The Case of Romanian Cigarette Market
CHAPTER VIII. STUDY CASES
1. THE CASE OF ROMANIAN CIGARETTE MARKET
1. Introduction Among the obligations assumed by Romania by(1) the EU Adhesion Treaty (2)there is
the fact that, until 2010, the minimum tax level for cigarettes must be aligned with the minimum tax
level of the member states 57% of the most popular cigarettes (MPPC) price, but not less than 64
Euros for 1000 cigarettes. Through the modifications made to the Fiscal Code in April 2006 by the
OU 33/2006 the government approved the tax level, which will increase gradually until it reaches the
required level. (In 2006, this happened two times, at an approximately two month s interval).
According to the decision, the tax of the cigarettes will be calculated by means of ... Show more

This means the elimination of the sub medium and medium cigarettes producers and the consolidation
of the position of premium and prestige cigarettes producers. They will share the remaining market
shares, favouring the creation of a symmetrical oligopoly. The computations demonstrate that the main
producers on the market will remain BAT and PM, who s portfolio mainly consists premium cigarettes
and which will distribute the remaining 10% between themselves after the elimination of the small
ones, as well as the 10% lost by their main competitor, JTI. Thus, the competition on the market will
be significantly diminished through the eradication of the very condition of a competitive market the
existence of a sufficiently large enough number of producers so that the price is a result of the balance
between offer and demand, as article 4 from the Competition Law stipulates.

By imposing the minimum tax, the base and value cigarettes producers will be forced to choose
between two alternatives equally disadvantageous to them: either they sell at a lower price, and they
lose, or they sell at the minimum price of 2.6 RON, and their sales go down. Due to this, their
autonomy is affected, and also the freedom of trade (art. 9). The consumer has a limited possibility to
choose and is forced to accept a higher price for a base or value product, which affects his/her welfare.
The welfare of the end user is assured by the quantitative,

Pros And Cons Of Agency Law
1. Agency law is a relationship between a principal and in agent in which the agent is legally
authorized to act on the behalf of the principal. An agency relationship is a fiduciary relationship that
is created with a written contract or oral agreement. The three types of agency are agency by implied
authority, agency by estoppel, and agency by ratification. The different types of agency relationships
are principal agent relationships, employer employee relationships and employer independent
contractor relationships. Both the principal and the agent have duties. The duties of the principal
include compensation, reimbursement and indemnification, cooperation, and safe working conditions.
The duties of the agent include loyalty, performance, notification, obedience, and accounting. 2.

It is important to regulate the interactions among directors, officers, and shareholders within a

Corporations have their pros and cons. The pros of a corporation include the liability of the

a corporation, and the capital corporations make on the stock market. The cons of a corporation
include the costs of incorporating, dealing with shareholders, and double taxation. 4. An at will

Treatment For Chronic Organ Failure
In many cases, the preferred treatment for chronic organ failure is organ transplantation. Organ
transplantation involves replacing the organs that have failed in their functions. The lives of many
people, including children, has been prolonged when organ transplantation was performed
successfully. Organ transplantation has become a major public health issue in the United States due to
its attributable death rate and to its excessive cost. The number of organs which are offered for
transplantation is limited. Hence, there is a waiting list for receiving the organs. For example, during
the last decade in the United States, the available kidneys for transplantation were 11,000 per year
while the waiting list for kidney transplantation has exceeded

Wolof Research Paper
As the African proverb goes, If you want people to understand you, speak their language. Such was
the case for the Wolof tribe when France colonized their native country of Senegal, located on the
northern West coast of Africa, in the early 20th century. Before the French arrived, Senegal had been a
constantly changing domain. The Portuguese, Dutch, British, and French fought back and forth over
outposts such as the small island of Gorée, part of modern day Dakar, Senegal. It was finally returned
to the French by the British in 1815, after the Napoleonic wars, and the French began their expansion
into the mainland (Diallo). However, as the French ventured farther into Africa, they encountered the

The history of the Wolof people can be traced back to the great kingdoms of pre colonial Senegal,
prior to 1946. Kayor and Baol, two of these empires, are often cited as examples of the Wolof
resistance to French colonialism due to the lasting of their culture and language (National African
Language Resource Center). Even after French was deemed the official language, people continued to
use Wolof. Since then, the term Wolofization has been coined to describe its spread. Wolof people
make up about 40% of the nine million Senegalese, representing the largest single ethnic group at
approximately 44.5% in the 2004 census ( Wolof ). In addition, Wolof is spoken as a first or second
language by more than 90% of the population (Diallo), by over 5.2 million speakers (Thompson).
French, however, doesn t even rank in the top six national languages, with only about 20% as a second
language, and 1% as a first (Diallo). Strong Wolof presence can be seen not just lingually, since
independence, but the Wolof have played a leading role culturally, politically, and economically in
Senegal too. The Wolof people remain the single largest Ethnic group in Senegal, and despite the
country s weak economy, the Wolof have built a reputation for international commerce and trading. In
addition, Wolof businesspeople can be found throughout Africa, Europe, and even on the streets of
New York City and Washington, D.C. ( Wolof ). In resistance to the French national language, Wolof
has continued and maintained it s status as the lingua

College Benefits In College
When I was in school, my mother stressed education. I am so glad she did. I graduated from Yale
College and Yale University with my master s and I didn t do it by missing school (Angela Bassett).
Everyone has their own experience in college whether good or bad. School is home to me, ever since
Middle school after I finally grasped the art of studying. In high school I thought attending either a
two year or four year college consisted of me working hard to achieve a degree that would in turn help
me land a job. Not only would I walk away with a degree to help me out when it came down to
looking for a job, but the useful and successful skills would also come in handy. But, in my freshman
year really open my eyes to see that college is so much bigger than what I originally thought. Earning
an education enables us to succeed academically, make better career choices and build self confidence
In addition, not only does attending college get you one step closer to being qualified for a career of
your dreams, but college also allows you to have fun while you work hard. Now, going to college can
be exciting because you get to meet new people who have the same interests as you. Then, you can
also explore a whole new branch of math, science, and languages. We could even take some of classes
that captures our interest and work hard towards that degree in the end which will help secure a job
after graduation. College teaches us how to juggle between different classes. My academics

