Over the past few months crews have trained, travelled and competed at the
Australian University Rowing Championships, in Perth and had great success across
regattas in the CDRA. In particular NUBC showed their strength and versatility at the
CDRA Sprint Champs, where we claimed the highly competitive Linwood Throsby
Gift.
Further exciting news, we have been lucky enough to have Tony Blay volunteer his
time to coach members of NUBC. Currently Tony can be found out at the sheds on
Saturday squad mornings, where he coaches members of all different experience,
from social novices through to our more competitive members.

place. The MO8+ composed of Newcastle s James Pacey and NUBC athletes Zac
Lochrin, Matthew Meisenhelter, Damon Mills, Anthony Mujic, Jason Nissen, Tim
Trethowan, Cody Shaw and Cox Kate Eliza David placed 2nd. Similar results
followed with the Mix 8+ of Ingrid McKellar, Kate Eliza David, Alex Frost,
Shantelle Lindsay, Matthew Meisenhelter, David Webb, Zac Lochrin, James Wilkins
and cox Liz Johnston also taking out 2nd place to UNSW. Unfortunately the wind

PROVIDING FEEDBACK
Feedback can be of a positive or negative nature. We generally don t like giving
negative feedback because it may be construed as being nasty or insulting. Also, we
find difficulty in receiving and handling negative feedback because of the possible
effects upon our self esteem.

The Aeneid Betrayal
A major theme throughout book 4 of The Aeneid is the idea of love.This theme not
only deals with love, but the betrayal of love. Two sisters, Dido and Anna, both feel
betrayed respectively. Dido feels betrayed by the man she loves, Aeneas, when he
leaves her for Italy and also Anna by the untimely death of her sister. While these
sisters feel this betrayal by a person they loved, Anna is the more justified in her
feeling of betrayal because of the love she had for her sister and had right
reasoning for her betrayal. The bond that these two sisters had is one reason for
Anna s justification. The bond of siblings is a strong one. Like Paris was to Oenone,
