Motivation and features for Microfluidic and Lab on a chip
Lab on a chip is the main platform of Microfluidic technology. The computer chips miniaturize the
size of computer, Lab on a chip miniaturize the size of laboratory. In the past, chemists required a long
period of time and a large amount of sample or reagent to complete the analysis or synthesis.
However, using a square centimeter size chip instead of those large analysis instrument not only
reduces the consumption of resource but also shortens the experimental time. In addition, because of
these miniatures, the sewage emissions are also reduced. In other words, it is a kind of green
technology.
With the research and development of microfluidic chips, it has many unique characteristic features.
First, the chip material becomes diversified from those expensive glass and silicon materials to PDMS
(polydimethylsiloxane), PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate), PC (polycarbonate) and other polymer
materials allows a high degree of flexibility, while the cost are continually decreasing [2]. Second, the
manufacturing processes are more precision by using automatic and numerical controlled sub UV
laser to produce a smooth microchannel instead of hand based MEMS (microelectromechanical) [3].
Third, the components are highly integrated in a small chip including pumps, valves, channels,
reactors, etc. [3]. The fourth point is the precision drive technology mainly using fluid power,

Pagan Culture on Campus: Pantheon (The Pagan Advocacy Club) In September of 2015, freshman
Dakota Niswonger brought a new club proposal before the Student Government Association (SGA) at
Flagler College. He proposed the Pagan Advocacy Club, a club created to allow on campus pagans of
Flagler College a safe place to discuss their beliefs and practices, as well as educating the general
public about the practices and beliefs of various forms of paganism (Pantheon Facebook Page, 2015).
On October 26, 2015, Pantheon officially became an on campus club. Currently, Pantheon meets
weekly to discuss various aspects of the Pagan faith, plan how they will proceed within the
community in bringing about awareness of Paganism, and discuss how they can communicate with

Relationship Between Milk Market Participation
In this chapter, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder
households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. Our data show that household
income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101 versus 49 birr
daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned by selling raw
milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into butter and
cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant households
than in non participant households.
This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household. Milk
income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract with the milk
company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by women. The
consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in our data. In milk
market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day, whereas in non
participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases. Women tend to earn and
control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per day), but earn only 4 birr
milk income per day in market participant households.
The central goal of the current study was to find out what the consequences of this change are for the
bargaining position of

Theatre Personal Statement Essay
What got you interested in Theatre?
My interest in theatre started when I was living in Spain. My parents started a theatre company with
other military and US teachers. From the ages of 4 9, I got to play small roles or work backstage on
plays ranging from Shakespeare to Neil Simon. Where did you study and how long did it take?
In Undergrad, I majored in theatre and opera. Immediately after graduating I continued my studies in
theatre and opera performance in graduate school. The overall time in University was 7 years. After
Graduate school, I continued to train as an actor in NYC for three years at Terry Schreiber Studios.
How about your time on television, how did it differ from your theatre experience?
Having an understanding of Stanislavski s concentration exercises and the magic as if made it much
easier to focus acting to fit the lens. The other difference between film and TV is the order in which
the story is revealed. In a play, we start at page 1 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have many favorite memories, but here are two. When I was working on CYRANO DE
BERGERAC at the Walnut St. Theatre. The profoundly talented actor, Alan Scarfe was playing
Cyrano. Every moment I wasn t onstage, I stayed in the wings to watch his performance; particularly
the last scene where CYRANO dies. Oh, the simplicity of delivering heightened language and pure
emotion he was able to conjure!! Some of the best training I ve ever had.
The second memory was when I was cast in a National Tour of SHLEMIEL THE FIRST. The super
star here was the director, David Gordon, whom I had the privilege to work with several times after
the tour. David Gordon is one of the best movement based directors I ve ever worked with. He was a
master choreographer for the actor and could get a room full of people with different skill sets to
create stunning moving images. Also, I got my Equity Card from this tour and was cast in the

Manuel Puig
The Kiss of The Spider Woman by Manuel Puig is centered on gender.
The notions of gender are Masculinity, and Femininity. They are argued by Manuel Puig as he
reverses the traditional ideas of male and female using Valentin and Molina, in order argue against the
idea that women were weak and men were strong. With the use of Valentin, a protester who carries all
masculine traits used in order to symbolize the traditional societal ideology of manhood and
masculinity. Also, he creates Molina, a homosexual put in prison for corrupting minors, in order to
portray the traditional female.
However, throughout the novel Puig deconstructs these roles in order to show the true persona of both
Valentin and Molina.
For instance, when Valentin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That being said, he has a feministic view of society. Moreover he views his relationship with Valentin
rather well as he considers himself to be the submissive female that transforms into the manipulator,
that tricks Valentin into eating the prison food, so that he can intentionally take care of him. However
Puig is making the reader realize that Molina is enduring an internal struggle. The struggle is that
Molina is stuck between telling the Warden the information that he is trying to get from Valentin, yet
insisting that Valentin tell him nothing of his political life. These combinations create the angst within
the character and the ultimate suspense of the piece as a whole. Perhaps both Valentin and Molina are
seeking to escape by explaining the movies they recall. The movies that Molina tells Valentin reveals
so much about Molina as he tends to cry each time he goes into the romantic part of the documentaries
because Molina lacks love in his life as he is trapped within himself. However when he offers his
body, so that is he free from this entrapment is when he makes love with Valentin. This shows us how
similar Molina s persona is to that of a woman. The similar trends between Molina and a woman is
best reflected when he talks about the love story of Leni. Leni betrays her own country because she
lacks love from a man. Leni turns into a powerful woman when she backstabs the soldier that was
once on her side.