Venice Against The Sea
Venice is evolving into a crumbling museum says Keahey. In his extensively researched book, Venice
against the Sea, Keahey states Venice has sunk six feet over the past 1000 years. While its historical
importance as a major hub for trade is over, it remains economically lucrative due to its historically
rich Myth of Venice and its significant cultural importance. Venice against the sea describes how the
city is being assaulted by climate change along with environmental degradation compounded by a
corrupt political system and the very tourism that sustains it. In a 2000 CNN interview then Mayor,
Paola Costa states, we risk disappearing due to excess love...all those who are using Venice for their
own interests must make a contribution to preserve the myth
The effects of rising sea water and global warming on the lagoon city are resulting in significant
flooding, the worst of which occurred in 1966, the Acqua Alta or high water. It isn t just climate
change that jeopardizes Venice, it was the lapse in upkeep of the foundation, short sighted expansion
and redesigning of water ways and the pumping of ground water from beneath Venice that is hastening
its sinking. In 1970 this practice was called to a halt. But this danger to Venice is not a new occurrence
in Venice s history, but it is the severity and frequency of the flooding that is accelerating the damage
and sinking. The danger from the high

Advantages Of Long-Distance Relationship
Being in a relationship such as a long distance one can be hard. There s the distance, of course, but
also the lack of communication and touch. These things shouldn t have to limit the amazing love that
comes out of an LDR. I have amazing experience of being with someone in this type of relationship.
My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year. Getting to know someone before you
enter a relationship like this is so important. There is a foundation you build and you get to know that
person for who they are, how they live and generally how they treat you. I knew my boyfriend for
around nine months before we started liking one another and became a couple. Before you start
thinking anything along the lines of cat fishing, that is why we took the time to get to know one
another. We called one another, video chatted on Skype and played games with each other, because
that is how we met and how we kept things going. Eventually it turned to us only talking to one
another, making jokes and telling stories. Although lots of people believe that long distance
relationships cannot last, the relationship that I have with my boyfriend in New York shows that long
distance relationships can really last. In long distance relationships, interaction is something that is
very important. It brings a couple together and it is what holds them together when they are apart; the
constant excitement of getting to see them again. This is when technology comes in. Long distance

Royal Ontario Museum Research Paper
Museums are institutions of cultural, artistic, and scientific knowledge. They have taken many forms
over the centuries, Older museums subscribed to elitist ideologies. The architecture and interior design
of these highbrow establishments reflected this with either over the top grandeur or stark, blinding
white galleries. However, has museum values became rooted in the community and public education,
the architecture changed as well. The Royal Ontario Museum consists of two interconnected main
buildings. The original build and its early 1933 renovation are an exemplar of traditional sensibilities.
In stark contrast to them, however, is the Michael Lee Chin Crystal which embodies the essence of
new museum aesthetics. The design of the Royal Ontario Museum is a perfect blend of traditional and
new museum values as is evident in its innovative design. Early 18th and 19th century museums and
many other buildings were built in the neoclassical style. Inspiration was taken directly from recently
excavated Roman ruins. Early museums acted more like over the top cabinets of wonder, catering only
to academics and elite individuals. However as so too did museum designs. Of course, museums exist
in a multitude of architectural styles. The list of historical buildings that act as museums is endless.
International style arose to reflect the modernist art style and the social sensibilities of the 20th
century. This design was often composed of simple material and straight lines. The goal of
international style was to act as a blank canvas on which to display artworks. It wasn t until later in the
20th century that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Scarlet Ibis Thesis
The short story The Scarlet Ibis was written by James Hurst. This story is about a boy and his younger,
disabled brother. Doodle was born and diagnosed as an invalid. Not being able to do certain things
affected his life. The narrator set out to teach Doodle the things he never thought he could do. The
narrator is described to be a prideful and determined person. He is prideful because he always put his
needs before everyone else. For example, he would push Doodle around carelessly to discourage his
coming. Not caring for Doodle s safety shows how he wanted to make Doodle feel sorry. The narrator
was always annoyed because he had to take Doodle everywhere. Additionally, when Doodle was five,
the narrator said, I was embarrassed, because

Malnutrition And Crohn s Disease
Malnutrition is a condition in which a person is not getting the right amount of nutrients that they need
to remain healthy. It can range from being mild to being detrimental to both physical and mental
health. It can occur because a person is not eating a diet that provides enough nutrients the body
needs, or the person is not absorbing the nutrients that the body is receiving. Even lacking one vitamin
from your diet is considered malnutrition. Malnutrition can also be a result of Crohn s disease, cystic
fibrosis, celiac disease, or persistent diarrhea or vomiting. Having anorexia is also a cause of
malnutrition because of the restrictive calorie intake. Drug addiction or being an alcoholic can affect
the body s ability to absorb the nutrients which will cause malnutrition as well. It is possible to be
obese and have malnutrition if they are not getting enough nutrients from all the food they take in. ...

They may also be sensitive to the cold and be more susceptible to becoming sick because their
immune system is weaker. If there has been any unintended weight loss in 3 to 6 months such as a loss
of 5 10% weight loss, malnutrition may be suspected. Calculating the BMI or body mass index is used
to diagnose malnutrition. If the result is 17 18.5 this points toward mild malnutrition. 15 17 points

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Pilot Project Rules
Advantages of the pilot project rules
The mediation rules put a strict caveat that matters must be settled within a time frame of 60 day s..
The rules ensure privacy and confidentiality since all communication during mediation are deemed to
be confidential and shall not be admissible in evidence. Mediation is also deemed to be a confidential
process as compared to litigation since parties can conduct proceedings in private. Confidentiality is
essential for mediation to be effective. In the court annexed mediation program in Kenya,
confidentiality requirements are taken into account in the Mediation (Pilot Project) Rules, 2015. It is
provided that all communication during mediation, including the mediator s notes, shall be deemed to
be confidential and shall not be deemed to be admissible in evidence in any current or subsequent
litigation or proceedings. Further, neither the mediator nor any person present or appearing at a
mediation session may be summoned, compelled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a palpable tension between the courts desire to exert control over the parties conduct in
mediation and the need for parties to exercise the fullest level of autonomy within mediation. It has
been astutely highlighted that the higher the level of participation required, the greater the coercion by
forcing a party to present its case in a manner not of its choosing. In other words, excessive control by
the courts should be avoided, since it will compromise the parties right of self determination. While it
may be argued that lenient standards would not penalize parties who are blatantly uncooperative
during the mediation, it is equally, if not more, important, that the parties should be free to conduct
themselves as they see fit during the mediation.

