Jonathan, A professional nurse, is a father of an 18 month daughter, was sentenced to jail for 18
months for the act he has done.
It was the daughter of the patient who hid a video camera in her mother s room to monitor all the
acts that happens inside the room due a suspicion of her mother having too many bruises in her
body.
The video gone viral to the public and internet, though it was said to be a controversial issue
because the care home or most of the care homes don t allow any camera recorder to be put on the
facility without their consent as it may affect the privacy and confidentially of the care home.
On the video, the nurse was caught slapping the patient 4 times in the abdomen, pushing and
pulling the patient recklessly, and then slapping the resident in her face to finish the work.
His actions were unexplainable to the relatives of the patient and unacceptable in care industry as
this controversy raised issues and concerns about the care/nursing homes on how they treat the
residents and this only put doubts and worries on the patient s relatives about the work being done
in a care/nursing home.

Ban All Advertising From The Tobacco Industry
In 2001, there was an argument by the government of India trying to decide whether or not it was a
good idea to ban all advertising from the tobacco industry. The government s main goal was to find
a way to reduce the number of teenagers using tobacco. The government believed that these
advertisements encouraged teens to start smoking or to continue smoking if they were doing it
already. As expected, this situation created a lot of tension between the government and the tobacco
industry. This created two sides: those in favor of the ban, and those against it.
Those in favor of the ban argued that the government had the moral responsibility to make sure
teens weren t smoking. They pointed out that tobacco causes millions of deaths every year, so it
was important that the youth never started smoking in the first place. They also argued that the
advertisements were too colorful or looked like cartoons which would get too much attention of
children and, eventually, it would drive them to become smokers. The other argument that was
made was that other countries had already done it, so India could do it as well. Finland, France,
and Norway had implemented bans on advertising for tobacco products acting on what they
believed was the best interest of their citizens. Part of the argument was that banning advertisements
wasn t illegal, therefore, there was nothing to stop the government from implementing it. However,
the government was warned that a ban like this would only work

African American Factual Art
Africans transported to the New World experienced brutal and inhuman treatments because of
their skin color, race and religious ideals. Such ideals especially those of ritual significance were
integrate and synchronize to those of the Western World in order to continue their working models
of heaven without fear. Such religious or sacred objects that Africans reassembled when they were
moved to the New World were the Minkisi (singular: Nkisi) which are powerful objects that educe
healing. For example, the Yombe peoples, Democratic Republic of Congo, Medicine bag (Nkisi
Mbumba Mbondo) , early 20th century (Fig.1) and the Haitian, Pacquet Kongo , 21st century (fig.2)

Robert Ferris Thompson also uses figure 1, Mbumba Mbondo to further elaborate the content
and significance that this artifact represented. For instance, in accordance to this artifact the
Kongo viewed this object as a sacred and powerful charm. In Thompson s article the term s
etymology of mbumba is another term for Nkisi, however, mbumba is of higher class, referring
to a higher connection to the dead of Kongo. It also explains that the word mbumba is a
reference to a jar or basket. This jar as analyzed was decorated with materials as mentioned
before and had also great significance such as white buttons symbolizing mystery and the bird
feathers symbolizing power that flies that was meant and believed to be the connection to
heaven. Furthermore, Figure 2 a more recent Nkisi is more vibrant and luminous or as referred
to the illumination to call upon the Iwa. Now, according to Stephen D. Glazier s article, the term
Iwa or Ioa served in reference to spirits or deities, and this comes way back from African origins.
To explain, in Africa the Kongo community would have the priest sanctify the Iwa to allow
practice of devotion as a fellowship. However, in Haiti the relationship

Demolition Man Dystopian Elements
Intro: The main dystopian element used in the book the host and the movie demolition man is
citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel. This dystopian element is being portrayed by
the act of feminists, and through the baltimore riots in our world today. Without these think
different people the outcomes of their societies might still be in perish. Explain how the dystopian
element is present in the book.
Body 1
Topic sentence: Throughout the book the host wanda comes to realize that she must be betray her

conform to uniform expectations and rebel, is present in many aspects of the story. Many
characters provide examples that this elements ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dystopian element is similar to source #1 the host because they both have citizens who want to
take their world back. Within the movie Demolition Man the main character John Spartan choses to
lead a rebellion against the new government leader because of his unjust ways of living. John
goes down into the under living areas where people don t follow the rules up above and have
their own way of living. The sewer people consider John to be a blessing in disguise causing
them to get riled up and deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau. Demolition Man shows how
citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel by the sewer people deciding to kill Dr.
Raymond Cocteau the leader of the normal world. This is also demonstrated in The Host when
Melanie beings to take back her own body and rebels against Wanda. The Sewer people in
Demolition Man effect the society up above because they take their food also show them their
way of living by wearing whatever they want and doing whatever they want. Inside the
dystopian society another main character Simon Phoenix breaks many laws also getting a
small amount of people to follow him into battle against the above world. Simone leads with
John Spartan in order to get their city back to the way it was originally and towards the end of
the movie they succeed. After Simone kills Dr. Cocteau John leads the sewer people up from
under the world and shows them their new world they then begin to ignore all of the old laws
and the citizens from up above follow the new rules and many continue to join making their new
world. This finale act of rebellion shows how even small acts can lead to big changes. The
dystopian element of citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel act as a bonding path of
Demolition man and the host as both main characters cause a rebellion so big that they end up

Japan And China
Chinese and Japanese economies both make up large areas of the worlds economy; however, there
are many differences in these countries with respect to economic development and current
economic state. Analysis of Japans and Chinas economic development requires the observation of
historical components as well as current actions to stimulate economy. The history of Chinese and
Japanese economies holds many similarities and differences. Both Japan and Chinaexperienced
growth in the 1400 s, driving for a more advanced societies, with improved economic policies.
However, in Japan the economic advances were more significant, especially when taking into
account their trade with European nations in the 1500 s, allowing for stimulation of their economy

Conversely, Japan s economic growth was not significant in the early 1900 s, due to their push
towards militarization. Once the 1930 s arrived, Japan began to invade China, at this point, both
economies were not expanding greatly, most of their resources were being put towards battle as
opposed to the trade that was necessary for their economic growth. After the second world war,
Japan and China were attempting to repair and grow, despite this, China began to experience a shift
in government which would greatly affect their economy, the end of the Chinese Civil War marked
the rise of a communist dictatorship. Japan, in the 1960 s experienced immense economic growth,
with US investing in their munitions and their lack of focus on militarization, Japan experienced
10% average growth. The Chinese dictatorship under Mao can be partially attributed to Japanese
growth, due to the fear America held towards the spread of communism, if the United States held
influence over Japan, they could keep it as a sphere of influence, thus stimulating the Japanese

