2. Music Industry Research Paper
Music Industry: Independent vs. Major Record Label
Music is at our fingertips. We can turn on a radio or select a song on a menu and it
chimes back at you the melody of the song you selected. A man named Scott de
Martinville of the 18th century was fascinated by the way photographs preserved
images, and he felt as if he could do the same with sound. The invention of the
phonograph was the beginning of the music industry. Musicians could now use a
machine to record their sounds and then publish and dis tribute records. With records
came record labels, the leaders of the music business. Then just like everything else
in a capitalist country it became all about the money, rather than the music. The
business aspect of music should be based off of independent artistry in opposed to
corporate wel fare.
Ludwig van Beethoven one of the most talented, prolific, and remembered
composers of all time was an independent artist. One has to wonder, how did
composers/musicians make their money 150 years before labels were established?
Beethoven used the same methods as an inde pendent artist would today. He would
do live performances on piano or composing a large or chestra. These performances
would bring profit while expanding popularity just like modernized artists. Beethoven
also found profit in selling his sheet music, patronage, and being an instructor. This
was the unintentional start of independent music, and it continued to be this way
until one man decided to industrialize the
3. Examine and Assess How Political Order Is Made and
Repaired
Examine and assess how political order is made and repaired.
In this TMA I will examine and assess how political order is made mainly through
the state. In order to create, maintain and repair political order, the state needs
authority from its citizens to do so and this authority needs to be legitimate.
Legitimacy refers to a belief in the states rightness, its right to rule or the idea that its
authority is proper. I will then explain how today, legitimacy is closely linked to
democracy and it is through free and fair elections that the state receives legitimacy.
The degree to which individuals legitimise the state is varied and individuals or
groups of people can also engage critically with the state.
Creating political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way citizens can legitimise their relationship with the state is through citizenship
ceremonies however most citizens do not attend such ceremonies.
Many of the everyday practises and discourses of the state, its discourses, its symbols
and the ways in which state actors and institutions represent themselves to the people,
are involved in the process of legitimation; that is to say, the states claim of
legitimacy from its citizens. So through peoples everyday practises and activities like
paying taxes or taking the car for an MOT individuals are involved in the making and
remaking of the state. This is another way through which people legitimise the state.
However, one of the main ways individuals express their acceptance or rejection of
the state is through the ballot box. Elections provide a means for people to question
and reflect on this or that government policy, the adequacy of this or that
government agency, or the talents and policies of this or that party, candidate or
official. Today we would see free and fair democratic elections as the main, if not the
only, reasonable indicator of whether people have given express consent to those who
hold state derived power over them.
Its possible to see that state legitimacy is closely linked to democracy. This is
because through democracy the state claims legitimacy to rule over people in a
certain territory. Democracy is a form of political order few dare to oppose (Sen)
even if they
4. The Issue Of North Korea
The majority of the people who live in the United States and elsewhere around the
world, have no idea the extent of freedom we have in comparison to some. Living in
North America, where freedom runs through the veins of our constitution, it is hard
to imagine a world more restrictive than our own. Things that we take for granted,
such as access to the internet, are not available under the same circumstances in
North Koreaas they are here. North Korea is the number one most censored country
on the planet, and their strict limitations placed on Internet usage accounts for most
of that ranking, is commonly referred to as a media monopoly and a mosquito net,
because of the intense control over the information that goes in and out of the country.
The current leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, with the help of the former
leaders, have completely re programmed the Internet as we know it in order to
make it virtually impossible for their citizens to gain outside information. The
country is filled with propaganda, even in places where it s citizens least expect it.
For example, something as subtle as the font size of Kim Jong Un s name is
different. Anytime Kim Jong Un s name is mentioned online, the font of his name is
slightly bigger than all of the text around it. Similarly, instead of a computer screen
reading the year 2012 it reads the year 101 which represents the number of years
since the birth of Kim Jong Il Sung, the country s former leader. The government is
5. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Research Paper
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome When it comes to the reproductive system there are
a book full, from A to Z of diseases that affect both men and women. Some
genetically inherited, and others that are sexual transmitted, and of course those
that are so rare you can see the name of them and ask yourself, Wait, what? because
of the more then difficult spelling of the names of the disease and the areas that the
diseases affect or their symptoms, they can be quite a shock to some. Now, there
are a few diseases of the reproductive system that are also very common, but are
found in woman only. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is one of those diseases.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome also known as PCOS affatreround 5 million women
in the United States alone; among those women affected are girls as young as 11
years old. This disease primarily affects women who are in their childbearing ages.
PCOS, although is being researched, is still unknown on how something like this can
happen. However researchers believe that because there is usually a high level of

