Persuasive Essay On Babysitting
Babysitting. A quick way for any young teen under the age to actually get a real job. It seems
easy, watch some kids for a few hours and you have yourself $20, but after my experience, you ll
see it s not that easy. I was 14 and babysitting at a house bigger than the White House. Inside there
were multiple high class fish tanks, furniture that cost more than a car, and everything from the
floors to the ceilings was brand new. It was just me, a _____ dog, and three little boys, two of
them were ten and one was six. I was babysitting overnight. I love being an over the top
babysitter so I usually bring fun crafts and games to entrain the kids. This night was no
exception and I had brought a make your own lava lamp kit for them to create. It was simple,
mix oil, water, and food coloring into a cup and Tadaa! An amazing lava lamp appeared.
Unfortunately, the younger boy named Austin got blue food coloring all in his small hands. I
told him to scrub it off I the sink and then to dry his hands. Then went back to mixing their
creations when the first ten year old boy, Justin, shrieked Julia! Julia! Look!!! Whipping my head
around, I saw something no one would ever want to see. Something an enemy wouldn t wish on a
person. Something that would send a shiver down your back. This something was a fire. Black
smoke was already forming to the point where I couldn t even see what was behind the flames.
Screaming and shouting at the kids , I told them to go into the back room close to

The Love Experience In The Story Of A Love Story
I know, I know, everybody writes about a love story. However, this one wasn t a love story from
the beginning. We all seem to be in search of that special someone , or so they call it. In my
experience, it never works through seeking a person out. Ask any married couple that has been
together for a while if they found each other by searching for their type . It usually doesn t work
that way, loveis usually accidental. I, being a prime example of how it starts, will share my story
with you.
Every year, I go to a church camp with my youth group. This is the world s largest baptist church
camp, by the name of Falls Creek. What would usually happen outside of Tabernacle would be
me and Tyler Hope hanging out and doing the things the camp had to offer. For the most part,
that is what happened on that Monday. Then came Tuesday, the 30th of June, 2015. The day
ensued as it normally would any other year: breakfast, morning bible study, small groups, lunch,
large groups, dinner, and Tabernacle. However, things changed after that. I exited the sanctuary
to go find Tyler, then I got distracted. Now, being the little comic book freak that I am, the thing
that distracted me was a Batman hat. Of course there was a person under the hat, so I decided to
talk to her. Deciding that this will be my new friend, based solely on her taste in hats, I said what
any 15 year old kid would say. I said, Hey, I like your hat. (What? Were you expecting some clever
line about hats?) After that, I

Supporting Ban on Pete Rose from Baseball Hall of Fame Essay
What has the game of baseball meant for Americans? For many baseball is a game of integrity,
honesty, and without a doubt skill. When one of these factors is allowed to overtake the other it
leaves the game unbalanced with lost priorities. Like everything else in life, baseball has rules
and regulations which should be followed and enforced. The Baseball Hall of Fame honors
persons who have excelled in playing, managing, and serving the sport. Having ten years of
experience in the game and five years of retirement players who pass a screening committee

The Video Of Ghost By Beyonce Knowles
In the winter of 2013, BeyoncГ© returned to the music industry and destroyed everything in her
path. She dropped an unexpected album after having been absent from the industry to take care of
her daughter Blue and not allude to when she would be returning. Then on December 13, 2013 she
released self titled 5th album, BeyoncГ©, with 14 songs as well as 14 music videos to go along
with each song. She released it only on digital platforms. She did it without any marketing. She
sold over 600,000 copies in the first week. Needless to say, BeyoncГ© had set the bar for the rest
of the music industry. However, despite the fact that BeyoncГ© s ability to keep the album as a

Black women are told again and again by society that their sexuality and their bodies are not
acceptable by societal standards, but by creating Rocket BeyoncГ© twists that narrative.
Throughout the video the focus is on her body. It is sensual and sexy, but never grotesque. She lets
you know she has sex and that it is far better than you are ever going to have.
BeyoncГ© has been in the spotlight for the majority of her life, with her first performance on
television being at 8 years old and then later recording her first album at 14 with Destiny s
Child. She has always known what it is like to be in the spotlight and the expectations that come
with it. In Ghost, she attempts to cast off these expectations by showing her and her dancers
struggle with a long cloth and full body suits. While it is easy to see this as BeyoncГ© grappling
with fame as a whole, Ghost can be read as BeyoncГ© getting rid of the image she was once
forced to maintain; an image that was meant to placate and not push parts of her identity such as
her race. In Nicole R Fleetwood s article about Diana Ross, she comments on how Diana Ross

idea worked reasonably well as long as the area remained a rural and agrarian one. New York
City established the Shout and Rattle Watch in 1651 however, in 1705, Philadelphia found it
necessary to divide the city into ten patrol areas. As the United States of America was born and
the population increased as did the urgency of keeping order and civil rest. Beginning with
Sheriff s in the counties, policing was then instituted in all forms of government agencies,
utilizing the gendarmerie principle and paid with taxes by the citizens of the land. As our
country developed and became more populated and civil, so did the number of officers in the
police agencies across our country. Each individual community differs on issues ranging from
drug abuses, theft and now more prevalent, police brutality. In order to understand the reasons
behind the widespread use of force by police officers, we have to understand contributing factors.
Robert E. Worden connects theories of police brutality with new evidence on the use of force by

Comparing Henry David Thoreau and Herman Melville s Writings
Comparing Henry David Thoreau and Herman Melville s Writings
Henry David Thoreau and Herman Melville focused their writings on how man was affected by
nature. They translated their philosophies though both the portrayal of their protagonist and their
own self exploration. In Moby Dick,
Melville writes about Ahab s physical and metaphysical struggle over the great white whale, Moby
Dick, symbolic of man s struggle against the overwhelming forces of nature. Ahab s quest is
reported and experienced through the eyes of
Ishmael. Melville s use of the third person s biographical standpoint exposes conflicting viewpoints
that were both in agreement and disagreement with Ahab s quest, creatively allowing Melville to
transcend the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This conflict becomes the warped and demonic idea of a man willing to take on the power s of
Moby Dick which is the epitome of the greatest force in nature.
Regardless of the onslaught, predestined for Ahab, he will be doomed to failure because of his
monomaniacal spirited quest; As he shouted with a terrific, land, animal sob, like that of a heart
stricken moose; Aye, aye! It was that accused white whale that raged me; made a pon pegging
lumber of me forever and a day!В…
Aye, aye! And I ll chase him normal Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway
Maelstrom, and round perdition s flames before I give him up . Henry David Thoreau when writing
about his experiences at WaldenPond indicated that mankind cannot be persuaded by the
materialism of the world and must aspire to the highest goals of truth, virtue and independence for
his existence. Thoreau would find this transcendental experience through the finest qualities
existing in nature. He states that, most men, even in this comparatively free country through mere
ignorance and mistake, are so occupied with the factitious cares and superfluously coarse labor of
life that its finer fruits cannot be plucked by them (p. 790). Thoreau points out the weakening of
man s original calling by the results of the industrial revolution, division of labor, the robotics of
factory life and materialistic vision of life. The end result is self destruction and depression of ones

potential buyer. They are in a better position with access to qualified buyers, market data and
insider information that rarely is reported in the property comps.
3. Can you sell like Modesto realtors?
Selling a home happens in multiple steps and each phase needs to complete the process before
moving on to the next. As FSBO, you have to compile the findings of the market, preform an
assessment of your home according the market s profile before you can even list the home.
Granted it may only take a few days to do the first few steps by hiring a lawyer. The next steps for
marketing, staging and showing the home will need to be executed smoothly for the sale to close
completely on schedule.
Modesto realtors are one step ahead of you and they are your competition. They are well informed
on the existing real estate market and know what s happening in your neighborhood to prevent any
mishaps that may affect deals currently in process. Sometimes the changes are simple to fix and
other times they can halt the sale sending the buyer to purchase another home on the market.