My Business Ideas About The Talent Management
My business ideas that I pitched to three people this week
This week, three different people whom I spoke with enjoyed hearing about my business ideas.
These people are Tatsuo Matsuo who is a HR manager of Fujitsu, Shinya Kitagawa who is a HR
manager of Hitachi, and Dr. Thomas Field who is a director of the Agribusiness Entrepreneurship
program. The following are the details:
Tatsuo Matsuo:
Mr. Matsuo is a competent HR manager with 12 years experience in HR consultations. He is
interested in developing his own company that consults how to hire and train new and existing
employees. He asked me for my opinion.
I introduced him about my project profile about the Talent ManagementCompany, which is an
innovative concept in organizational behavior to hire, train, and maintain top performers in
companies. However, because this is a new HR program, most companies do not know to align
Talent Management within their HR strategies.
Then, I explained the overview about the Talent Management project. Mr. Matsuo said that he
would like to know more about my project on Skype in a week.
Shinya Kitagawa:
Shinya is a capable HR manager at Hitachi Corporation as well as my close friend of ten years.
He is also thinking about developing his own company in the future. His interest is a Global
Leadership program that shift leaders paradigm at companies, because Hitachi exports its train
systems to Europe, the US, and Asia.

Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking
Importance of Communication
Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of public speaking
higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of Mental Health over 74% of
people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is a sad statistic being that communication is
the backbone of our society. It is what allows us to connect with others. Without communication
skills, we would not be able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives.
We, as a society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication
includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact, over 70% of our
communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my interpersonal communication
by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new standards in the way I communicate with
others. In my personal life, improper communication has led to more than one situation that caused
hurt to someone I love. Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of
poor communication.
Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I would say it
would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be higher, but the fact of the
matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public speaking. Being an extroverted personality
often leads people to believe I would have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight
is on, it is an entirely different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of
people, I start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my palms
get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of dread can disappear
sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it went well) I feel a sense of
accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride that comes with effectively communicating
to your peers and being well received.
My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to effectively
communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will further my success in the
competitive job market. Some of the

healthcare companies and is the biggest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitative hospitals.
The present CEO, Richard Scrushy, founded this Fortune 500 company in 1984. It expanded
tremendously in the 1990s and received most of its revenue through Medicare. By 1993, it
became the largest rehabilitation services company. However by the late 1990s, the company
suffered from changes in Medicare policy, dramatically decreasing their revenues. By 2002, it was
starting to face financial issues, stock prices dropped precipitously, and Scrushy temporarily
resigned as CEO (Soltani 263). Then in 2003, HealthSouth was charged with Medicare fraud and
falsification of its earnings, internal control defilements, fraud, and ?cooking the books? (Soltani

upward by at a minimum $1.4 billion. The corporation was the first one charged under the Sarbanes

methods used to commit the fraud. Also, this paper will examine the audit failure of the external

A Comparison Between Elizabeth Bishop And James Wright

Poetry ENGL 345
29 October 2017
First Paper: Elizabeth Bishop, James Wright comparison As masters of imagery, both Elizabeth
Bishop and James Wright composed vivid poetry as a road map to a significant closing. Bishop and
Wright often opted to dramatic gestures or statements at the closing of their poems rather than the
predictable expected metaphor. Use of dramatization leaves the reader with complete understanding
of the narrative s key message. Replacing the metaphorical ending to rather be embedded in the
deep imagery of their work.
In their days, Bishop and Wright lived as outsiders due to the social norms during the mid 1900 s.

Bishop s The Fish and Wright s A Blessing are structured around metaphorical imagery to create
balance between beauty that is known and unknown. Both poems intentionally begin and end with
meticulous imagery for the reader to see through the story. Visionary insights of the speaker s
experience in each poem every step of the way builds the readers imagination.
The narrator of The Fish initially stresses to portray the fish as worn out comparing its skin to
ancient wall paper (Bishop 11). When the narrator caught the tremendous (Bishop 1) fish she
observed he didn t fight, but his gills fought the struggle to strain the terrible oxygen (Bishop 23)
being in air. The narrator illustrates visually dense phrases when comparing the fish eye to her
own recognizing they are larger than mine/ but shallower, and yellowed (Bishop 35 36). Not a
shift in his eye then describes his iris as seen through the lenses/ of old scratched isinglass
(Bishop 40). Becomes an eye opening moment for the speaker and even the boat, becoming a
moment of empathy and understanding. I stared and stared/ and victory filled up/ the little rented
boat, (Bishop 67) the vivid personification prepared the reader to understand the dramatic
narrative. Completing the image for the reader, ...everything/ was rainbow, rainbow, rainbow!

The Charge of the Light Brigade and Attack Essay
The Charge of the Light Brigade and Attack The Charge of the light Brigade by Alfred Lord
Tennyson and Attack by Siegfried Sassoon are two very dissimilar poems. Both of them are on
the same topic of war but have many contrasts in how they treat the subject matter, war. The main
difference between these two poems is the audience that they were written for. Tennyson, as poet
laureate, was written for public reading, but Sassoon s work which showed more emotion and
feeling, was therefore more of a private poem. The poems tone and mood are very different.
Tennyson s poem is a triumphant, victorious and celebratory poem. This is because the Victorians

While time ticks blank on their busy wrists. The language in the two poems is different. The
poets use different literary terms. Tennyson begins his poem by using anaphora in the opening
lines, Half a league, half a league, half a league onward. Anaphora is the repetition of certain
words or words to obtain a rhythmic pattern. In this historic war, the men charged at the enemy
guns on horseback, so this repetition in Tennyson s opening lines could be associated with the
sound of galloping horses. Tennyson uses this again when he writes, Cannon to the right of
them, Cannon to the left of them, Cannon in front of them. Tennyson also uses rhetorical
questions in his poem, for example, Was there a man dismay d? and When can their glory fade?
These are questions to which no answer is required, and add dramatic effect to the poem. Then
he uses the phrase, The Valley of Death, to describe the valley in which the charge took place.
This phrase is taken from the Bible ( Psalm 23). In other translations of the Bible ( The Good
News Bible), it is translated as, the deepest darkness . Tennyson uses it with dramatic effect as if
the men were ordered to go into the deepest darkness to charge down the cannons. During the
Victorian period of history the Bible would have been important to the Victorian people and so the
poem appealed to their cultural knowledge. Tennyson also uses other terms to