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome occurs when the ovaries produce more androgen
hormones or male hormones than progesterone hormones or the female hormones.
When there is a high level of the androgen hormone this decreases the release of the

signs of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, that is infertility or the inability to get
pregnant, in which PCOS is actually the leading cause to women with infertility,

6. Aiding In Racial Profiling
Racial profiling occurs when a police officer selectively focuses on a person s race
where the harass, detain, or arrest the individual (Cooper,2001). Racial profiling is a
serious issue that has gone rampant in the united states today; people being scared to
do everyday activities because of their raceis terrorizing and they culprits should be
look at as terrorist. The government system is not set up to benefit the minorities, the
iron triangle is a connection of groups that are placed to try and benefit the people,
but sometimes they only benefit themselves and people alike. Aiding in racial
profilingis an institutionalized form of terrorism and needs to be stopped at the
source, and these are the steps we should take. In the case of the Milwaukee Bucks
basketball player John Henson who was just trying to buy some jewelry he
experienced racism. Henson was going to a jeweler to buy some merchandise and
wasn t allowed into the store because he store workers felt intimidated. Henson was
a 6 11 millionair basketball player that looked scary to the store workers, so for the
workers to protect themselves they locked the doors and ran to the back of their
office where the employes proceed to call the police. When the police arrive at the
scene they have to suspect that Mr. Henson was dangerous in some way due to the
description given, the police officers were able to asses the situation and confirm that
Henson did not mean any harm. The profiling of Henson was

Tsunami
There are many types of natural disaster that are quite deadly (earthquake, tornado,
volcanic eruption, etc.). Out of all natural disaster that ever occurs on earth, I believe
that tsunami is by far most interesting one out of all. The reason why tsunami is very
interesting is because it can be triggered by many causes (earthquake, volcanic
eruption, underwater landslide, fall of a large mass, etc.) On this research paper; I
will explain what exactly is tsunami, the 2004 Sumatra tsunami, and how to predict
tsunami.

by the displacement of water, unlike normal ocean waves which are created by ...

around 500,000 people have lost their homes in Sumatra (around 15000 died in
India). The aftermath report reported that around 190,000 people are dead with
40,000 to 45,000 either missing or presumed dead. Even though billions of dollars
of humanitarian aid have been used to help all the effected region of the tsunami
disaster, some areas still have not recovered from this disaster. In 2011, an
earthquake registered at the magnitude of 9.0 9.1 hit the coast of Tohoku Japan (it
is recorded to be the most powerful earthquake ever hit Japan). The earthquake
caused a giant tsunami waves with the highest waves measured at the heights of
133 feet. Despite of Japan s precaution plan of Tsunami attack, the damage that the
tsunami and earthquake did was very severe. The tsunami walls that Japan created
around the nuclear plant has no effect because it is not a big as the tsunami waves
thus resume the damage that the tsunami has set its eyes on; multiple infrastructure
damage, nuclear plant damage, and severe nuclear plant radiation leak. It is
estimated that around 15894 people are dead, 6152 are injured, and 2562 people are
either missing or presume dead. In 2015 September 16, an earthquake registered at
the magnitude of 8.3 hit the offshore of IL lapel and Chile. The tsunami waves

8. The Ability For An Educator
The ability for an educator to produce a safe learning environment should not take
years of chaos and turmoil to find solutions to behavior problems in the classroom.
The availability of researched based information found on the internet is only seconds
away. Professional learning communities are available to assist in such matters, yet
persistent discipline problems end careers for many young teachers. Polat, Kaya, and
Akdag (2013) stated teachers new to the educationsystem leave the profession within
their first three years of employment. What can be done to stop the outflow of
educators leaving the field as the inflow of students continues to increase? Educators
must be reflective teachers in order to change practices that fall short... Show more

