The Bombing Of Lahore, Pakistan
On Easter Sunday, Lahore, Pakistan was next in a growing list of countries attacked on a large by a
suicide bomber in the past six months. The bombing, later claimed by Taliban affiliate Jamaat ul
Ahrar, targeted a park populated with Christian women and children celebrating the holiday. Photos of
bloody victims and rescuers soon surfaced as well as first hand accounts of the explosion. The sheer
horror and violent nature of the story and the photos as well as the constant international attention on
terrorism makes the story impactful and fits with the unfortunately familiar narrative that has
developed in the post 9/11 world. The story broke on Easter morning all over the world, and therefore,

American Politics for how stories are deemed newsworthy (113 114). However, the final criterion,

Desiderius Erasmus, believed to be the illegitimate son of a Priest named Gerard, was born around
1466 in the Netherlands. He is also believed to have been born with a different name, and his birthday

education by sending him to a prestigious Latin school when he was 9 years old. However, when
Erasmus s parents died, he was sent to live with guardians who strongly believed that he should
become a Monk. During this time, Erasmus gained a personal relationship with God but was opposed
to the strict rules and teachings of the school. Poverty eventually forced Erasmus into a monastery in
1492, where he was ordained a Catholic priest. He then became the secretary for Henry de Bergen, the