Deep Brain Stimulation
Parkinson s disease is a severe movement disorder that affects 1% of people aged 60 or over (Samii,
Nutt, Ransom, 2004). However, no cure has been found for Parkinson s disease so far, while different
treatments have been constantly trialed to mitigate the disease. Deep brain stimulation is a
neurosurgical intervention that has been used in the treatment of movement disorders including
Parkinson s disease over the past three decades. Although it is has been widely used in clinical
practice, the safety and efficacy of deep brain stimulation are still being debated.
The author believes that deep brain stimulation is not an effective treatment for Parkinson s disease
and that it still requires further investigation and examination. In this paper, the author discusses three
main issues of deep brain stimulation in the treatment of Parkinson s disease. Firstly, deep brain
stimulation may lead to negative effects on patients cognition, emotion and behavior. Secondly,
implanted hardware devices increase the risks of surgical complications of deep brain stimulation
operations. Thirdly, long term effects of deep brain stimulation are still unclear and controversial.
Firstly, negative side effects may be induced by deep brain stimulation operations. Deep brain

Bigfoot Description
On 10 August 2001 at about 3.00pm, the sun was shining and there were only a few clouds on the sky.
I decided to go out for a walk, so I took my car and drove to a big forest in Schouweiler. There are no
streets near the forest, so I walked about 1 km to reach it. After an hour I was deep inside the forest so
I decided to go home. But suddenly I heard a little noise. I turned around, but I didn t see anything. A

Essay about Social Phobia or Just Shyness
Social Phobia or Just Shyness
As pharmaceutical companies began advertising on television several years ago, many prescription
drug advertisements flooded the airwaves. One such drug was for the treatment of social anxiety
disorder, also called social phobia. In investigating the causes, symptoms, and treatment of social
anxiety disorder, I found that while drug companies and some researchers have hailed the unveiling of
a drug for social anxiety as an important step, others feel that the disorder is poorly defined and its
prevalence is exaggerated. Therefore, the following questions emerged: how did the diagnostic
category of social anxiety disorder come about? How much of the disorder is rooted in cultural views
of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disorder typically begins in childhood, and the National Institute of Mental Health estimates that
3.7 percent of 18 to 54 year olds in the United States have social anxiety disorder, with women
diagnosed twice as often as men (1). Although researchers are not completely sure of the biological
basis of social anxiety, some believe that its basis may lie in the amygdala, a small portion of the brain
that controls fear response. NIMH scientists have also found a possible genetic component: through
research on mice, they have found a gene that relates to fearfulness (1). Additionally, hormones may
play a role, specifically fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels in women (4). Environment
may also be important, as people with social anxiety may learn the behavior from watching and
patterning those around them (1). Treatment may include the use of medications such as selective
seretonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), monamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and beta blockers
specifically for performance phobias. Individuals may also benefit from behavioral therapy, which
involves gradual exposure to feared situations (1).
However, some believe that the category of social phobia or social anxiety is not so clear cut. For
example, the diagnosis of social anxiety can be difficult because of its co occurrence with

Maintaining A Career As A Bartender
Working as a bartender can be a very fulfilling career for people that like a fast paced and personable
job setting. Unfortunately, it can be a hard environment for many people recovering from alcohol
addiction. If you have a career as a bartender, but are trying to beat alcoholism, you don t need to feel
helpless: there is a strong chance you can keep your career while in recovery. Is It Possible?
Maintaining a career as a bartender during recovery is possible, but it isn t necessarily easy. You re
obviously going to have to utilize out patient rehabilitation care, as opposed to in patient. Out patient
centers let you live at home, attend work, and live your life like normal. You ll still have to attend
regular meetings and detoxify, but there will be no one to guide you through the process. For many
bartenders, this will be a major challenge, but it can be incredibly liberating for others. Being able to
maintain a normal lifestyle may help give them the motivation they need to live a sober life.
Remember: in an out patient program, you are your own boss and are in control of your own actions.
The only person you have to answer to is yourself. In fact, for many people recovering from an
alcohol addiction, going back to work as a bartender can serve as an important personal challenge.
Being surrounded by alcohol and drinking will certainly test their self control, and many people will
relish in the chance to prove to themselves that they are more than capable of

Representation Of Male And Females
There are typical representations for both males and females. Usually the well known representation
of a male is to be strong, manly and brave. The typical representation of a female is to be loving,

the representation of each males and females has changed. More and more males are taking on the

Summary Of Jeanne Duprau s Car Trouble
Book Talk Assignment
For my Realistic Fiction Book Talk assignment I have read the realistic fiction book Car Trouble
written by Jeanne DuPrau.
This book takes place all throughout America as Duff, the main character, drives from his hometown
to the other side of the country in California. Duff has recently been given a job offer in Silicon Valley.
Duff is ready to go and is willing to, his parents, on the other hand say that instead of diving straight
into a job, Duff should go to college instead. Duff argues that he will get paid a large amount of
money and will be working on something he loves. His parents give in and Duff sets off to drive
across America. Of course, for Duff, nothing goes as planned. After the first 100 or so miles, ... Show

This is because there were many things I thought were exceptional. However, like any book, some
elements of this book could have been better. A factor of this book that did well was characterizing
Duff the way he is. For example the author tells us It sounds like a bunch of machines screaming at
each other... I thought you said this was music . It is to me (DuPrau 77). Here we get a great sense that
Duff loves computers because of this detail that shows that Duff likes listening to computers for
music. Another great component of this book is that the author did a great job of describing in detail
the setting in this book. For example on page 119 Duff is eating lunch at an outdoor restaurant. The
author describes in much detail as she uses words like pinkish yellow haze and tingly smell . Because
of this, the readers are vividly able to imagine the setting with ease. On the other hand, there were also
some factors that were not as satisfying. One example of this is the fact that there is almost no action
in this book. Most of this book is just Duff driving around describing what he sees. The only action is
when the people are chasing his car. Another negative side of this book is that the rising action was
dragged on for too long. This caused the reader to get a little bit bored. Also, as a result the falling
action and resolution were not developed enough. This imbalance is plot structure is a big reason why

