Has International Terrorism Changed Over Time
This article focuses on data of international terrorism compiled by institutions such as the RAND
Corporation, the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT) and International
Terrorism Attributes of Terrorist Events (ITERATES). The purpose of the article is to seek the
answer for the following questions: Has there been an increase in the raw number of international
terrorist incidents over time? Secondly, have individual acts of international terrorismbecome more
violent over time? Thirdly, has the frequency (annual number) of lethal international terrorist
incidents (a lethal incident is defined as leading to at least one death) itself increased over time?
And fourthly, what patterns other than time dependence (or independence)

the Holy Father, God. So therefore, Pearl believes she is someone of special significance, that
she s the single rose picked out of her Mother s garden and that she has no father, just Hester.
Undoubtedly, Pearl will be lost in the future by feeling betrayed from her Mother. Hester

The Invasion Of Japan Into China
The Japanese and Chinese have always had disputes with one another, and one of the biggest
reasons for the Chinese and Japanese hating each other is the Invasion of Japan into China. It began
with Japan invading and occupying Manchuria causing the hatred between the two countries to
grow immensely.
According to the New World encyclopedia, what made matter worse, was that China was at war
with itself, the war was between the Chinese Nationalist Party and the Chinese Communist Party.
Sun Yat sen dies in 1925, soon after, commander in chief Chiang Kai Shekof the National Army set
out on an expedition to the North. This expedition was an effort to exterminate the commanders of
the war and as well as feudalism. However, when a year passes, in 1926, the Nationalist Party had
divided into left and right factions where communism had begun to grow from the inside out. After
many disputes, on April 7, 1927, Chiang and other nationalist had decided to hold a meeting where
they had decided the communist were being socially and economically disruptive. They would then
join together in order to suppress them and keep the national revolution ongoing. Hence on April
12, Nationalist leader Chiang commenced an expulsion of the communist in the Shanghai area,
leading to the execution and arrest of hundreds of communist members. This became known as the
Shanghai Massacre , enraged, the communist would attempt to conquer cities such as Changsha,
Guangzhou, Nanchang, and Shantou. After many

Drug abuse has always been a very delicate question as it always it deals with the health, well
being and even lives of human beings belonging to any country. The position of the United States
of America towards drugs has always been very clear and distinctively negative. Throughout the
history of the country there were numerous cases against drug dealers, buyers and many more.
These cases did always catch the attention of civil people who by showing interest in such cases
revealed their worries about the future of their own children that one day might face this problem,

Summarizing the main point in the opinion of the case it is necessary to start from its very
beginning. The case was argued on the 28th of March 2001 and the decision was delivered on

The Oakland Cannabis Buyers Cooperative with Jeffrey Jones as a head started its life according
to California s Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and was started to follow medical purposes of
distributing marijuana to people that in accordance with their state of health qualify for it as a
treatment. This organization spent two years distributing marijuana to qualified patients until the
year of 1998, when it was sued by USA. The main point of the argument was that USA s
government charge of Oakland Cannabis Buyers Cooperative breach of the Controlled Substances
Act s and mainly its embargo for distributing, manufacturing, and possessing of the substance, as far
as marijuana is listed in the Controlled Substances Act. The activity of the Cooperative continued in
spite of the District s Court decision and its activity was very intense. The key issue presented by
the Cooperative was its medical necessity defense, other words they stated that all the marijuana
that was distributed by means of their organization was only distributed according to the medical
necessity of this substance by qualified patients. As it has been already mentioned the District Court

Oil In Vehicles
Changing the oil in a car is a very important thing. If you do not change it your vehicle s motor
could lock up. I am going to explain to you the process of how to change the oil in your vehicle.
There are a few things you will need to do this such as, a ratchet, oil filter, fresh oil, ramps, and
something to drain your oil into. The whole process is pretty simple if you follow these steps.
The first step is to open your hood. There should be a lever inside your door that will release the
hood. Once you get the hood open you will need to take your oil cap off of the motor for better
air flow. It is important to clean the inside of that cap so you do not get any dirt in your motor. You
wantto keep your motor as clean as possible. The next