Autism Spectrum Assessment
Proper and applicable assessment measures are the foundation to evidence based assessments. For
psychologists, it is critical to choose the best assessment tools that can provide the most reliable and
valid measures to give accurate suggestions about the most relevant intervention procedures.
Application of psychometrically valid tools and significant data assembly is decisive for optimal
intervention at the early stages of the diagnosis of the AutismSpectrum Disorder. Over the past
twenty years, researchers on Autism have made notable findings in comprehending prevalence rates
and creating accurate assessments to gather current diagnostic criterion. A significant increase in
the prevalence rate of ASD has led researchers to make further inquiries about the precision of the
tests used to assist in the diagnosis of autism.
The Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition (CARS 2) is a 15 item rating scale used to

Fitting And Installing External Bifolding Doors
Fitting and Installing External Bifolding Doors
External bifolding doors are perhaps the best and most affordable solutions when you are
looking to bring a little extra light and warmth into your home. More often than not, the space in
which you ll be installing these doors will also already be an existing aperture, so it s not like
you ll need to get the sledgehammer out and take down the kitchen or living room wall! If you
re reading this then that s something you probably already understand, as you re presumably
considering installing a set of bifolding doors yourself. These doors will most likely either be
installed leading out into your garden or patio from a kitchen, lounge or dining room area, so
please take into account that, whilst you re working, this area will be exposed to the elements. As
such, this is a job you re going to want to get done in as expeditious a manner as humanely
possible, so whilst you obviously feel you have the DIY skills to do the job, you might want to ask
for some help from a friend or family member to get the job done in a single day or, at the very
least, weekend. Please note that the following guide relates specifically to exterior bi fold doors.
Whilst many of the steps involved with installing interior bi fold doors will be similar, or even
identical in some cases, there are also some serious differences, some of which will be less obvious
than others.

Harms Of Social Networks On Society
Harms of Social Networks While social networking does have value, it also has tremendous
potential for negative influences in everyday society. The harm caused by social networking has
skyrocketed over the last decade. There are no regulations to the content that can be posted or
the immediate contact one can have with a stranger, leading to dangerous situations. This is a
rising concern for the parents of young children as well as all who are part of social networks.
The growing population has become overwhelmingly focused on the world of media and
technology; most could not solve a simple math question, much less have a personal
conversation with someone. While our schools are being downsized, the Facebook population
is growing each and every day. A solution must be found before the doors of schools are closed,
the interaction with one another face to face lessens, and the lives of teens with a good future are
destroyed. There have been many solutions set up to overcome these obstacles, for example;
blocking certain posts, privacy settings, and under age logs in denials. Fortunately, these have
worked in some cases. The summer of 2010, Facebook shot up in their members with more than
500 million people. Even Twitter, where the posts must be 140 character or fewer has reached 140
million members (Clemmit 751). Because of the increasing popularity of social networks, a decline
is starting to be seen in everyday personal interaction with others. The dominance that

Pippin Analysis
On Sunday, November 5th, I viewed the W.T. Woodson production of the musical Pippin. The
script for Pippin was originally written by Roger Hirson and the music and lyrics by Stephen
Schwartz. It was first performed at Carnegie Mellon University and later on Broadway. The Theo
Ending, which was not part of the original production, was written by Mitch Sebastian. Although
the production itself was excellent, I think the idea of Pippin was slightly better than the
scripting. The concept of Pippin having a dual life could have been presented more clearly, and
several points in the plot are seemingly nonsensical until much later after having watched the play.
Some, such as Charlemagne s rebirth, still seem strange, unless you view all the characters as
simply players trying to make Pippin s life more difficult so he goes through with the finale.
However, this script does not present this idea clearly enough to notice this during the play. The
scripting is almost insignificant and only allows for transitions between the songs, although, as a
musical, this is not entirely unexpected. The songs were very well written and expressed the
emotions of the character/s in consideration very well. The scripting often took away from these
moments with vague, poorly put pieces of information that seemed to mainly serve as transitions. If
looking at this as a plot map, instead of having a steady rising action, it goes up and down from
interesting points (typically the songs) to less important,

My Slave Narrative
When I was young I was a slave. It was a part of my life that I prefer not to flashback to because
of the horrors it brings me back to. One day, at our family reunion at the Chesapeake Bay my
great grandchildren, came up to me begging for stories. Since I had always been so private about
my past, I felt that it was a good time for my family to learn about my past life as a slave. Come
here young ones, I shouted, Would you guys like to learn about my former life as a slave? Yes!
they kids shouted as they ran over to my rocking chair. My oldest great granddaughter, Ethel,
was the first at the rocking chair and she asked, Grandmother, can you tell us about your
wedding? That s a great story, Ethel, one of my few fond memories as a slave. To start off, I met
Frank in the cookhouse while I was gathering food to bring back to our master s house. He and I
were both house servants. My heart stopped when first saw him and I thought he was the most
handsome man I had ever seen. On the outside, he was a strong, tough man, but on the inside, I
felt that he would be caring and sweet. Later that night, after I had finished my work we met again
in the cookhouse. Instantly, we fell for each other and our marriage ceremony was performed two
months later. What happened at your wedding? Ethel asked. Frank and I had a fairly traditional
slave ceremony. As house servants, we were about to have a formal wedding. For us, the black

Medical Malpractice Laws
When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That s my religion . Abraham Lincoln
once said this and he said this in the sense that everyone is vulnerable to doing wrong by
accident or on purpose. Doctor is considered as great people who are able to use their skills to
care for patients; nonetheless, they can deviate from the good and become bad as well. In
response to this malpractice, laws are there to protect patients from being harmed by the practice
of a doctor. Giving the advantage of suing the doctor for malpractice creates a functioning barrier
that affects the performance of a doctor. Malpractice laws create fear in the physicianthat it hinders
them from performing in their maximum capacity. Although malpractice... Show more content on

Forth, the patient was injured. This could be physical, mental, social, or in any other way, the
patient was harmed. Lastly, the patient lost something of value, such as ability to move, walk,

There are two key purposes for medical malpractice laws. It focuses on two groups of people, one
the patient and the other doctor. Medical malpractice laws give back compensation to the patient
for any injury caused by the mistake of the doctor and prevent doctors from practicing negligence
(The National Bureau of Economic Research). Malpractice law keeps the patient and doctor in a

