Analysis Of Frantz Fanon s Lived Experience Of A Black...
The oppression of certain groups of people is nothing new. These oppressed groups tend to be looked
at as different because of their physical features and/or cultural background. Many efforts to improve
the lives of the oppressed have been achieved, but there is still a long way to go. These oppressed
groups consist of women and different ethnic groups which have had to deal with being pushed
around by the white man throughout history. Frantz Fanon deals with his experience as a black man in
the French colony of Martinique. Simone de Beauvoir speaks about her experience as a woman in the
French mainland. Both authors assert the idea that the man, in particular the white man, sets himself as
the superior being that defines what it is to be human and views women and blacks or minorities as the
Other . In the Lived Experience of a Black man chapter, Fanon asserts his anger towards the white
man because a black person s skin color is the basis for prejudice and thus they are not the ideal
human. He is annoyed that when someone mentions a physician or a teacher and they are black, the
white society seems surprised that these black scholars are gentle or intelligent. His anger leads him
wanting to be accepted by the white man. He writes, Like all good tacticians I wanted to rationalize
the world and show the white man he was mistaken (Fanon 98). He feels the need to show the white
man that they are mistaken about believing all the negative thoughts about black people.

The Butterfly Mosque By Samuel Huntington
The idea of a clash of civilizations can be originated largely to Samuel Huntington. He describes a
future where the majority of human conflicts will be due to cultural differences . (Huntington). In The
Butterfly Mosque, Willow Wilson, an American, travels to Egypt, converts to Islam, and marries an
Egyptian man. This places her at the fault lines of two cultures. Through her experiences, she sees the
frontlines of this clash of civilizations that Huntington predicted, and tries to uncover if she can thread
the needle between her two cultures. In this paper, I will argue that through her experiences with
Muslims in Tura, other Westerners in Egypt, and in reactions to her writings, she discovers that the
clash of civilizations is real. This clash results in cruelty, fear, self hatred, and an internal existential
crisis in Willow that leaves her uncertain about whether or not she can navigate her internal clash of
cultures.
Willow s experiences in Tura with Muslims demonstrated the Muslim response to Western culture. In
Tura, she is surrounded by a much more conservative group of people than were in Cairo. She felt the
anger that people had towards the West (120). Between the West and Arabic cultures, there was a pit
full of dangers: poverty, terrorism, wars of attrition, racism, colonialism, and malice (119). This bred
distrust, and it was palpable to Willow. Between many of the inhabitants of Tura to Willow, there was
a lack of compassion or care given to her. One

The tourism industry alone employs more than 98 million people directly i.e. is representing over 3%
of all employment. This share of world employment in travel and tourism is greater than any other
industries combined, across every region of world. This industry is relatively positive. The job in
travel and tourism is forecast to an average of 9% per year over the past years. So, according to world
travel and tourism council data: Travel Tourism generated 100,894,000 jobs directly in 2013 (3.4% of
total employment) and this should grow by 2.2% in 2014 to 103,069,000 (3.4% of total employment).

Sustainability and Organic Foods Essay
Sustainability and Organic Foods
People nowadays are getting into the go green lifestyle while others continue to live without thinking
about the effects they have on the environment. Why do people go green? It can save you money, it is
the right thing to do, it is healthier because there are less toxins and less illness, it is helping future
generations, and it is a chance to connect with the local community and spread the word. To go along
with this lifestyle and its benefits, catering companies are pushing to become more environmentally
sustainable and have more local and organic food options. Although everyone is experiencing this
push, it can be easier or more difficult depending on the position each caterer is in currently. ... Show

Un served food products would be donated to local charities and fryer grease would be collected and
recycled (Shock, 2011, p. 134). I could maybe consider solar panels or reducing the use of paper by
having reusable menus for example. Becoming more sustainable and having healthier and fresher
options comes with a price. Depending on how much you want to change can affect the financial
impact, but generally more efficient equipment and organic foods are more expensive. So generally if
you are eventually upgrade the building, appliances, and food options to be eco friendly and organic
the financial impact will be large but also positive because overtime you should be making your
money back and more as well as helping the environment. Organic and local foods always come at a
higher price because they are naturally grown rather than artificially with chemicals at a faster rate.
Organic farmers work hard to grow their foods naturally at a much slower pace so they need to
increase their prices to make it worthwhile. If a catering company is buying more expensive foods, it
impacts the prices on the menu and causes them to rise so they can still make profit. These days I
believe a company can still be competitive with higher prices because many people are looking for on
premise caterers who offer these healthier options. Many people are worried about the increasing
obesity rates and staying healthy so they are willing to pay more for those options. Like stated

personal worldview and the appropriate skills to address culturally different clients (Gladding, 2013)

process of knowledge and perspective of the accepted aesthetic norms of colors, symbols, and other