Education During The 20th Century
During the 20th century, education in Tibetan society was not highly regarded due to the fact that
Tibetans did not view education as useful. Tibetans believed that their role in Tibetan society was
already determined, and there were no means of social or economic advancement. However, Palden
Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok, Tibetan males, challenge those notions by obtaining different
types of educationin distinctive ways. Palden Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok s actions allow
other Tibetans to realize that education is not confined to a single type of education as education
can range from religious education to an informal type of education obtained by various tutors, and
to a formal education obtained in a school. Palden Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok not only
share the need to obtain an education, but their attitude is similar. They knew that at times they
needed to be assertive and fight against the opinion and challenges administrated by their
authoritative figures, but they also knew at other times they were required to be submissive in
order to further their education. In addition, they face identical authoritative figures: parental,
religious, and educational figures, who challenge them. It is critical to note that Tashi and Palden s
stories, in terms of their education, focuses on the time period before the Chinese invaded Tibet. On
the other hand, Phutsok s story, in terms of his education, focuses on the time after the Chinese
invade Tibet.

Good Education Begins With Individuality
Good Education Begins with Individuality
Higher education is the crucial base for all the people who desire to further their education. An
ideal higher education should be able to open one s horizon as well as secure their hopes and
dreams for the future. An incoming freshman applies to multiple colleges based on different
qualities each university has. Some would mention quality books or well trained professors. Others
would lean more towards the aspect of once in a lifetime opportunities that only college can provide.
The perfect college environment is one with activities, lifetime opportunities, and a cultural
environment.

FASHION INSTITUTE of DESIGN MERCHANDISING is printed on its spine. It looks so
appealing that I believe people who have no interest in fashion would pick it up to discover the
content of this catalog. The catalog includes many photographs in vibrant colors, which feature
people from different races. From this, we can conclude that the college has a diversity of people
coming from different cultures, which is one of the criteria that every ideal college should offer.
The pictures from the catalog also feature the campus life, students products, meetings and the
facilities of The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Learning from the visual aids
provided by the catalog, we can see that the college is equipped with a lot of modern facilities,
something that college students always look for when they choose their colleges. After reviewing
the catalog from cover to cover, I have learned a lot of about all the programs being offered by The
Fashion Institute through the detailed descriptions. Moreover, the catalog also shows other aspects
of the Institute like internship opportunities, study tours all over the world,

least restrictive environment (LRE), which is when the severity of a child disability endure them

LRE setting is comparable to a regular classroom and meets a child educational needs, but a LRE

Taking a Look at Team Connor s Organization
FINANCIAL SUMMARY
As per our analysis of TeamConnor s financials we explored that the organization has been having
difficulty in maintaining a positive net income throughout the past three years. According to
TeamConnors financials, we observe that there is a misfit between their goals, stated in
TeamConnors Goals for the Future, and their financial capabilities. With the net negative income
over the past three years, TeamConnor has lacked in updating their goals to match with their current
financial standards. According to our projections, continuing at this pace with income decreasing
and expenses rising, we believe TeamConnor will be nearly $850 thousand in the negative. The
goals of awarding more grants with an annual increase of 46% through the upcoming years will not
be attainable with the current trend of income in the organization. With constantly growing expense
like salary, professional service expenses, and event costs, summing up to nearly roughly 45% of
total expenditures at an estimated growth rate of 30%, expenses continues to exceed the revenues
each year. With a negative outlook in the coming years with unrealistic goals, the change of
strategic orientation is obvious and urgent.

across some key issues that need to be addressed. According to the information provided, we believe
that currently the organization is having issues with focusing on their

The Ethical Treatment of Prisoners Essay
A Utilitarian View of Prison Labor Behavioral Impact of Prisoners
INTRODUCTION
The ethical theory of utilitarianism and the perspective on relativism, of prison labor along with the
relativism on criminal behavior of individuals incarcerated are two issues that need to be addressed.
Does the utilitarianism of prisoner s right laws actually protect them? Or are the unethical actions of
the international and states right laws exploiting the prison labor? Unethical procedures that impact
incarcerated individuals and correctional staff, the relativism of respect as people and not just
prisoner s; the safety of all inmates and correctional staff, are all issues worth continuous reflection.