The People Have Made Outstanding Progress On Their Goal Essay
Over the Rainbow
Twenty four year old Daniel Zamudio was walking through a park in Santiago, Chile, when four
men appeared and began to burn Daniel with cigarettes and beat him with rocks and glass bottles,
injuring him in various ways (Saul). The men used the broken glass to cut off a part of his ear, as
well as, cut swastikas into his skin because Zumudio was gay (Saul). Less than a month later, Daniel
Zamudio passed away due to this violent hate crime (Saul). Although only few instances of
homophobic crimes are reported, FBI statistics show that attacks on the lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, and pansexual (LGBT+)
community, such as the Orlando gay nightclub shooting, are one of the common occurrences, right
behind racial attacks (Saul). LGBT people have made outstanding progress on their goal to reach
equality. For example, same sex couples now have the right to adopt children in all the states of
America and thanks to President Obama, federal workers cannot be discriminated upon sexual
orientation or gender identity (Clinton). Although the LGBT community has civil rights that should
be protected, due to society s narrow mindedness, the LGBT+ community gets treated as second
class citizens.
Education is an important factor in life in order to thrive, but LGBT students face harassment in
school due to their identity. According to a Human Rights report conducted in 2001, two million

Persuasive Speech About Drug Use
People are beginning to wake up and realize that drug prohibition is an utter failure a waste of time
and resources, at the very least. Yet, not everyone is quite convinced, thanks to decades of
propoganda, hear say, and misinformation. From an outsider s perspective, it s quite easy to
empathize with people that genuinely think drugs are a gateway to darkness and despair, with the
statistics of violence and criminal activity, potential dangers that come with druguse, and social
stigmas, that run amok in society. However, as we continue to evolve and advance our
technological capabilities, expand our scientific knowledge, and grow closer towards collectively
understanding the strange phenomena we call life , we also learn more about the past. We have
more to work with when formulating hypotheses and theories about our species origins, what our
ancestors were like, how far we ve evolved, etc. Perhaps one of the more shocking bits of... Show

The earliest, most credible account of drug use by humans dates back between 50,000 60,000 B.C.,
in which there is a notion that Neanderthals of the time used the psychoactive stimulant, Ephedra,
as evidenced by a burial site in Iraq, where pollen remains of the herbal drug were found. There is
contradictory evidence which states the remains of the ephedra may have come from rodents in the
area, who are known to burrow and store seeds and flowers in their burrows, making it impossible to
come to a concrete conclusion on whether these people did use the drug. Nevertheless, prospectors
believe that if these people actually took use of the drug, that it may have been for medicinal,
spiritual, and/or entheogenic ritualistic purposes, as the effects of the ephedra have euphoric,
amphetaminic, and sympathomimetic (mimics the effects of neurotransmitter substances, such as

Significance Of The Globe Theatre
Elizabethan drama remains some of the most appreciated and world renowned to ever exist.
Despite its early foundation in the mid 16th century to early 17th century, plays from William
Shakespeare, Ben Jonson and Christopher Marlowe, almost five hundred years later are regularly
produced and performed to a modern audience. No dramatist, living or dead, has been more
frequently reprinted or performed, or translated into a greater variety of languages...Shakespeare in
performance is now reaching larger audiences than ever before in history . (S.Schoenbaum, 1979)
One of the main reasons for the longevity of Elizabethan theatrical success was the construction of
The Globe Theatrein 1599. With the construction of The Globe came notable improvements in
special effects, costumes, makeup and the size of audiences attending the performances.

The simplistic architecture throughout The Globe and its productions can be recognised as
another example of its lasting influence as this tradition remains within modern performances in
the 1997 Globe and its own construction. Theatrical innovation was quite creative with regards
to special effects and sound. These were managed by using fireworks, drums, and even firing
canons throughout the dramas. When Shakespeare wrote plays, all the action took place on a
small stage with little more than a painted wall to suggest the setting. If a scene called for
thunder, stagehands pounded a drum or rippled sheet metal. If a scene required a ghost or a god,
stagehands lowered him on a winch line or sent him up through a trap door. A character wounded
in a sword fight clapped a hand to his chest, bursting a pouch beneath his shirt to release blood or a
facsimile thereof . (Cummings,

Analysis Of The Article Your Mother Is Your Bones ...
Critical Responses to the Novel Orville Schell wrote the article Your Mother is in Your Bones about
The Joy Luck Club. Schell starts out by giving some historical background information on China,
about those emigrating in order to escape Communism and how Asian immigrants didn t fit in
America as easily as Europeans did. He also talks about Chinatowns and other struggles immigrants
faced. He talks about the strange phenomena where Chinese Americans were bound to China by
heritage, but they had never even been there. He then summarizes the events of the novel, focusing
on June and her dynamic with her motherand the rest of the Joy Luck Club. He talks about the
stories told by each of the mothers, describing them as surreal and magical. He says that the
formatting of the novel using all the different stories places the reader into the shoes of a Chinese
immigrant trying to navigate their way to becoming more Americanized. He says that the novel
could ve been written in a patronizing way or could ve been clichГ©, but because of Amy Tan s
skills it was written beautifully (Schell). In John Mullan s article John Mullan on The Joy Luck Club
, Mullan starts by discussing the similarities between the game mah jong and the structure of the
novel. He talks about the divisions of four, the four players, and he talks about which characters
narrated which sections. He talks more about the narrators, mentioning that June is kind of the
bridge between these two generations. He says

The Archetypal Hero Journey, J
The archetypal hero journey, Joseph Campbell states, is a typical series of heroic actions. Four
stages form the hero journey: departure, trials, epiphany, and return (the stages do not necessarily
occur consecutive with the listing). Death and resurrection of lifestyle and beliefs, spiritual journey,
and finally rebirth form herojourney s motif. An archetypal hero pattern is the transformation of
the character s conscience through trials and revelations. Lust, fear, and social duties tend to be
the main trials heroes face. Campbell defines a hero as a character who overcomes his trials and
gives his life to something superior to himself committed extraordinary deeds. There are two types

The Basic Idea Of Science
THE BASIC IDEA
In the field of physical science it has been proved that absolutely everything can be scientifically
reduced to one ultimate invisible Essence, something which cannot be contacted by the physical
senses. It is therefore only reasonable to say that originally everything must have, and still does,
come from It. According to one s way of thinking, different names are given to It: Energy, Principle,
Universal Intelligence, Universal Mind, Consciousness, Spirit, God.