I believe the improvement of my students is attributed to the improvement of my
skills in the above mentioned areas of classroom management.
Even though improvement has been made, there is still more work to be done. Two
areas that need improvement deal with peer mediation techniques and forming
successful partnerships with parents. The first seldom happens and the latter happens
with less frequency I had hoped for in finding support for student learning and
behavior. One example where peer mediation would be effective is conflict between
students arising from something done or said to them. For instance, a child
approached me to say someone hit them when in fact the other child was trying to
remove a bug off the accusers back. This misunderstanding or miscommunication
consumes time away from instruction and does not empower children to solve
conflicts correctly on their own. Another area I want to focus on is establishing more
partnerships with parents. Even though I did establish a handful of partnerships by e
mailing parents activity pictures of their child throughout the year, I feel much more
can be accomplished. The quality of such a relationship as reported by Gurland and
Evangelista (2015) predicts the outcome of future achievements. Thus, the following
are SMART goals created to strengthen the areas pertaining to peer mediation and
parent relationships. By September 5, 2016,
9. Electronic Medical Records In Healthcare
Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are used throughout the hospital where I
work. An EMR has led to many improvements in having access to medical records,
in a timely manner. When a patient registers in the Emergency Department, I can
see how many visits they have had. I can see all records, including past medical
problems, allergies, test results, and a list of current medications they have filled at
a Pharmacy. This is very useful when the patient omits information. It only takes a
few steps to input protocols. An EMR decreases the risk of losing information or
having to wait on records from the Medical Records Department. Additionally, the
EMR allows Physicians to easily compare lab values from different visits and track a
trend. EMR s have become a valuable tool in Healthcare.... Show more content on

are at immediately sent for a Cat Scan (CT). If the patient has a brain bleed they are

patient has Neuro deficits with the absents of a brain bleed, we use Tele Neurology.
With Tele Neurology we use a Computer on Wheel s (COWs) and dial directly into
the Neurologist on call. The Neurologist can watch at the Nurse completes a
Neurological Exam and obtain a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale

of the findings from the exam. Then the Neurologist consulted then can make
recommendations for treatments. With this technology, we can better take care of the

11. Silence And The Avoidance Of Persecution
Silence and the Avoidance of Persecution
In the film Silence, the characters of Kichijiro, Rodrigues, and Ferreira illustrate the
idea that a person s outward actions fail at conveying their inward beliefs.
Throughout the film, Kichijiro consistently claims that he is a Christian but then
denies Christ whenever serious opposition arises. However, the film uses the
discovery of Kichijiro s crucifix at the end of the film and his continuous declarations
to Father Rodrigues of, Forgive me Father for I have sinned, as a method of
suggesting that even though Kichijiro outwardly apostated many times, he still had a
strong faith on the inside. Moreover, the character of Rodrigues extends the film s
theme through the line, Even if God had been silent my whole life to this very day
everything I do, everything I ve done, speaks of Him, and through his possession of a
crucifix when his body underwent cremation. The aforementioned quote and the
possession of the crucifix illustrate that even though Rodrigues committed the act of
apostasy he never truly apostatized in his heart. Finally, when the fallen priest
Ferreira mentions to Rodrigues, Only our Lord can judge your heart, it evidences that