How Education Is A Major Factor
The above graph shows the how education is a major factor in the variation of changes of the United
States during this time frame. For the birth year, it would be the birth year of the parents of the
students going to college. The percent is the percentage of students that completed college. As you can
easily tell that the elite class keeps rising, while the low class barely moves. The developed country of
the United States has increased the college costs for students in recent years. Higher costs only benefit
the wealthy and lower income students lose in this situation. Lower income households end up
borrowing too much. It doesn t affect the elite; in fact, they have the largest spike opposed to the other
classes. Although college completion rates have increased, the cost of borrowing has also increased
for lower class households. In a developing country, since there is more poverty and less parents that
went to college, it led to most adults not having any schooling.
During my research, I came to a realization that the United States is actually increasing slowly in
income inequality. I saw this in another factor: health. The U.S. has a universal health care system that
sometimes benefits people by providing little cost co pays. The length of life varies among the
individuals and it was found that additional income allows for better care of oneself. This says that
greater income inequality will produce greater inequality of life spans within countries. The life
expectancy

Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God
On How to Beg God to Exist
Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity has
ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social conflict at the
heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have as its foundation a
logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in particular, that of St.
Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider Søren Kierkegaard s claim that any
logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God is necessary for reality to exist
(Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas and then determine whether we could
reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and employ Occam s razor.
The Way of Motion
a) Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something
already in a state of actuality.
b) Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and in
the same sense.
c) Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another.
d) This cannot go on infinitely.
e) Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God.
Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence.
Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why
(Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the

Finally, the third reason is a breach of warranty claim. The law implies a warranty by a manufacturer
which places its product on the market that the product is reasonably fit for the ordinary purpose for
which it was intended. If it is, in fact, defective and not reasonably fit to be used for its intended
purpose, the warranty is breached. Ultimately, Nancy Denny won because the court found that
defendant had, breached its implied warranty of merchantability and that the breach was the proximate
cause of Nancy Denny s injuries . Ford may have avoided these liabilities had they marketed the
vehicles manual towards off road only, or had they proved product safety was reasonable to drive in
ordinary circumstances. Judge Simons dissented on the case stating he felt consumer expectation had
no place in personal injury litigation. His reasoning seemed to place absolute burden on a

Quotes For Lord Capulet
Essay Outline
The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees play at least 22 games a year just against each other,
not including playoffs. They are also the largest rival baseball team of all times. Romeo and Juliet
could be portrayed using the Capulets as Boston and the Montagues as New York. At one of the games
between them taking place in Fenway Park, Romeo and Juliet meet and hit it off right away. Although
their rivals, they do not realize who they are until after the game. In my favorite scene, Act 4 Scene 2,
Lord Capulet plays a very important part by talking to Juliet about the wedding with Paris.
I think that Lord Capulet is the most needed character in this scene because it is all based on his inner
attitude. When Juliet begs for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After her speech, he goes straight to business face. If I directed a play of this, then I would direct the
person playing Lord Capulet to walk around and talk to himself about random things like caterer,
flowers, place, etc... and then start talking about his rewards because, as it says above, all he cares
about is what is in it for him.
Staging is just one element in the theater genre, but it is a very important one. If I had the chance to
direct Romeo and Juliet in the modernized version I created, then the lights for Act 4 Scene 2 would
be bright, like fluorescent lights were everywhere. Even if Lord Capulet was not holding a phone that
lights up, we would need to signify that he is using one and what he is doing with it. That would need
it s own lighting. The camera angle if we ever filmed it would move from place to place. I believe that
it would start on Lord Capulet and then everyone else would answer while he is on his phone. The
camera when Juliet enters would be focused on her, maybe with her running into the room where her
father is. All of the actors need costumes to make the whole scene come alive. Lord Capulet would be
wearing a suit, black with a light blue undershirt and a red tie would be added to this to make the
audience believe that he had just come from work. The suit will also show that even at home, Lord
Capulet is all about the money.
Romeo and Juliet already has many modernized versions

Neanderthals Essay
While there were many genetic differences found between Neanderthal and modern human DNA,
there was also a number of genetic overlap. Genomes were taken and sequenced from Africans, New
Guinean, Han Chinese, and French (Green et al. 2010). Genetic overlap and similarity was found
among the French, New Guinean, and Han Chinese but there was no significant similarity found
between the African genomes (Green et al. 2010). In addition, data was taken based on haplotypic
differences. If there was considerable gene flow from Neanderthals to modern humans, it would be
suspected that there would be similarities between Neanderthals and non African haplotypes when
compared to African haplotypes. The data found that there were haplotypes found among ... Show

Through previous studies, it has been suspected that Neanderthals, who are a close common ancestor
to modern humans, lived in parts of Asia and Europe. Speculations surrounding whether or not
modern humans interbred or simply co existed with Neanderthals has been a highly regarded topic. If
interbreeding did occur, it would suggest that modern humans did in fact partly evolve from genetic
variations with Neanderthals. In one study, this question is explored even further using information
from the Neanderthal genome (Wall et al. 2013). Data was gathered based on admixture
(interbreeding) rates between Neanderthals, East Asians, and Europeans using the Denisova genome
(bone fragments found in the mountains of Siberia and Russia) (Wall et al. 2013). After comparison,
the results found varying admixture rates among the different populations. For example, the rate of
admixture was 40% higher with East Asians than Europeans (Wall et al. 2013). Due to varying
admixture rates, it can be suggested that Neanderthals did not all at once interbreed with Europeans
and Asians, but this interbreeding occurred during separate times resulting in different