Similarities Between Islam And Mormonism
Islam and Mormonism
Islam and Mormonism are two monotheistic religions whose origins go back to Abraham, but were
founded within the last 1500 years. There are many similarities between the religions, and of
course, many differences.
The Qur an is the sacred text of Islam. Muslims believe that Muhammad, at twenty three years of
age, received revelation from God over the next twenty three years through the angel Gabriel.
Muslims view the Qur an as God s final revelation and would not accept any other revelations.
They believe that Muhammad was the final prophet. For most Muslims, the Qur an is only really
the sacred word of God if it is in Arabic. Muslims believe that the current Qur an is exactly the
same as what was revealed to Muhammad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Mormonism, there is something similar to the Five Pillars of Islam in that they have a list of
beliefs that they see as their main or most important beliefs which are listed in the Thirteen
Articles of Faith. The most important of those articles of faith would be Mormonism s version
of the Five Pillars of Islam. The first article of faith is probably the most important one: that we
believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. The
next Pillar of Mormonism would be the second article of faith in my opinion: that we believe
that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam s transgression. The next Pillar
of Mormonism would be the third article of faith:that we believe that through the Atonement of
Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. The
next and in my opinion, the most important of all our articles of faith is the fourth one: that we
believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth,
Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. You could also break that article of faith up
and say that the four ordinances and principles listed in the fourth article of faith are four of the
Pillars of Mormonism . The last Pillar of Mormonism would be that we believe the Bible to be
the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the
word of God. This is important because it sets us apart from other religions, especially other
Christian religions. There are many beliefs in Mormonism and many beliefs in Islam, and just as
the Five Pillars of Islam outline the most important beliefs of Islamic belief, the Thirteen Articles of
Faith outline the most important and basic beliefs of Mormonism. The Five Pillars of

C.Overall, RMS believes the Altisource personnel work diligently to resolve issues, however
many of the delays identified require coordination with Ocwen Loan Servicing for resolution,

appear to function smoothly, causing unnecessary delays. In these instances, RMS requests
Ocwen s oversight to escalate any issue where overall timelines appear extended D.Eviction

Circumstantial Evidence Analysis
Evidence is every considerable type of proof legally presented at a trial it also must be approved by
a judge. The reason why we use evidence is to help convince the judge or jury of supposed facts
that relate to the case. Witnesses who testify, an expert who has information on certain fields of
work, paperwork, records, photos etc. are all types of evidencethat could be used in a case.
Circumstantial evidence is evidence that aims to come to a conclusion by stating the cause while
logically trying to prove the facts. The arguments and statements lawyers present to the judge and a
judge who wants to make a statement can be ruled with an objection therefore it is not consider
evidence. During a testimony a witness must swear under oath to say nothing but the truth that way
her testimony can be considered the truth since they no way of know if it is the truth or not. If
they are caught in a lie consequences will be brought down on the witness and in some cases it can
completely throw out the case.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

present certain evidence that has nothing to do with the case or determining a fact. For example,
gory details to prove support a point or fact may possibly be irrelevant, so it may outweigh its

such inappropriate details because of the possibility in undue prejudice. The court only wants the

Threats Against Big Companies And People Across The World
Threats against big companies and people across the world isn t a trending topic. A lack of
protection from within the platforms can create internal, external, and political problems for people
and business companies. Internally, hackers try to compromise computers and gather sensitive
information from the inside as if it was their private property. Externally, hackers gather
information for their own personal gain and to pose a great threat from outside of the business or
person s home because they can find access into the system a lot easier with new advanced
technology. Over time, computerhacking has grown into something that is essentially a worldwide
problem in countries like North Korea, Russia, the United States, and China that is. Overall, some
these countries are trying to eliminate and capture hackers and produce a stronger more secure
based program for all of the computer platforms. The literature points out that the only way of
fixing the problem with hackers is to invest much more money into producing a more secure
securitysystem for all platforms that is basically impossible to decode or enter the program.
The six sources I examined on this topic agreed on many aspects. The first way that they
corroborated each other was on the issue that companies have a lack of secure security among the
platforms. Myra Din (2015) wrote an article called Breaching and Entering: When Data Scraping

Native Americans And The Native American Tribe
Different Cultures The Europeans and the Native Americans arguably do not co exist because
different groups did not allow them to be their own tribes. The Europeans treated the Indians
with as little respect as possible. The Indians were used to work including the women and

from beatings and other tragedies among their tribes. The Native American tribes wanted peace
within their groups although they were fighting with the Europeans and killings between the two

The Visual Adisement Of An Advert Analysis Of Tux Soap
The visual text about the Tux Soap is an advertisement created to convince women that using Tux
Soap for their body will improve their complexion and make them appear more visually appealing.
It is targeted at women, aged between thirteen to fifty because society seems to demand that it is
essential for women to look extraordinarily beautiful and have flawless skin. The advertisement
appeals to the targeted audienceas the beautiful womanon the advertisement with flawless skin
entices young and older women to want to try Tux soap.
Visual techniques evident in advertisement include the title, which conveys the message that
Most men ask Is she pretty? Not Is she clever? . The title misleads women by persuading them
that men only look at aspects of beauty but not intelligence or kindness. However, it is extremely
effective as women will be attracted to the advertisement in how they can allow their beauty to be
seen and would want to read more into it. Furthermore, the dull background colours such as the
light blue and grey shades make the woman s flawless skin and her fair complexion appear more
prominent and appealing to the eye, satisfying the audience. Moreover, the advertisement includes
a larger size for the words, Most men ask Is she pretty? and a smaller size is utilised for not Is she
clever? this differentiation convinces the audience that being prettier is more important than being
clever. It makes us sense that beauty is more powerful than intelligence.

The Detrimental Effects of Drugs on Homeless Veterans
Thesis: The usage of drugs in the homeless veteran community, has contributed to a challenging
recovery from the disadvantage of homelessness; the federal government needs to create more
programs in order to help these veterans. In America today, there are between 2.3 and 3.5 million
people experiencing homelessness, and nearly one quarter of all homeless adults have served in the
armed forces. There are about 200,000 veterans experiencing homelessness on any given night.
Considering that this number is so large, there should be several federal agencies helping, but there
is not. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is the only agency that works to resolve the issue

Symptoms And Treatment Of Peptic Ulcer Disease
What is PUD H. Pylori?
In the system of the gastrointestinal tract, there are some conditions that can affect quality of life
and is common. One of these conditions is called peptic ulcer disease (PUD) or also known as H.
Pylori (Helicobacter pylori), which is the bacteria associated with PUD that causes the infection
that leads to PUD. Almost two thirds of the world is affected with this infection, unbeknownst to
the host (Moscou, page 421). This infection is introduced in the body through contaminated

Once ingested, buffers are released and the bacteria is able to survive despite the acidic conditions

Example Of The Values And Values Of Mahatma Gandhi
Question 1
A)Yes I agree that these are examples of personal mission statements
In the first source Mahatma Gandhi states his values and goals by which he adheres to daily! It
helps him PRIORITISE and plan his daily routine and motivates him to stay on the right path in life.
Even when challenged in his daily life, his mission statement helps him stay focused on his goals,
thus motivating him to succeed! Dr Stephen R Covey stated that Gandhi worked within himself
until he won the private victory and learned the philosophy of his life . (Covey, 2008) This clearly
emphasises the fact that his mission statement personal he strove to make himself a better person in
order to change the world around him

He realised that he needed to change the minds of his fellow people in order to gain
independence for India. He had no formal authority or positon but used his moral authority to
achieve this. He lived by his mission statement I shall not fear anyone on Earth, I shall fear only
God to reach out to the hearts of the 300 million people in India. He showed them hope and
showed them that they too could rise up peacefully against oppression.
In the days leading to India gaining independence Gandhi could have easily assumed a leading
role in taking a powerful role in government. He didn t do that! Instead he wanted to unite his
people and here we can see he lived by his philosophy in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all
suffering he endured the hardship of going on yet another hunger strike just to show his people that
they now do not need to infight but stand together peacefully! Alas he failed this time round with
India splitting into 2 over a religious divide, but he stayed true to his mission statement he endured

