Find your school's Voice: Facebook BootcampedSocialMedia
Knowing how to leverage your Facebook page is only half the battle. Staying up with the persistent changes is becoming exponentially harder as Facebook continues to innovate. For Facebook administrators, it’s one more place to displace your time, and it’s hard to keep up. But no matter what the statistics, your school must be creating compelling content to get your constituents to see the content, and generate an engaging conversation to increase your interaction rate (which will, in turn, get your story into the news feed of your constituents). So how does your school swing it? Several attendees joined edSocialMedia on Oct. 13 at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart for a Facebook Bootcamp experience to learn the tricks of the trade.
Demystifying Web 2.0 Tools for VolCom Groups:Beth Kanter
You may have heard the words, but what do they really mean for nonprofit organizations? This session introduces the concepts and tools behind the next generation of internet technologies or what has been dubbed "Web.20" or "Social Media." Well do some live demos of these tools, discuss their potential to enhance our work, along with some of the concerns they raise.
Youll come away with a basic understanding of and context for the words that are buzzing around us, along with references for continued exploration.

Exploring Factors Affecting the Success of TVET-Industry Partnership: A Case ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to explore factors affecting the success of TVET-industry
partnerships. A case study design of the qualitative research method was used to achieve this objective. For the
study, one polytechnic college of Oromia regional state, and two industries were purposively selected. From the
sample polytechnic college and industries, a total of 17 sample respondents were selected. Out of 17
respondents, 10 respondents were selected using the snowball sampling method, and the rest 7 respondents were
selected using the purposive sampling technique. The qualitative data were collected through an in-depth
interview and document analysis. The data were analyzed using thematic approaches. The findings revealed that
TVET-industry partnerships were found weak. Lack of key stakeholder‟s awareness shortage of improved
training equipment and machines in polytechnic colleges, absence of trainee health insurance policy, lack of
incentive mechanisms for private industries, lack of employer industries involvement in designing and
developing occupational standards, and preparation of curriculum were some of the impediments of TVETindustry partnership. Based on the findings it was recommended that the Oromia TVET bureau in collaboration
with other relevant concerned regional authorities and TVET colleges, set new strategies for creating strong
awareness for industries, companies, and other relevant stakeholders on the purpose and advantages of
implementing successful TVET-industry partnership. Finally, the Oromia regional government in collaboration
with the TVET bureau needs to create policy-supported incentive strategies such as giving occasional privileges
of duty-free import, tax reduction, and regional government recognition awards based on the level of partnership
contribution to TVET institutions in promoting TVET-industry partnership.

Non-Financial Information and Firm Risk Non-Financial Information and Firm RiskAJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: This research aims to examine how ESG disclosure and risk disclosure affect the total risk of
companies. Using cross section data from 355 companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, data regarding
ESG disclosure and risk was collected. In this research, ESG and risk disclosures are measured based on content
analysis using GRI 4 guidelines for ESG disclosures and COSO ERM for risk disclosures. Using multiple
regression, it is concluded that only risk disclosure can reduce the company's total risk, while ESG disclosure
cannot affect the company's total risk. This shows that only risk disclosure is relevant in determining a
company's total risk.

The Challenges of Good Governance and Project Implementation in Nigeria: A Re...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT : This study reveals that systemic corruption and other factors including poor leadership,
leadership recruitment processes, ethnic and regional politics, tribalism and mediocrity, poor planning, and
variation of project design have been the causative factors that undermine projects implementation in postindependence African states, particularly in Nigeria. The study, thus, argued that successive governments of
African states, using Nigeria as a case study, have been deeply engrossed in this obnoxious practice that has
undermined infrastructure sector development as well as enthroned impoverishment and mass poverty in these
African countries. This study, therefore, is posed to examine the similarities in causative factors, effects and
consequences of corruption and how it affects governance, projects implementation and national growth. To
achieve this, the study adopted historical research design which is qualitative and explorative in nature. The
study among others suggests that the governments of developing countries should shun corruption and other
forms of obnoxious practices in order to operate effective and efficient systems that promote good governance
and ensure there is adequate projects implementation which are the attributes of a responsible government and
good leadership. Policy makers should also prioritize policy objectives and competence to ensure that policies
are fully implemented within stipulated time frame.

ABSTRACT: Although a significant amount of literature exists on Morocco's migration policies and their
successes and failures since their implementation in 2014, there is limited research on the integration of subSaharan African children into schools. This paperis part of a Ph.D. research project that aims to fill this gap. It
reports the main findings of a study conducted with migrant children enrolled in two public schools in Rabat,
Morocco, exploring how integration is defined by the children themselves and identifying the obstacles that they
have encountered thus far. The following paper uses an inductive approach and primarily focuses on the
relationships of children with their teachers and peers as a key aspect of integration for students with a migration
background. The study has led to several crucial findings. It emphasizes the significance of speaking Colloquial
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and being part of a community for effective integration. Moreover, it reveals that the
use of Modern Standard Arabic as the language of instruction in schools is a source of frustration for students,
indicating the need for language policy reform. The study underlines the importanceof considering the
children‟s agency when being integrated into mainstream public schools.