The Events And Connecting Dots Intrigues
If current events and connecting dots intrigues you, you may enjoy the read. For others, the last

Last weekend, the phone rang. The east coast number surprised me. It was from a long lost friend.
With a smile on my face, I picked up. As we finished catching up, I asked him what urged him to call.
He was candid, I am stranded at home, the historic snow storm and intermittent Internet made me
contemplative, I picked up the phone to catch up. I chuckled. First time, extreme weather played good
sport in reconnecting friends.
My last memory of weather and a chuckle was when I first moved to Houston. My grandfather, living
in his familiar environs in a village in South India, wanted to know about Houston weather. I thought
for a moment and told him, Air conditioned Chennai. Chennai, like Houston, is a coastal city.
My grand father chuckled he could imagine the mix of heat, humidity and full fledged air conditioner
blasting cool air practically everywhere you move.
And those air conditioners were in full throttle on a hot Texas day in August 2011. What was unusual
about that day, there was no cloud cover across the state. The power plants were cranking up at their
full capacity, the heat was blistering and supply was tight. Surge pricing, made famous by Uber, was
in effect for electricity. It had a less fancy name, super peak pricing. The nuanced difference from
Uber, there was a price cap like Lyft. The major difference,

Hedge Funds History
Hedge funds originated in the late 1940s, and they have been causing problems in the US economy
since then. Due to the fact that hedge funds basically function on loopholes in American laws, it
simply creates a way for the rich to become richer and the poor to become poorer. An example of this
is the way that hedge funds are structured to avoid regulation by the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC), the federal regulator of securities markets (Investopedia) in the United States.
Hedge funds are able to exempt themselves from the Investment Company Act of 1940, an act put in
place by the SEC that imposes limits on the use of certain investment techniques, by having less than
100 investors (Fichtner 8) or making sure that investors are

Why Georgia s Anti Mask Laws
When Georgia s anti mask laws were scrawled into state code some 60 years ago, supportive
legislators sought to curb anonymous violence by hooded Ku Klux Klansmen. But first year Georgia
State student Nabila Khan never guessed such a law would bring into question her niqab, a veil worn
by some Muslim women which covers everything but the eyes. On Aug. 25, during Khan s first week
of college, one of her teachers held her after class to request she not conceal her face. Khan refused,
claiming such an ask violated her right to freely exercise her religious beliefs. I wear it to work. I wear
it to school, she told The Signal about her niqab. Many people have this misconception that, as
Muslim women, we re oppressed or forced to wear it. For me, it s a choice. My parents never forced
me to wear it. Khan said she feels proud and protected when wearing her niqab. This is the only way I
can practice my religion the way I believe it s meant to be practiced, she said. However, Georgia s anti
mask law states any device which conceals the identity of the wearer is only allowed when used for
physical protection or on certain holidays. Georgia, unlike some states such as Louisiana and
Minnesota, has yet to amend that code to allow for religion related exemptions. The teacher, who will
remain unnamed in this article at Khan s request, noted on the class syllabus that students should not
obscure the face in class. The teacher also gave Khan a copy of the state law when she

What Is The Significance Of The Victorian Age
Victorian age is the era of prosperity in the industrial revolution in Britain and then Europe and

Theme Of Human Relationships By Anita Desai
Anita Desai presents to reader her opinion about complexity of human relationships as a big
contemporary problem and human condition. At the level of inner consciousness words are not mere
meanings recorded in a dictionary but are symbolic which trigger feelings and meanings that an
individual draws out of one s subconscious storehouse. Her women characters make a reader look at
them with awe with their relationship to their surroundings, their society, their men, their children,
their families, their psychological make ups and themselves. Though not admittedly a feminist, Anita
Desai is well aware of the predicament of the Indian women and their relationship with men. Running
inward her fiction grapples with the intangible realities of life. Man woman relationship in the urban
society is her concern and in novel after novel she delves deeper and deeper in this dilemma. D.H.

Anita Desai has added a new dimension to the achievement of Indian women writers in English fiction
through novels like Cry The Peacock, Voices In The City, Where Shall We Go This Summer, Fasting
Feasting, Fire On The Mountain and many more.
The contribution of Anita Desai is significant on account of the grater accent given to The inner
Climate which is more compelling than the outer weather (Srinivasa Iyengar, 464).
In her first novel Cry The Peacock, Anita Desai s style is tinted with a curious compatibility with her
theme, because the narrator happens to be a hypersensitive young become, tense and over wrought.

Judgement Day, Or The Judgement
A huge concern for most people, Christ follower or not, is the question of what happens in the end?
What happens when humans die? It is a question that many people do not want to discuss because it
brings up fear. Regardless of what people believe, all humankind will be judged in the end. Judgement
Day, or the Judgement, is something that will happen in end times where God has selected a day to
judge the world in righteousness. All people who have lived upon the earth, including fallen angels,
will stand before Christ and give an account for his or her actions, thoughts, and words. The Judgment
will be discussed in order to describe how it has been interpreted and studied as well as why it is
important in life today.
In order for one to believe that there will be a final judgement, one must have a specific worldview.
One must believe that there is a God. This does not necessarily mean they are Christian as a person
can believe in a God without actually following Him. One must believe in the Bible and that it is the
inerrant word of God. One must also believe in Heaven and Hell and a basic belief in Eschatology.
Eschatology comes from a Greek word eschados which means last and logia which means the study of
. It is the study of what happens in end times. One must believe that when they die, he or she s soul
will leave their body and go to Heaven. From there, they will then be reunited with their body at the
resurrection, and then await final judgement.

