Puritans in the town, and causes her much loneliness and suffering. In the beginning of the book, the
Puritans are disgusted by Hester, and shun her. As the book goes on, however, the townspeople slowly
begin to let Hester into society, and use her as an example of how suffering and good deeds can lead to
salvation. Hester s view of herself does not change, and it shows that society is not the only source of
her suffering. Hester s suffering and lack of suffering from the town reflect on the nature of the
Puritans, and reveal how even the strictest of societies can show compassion in certain circumstances.
By being forced to wear the scarlet letter in the beginning of the book, Hester becomes separated from
the rest of society, and is now suffering because of it. In the beginning of The Scarlet Letter, Hester is
made an example of what happens if one is to sin. The scarlet setter that Hester wears is used as a
reminder of what happens when one commits a sin. As soon as Hester puts on the scarlet letter, she is

student from university of Nottingham. Loman discusses about the role of Greek women in defending
their cities and communities. The author attempts to clarify the assumptions made by modern scholars
or authors that women did not play a part in foreign military campaigns i.e. war. Loman discusses
about Greek women and their views, emotion and reaction based on warfare, the impossible existence
of amazons. The reason for the author making this an argument is because of misjudgment even thou
women have had an active role in war. The only side shown by most researchers is when, women are
either rejoicing for the victory of their soldiers or the mourning for their country. But the authors
makes a point to look at the facts about Greek women and if they have been credited enough for their
participation and support in war. Loman compares the contrasts the research done by other authors

Should school start at 7:00 or should it start later in the morning? In Douglas High School, start times
are at 7:30 in the morning. Changing the school schedule to a later start time would result in many
other changes affecting a lot of people. According to the National Sleep Foundation, The change will
affect the entire community, from students and parents to businesses, libraries, police, youth sports
clubs, bus drivers and many others. Altering the school schedule would influence numerous aspects of
people s lives. Highly coordinated routines would have to be changed and adapted to the new
schedule. A later release time would take time off of students free time in the afternoon. Clubs, sports,
jobs, and other after school activities would have to be pushed back later into the evening. School start
times should stay earlier in the morning, since changing routines would be difficult, students need free
time, and after school activities would be pushed back.
Perhaps the biggest concern for parents would be having to change and reorganize their carefully
planned, traditional routines. Many people are resistant to change, especially if it involves
reassembling their plans and procedures to adjust to the new schedule. This is a problem for parents
work schedules since they most likely will not be able to see their kids in the morning which will
leave students unsupervised when they get ready. This is also a problem for transportation since
parents will not be able to take their kids to school, unnecessarily causing traffic and more costs since
bus schedules would change too. According to the National Sleep Foundation, If elementary students
have the earliest start times, they may be waiting for the bus in the dark early mornings, or waiting at
home alone after school. Later start times are thought to solve tardies and absences, but if students