Using their labor as means for profit is not ethically correct. I m not saying there is an easy
answer; it involves many facets of virtues well within the prison system and the individuals
themselves. Yet the utilitarian view of prison labor should not be a market of how many can
monopolize these prisoners for their own selfish profit and be a continuum of globalization.
Both private operation of prisons and the private use of prisoners labor, they are part of a broader
increase in the private subdivision involvement in the direct operation of correction facilities. This
is related in the process of globalization. In respect for a better understanding of the impact of

The Social Security System Is The Most Successful...
The Social Security system is perhaps the most successful government social insurance program
in the nation s history; and began with the Social Security Act in 1935. Social Security is a
needed federal system that encourages income stability to millions of people across the United
States. This is accomplished by giving a stable flow of income to replenish lost wages that occur
as a result of disability, retirement, or death of a family member. There are about 59 million people
in the U.S. that receive Social Security. Most of them are the required 65 years of age or older.
Sadly about half of the 59 million people rely solely on Social Security to pay their bills and
everyday necessities.

When the average MPC out of Social Security increases, the larger impact on the economy it will
have due to that income being circulated through the economy. Typically, those who have lower
income will be more likely to spend more of their income than higher income households. Also,
we see that generally those who receive Social Security to in fact have a lower income, and that
money is a large portion of that income. This will then lead them to have a higher than average
MPC. These lower income households will likely spend the income from Social Security on the
daily necessities, which impacts a different segment of the economy rather than if it was spent
on luxury or travel. Age is also a factor in Social Security as well as how it affects an individual s
MPC. Those who are older and have reached the point in time where they more likely to spend
their assets rather than save, usually have a higher MPC than the public. This is where we can
see that altering MPCs for the age of Social Security beneficiaries, as well as their income, would
have an increased effect on the economy regarding Social Security payouts (Koenig, G. AARP.,
Myles, A. Mississippi State University, 2013)
Currently, President Obama has chosen that Social Security restructuring should be handled in the
context of total federal budget and the problem of deficits and debt. In 2010, he created the new

Critically Assess the Strategy of Argos
Business strategy is a decision a company takes in order to create and maintain value by
coordinating business resources and finding ways to develop and capitalise on the organisation s
competitive advantages over a period of time (Grant, 2014). However, these strategies can be
affected either positively or negatively with a major decision such as mergers and acquisition or
political, social and technological factors. Hence, this essay will critically assess factors affecting
the strategy of Argos. Argos s strategy continues to be building a contemporary market leading
retail capabilities and a leading customer base through repositioning its digital business, maintaining
a lean and flexible cost base, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another way to assess the market for a business is through PEST analysis. Where PEST stands
for political, economic, social and technological factors which can influence a business strategy
(Grant, 2014). Political uncertainty fuelled by Brexit (the decision of the UK to leave the EU)
will affect the immigration status of some employees, with Argo s risk losing some of its
employees. A possible adjustment of trade regulations, federal minimum wage or requirement
for permits and licenses will impact Argos operations. For example, if companies must pay
considerably to sponsor work permit for their non UK employees or must carry out periodic
sustainability assessments (Business.hsbc.uk, 2017). The company will spend a lot of time and
money to comply with regulations, ultimately proving ineffective and will affect business aims
and objective. However, such regulations could prove useful in shifting manufacturing to the UK
and hence a supply chain that is robust and sustainable, leading to a more flexible cost base. In
an economic sense, the sharp drop in the value of the GB pound against the US dollars resulting
from the knock on effect of Brexit will lead increase in supply chain costs since UK retail is to a
large extent dependent on imports, most of which are purchased in US dollars, ultimately leading to
an inflexible operational cost

Working Principle Of The Hybrid Adc System
Working principle of the hybrid ADC system
AD cycle consists of four processes as shown in Fig. 4. These processes are: Isosteric heating
process (1 2): adsorption pair is heated without changing initial adsorbate concentration (C_i ).
Isobaric desorption process (2 3): adsorption pair is heated up with changing adsorbate
concentration from C_i to final concentration (C_f ). On the other side, the desorbed water vapor is
condensed in condenser releasing heat of condensation at condenser temperatureгЂ–
(TгЂ—_cond). Isosteric cooling process (3 4): adsorbent material is cooled down without changing
adsorbate concentration atгЂ– CгЂ—_f. Isobaric adsorption process (4 1): the adsorbent adsorbs
vapor at evaporator pressure P_evap. In this process, the adsorbate concentration is increased from
C_f to C_i and releasing heat of adsorption. The adsorbate is evaporated and producing a cooling
effect in the evaporator.