The pharmaceutical industry is yet another part of health care that is receiving immense profits from
its advertisements and a physician prescribing only certain medications. The truth is that some of the
medicines can cause more harm than good. So who s really profiting? Truth is, that the physicians and
pharmaceutical companies are benefiting; when the doctor prescribes medications that causes more
issues than it cures, a revolving door is created so that the physicians and pharmaceutical companies
can keep gaining profits. For instance, if a patient receives medicine to treat an ailment and it creates
more health issues then the doctor will now keep prescribing medications to fix an issue, when it is

Analysis Of Culture Jamming By Kalle Lasn

the Russian air force had been deployed there has been progress, however the Russians have been
accused of targeting civilians and civilian property, such as schools and hospitals. This is evident is
Aleppo as hospital staff have claimed that Russian jets that have flown over hospitals have dropped

Over 3,300 years ago, a young King, known as Tutankhamen, inherited the rule of the Egyptian

known. In the young kings life, he wife Ankhesenpaaten was unable to birth a son, but she did have
the misfortune of miscarrying two daughters. Then when Tutankhamen was nineteen , he died and left
his empire in shambles. It s still a mystery if the King was murdered or if his death was an accident. In
year 1922 Tutenhamen finally became known when Howard Carter discovered the young kings

A letter was written to King Hitties which asked him to send her a groom to share the throne with her,
this was probably her last effort to hold onto power. There are documents that prove Hittie sent prince
Zannanza to Egypt, but he somehow disappeared on the way. Still what really happened after the
young kings death is a mystery most Egyptologists would love to solve. (Editors, Biography.com
2016)
King Tuts tomb was found untouched although the peripheral rooms were looted. Tut was lavished
with many jewels, all made of pure gold. Paintings surrounded the walls of the tomb describing the
first stages of his transition to the afterlife. Researchers believe that Nefertiti might be buried behind
the wall of king Tut s tomb. Also, the tomb may have included Tut s older sister Mertitaten , and his
mother Kiya. Other theory is that these extra chambers might be storage chambers, either way
whatever is behind that wall can tell us more about the king and his heritage. (Jarus

The Nature And Complexities Important Aspects Of B2b And...
B2B Assignment 1
INTRODUCTION
This assignment is to understand the nature and complexities included in B2B marketing. This
assignment also includes the important aspects of B2B and B2C marketing. The objective is to discuss
how B2B differs from B2C.
B2B is basically for longtime sales practice called business to business while B2C signifies business
to consumer. B2B deals with commerce transactions between businesses, not the general public, and
B2C provides products and services directly to the end user. The initial step in forming marketing
strategies for both B2B and B2C is to some extent similar.
UNDERSTANDING THE MARKETS AND THE BUYERS

B2C sales representatives are accustomed to a moderately short purchase cycle and a much closer
association with marketing and e business. Exchanging to the B2B world would have a tendency to
baffle most B2C salesmen because of the more extended term technique and necessities for
relationship building. Then again, moving from B2B to a retail environment may turn out to be
excessively serious for the normal B2B sales proficient, with little of the consistency or arranging they
are utilized to. In either case, while fabricating a successful sales force, you ought to consider the
foundations of your business

King Lear Tragic Hero Essay
A tragic hero is said to be an imperfect character of noble stature, a character with a downfall caused
by an error of judgement which is not deserved, and a self realization from the downfall. King Lear
from the play King Lear fits this description of a tragic hero. King Lear is a tragic play written by
Shakespeare. King Lear is depicted as a tragic hero because of his high status, his downfall which was
caused by himself, and his realization from his downfall. King Lear is portrayed as a tragic hero
partially because of his imperfectness. Throughout the play, King Lear makes many mistakes, which
show his imperfections. His mistakes eventually led to his insanity. He does not even want ot go
insane. He says, O, let me not be mad, not mad, sweet heaven keep me in temper: I would not be mad!
(I v 1 2). In the end of the play, Lear s insanity leads to his demise. When he meets Cordelia ... Show

Aristotle believes that a tragic hero s downfall is his/her own fault. He also believes that this decision
was made by choice and not by force. King Lear truly fits this description. King Lear s downfall was
dividing his land (and his crown) to his three daughters out of narcissism. Lear wanted his daughters
to tell him how much they loved him. He did this by choice, not knowing how evil two of his
daughters, Goneril and Regan, really were and how they did not actually love him. His obliviousness
was his flaw and trusted his daughters too much. However, King Lear disowned his youngest
daughter, Cordelia, even though she was the one who love him most. Lear is outraged when she does
not tell him how much she loves him. King Lear says Ingratitude, thou marble hearted fiend, more
hideous when thou show st thee in a child than the sea monster! (I iv 4 6). He mistook her honesty for
lack of respect, which partially led to his downfall as well. By the end of the play, Lear s mistakes
caused him to go

Nevertheless, the results showed that ABC system s impact is often limited and it has also been
refused by a high percentage. The survey also considered both the company sector and size. Most of
the companies have to make decisions on its use. There is still possibility for considerable increasing
in its adoption. ABC is an on going development, it gives considerable chances for researches who are
interested in changing to pursue work different kinds of management accounting area. (Innes and
Mitchell, 1995) This survey proves that ABC has been adopted by some U.K. companies and these
companies are trying to use ABC to make big progress. On the other hand, the results also show that,
at a practical level, opinions on ABC are differed among the U.K. s large companies.

Comparing Heroes In Beowulf And The Knight s Tale
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. Abraham
Lincoln. Fictional or nonfictional stories often reflect a strong hero. However, has anyone noticed, the
longer heroes remain in power the less heroic they become? The Fictional stories of Beowulf, and The
Knight s Tale, and the nonfictional story of king David, are examples of these so called heroes . These
stories prove that the longer a hero is in power, the less heroic they become.
The Knight s Tale depicts a character named Theseus. Theseus is considered by some to be a hero
because he helped overthrow bad leadership in many kingdoms, including the land of Athens. After
helping Athens, he became their king. Theseus was a good and wise king for many years. However, as
we advance through the story, Theseus makes decisions that hurt his kingdom. When two outlawed
knights begin to fight over the princess of Athens, he does not throw them in prison, does not banish
them, and does not tell them, Take this fight somewhere else, so nobody gets hurt . Instead, he ...

