An Analytical Expression for Electromechanical Oscillation Frequency
Yongli Zhu, Student Member, IEEE, Kai Sun, Senior Member, IEEE
Abstract In this letter, a mathematic proof and improvement of a classic result for multi machine
systems modal analysis is given considering non uniform damping and line resistance. An analytical
formula is derived for the estimation of electromechanical oscillation frequency. Matrix theory based
proof is conducted via determinant simplification and matrix triangularization. A half size shrunken
system matrix is obtained, which brings an extra benefit of faster eigenvalue solving. The accuracy of
the formula is validated against public available toolbox on two large power systems. the results

The Tension between Argentina and Britian
Argentina and Britain have always had mild tension between them almost since the the independence
of Argentina, this main cause of tension has always been over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.
Britain first claimed sovereignty of the Islands in 1765 alongside France around approximately the
same time, however France transferred it s settlements to Spain in 1767. Britain left their settlement
on the Island in 1774 but claimed they never relinquished sovereignty. Spain also abandoned their
settlement later in 1811. (BBC News , 2013)
In 1820 an Argentine merchant, Luis Vernet, tried to established commercial settlements on the
islands. These settlements were not officially claimed by Argentina until 1828, when Luis Vernet
submitted his proposal for official recognition of his commercial settlement on Malvinas to become an
Argentine colony. The Argentine government, shortly after receiving the proposal, declared their claim
to the islands. (Lorton, 2012)
In 1833 the first conflict between Britain and Argentina occurred in regards to the islands. Britain had
returned to islands to expel the Argentine garrison, the British removed the Argentine flag flying on
the island and sent it back with their men to the mainland with a message, the British had found, a
foreign flag in the territory of His Majesty. (Lorton, 2012, p.g 151). The Argentine settlers on the
Island were allowed to remain alsong as the accepted British rule, however most settlers left gradually
after.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION REPORT BASED ON THE LATEST NATIONAL PASSENGER
SURVEY (SPRING 2011)
AUTHOR: ONUR AYAN
DATE: 27/10/2011
TO: MANAGERS OF SOUTH WEST TRAINS
Summary
In this report we have analysed the results of National Passenger Survey. The research gives us vital
information about our customers opinions on our services.
From the analysis it could be seen that the recent priority issues are the lack of employees in direct
service areas, parking place problems and physical conditions of our assets. Nearly 5 in 10 of our
customers are not happy about the availability of our staff. Almost half of our customers are declaring
that they have problems about finding a parking place. Approximately %50 of our customers is ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important that only %50 (nearly) of our customers are thinking that our staff are generally
available to help them. The responses of our staff are generally taking pleasure of our customers.
2.3 Physical conditions
General satisfaction level from the physical conditions of our assets is nearly %60. There are no
significant changes since last year.
2.4 Before after journey transport facilities
There is a significant decrease on the number of our satisfied customers thinking that it is convenient
to pass other forms of public transport, %82 to %71 (Peak times). The general satisfaction is nearly
%73 in present. The satisfaction from the facilities for car parking is decreased %7.
3. Conclusions
The research has shown us the general satisfaction levels of customers. It is important to know that
only %35 of our customers have replied the survey. The most important segments are satisfaction
levels of facilities and services, availability of staff and car parking facilities. Low levels of these
segments could be caused by our new routes. The secondarily important segment is the customers
satisfaction from the physical conditions of our trains and stations. These areas should be focussed in
recent period. The research showed that the satisfaction level in peak times is slightly fewer than the
off peak times.
Generally, we might say that there is no significant changes happened in the customer satisfaction

Battle Of Kings Mountain Essay
Thesis
This paper will examine the British and American Southern Loyalist defeat in the Battle of Kings
Mountain and discuss the assumptions the British made including loyalist support, logistic support,
and terrain advantage.
Introduction
The Battle of King s Mountain between the American Loyalist and American Patriots took place on
October 7, 1780 near Blackburn, South Carolina and Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Major Patrick
Ferguson s American Loyalist augmented to the Ninety Six District, South Carolina, totaled 1,200
men. (Hickman, 2015) Ferguson s 1,200 men included, Tories from the King s American Rangers,
New Jersey Volunteers, and the Loyal American Regiment. (Wicker, 1998)
The American Patriots totaled 900 men under the leaderships of William Campbell, James Johnston,
John Sevier, Benjamin Cleveland, Joseph Winston, Joseph McDowell, Frederick Hambright, James
Williams, and Colonel Isaac Shelby. (Hickman, 2015) These American Patriots referred to as the Over

Some came on horseback while others walked. They wore doeskins, carried large knives around their
waist, and had long rifles. (Wicker, 1998) They were skilled hunters and all sharpshooters. They men
organized, but lacked military discipline. They did not follow any protocol. They chose among
themselves, whose leadership they would follow. (Wicker, 1998) The British dismissed them to be no
threat. (Jones, 2009) While waiting for other men to arrive, the patriot militia prepared for the cross
country march. They prepared their clothing and equipment. They packed food such as corn and jerky
for the journey. They tended to the horses and cleaned their rifles. They mined lead from near hillsides
to make ammunitions. Their local populace supplied them gunpowder. (Jones,