12. Safe Childbirth
Childbirth is oftentimes described as the miracle of life . It is typically a time of
immense pride and joy; many claim the birth of their offspring was the best day of
their lives. Unfortunately, however, this exuberant experience is not a memory to
be fond of for hundreds of thousands of women in developing countries. Liberia is a
prime example of how grim the reality truly is. According to Yulia Widiati from
Unicef, Liberias maternal mortality ratio is one of the highest in the world, with
1,072 maternal deaths for every 100,000 births (ADD CITATION). This doesn t even
include the hundreds of infantdeaths that take place every year as well, just the
mothers. These numbers are excessively high when considering how far modern
medicine and science has come.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The root of the problem lies in paucity of education and supplies. Young girls need
to be educated on safe sex practices, and women need to be sufficiently
knowledgeable on how to properly deliver and care for a baby. This means before,
after, and during the birth. In addition to this, it s almost impossible to create a safe
childbearing environment without specific medical supplies and equipment.
Thankfully, with new leadership in the country the numbers are gradually beginning
to decline. Be that as it may, the path to correct this issue is still long and rocky; they
need our help. In order to further mitigate the high numbers of maternal and infant
deaths in developing countries, we need to donate not only supplies, but our time as
well. We need to send volunteers with donations and plans to educate women and
young girls on pregnancy, delivery, and safe

14. Benefits Of The Military Essay
Military Benefits: Lasting Beyond a Lifetime
The military is shrouded with images of hand to hand combat, blood, gore, and
depression; but what of the other side of the story? It is known that over millions of
men and women have joined the military, but is a bold passion for your nation the
sole reason to join? The answer is no. There are numerous benefits to joining the
military aside from the privilege to serve our great nation. These benefits range from
the pay, financial assistance, free education, character refinement, to good retirement.
The military is not notorious for its ability to pay in abundance; however, after
considering the additional payments that the military offers, the pay may seem more
appealing. Just like with civilian employees who get paid more depending on how
long they stay with an employer and the duration of their education, those in the
military are paid in the same way. For instance, officers in the military are required
to have an extended education depending on their path, while those who are enlisted
are only required to at least have a GED. Hence, a commissioned officer ranked as an
O 8 who has served for 2 years is paid roughly 10,487.70 dollars a month, while an
enlisted member who has served 8 years and ranked as an E 8 is paid roughly
4,136.10 dollars a month. This is only basic pay though, the military also offers
special pay for those with specialized or hazardous jobs, and allowances. Military
allowances are given to those in service

Rothko was well accepted in the New York art community, but experienced limited
success during this time. Needing to add to his income he took a position at the
Center Academy instructing sculpture and painting and maintained this position
from 1929 to 1952. As Rothko advanced in his painting style he began to
metamorphose from using imagery and symbolism to using colour fields.
Typically his paintings feature large rectangular expanses of colour arranged
parallel to each other, usually in a vertical arrangement. The edges of these shapes
are softly uneven, giving them a hazy, pulsating quality, and they seem to gently
hover or float over the canvas. The paintings are often very large and the effect
they produce is generally one of calmness and contemplation, but in spite of their
tranquility, they cost Rothko enormous emotional effort: I m not an abstract

interested only in expressing basic human emotions tragedy, ecstasy, doom and so
on. And the fact that a lot of people break down and cry when confronted with my
pictures show that I can communicate these basic human emotions...The people who
weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience as I had when I

In Australia the judiciary system is a key aspect to uphold peace, order and a good
government. The Australian government is ruled by a separation of powers; the
parliament, Executive and the judiciary. These powers are a significant feature of the
Australian system of government as the power to change and make federal law is
divided between these powers (Parliamentary Education Office). The judiciaryis a part
of the government which delivers justice according to the law (Queensland

The doctrine of precedent is when judges are deciding cases they must look at past
judicial decisions especially when cases have similar facts, this means that judges
may have to seriously consider the reasoning of judges in past cases even if they
are not bound to do so (Harding 2013). The precedent is a legal rule or principle
that determines the outcome of the case, to be binding the precedent must be
determined if it is relevant to the case by identifying the ratio decidendi; the reason
for the decision (High Court of Australia 2006). Obiter dicta; By the way , is not a
binding precedent however, can be used to determine the outcome in future cases

doctrine of precedent and the law however the judiciary can exercise power by
using precedent to achieve justice on cases (Harding 2013). The doctrine of
precedent constitutes critical assistance to judicial decision making, the precedent
provides both stability and flexibility in developing common law (Ellis 2013). Some
constraints on power of the judiciary could include the strict rules of the precedent
which could lead to an injustice on individual cases another constraint is the amount
of cases reported each year, this could make it difficult to find relevant precedent and