David showed loyalty, faith, leadership, talent, and bravery. He was known as a wise ruler and a great
worrier. In the same way, anyone who knows the bible probably knows about the sins David
committed. Instead of going into war with his men, David stayed home and did not fight. That poor,
cowardly decision led to the sin of adultery with Bathsheba, killing her husband, trying to cover up his
sins, and not following God s commands as king. David transformed into a bad father. David
transformed into an inconsiderate king. David transformed into an unacceptable hero. His decisions
revolved around himself instead of his people. As David s power grew, so did his opportunities to sin.
David grew to be a self centered and corrupt king. The longer David was in power the more selfish he
became. He was no longer the hero he used to

South Beach Diet Essay
History of South Beach Diet The South Beach Diet is a diet plan designed by cardiologist Arthur
Agatston and dietician Marie Almon. In 1995, Dr. Agatston developed a diet to prevent heart disease
for his cardiac and diabetes patients. According to the South Beach Diet website, Agatstaion knew that
a low fat diet would reduce cholesterol and prevent heart disease, but patients had a hard time sticking
to the diet. Agatson wanted to find out the reason why his patients had a hard time sticking to the low
fat diet. So he turned to David Jenkins, who was working with insulin resistance. After researching
with Jenkins, Agatstion found out the reason why the low fat diets was not working because patients

Diet and 30 patients on the American Heart Association diet. The study was conducted for 12 weeks
and the South Beach Diet showed better results. After 12 weeks, those on his program lost an average
of 13.6 pounds, almost twice that lost by those in the other group. They also had a greater reduction in
belly fat (the telltale hip to waist ratio with its implicit warning of heart risk), improved blood
chemistry and a lower dropout rate one instead of five. (Hager,2004, pg#)Agatstaton s diet became
popular through local television station picked up the story. After that it was history and Agatstaton

Law Of The Seas Memo
Law of the Seas Memo
Marine Langreney
History
The freedom of the seas doctrine was created in the 17th century as a means to control rights over
ocean space. The doctrine assigned national rights to areas controlled by limited belts, with the
remaining being assigned as a public space, free to all nations. By the mid 20th century, technology
became more advanced and the ocean s resources became vulnerable to the innovations. Rising
conflicts occurred over ocean reserves, from decreasing fish stocks to pollution left by long distance
boats and oil tankers. Tension was rising from Navies of powerful nations, and were now competing
for control over these resources. There was a clear demand for power and presence over marine
resources. Oceans were becoming a new area of conflict, and the freedom of the seas doctrine was too
outdated to keep up with these new troubles.
It wasn t until 1945, when President Harry Truman extended sovereignty over the entire continental
shelf extended from the United States, that other countries took note and followed. This was the first
instance where the freedom of seas was being challenged, and his success lead to many countries
claiming similar territories. Argentina was the first country to follow, and claimed its own continental
shelf along with the one that lay above. Chile, Peru and Ecuador followed, but had claimed a zone of
200 miles. This came out of fear for their decreasing fish stocks, as they wanted to limit the number of

The Successes and Failures of the Zapatista Movement Essay
The Successes and Failures of the Zapatista Movement
On January 1, 2004, over one thousand people in the mountain hamlet of Oventic, Chiapas, celebrated
the 10th anniversary of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) rebellion with song and
dance. Thus, it seems a fitting time to take stock of the successes and failures of the Zapatista
movement in the context of its original goals. While the EZLN has been able to establish thirty eight
autonomous indigenous communities in Chiapas, it has failed to weaken the Mexican government s
commitment to neo liberal economic policies. In the following pages, we will explore those factors
which enabled the Zapatistas to establish regions of autonomy and extrapolate from Theotonio Dos ...

refusal to take money from the mal gobierno (bad government).? In addition, the Zapatistas have
created five organizational centers (caracoles) and established Juntas of Good Government in each of
them in order to ?resolve conflicts and disequilibrium between the centers and the outlying
autonomies.? The caracoles mark the EZLN?s first success with regional, as opposed to municipal,
autonomy. These Zapatista achievements can be attributed to the local terrain of Chiapas, restrictive
legislation, and local and national scrutiny.
The Mexican government has faced legal and practical restraints on launching an all out war on the
Zapatistas. The first government counter attacks encountered tactical difficulties in the jungles of
Chiapas and the army failed to score a quick military victory. In 1995, the federal congress passed a ?
law for dialogue,? which foreclosed the option of a unilateral show of force by the Mexican army in
areas under Zapatista control. This legislation catalyzed the signing of the San Andrés Accords by the
EZLN and the Zedillo government. The San Andrés Accords, as well as the inaccessibility of the
jungles of Chiapas, made overt military action politically and tactically unviable. The EZLN?s
national popularity and visibility also guaranteed its survival. Though the Mexican government
maintained a