That too is an inescapable realization drawn from the premise of an infinite being. The Infinite
cannot be one with just one of us. It must be one with every one of us. Each and everyone is one
with the infinite One, God. If you doubt that Jesus came to this conclusion, then consider one
question: Why did he say that when we pray we should pray to Our Father, rather than his Father?
We are all one with the infinite One. I think that we must accept this premise because it is
reasonable; but my insistence that others think and reason as I do would be unreasonable. Anyone
can ignore the infinite One; they just can t be separate or apart from It. We can ignore our heritage,
our inheritance and our inherent nature. Nevertheless it is with us, even thou we deny it. You can
ignore reality, but it doesn t go away.
One Reality The Apostle Paul wrote: In him we live, and move, and have our being [Acts 17:28]
Jesus said: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is
within you. [Lk. 17:21] God would have to be very small to be within all, and very large to
include all. However, to resolve these two extremes, God need only be infinite. Remember what
Ralph Waldo Emersonwrote in his essay, History:
There is no great and no small

And it cometh everywhere. When we envision a God that is omniscient, omnipotent and

When Poetry Comes Not Come At All Essay
If Poetry comes not as naturally as Leaves to a tree it had better not come at all (biography). John
Keats was an English born poet who was known for his sonnets, romances, and epics. He was a

He favors Evolution over Creationism. In the article David explains how there are gaps in

Creationism is the belief that God created the universe and all that exists. There has been a long
disagreement between the evolution believers called evolutionists and Creationism believers
called creationists. Thomas defends his belief in evolutionism from the creationists. The
creationists claimed the evolutionists argument, which is fossilization, has gaps in it that make
their ideals flawed. Thomas defends his position by giving evidence on how he can prove that
fossilization is valid truthful evidence to support evolutionism. Thomas uses the explanation of
the formation of the fossils to defend his case. He gives a series of descriptive steps all telling
how each step helps support his argument, each step supporting evolution in different ways. The
formation of fossils gives the explanation that animals must die and be buried in a compositional
area. This allows scientists to be able to date the age of the discovered fossils. Thomas admits that
dating fossils might not be one hundred percent accurate, and there are gaps. Thomas also claims
that dating the fossils is much more evidence based than any evidence creationists have. This
article is just a small portion of the arguments for both sides have it s primarily evolutionists. It s
just defending one of the many critiques of the creationists. Thomas explains to the readers that
even though he can t physically prove that evolution is true, he can back up his claims with science

With a steady business in place, AAA isn t sure on how to go about with this offer. Stasia Acosta
s main concern, however, comes from the fact that if she declines Business Center s proposition
once again, they may forever lose them as a customer. Furthermore, another turning point would
be the sole idea of having a newly formed competitor, essentially created by themselves, who
could potentially lower the market price making it a critically devastating move for AAA.
Needless to say, with one single customer holding thirty percent of AAA s sales, making the right

private label is forced to compete with a store brand, which is the case with any large retailer.
For the sake of argument let us take the private label brand Huggies, and compare it to a known

is their concern for Huck, which, though it possesses moralistic overtones, includes an element
of sincerity, giving them some patience in dealing with the uncivilized Huck. Other than this,
the sisters role is to represent the artificial, empty civilization to which Huck rejects. As much as
the widow Douglass tries to adopt conventional religion upon Huck, he continues to reject it.
Before every meal the widow told Huck he had to say grace. Huck referred to this as having to

Particular situations that assess an individual s identity often mirrors the beliefs and morals they
prominently value. Due to the overwhelming significance that sacrifice plays in life, writers and
artists have often displayed this theme through various forms of artwork, such as novels, plays, and
paintings. Adding it as a theme within pieces of literature and art encourages individuals to reflect
on their own sacrifices and how it affects their values. As a result, writers such as Arthur Miller,
Nathaniel Hawthorne, and William Shakespeare utilized the concept of sacrificeto emphasize the
important values of reputation, unconditional love, and loyalty. The Crucible, authored by Arthur
Miller, captures John Proctor s sacrifices that ultimately emphasizes the value he places on his
reputation. In an effort to preserve the only thing left for himself, Proctor exclaims to those around
him that I have given you my soul; leave me my name (Miller 130). Once he was met with the
realization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hester s initial sacrifice for love is highlighted during her decision to commit the affair with Arthur
Dimmesdale. Although she was fully aware of the consequences that accompanied the affair, she
considered love to be more valuable than her reputation among other individuals in the community.
Yet again, Hester was met with another option to further sacrifice the reputation that had already
been abandoned, when she exclaimed that I might endure his agony, as well as mine (Hawthorne
58). She held the identity of her affair a mystery to the outside world, which not only provided the
man with protection, but it also defined Hester s idolization of love and endearment. Due to Hester
s reputational sacrifice, Nathaniel Hawthorne used her forbidden relationship to characterize the
rigid and punitive Puritan community of the colonial

Equilibrium Reaction Lab
Discussion In this experiment, the chemical reaction between aqueous iron ions (Fe3+) and
aqueous thiocyanate ions (SCN ) reacting to form aqueous FeSCN2+ was observed.2 Since this
process is an equilibrium reaction, it can also proceed in the reverse direction where FeSCN2+
decomposes to form Fe3+ and SCN . One of the initial starting reactants for this experiment was
Fe(NO3)3, which decomposes to form iron ions and nitrate ions. The other starting reactant was
KSCN, which decomposes to form potassium ions and thiocyanate ions. Although both
decomposition processes involve their own equilibria, the equilibrium observed in this experiment
was only the one between iron and thiocyanate ions to form FeSCN2+. All equilibrium reactions
have a corresponding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, the relationship between the increase in Fe3+ and the increase in FeSCN2+ was used
to determine Kc with the help of spectroscopy and mathematical manipulation of the equilibrium
expression. The experiment started with a pure solution of KSCN. Knowing that KSCN
decomposes into the reactant of interest, SCN , the 50 mL of KSCN was rewritten as 50 mL of
1.2E 4 M SCN since this value is written in terms useful to the experiment. After this, successive
additions of 1 mL of 0.1 M Fe3+ was added to the SCN solution, mixed, and measured for
absorbency at 445 nm. FeSCN2+ has a characteristic orange color, allowing for the spectroscopy
of the resulting solution to be recorded since this color falls within the visible range capabilities
of the spectrometer. Beer s law states that absorbance (A) is equal to the molar absorptivity (a)
times the pathlength of the cuvette (l) times the concentration of the species in question (c) for an
overall equation of A=acl. As more and more Fe3+ was added, the color became a deeper and
deeper orange because more FeSCN2+ was being produced. Concentration is proportional to
absorbance, so in theory the absorbance of the solution should increase with each 1 mL addition of
Fe3+.2 Since the pathlength of the cuvette (1 cm) and the molar absorptivity remain constant, only
the concentration of the iron causes variation in the absorption. Once the