George S. Patton Rhetorical Leadership
Respected by most, yet feared by many, General George S. Patton was one of the most profound
leaders the United States Army has ever had. He took part throughout the Mexican Revolution, World
War One, and dominating the stage throughout World War Two. His career as an officer took stage
shortly after his graduation from The United States Army Military Academy, where he branched as a
cavalry officer (Patton, Wikipedia, 2017). Inpatient and young, he eventually went on his first
deployment as a lieutenant to take part in the battle of San Miguelito. It was in Mexico that Patton met
General John Joseph Pershing, where it is believed that he based a lot of his military leadership styles
on the way Pershing led his troops (Pershing, Wikipedia, 2017). Through imitating Pershing, George
had some of the most courageous leadership styles known widely throughout, where many praised his
bravery, yet several found him foolish. Following the battle of San Miguelito, Patton was promoted to
Captain and appointed by General Pershing to the head of the new AEF Tank Corps. (Pershing,
Wikipedia, 2017). It was throughout the process of developing the AEF Tank Corps. that I feel Patton
demonstrated his most profound adaptive leadership trait, drive. George Patton was driven in anything
and everything he did for the AEF Tank Corps. He implemented his own ideas, tactics, design,
uniform, and procedures in a way that revolutionized war (PATTON 360, 2015). The United States

Mung Beans
Abstract
The Seeds of Mung bean, wheat, and silver beet were tested in environments of differing salinities to
note down if high salinity environments were worse for the seeds. It was found that generally lower
concentrations were better for germination then higher concentrations. Despite this, the hypothesis
was not completely supported as in wheat and silver beet the second concentration had a higher rate of
germination than the control and in all instances the highest concentration had a higher germination
rate than the second highest concentration.

Because less water is taken up, more water remains, and when the water evaporates from the soil, salt
which has been low below ground for millions of years is brought to the surface, surrounding these
new plants and depriving them of further water (DENR SA, 2010). This process can be made worse
by the irrigation of crops, which result in more water soaking into the soil and thus more water to
evaporate and carry salt to the soil s surface (DENR SA, 2010).
An example of a plant adapted to high salinity environments is the mangrove. The mangrove is a
halophilous plant, meaning that it is a plant that grows in saline soils and waters (Conservancy
Association, 2010). This gives it an advantage as not many plants can live in these conditions. The
mangrove handles these high salinity conditions in a number of methods. The first method is through
salt exclusion, which is the process the mangrove uses to prevent salt from entering its roots and
therefore stopping it being transported to the plant cells (Conservancy Association, 2010). Despite
this, some salt still gets through to the cells, and there are more methods to deal with it. With
mangroves such as the Black Mangrove, salt can be excreted through its tissues, through specific salt
glands (Conservancy Association, 2010). Another method is the storage of this salt on the leaves of the
plant, in the form of crystals. These leaves then drop to the ground, taking this salt with them

Essay on Asian Women in the Eyes of Americans
Introduction
The history of Asian women has many facets. I am about to touch on two key monumental points over
a sixty year span that have shaped the views of Asian women in the eyes of Americans. As a brief
overview, from as early as the 1940s, Asian women were recruited to serve their soldiers during World
War II as sex slaves. Forty years later, the dawning of the 1980s brought about the desire of Asian
women into American households and sparked the mail order bride phenomenon. The beginning of a
new century has altered the lives of Asian women, in parts of Asia as well as in the United States of
America. I will give you a glimpse into their every day lives in their home country and site
observations to their strides ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Afternoons would be reserved for middle ranking officers and evening hours for higher ranking
officers. Commanders of a military unit, or the camp where comfort stations existed, monopolized the
overnight stay privileges.
When the war ended, most comfort women were simply abandoned. The comfort women have been
hidden victims for over half a century. Having been victims of sexual violence, where a woman s
chastity is upheld as more important than life itself, many of these women have blamed themselves
and kept their sufferings from family members and the community, fearing tainting of the family
name.
Stetz and Oh indicate although WWII has ended and is now a mass piece of history, the comfort
women ordeal still exists today. They continue their isolated existence in poverty and poor health.
They have not regained their honor nor had their pains eased. These women continue to endure
insulting comments made by irresponsible Japanese officials and by neoconservative nationalists, who
claim that many Asian women were merely sex workers for money during WWII. As of the end of
January in 1998, the top aide to Japanese prime minister Hashimoto suggested that many women
became comfort women for money and that the Japanese military s use of these women was justified
by the moves of the times. Within a month of the inauguration of South Korean president Kim Dae

Moralism In The Interlopers
Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in who we are, we
choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our blood, until the threat of death opens
us to more options. We choose to imitate certain individuals whose beliefs we associate with more
than others. More likely than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our close relatives; they
often have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted with us. Because we are
raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit the same qualities and interests,
allies and enemies. Ulrich Van Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were brought up by separate families who
share a long series of poaching affrays and similar scandals [that] had embittered the relationships
between the families for three generations, (Saki 6). The way they choose to view each other Georg as
a petty forest thief and game snatcher (8), and Ulrich as a greedy landowner is not a result of one s
wrongdoing against the other, but rather an ongoing hatred for each other s families. Instead of
burying the old quarrel alongside their grandfathers, certain individuals in their families chose to
continue it, and now, Ulrich had come to be head of his family and Georg Znaeym, the inheritor of the
quarrel, (7 emphasis added). Like their family members before them, Ulrich and Georg choose to
continue the feud because neither is willing to denounce their family s name,

according to MILJANOVIC, M. and LAPAS, D., The nature of armed conflicts has changed
significantly since the establishment of the UN, as well as the political context in which the Charter
was created. Between 75 and 80% of all the armed conflicts after the WWII fall into the category of
non international conflicts and about 80% of the total casualties result from such strife . Moreover, the
United Nations law must be publicly promulgated and be consistent with the stander of international