Descriptive Essay On Crystal Cave
Crystal Cave Crystal Cave is full of life. My favorite vacation was the time my family and I went
to Pennsylvania s Crystal Cave. Crystal Cave is one of Pennsylvania s most famous tourist
attractions, which was discovered in 1881. Crystal Cave was once completely submerged
underwater and was formed by an earthquake. It was July 2017, that my family and I were
staying in a hotel room in Pennsylvania. We had many things planned for this trip, so we always
had something to do. One of the places I saw we were going to was a cavecalled Crystal Cave. I had
no knowledge of this cave, so I didn t know what to expect. But I had remembered the last cave I
went to here, Penns Cave. I loved that place, I was fascinated there. So I told my family that I
wanted to go to Crystal Cave, so we packed some things and went.
When we first arrived there, the showed us a 4 5 minute video about Crystal Cave. I learned that
the cave was founded in 1881 by two brothers, William and George Vanasse. I also learned that
they had both carved their names in the walls of the cave and you can still see them right now.
But Crystal Cave wasn t just a normal cave that you explore in, back then, people used it for
weddings, parties, etc. The room where they held these events is still fully functional, so you
can still go in there, but I don t think you can have a party in there anymore. When we finally got
into the cave, our tour guide told us that there are colonies of brown bats living in the cave, but
they have their own part of the cave, so you can t bother them. It was cold in the cave, so
everyone wore a sweatshirt. We also saw many different rock formations such as animals, ice
cream, and even one that looks like Donald Duck! There were many glistening and shining crystals
that William and George had thought were diamonds, but they were just a very common crystal.
They had a cave formation that you could touch. The tour guide called them rotten eggs because
they looked like eggs that had been dropped and never cleaned up. When I touched them, they were
smooth and moist, yet somehow warm and lumpy. They had a rare rock formation, a column! A
column is created when a stalactite and a stalagmite combine together form one long pillar. These

The Bible Is True And Not Myths
Archaeology has verified that the bible is true but how? First, archeology has confirmed the
biblical stories are true and not myths, as the world believed, because of ancient sites and
civilizations discovered. Second, manuscripts that were found and translated has shown people
today how the people back in the biblelived and worked. Last but not least, archeology has shown
where major events, like battles, have gone on and during what year, they happened. According to
Archeology and the Old Testament, the book of Judges took place around the Iron Ageperiod, which
was 1200 586 BC. Excavations have provided some useful information about daily life in ancient
Israelduring Judges, including the land, climate and people. However, before we learn about
how people lived their daily lives in Israel during the Iron Ages, we should learn about the
geography of Israel. The land of Israel stretches from Dan in the North to Beersheba in the South
and from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the Transjordan in the east. Israel s landscape is
divided into five main regions and even though the regions are in the same place they all receive
different amounts of rain, which produce different crops. The first region, the coastal plain, goes
along the Mediterranean coast to Rosh HaNiqura, receives about 25 to 16 inches of rain which is
a great place to grow grain. The second region, is the central mountain range that goes from Galilee
to Negev Highlands; this region receives from 20 to

As mentioned within the paper, there are benefits to having services provided by both public and
private entities; however, there are also concerns. The public sector, which was portrayed by
services offered by TJJD, are required to provide yearly reports. In many ways these reports
keep the system accountable for the money they are spending and the services they provide or
require for juvenile offenders. The reports are open to the public and are easily accessible. As it
relates to research, these reports allow people to critically assess juvenile programs, while
challenging the government to refine or create programs superior to the ones offered in the past.
Reports like these are harder to find regarding services offered by private entities and is a
concern. Programs in which juvenile offenders are required to successfully complete, should never
be determined by trial and error; however, this is often the case. On a positive note, private entities
and community resources typically target the specific needs of a juvenile and include mental health
components. Programs which do not offer mental health services should be critically assessed, as
they are less likely to succeed. It is important that continued research is applied to the programs
offered by both the public and private sectors. As it stands today, treatment services offered

Using A Systems Theory Model
Open Systems A system interdependent on groups of people or items working together to complete
a specific goal is known as an open system (Cordan, 2013). Healthcare organizations are usually
designed around systems that interact with outside environments, indicating that they are open
systems (Cordan, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to use a systems theorymodel to examine a
workflow problem within an open system unit, in one organization, and design a solution to the
workflow issue.
Systems Theory Description
Cardiac and Vascular holding unit is an eight bed unit open system unit in that this unit regularly
exchanges feedback with the outside environment. The unit staff is responsible for providing care
to patients receiving invasive patient both inpatients and outpatients vascular or cardiac procedures.
Myers and O Brien Pallas, 2010, contend that an open system, Nursing Services Delivery Theory
(NSDT), certain concepts: input, output, throughput combine to influence work demands achieve
goals and complete daily workflow task
Input
In the CAV input is derived from: patients, staff, materials outside data sources, and funding. Input
is essentially the flow of energy exchange from outside sources that renews or sustains the system
(Meyer, O Brien Pallas, 2010). For this particular unit input can also be impacted by the particular
insurance standard indicting the medical necessity of certain procedures. When energies are
transformed within the system it then indicates

Persecution In The Crucible
From the slave trade to the Salem witch trials, persecution has been part of the foundation of
America since before it was established. The slave trade tore people out of their homes and
forced them to work for someone else s benefit. The witch trials showed the accused as guilty no
matter how they defended themselves. The enslavement of indigenous people in the Indies forced
innocents to give up what was theirs so others could make a profit. While many people came to
America to escape persecution, these events led to America becoming a country based on the
exploitation of others. Equiano and The Crucible s use of hatred and fear towards minority groups
as well as Columbus s use of indigenous people for personal gain emphasize that Americans... Show

As soon as Columbus lands in the Indies, he claims the land for Spain. He wrote, There I found
very many islands, filled with people innumerable, and of them all I have taken possession...and
no opposition was offered to me (Columbus 1). He immediately takes possession of everything
despite not knowing exactly where he is. He then renames all of the islands as if they belong to
him. He doesn t care that other people already live there. The letter from de las Casas reveals the
terrible things Columbus and his men did by enslaving the natives. He forced the people living
on the islands to work for him without pay. de las Casas wrote, [The Spaniards] have brought to
the island of Hispaniola and the island of San Juan more than two million souls taken captive,
and have sent them to do hard labor in the mines, labors that caused many of them to die (de las
Casas 6). de las Casas emphasizes that these people were forced to work against their will, and
he notes that many of these people died because of it. Then, like sheep, they are sorted out into

moneys they have invested... he wrote (6). He shows that the people were treated and sold like
animals. Columbus and his men used them to make money, forcing them to gather natural
resources that he could sell. de las Casas wrote about one instance of this. Some of the natives
had to dive for pearls, which required them to be underwater for long periods of time. He wrote,

concepts of love for their fellow men, when they place the bodies of the Indians in such mortal
danger... (6). He s calling these men immoral, showing how they don t care about the lives of their

The Changing Choice In The Kite Runner By Khaled Hosseini
Have you ever made a choice that has changed your life forever whether it was in a good or bad
way? Well one choice you make can change someone s life forever whether it s in a good way or
bad way. Here in America we mostly see one choice change our lives for the better like being in a
relationship, taking a job oppurtunity, going to college to get a career, all of these things change
our lives for the better. In afghanistan a lot of their choices change their lives for the worst such as
deciding not to follow their dress code, bullying others because of what they are, not following the
Taliban s rules that they have to follow or they would get hurt. Khaled Hosseinis, The Kite Runner,
teaches the reader that one choice can change your life forever through Amir letting Hassan get
bullied and Amir getting rid of Hassan.
In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini the main character Amir makes a choice that changes
his life forever, which was to let Hassan get bullied and hurt by Assef. It was after the kite
running game Hassan left and nobody knew where he went. Amir was searching all over for
him and found him in an alley. In the alley Hassan was with Assef and Assefs friends, they were
bullying him. Amir was going to save him but did not. They just continued to bully Hassan and
eventually raped him because he was being rude to Assef and Amir just stood there and ran away.
Hosseini insist that, In the end i ran. I ran because I was a coward. I was afraid of Assef and what

The network rather like a child makes up its own rules that match the data it receives to the result it

characteristic of neural networks that makes them best suited to simulate human behavior.
Computer scientists have exploited this system characteristic to achieve breakthroughs in computer
vision, speech recognition, and optical character recognition. Figure 1 illustrates the knowledge
structures of neural networks as compared to expert systems and standard computer programs.
Neural networks restructure their knowledge base at each step in the learning process. This paper
focuses on neural network technologies which have the potential to increase security for financial
transactions. Much of the technology is currently in the research phase and has yet to produce a
commercially available product, such as visual recognition applications. Other applications are a