Chilean Wine

MontGras
Export Strategy for a Chilean Winery
In November 2001, Patricio Middleton, CEO of ViГ±a MontGras, a $7 million Chilean winery, was
driving through the Colchagua Valley to meet American journalists from WineEnthusiast magazine.
Looking at the endless vines that surrounded him, he wondered how those newly planted grapes
would find a market. Chile, the world s 10th largest wine producer, had enjoyed an export boom
in the 1990s and had grown to become the fourth largest wine exporter, its wines positioned
mainly in the lower end of the fine wines price range. (See Exhibit 1 for world wine production and
exports, and Exhibit 2 for price ranges.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the industry remained fragmented, with the largest player, Californian E J Gallo,
accounting for 1.5% worldwide market share.1 The industry was also in transition at the consumer
and distribution levels.
Old World versus New World
The Old World wine industry, centered on France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany, was
characterized by long standing traditions of wine production, industry fragmentation, high levels of
regulation from production to labeling and marketing, and strong domestic markets. Most Old
World wines were made from a blend of different grapes and were named after the growing regions
themselves, such as Bordeaux, Chianti, or Rioja, which resulted in considerable complexity of
designation for example, the French regulatory system included 450 different apellations d origine
controlГ©es (AOCs, or registered origin names). The Old World philosophy of wine production
was based on the importance of terroir (terrain), which assumed that every vineyard was unique
because of differences including soil, microclimate, topography, and the skill and practices of the
winemaker. The New World wine industry, dominated by Australia, the United States, South Africa,
Chile, and Argentina, was more concentrated and more focused on exports. In addition, the lack of
stringent regulation in the New World had spurred innovation in production processes and a more

Essay On How To Strain Your Transmission
As you start to embrace the summer heat and head off on short day trips and long road trips,
make sure your vehicle is ready to handle the heat. Your vehicle s transmission is what provides it
with the power it needs to switch gears and keep you moving down the road. Summer driving
activities can take a tool on your transmission, which is why you need to make sure that your
transmission is working properly and has the fluid it needs to keep your engine cool.
Summer Activities That Can Strain Your Transmission
Many individuals use their vehicles for different activities in the summer months. These activities,
combines with regular driving activities, can strain your transmission, especially when it is really
hot outside.
Your vehicle and your transmission... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Steps To Take To Protect Your Transmission In The Summer
In order to make sure that your vehicle can handle all of the conditions listed above, you need to
make sure that the fluid is clean and full.
You can do this by opening the hood of your vehicle and finding the cap to your transmission.
Make sure you only open it when your vehicle is cool; the liquid inside your transmission can get
very hot and could burn you if you open the cap when your engine is still hot.
Look at the fill line and see if your transmission needs more fluid. Pull out the dipstick and
examine the fluid. It should be a clear pinkish red color and it should not have any debris in it
nor should it really have an odor. If is is a different color, has debris in the fluids, or smells funky,
you need to take your vehicle in and have your transmission flushed.
If the fluid looks alright, but the levels are a little low, all you need to do is top off your
transmission fluid. You can purchase the appropriate transmission fluid and a funnel at a local auto
parts store; just provide them with the make and model of your vehicle and they will find the
correct transmission fluid for

Cultural Identity Divide
Culture can be defined as a belief that allows you to identify who you are. Thus, through cultre
there is self discovery and belonging in a group of persons who share the same belief system; who
have found themselves and are now seeking to digest more about one another through eachother s
unearthing of one s self. Cultureassists you not only in identifying who you are, but the sort of
people you can surround yourself with due to common interests. In this society; I have witnessed
cultural unity, cultural identitycrisis and moreover a cultural divide and surprisingly all of those
fold under the same umbrella in reagrds to knowing where you stand and those you choose to
stand with. Currently, society is a huge caste system of choices to be made, opinions to be had
and decision making. Often, many are questioned of whose side they are on awhile many don t
have the opportunity to make that decision for they are often placed in a caste based off of
appearances. This generation of millenials confuses the caste system with electronics being in
the forefront of their upbringing; self discovery is no longer going to a park and playing with kids
of similar interests on the playground; but now finding yourself is depicted by the amount of
followers, likes and/ or views you possess. Moreover, society now can also be defined by who you
follow, who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The notion of picking a platform to represent your values and integrity and being a solo

My Country Dorothea Mackellar Analysis
How do Mackellar and AD Hope use literary devices to convey their perspective of Australia?
Introduction
Mackellar and AD Hope use literary devices like imagery, personification and tone to convey their
perspective of Australia. The Poem Australia by AD Hope describes his negative opinion of
Australia as he looks down on Australians way of life. Contrastingly, the poem My Country was
written by Dorothea Mackellar at age 19 in 1904. She wrote while she was homesick in England
and she expresses her deep passion and love for Australia as she compares the natural beauty of
Australia to the landscape of Britain.

Mackellar and AD Hope utilize imagery to highlight their view of the Australian landscape.
Personification
Mackellar and AD Hope use the poetic technique of personification to express their perspective
of Australia. In both poem the country of Australia is personified and referred to as her and is
given human qualities. By making Australia a her the audience can see the tender and caring
nature of a woman in the good events, like rain that makes things grow, after the destruction, like
fires. The audience can also associate the beauty with that of a woman. Some examples of
personification are I love her far horizons and all you have not loved her (Mackellar, 1908). My
Country uses personification to help the audience understand the beauty and nature of Australia.
AD Hope also gives Australia human qualities he refers to the land as a women they call her a
young country . Australia is Hope s criticism of general Australian society and the country itself.
Australia is mentioned as women beyond her change in life, a breast still tender but within the
womb is dry . He furthermore says that people may call Australia a young country, but they lie .
Australia to him is the last of lands, the emptiest AD Hope is trying to express that
of droughts and flooding rains .
This describes Australia as cruel in times of droughts and unpredictable in the rainy