Twelve Traditions Of Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is an international mutual aid fellowship founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and
Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. AA states that its primary purpose is to help alcoholics to stay sober
and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety . With other early members Bill Wilson and Bob Smith
developed AA s Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development. AA s initial Twelve
Traditions were introduced in 1946 to help the fellowship be stable and unified while disengaged from
outside issues and influences. The Traditions recommend that members and groups remain anonymous
in public media, altruistically helping other alcoholics and avoiding affiliations with any other
organization. Subsequent fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous have adopted and adapted the
Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions to their respective primary purposes. The 2006 Cochrane
Review of eight studies measuring the effectiveness of AA found no significant difference between the
results of AA and twelve step participation compared to other treatments, stating that experimental
studies have on the whole failed to demonstrate their effectiveness in reducing alcohol dependence or
drinking problems when compared to other interventions. and the first non Protestant member, a
Roman Catholic, joined in 1939. AA membership has since spread across diverse cultures holding
different beliefs and values , including geopolitical areas resistant to grassroots movements. In the

Multiculturalism has played a significant role in Canada, since its establishment 40 years ago. Much
of Canadian society is reflective of different cultures from around the world making multiculturalism a
very relevant topic to Canadians. While it can be argued that the majority of Canadians are in favor of
multiculturalism, there are some who hold a different opinion. Though some critics claim that
multiculturalism promotes a form of hyphenated Canadianism that exacerbates divisions in Canadian
society based on such characteristics like ethnic, minority, or immigrant status, the social advantages
such as how multiculturalism is a source of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Minority groups have served multiple different business sectors helping overall benefit our economy.
The paragraph will also divulge into the political benefits both multiculturalism and immigrants
provide to Canada. Canada sees high rates of political participation from foreign born citizens due to
the country s multiculturalist nature. Economically, Canada is fortunate to have a high number of
immigrants in its territory. Finally, the paper will conclude with the explanation of alternatives to
multiculturalism. These alternatives are typically considered negative which will further illustrate why
immigrants and a multicultural society is important to Canada. Multiculturalism is a crucial aspect to
Canada in which it diminishes the divisions in Canadian society based on one s race, religion, and
culture. Social advantages of multiculturalism in Canada prove to be very beneficial to Canadian
society. When discussing multiculturalism in regards to its use and policies in Canada, it is important
to first, give its definition as well as explain its history. Multiculturalism relates to or is made up of
several different cultures and is typically used to as an adjective to describe a society (Merriam
Webster). Multiculturalism is not just a fixed concept or a simple idea; it is a multidimensional entity
(Guo + Wong, 107). Multiculturalism can be seen as a catch all term, which encompasses the fusion or

The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The...
Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is
not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring
relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and
obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul
exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may
follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He
is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon
accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward
mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is
changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy
Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration.
Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be
the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders,
so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not
satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the
individuals who are elders.

Internship Report On Skid Internship
Final Report
In all honesty, I did not know what to expect when heading into this internship. I knew my boss on a
personal level being that he is my brother in law but I only had brief experiences working alongside
him and his employees. The very first day Derek, my employer made his expectations loud and clear
he was to have 110% and nothing less. The first week on my internship I was assigned to sorting
through seemingly endless amounts of red iron and tin among other things with a skid steer. Overtime
I went from having very little familiarity with the piece of equipment to having spent days
maneuvering through the mud and sand that was behind the shop. One day as I was riding I was
reminded of a time in Mr. Fritt s Concrete class where the class took turns learning to operate a skid
steer belonging to OSUIT it was very satisfying to realize how far I had come.
The next week I received even more practice on the skid steer as I was told I was to spend quite a bit
of time mowing a couple of different locations with a brush hog and for the next few days that was the
mission. I spent many hours on something that may have seemed meaningless to many and learn to
take pride in it. Mid way through the week I went to my first real site. The facility was owned by a
company called Archrock. I only spent a day there but in that little bit of time I was hit with a wealth
of knowledge about compressors. I understood what the pipeline is about and how it has brought
convenience to every

Theme Of Patriarchy In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
For centuries, books, television shows, even beloved childhood movies have subtly reinforced the
social construct of patriarchy. Classic movies such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty follow the
typical story line of a damsel in distress, followed by a heroic man coming to her rescue. This
conception of a male focused storyline is nothing new and is an aspect that constitutes patriarchy,
which has existed since the advent of agriculture and has persisted throughout the centuries. In fact,
patriarchy was a major theme that was reinforced in the first story ever recovered; The Epic of
Gilgamesh was written as early as 2000 BC in Mesopotamia and is loosely based on the Sumerian
king, Gilgamesh. The story tells of Gilgamesh s adventures with his friend Enkidu as they conquer
everything from other men to the Bull of Heaven. Throughout the story, patriarchy is heavily
reinforced. Although the driving force behind patriarchy is personal attainment of security and status,
a number of objectively undesirable events result such as the subjugation of women and societies that
value control and dominance. The narrator reinforces different aspects of patriarchy in The Epic of
Gilgamesh by portraying men in a good light and women in a bad one, focusing society around males,
withholding agency from female females, normalizing violence, and creating the need for unequal
relationships between men and women.
The narrator of this epic consistently reinforced the stereotypical gender roles and

Overcoming Adversity In The Three Ways To Overcoming...
Before getting back up after you fall you have to gather all your strength and push whatever made you
fall harder.Every time you fall the same solution might not work so you have to be stubborn and keep
an attitude that tells your challenger Try your best shot, and that if you fall you won t be gone for
long.People overcome obstacles in less than three ways the three ways are by keeping a positive
attitude, being determined, and lastly being a creative problem solver. First,in ways, people overcome
obstacles is keeping a positive attitude since when you have a positive attitude you are harder to
discourage. An example of positive attitude while facing adversity would be in the text A work in
progress where Aimee Mullin faces her adversity with humor like when she broke her wooden leg and
while all the other people in that room were freaking out all she could think about was that her parents
were going to kill her.I chose this example because out of all the stories we read in class about facing
adversity Aimee Mullin struck me as the most positive about her obstacle. It s important because it
shows my point that with a positive attitude you don t get discouraged as easily and like Aimee Mullin
you can achieve whatever you wish no matter your adversity.Another example from A work in
progress that shows positive attitude would be when Aimee Mullin got her new legs and was stating
all the good qualities about her legs instead of being like oh I don t this about them or