Steroids Is Not The Ideal Choice For Many Health Reasons
Alex Rodriguez, from the New York Yankees, suspended for 162 games for using steroids
(History). The use of steroids has forever changed the world of professional sports, making it a
world fueled by drug contacts instead of skill and talent. Steroids could possibly be legalized
although there are many risks, people are caught everyday using steroids, people could be
harmed from using steroids, and many negative consequences are caused from the use of
steroids. Steroids are not the ideal choice for many health reasons. The use of steroids in men can
cause a plethora of changes some being mental, or physical. Changing these features and looks in
men can cause many social issues with others. They could be unwanted in social groups and not
fit in. There are many alterations in men, shrinking of the testicles, baldness, breast development,
languid, and infertility. Shrinking of the testicles is caused by using steroids for too long, or
taking a higher dose than prescribed. Male pattern baldness occurs when the follicle, which is
where hair grows out of, becomes smaller which can be caused from steroids. When men take
steroids, more estrogen is being produced caused from the overflow of testosterone, breasts can
develop. Another risk from males using steroids is infertility, which means that a person cannot
have kids (Fitness). Women can have some of the same changes like men. Some risks just for
women include an increase of body hair, facial hair, baldness, deeper voice,

Max Weber’s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of...
Max Weber s work The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism is arguably one of the most
important works in all of sociology and social theory, both classical and modern. In the decades
since its inception, this work has gone on to influence generations of social scientists with its
analysis of the effect of Protestantismon the development of modern industrial capitalism. This
work, examining such broad topics as religion, economics, and history, is not only an interesting
and insightful look into the history of the development of capitalism, but a major work in laying a
foundation for future works of social theory. Max Webers main contention in this work is that what

Catholics are more likely to pursue a career in the crafts, and become master craftsmen, whereas
Protestants are more likely to seek work in factories, and become skilled workers and
administrators (Weber, 6). He says that the differences in the economic outcomes of the two
different religious groups can be seen the character of their religious beliefs, not just in the historical
and material conditions that they came from. Many claim that Catholics were more focused on
other worldly things, whereas Protestants were more materialistic in their outlook (Weber, 8). But
Weber disagrees with this, saying Hardly anything shows so clearly as this parallel that, with such
vague ideas as that of the alleged otherworldliness of Catholicism, and the alleged material joy of
living of Protestantism,...nothing can be accomplished for our purpose (Weber, 9). Protestantism
combines an aggressive capitalistic business sense with an extreme sense of piety and asceticism.
The Protestant denominations created a distinction between capital acquisition, which could be a
good thing, and the spending of wealth, which was considered immoral. Protestants did not
accumulate wealth in order to spend it, as many other groups would have done and had done
throughout history. Therefore, Weber states, If any inner relationship between certain expressions
of the old Protestant spirit and modern capitalistic culture is to be found, we must attempt to find
it, for better or for worse not in its alleged

Consequences Of Parental Divorce For Child Development
Economical: As divorce separates families, this situation can cause financial hardship on divorce
families as each household transition from two incomes to one. This reduced income can place
economic and financial struggles of single parents trying to support children. Separated parents are
now each responsible for individual housing, utilities, and various other expenses. With divorce,
there are high legal fees that result from the divorce proceedings and custody battles over children.
These economical issues can place additional stress on the families and children.
Developmental
Another potential impact of divorce on children can be seen through their development. The article,
Consequences of Parental Divorce for Child Development, by H. Kim (2011) reviews the impact
of divorce on children s development. This study compares children before and after divorce to
measure the implications towards development. This study found that children had setbacks in test
scores, interpersonal skills, were more likely to internalize behaviour (Kim, 2011). This study did
not find any external behaviour issues or reduced reading capability (Kim, 2011). This information
demonstrates the divorce issues can impact their learning abilities, which is something crucial to
everyday life. The developmental impacts can coincide with future learning abilities and academic
achievement in some children dealing with parental divorce.

accomplishment would be to determine the visual and taste fondness of three gluten free

recommendations of gluten free products and it would help nurses in the appearance of foods
being served to patients. Kildegaard et al. have presented that the way the food looks will define
if the child will eat it or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select healthier foods than boys at all
ages. Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of celiac
disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The independent variables are the
four different brands of three gluten free products, and the dependent variable is the high
preference of appearance test. The children used the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the
different foods. The visual tests always showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste

important to make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the
food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve been

Citizens United for Arguments

Resolved: On balance, the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election
Commission is undemocratic.
We affirm.
To better the round, we clarify the following:
First, the definition of election process
ELECTIONS are based on three organizing concepts: equal respect, free choice, and popular
sovereignty are the building blocks of fair and just elections. The democratic process should treat
all citizens as free and equal persons. As applied to the electoral process this requires that each
citizen equal opportunity to have his or her vote equally counted.

3. Citizens United increases political polarization
A. Increased levels of political spending increase polarization
In the 2012 Presidential election, the majority of outside spending was a result of the Citizens
United decision1. The unique increase of money translated into an increase in television ads, radio
ads, and direct mailings. Unfortunately, the large increase in political rhetoric caused a move to
political extremes rivaling those at the end of the Civil War2. It explains that micro targeting of
advertising allowed corporations and Super PACS to create echo chambers, where only points of
view in agreement with the audience were expressed. Polarization was an issue before the Citizens
United ruling, but the unique increase in rhetoric caused the worst polarization in 120 years.
B. Polarization causes increasing amounts of low information voters
Increased shifts to the political extremes causes voters to vote in lockstep with party leaders.
Polarized voters are less informed on energy, healthcare, education, and other key issues4. Polarized
voters also ignore fundamental arguments in favor of partisanship. When told that their party
endorsed a certain stance, the polarized voters became more supportive, regardless of facts.

Betrayal In The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe
In the novel, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, betrayal takes place in many situations

Schizoid Personality Disorder Essays
At one point in our lives or another, we have all been to school, we have all been into the
lunchroom, and we have all seen those few children that sit by themselves and don t say anything,
don t look around, and don t seem even the least bit interested. The greater parts of society looks at
these odd children and then brushes them off and say to themselves Oh they are just weird, I
wouldn t want to be their friend either. But have you ever stopped and thought maybe its something
deeper? Maybe these kids have a mental disorder that causes them to be that way. Maybe, just
maybe, its not even their own choice but its forced upon them by abusive and neglectful parents
that obliterate their children s trust so far that they cant even... Show more content on

Some of the chemicals may be low, or too high, causing a person to not be able to process
decisions and emotions correctly ( Schizoid Personality 1). Another possibility is stress, emotional
stress to be exact. This stress can originate from untimely deaths, financial stress, or traumatic
situations ( Schizoid Personality 1). The final and my personal belief of the cause are the parents
and family of the effected. If the effected person grows up in a family of emotionally detached
individuals, parents that abuse them, or parents that neglect them fully, they are at a dramatically
increased risk of developing Schizoid personality disorder. Children that grow up with schizoid
personality disorder do not form deep relationships with anyone and usually do not seek help do
to the fact that they feel misunderstood. If we do not seek relationships to build as young adults,
marriage will not be coming anytime. As their lives progress, Schizoids show a poorly balanced
sexual instinct [and] strikingly fruitless love affairs (Akhtar 500). Without a regular sexual
instinct, marriage is a seemingly impossible task. If they are ever capable of opening up and
marrying someone, they are prone to neglect the relationship with their spouse and do not show any
type of interest in

Solution Focused Brief Therapy Essay
Introduction
The emergence of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) marked a changing of the guard within
the realm of psychotherapy. For the previous century, the profession had been dominated by
theories and practices, which was focused on unearthing a client s repressed memories or family
issues in hopes of identifying cracks in their mental and/or their emotional foundation that needed to
be fixed. The change in perspective and approach presented by Steven de Shazer and his
counterparts provided therapist and clients alike an opportunity to center in on the presenting issue,
instead of prolonging the process in search of hidden truths. While de Shazer presented an
alternative thought process to the therapeutic process, his model was the culmination of various
therapist and models continuing to push the envelope.
Historical Background
The American psychiatrist, Milton Erickson had been credited as one of the pioneers for stepping
away from conventional thinking. He suggested therapy must be intensive and required a long term
commitment. In fact, his stance of successful therapy often did not necessitate a lengthy therapeutic
relationship along with a small change by the client was the catalyst needed to bring about larger
change are both cornerstones in SFBT (Visser, 2013). Psychiatrist Gregory Bateson was
responsible for two significant contributions in the development of SFBT. The first was his view
that the social environment each person resides in has a