The Theory Of Energy, Order, And Disorder
The Theory of Energy, Order, and Disorder in the Military and in War
Brandon Rodriguez
Ramapo College of New Jersey
Abstract
The theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos can be applied to any and all aspects of life. This
essay focuses on applying this theory to specifically the U.S. military and when in war. The war
aspect in this application of energy, order and disorder will also include combat sports, as this
can also be seen as a form of warfare. Using research consisting of articles and the like, along with
interviews of those with firsthand experience, I hope to illustrate not only how the theory of
energy, order, and disorder is present in the United Statesmilitary and in warfare, but also how
these things are substantially more orderly than they are usually given credit for. Nonetheless, the
essay will also go on to explain that no matter how much effort expended in the hopes of
establishing and maintaining order, it is only temporary, and chaotic fallout is inevitable.
War is chaos. At least, that s what most people believe. And most people think this because most
of the time we are only invited to look at the surface, but what is war really? The everlasting
theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos is one that is proven true time and time again.
Whatever, or wherever it may be, the theory remains accurate. The axiom is as follows: energy is
required to establish and keep order, but a chaotic breakdown is the natural end

Pride In The Song Of Roland And Beowulf
Pride usually carries negative connotations. It is an arrogant, malicious trait which can lead to a
person s ruin. Pride, however, can also be a source of positive motivation. It can encourage its host
to perform great feats and thus obtain honor. This duality possessed by pride can be examined in
two famous Medieval poems, The Song of Rolandand Beowulf. The protagonists of both poems
suffer their demise because of their insatiable pride. However, in both works, this hubris is
perceived differently. Indeed, Roland s pride causes the death of the forty thousand men
encompassing the rearguard army, and yet no resentment is shown towards him. On the contrary, he
is buried and honored like a saint, the holiest of heroes. Beowulf disregards exhortations... Show

Heaven swallowed the smoke. (Beowulf, ll. 3151 55)
In this harrowing lament, there is no inherent sorrow for the loss of Beowulf s life. The pain felt
by the Geats is selfish and they have no other choice but to be selfish. They are completely alone,
left in a mortal coil of despair, without any sanctuary, hope or release. The sentence Heaven
swallowed the smoke is an allusion to this very idea, for Beowulf, now made smoke by the
crimson fire of the pyre, has forsaken his Geatland for the next life. This abandonment is a direct
cause of his stubborn, insatiable pride and the Geats are aware of this.
This resentment is apparent in the words of Wiglaf, who reflecting on the way Beowulf died,
says, Often when one man follows his own will, many are hurt. This happened to us. Nothing we
advised could ever convince the prince we loved... (Beowulf, ll. 3077 80) This is not the only
mentioning of the dangers of rigid arrogance, for the poet foreshadows the ruin that will befall the
nation due to Beowulf s foolish ego. While celebrating the defeat of Grendel s mother, Hrothgar
interrupts the cheerful mood of the feast and warns Beowulf of pride and callousness. He gives
his own experience with Grendel as a testament to the horror such arrogance can cause not only to
one s self but one s people. Obviously. Beowulf does not follow the exhortation, and not only does
he meet his demise, but ensures his people s end as

Gold Mining By Saudi Arabia
Far into one of Saudi Arabia s mud fields, which is measured to be greater than five soccer fields.

Google Human Capital Essay
Human resources and human capital are different. Human resources management is the function by
which the human capital is guided and directed. As previously stated, human capital is made up of
the knowledge and skills that people possess. When a company hires an employee they are
essentially leasing the talent that the individual owns. The company does not own the employee,
their skills or abilities. Human capital emphasizes valuing people that work for the companies as
assets; employees that add to the value of the organization, and when efficiently managed
contributes to the overall success of the company in terms of employee productivity and
contribution. The role of human resourcesin valuing human capital is mainly to figure out ways to
attract and recruit the best people, find ways to make them better at what they do and bring the best
out of them.
Google appears to be a great organization to work for. As a company that thrives from the
creativity and innovation of people, they really seem to put forth an effort towards creating an
atmosphere in which the talent or human capital has an opportunity to flourish. It is quite clear
that Google will not hesitate to go to great lengths to promote a fun and inclusive environment
where the workers, or as they prefer to call them smart creatives , are able to feel like they matter.
They have decided to stay away from the traditional aspect of corporate America and chose to

Advantages Of Exercise Machines
When it comes to training and working out in the gym, we all have our own personal favourite
exercises and/or pieces of equipment for training. There are some people out there that
absolutely adore treadmills and pieces of cardio equipment, whilst there are others that can t

some like leg press machines, the list can go on and on. If you really want to start an argument
and watch people get especially heated however, get a group of fitness enthusiasts together, and
ask them whether free weights are better than isolation machines. Some people will swear that