The ancient Roman Colosseum is perhaps the most astonishing wonder in the history

the Colosseum began with the Roman Emperor Vespasianwho overtook the Emperor
Nero to gain control of the Roman Empire. Much like Nero and other emperors
during his time, Vespasian developed a reputation for conveying harsh punishment

Roman architecture, the project served as learning experience and benchmark upon

Incredibly the construction of the Colosseum concluded just eight years after it began

the enormous size frame of the Colosseum stands to serve as a testament to the power

Undifferentiated marketingThis type of marketing views the market as one group with
no segments therefore using a single marketing strategy. Undifferentiated marketing
generally involves targeting the whole with one product and an undifferentiated
marketing can be cheaper that other strategies because there is only one product to
produce. This strategy utilizes a single marketing mix to reach the maximum number
of consumers in the target market selected.
Differentiated marketingHere the marketing strategy targets different market
segments with specific marketing mix, which is designed to meet those segments
needs. Differentiated marketing strategy involves the preparation and communication
of different brand and product messages to different types of customers.
Concentrated marketingThis type of marketing focuses on selecting a particular
market. This strategy can categorize the company into a single product. Concentrated
marketing is famous for small firms because mass distribution, production and mass
advertising are not necessary these firms can achieve profit with limited resources.

Retrograde Amnesia Ever wondered how it would feel like to start from scratch in
life? How it would feel like to not remember anything or anyone? Retrograde amnesia
has caused many people to lose their memory all over the world. Retrograde
amnesia is [1] a specific type of amnesia where a person is unable to recall events
that have occurred in the past prior to the amnesia taking place. In the example of
Jason Bourne from the movie The Bourne Identity it is shown that he has had a
complete memory loss of his past which is known as pure retrograde amnesia.

Such fine motor skills are not affected by amnesia and are recalled instinctively.
Amnesia only affects the storage of memory in the brain and does not affect any
other cognitive functions. Retrograde amnesia may cause several signs and
symptoms in a person such as confusion or even false recollections. Besides these
symptoms the person is perfectly able to understand and communicate with the rest
of the world. The only problem is that the person cannot recall information from his
past but he is still able to form new memories. Amnesia has no treatment currently
but there are a few methods which help retrieve the lost memory of the patient. An
occupational therapist helps the person to learn the information which was once

With one click of a button, technology has allowed the world to communicate with

the way of communication, for everyone. Globalization and connectivity through
technology has allowed for friends and family to visually communicate with each

The internet creates an alternative way for family and friends to visually

Although the concept of outsourcing is highly controversial in the United States, in
the long run, technology has helped word wide businesses save a great amount of
money by outsourcing jobs internationally. Many businesses outsource jobs related to
customer service and have employees from various countries speak on the phone to

Sound technicians work in a variety of different areas, from television advertisements

34. The Use Of Bioactive Restorative Materials With A...
Extensive research has been taking place in generating bioactive restorative
materials with a potential for remineralization. [1] Bioactivity refers to apatite
forming ability [2] while biomineralization is the ability to get anchored to the
underlying dentin by the formation of a mineral rich interfacial layer and a tag like
structure extending from the interfacial layer to the dentinal tubules. [3] Biodentine
TM (BD) (Septodont, Saint Maur des FossО№s, Creteil, France) and TheraCal LC
TM (Bisco Inc, Schamburg, IL, USA) are calcium silicate based bioactive liners that
are proposed as alternatives to glass ionomers (GIs).
The use of bioactive liners beneath resin composite (RC) would clinically be more
advantageous than using GI liners as they are biologically well tolerated by the pulp
tissue [4] and have comparatively higher remineralizing ability. [5] The success of
these laminate restorations depend not only on the bond strength of the liner to the
dentin but also on the quality of bond between liner and overlying RC. Various
studies suggest the application of resin modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC)
instead of GI in the sandwich technique because of improved bond strength to RC
due to its chemical bonding. [6],[7] The bond strength of RMGIC to RC varies
depending on the type of adhesive used and it has been proved that self etch is better
than total etch. [8]
Biodentine TM (BD) is recently being used as a dentin replacement material under
composite restorations.