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Motivation and features for Microfluidic and Lab on a chip Lab on a chip is the main platform of Microfluidic technology. The computer chips miniaturize the size of computer, Lab on a chip miniaturize the size of laboratory. In the past, chemists required a long period of time and a large amount of sample or reagent to complete the analysis or synthesis. However, using a square centimeter size chip instead of those large analysis instrument not only reduces the consumption of resource but also shortens the experimental time. In addition, because of these miniatures, the sewage emissions are also reduced. In other words, it is a kind of green technology. With the research and development of microfluidic chips, it has many unique characteristic features. First, the chip material becomes diversified from those expensive glass and silicon materials to PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane), PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate), PC (polycarbonate) and other polymer materials allows a high degree of flexibility, while the cost are continually decreasing [2]. • 5. Relationship Between Milk Market Participation In this chapter, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. Our data show that household income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101 versus 49 birr daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned by selling raw milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into butter and cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant households than in non participant households. This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household. Milk income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract with the milk company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by women. The consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in our data. In milk market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day, whereas in non participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases. Women tend to earn and control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per day), but earn only 4 birr milk income per day in market participant households. The central goal of the current study was to find out what the consequences of this change are for the bargaining position of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are argued by Manuel Puig as he reverses the traditional ideas of male and female using Valentin and Molina, in order argue against the idea that women were weak and men were strong. With the use of Valentin, a protester who carries all masculine traits used in order to symbolize the traditional societal ideology of manhood and masculinity. That being said, he has a feministic view of society. Moreover he views his relationship with Valentin rather well as he considers himself to be the submissive female that transforms into the manipulator, that tricks Valentin into eating the prison food, so that he can intentionally take care of him. However Puig is making the reader realize that Molina is enduring an internal struggle. The struggle is that Molina is stuck between telling the Warden the information that he is trying to get from Valentin, yet insisting that Valentin tell him nothing of his political life. These combinations create the angst within the character and the ultimate suspense of the piece as a whole. Perhaps both Valentin and Molina are seeking to escape by explaining the movies they recall. The movies that Molina tells Valentin reveals so much about Molina as he tends to cry each time he goes into the romantic part of the documentaries because Molina lacks love in his life as he is trapped within himself. However when he offers his body, so that is he free from this entrapment is when he makes love with Valentin. This shows us how similar Molina s persona is to that of a woman. The similar trends between Molina and a woman is best reflected when he talks about the love story of Leni. Leni betrays her own country because she lacks love from a man. Leni turns into a powerful woman when she backstabs the soldier that was once on her side. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, no cure has been found for Parkinson s disease so far, while different treatments have been constantly trialed to mitigate the disease. Deep brain stimulation is a neurosurgical intervention that has been used in the treatment of movement disorders including Parkinson s disease over the past three decades. Although it is has been widely used in clinical practice, the safety and efficacy of deep brain stimulation are still being debated. Firstly, deep brain stimulation may lead to negative effects on patients cognition, emotion and behavior. One such drug was for the treatment of social anxiety disorder, also called social phobia. In investigating the causes, symptoms, and treatment of social anxiety disorder, I found that while drug companies and some researchers have hailed the unveiling of a drug for social anxiety as an important step, others feel that the disorder is poorly defined and its prevalence is exaggerated. Therefore, the following questions emerged: how did the diagnostic category of social anxiety disorder come about? How much of the disorder is rooted in cultural views of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The disorder typically begins in childhood, and the National Institute of Mental Health estimates that 3.7 percent of 18 to 54 year olds in the United States have social anxiety disorder, with women diagnosed twice as often as men (1). Although researchers are not completely sure of the biological basis of social anxiety, some believe that its basis may lie in the amygdala, a small portion of the brain that controls fear response. NIMH scientists have also found a possible genetic component: through research on mice, they have found a gene that relates to fearfulness (1). Additionally, hormones may play a role, specifically fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels in women (4). Environment may also be important, as people with social anxiety may learn the behavior from watching and patterning those around them (1). Treatment may include the use of medications such as selective seretonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), monamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and beta blockers specifically for performance phobias. Individuals may also benefit from behavioral therapy, which involves gradual exposure to feared situations (1). Maintaining a career as a bartender during recovery is possible, but it isn t necessarily easy. You re obviously going to have to utilize out patient rehabilitation care, as opposed to in patient. Out patient centers let you live at home, attend work, and live your life like normal. You ll still have to attend regular meetings and detoxify, but there will be no one to guide you through the process. For many bartenders, this will be a major challenge, but it can be incredibly liberating for others. Being able to maintain a normal lifestyle may help give them the motivation they need to live a sober life. Remember: in an out patient program, you are your own boss and are in control of your own actions. The only person you have to answer to is yourself. In fact, for many people recovering from an alcohol addiction, going back to work as a bartender can serve as an important personal challenge. • 18. Summary Of Jeanne Duprau s Car Trouble Book Talk Assignment For my Realistic Fiction Book Talk assignment I have read the realistic fiction book Car Trouble written by Jeanne DuPrau. This book takes place all throughout America as Duff, the main character, drives from his hometown to the other side of the country in California. Duff has recently been given a job offer in Silicon Valley. Duff is ready to go and is willing to, his parents, on the other hand say that instead of diving straight into a job, Duff should go to college instead. However, like any book, some elements of this book could have been better. A factor of this book that did well was characterizing Duff the way he is. For example the author tells us It sounds like a bunch of machines screaming at each other... I thought you said this was music . It is to me (DuPrau 77). Here we get a great sense that Duff loves computers because of this detail that shows that Duff likes listening to computers for music. Another great component of this book is that the author did a great job of describing in detail the setting in this book. For example on page 119 Duff is eating lunch at an outdoor restaurant. The author describes in much detail as she uses words like pinkish yellow haze and tingly smell . Because of this, the readers are vividly able to imagine the setting with ease. On the other hand, there were also some factors that were not as satisfying. One example of this is the fact that there is almost no action in this book. Most of this book is just Duff driving around