Abraham De Vries Double Portraits
Portrait painting thrived in the Netherlands with the increase in production driven by interest in the
idea of personhood and the definition of the individual self. Portraits help document the development
of a personal identity as it connects factors like marital status, class, and profession. A common
portrait genre produced during the seventeenth century portrays their subjects with an impassive
demeanor with little vigor. At first, these paintings may be evaluated as lacking personality or
characterization due to the artist s lack of talent. However, this is rarely the case. In trying to
understand Dutch portraiture, it is important to identify what type of functions they serve. Abraham de
Vries Double Portrait functions not only as recording of his sitters faces but also as a signifier of the
cultural, social and philosophical ideas of the time.
Abraham de Vries Double Portrait depicts a man and a woman sitting at a table. The woman looks up
from her reading while the man turns in his chair. Both of them look out of the frame into the viewer s
space. There is a calm, unified axis of the head and the body for both ... Show more content on

Their close proximity does not translate into a sense of togetherness. Unlike Frans Hals Marriage
Portrait of Isaac Massa and Beatrix van der Laen, there is no intimacy found within the gesture of de
Vries couple. The casual poses and smiles that Isaac and Beatrix share are not present in de Vries
couple. Hals light hearted attitude has also been replaced with a meditative state. This does not mean
the couple has no relationship to each other. Instead of their bond hinging on physical touches, their
spiritual connections are emphasized. The Bible symbolizes the spiritual side and by having both
figures touch it, it shows their connection through religion. The fact that the Bible is the only thing on
the table also highlights this

Carson Silent Spring Analysis
Carson s introduction to her Silent Spring portrays the utter destruction of the environment caused by
us humans disdain towards nature through our constant use of pesticides; therefore, she urges her
audience to recognize the significance of maintaining the health of our environment lest we want to
live in her bleak description of our future Earth. Carson opens up with the juxtaposition of two worlds:
one beautiful and untouched, and one deserted and barren. Her change in diction from positive to
malign illustrates the contrast, going from words like prosperous and beauty to blight, death, and
sickness. By showing the complete opposite sides of the spectrum, Carson exemplifies how ruinous
the use of pesticides is on the environment,

Bechtel s Greed
In April of 2000 thousands of Bolivians protested that their water supply had been privatized to a U.S.
based corporation, Bechtel, as part of a loan program with the World Bank and the International
Monetary Fund (IMF). Bechtel has vast political influence as demonstrated by how they made over $1
billion during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, second only to Halliburton, largely from no bid
contracts. Predictably, this company s greed showed no limits, even in one of the poorest countries in
the world. Water prices skyrocketed immediately to almost double the previous prices and Bolivians
were actually expected to pay Bechtel for collecting their own rainwater. Even though the new policy
was clearly disastrous, the former Bolivian President ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

every year billions of dollars are spent on U.S. military foreign aid throughout Latin America, another
unofficial stimulus package for the military industrial complex. We re essentially buying our military
and economic allies. From 2005 to 2009, the government spent more than $3.1 billion on
counternarcotics contracts in Latin America. The majority of that funding, $1.8 billion, went to only
five contractors: DynCorp, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, ITT, and ARINC. The top recipient from that
group, DynCorp, received $1.1 billion. That should be no surprise as DynCorp is exceedingly
connected politically with former executives who include cabinet members from the Reagan
administration, George Shultz and Caspar Weinberger. Also, Bill Clinton s former drug czar, Gen.
Barry McCaffrey, is one of DynCorp s board members. Mexico is one of the largest recipients of U.S.
military aid for counternarcotics operations. Since 2008, the U.S. has provided training, equipment,
and intelligence through the Mérida Initiative. This is a substantial program that has equipped the
Mexican government with $2.3 billion in military aid since 2008. This policy defies common sense as
there is a long history of drug corruption in Mexico. The most powerful cartels have been protected,
while their rivals have been targeted by the Mexican law enforcement. Inserting the Mexican military
into the equation only adds another layer of

Constantine Stanislavsky is the Father of Today s Style...
Stanislavsky is the father of today s style of acting. Constantine Stanislavsky (1863 1938) was the
innovator for method acting. He changed the process of acting in which actors immerse themselves
into their characters as much as possible. He wanted acting to change to a realistic art. Stanislavsky
wanted his actors to avoid habitual mannerisms on stage (Worthen, 33). He used a method that
includes five techniques to help an actor submerge into their characters. The magic if, re education,
observation, motivation and emotional memory are all techniques Stanislavsky used to help mold his
actors (Bradford).
The first technique requires the actor to use their imagination. The magic if requires the actor to ask
themselves what my character would do in this situation. The next technique used is reeducation.
Whether it s being onstage to a live audience or on film, actors need to find a way to display true
human life movement. When figuring out body movement or body language actors must think of
every action as part of their character. Stanislavsky encouraged his students to observe people
whenever possible. He encouraged them to study their physical traits as well as their personality.
Stanislavsky reminded his students that every person is unique and therefore each unique trait should
be exhibited. The technique is a very valuable tool because actors often find inspiration by observing
others. Actors often ask themselves what is my motivation? This process entails a lot of why