Both men were shot by a doctor in the Capitol building, and both survived initially

All this mystery suggests that the Inspector is not a real person. I think this is
where the pun on the name Google comes in. In my opinion, Priestly has used the
inspectors name in reference to the word ghoul , suggesting that the inspector is an
enigmatic, supernatural force of some kind. I also believe that the inspector could
represent something else; like an entity such as God, the world s conscience or even
Priestley s ideas and opinions on his 1912 society.
The Inspector himself adds drama to the play, he controls the pace and tension by
dealing with one line of enquiry at a time. Slowly the story of Eva s life is
unravelled, like in a whodunit . He is in command at the end of Act I and the start
of Act 2, and the end of Act 2 and the start of Act 3. Altogether he is a brooding,

powerful, important person in the room, capable to manipulating the other people to

Knowing how music affects heart rate can allow athletes to choose the correct music
to make them more motivated and energized during their training sessions enhancing
their performance and improving their competitive results; in addition knowledge of
what genre of music could decrease their performance and times is equally important
(Roth, 2013). It is important to know if the music has the ability soothe ill patients in
hospitals as it may reduce their heart rate to in turn reduce their stress and
discomfort levels (Edelson, n.d.). Knowing how music affects heart rate will allow
people who suffer from stress, anxiety and/or disorders such as insomnia (abnormal
inability to get enough sleep) to slow down their heart rate to relax and go to sleep
easier and faster (Barnett, n.d.)
The aim of this project is to determine the effects that rock and classical music have
on the heart rate of grade 11 girls.
Rock music will speed up the heart rate while classical music will slow down the
heart rate of grade 11 girls.

Julie McNamara Professor Zhang English 123 February 22, 2016 A Relationship
to Relativity and Success: JCK Analysis To the untrained eye, a ring is just a piece
of jewelry. There is little to no appreciation for how its made or how valuable it is,
just as long as it glistens and glows. To jewelers, the untrained eye is a menace, as a
man buying an engagement ring will not care about the carats or the uniqueness of
the piece, as long as it looks like Beyonce s. While jewelers are making pieces with
unpopular gems and metals at excessive prices, salesmen struggle to sell these, as
what is popular is what sells. To combat this wave of uninformed, trend obsessed
consumers, Jewelers Circular Keystone, a trade magazine whose audience is jewelers
and salesmen, features content relating to the current status of the jewelry industry,
as it changes seasonally. Keeping up with the times is imperative when working in
jewelry, and as time changes so must JCK. In this trade magazine,... Show more

becomes apparent that jewelers should learn the trends in same sex engagement

couples, as retailers who do not make an effort to connect with LGBT consumers are
essentially sacrificing a chunk of... revenue, (Vesilind, 84). This is highly effective in
making JCK relevant and valid amidst the jewelry community, because modernity is
crucial to relativity, and relativity is imperative to success. The writing style, on a
side note, is near unchanged from that of 2008. Written as an article, JCK emulates a
newspaper and is to the point and informative, containing occasional charts to cite
within their writings. This is also helpful, since, thinking of the demographics,
jewelers tend to be creative and therefore are more visual than

The show Gentle Strength is an event includes ten dances. These dances were
choreographed by the dance majors in the dance department.. This event took place
in Santa Ana College at the Phillips Hall. All the dances had a different style and
also their costumes.. Every dance turned out amazing and the dancers just danced
marvellous. I was really impressed with all the dances, but two really stood out to
me. There was some that I really did not understand or just lacked something. Even
though all the dances were amazing, there was one that inspired me and one really
did not inspire me. The dancethat really inspired me was Diazepam, choreographed
by Catalina Leon. I really liked how she did a dance about her anxiety because many

Since Teen suicideis the second leading cause of teenage death in the United States,
there is a need for legislation that promotes awareness and education about Cyber
Bullying. Due to the growth of technology in the American society, the younger
generations of adolescents are adapting to the excessive use of computers, cell
phones, and social networking sites. According to a study done by Amanda Lenhart,

