandoning our own values for theirs. We ve fought fire with fire, never thinking that fire is sometimes best quenched with water. This approach failed, with Vietnam the best example of its intellectual and moral poverty. But through failure we have now found our way back to our own principles and values, and we have regained our lost confidence. (Department of State, 2016). Individuality is when a particular person is aware of what is happening around them, while conformity is when a person s behavior is in accordance with socially accepted conventions or standards. My purpose is more specifically to link the potential crimes perpetrated by corporations and the transitional justice mechanisms. This work does not link the transitional justice field to a defined field of research. Corporate responsibility or accountability is a concept coming from law and business literature. For the United Nations, transitional justice is the full range of processes and mechanisms associated with a society s attempt to come to terms with a legacy of large scale past abuses, in order to ensure accountability, serve justice and achieve reconciliation. Mechanisms of transitional justice are fourfold and include: a justice process, a reparation process, a truth process and a stabilization process. All these 4 processes are studied as either applying to individuals or state. They are: Bisecting K means, LSI and PLSI based clustering. 3.1 Bisecting K means The Bisecting K means is based on K means and can be run quickly for a big volume of data that have large dimensions. Thus it is appropriate for text clustering (Steinbach et al., 2000). At the beginning, all of the documents are in one partition. Then the following procedure will be repeated K 1 times to obtain K clusters. Initially the partition to be broken is selected. In the standard algorithm the partition with maximal cardinality is chosen, but in this research the one with maximal intra scatter has been selected as a low quality cluster. Intra ... PLSI defines a proper generative data representation model. For text mining purposes it maps VSM into a new latent semantic space model. In contrary to terms (words), the topics are unobservable. In PLSI model the topics (aspects) are discovered, and hidden attribute classes are assigned to them. Suppose we have n documents in the text collection, m terms and k latent class variables. Let A be the term document matrix, A(di, ti) is the frequency of term tj in document dj, where i = 1, 2, ..., n and j = 1, 2, ..., m. One can normalize A in this way: ∑A(di, ti) = 1, where i=1 to m. In PLSI, each term ti in document di is originated from a latent semantic variable class, zl (l = 1, 2, ..., k), that implies the conditional independence of ti and di, on the state of the associated latent topic variable. The joint probability of di and ti is calculated as follows: P ( d i| z l )P ( t j| zl ),(2) P( d i , t j )= P(zl) Where P(zl) denotes the probability of topic zl and probability factors P(di|zl) and P(tj|zl) denote how often document di and term tj are associated with topic variable zl, respectively. The aforementioned probability factors are used to maximize the log likelihood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Relationship between the Change in Shapes in Yield Curves... Letter of Transmittal Introduction This assignment is to study the relationship between the change in shapes of yield curves and change in economic prospect of an economy. In this study, Australia and America are selected for the detailed analysis of the topic. Time series data from December 2009, December 2010, December 2011, December 2012 and the most updated May 2013 will be collected for further analysis. The study will be divided into 4 parts. Below we will explain briefly how we will handle the tasks. Task 1: We will plot the yield curves of Australia and America using the yield data of Australian Treasury notes and government bonds as well as the U.S. Treasury bills. Then, we will relate the curve shapes to expectation theory of the interest rates for further explanations. Task 2: We will discuss the relationship between the change in the slope of yield curves and the change in the prospect of economy by plotting the graphs of slop change in yield curves for Australia and America. Data with a higher frequency will be collected for more detailed study. Task 3: We will look in to how effective the RBA and the FED have done on the change in monetary policy and how these policies affected the yield curves respectively. Actions taken to deal with the impact from financial tsunami in 2008 will be target of our discussion. Task 4: We will conclude the findings above and try to give out opinions on how the investors and policy makers should do to achieve a better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