  • 3. Ban All Advertising From The Tobacco Industry In 2001, there was an argument by the government of India trying to decide whether or not it was a good idea to ban all advertising from the tobacco industry. The government s main goal was to find a way to reduce the number of teenagers using tobacco. The government believed that these advertisements encouraged teens to start smoking or to continue smoking if they were doing it already. As expected, this situation created a lot of tension between the government and the tobacco industry. This created two sides: those in favor of the ban, and those against it. Those in favor of the ban argued that the government had the moral responsibility to make sure teens weren t smoking. They pointed out that tobacco causes millions of deaths every year, so it was important that the youth never started smoking in the first place. They also argued that the advertisements were too colorful or looked like cartoons which would get too much attention of children and, eventually, it would drive them to become smokers. The other argument that was made was that other countries had already done it, so India could do it as well. Finland, France, and Norway had implemented bans on advertising for tobacco products acting on what they believed was the best interest of their citizens. Part of the argument was that banning advertisements wasn t illegal, therefore, there was nothing to stop the government from implementing it. However, the government was warned that a ban like this would only work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking Importance of Communication Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of public speaking higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of Mental Health over 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is a sad statistic being that communication is the backbone of our society. It is what allows us to connect with others. Without communication skills, we would not be able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives. We, as a society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact, over 70% of our communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my interpersonal communication by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new standards in the way I communicate with others. In my personal life, improper communication has led to more than one situation that caused hurt to someone I love. Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of poor communication. Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I would say it would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be higher, but the fact of the matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public speaking. Being an extroverted personality often leads people to believe I would have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight is on, it is an entirely different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of people, I start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my palms get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of dread can disappear sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it went well) I feel a sense of accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride that comes with effectively communicating to your peers and being well received. My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to effectively communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will further my success in the competitive job market. The Charge of the Light Brigade and Attack Essay The Charge of the Light Brigade and Attack The Charge of the light Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson and Attack by Siegfried Sassoon are two very dissimilar poems. Both of them are on the same topic of war but have many contrasts in how they treat the subject matter, war. The main difference between these two poems is the audience that they were written for. Tennyson, as poet laureate, was written for public reading, but Sassoon s work which showed more emotion and feeling, was therefore more of a private poem. The poems tone and mood are very different. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While time ticks blank on their busy wrists. The language in the two poems is different. The poets use different literary terms. Tennyson begins his poem by using anaphora in the opening lines, Half a league, half a league, half a league onward. Anaphora is the repetition of certain words or words to obtain a rhythmic pattern. In this historic war, the men charged at the enemy guns on horseback, so this repetition in Tennyson s opening lines could be associated with the sound of galloping horses. Tennyson uses this again when he writes, Cannon to the right of them, Cannon to the left of them, Cannon in front of them. Tennyson also uses rhetorical questions in his poem, for example, Was there a man dismay d? and When can their glory fade? These are questions to which no answer is required, and add dramatic effect to the poem. Then he uses the phrase, The Valley of Death, to describe the valley in which the charge took place. This phrase is taken from the Bible ( Psalm 23). In other translations of the Bible ( The Good News Bible), it is translated as, the deepest darkness . Tennyson uses it with dramatic effect as if the men were ordered to go into the deepest darkness to charge down the cannons. During the Victorian period of history the Bible would have been important to the Victorian people and so the poem appealed to their cultural knowledge. Tennyson also uses other terms to ... Fitting And Installing External Bifolding Doors Fitting and Installing External Bifolding Doors External bifolding doors are perhaps the best and most affordable solutions when you are looking to bring a little extra light and warmth into your home. More often than not, the space in which you ll be installing these doors will also already be an existing aperture, so it s not like you ll need to get the sledgehammer out and take down the kitchen or living room wall! If you re reading this then that s something you probably already understand, as you re presumably considering installing a set of bifolding doors yourself. These doors will most likely either be installed leading out into your garden or patio from a kitchen, lounge or dining room area, so please take into account that, whilst you re working, this area will be exposed to the elements. • 17. Harms Of Social Networks On Society Harms of Social Networks While social networking does have value, it also has tremendous potential for negative influences in everyday society. The harm caused by social networking has skyrocketed over the last decade. There are no regulations to the content that can be posted or the immediate contact one can have with a stranger, leading to dangerous situations. This is a rising concern for the parents of young children as well as all who are part of social networks. The growing population has become overwhelmingly focused on the world of media and technology; most could not solve a simple math question, much less have a personal conversation with someone. While our schools are being downsized, the Facebook population is growing each and every day. A solution must be found before the doors of schools are closed, the interaction with one another face to face lessens, and the lives of teens with a good future are destroyed. There have been many solutions set up to overcome these obstacles, for example; blocking certain posts, privacy settings, and under age logs in denials. Fortunately, these have worked in some cases. The summer of 2010, Facebook shot up in their members with more than 500 million people. Even Twitter, where the posts must be 140 character or fewer has reached 140 million members (Clemmit 751). • 18. Pippin Analysis On Sunday, November 5th, I viewed the W.T. Woodson production of the musical Pippin. The script for Pippin was originally written by Roger Hirson and the music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. It was first performed at Carnegie Mellon University and later on Broadway. The Theo Ending, which was not part of the original production, was written by Mitch Sebastian. Although the production itself was excellent, I think the idea of Pippin was slightly better than the scripting. The concept of Pippin having a dual life could have been presented more clearly, and several points in the plot are seemingly nonsensical until much later after having watched the play. Some, such as Charlemagne s rebirth, still seem strange, unless you view all the characters as simply players trying to make Pippin s life more difficult so he goes through with the finale. However, this script does not present this idea clearly enough to notice this during the play. The scripting is almost insignificant and only allows for transitions between the songs, although, as a musical, this is not entirely unexpected. The songs were very well written and expressed the emotions of the character/s in consideration very well. The scripting often took away from these moments with vague, poorly put pieces of information that seemed to mainly serve as transitions. If looking at this as a plot map, instead of having a steady rising action, it goes up and down from interesting points (typically the songs) to less important, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