The most common is Mean Girls cyber bullying which has been seen in the case of
Tina Meir who committed suicide at age 13 (Billitteri 385). Mean Girls refers to
the type of cyber bullying in which is usually performed by a group of young girls
looking to have fun in the act. The group girls most often want others to know who
they are and what they are doing in order to feel powerful. Research has shown that
females are almost twice as likely to be involved in cyber bullying either being a
victim or perpetrator. The second category would be Inadvertent cyber bullying
which consists of role playing. The perpetrator may not realize they are cyber
bullying, yet they interpret their offensive and cruel remarks through a joking
manner. The next category is somewhat similar in the sense that the bully may not
realize that they are virtually cyber bullying. Vengeful Angel refers to an
individual who is defending themselves or others from an attack, which ultimately
leads them to becoming a cyber bullying as well. The last category can be similar
to the school yard bully, which is the Power Hungry bully. This category refers to
those who may be victims of bullying themselves. A Power Hungry bully wants to
feel powerful and control others through their cyber bullying. Overall experts say
that it is most common for the perpetrators to be classified as popular student with
self esteem who are trying to bring others down by placing
44. Modernist Movement In Architecture
The influence of a building on the identity and emotion of a place is not something
an architect or developer can impose onto a people. It is created in a course of time.
This is why most buildings have made it in the history books, not only because the
intention was meant, but also because they were able to bring different reflections to
a people they were built for.
Architecture refers to the production of objects, buildings, a task performed by the
people. The most successful architecture goes beyond functions, enclosure, or rather a
big envelope for living.
Even though the buildings as an individual exhibit different architectural properties,
collectively they have been able to tell a common story with respect to their design,
construction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no consensus among Architectural Scholars about an exact and
comprehensive definition of the term Modern Architecture also referred to as
Modernist Movement. With some Authors Modern Movement is considered to mean
social and aesthetic innovation using state of the art technology and rejecting the
values of continuity and traditions or rather to shape the present and the now.
Another common feature the buildings shared was the use of latest technological
advances during their time of construction. Most of the buildings were constructed at
a time when reinforced concrete was discovered and with reinforced concrete, they
were built. Some were constructed during the time curtain walls were put to use in
construction and curtain walls were certainly installed in the buildings.
When a building is set to be constructed, the design team which is led by the
architect plans for how the spaces of the building would be (in terms of their location,
size and functionality). After this initial planning is done, the design is then
presented to the client of whom he or she would agree or disagree. In most cases, the
client usually has a few rectifications and the design team usually rectifies them
before the project is being tendered for construction. After tendering, the contractor
begins to construct the building project with accordance to the drawings provided to
him by the design
45. The Destructive Nature of the American Dream in F. Scott...
The concept of the American dream has been related to everything from religious
freedom to a nice home in the suburbs. It has inspired both deep satisfaction and
disillusioned fury. The phrase elicits for most Americans a country where good things
can happen. However, for many Americans, the dream is simply unattainable. In F.
Scott Fitzgeralds Winter Dreams, Dexter Green, a hardworking young man born into
the middle class, becomes wrapped up in his pursuit to obtain wealth and status in his
life. These thoughts and ideas represent Dexter s fixation on his winter dreams, or,
the idea of what the American Dream means to him: gaining enough wealth to
eventually move up in social class and become somebody, someday. As Dexter
attempts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Dexter s life is unintentionally controlled by these dreams, he does not
realize that he is being driven toward material success. He is unaware that these
dreams are leading him to fall in love with the woman who stands at the core of his
materialistic fantasies. His complete focus in life becomes geared toward gaining
the love of a beautiful woman who expresses the glamour and promise of the
exclusive world (Perkins). Dexter begins to strongly believe that Judy Jones is his
key to unlocking the world of the rich and wealthy. By illustrating the luxurious
lifestyle of Judy Jones, Fitzgerald reveals how she represents, to Dexter, what life is
like for the rich and prosperous. As well as representing the upper class lifestyle,
Judy, through her beauty and manner, represents Dexter s dream of obtaining a
higher status that he has wished for ever since he was young. After passionately
kissing Judy and realizing that the
color and the mobility of her mouth gave a continual impression of flux, of intense
life, of passionate vitality, he discovers that he had wanted Judy Jones ever since he
was a proud, desirous little boy (Fitzgerald 1013). This life and passion that she
presents shows that she offers more than just wealth, but beauty and love as well.