Memorable Villainy In Othello
The concept of villain brings to one s mind as one who is opposite to the hero, creating difficulties
and hurdles for the latter to overcome. A literary villain, on the other hand, is one who is
unchanging with regards to his goals unless an overwhelming force, physical or psychological
compels him to do so. In subtle villainy, the villain is cunning, crafty, intellectual, malicious and
harmful. Rather than merely waiting for a tragedy to happen, subtle villains would have developed
a clear plan based on a definite objective in mind and would ensure the progress of their plans by
devising appropriate strategies, ensuring proper timing, evaluating continuously at various stages

In his argument he mentions the debate about artificial insemination, which raised social and legal
problems. The sperm donor might be the husband or just an anonymous man, but whether the
husband or not, the sperm donor was never approved to be the legal or proper father as the
reproduction procedure was not taken place naturally. In fact, it was recommended to be made as
a criminal offence in 1948, by a commission set up by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Therefore
the child born from this procedure has an ambiguous status, or considered illegitimate. It is then
made obvious that the husband of the woman, who raised the child, still has no rights or duties
over him/her. These rights, in some way, belongs to the sperm donor, such that if the mother
registers her husband to be the father of the child, even if he is not, she would be, of course,
committing a crime as only if the husband is genetically the father, would he be considered
legitimate. Some who are against this procedure is particularly against for the reason that the
husband would have not played his role in the procreation of the child, therefore considered as a
bad thing to do. Although such objections were raised, the committee of Warnock still remained in

Nervous Condition When Things Fall Apart

Nervous Condition When Things Fall Apart African traditions, values and customs have been
slowly influenced by colonization and eventual globalization that has turned the world into a
global village. The novel, Things fall apart, is a reflection of the extent to which Africans were
tied to their beliefs and customs, as a violation of those customs was regarded as being
disrespectful to the gods. The new values and beliefs brought by the missionaries are resisted since
the communities regard them as inclined on disrupting the norms that hold the community together.
The novel Nervous Conditions is a reflection of colonization effects on Africans identity and their
state of mind; Dangarembga speaks the voice of an oppressed female from postcolonial Africa,
and in male dominated society. Achebe s regains the voice of Africans and defends their humanity
despite their nervous conditions of living in a dual world that can ruin one s self identity and state
of mind.
Things Fall Apart is an example encompasses the life, nature, and traditional culture of Africans.
Chinua uses Okonkwo, a fierce and champion fighter, to show how Africans led their life with
regards to the way they observed traditions, lived in harmony with each other and worked hard to
provide food for their families. For instance, when the gods desire the life of Ikemefuna, the village
boy whom the Umuofia village had been given in a debt settlement

Theme Of Relationships In How Many Miles To Babylon
The theme is essentially the fundamental message of a text. The narratives I will explore have a
one theme in common, the theme that I found most intriguing, that of relationships. In How Many

predominant; we are introduced to the character of Alexander Alec Moore, a character with no real
relationship. The destructive relationship with his parents has affected the relationship he has with

ultimately inspiring as I will discuss in this essay. Similarly in The King s Speech, (TKS) a film

Fifa s Corruption Of Soccer Games
Envision attending a game of your favorite sports team, already knowing who the winner of the
match. How fun would that be to watch? Whether you are betting real money on the game or not,
the game would be boring to watch. The possibility of this attending such a scenario does exist for
the FIFA world cup provided that FIFA
s corruption is allowed to keep manifesting. FIFA, also
known as the FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association and the governing body of
soccer, who creates and outlines the rules of the games, is suspected of corruption and it could
potentially harm the quality of soccer games. If this happens, the social and fun aspect of the
world cup would be entirely diminished. Think of if this happens to your favorite sport. You re
throwing a barbeque party celebrating the superbowl, and you know the Patriots are going to win
this year. Not because you believe in their skill but because it has all been staged. This leads me to
my main point, if FIFA s alleged corruption continues to knowingly grow and something isn t done,
it will hinder the prestige the FIFA World Cup
. While some may argue soccer has become an
important part of many countries history and FIFA has become too big to fail, if matches become
more about bribes, politics, and personal bias in a game where outcomes should be decided by
skill, people will lose interest. You might think that this doesn t matter and it is only soccer. But in
reality, FIFA s corruption is hurting people too. Did