The Second Amendment Of The United States Constitution
Gun control is an ineffective means of reducing both violent, and firearm related crime. Limiting the
ability for law abiding citizens to responsibly own arms only reduces their ability to provide to
provide security to themselves and their family. It is not the duty of the federal government to dictate
what a citizen chooses to legally defend themselves with. The second amendment of the United States
Constitution was ratified on the 15 of December, 1791 and was drafted by future president James
Madison. The text of the second amendment reads A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. There has

Currently in the United states there are over 18,000 firearm laws in place. The first federally mandated
firearm law was the National Firearm Act of 1934. This firearm act, which is still in place today,
required a Federal Firearms License to be obtained by anyone in the business of buying, selling, and
manufacturing firearms. The National Firearms Act also required all NFA firearms to be registered
with the Secretary of the Treasury. NFA firearms at the creation of the NFA included rifles and
shotguns with a barrel length under 18 inches, machine guns, and firearm silencers. To purchase any
of these firearms a $200.00 tax was imposed on every transaction with one of these firearms in an
effort to prevent criminals from purchasing such firearms as they were said to have been popular with
the gangsters of that era. The Bureau of Alcohol tobacco and Firearms defines a machine gun as a
firearm with select fire capabilities. Select fire means that the firearm has both full and semi automatic
fire capabilities. Semi automatic means that for every one pull of the trigger, one bullet will be fired.
Fully automatic means that for as long as the trigger is pulled, the firearms will continue to fire. On
May 19th 1986, the Firearm Owners Protection Act prevented the sale and transfer of machine guns
produced after May 1986. This provision excluded machine guns registered before May 1986 and
machine guns sold to government agencies. With only

Molar Concentration Lab Report
Introduction:
In 1909 S.P.L. Sorensen published a paper in Biochem Z in which he discussed the effect of H1+ ions
on the activity of enzymes. In the paper he invented the term pH to describe this effect and defined it
as the log[H1+ ]. In 1924 Sorensen realized that the pH of a solution is a function of the quot;activity
quot; of the H1+ ion not the concentration and published a second paper on the subject. A better
definition would be pH= log[aH1+ ], where aH1+ denotes the activity of the H1+ ion. The activity of
an ion is a function of many variables of which concentration is one. It is unfortunate that chemistry
texts use a definition for pH that has been obsolete for over 50 years.

In the real world, competitors compete to get rid of competition. Recently a number of questions have

The On Neural Tube Deficiency
Neural tube deficiency happens in about 80,000 and 100,000 pregnancies in China. It causes the
offspring to be born with defects of the brain, spine, or spinal cord. They happen in the first month of
pregnancy and both genetic and environments contribute to the cause. Numerous prospective,
retrospective and controlled trial studies have suggested proper folic acid supplementation for
pregnant women can reduce the incidence of NTDs in their offspring. Association between folic acid
supplementation or dietary folate intake and NTDs risk may be affected by maternal body mass index.
Studies have suggested the risk of NTDs in offspring among obese mothers have not decreased. Body
mass index greater than 31kg is at risk of delivering an offspring with NTDs. Other studies find more
than 400mg of folate intake from diet per day is only protective against NTDs in women who weigh
less than 154.3Ibs. A total of 459 pairs of participants took part in the study: 259 pairs were from
Shandong Province and 200 pairs were from Shanxi Province. Mothers who gave birth to healthy
infants in the same area, same hospital and within the same time as the another group was the
controlled groups. The mothers were separated by Underweight/normal weight BMI less than 24.0 and
overweight/obese mothers BMI greater than 24.0. Given folic acid was defined as taking 0.4mg of a

Who Is Friar Lawrence To Blame
Bittersweet Destinies Have you ever been blamed for something you didn t know would happen? The
play, Romeo and Juliet, was written by William Shakespeare. It was a tragic love story of two star
crossed lovers who struggled to keep their affair a secret from their families. I believe Friar Lawrence
is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet because of the ideas and advice he gives to them. If the
ideas of the Friar were more planned out and better thought out, the play could have ended happily,
but alas, it doesn t. Friar Lawrence is to blame because, he agrees to marry them, but this could lead to
their own destruction. Friar marries Romeo and Juliet because he wants the feud to end. He doesn t
say it specifically to anyone but the text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Near the end of the play, Friar comes up with an idea to get Romeo and Juliet back together. With
Romeo being banished to Mantua, he writes him a letter to explain what will happen and where it will
take place. He then gives this letter to Friar John, who is supposed to deliver the letter, but it is later
found out that he was held in quarantine and was unable to deliver it. While this is taking place, Friar
Lawrence gives Juliet a vile and tells her to drink it, saying that it will put her in a death like state for
48 hours. Once she is found dead she will be laid in the family tomb. Once the 48 hours are up, she
will awaken and Romeo was supposed to come and take her somewhere safe where they can be
together. This plan backfired when Romeo didn t receive the Friar s letter and took matters into his
own hands when Balthazar tells him Juliet is dead. Because Balthazar believes Juliet is truly dead,
Romeo believes that this is the news that was supposed to come from the Friar. Romeo then paid for a
bottle of poison that he will drink when he lies next to Juliet. If Friar s plan would have succeeded,
they would be together and they could work out a plan to keep them both safe and end the family feud.