Informative Essay About Disneyland
Annie Ngiam Claremont High School 9/9/17 Have you ever thought you understood something? Until
you dig a little deeper and realize something has always been there right in front of your face and
never realized it? Like little inside jokes and playing tri blue from where you started. I had a party in
my backyard with a few close friends, singing to K pop, or Korean music. My Korean friend
proceeded to laugh when someone was trying to sing a song lyric in Korean, or at least her version of
the song. The translation to what my friend was singing was Cats and almonds and I m going to eat
your face, two very different lines then the song lyrics themselves. Our new inside joke is Cats and
Almonds However in cinema and amusement parks, we call these inside jokes easter eggs . Whether
they were created because of a challenge, or simply a memorial to remember where the creators
started from, these inside jokes can be found everywhere in Disney. First, we will be revealing the
easter eggs important to the people behind the magic. Second, we will find the secret meaning of the,
oh I can t find it... hidden mickeys and finally the movie connection easter eggs that have sparked
many Disney theories. Have you ever thought about where Disneyland is? The address is conveniently
1313 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim. Sure, 1313 is a rather strange number for an address, but is there
something behind the numbers? M is the 13th letter of the English alphabet, meaning 1313 is two M s.

The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Surgery
Plastic Surgery has become a wide topic in the United States. Plastic surgery is also known as, the
reconstruction surgery that involves the restoration of a function to a damaged body part and the
rebuilding of normal physical contours when parts of the body such as the nose, jaw, ears, or fingers

overall percentage on plastic surgery dropped by forty percent for the first time in a decade, total
cosmetic procedures for women and men dropped below thirty one thousand that was the lowest since
the year od 2006. I believe that plastic surgery has very many cons towards it. There are many
statistics that prove that plastic surgery can be a harmful idea to the body. However, there is also many
positive thoughts when looking at the overall picture with plastic surgery. According to the article
Plastic Surgery pit is often done for purely cosmetic reasons, to remove blemished, make unusual
contours more normal, or improve self esteem. Plastic surgery has caused many people to reach the
cancer stage, or even pass away from coming in contact with plastic surgery. While many feels that
plastic surgery has many benefits, it actually has many health risks.

Sustainability Is Not Green
What is sustainability? In contemporary design, sustainability is a furious warrior under a green coat.
People usually attribute sustainability with the color green, essence of nature or love and care for
mother earth. In the context of construction, this means placing plants in buildings, installing green
roofs and use local construction materials. Sustainability is much more than a green coat concept
draped over buildings. Sustainability is strong, a courageous idea that would change the future.
To sustain is to withstand and endure without giving away. A sustainable civilization should not empty
natural resources and endanger the environment. To sustain is ...to meet the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Preservation runs
parallel with the concept of sustainability. To sustain is to preserve the current. To Sustain is to discard
the idea of wastefulness. Concern about the environment and preservation of natural resource had
become a heated debate among citizens, designers, and politics. United States alone uses a significant
among of world s energy and produces a great amount of greenhouse gas. According to U.S.
Department of Energy s EIA for 2007, commercial and residential buildings consume about 40 percent
of the energy usage in the United States. Building constructions plays an important role in sustainable
development and environmental preservation because building life cycle starts with

Essay The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain criticizes a sivilized society, by depicting those
who are considered civilized to be deceiving. Huckleberry Finn, also referred to as Huck, is the
protagonist and the narrator of the story. He is influenced by many, but makes decisions that contradict
societal norms. As the story develops, Twain employs dramatic, situational, and cosmic irony, as Huck
overcomes difficult situations throughout his journey with Jim; a slave.
As Huck and Jim go down the Mississippi River, to get away from St. Petersburg, they separate after a
ship was close to crashing their raft. Huck tries to find Jim, but encounters the Grangerfords. The
Grangerfords are a family who accepted Huck into their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Readers thought Tom would ...say it s dirty, lowdown business... (p.226) but realize the situational
irony in chapter 33, when Tom agrees to free Jim, and Tom Sawyer fell considerable in [his]
estimation. (p.226) Even though it s ironic that Tom made his plan adventurous , and that Huck agreed
to it. Huck is more mature, having more sense than Tom , yet he agreed with Tom s complicated plan
to free Jim. Readers suddenly come to an understanding of how much Huck cares about Jim, even if it
wasn t right for him to be helping a slave.
The major characters in this novel are all considered to be slaves at a certain point, contradicting that
they believe they re socially better. The cosmic irony, is the realization of the non slaves, actually
being slaves. Jim, being an African slave, is a slave tied to his owner; the Widow Douglas. Pap, Huck
s father, is a slave to alcohol, which leads to physical abuse toward Huck. The alcohol eventually gets
the best of Pap and he ends up being the dead man Jim found in the abandoned house. The majority of
the characters that Huck encounters, like the Duke and the Dauphin, are slaves because of their
unnecessary addictions, like wealth and robbery. These unusual addictions lead to disorder in the
book.
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain deliberately changes the wording of civilization
into sivilization, to express how Huck denies the sivilized lifestyle that is surrounding him. Despite the

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world,
enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably
related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation
Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The
fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related
to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by
creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a
method of responding to the notion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems,
specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem)
which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits
which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there
exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of
their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem
equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in
the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive)
and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive
assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the
disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such
permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement
the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by
David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the
environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