46. Factors Affect The Chemical Rate Of A Chemical Reaction
Introduction:
Enzymes are a protein that replicates a catalyst which helps chemical reactions
begin to move without the enzymes being changed in the process. Enzymes work to
complete only one task. But there are a variety of different enzymes in the body that
each one has their specific task to complete. Something that enzymes do is they are
used in making foods, used for digestion. Many of the chemical reactions in the body
have a bunch of energy in them when they happen, which means it can occur in a
faster amount of time. Enzymes speed up a reaction by lowering the activation energy
. An inhibitor makes the reaction slow down. In this experiment we are testing how
three factors affect a chemical reaction. We will be representing different objects or
materials as the enzyme. We will use three objects or body part: a taped hand, a hand
with a tennis ball in it, and a rendered hand. The importance of this experiment is to
see how three different elements affect the chemical rate of a chemical reaction.
Materials and Method:
In this lab we needed supplies to help us conduct this experiment to make it
successful. The materials we used were 100 pennies, which represent the substrates.
We also needed a hand to help us represent the active site. The person in this
experiment was the enzyme. The tennis ball in their hand is represented by second
enzyme we were testing. We used tape to help us with the third enzyme trial. We
used a stopwatch to help us record how long we had to

C.S. Lewis and the World of Wonder The Story Behind The Chronicles of Narnia
Raindrops splashed against the glass; but Jack stared past them, far beyond to the
Green Hills. So beautiful. So unreachable. Jack was born in Ireland in 1898, before
most people had cars. They had no televisions and no radios. The world was big
and wonderful and mysterious. Jack s real name was Clive Staples Lewis, but he
didn t like that name. Would you? He picked the name Jack. He made everyone
call him Jack. If someone called him Clive, he would not answer. When Jack was
six, his family moved. The New House was huge, with empty rooms, long
hallways, and dusty attics. Imagine exploring a house like that. Jack also liked
exploring books. His mother and father loved to read, and they saved all their
books. They filled the New House with books books in the study, in bedrooms, and
on the stair landing, books in the attic piled up to Jack s shoulders. Oh, the splendid
hours he spent reading! On rainy afternoons these books transported him to different
times and different worlds. Jack made up his own country called Animal Land. The
animals wore clothes and talked and ruled the land. Jack s older brother Warnie
wrote stories about India with trains and steamships. Jack and Warnie combined their
countries into one country called Boxen. They wrote about Boxen together. Then
Warnie left for a boarding school in England. One hundred years ago, when Jack was
a boy, many parents did not
48. The Pros And Cons Of Hans Asperger And Leo Kanner
Many people who don t know what autism is would think that it s a new issue in
modern society, but it has become far more predominant today compared to
previous years. The term autism comes from the Greek word autos , meaning self .
The word autism was first used in 1908 by a swiss psychiatrist named Eugene
Bleuler. He used it to describe a schizophrenic patient who had withdrawn into his
own world. However, the innovators into autismresearch were Hans Asperger and
Leo Kanner. While they were not working together, they were both doing studies
during the 1940s. Leo Kanner, an American child psychiatrist, started by studying
the behaviors of 11 children. What he discovered in their behaviors are both pros
and cons. The pros are that they had good intellectual potential and can recollect
things relatively well. Nevertheless, the cons are difficulty in socializing, adapting to
change, repeating words, just to name a few. Kanner referred to their condition as
Kanner s syndrome, which was later named Early Infantile Autism. Similarly, Hans
Asperger also studied a group of children that mimicked Kanner s descriptions. One
thing that s different from Asperger s research compared to Kanner s research is that
the children he observed did not have echolalia as a linguistic problem because they
spoke like young adults. Additionally, Hans did mention that the children he
evaluated were clumsy and had difficulty with fine motor skills. Hans Asperger
described the milder form of autism