Analysis Of The Film Sing Street
Finding fulfillment in life requires people to truly understand their reality and is only achieved
through an effort to grow out of one s comfort zone. This idea is explored in the film Sing Street,
directed by Jim Carney. The film follows the journey of Conor Lawlor, a shy schoolboy who gets
moved from a private school into a strict Catholic school due to his parent s financial situation. At
Syng Street he is bullied by another student and his principle. A turning point occurs when he falls
in lovewith a mysterious girl. After a desperate attempt to gain her phone number, he starts a band
with a group of outcasts from his school. Throughout the film, Carney suggests the idea that to
fulfill one s happiness, a person needs to make an effort to take a riskand push beyond their comfort
zone, and while doing so they also need to gain a sense of confidence in their identity. It is
necessary to grow beyond hindering beliefs to achieve a new perspective on life to lead to
happiness. In the beginning, Carney demonstrates that a person who is anchored by demotivating
beliefs can ultimately compromise their happiness. This is seen in the establishing shot where
Conor is in his room and his parents can be overheard arguing about their mortgage and their
distaste for each other. Conor is unable to focus on his romantic lyrics instead he sings their
conversation out loud. This scene reveals that Conor is negatively impacted because the only topic

Candide, a Novel by Voltaire
Candide Essay Voltaire was a philosopher that many people would not forget. Candide lives in the
castle of Baron Thunderten Tronckh in Westphalia. The circumstances that Candide was born was
that he combined a true judgement with simplicity of spirit. Voltaire satirizes the optimism
espoused by the philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment. This was a story of a young man s
adventure throughout the world and had seen many evil and disasters. Throughout his journey, he
sticks to the teachings that Pangloss taught him, believing that, All is for the best in the best of all
possible worlds. Though Voltairewas no pessimist, he refused to believe that what happens is
always for the best. Throughout Candides adventure, Candide was got tricked into joining the

the second technique that the uniformed men was that they were complimenting on his height

Is the International Criminal Court unfair towards African Nations vis Г vis Western Nations?
On October 12, 2016, the parliament of Burundi, a country located in the Eastern part of Africa

earlier, Gambia and South Africa announced their intention to withdraw from the ICC, and this

The Impact Of Dutch Imperialism In Indonesia
The Dutch trade of commodities influenced Indonesia s economy in the way that they introduced
land tax, made trade routes, and printed money. The Dutch first implemented land tax by telling
farmers to give them one fifth of what they harvested ( Colonial Period of Indonesia. ) This
system was called the cultivation system. After the farmers gave one fifth of their harvest they got
a fixed amount of money that has no relation to the value of the crops. The Dutch and Javanese

The Dutch provided clean water, modern medicine, and education ( Dutch Imperialism in
Indonesia ). This education, however, was only for males, and females couldn t access education.
The cultivation system that was previously mentioned in the previous paragraph meant that if the
villagers increased production, then they would get more money. This led to the Javanese
villagers trying to increase production by reproducing so that there would be more people in the
family (Muhlberger). This led to overpopulation in Java. Before the Dutch didn t use the
cultivation system, but instead they forced the villagers to farm for them or else they would
punish them. The Dutch may have influenced Indonesia positively, but from what the author
thinks he thinks that the Dutch influenced Indonesia negatively. The Dutch bringing their
technologies for water, medicine and education was positive socially, but the cultivation system,
and forcing the villagers to work for them was not a good thing socially. Overpopulation made it
harder for people to share resources equally since there is over 1000 people every square kilometer
(Java). There is a considerable social distance between the rich and the poor in Java. This is
evident in Jakarta, as there could be a high class housing, then a few kilometers away there are
slums.