Secondly, Pier 1 has established product differentiation. Pier 1 provides unique products to their
customers which builds customer loyalty and is less likely to lose market share to a competitor
than an advantage based on cost (Faulkenberry, n.d.).
Risk/Opportunity
Challenges that face Pier 1 Imports include the rising cost of raw materials and low investments in
research and development. There are also external business risks and changes within tax laws that
prove to be a challenge for Pier 1.
Opportunities that are available to Pier 1 Imports include new markets as well as new products
and services. Also, in this era of DIY home improvement projects there is a growing demand for
merchandise provided by Pier 1 Imports such as the pillar candle holder.
Conclusions
Pier 1 Imports should continue providing this pillar candle holder to its consumers as well as other
candle holders that would appeal to their customers. This market will continue to grow with the
growing economy and growing demand. While the target market is women age 25 34, this group
will no doubt increase as more homeowners look to DIY projects for home improvement.
The competition for Pier 1 Imports in candle holder sales will increase as more retailers are selling
candles and candle holders. Candle holders are not limited to being sold at specialty stores such as
Pier 1 Imports and Yankee; candles and candle holders are found at big box

Tim Burton s Auteur Theory
According to Andrew Sarris Notes on the Auteur Theory in 1962, there is no definition of the
auteur theory in the English language. Outgrowing the cinematic theories of Andre Bazin and
Alexandra Astruc, arising in France in the late 1940s, auteur theory became the theory of
filmmaking where the director is deemed as the major creative force in a film. A foundation stone of
the French Cinematic movement known as the novelle vague , or New Wave , the theory of
director as author was principally advanced in Bazin s periodical Cahiers du cinema founded in
1951 (Britannica, 2015). So what truly makes a director an auteur? As it s believed that an auteur is
the author of their film, there are three premises of the auteur theorythat makes a director... Show

Over a group of films, a director must exhibit certain recurrent characteristics of style, which
serves as his signature. The way a film looks and moves should have some relationship to the
way a director thinks and feels. (Sarris) Tim burton s vision of the world is reflected in themes
that are strongly shown throughout in his films. The gothic imagery with his ghostly music and
misfit theme is a predominant part of Burton s signature making his films easily recognisable.
Being a misfit is one of Burton s most concentrated themes. In his films such as: Edward
Scissorhands (1990), Alice in Wonderland (2010), Corpse Bride (2005), and Vincent (1982), the
gothic imagery and misfit is a recurring theme where the protagonist is a misfit in their society
and isolates themselves from society until finally finding a way embrace themselves and their
differences to the social norm. Edward Scissorhands being the most resounding evidence of pure
auteur ship shows that Burton did not only direct it but conceptualise and commission the
screenplay, in this way, the attitudes toward the themes and combination of the specific themes,
can be understood as pure creations of the director. Though not only does Burton utilise this
constant theme of gothic imagery and misfit but he is also known for collaborating with the same
actors when creating his films, such as Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter who are both
featured in Dark Shadows (2012),Ed wood (1984),Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) just
to name a few. Burton also has the recurring use of the same composer Danny Elfman to set a tone
that is easily recognised as Burton s films. By collaborating with the same people who have assisted
in the production of his films creates consistency within Burton s

Essay about Gandhi Obituary
Indian leader, Mohandas Gandhi died at the age of 78 on January 30, 1948 at 5:12 p.m.
Mohandas Gandhi was known throughout the world for his nonviolent protests against both
British rule and interreligious fighting. Gandhi was born in the town of Porbander, and received
his schooling in Rajkot where his father was an advisor to the local ruler. Mohandas Gandhi
married a girl named Kasturba. Both were thirteen years old at the time. At the age of 19,
Gandhi decided to travel to England to receive his degree in law. Gandhi left his son Harilal who
was a few months old with his wife. While in England, Mohandas came across new cultures,
people, and ideas. Gandhi quickly received his law degree and was called to the bar in 1891, but

Gandhi soon became involved in helping the untouchables, or the lowest and poorest Indian
class. Gandhi founded newspapers to spread his ideas and to educate the public. In early 1930,
the Indian National Congress declared that India would not be satisfied until India received
complete independence from Britain. On March 2nd, 1930, Gandhi sent a letter to the Viceroy,
Lord Irwin, forcefully saying that if Indian demands were not met, he would be forced to violate
the salt laws. The Lord ignored his letter. Gandhi began a 240 mile trek to the sea with 78 of his
followers. As the trek continued, more and more people joined Mohandas Gandhi, and by the
time Gandhi arrived at the sea thousands of people stood behind him. Gandhi picked up a clump
of sea salt along with thousands of others. Gandhi was soon arrested for his actions along with tens
of thousands of others. Gandhi was pardoned to travel to England for negotiations which
accomplished nothing, and was arrested upon his return to India. After his release three months
later, Mohandas Gandhi spent years involved in constructive reformation. When World War II
broke out, Gandhi encouraged India to remain neutral. In his speech to the Indian people he told
the nation, Do or die. During his final years, Gandhi walked from town to town where Hindus
were being murdered in retaliation for the killings of Muslims of Bihar. The massacres and fighting

Cochlear Implants Benefits
A Cost Benefit Analysis of Cochlear Implants
To this day, medical professionals and scientists dialogue about the issue of providing cochlear
implants, electronic devices to aid one s auditory perception, to the overall deaf population
(NIDCD). Some claim they should be given to deaf children and adults, while others oppose this
perspective, because of vexatious burdens that supersede few benefits.
Currently, some contradictory notions on this topic of distribution include disputes about offering
an opportunity offering the ability to hear conversations the way normal people would, or just
accepting the deafness as a gift (Licht, Hull, Ballantyne 116). These bionic ears present
opportunities to expand social interactions, permitting one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

More than 70,000 deaf Americans have received cochlear implants since the FDA approved
their use in 1985 for adults and for children in 1990 (ASHA Quick Facts 1). Since doctors
externally implant the device and link it to the auditory nerve, a hearing impaired child can detect
noises slightly faster than adults who hear normally. Supporting this conclusion, findings from the
University of Iowa s otolaryngology department studies concluded that younger children tend to
acclimate more easily, because most have not yet become accustomed to speaking with others.
The results also revealed that the earlier the procedure occurs, the more benefit that is reaped
over the long run (Cochlear Implant article, Aggen 1). In addition, this early action , top dollar
implant proves to be one of the most cost effective medical procedures, when one takes into
consideration the cost required to address it later in life due to rising costs of the implants, or the
lack of hearing takes a downturn. Nevertheless, cochlear implants do indeed provide a level of
hearing previously deemed

The Link Between Our Minds And Our Environment
Our senses are the link between our minds and our environment; we rely on them for our tactical,
olfactory, visual, auditory and gustatory acquisition of knowledge. Our dependence on our senses
for knowledge makes our need to critically evaluate the information they deliver higher. The only
way a knower can achieve a state of perceptive, yet thoughtful, acquisition of knowledge is by
maintaining a balance between trusting our senses and assessing their congruence with pre existing
knowledge. The sole purpose of a knower it to contribute to society in a positive manner. One must
make an impact on the community with the knowledge they have acquired. The president of a
nation who creates decisions contributes to society and even forming and sharing opinions in class
can positively impact a community. The knowledge of a knower determines the overall content and
effect of the contribution made, whether it is positive or negative. The primary sources of
information are sigh, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. These are the five senses, which are the
gateway of accessing knowledge from his experiences and the environment. In order to determine
the truth of the senses, a knower has to first compare his sensory perceptions to his pre existing
knowledge and determine whether the information is congruent. However this process occurs
without the knower realizing it. A knower does not question every sight, smell, sound, touch and
taste, but rather accepts them in the context of his