Spain s territory. Everything happened in 1862, where British Honduras became the official colony of
Great Britain with the Guatemalan Treaty puts thing to an end in an anonymous note. Today British

Though the Maya were not allowed to own land, most of the refugees were small farmers who were
growing considerable quantities of crops by the mid 19th century.
One group of Maya led by Marcos Canul attacked a mahogany camp on the Bravo River in 1866. A
detachment of British troops sent to San Pedro was defeated by the Maya later that year. Early in 1867
British troops marched into areas in which the Maya had settled and destroyed villages in an attempt
to drive them out. The Maya returned and in April 1870 Canul and his men occupied Corozal. An
unsuccessful 1872 attack by the Maya on Orange Walk was the last serious attack on the British
colony.
In the 1880s and 1890s, Mopan and Kekchí Maya fled from forced labor in Guatemala and settled in
several villages in southern British Honduras. Under the policy of indirect rule, a system of elected

settlements resulted in the Mopan and Kekchí Maya becoming less assimilated into the colony than
the Maya of the north, where a Mestizo culture emerged. By the end of the 19th century, the ethnic
pattern that remained largely intact throughout the 20th century was in place: Protestants largely of
African descent, who spoke either English or Creole and lived in Belize Town; the Roman Catholic

Sonia Singh, United Kingdom, Health Economics
The Economics of Pediatric Head Injury
Growing up in India I was told that as a girl, education would make me a suitable bride. With a
passion for learning and desire to be independent, rebelling against the tradition of marriage after high
school, I applied for entrance to medical school instead. Acceptance in to one of the best medical
schools in India, the Armed Forces Medical College, changed my life by exposing me to strong
women role models in medicine. To explore my interest in research after medical school, I received a
scholarship for Ph.D. studies at Rutgers University in the United States. Although this has been
interrupted by clinical training and family needs, I continued my focus on understanding and teaching
biostatistics, epidemiology, and evidence based medicine.
As my journey in academics started, I faced the challenge and responsibility of becoming a single
parent. Fueled by a desire to learn about economics and finance, I did what comes naturally to me?to
go to school. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh sponsored the study to
support my vision for adding the knowledge of business to the practice of medicine. For eighteen
months, I did the ?unthinkable?: working full time, studying full time, and raising a six year old. This
was by far the most exhausting and yet the most inspiring time of my life as I completed the M.B.A.
program. Further, travelling to Japan and

hosting up to 80,000 people per event. The WCC is most commonly used to host conventions and
conferences. However, they do have smaller rooms available for events with fewer people. Another
large venue is the Georgia Dome. Located in the heart of the city, the Dome is used for sporting events
as well as large entertainment events. The Dome is the largest cable supported stadium in the world.
Atlanta has many hotels that serve as convention centers and allow the guests to have the convenience

The Importance Of Creationism In Schools
Creationism does not explain how the earth was created, therefore it should not be taught as a science
and should not be taught in schools. My thesis is important, because schools are trying to stop
teaching evolution because they believe it is not the way life on earth started. The teaching of
evolution in schools is important, because it teaches students the correct reason for how life on earth
started. The articles that I collected for my research, where academic journals from the library data
base and had a stand point towards science. My paper will give the reader a broader view point on
why creationism should not be taught in schools and how evolution should remain in schools.
Creationism has been a controversial topic in our school systems and schools in some states are
fighting to have it taught instead of evolution as a science. Creationism is the belief that all living
organisms originated from a biblical process instead of evolution. We will never really know how the
earth was created, but by the use of science, we can get a better understanding of it. Therefore
creationism should not be taught as a science and should not be taught in school. The teachers are the
people that have to deal with this topic the most because of all the pressure they get from school
administrators, parents and the community. Some science teachers have been told not to teach about
evolution, but they did it nevertheless. One of the most famous cases was the

Cultural Capital And Social Capital
Alongside both racist and sexist media constructionism, hackneyed class cliches are equally as
pervasive. Pierre Bourdieu coined the phrase cultural capital which is the representation of the cultural
knowledge, temperament and disposition that is inherited from generation to generation. Published to
the Oxford University Press, Pierre Bordieu explained his theory of cultural capital as consisting of
three elements: cultural capital can exist in three forms: in the embodied state, i.e., in the form of long
lasting dispositions of the mind and body; in the objectified state, in the form of cultural goods
(pictures, books, dictionaries, instruments, machines, etc.), which are the trace or realization of
theories or critiques of these theories, problematics, etc.; and in the institutionalized state, a form of
objectification which must be set apart because, as will be seen in the case of educational
qualifications, it confers entirely original properties on the cultural capital which it is presumed to
guarantee (Bourdieu 1978). Another important facet of Bordieu s theory of cultural capital is a habitus