How Does Chaucer Present The Skipper In Canterbury Tales
Hardy he was, prudent in undertaking is how Chaucer describes the Skipper (also known as the
Shipman) in the Canterbury Tales. He views the Skipper as excellent, smart and obtaining
dispatch by describing him as hardy in the prologue and by having him tell a tale about a monk
sneakily seduces a rich merchant s wife, without him ever finding out. The Skipper was an
excellent fellow. From years of sailing, he became tan and wore a dagger on a lanyard which
hung from his neck. He ignored the rules of conscience and rode a farmer s horse as best as he
could, The summer heat had tanned his color brown, and certainly he was an excellent fellow.
The Skipper certainly seemed like an excellent fellow because he had a moral sense. He did all he
could do, only looking to satisfy himself rather than what other people may think.... Show more

He knew where all of the retreats and shelters were, from Gottland, all the way to the Cape of
Finisterre. As well as shelters, he knew where to find streams of water in Britain and Spain. The
name of his canal boat was The Maudelayne. And he knew all the havens as they were, from
Gottland to the Cape of Finisterre, And every creek in Brittany and Spain; The barge he owned
was called The Maudelayne. From this, we can infer how smart the Skipper was. Although he
knew his way around for when we was on his boat, he had a back up plan just in case his boat
were to be destroyed he would find the nearest shelter. To tie in to the Skipper being smart, he
displayed great dispatch. He dealt with his opponents quickly and efficiently. As for his skill in
reckoning his tides, currents, and many another risk besides, moons, harbors, pilots, he had such
dispatch that none from Hull to Carthage was his match. What we can understand from this, is that
because he was so skillful with estimating when tides or currents would occur, no opponent would
be able to defeat

The Hard Facts Of The Grimms Fairy Tales
The four themes that Maria Tatar argues in her book The Hard Facts of the Grimms Fairy Tales
are 1. Rise of national identity and culture 2.Dissolution 3. Political and religious refugees and 4.
Change in technology. With all four of these being relevant to the time, it sets up the importance of
the remake of the fairy tale. We have to look critically at where we are and where we are going
because of our pop culture and politics.
While some may argue that fairy tales have become less important to society as we are advancing
in technology there are some that still strike important meaning to this day. Fairy tales in this day
have often become associated with 1) Disney and 2) princess culture. And while there is nothing
wrong with these, in fact I am a huge fan of both of them myself, as a result many other fairy tales
have been pushed into the background. One such fairy tale is The Emperor s New Clothes,
originally written down by Hans Christian Andersen in 1837. This tale is able to examine how
social media is changing our interactions as well as talk about the political climate in which we
now live in. This then makes it the perfect candidate for a modern remake movie. The american
public is the becoming the emperor as we lose sight of what s really import by social media
consumption, while the current political climate is the people who are promising to make us robes.
(target is millenials and gen z, they need to identify with the emperor, trajectory of change) The

Adult Attachment Styles By Mary Ainsworth
Adult Attachment Styles The attachment style that an individual exhibits as an infant can affect
their adult romantic relationships. An attachment pattern is established in early childhood
attachments and continues to function as a working model for relationships in adulthood. This
model of attachment influences how each of us reacts to our needs and how we go about getting
them met. The ability to recognize one s attachment can help someone to understand their strengths
and vulnerabilities in a relationship. Psychologist, Mary Ainsworth, provided the most famous body
of research offering explanations of individual differences in attachment. She devised as assessment
technique called the Strange Situation Classification to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an adult people with dismissive avoidant attachment have the tendency to emotionally distance
themselves from their partner. They deny the importance of loved ones and detach easily from
them. They can shut down emotionally and are able to turn off their feelings. Preoccupied
/ Ambivalent Attachment occurs because parents are inconsistently available to the child. This
can result in a high degree of attachment seeking behavior, mixed with angry feelings. As an
adult, people tend to become clingy and demanding toward their partner. Instead of feeling real
love or trust toward their partner they look to their partner for a sense of safety and security by
clinging to their partner. They often feel unsure of their partner s feelings and unsafe in their
relationship. Unresolved / Disorganized Attachment the child has an unusually high level of fear
and might be disoriented, which can be caused by a traumatic event such as a parent s death or
abuse. A person with a fearful disorganized attachment lives in an ambivalent state of being afraid
of being both too close to or too distant from others. They tend to be mixed up or unpredictable in
their moods and experience emotional storms. The attachment styles and close relationships

The Discovery Of The Soft Drink Coca Cola

drink Coca Cola was an accident. In the year 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, a pharmacist by the name
of John Pemberton was trying to create a type of medical syrup with the purpose of help those
with fatigue, anxiety, and oral illnesses. Along with his assistant they added ice to the mixture and
deemed the concoction tasty enough for the public. With the growing demand the assistant

state of quality and growth. The company prioritized the people that they are associated with be
that the consumers or employees and set out to make their environment a great place to work. The
company not only holds concerns for its employees but also the planet as a whole as they
consistently take part in helping any community that they happen to be associated with by creating
numerous charities and funds in order to benefit those in need.