Analysis of When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats Essay
Analysis of When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats
When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats, represents and elderly woman reminiscing of her
younger days. A past lover whispers to her as she looks through a photo album. Basically, Yeats is
showing that as the woman gets older, she is alone, but she does not have to be lonely. She will
always have her memories for companionship.
When you are old and grey and full of sleep, and nodding by the fire (l.1 2) depicts the woman in
her age, needing to nap more frequently. He speaks of a book (l.2) and the soft look of her eyes (l.3
4). This book signifies a photo album that contains pictures of her as young adult.
Yeats speaks of her glad grace (l.5) as her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
?And love the sorrows of your changing face? (l.8) means simply that even as her face aged, the
love he felt for her grew stronger.
?And bending down beside the glowing bars,? (l.9) could be translated to ?as you?re bending
down to stoke the fire,? she?ll mumble to herself about his death, ?how Love fled? (l.10) and his
soul climbing to heaven to live ?amid a crowd of stars? (l.12).
In the last verse of When you are Old, William Butler Yeats uses personification of love to
enhance the image of the late lover waiting for the elderly woman. Lines 10 12 ?Murmur, a little
sadly, how Love fled, and paced upon the mountains overhead and hid his face amid a crowd of
stars? give personal qualities to love. By capitalizing love, it becomes its own being, which waits
impatiently, hence pacing the mountain. Yeats gives love a face hidden in the stars. The ?face? is
love?s distinguishing characteristics, such as tenderness and sensitivity.
The conclusion of When You are Old leaves the woman smiling to herself over the memories she
has. She knows that one day she will be reunited with her true love, so she can live the remainder
of her life peacefully.
I personally love this poem. It leaves me with a feeling of contentment, just thinking that someone
with a little age, and all alone can look back upon her life and keep smiling until it is her time to
be united with her soul mate. Usually when we consider the elderly, it is in a

Biopsychosocial Model
Within this assignment, it will discuss the case study which looks at Jane whom is 34 and has a
diagnosis of Bipolar disorder. A Mental Health Nurse (MHN) should utilise the case study to
discuss the knowledge and skills required to plan and evaluate person centred care. The essay will
reference to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct (2015) and the National
Institute for Healthand Care Excellence (NICE) which has clear guidelines for high quality care.
The essay will also discuss the principles in which a nurse should implement person centred care
and its importance.

how Bipolar disorder could potentially be after depression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First and foremost, it is significant that the MHN complies with keeping complete
confidentiality in terms with the NHS Code of Practice (Department of Health, 2003). Jane has
been informed by her doctor that she has a diagnosis of Bipolar mood disorder. Using the
biopsychosocial model (Engel, 1977) the MHN should determine the biological, psychological
and social aspects for Jane s treatments, to give her the best care possible. This relates to person
centred care as the biopsychosocial model is providing a modern and holistic approach to care
(Borrell Carrio, Suchman Epstein, 2004). Within the NMC Code, it writes to prioritise people
which includes treating service users with respect, encouraging service users to make decisions
about their care and act in the best interest of people (NMC Code of Conduct, 2015). This is
imperative to developing a relationship with the service user that is professional yet also caring
and compassionate. This also links to the 6Cs: care, compassion, communication, competence,
courage and commitment, which should be adhered to by the MHN in Jane s care plan. (NHS
England, 2016). The MHN should develop a care programme with Jane, using the Care
Programme Approach, whereby a care programme should be conducted and monitored throughout
Jane s treatment (Kingdon, 1994). This will help Jane and the MHN as it gives a clear view of
the treatment plan that is also patient centred and Jane will feel involved in her care plan, which
will ensure that Jane s care is provided in a therapeutic manner and at the highest standard

Negative Effects Of Coming Out Gay
The Effects of Coming out Gay
Many negative stereotypes are the cause of homosexuals failing to come out the closet to their
friends, family and loved ones. There are also positive effects to coming out as well but the
negative opinions of some has triumphed across the nation during the last decade. Even though it
may seem that our country has come a long way and accepts homosexuals, we still have a long
way to go. Why do such stereotypes override the good effects of coming out gay? Coming out as a
homosexual improves the quality of life such as making the individual feel confident and happier
within. My own experience will serve as an example on how these things can reduce the
confidence level in someone that wants to be open to friends, family and loved ones.
No one wants to admit that they believe some of the stereotypes that get out regarding
homosexual men. However, it is reality that specific stereotypes regarding gay men has erupted
in our society and becoming more prevalent today than in the past. As I mentioned above, I am
going to take you through step by step when I came out the closet and the effect it had on my life
and my mental stability. One of the common stereotypes is Gay men are promiscuous . I guess it s
hard for some to understand that promiscuity doesn t just favor gay men. This type of stereotype
made me think of what society thought of me and prolonged me coming out. There are others that
state that Gay men are overly dramatic . These types of

Narrative Essay On High School
The last bell rang, and all the kids at Southport County High School bombarded the door of the
classroom. It was Friday and all the kids attempted to jam through the door at once. Jane, who sat
at the back of the class, waited quietly for her peers to leave. When all the kids clogging the door
had left, she rose from her desk, told her language teacher, Mrs. Phyllis, Goodbye, and sauntered
into a stream of shouting kids.
Jane was a petite tenth grader. Her hair was naturally brown and her eyes blue, she was quiet,
reserved, and only spoke to her close friends and family. Her mother worked seven days a week at
the local diner, Fry Cakes, and her dad left her mother when Jane was merely a baby. Sometimes
she missed her dad, even though she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the stirring of one of the people on the ground helped wake her up. Jane started rifling
through the supplies. There were three water bottles and purifying drops. Four sleeping bags,
countless cans of chicken noodle soup and three backpacks with one knife, a rain poncho, jacket,
and freeze dried food packets.
The other teenagers lying on the ground stirred and awoke. The first one to stand was the boy.
He had golden brown hair, it was almost blonde, his eyes were a startling shade of green. His
features were soft and round, like a child s.
Finally, the girl stood, she had long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was also tall and thin. The two
could pass for brother and sister, or at least cousins. They stared, shocked, at Jane and the supplies
that she stood in front of. Hey, Jane said quietly.
So what are we here for? the girl inquired. Jane had figured out that the girl s name was Sammy
and the boy s name was Tom, and they were, in fact, first cousins.
I don t know, Jane replied, this note was the only thing I saw around this mound of supplies.