Rhetorical Analysis Of Invictus
Invictus Rhetorical Analysis Essay A time of difficulties always comes and goes and it has always
been known to stay strong during those times. This, in many ways, connects to countless people,
including great writers who often describe their difficult times through acting or other forms of
writing. William Ernest Henley was an author who used his challenges to write a poem. This was a
dramatic but motivational poem that heavily used rhetorical devices to describe how he managed
through his darkest times. William Ernest Henley took use of personification, connotation, and
alliteration in the poem Invictus to prove that anyone can overcome obstacles by staying strong and
believing in themselves. For a start, Henley gave human like characteristics to words so he could, in a
way, visually show that the mind should always remain strong in difficult times by using
personification. He dramatically describes that sometimes not everything goes accordingly as he says,
In the fell clutch of circumstance (5). Here, the author makes circumstance seem evil or bad. The
action that he characterized circumstance of doing expresses that challenges can come at the worst
times. Even more, he is describing that circumstance has a fell clutch implying that he went through a
horribly long and dark period. This gives the reader a perspective that occasionally things do not
always go their way. It connects to the theme that difficult times are always thrown at one s way and
that they may not always be prepared for the challenging part of those times. Henley took advantage
of personification once again to relate to his theme. Henley shows his courage through his dark times
by saying, And yet the menace of the years/Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. (11 12) Here, Henley
makes the word year seem mean or cruel. He does this by describing that it is a menace otherwise
implying that it is harsh or cruel. By including that it searches for him, he also indicates that he ran
into difficult times often, but stays optimistic by saying that it found him unafraid. This makes the
reader aware that even though challenges always come up, they should always be courageous, just like
he was. Henley writes that he stayed positive during