describing what he sees. The only action is when the people are chasing his car. Another negative side of this book is that the rising action was dragged on for too long. This caused the reader to get a little bit bored. Also, as a result the falling action and resolution were not developed enough. This imbalance is plot structure is a big reason why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. How Education Is A Major Factor The above graph shows the how education is a major factor in the variation of changes of the United States during this time frame. For the birth year, it would be the birth year of the parents of the students going to college. The percent is the percentage of students that completed college. As you can easily tell that the elite class keeps rising, while the low class barely moves. The developed country of the United States has increased the college costs for students in recent years. Higher costs only benefit the wealthy and lower income students lose in this situation. Lower income households end up borrowing too much. It doesn t affect the elite; in fact, they have the largest spike opposed to the other classes. Although college completion rates have increased, the cost of borrowing has also increased for lower class households. In a developing country, since there is more poverty and less parents that went to college, it led to most adults not having any schooling. During my research, I came to a realization that the United States is actually increasing slowly in income inequality. I saw this in another factor: health. The U.S. has a universal health care system that sometimes benefits people by providing little cost co pays. The length of life varies among the individuals and it was found that additional income allows for better care of oneself. This says that greater income inequality will produce greater inequality of life spans within countries. The life expectancy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God On How to Beg God to Exist Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity has ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social conflict at the heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have as its foundation a logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in particular, that of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider Søren Kierkegaard s claim that any logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God is necessary for reality to exist (Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas and then determine whether we could reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and employ Occam s razor. The Way of Motion a) Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something already in a state of actuality. b) Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and in the same sense. c) Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another. d) This cannot go on infinitely. e) Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God. Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence. Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why (Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the sales manual this feature would be appealing to women due to the vehicles ability to drive safer on snow and ice. Finally, the third reason is a breach of warranty claim. The law implies a warranty by a manufacturer which places its product on the market that the product is reasonably fit for the ordinary purpose for which it was intended. If it is, in fact, defective and not reasonably fit to be used for its intended purpose, the warranty is breached. Ultimately, Nancy Denny won because the court found that defendant had, breached its implied warranty of merchantability and that the breach was the proximate cause of Nancy Denny s injuries . Ford may have avoided these liabilities had they marketed the vehicles manual towards off road only, or had they proved product safety was reasonable to drive in ordinary circumstances. Judge Simons dissented on the case stating he felt consumer expectation had no place in personal injury litigation. His reasoning seemed to place absolute burden on a manufacturer in all cases. His reasoning s stated ordinary uses and intended and reasonably foreseeable implied warranties. If this were the case it would be hard to determine the definition of defective and reasonable to provide a decision in other cases. The camera angle if we ever filmed it would move from place to place. I believe that it would start on Lord Capulet and then everyone else would answer while he is on his phone. The camera when Juliet enters would be focused on her, maybe with her running into the room where her father is. All of the actors need costumes to make the whole scene come alive. Lord Capulet would be wearing a suit, black with a light blue undershirt and a red tie would be added to this to make the audience believe that he had just come from work. Speculations surrounding whether or not modern humans interbred or simply co existed with Neanderthals has been a highly regarded topic. If interbreeding did occur, it would suggest that modern humans did in fact partly evolve from genetic variations with Neanderthals. In one study, this question is explored even further using information from the Neanderthal genome (Wall et al. 2013). Data was gathered based on admixture (interbreeding) rates between Neanderthals, East Asians, and Europeans using the Denisova genome (bone fragments found in the mountains of Siberia and Russia) (Wall et al. 2013). After comparison, the results found varying admixture rates among the different populations. For example, the rate of admixture was 40% higher with East Asians than Europeans (Wall et al. 2013). Why Georgia s Anti Mask Laws When Georgia s anti mask laws were scrawled into state code some 60 years ago, supportive legislators sought to curb anonymous violence by hooded Ku Klux Klansmen. But first year Georgia State student Nabila Khan never guessed such a law would bring into question her niqab, a veil worn by some Muslim women which covers everything but the eyes. On Aug. 25, during Khan s first week of college, one of her teachers held her after class to request she not conceal her face. Khan refused, claiming such an ask violated her right to freely exercise her religious beliefs. I wear it to work. I wear it to school, she told The Signal about her niqab. Many people have this misconception that, as Muslim women, we re oppressed or forced to wear it. For me, it s a choice. My parents never forced me to wear it. However, Georgia s anti mask law states any device which conceals the identity of the wearer is only allowed when used for physical protection or on certain holidays. Georgia, unlike some states such as Louisiana and Minnesota, has yet to amend that code to allow for religion related exemptions. It is a question that many people do not want to discuss because it brings up fear. Regardless of what people believe, all humankind will be judged in the end. Judgement Day, or the Judgement, is something that will happen in end times where God has selected a day to judge the world in righteousness. All people who have lived upon the earth, including fallen angels, will stand before Christ and give an account for his or her actions, thoughts, and words. The Judgment will be discussed in order to describe how it has been interpreted and studied as well as why it is important in life today. In order for one to believe that there will be a final judgement, one must have a specific worldview. One must believe that there is a God. This does not necessarily mean they are Christian as a person can believe in a God without actually following Him. One must believe in the Bible and that it is the inerrant word of God. One must also believe in Heaven and Hell and a basic belief in Eschatology. Eschatology comes from a Greek word eschados which means last and logia which means the study of . The pharmaceutical industry is yet another part of health care that is receiving immense profits from its advertisements and a physician prescribing only certain medications. The truth is that some of the medicines can cause more harm than good. So who s really profiting? For instance, if a patient receives medicine to treat an ailment and it creates more health issues then the doctor will now keep prescribing medications to fix an issue, when it is actually making the patient worse. The doctrine assigned national rights to areas controlled by limited belts, with the remaining being assigned as a public space, free to all nations. By the mid 20th century, technology became more advanced and the ocean s resources became vulnerable to the innovations. Rising conflicts occurred over ocean reserves, from decreasing fish stocks to pollution left by long distance boats and oil tankers. Tension was rising from Navies of powerful nations, and were now competing for control over these resources. There was a clear demand for power and presence over marine resources.