4. Facebook is an online social networking service. It was
founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his
college roommates and fellow Harvard University
students.
The website's membership was initially limited by the
founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other
colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford
University. It gradually added support for students at
various other universities before opening to high school
students, and eventually to anyone aged 13 and over.
Facebook now allows any users who declare themselves to
be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the
site.
As of January 2014, Facebook has over one billion active
users
5. Start when? Now – those who wait till they
understand all social media will forever be
behind the times
Facebook is not only for personal relationship
upkeep but also for businesses to stay
connected with their customers
It is a perfect beginner platform for those
wanting to share & stay connected either with a
chosen few or with the masses!
6. Today – What it is & how to use it
Oct 3rd – Privacy settings, social media ethics,
time management. Plus, custom banners if time

Oct 17th – Creating photo albums (loading,

22. Do: Create an on-line presence. This can help show case your talents
and skills as well as allow you to easily connect with people.
Do: Pay attention to comment & posting etiquettes. Do you really
want to see a toilet in the background of a pucker lipped person? Old
rule applies no matter the situation - think twice post once.
Do: Post testimonials. Businesses are working hard to provide what
their customers want – if you see a great page let them know.
Do: Help promote others.. Networking works both ways – the more
you are willing to help someone else the more they will likely reach
out to help you in return.
Do post compelling messages – post great pictures – share your
timeline with great content.
Do post regular messages of interest for your family and friends.
Do respond to questions, concerns, and compliments on your social
media page.
Do post regularly about news, trips, and fun posts about your staff.
23. Don’t: Connect with everyone. Quality is more important than quantity.
When making a connection with someone other than family or friends –
research and ask yourself why?
Don’t: Post things you would not want to get out – personal information
best left for an in person conversation
Don’t spam… If you have a business do not post your merchandise
directly on others personal or professional timelines. (unless authorized &
then only in moderation with returned kindness)
Don’t post too much. Don’t overload your followers to the point they
ignore you. Remember quality over quantity
Don’t just post for the “heck of it.” this is not Twitter telling us what you
had for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily is not what people are following
you to read
Don’t: Link a personal FB page with business if you are going to post the
morning after pictures – or risky pictures that will cause concern for
family, friends or bosses
Don’t: Loose a good friend or risk getting blocked or unfriended. If your
having an off day call 1-800-BFF
25. Icon – used to help people find you “Smith”?

SO MANY OPTIONS!
28. Your photos and albums that you post – who,
what, where, when, why?
29. You can also add special privacy settings to
specific albums!
30.
31. FILES
Can only be uploaded to
groups. To post files or
share Dropbox files—
like presentations,
schedules, and
documents—to a group,
click the AddFile icon
and choose a file from
your computer or
Dropbox account.
VIDEOS
Can be uploaded to
group, business and
personal timelines.
Almost all types of video
files are supported, but
we recommend using the
MP4 format.
32.
33. LINK POST PICTURE POST
A Link post you are
connecting to
another page on the
web, an event, social
media etc..
You can also use the
status area to ‘Tag’
another person or
place. Depending on
if you are using FB
as a person or page.
A picture post is highly
valued by FB. Especially a
clean picture post versus a
shared picture.
Tag the status or the picture
(Two options)
35. PICTURES PERMISSIONS
A tag is a special kind of link.
When you tag someone, you
create a link to their timeline.
The post you tag the person in
may also be added to that
person’s timeline. For example,
you can tag a photo to show
who’s in the photo or post a
status update and say who
you’re with. If you tag a friend
in your status update, anyone
who sees that update can click
on your friend’s name and go
to their timeline. Your status
update may also show up on
that friend’s timeline.
You can remove a tag
You can tag up to 50
people or pages on a
photo
You can review tags
before allowing them on
your timeline
40. STEP FIVE:
ADD DETAILS
AS COMMENTS.
THEN DEPENDING
ON THE TYPE OF
EVENT:
PAGE OFTEN
MAKE SURE TO
GIVE PLENTY OF
DETAILS AND
CONTACT INFO.
General layout – ask what they would like to get out of the course
Recommend skipping – this is not what FB would recommend but we believe it is better to organically grow your connections based on the reasons why you are using FB. Plus, it allows you to sort & categorize your connections one at a time. (Keeps you from getting SM overload…)
General settings: name, user name, email, password, networks, language and temperature.
“Networks’ is a setting you will see if you are using FB connected to a school or workplace – financial. Advisors & other regulated industries will also see this setting
Security settings: this is where you control your login notifications, approvals, extra levels of protection for your account, add trusted contacts, watch browsers & see where you are currently logged in at.
Privacy – We’ve set up most of these using the privacy checkup setting
Briefly go over blocking and mention the FB games:
When you add friends to your Restricted list they can only see the information and posts that you make public. Facebook does not notify your friends when you add them to your Restricted list.
Knowing when, where & why you are being tagged is also a way to protect your information.
Go over liking w/following & liking w/out following
Understanding not to let it ruin your life – use it for the value it holds but YOU control it
Not the other way around. List areas that help you control your time, techniques for posting & emotional pitfalls
Cover photos are 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall. If you upload an image that's smaller than these dimensions, it will be stretched to this larger size. The image you upload must be at least 399 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall.
To get the fastest load times for your Page, upload an RGB JPG file that's 851 pixels wide, 315 pixels tall and less than 100 kilobytes. For images with your logo or text, you may get a higher quality result by using a PNG file.
A group admin or the person who uploaded the file can delete it by clicking the down arrow next to the post and selecting Delete Post. Note: if someone has the permalink to your Dropbox file, they may still be able to access it. To add your Dropbox file to a group, you first have to add the app. Like other apps on Facebook, Dropbox needs certain information to work. Any member of a school group can upload or download files. If you upload a revised version of a file, the previous version of the file will still be available.