  • 2. The Case of Romanian Cigarette Market CHAPTER VIII. STUDY CASES 1. THE CASE OF ROMANIAN CIGARETTE MARKET 1. Introduction Among the obligations assumed by Romania by(1) the EU Adhesion Treaty (2)there is the fact that, until 2010, the minimum tax level for cigarettes must be aligned with the minimum tax level of the member states 57% of the most popular cigarettes (MPPC) price, but not less than 64 Euros for 1000 cigarettes. Through the modifications made to the Fiscal Code in April 2006 by the OU 33/2006 the government approved the tax level, which will increase gradually until it reaches the required level. (In 2006, this happened two times, at an approximately two month s interval). According to the decision, the tax of the cigarettes will be calculated by means of ... This means the elimination of the sub medium and medium cigarettes producers and the consolidation of the position of premium and prestige cigarettes producers. They will share the remaining market shares, favouring the creation of a symmetrical oligopoly. The computations demonstrate that the main producers on the market will remain BAT and PM, who s portfolio mainly consists premium cigarettes and which will distribute the remaining 10% between themselves after the elimination of the small ones, as well as the 10% lost by their main competitor, JTI. Thus, the competition on the market will be significantly diminished through the eradication of the very condition of a competitive market the existence of a sufficiently large enough number of producers so that the price is a result of the balance between offer and demand, as article 4 from the Competition Law stipulates. 95 By imposing the minimum tax, the base and value cigarettes producers will be forced to choose between two alternatives equally disadvantageous to them: either they sell at a lower price, and they lose, or they sell at the minimum price of 2.6 RON, and their sales go down. Due to this, their autonomy is affected, and also the freedom of trade (art. 9). The consumer has a limited possibility to choose and is forced to accept a higher price for a base or value product, which affects his/her welfare. Organ transplantation involves replacing the organs that have failed in their functions. The lives of many people, including children, has been prolonged when organ transplantation was performed successfully. Organ transplantation has become a major public health issue in the United States due to its attributable death rate and to its excessive cost. The number of organs which are offered for transplantation is limited. Hence, there is a waiting list for receiving the organs. For example, during the last decade in the United States, the available kidneys for transplantation were 11,000 per year while the waiting list for kidney transplantation has exceeded ... • 5. Wolof Research Paper As the African proverb goes, If you want people to understand you, speak their language. Such was the case for the Wolof tribe when France colonized their native country of Senegal, located on the northern West coast of Africa, in the early 20th century. Before the French arrived, Senegal had been a constantly changing domain. The Portuguese, Dutch, British, and French fought back and forth over outposts such as the small island of Gorée, part of modern day Dakar, Senegal. It was finally returned to the French by the British in 1815, after the Napoleonic wars, and the French began their expansion into the mainland (Diallo). However, as the French ventured farther into Africa, they encountered the Wolof, a people who had been denizens of Senegal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The history of the Wolof people can be traced back to the great kingdoms of pre colonial Senegal, prior to 1946. Kayor and Baol, two of these empires, are often cited as examples of the Wolof resistance to French colonialism due to the lasting of their culture and language (National African Language Resource Center). Even after French was deemed the official language, people continued to use Wolof. Since then, the term Wolofization has been coined to describe its spread. Wolof people make up about 40% of the nine million Senegalese, representing the largest single ethnic group at approximately 44.5% in the 2004 census ( Wolof ). In addition, Wolof is spoken as a first or second language by more than 90% of the population (Diallo), by over 5.2 million speakers (Thompson). French, however, doesn t even rank in the top six national languages, with only about 20% as a second language, and 1% as a first (Diallo). Strong Wolof presence can be seen not just lingually, since independence, but the Wolof have played a leading role culturally, politically, and economically in Senegal too. The Wolof people remain the single largest Ethnic group in Senegal, and despite the country s weak economy, the Wolof have built a reputation for international commerce and trading. In addition, Wolof businesspeople can be found throughout Africa, Europe, and even on the streets of New York City and Washington, D.C. ( Wolof ). In resistance to the French national language, Wolof has continued and maintained it s status as the lingua ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. College Benefits In College When I was in school, my mother stressed education. I am so glad she did. I graduated from Yale College and Yale University with my master s and I didn t do it by missing school (Angela Bassett). Everyone has their own experience in college whether good or bad. School is home to me, ever since Middle school after I finally grasped the art of studying. In high school I thought attending either a two year or four year college consisted of me working hard to achieve a degree that would in turn help me land a job. Not only would I walk away with a degree to help me out when it came down to looking for a job, but the useful and successful skills would also come in handy. But, in my freshman year really open my eyes to see that college is so much bigger than what I originally thought. Earning an education enables us to succeed academically, make better career choices and build self confidence In addition, not only does attending college get you one step closer to being qualified for a career of your dreams, but college also allows you to have fun while you work hard. Now, going to college can be exciting because you get to meet new people who have the same interests as you. Then, you can also explore a whole new branch of math, science, and languages. We could even take some of classes that captures our interest and work hard towards that degree in the end which will help secure a job after graduation. • 7. Venice Brianna Couture Professor Romero July 7th 2014 Venice Against The Sea Venice is evolving into a crumbling museum says Keahey. In his extensively researched book, Venice against the Sea, Keahey states Venice has sunk six feet over the past 1000 years. While its historical importance as a major hub for trade is over, it remains economically lucrative due to its historically rich Myth of Venice and its significant cultural importance. Venice against the sea describes how the city is being assaulted by climate change along with environmental degradation compounded by a corrupt political system and the very tourism that sustains it. In a 2000 CNN interview then Mayor, Paola Costa states, we risk disappearing due to excess love...all those who are using Venice for their own interests must make a contribution to preserve the myth The effects of rising sea water and global warming on the lagoon city are resulting in significant flooding, the worst of which occurred in 1966, the Acqua Alta or high water. It isn t just climate change that jeopardizes Venice, it was the lapse in upkeep of the foundation, short sighted expansion and redesigning of water ways and the pumping of ground water from beneath Venice that is hastening its sinking. In 1970 this practice was called to a halt. But this danger to Venice is not a new occurrence in Venice s history, but it is the severity and frequency of the flooding that is accelerating the damage and sinking. The danger from the high ... • 9. Advantages Of Long-Distance Relationship Being in a relationship such as a long distance one can be hard. There s the distance, of course, but also the lack of communication and touch. These things shouldn t have to limit the amazing love that comes out of an LDR. I have amazing experience of being with someone in this type of relationship. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year. Getting to know someone before you enter a relationship like this is so important. There is a foundation you build and you get to know that person for who they are, how they live and generally how they treat you. I knew my boyfriend for around nine months before we started liking one another and became a couple. Before you start thinking anything along the lines of cat fishing, that is why we took the time to get to know one another. We called one another, video chatted on Skype and played games with each other, because that is how we met and how we kept things going. Eventually it turned to us only talking to one another, making jokes and telling stories. Although lots of people believe that long distance relationships cannot last, the relationship that I have with my boyfriend in New York shows that long distance relationships can really last. In long distance relationships, interaction is something that is very important. It brings a couple together and it is what holds them together when they are apart; the constant excitement of getting to see them again. This is when technology comes in. Long distance ... • 10. Royal Ontario Museum Research Paper Museums are institutions of cultural, artistic, and scientific knowledge. They have taken many forms over the centuries, Older museums subscribed to elitist ideologies. The architecture and interior design of these highbrow establishments reflected this with either over the top grandeur or stark, blinding white galleries. However, has museum values became rooted in the community and public education, the architecture changed as well. The Royal Ontario Museum consists of two interconnected main buildings. The original build and its early 1933 renovation are an exemplar of traditional sensibilities. In stark contrast to them, however, is the Michael Lee Chin Crystal which embodies the essence of new museum aesthetics. The design of the Royal Ontario Museum is a perfect blend of traditional and new museum values as is evident in its innovative design. Early 18th and 19th century museums and many other buildings were built in the neoclassical style. Inspiration was taken directly from recently excavated Roman ruins. Early museums acted more like over the top cabinets of wonder, catering only to academics and elite individuals. However as so too did museum designs. Of course, museums exist in a multitude of architectural styles. The list of historical buildings that act as museums is endless. International style arose to reflect the modernist art style and the social sensibilities of the 20th century. This design was often composed of simple material and straight lines. The goal of international style was to act as a blank canvas on which to display artworks. It wasn t until later in the 20th century that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. Malnutrition And Crohn s Disease Malnutrition is a condition in which a person is not getting the right amount of nutrients that they need to remain healthy. It can range from being mild to being detrimental to both physical and mental health. It can occur because a person is not eating a diet that provides enough nutrients the body needs, or the person is not absorbing the nutrients that the body is receiving. Even lacking one vitamin from your diet is considered malnutrition. Malnutrition can also be a result of Crohn s disease, cystic fibrosis, celiac disease, or persistent diarrhea or vomiting. Having anorexia is also a cause of malnutrition because of the restrictive calorie intake. The rules ensure privacy and confidentiality since all communication