Muscle Contraction Lab
This lab was conducted to test the muscle reaction to three different solutions and observe the muscle
contraction in the presence of each solution. We predicted that ATP solution in distilled water might
cause muscle contraction since ATP alone binds to myosin to break the cross bridge and enable the
myosin to rebind to actin at the next muscle contraction. ( ATP and Muscle Contraction. Boundless
Biology) All three groups were given a 2cm length of psoas muscle, which was placed on a
microscope slide with a small drop of glycerol. First, we measured each fiber, and then added 2 drops
of one of the solutions, Solution A; .25% ATP in distilled water, Solution B; .25% ATP solution in
water, .05M KCI, .001 M MgC12 in distilled water, and Solution C; .05 M KC1, .001 M MgC12 in
distilled water. We waited 30 seconds after adding the solution and we measured the fiber again to see
if there was any muscle concentration after adding the solution. Our hypothesis was not supported,
because the fiber size did not change.
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab was to learn if any of the three solutions used for the experiment would cause
the fiber to have a muscle contraction and if there wasn t any muscle contraction, understand why the
solution didn t cause a muscle contraction.

(Table 1) ATP alone causes myosin to break the cross bridge and allow the myosin to reattach to the
actin causing a muscle contraction, since the solution we used had ATP; I believed that that was
enough to cause the fiber contraction. I thought that we had done our experiment in correctly because
there was no muscle contraction. I believed that it was due to the amount of solution we added to the
fiber. We re did the experiment and added four drops of the solution but there was no muscle

Cameron Auto Part Essay
Please read Cameron Auto Parts Part (A) and answer those three guideline questions:
1. Should Cameron have licensed McTaggart or continued to export?
After I read this case, I can say that exporting is more profitable to Cameron because they can do
whatever they want at any time. This means that Cameron can earn the profit that it deserves, and it
will be only to itself. In other words, if Cameron continues exporting, it can maintain its independence
to manage better quality products at its own responsibility. Then, in the other side, the cost advantages
will be higher because of the results of the size of the operation and the cost of the unit; what it is a
benefit because in a long term the economies of scale will work to determine better ... Show more

Was McTaggart a good choice for licensee?
Yes, McTaggart was a good choice for license because it will help to make easier implementations.
The reason of this is that McTaggart reduces the financial risk that exporting could involve. Another
point is that as Cameron does not have the resources to capture foreign markets, McTaggart will do it
for less. Finally, Cameron will have patented its process.
As well, it is important to mention that McTaggart has excellent credit score and a reputation of 130
years as a family business that will operate the average factory wage rate for less than in America.
McTaggart will be looking to push sales in United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and India, and
with its actual clients.
3. Was the royalty rate reasonable? Did Cameron leave money on the table?
The royalty rate was too low and it left money on the table. The reason is that if they would have
decided for a higher rate, McTaggart could earn more benefit of it in the case of receive equipment
and training, as it said in the case that it was needed, and Cameron will receive more money because
of the sales that McTaggart could do. This is because McTaggart is already positioned and it has the
product in demand just for sale, and it will help Cameron to save money in duty, freight and insurance
because of the licensing that it will

Examples Of Rhetorical Devices In A Modest Proposal
USE OF SATIRICAL STRATEGIES IN A MODEST PROPOSAL BY JONOTHAN SWIFT
In his modest proposal, Jonathan Swift uses logical fallacies, repetition, metaphors, humor,
parallelism, sarcasm and satire. The devices are effectively used to examine the attitude of the rich
people towards the poor in the society. Jonathan starts by mocking the mothers for strolling in the
streets begging for alms instead of looking for jobs and putting something on the tables for children to
eat. Jonathan predicts that when the kids grow, they might turn out to be thieves as nobody taught
these kids to earn an honest living. He uses logical fallacies to try and make the proposal modest
though his line of thinking is not correct. He points out that a year old child is nourishing and
wholesome food. That a healthy child is delicious food to be prepared using any method of food
preparation is outrageous. He proposes that 20,000 children preserved for bleeding purposes. This is
dehumanizing children and comparing them to animals. He outlines how slaughterhouses should be
build and butchers be employed to do the slaughtering of children. In his exaggeration, he goes to the
point of saying that the kids will be roasted like pigs. ( ) Swift also uses irony when he says that there
are about 200,000 couples whose wives are just breeders. ( ) He proposes that an arrangement is made
to the rear and provide for these children. Here he compares women to animals because human beings
are not bred for commercial purposes. Here he dehumanizes human beings by use of satire. He gives
reasons as to why this is a good idea. First, he says that the method will decrease the number of
useless Catholics in Ireland. Secondly, he claims that the government will earn from exports of the
meat from Ireland. The mothers will also earn something from this breeding and a burden will be
lifted off their shoulders. He also foresees that the new delicacy will be welcomed in the taverns. The
marriage institution will also be enhanced because mothers will put in more effort in raising the best
kids because they would fetch good prices in the markets. To support his argument, Swift is sarcastic
that some parts of children s body are good for eating. He further notes that these