LGBT people have made outstanding progress on their goal to reach equality. For example, same sex couples now have the right to adopt children in all the states of America and thanks to President Obama, federal workers cannot be discriminated upon sexual orientation or gender identity (Clinton). Although the LGBT community has civil rights that should be protected, due to society s narrow mindedness, the LGBT+ community gets treated as second class citizens. When Shakespeare wrote plays, all the action took place on a small stage with little more than a painted wall to suggest the setting. He then summarizes the events of the novel, focusing on June and her dynamic with her motherand the rest of the Joy Luck Club. He talks about the stories told by each of the mothers, describing them as surreal and magical. He says that the formatting of the novel using all the different stories places the reader into the shoes of a Chinese immigrant trying to navigate their way to becoming more Americanized. He says that the novel could ve been written in a patronizing way or could ve been clichГ©, but because of Amy Tan s skills it was written beautifully (Schell). That too is an inescapable realization drawn from the premise of an infinite being. The Infinite cannot be one with just one of us. It must be one with every one of us. Each and everyone is one with the infinite One, God. If you doubt that Jesus came to this conclusion, then consider one question: Why did he say that when we pray we should pray to Our Father, rather than his Father? We are all one with the infinite One. I think that we must accept this premise because it is reasonable; but my insistence that others think and reason as I do would be unreasonable. Anyone can ignore the infinite One; they just can t be separate or apart from It. We can ignore our heritage, our inheritance and our inherent nature. Nevertheless it is with us, even thou we deny it. You can ignore reality, but it doesn t go away. One Reality The Apostle Paul wrote: In him we live, and move, and have our being [Acts 17:28] Jesus said: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. [Lk. 17:21] God would have to be very small to be within all, and very large to include all. However, to resolve these two extremes, God need only be infinite. Remember what Ralph Waldo Emersonwrote in his essay, History: There is no great and no small To the Soul that maketh all: And where it cometh, all things are; And it cometh everywhere. As a result, writers such as Arthur Miller, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and William Shakespeare utilized the concept of sacrificeto emphasize the important values of reputation, unconditional love, and loyalty. The Crucible, authored by Arthur Miller, captures John Proctor s sacrifices that ultimately emphasizes the value he places on his reputation. In an effort to preserve the only thing left for himself, Proctor exclaims to those around him that I have given you my soul; leave me my name (Miller 130). Once he was met with the realization... Although she was fully aware of the consequences that accompanied the affair, she considered love to be more valuable than her reputation among other individuals in the community. Yet again, Hester was met with another option to further sacrifice the reputation that had already been abandoned, when she exclaimed that I might endure his agony, as well as mine (Hawthorne 58). She held the identity of her affair a mystery to the outside world, which not only provided the man with protection, but it also defined Hester s idolization of love and endearment. Due to Hester s reputational sacrifice, Nathaniel Hawthorne used her forbidden relationship to characterize the rigid and punitive Puritan community of the colonial ... • 41. Equilibrium Reaction Lab Discussion In this experiment, the chemical reaction between aqueous iron ions (Fe3+) and aqueous thiocyanate ions (SCN ) reacting to form aqueous FeSCN2+ was observed.2 Since this process is an equilibrium reaction, it can also proceed in the reverse direction where FeSCN2+ decomposes to form Fe3+ and SCN . One of the initial starting reactants for this experiment was Fe(NO3)3, which decomposes to form iron ions and nitrate ions. The other starting reactant was KSCN, which decomposes to form potassium ions and thiocyanate ions. Although both decomposition processes involve their own equilibria, the equilibrium observed in this experiment was only the one between iron and thiocyanate ions to form FeSCN2+. All equilibrium reactions have a corresponding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, the relationship between the increase in Fe3+ and the increase in FeSCN2+ was used to determine Kc with the help of spectroscopy and mathematical manipulation of the equilibrium expression. The experiment started with a pure solution of KSCN. Knowing that KSCN decomposes into the reactant of interest, SCN , the 50 mL of KSCN was rewritten as 50 mL of 1.2E 4 M SCN since this value is written in terms useful to the experiment. After this, successive additions of 1 mL of 0.1 M Fe3+ was added to the SCN solution, mixed, and measured for absorbency at 445 nm. FeSCN2+ has a characteristic orange color, allowing for the spectroscopy of the resulting solution to be recorded since this color falls within the visible range capabilities of the spectrometer. Beer s law states that absorbance (A) is equal to the molar absorptivity (a) times the pathlength of the cuvette (l) times the concentration of the species in question (c) for an overall equation of A=acl. As more and more Fe3+ was added, the color became a deeper and deeper orange because more FeSCN2+ was being produced. Concentration is proportional to absorbance, so in theory the absorbance of the solution should increase with each 1 mL addition of Fe3+.2 Since the pathlength of the cuvette (1 cm) and the molar absorptivity remain constant, only the concentration of the iron causes variation in the absorption. Chilean Wine 9 503 044 REV: NOVEMBER 17, 2005 DAVID ARNOLD HOWARD STEVENSON ALEXANDRA DE ROYERE MontGras Export Strategy for a Chilean Winery In November 2001, Patricio Middleton, CEO of ViГ±a MontGras, a $7 million Chilean winery, was driving through the Colchagua Valley to meet American journalists from WineEnthusiast magazine. Looking at the endless vines that surrounded him, he wondered how those newly planted grapes would find a market. Chile, the world s 10th largest wine producer, had enjoyed an export boom in the 1990s and had grown to become the fourth largest wine exporter, its wines positioned mainly in the lower end of the fine wines price range. Nevertheless, the industry remained fragmented, with the largest player, Californian E J Gallo, accounting for 1.5% worldwide market share.1 The industry was also in transition at the consumer and distribution levels. Old World versus New World The Old World wine industry, centered on France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany, was characterized by long standing traditions of wine production, industry fragmentation, high levels of regulation from production to labeling and marketing, and strong domestic markets. Most Old World wines were made from a blend of different grapes and were named after the growing regions themselves, such as Bordeaux, Chianti, or Rioja, which resulted in considerable complexity of designation for example, the French regulatory system included 450 different apellations d origine controlГ©es (AOCs, or registered origin names). The Old World philosophy of wine production was based on the importance of terroir (terrain), which assumed that every vineyard was unique because of differences including soil, microclimate, topography, and the skill and practices of the winemaker. The New World wine industry, dominated by Australia, the United States, South Africa, Chile, and Argentina, was more concentrated and more focused on exports. In addition, the lack of stringent regulation in the New World had spurred innovation in production processes and a more scientific ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Your vehicle s transmission is what provides it with the power it needs to switch gears and keep you moving down the road. Summer driving activities can take a tool on your transmission, which is why you need to make sure that your transmission is working properly and has the fluid it needs to keep your engine cool. Summer Activities That Can Strain Your Transmission Many individuals use their vehicles for different activities in the summer months. These activities, combines with regular driving activities, can strain your transmission, especially when it is really hot outside. Your vehicle and your transmission... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steps To Take To Protect Your Transmission In The Summer In order to make sure that your vehicle can handle all of the conditions listed above, you need to make sure that the fluid is clean and full. You can do this by opening the hood of your vehicle and finding the cap to your transmission. Make sure you only open it when your vehicle is cool; the liquid inside your transmission can get very hot and could burn you if you open the cap when your engine is still hot. Look at the fill line and see if your transmission needs more fluid. Pull out the dipstick and examine the fluid. It should be a clear pinkish red color and it should not have any debris in it nor should it really have an odor. If is is a different color, has debris in the fluids, or smells funky, you need to take your vehicle in and have your transmission flushed. If the fluid looks alright, but the levels are a little low, all you need to do is top off your transmission fluid. You can purchase the appropriate transmission fluid and a funnel at a local auto parts store; just provide them with the make and model of your vehicle and they will find the correct transmission fluid for ... Thus, through cultre there is self discovery and belonging in a group of persons who share the same belief system; who have found themselves and are now seeking to digest more about one another through eachother s unearthing of one s self. Cultureassists you not only in identifying who you are, but the sort of people you can surround yourself with due to common interests. In this society; I have witnessed cultural unity, cultural identitycrisis and moreover a cultural divide and surprisingly all of those fold under the same umbrella in reagrds to knowing where you stand and those you choose to stand with. Currently, society is a huge caste system of choices to be made, opinions to be had and decision making. Often, many are questioned of whose side they are on awhile many don t have the opportunity to make that decision for they are often placed in a caste based off of appearances. This generation of millenials confuses the caste system with electronics being in the forefront of their upbringing; self discovery is no longer going to a park and playing with kids of similar interests on the playground; but now finding yourself is depicted by the amount of followers, likes and/ or views you possess.