The Invasion Of Japan Into China The Japanese and Chinese have always had disputes with one another, and one of the biggest reasons for the Chinese and Japanese hating each other is the Invasion of Japan into China. • 7. Education During The 20th Century During the 20th century, education in Tibetan society was not highly regarded due to the fact that Tibetans did not view education as useful. Tibetans believed that their role in Tibetan society was already determined, and there were no means of social or economic advancement. However, Palden Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok, Tibetan males, challenge those notions by obtaining different types of educationin distinctive ways. Palden Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok s actions allow other Tibetans to realize that education is not confined to a single type of education as education can range from religious education to an informal type of education obtained by various tutors, and to a formal education obtained in a school. Palden Gyatso, Tashi Tsering, and Phutsok not only share the need to obtain an education, but their attitude is similar. They knew that at times they needed to be assertive and fight against the opinion and challenges administrated by their authoritative figures, but they also knew at other times they were required to be submissive in order to further their education. In addition, they face identical authoritative figures: parental, religious, and educational figures, who challenge them. It is critical to note that Tashi and Palden s stories, in terms of their education, focuses on the time period before the Chinese invaded Tibet. On the other hand, Phutsok s story, in terms of his education, focuses on the time after the Chinese invade Tibet. Palden ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Typically, those who have lower income will be more likely to spend more of their income than higher income households. Also, we see that generally those who receive Social Security to in fact have a lower income, and that money is a large portion of that income. This will then lead them to have a higher than average MPC. These lower income households will likely spend the income from Social Security on the daily necessities, which impacts a different segment of the economy rather than if it was spent on luxury or travel. Age is also a factor in Social Security as well as how it affects an individual s MPC. Those who are older and have reached the point in time where they more likely to spend their assets rather than save, usually have a higher MPC than the public. The Theory Of Energy, Order, And Disorder The Theory of Energy, Order, and Disorder in the Military and in War Brandon Rodriguez Ramapo College of New Jersey Abstract The theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos can be applied to any and all aspects of life. The war aspect in this application of energy, order and disorder will also include combat sports, as this can also be seen as a form of warfare. This duality possessed by pride can be examined in two famous Medieval poems, The Song of Rolandand Beowulf. The protagonists of both poems suffer their demise because of their insatiable pride. However, in both works, this hubris is perceived differently. They are completely alone, left in a mortal coil of despair, without any sanctuary, hope or release. The sentence Heaven swallowed the smoke is an allusion to this very idea, for Beowulf, now made smoke by the crimson fire of the pyre, has forsaken his Geatland for the next life. This abandonment is a direct cause of his stubborn, insatiable pride and the Geats are aware of this. A literary villain, on the other hand, is one who is unchanging with regards to his goals unless an overwhelming force, physical or psychological compels him to do so. In subtle villainy, the villain is cunning, crafty, intellectual, malicious and harmful. The sperm donor might be the husband or just an anonymous man, but whether the husband or not, the sperm donor was never approved to be the legal or proper father as the reproduction procedure was not taken place naturally. In fact, it was recommended to be made as a criminal offence in 1948, by a commission set up by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Therefore the child born from this procedure has an ambiguous status, or considered illegitimate. It is then made obvious that the husband of the woman, who raised the child, still has no rights or duties over him/her. These rights, in some way, belongs to the sperm donor, such that if the mother registers her husband to be the father of the child, even if he is not, she would be, of course, committing a crime as only if the husband is genetically the father, would he be considered legitimate. Nervous Condition When Things Fall Apart Sarah Albanawi Dr. Kristin Sovis English 205 June 22th 2016 Nervous Condition When Things Fall Apart African traditions, values and customs have been slowly influenced by colonization and eventual globalization that has turned the world into a global village. The novel, Things fall apart, is a reflection of the extent to which Africans were tied to their beliefs and customs, as a violation of those customs was regarded as being disrespectful to the gods. The new values and beliefs brought by the missionaries are resisted since the communities regard them as inclined on disrupting the norms that hold the community together. The novel Nervous Conditions is a reflection of colonization effects on Africans identity and their state of mind; Dangarembga speaks the voice of an oppressed female from postcolonial Africa, and in male dominated society. FIFA, also known as the FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association and the governing body of soccer, who creates and outlines the rules of the games, is suspected of corruption and it could potentially harm the quality of soccer games.