Impact Of Technology On Academic Performance
CHAPTER ONE THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE Introduction The classroom setting in the old
times consisted of teachers writing down their lessons on the board while the students copy them in
their notebooks. While this method is still practiced today, most schools now use technology in
learning. New methods of teachings are being introduced and applied in various schools in the
country. One of the improvements is the use of Powerpoint presentations for visual aids instead of the
traditional style of writing on the board or using cartolinas and manila papers. Due to this change,
students have also developed the technique of taking pictures or taking notes with the use of their

Swot Analysis Of Braum s Incorporation
Braum s Incorporation is a vertically integrated company (owns multiple segments of industry and
merges them together) which allows them to produce their products to the quality and standards they
want. The corporation produces meat, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables. They have 280 stores
located throughout Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, and the majority located in Oklahoma, where
their headquarters are (About Us 2016). The chains of stores located in these areas provide
hamburgers, ice cream, and a small grocery store for their customers. Although Braum s provides all
of these commodities they re mainly known for their ice cream. When it comes to the production of
these products and how much the company should produce each year many factors come into play.
Some of these factors include weather, taxes for that year, wage increases, outbreaks of pests
destroying crops, human error in the production line, increased gas and diesel fuel prices, and so on.
Many of these factors are random events from nature or a new law implemented by the government
that puts strict regulations on the production of a certain product. For instance, in 2014, a major
drought occurred in the Midwest states, which resulted in low water resources and the reduction of
feed for cattle produced that year. This resulted in an increase in beef prices and the reduction of beef
produced for that year (Midwest 2014). Events like this can make or break a business and it s up to the

2. Usability and simplicity:
WordPress developers may love WordPress development because of its Open Source nature, but
average users love WordPress because of its high user friendliness. For most other Content

knowledge neither do you need to understand programming language before you can use it. It works
on a principle of click and use, and drag and drop. Anyone can use it and use it quite well.
Perhaps you want to add some pages to your website or change the theme or color, you don t need to

Some of the issues with this type of tax are whether it should be per use, per month or per year.
Another issue involved with this tax is how it would be implemented and whether there would be
extra fees related to the type of connection. For example, would the fee be changed based on a DSL
vs. a regular modem connection? (Internet Taxation). The second type of tax involves intangible goods
or downloads such as: emails, software, music etcetera. Obviously, this tax would involve all those
that access this type of material. The administration of such a tax again poses a problem, for example,
how should international emails be handled or an international user who download software from an
American company web site. The final type of tax that could be levied is a sales tax. Although it
would only affect those who purchase items on line, it would have potential to be an enormous source
of revenue. Currently, the sales tax is the largest revenue source for federal, state and local
governments. (Internet Taxation) In 2003, online retail was estimated at 68.4 (epaynews) billion
dollars, all of which would be taxable and would increase the federal state and local tax revenues.
Again, administration and division of revenue cause a problem, but there is also the problem of
classification of the product. This is a problem because it is only subject to sales tax if it is classified
as a good. As seen, there are many different types of Internet taxation to be

However, the costs of war were very damaging on the economy. In simple terms, the Anzac legend is
the commemoration of the Anzac spirit, born and developed throughout the eight months on the
battlefield of Gallipoli. The horrible situations, made the Anzacs strong and resilient, they had to rely
upon mateship and each other to get through. Their larrikinism also helped to keep many in as good a
mood as possible. Australia was very proud of their soldiers and aspired to be like them, this meant
that soon the whole country adopted the qualities of the Anzac spirit and the building of a nation
began. This nation was not the newly federated country that still was much divided into the different
qualities, Gallipoli fixed that two. Because man from all different backgrounds and states fought
together they were properly united and brought that attitude back home. The Anzac legend has had a
positive impact, defining what it means to be Australian, however how did Gallipoli an WW1 impact
on Australia socially and economically. The failed Gallipoli campaign mean that bonds with Britain

The Importance Of Disengaged Students In Education
Teachers have been struggling with disengaged students for decades. In order to make any positive
strides in American education, educators need to focus on the one factor that can illuminate the
reasons for disengagement, the student. For the purposes of this paper, disengaged students are the
ones who do not exhibit active learning skills during a class period in school. These learners may over
socialize with peers, use digital devices throughout class, cut classes, leave class frequently, sleep, or
fail to submit in class and out of class assignments. In 2001, President Bush signed the No Child Left
Behind Act, instilling hope that the federal government could better hold K 12 schools accountable for
all students to have proficient academic outcomes (Klein, 2017). President Obama made changes to
the No Child Left Behind Act when 42 states needed waivers due to not reaching the proficiency
expectation. In 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act was enacted. This Act provides states with more
flexibility in order to help students meet proficiency. The Act also provides resources to secondary
institutions that struggle to meet graduation requirements ( ESSA Overview, 2017). In an effort to
align education across America, states could opt into utilizing the Common Core State Standards
beginning in 2009. This academic overhaul became the national effort in organizing education in
America by standardizing what is learned and when in K 12 schools. Currently, 42 states and the

