Abstract
Throughout this experiment we looked at basic principles of DC circuits and electrical currents by
measuring the voltages and currents in simple currents. We used Ohm s law R=V/I and R=E/I and
the values of current and voltage to find the resistance of an electric circuit. We also found that the
SI unit of volt are Joules/Coulomb and that power is measured in Watts.
Questions and Answers
1.State the equation for Ohm s law. What do the variables V, I, and R stand for, and what are the
units of each? Of the units listed, which one is equivalent to coulomb/second?
The Ohm s law is R=V/ I where R is resistance which is measured in Ohm s, V is voltage in the

portrays Afghanis for being uneducated, sheltered, and driven by religion. Throughout the book
there are examples of Afghans that deserve empathy, but one page stood out from the rest: page
176. It displays Bassir Khan s businessmen and bodyguard sitting unamused in the first panel, with
the follow up panels of them leaving Didier in the room. The first panel in specific represents
both the humanitarian and sheltered themes of the book. What is most interesting about the first
panel, is the image itself confirms racial ambiguities. The men shown are of darker complexions,
which is perceived as being inferior to whites. On top of that, it confirms that non whites are
violent, as one of the men are holding a gun. They are all men, wearing turbans and hats and worn
down jackets. Peering at the first panel makes readers think Lefevre failed his mission to humanize
Afghanis, but a closer look at the narrator s block tells another story.

Terrell did retire to a really nice retirement community. His decision to retire from his work as an
Athletic Trainer was largely based on his deteriorating health. His job had high physical
demands, whether it was carrying injured athletes off the field and always carrying heavy
medical kits. Especially with his arthiritis worsening, even performing simple tasks has become
very difficult. He was also facing some pressure to retire and he believed it was due to ageism,
discrimination based on age (pg. 412). His employers had less confidence in his competence and
ability to carry out his job considering he was very old. Eventhough, as people age their muscle
fibers shrink thereby decreasing strength, he exercised daily and was on healthy diet, which
would slow down the decline (pg. 415). He was very proactive in maintaining his shape and
strength which was a requirement of his job, but his health problems were dampening his efforts.