during mediation are deemed to be confidential and shall not be admissible in evidence. Mediation is also deemed to be a confidential process as compared to litigation since parties can conduct proceedings in private. Confidentiality is essential for mediation to be effective. In the court annexed mediation program in Kenya, confidentiality requirements are taken into account in the Mediation (Pilot Project) Rules, 2015. It has been astutely highlighted that the higher the level of participation required, the greater the coercion by forcing a party to present its case in a manner not of its choosing. In other words, excessive control by the courts should be avoided, since it will compromise the parties right of self determination. While it may be argued that lenient standards would not penalize parties who are blatantly uncooperative during the mediation, it is equally, if not more, important, that the parties should be free to conduct themselves as they see fit during the mediation. ... • 14. George S. Patton Rhetorical Leadership Respected by most, yet feared by many, General George S. Patton was one of the most profound leaders the United States Army has ever had. He took part throughout the Mexican Revolution, World War One, and dominating the stage throughout World War Two. His career as an officer took stage shortly after his graduation from The United States Army Military Academy, where he branched as a cavalry officer (Patton, Wikipedia, 2017). Inpatient and young, he eventually went on his first deployment as a lieutenant to take part in the battle of San Miguelito. It was in Mexico that Patton met General John Joseph Pershing, where it is believed that he based a lot of his military leadership styles on the way Pershing led his troops (Pershing, Wikipedia, 2017). Through imitating Pershing, George had some of the most courageous leadership styles known widely throughout, where many praised his bravery, yet several found him foolish. Following the battle of San Miguelito, Patton was promoted to Captain and appointed by General Pershing to the head of the new AEF Tank Corps. (Pershing, Wikipedia, 2017). It was throughout the process of developing the AEF Tank Corps. that I feel Patton demonstrated his most profound adaptive leadership trait, drive. George Patton was driven in anything and everything he did for the AEF Tank Corps. He implemented his own ideas, tactics, design, uniform, and procedures in a way that revolutionized war (PATTON 360, 2015). The United States had never had an armor ... • 18. Mung Beans Abstract The Seeds of Mung bean, wheat, and silver beet were tested in environments of differing salinities to note down if high salinity environments were worse for the seeds. It was found that generally lower concentrations were better for germination then higher concentrations. Despite this, the hypothesis was not completely supported as in wheat and silver beet the second concentration had a higher rate of germination than the control and in all instances the highest concentration had a higher germination rate than the second highest concentration. Introduction Salinity refers to salt dissolved in a substance such as water or soil. Different plants have differing levels of salt tolerance, due to certain adoptions to specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because less water is taken up, more water remains, and when the water evaporates from the soil, salt which has been low below ground for millions of years is brought to the surface, surrounding these new plants and depriving them of further water (DENR SA, 2010). This process can be made worse by the irrigation of crops, which result in more water soaking into the soil and thus more water to evaporate and carry salt to the soil s surface (DENR SA, 2010). An example of a plant adapted to high salinity environments is the mangrove. The mangrove is a halophilous plant, meaning that it is a plant that grows in saline soils and waters (Conservancy Association, 2010). This gives it an advantage as not many plants can live in these conditions. The mangrove handles these high salinity conditions in a number of methods. The first method is through salt exclusion, which is the process the mangrove uses to prevent salt from entering its roots and therefore stopping it being transported to the plant cells (Conservancy Association, 2010). Despite this, some salt still gets through to the cells, and there are more methods to deal with it. With mangroves such as the Black Mangrove, salt can be excreted through its tissues, through specific salt glands (Conservancy Association, 2010). Another method is the storage of this salt on the leaves of the plant, in the form of crystals. These leaves then drop to the ground, taking this salt with them (Conservancy ... • 20. Essay on Asian Women in the Eyes of Americans Introduction The history of Asian women has many facets. I am about to touch on two key monumental points over a sixty year span that have shaped the views of Asian women in the eyes of Americans. As a brief overview, from as early as the 1940s, Asian women were recruited to serve their soldiers during World War II as sex slaves. Forty years later, the dawning of the 1980s brought about the desire of Asian women into American households and sparked the mail order bride phenomenon. Commanders of a military unit, or the camp where comfort stations existed, monopolized the overnight stay privileges. When the war ended, most comfort women were simply abandoned. The comfort women have been hidden victims for over half a century. Having been victims of sexual violence, where a woman s chastity is upheld as more important than life itself, many of these women have blamed themselves and kept their sufferings from family members and the community, fearing tainting of the family name. Stetz and Oh indicate although WWII has ended and is now a mass piece of history, the comfort women ordeal still exists today. They continue their isolated existence in poverty and poor health. They have not regained their honor nor had their pains eased. These women continue to endure insulting comments made by irresponsible Japanese officials and by neoconservative nationalists, who claim that many Asian women were merely sex workers for money during WWII. As of the end of January in 1998, the top aide to Japanese prime minister Hashimoto suggested that many women became comfort women for money and that the Japanese military s use of these women was justified by the moves of the times. Moralism In The Interlopers Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in who we are, we choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our blood, until the threat of death opens us to more options. We choose to imitate certain individuals whose beliefs we associate with more than others. More likely than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our close relatives; they often have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted with us. Because we are raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit the same qualities and interests, allies and enemies. Ulrich Van Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were brought up by separate families who share a long series of poaching affrays and similar scandals [that] had embittered the relationships between the families for three generations, (Saki 6). The way they choose to view each other Georg as a petty forest thief and game snatcher (8), and Ulrich as a greedy landowner is not a result of one s wrongdoing against the other, but rather an ongoing hatred for each other s families. Instead of burying the old quarrel alongside their grandfathers, certain individuals in their families chose to continue it, and now, Ulrich had come to be head of his family and Georg Znaeym, the inheritor of the quarrel, (7 emphasis added). • 26. The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The... Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration. Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders, so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the individuals who are elders. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Theme Of Patriarchy In The Epic Of Gilgamesh For centuries, books, television shows, even beloved childhood movies have subtly reinforced the social construct of patriarchy. Classic movies such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty follow the typical story line of a damsel in distress, followed by a heroic man coming to her rescue. This conception of a male focused storyline is nothing new and is an aspect that constitutes patriarchy, which has existed since the advent of agriculture and has persisted throughout the centuries. In fact, patriarchy was a major theme that was reinforced in the first story ever recovered; The Epic of Gilgamesh was written as early as 2000 BC in Mesopotamia and is loosely based on the Sumerian king, Gilgamesh. The story tells of Gilgamesh s adventures with his friend Enkidu as they conquer everything from other men to the Bull of Heaven. Throughout the story, patriarchy is heavily reinforced. Although the driving force behind patriarchy is personal attainment of security and status, a number of objectively undesirable events result such as the subjugation of women and societies that value control and dominance. The narrator reinforces different aspects of patriarchy in The Epic of Gilgamesh by portraying men in a good light and women in a bad one, focusing society around males, withholding agency from female females, normalizing violence, and creating the need for unequal relationships between men and women. The narrator of this epic consistently reinforced the stereotypical gender roles and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the environment of the Asiatic black bear, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Rhetorical Analysis Of Invictus Invictus Rhetorical Analysis Essay A time of difficulties always comes and goes and it has always been known to stay strong during those times. This, in many ways, connects to countless people, including great writers who often describe their difficult times through acting or other forms of writing. William Ernest Henley was an author who used his challenges to write a poem. This was a dramatic but motivational poem that heavily used rhetorical devices to describe how he managed through his darkest times. William Ernest Henley took use of personification, connotation, and alliteration in the poem Invictus to prove that anyone can overcome obstacles by staying strong and believing in themselves. For a start, Henley gave human like characteristics to words so he could, in a way, visually show that the mind should always remain strong in difficult times by using personification. He dramatically describes that sometimes not everything goes accordingly as he says, In the fell clutch of circumstance (5). Here, the author makes circumstance seem evil or bad. The action that he characterized circumstance of doing expresses that challenges can come at the worst times. Even more, he is describing that circumstance has a fell clutch implying that he went through a horribly long and dark period. This gives the reader a perspective that occasionally things do not always go their way. It connects to the theme that difficult times are always thrown at one s way and that they may not always be prepared for the challenging part of those times. Henley took advantage of personification once again to relate to his theme. Henley shows his courage through his dark times by saying, And yet the menace of the years/Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. (11 12) Here, Henley makes the word year seem mean or cruel. He does this by describing that it is a menace otherwise implying that it is harsh or cruel. By including that it searches for him, he also indicates that he ran into difficult times often, but stays optimistic by saying that it found him unafraid. This makes the reader aware that even though challenges always come up, they should always be courageous, just like he was. Henley writes that he stayed positive during ...