An Analytical Expression For Electromechanical Oscillation...  An Analytical Expression for Electromechanical Oscillation Frequency Yongli Zhu, Student Member, IEEE, Kai Sun, Senior Member, IEEE Abstract In this letter, a mathematic proof and improvement of a classic result for multi machine systems modal analysis is given considering non uniform damping and line resistance. An analytical formula is derived for the estimation of electromechanical oscillation frequency. Matrix theory based proof is conducted via determinant simplification and matrix triangularization. A half size shrunken system matrix is obtained, which brings an extra benefit of faster eigenvalue solving. The accuracy of the formula is validated against public available toolbox on two large power systems. the results highlight the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1. The Tension between Argentina and Britian Argentina and Britain have always had mild tension between them almost since the the independence of Argentina, this main cause of tension has always been over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. Britain first claimed sovereignty of the Islands in 1765 alongside France around approximately the same time, however France transferred it s settlements to Spain in 1767. Britain left their settlement on the Island in 1774 but claimed they never relinquished sovereignty. Spain also abandoned their settlement later in 1811. (BBC News , 2013) In 1820 an Argentine merchant, Luis Vernet, tried to established commercial settlements on the islands. These settlements were not officially claimed by Argentina until 1828, when Luis Vernet submitted his proposal for official recognition of his commercial settlement on Malvinas to become an Argentine colony. The Argentine government, shortly after receiving the proposal, declared their claim to the islands. (Lorton, 2012) In 1833 the first conflict between Britain and Argentina occurred in regards to the islands. Britain had returned to islands to expel the Argentine garrison, the British removed the Argentine flag flying on the island and sent it back with their men to the mainland with a message, the British had found, a foreign flag in the territory of His Majesty. • 7. Abraham De Vries Double Portraits Portrait painting thrived in the Netherlands with the increase in production driven by interest in the idea of personhood and the definition of the individual self. Portraits help document the development of a personal identity as it connects factors like marital status, class, and profession. A common portrait genre produced during the seventeenth century portrays their subjects with an impassive demeanor with little vigor. At first, these paintings may be evaluated as lacking personality or characterization due to the artist s lack of talent. However, this is rarely the case. In trying to understand Dutch portraiture, it is important to identify what type of functions they serve. Abraham de Vries Double Portrait functions not only as recording of his sitters faces but also as a signifier of the cultural, social and philosophical ideas of the time. Abraham de Vries Double Portrait depicts a man and a woman sitting at a table. The woman looks up from her reading while the man turns in his chair. Predictably, this company s greed showed no limits, even in one of the poorest countries in the world. The majority of that funding, $1.8 billion, went to only five contractors: DynCorp, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, ITT, and ARINC. The top recipient from that group, DynCorp, received $1.1 billion. That should be no surprise as DynCorp is exceedingly connected politically with former executives who include cabinet members from the Reagan administration, George Shultz and Caspar Weinberger. Also, Bill Clinton s former drug czar, Gen. Barry McCaffrey, is one of DynCorp s board members. Mexico is one of the largest recipients of U.S. military aid for counternarcotics operations. Since 2008, the U.S. has provided training, equipment, and intelligence through the Mérida Initiative. This is a substantial program that has equipped the Mexican government with $2.3 billion in military aid since 2008. He changed the process of acting in which actors immerse themselves into their characters as much as possible. He wanted acting to change to a realistic art. Stanislavsky wanted his actors to avoid habitual mannerisms on stage (Worthen, 33). He used a method that includes five techniques to help an actor submerge into their characters. The magic if, re education, observation, motivation and emotional memory are all techniques Stanislavsky used to help mold his actors (Bradford). The first technique requires the actor to use their imagination. The magic if requires the actor to ask themselves what my character would do in this situation. The next technique used is reeducation. Whether it s being onstage to a live audience or on film, actors need to find a way to display true human life movement. When figuring out body movement or body language actors must think of every action as part of their character. Stanislavsky encouraged his students to observe people whenever possible. He encouraged them to study their physical traits as well as their personality. Stanislavsky reminded his students that every person is unique and therefore each unique trait should be exhibited. The technique is a very valuable tool because actors often find inspiration by observing others. Actors often ask themselves what is my motivation? This process entails a lot of why ... The National Firearms Act also required all NFA firearms to be registered with the Secretary of the Treasury. NFA firearms at the creation of the NFA included rifles and shotguns with a barrel length under 18 inches, machine guns, and firearm silencers. While this is taking place, Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a vile and tells her to drink it, saying that it will put her in a death like state for 48 hours. Once she is found dead she will be laid in the family tomb. Once the 48 hours are up, she will awaken and Romeo was supposed to come and take her somewhere safe where they can be together. The teaching of evolution in schools is important, because it teaches students the correct reason for how life on earth started. Creationism is the belief that all living organisms