It seems easy, watch some kids for a few hours and you have yourself $20, but after my experience, you ll see it s not that easy. I was 14 and babysitting at a house bigger than the White House. Inside there were multiple high class fish tanks, furniture that cost more than a car, and everything from the floors to the ceilings was brand new. It was just me, a _____ dog, and three little boys, two of them were ten and one was six. I was babysitting overnight. I love being an over the top babysitter so I usually bring fun crafts and games to entrain the kids. This night was no exception and I had brought a make your own lava lamp kit for them to create. It was simple, mix oil, water, and food coloring into a cup and Tadaa! An amazing lava lamp appeared. Unfortunately, the younger boy named Austin got blue food coloring all in his small hands. I told him to scrub it off I the sink and then to dry his hands. Then went back to mixing their creations when the first ten year old boy, Justin, shrieked Julia! Julia! Look!!! Whipping my head around, I saw something no one would ever want to see. Something an enemy wouldn t wish on a person. Something that would send a shiver down your back. This something was a fire. Black smoke was already forming to the point where I couldn t even see what was behind the flames. Screaming and shouting at the kids , I told them to go into the back room close to ... • 4. The Love Experience In The Story Of A Love Story I know, I know, everybody writes about a love story. However, this one wasn t a love story from the beginning. We all seem to be in search of that special someone , or so they call it. In my experience, it never works through seeking a person out. Ask any married couple that has been together for a while if they found each other by searching for their type . It usually doesn t work that way, loveis usually accidental. I, being a prime example of how it starts, will share my story with you. Every year, I go to a church camp with my youth group. This is the world s largest baptist church camp, by the name of Falls Creek. What would usually happen outside of Tabernacle would be me and Tyler Hope hanging out and doing the things the camp had to offer. For the most part, that is what happened on that Monday. Then came Tuesday, the 30th of June, 2015. The day ensued as it normally would any other year: breakfast, morning bible study, small groups, lunch, large groups, dinner, and Tabernacle. However, things changed after that. I exited the sanctuary to go find Tyler, then I got distracted. Now, being the little comic book freak that I am, the thing that distracted me was a Batman hat. Of course there was a person under the hat, so I decided to talk to her. Deciding that this will be my new friend, based solely on her taste in hats, I said what any 15 year old kid would say. I said, Hey, I like your hat. (What? Were you expecting some clever line about hats?) After that, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many similarities between the religions, and of course, many differences. The Qur an is the sacred text of Islam. Muslims believe that Muhammad, at twenty three years of age, received revelation from God over the next twenty three years through the angel Gabriel. Muslims view the Qur an as God s final revelation and would not accept any other revelations. They believe that Muhammad was the final prophet. The first article of faith is probably the most important one: that we believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. The next Pillar of Mormonism would be the second article of faith in my opinion: that we believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam s transgression. The next Pillar of Mormonism would be the third article of faith:that we believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. The next and in my opinion, the most important of all our articles of faith is the fourth one: that we believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. You could also break that article of faith up and say that the four ordinances and principles listed in the fourth article of faith are four of the Pillars of Mormonism . The last Pillar of Mormonism would be that we believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. This is important because it sets us apart from other religions, especially other Christian religions. Externally, hackers gather information for their own personal gain and to pose a great threat from outside of the business or person s home because they can find access into the system a lot easier with new advanced technology. One of these conditions is called peptic ulcer disease (PUD) or also known as H. Pylori (Helicobacter pylori), which is the bacteria associated with PUD that causes the infection that leads to PUD. Almost two thirds of the world is affected with this infection, unbeknownst to the host (Moscou, page 421). This infection is introduced in the body through contaminated sources of food or water. It also can be transmitted through person to person contact by kissing. Once ingested, buffers are released and the bacteria is able to survive despite the acidic conditions of the stomach. Most people do not produce symptoms of the infection, however, there are some that may experience irritation and tissue damage from overproduction of gastric acids and peptic ulcers. Duodenal ulcers, which form in the upper region of the small intestines, are more common in younger people. Peptic ulcers tend to be more common with age as they are more likely to be infected. This disease is treatable and obliteration of the H. pylori results in ulcer cure and prevention of recurrences (Zoorob, page 243) Symptoms of PUD The symptoms of the peptic ulcer will depend on the location of it. A gastric ulcer located in the stomach will result in pain of the upper abdomen approximately 15 to 30 minutes after consumption of food. Because of the pain, one may be afraid ... • 22. Descriptive Essay On Crystal Cave Crystal Cave Crystal Cave is full of life. My favorite vacation was the time my family and I went to Pennsylvania s Crystal Cave. Crystal Cave is one of Pennsylvania s most famous tourist attractions, which was discovered in 1881. Crystal Cave was once completely submerged underwater and was formed by an earthquake. It was July 2017, that my family and I were staying in a hotel room in Pennsylvania. We had many things planned for this trip, so we always had something to do. One of the places I saw we were going to was a cavecalled Crystal Cave. I had no knowledge of this cave, so I didn t know what to expect. But I had remembered the last cave I went to here, Penns Cave. I loved that place, I was fascinated there. So I told my family that I wanted to go to Crystal Cave, so we packed some things and went. When we first arrived there, the showed us a 4 5 minute video about Crystal Cave. I learned that the cave was founded in 1881 by two brothers, William and George Vanasse. I also learned that they had both carved their names in the walls of the cave and you can still see them right now. But Crystal Cave wasn t just a normal cave that you explore in, back then, people used it for weddings, parties, etc. The room where they held these events is still fully functional, so you can still go in there, but I don t think you can have a party in there anymore. When we finally got into the cave, our tour guide told us that there are colonies of brown bats living in the cave, but they have their own part of the cave, so you can t bother them. It was cold in the cave, so everyone wore a sweatshirt. We also saw many different rock formations such as animals, ice cream, and even one that looks like Donald Duck! There were many glistening and shining crystals that William and George had thought were diamonds, but they were just a very common crystal. They had a cave formation that you could touch. The tour guide called them rotten eggs because they looked like eggs that had been dropped and never cleaned up. When I touched them, they were smooth and moist, yet somehow warm and lumpy. They had a rare rock formation, a column! A column is created when a stalactite and a stalagmite combine together form one long pillar. These ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. The Bible Is True And Not Myths Archaeology has verified that the bible is true but how? First, archeology has confirmed the biblical stories are true and not myths, as the world believed, because of ancient sites and civilizations discovered. Second, manuscripts that were found and translated has shown people today how the people back in the biblelived and worked. Last but not least, archeology has shown where major events, like battles, have gone on and during what year, they happened. According to Archeology and the Old Testament, the book of Judges took place around the Iron Ageperiod, which was 1200 586 BC. Excavations have provided some useful information about daily life in ancient Israelduring Judges, including the land, climate and people. However, before we learn about how people lived their daily lives in Israel during the Iron Ages, we should learn about the geography of Israel. The land of Israel stretches from Dan in the North to Beersheba in the South and from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the Transjordan in the east. Israel s landscape is divided into five main regions and even though the regions are in the same place they all receive different amounts of rain, which produce different crops. The first region, the coastal plain, goes along the Mediterranean coast to Rosh HaNiqura, receives about 25 to 16 inches of rain which is a great place to grow grain. The greater parts of society looks at these odd children and then brushes them off and say to themselves Oh they are just weird, I wouldn t want to be their friend either. But have you ever stopped and thought maybe its something deeper? Maybe these kids have a mental disorder that causes them to be that way. Another possibility is stress, emotional stress to be exact. This stress can originate from untimely deaths, financial stress, or traumatic situations ( Schizoid Personality 1). The final and my personal belief of the cause are the parents and family of the effected. If the effected person grows up in a family of emotionally detached individuals, parents that abuse them, or parents that neglect them fully, they are at a dramatically increased risk of developing Schizoid personality disorder. Children that grow up with schizoid personality disorder do not form deep relationships with anyone and usually do not seek help do to the fact that they feel misunderstood. If we do not seek relationships to build as young adults, marriage will not be coming anytime. As their lives progress, Schizoids show a poorly balanced sexual instinct [and] strikingly fruitless love affairs (Akhtar 500). • 41. Solution Focused Brief Therapy Essay Introduction The emergence of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) marked a changing of the guard within the realm of psychotherapy. For the previous century, the profession had been dominated by theories and practices, which was focused on unearthing a client s repressed memories or family issues in hopes of identifying cracks in their mental and/or their emotional foundation that needed to be fixed. The change in perspective and approach presented by Steven de Shazer and his counterparts provided therapist and clients alike an opportunity to center in on the presenting issue, instead of prolonging the process in search of hidden truths. While de Shazer presented an alternative thought process to the therapeutic process, his model was the culmination of various therapist and models continuing to push the envelope. Historical Background The American psychiatrist, Milton Erickson had been credited as one of the pioneers for stepping away from conventional thinking. He suggested therapy must be intensive and required a long term commitment. In fact, his stance of successful therapy often did not necessitate a lengthy therapeutic relationship along with a small change by the client was the catalyst needed to bring about larger change are both cornerstones in SFBT (Visser, 2013). Psychiatrist Gregory Bateson was responsible for two significant contributions in the development of SFBT. The first was his view that the social environment each person resides in has a ... • 44. Tim Burton s Auteur Theory According to Andrew Sarris Notes on the Auteur Theory in 1962, there is no definition of the auteur theory in the English language. Outgrowing the cinematic theories of Andre Bazin and Alexandra Astruc, arising in France in the late 1940s, auteur theory became the theory of filmmaking where the director is deemed as the major creative force in a film. A foundation stone of the French Cinematic movement known as the novelle vague , or New Wave , the theory of director as author was principally advanced in Bazin s periodical Cahiers du cinema founded in 1951 (Britannica, 2015). So what truly makes a director an auteur? As it s believed that an auteur is the author of their film, there are three premises of the auteur theorythat makes a director... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over a group of films, a director must exhibit certain recurrent characteristics of style, which serves as his signature. The way a film looks and moves should have some relationship to the way a director thinks and feels. (Sarris) Tim burton s vision of the world is reflected in themes that are strongly shown throughout in his films. The gothic imagery with his ghostly music and misfit theme is a predominant part of Burton s signature making his films easily recognisable. Being a misfit is one of Burton s most concentrated themes. In his films such as: Edward Scissorhands (1990), Alice in Wonderland (2010), Corpse Bride (2005), and Vincent (1982), the gothic imagery and misfit is a recurring theme where the protagonist is a misfit in their society and isolates themselves from society until finally finding a way embrace themselves and their differences to the social norm. Edward Scissorhands being the most resounding evidence of pure auteur ship shows that Burton did not only direct it but conceptualise and commission the screenplay, in this way, the attitudes toward the themes and combination of the specific themes, can be understood as pure creations of the director. Though not only does Burton utilise this constant theme of gothic imagery and misfit but he is also known for collaborating with the same actors when creating his films, such as Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter who are both featured in Dark Shadows (2012),Ed wood (1984),Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) just to name a few. Burton also has the recurring use of the same composer Danny Elfman to set a tone that is easily recognised as Burton s films. Gandhi was born in the town of Porbander, and received his schooling in Rajkot where his father was an advisor to the local ruler. Mohandas Gandhi married a girl named Kasturba. Both were thirteen years old at the time. At the age of 19, Gandhi decided to travel to England to receive his degree in law. Gandhi left his son Harilal who was a few months old with his wife. Gandhi founded newspapers to spread his ideas and to educate the public. In early 1930, the Indian National Congress declared that India would not be satisfied until India received complete independence from Britain. On March 2nd, 1930, Gandhi sent a letter to the Viceroy, Lord Irwin, forcefully saying that if Indian demands were not met, he would be forced to violate the salt laws. The Lord ignored his letter. Gandhi began a 240 mile trek to the sea with 78 of his followers. As the trek continued, more and more people joined Mohandas Gandhi, and by the time Gandhi arrived at the sea thousands of people stood behind him. Gandhi picked up a clump of sea salt along with thousands of others. Gandhi was soon arrested for his actions along with tens of thousands of others. Gandhi was pardoned to travel to England for negotiations which accomplished nothing, and was arrested upon his return to India. After his release three months later, Mohandas Gandhi spent years involved in constructive reformation. When World War II broke out, Gandhi encouraged India to remain neutral. • 46. Cochlear Implants Benefits A Cost Benefit Analysis of Cochlear Implants To this day, medical professionals and scientists dialogue about the issue of providing cochlear implants, electronic devices to aid one s auditory perception, to the overall deaf population (NIDCD). Some claim they should be given to deaf children and adults, while others oppose this perspective, because of vexatious burdens that supersede few benefits. Currently, some contradictory notions on this topic of distribution include disputes about offering an opportunity offering the ability to hear conversations the way normal people would, or just accepting the deafness as a gift (Licht, Hull, Ballantyne 116). More than 70,000 deaf Americans have received cochlear implants since the FDA approved their use in 1985 for adults and for children in 1990 (ASHA Quick Facts 1). Since doctors externally implant the device and link it to the auditory nerve, a hearing impaired child can detect noises slightly faster than adults who hear normally. Supporting this conclusion, findings from the University of Iowa s otolaryngology department studies concluded that younger children tend to acclimate more easily, because most have not yet become accustomed to speaking with others. The results also revealed that the earlier the procedure occurs, the more benefit that is reaped over the long run (Cochlear Implant article, Aggen 1). In addition, this early action , top dollar implant proves to be one of the most cost effective medical procedures, when one takes into consideration the cost required to address it later in life due to rising costs of the implants, or the lack of hearing takes a downturn. • 47. The Link Between Our Minds And Our Environment Our senses are the link between our minds and our environment; we rely on them for our tactical, olfactory, visual, auditory and gustatory acquisition of knowledge. Our dependence on our senses for knowledge makes our need to critically evaluate the information they deliver higher. The only way a knower can achieve a state of perceptive, yet thoughtful, acquisition of knowledge is by maintaining a balance between trusting our senses and assessing their congruence with pre existing knowledge. The sole purpose of a knower it to contribute to society in a positive manner. One must make an impact on the community with the knowledge they have acquired. The president of a nation who creates decisions contributes to society and even forming and sharing opinions in class can positively impact a community. The knowledge of a knower determines the overall content and effect of the contribution made, whether it is positive or negative. The primary sources of information are sigh, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. These are the five senses, which are the gateway of accessing knowledge from his experiences and the environment. In order to determine the truth of the senses, a knower has to first compare his sensory perceptions to his pre existing knowledge and determine whether the information is congruent. However this process occurs without the knower realizing it. A knower does not question every sight, smell, sound, touch and taste, but rather accepts them in the context of his ... • 48. Analysis of When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats Essay Analysis of When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats When You are Old, by William Butler Yeats, represents and elderly woman reminiscing of her younger days. A past lover whispers to her as she looks through a photo album. Basically, Yeats is showing that as the woman gets older, she is alone, but she does not have to be lonely. She will always have her memories for companionship. When you are old and grey and full of sleep, and nodding by the fire (l.1 2) depicts the woman in her age, needing to nap more frequently. He speaks of a book (l.2) and the soft look of her eyes (l.3 4). This book signifies a photo album that contains pictures of her as young adult. Yeats speaks of her glad grace (l.5) as her ... (l.8) means simply that even as her face aged, the love he felt for her grew stronger. ?And bending down beside the glowing bars,? (l.9) could be translated to ?as you?re bending down to stoke the fire,? she?ll mumble to herself about his death, ?how Love fled? (l.10) and his soul climbing to heaven to live ?amid a crowd of stars? (l.12). In the last verse of When you are Old, William Butler Yeats uses personification of love to enhance the image of the late lover waiting for the elderly woman. Lines 10 12 ?Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled, and paced upon the mountains overhead and hid his face amid a crowd of stars? give personal qualities to love. By capitalizing love, it becomes its own being, which waits impatiently, hence pacing the mountain. Yeats gives love a face hidden in the stars. The ?face? is love?s distinguishing characteristics, such as tenderness and sensitivity. The conclusion of When You are Old leaves the woman smiling to herself over the memories she has. She knows that one day she will be reunited with her true love, so she can live the remainder of her life peacefully. I personally love this poem. It leaves me with a feeling of contentment, just thinking that someone with a little age, and all alone can look back upon her life and keep smiling until it is her time to be united with her soul mate. First and foremost, it is significant that the MHN complies with keeping complete confidentiality in terms with the NHS Code of Practice (Department of Health, 2003). Jane has been informed by her doctor that she has a diagnosis of Bipolar mood disorder. Using the biopsychosocial model (Engel, 1977) the MHN should determine the biological, psychological and social aspects for Jane s treatments, to give her the best care possible. This relates to person centred care as the biopsychosocial model is providing a modern and holistic approach to care (Borrell Carrio, Suchman Epstein, 2004). Within the NMC Code, it writes to prioritise people which includes treating service users with respect, encouraging service users to make decisions about their care and act in the best interest of people (NMC Code of Conduct, 2015). This is imperative to developing a relationship with the service user that is professional yet also caring and compassionate. This also links to the 6Cs: care, compassion, communication, competence, courage and commitment, which should be adhered to by the MHN in Jane s care plan. (NHS England, 2016). The MHN should develop a care programme with Jane, using the Care Programme Approach, whereby a care programme should be conducted and monitored throughout Jane s treatment (Kingdon, 1994). This will help Jane and the MHN as it gives a clear view of the treatment plan that is also patient centred and Jane will feel involved in her care plan, which will ensure that Jane s care is provided in a therapeutic manner and at the highest standard ... • 50. Negative Effects Of Coming Out Gay The Effects of Coming out Gay Many negative stereotypes are the cause of homosexuals failing to come out the closet to their friends, family and loved ones. There are also positive effects to coming out as well but the negative opinions of some has triumphed across the nation during the last decade. Even though it may seem that our country has come a long way and accepts homosexuals, we still have a long way to go. Why do such stereotypes override the good effects of coming out gay? Coming out as a homosexual improves the quality of life such as making the individual feel confident and happier within. My own experience will serve as an example on how these things can reduce the confidence level in someone that wants to be open to friends, family and loved ones. No one wants to admit that they believe some of the stereotypes that get out regarding homosexual men. However, it is reality that specific stereotypes regarding gay men has erupted in our society and becoming more prevalent today than in the past. As I mentioned above, I am going to take you through step by step when I came out the closet and the effect it had on my life and my mental stability. One of the common stereotypes is Gay men are promiscuous . I guess it s hard for some to understand that promiscuity doesn t just favor gay men.