originated from a biblical process instead of evolution. We will never really know how the earth was created, but by the use of science, we can get a better understanding of it. Therefore creationism should not be taught as a science and should not be taught in school. Pierre Bourdieu coined the phrase cultural capital which is the representation of the cultural knowledge, temperament and disposition that is inherited from generation to generation. Published to the Oxford University Press, Pierre Bordieu explained his theory of cultural capital as consisting of three elements: cultural capital can exist in three forms: in the embodied state, i.e., in the form of long lasting dispositions of the mind and body; in the objectified state, in the form of cultural goods (pictures, books, dictionaries, instruments, machines, etc.), which are the trace or realization of theories or critiques of these theories, problematics, etc.; and in the institutionalized state, a form of objectification which must be set apart because, as will be seen in the case of educational qualifications, it confers entirely original properties on the cultural capital which it is presumed to guarantee (Bourdieu 1978). Another important facet of Bordieu s theory of cultural capital is a habitus which is a set of dispositions that incline agents to act and react in certain ways particularly, the result of structural conditions, but it simultaneously organizes practices and perceptions. Examples Of Rhetorical Devices In A Modest Proposal USE OF SATIRICAL STRATEGIES IN A MODEST PROPOSAL BY JONOTHAN SWIFT In his modest proposal, Jonathan Swift uses logical fallacies, repetition, metaphors, humor, parallelism, sarcasm and satire. The devices are effectively used to examine the attitude of the rich people towards the poor in the society. Jonathan starts by mocking the mothers for strolling in the streets begging for alms instead of looking for jobs and putting something on the tables for children to eat. Jonathan predicts that when the kids grow, they might turn out to be thieves as nobody taught these kids to earn an honest living. He uses logical fallacies to try and make the proposal modest though his line of thinking is not correct. He points out that a year old child is nourishing and wholesome food. That a healthy child is delicious food to be prepared using any method of food preparation is outrageous. He proposes that 20,000 children preserved for bleeding purposes. This is dehumanizing children and comparing them to animals. He outlines how slaughterhouses should be build and butchers be employed to do the slaughtering of children. In his exaggeration, he goes to the point of saying that the kids will be roasted like pigs. ( ) Swift also uses irony when he says that there are about 200,000 couples whose wives are just breeders. ( ) He proposes that an arrangement is made to the rear and provide for these children. Here he compares women to animals because human beings are not bred for commercial purposes. Here he dehumanizes human beings by use of satire. He gives reasons as to why this is a good idea. First, he says that the method will decrease the number of useless Catholics in Ireland. Secondly, he claims that the government will earn from exports of the meat from Ireland. The mothers will also earn something from this breeding and a burden will be lifted off their shoulders. He also foresees that the new delicacy will be welcomed in the taverns. The marriage institution will also be enhanced because mothers will put in more effort in raising the best kids because they would fetch good prices in the markets. The second type of tax involves intangible goods or downloads such as: emails, software, music etcetera. Obviously, this tax would involve all those that access this type of material. The administration of such a tax again poses a problem, for example, how should international emails be handled or an international user who download software from an American company web site. The final type of tax that could be levied is a sales tax. Although it would only affect those who purchase items on line, it would have potential to be an enormous source of revenue. Currently, the sales tax is the largest revenue source for federal, state and local governments. In simple terms, the Anzac legend is the commemoration of the Anzac spirit, born and developed throughout the eight months on the battlefield of Gallipoli. The horrible situations, made the Anzacs strong and resilient, they had to rely upon mateship and each other to get through. Their larrikinism also helped to keep many in as good a mood as possible. Australia was very proud of their soldiers and aspired to be like them, this meant that soon the whole country adopted the qualities of the Anzac spirit and the building of a nation began. This nation was not the newly federated country that still was much divided into the different qualities, Gallipoli fixed that two. • 38. The Importance Of Disengaged Students In Education Teachers have been struggling with disengaged students for decades. In order to make any positive strides in American education, educators need to focus on the one factor that can illuminate the reasons for disengagement, the student. For the purposes of this paper, disengaged students are the ones who do not exhibit active learning skills during a class period in school. These learners may over socialize with peers, use digital devices throughout class, cut classes, leave class frequently, sleep, or fail to submit in class and out of class assignments. In 2001, President Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act, instilling hope that the federal government could better hold K 12 schools accountable for all students to have proficient academic outcomes (Klein, 2017). President Obama made changes to the No Child Left Behind Act when 42 states needed waivers due to not reaching the proficiency expectation. In 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act was enacted. This Act provides states with more flexibility in order to help students meet proficiency. The Act also provides resources to secondary institutions that struggle to meet graduation requirements ( ESSA Overview, 2017). In an effort to align education across America, states could opt into utilizing the Common Core State Standards beginning in 2009.