The Second World War Essay
The Second World War The Second World War had three major axis powers. They were Germany,
Italy, and Japan. The Axis were the countries that had expansionist plans. Only Japan was not a fascist
regime in the Axis. Adolph Hitler, the German Nazi leader, was the one who called upon the creation
of an Axis in 1936. Italy and Japan accepted Hitler s offer. Japan recognized the leadership of
Germany and Italy in establishment of a new order in Europe. Furthermore, Germany and Italy
respected Japan s leadership in East Asia. They also agreed that they would assist each other with
political, economical and military means. The main cause of World War II goes back to World War I,
where Germany was defeated and humiliated. World War I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Advantages Of Artificial Bee Honey Algorithm
ARTIFICIAL BEE COLONY ALGORITHM
3.1 The nature of Bees
The Swarm Intelligence (SI) is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that has its basis on the
collective characteristics of animals or certain unique phenomenon of natural setups such as bees, fish,
ants and birds. In process of searching for the food sources, the bee colony can move in multiple
directions and over a distance of several kilometers.
The exercise of searching for food sources starts from sending out a group of scout bees to search for
flower patches at various bushes that contain a considerable amount of nectar and pollen. After this,
the scout bees come back to their hive and then perform a special movement as others observes. This
dance is known as the waggle dance. This is shown in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Essay About Apollo Flayed
Apollo
According to the Greek poet Hesiod, Apollo is the son of the Olympian Zeus and Titan Leto who is
the goddess of dark nights. Artemis is his twin sister, who is also an Olympian (Hesiod). He is the god
of sun, light, music, and prophecy. Besides, he is also the god for both medicine and healing. Apollo is
associated with medicine and healing through his son, Asclepius. Yet, he could bring ill health and
deadly plague (Houle 34). He is feared as he is able to bring ill health to mortals.
Apollo is often shown in playing the lyre. According to Favorite Greek Myths , Apollo has won couple
musical contests by playing his golden seven strings lyre, which is said to represent the seven planets
(Hyde 17). One time, Phyrgian satyr Marsayas challenges Apollo to a music contest. At the end, Satyr
lost the contest and is flayed alive. The lyre that Apollo plays is invented by Hermes, the messenger of
Zeus. One day, Apollo notices the beautiful musical instrument that Hermes carries and was fascinated

Creole Hybridity in Literature
Jamaican patois is not an official language, which is the same for most if not all languages are not,
although recently, there are some creole dictionaries and Haitian Creole is being taught in schools.
People tend to have a negative perception of a creole and thus, the people who speak and chose to
write in this creole language are often lumped into a box. There is a stigma attached to it, and people
often say that it is the language of the poor lower class of the country. Growing up in St. Lucia, I saw
how this is true, people are often embarrassed by their parent who spoke creole, or they as children
where forbidden to speak creole as to avoid being stereotyped. The language expresses the history of
the Caribbean and the hybridity that emerges through language. In the diaspora, people depend on
creating a space of home in the host country and language is an important part of this space. The
connection immigrants feel when they come into contact with literature that features a language of
their native homeland offers them their own space in the literary world, and a way for their stories to
be told. The writers and people who use creole are confirming their identities as a merger of multiple
influences. They use the language despite the stigma and fight to maintain the culture by doing so
language is part of one s identity. Wordy, Worldly Women Poets: Louise Bennett, Lorna Goodison and

Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet 1996 And 1996
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most commemorated and referenced plays in the history of the world.
Because it is so popular, many variations of the play exist. Since different ideas about the play have
produced a multitude of different reenactments, lots of plays out there have many differences. Three of
these versions, Two of which are movies made, one in 1968, the other in 1996, and the last is an actual
play production on Broadway in 2014, have many differences and similarities. What we can interpret
from these variations is that even though the words on the script may not change, with time, culture
can alter the appearance and mood of the production. Romeo and Juliet (1968) was filmed mostly in
Rome, Italy. The movie featured sixteen year old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these similarities come between Romeo + Juliet (1996), and Romeo and Juliet (1968). Both
of these productions are movies, and such allows the viewer to get a better visual experience of the
script by Shakespeare. Two two of these share many qualities, such as the Montagues and Capulets
being two of the wealthiest houses in Verona, and a very open conflict between each other. The two of
these also share some contrast. In the 1968 film, both houses were Caucasian, however, in the 1996
film, there is an ethnic difference between the Montagues, who are white, and the Capulets, who are
Hispanic, except for Juliet and Juliet s direct family. Another difference is that the fight between the
houses in the 1996 version was more gang related, violent, and involves the use of firearms, while the
1968 version is a chivalrous conflict, and cheap swords, not guns, are used. What s also the same
between these two is that the setting in both of these have hot climates. Rome, Italy, which is where
the 1968 version was filmed, typically has warmer temperatures year round. Los Angeles, California,

Relations Between Western And Middle Eastern Countries Essay
Relationships between Western and Middle Eastern countries have always be tainted by ugly truths
and misdeeds from both sides. The political relationship between the United States and Iran is not
exempt from that, and is one that has a history of tension. Much of this tension can be traced to the
1953 Coup d Etat in which Mohammad Mossadegh, Iran s first democratically elected prime minister,
was removed and an American support system for despotic leaders was established. This unfortunate
chapter in history has resulted in a culture of mistrust and betrayal deeply felt by the Iranian people,
and has led to reactions and overreactions from both sides, culminating in the animosity and mistrust
between the two countries that persists to this day.

During the first half of the 20th century, William Knox D Arcy, a British entrepreneur was able to
obtain a concession from the Iranian government that would allow for the searching and production of
petroleum. In return, the Iranian government was to receive a small percent of royalties. D Arcy
himself was unable to find oil and did not have the ability to continue the venture, so he assigned his
concession rights to a company that would eventually become the Anglo Persian Oil Company
(APOC, later becoming the Anglo Iranian Oil Company or AIOC). In 1908 oil was found and profits
were plentiful. The British government became a majority shareholder in the APOC after the British

Unethical Behavior Of Police
In society we call upon certain individuals to help us in times of need or urgency. Sometimes these
individuals are police officers. As a member of society, I would like to be able to call upon the police
in a time of need since we expect them to protect and serve our community. However, some situations
can expose corrupt police officers partaking in unethical behavior while protecting and serving the
community. In this paper I will discuss the unethical behavior of a group of police officers from
Baltimore, Maryland. This is an ongoing investigation that keeps producing more evidence of other
officers partaking in unethical behavior.
ISSUES WITH THE OFFICERS ACTIONS
Baltimore Police Department had a special unit known as Gun Trace Task Force. This particular unit
was very successful in helping drop the gun crime in the Baltimore area. As recently as October 2016,
the Baltimore Police Department was praising the unit in an internal newsletter for its work getting
guns off the streets (Gile, 2017). The unit made more than 110 gun arrests in less than 11 months last
year (Gile, 2017). While these officers are being recognized for their excellent work, they were
committing their own crimes on the streets.
In March 2017, these same seven police officers from the Baltimore Police Department were federally
indicted by the U.S. Attorney of Maryland on racketeering charges (Rector, 2017). Sgt. Wayne

The industry will continue to compete on all aspects such as price, quality, and functionality. This
intense competition will lead to a Red Ocean until a new innovator can emerge. The industry will most
likely continue to invest in Research Development to improve the quality of their products, to try to
innovate, to get a better product out to the market and even innovate the way they assemble and
market their product to the consumer. Also, personalization and customization of motorcycles will
increase as television programs such as American Choppers, and West Coast Choppers are glorifying
them.
All these factors will lead to an expansion of the Target market and more intense competition.
Customer Loyalty Value will most likely rise for the industry because many of the individual
producers have a wide variety of products that they can offer to their customers. The industry will
most likely target previous customers more to get them to purchase a secondary bike. This trend will

experiences some problems with memory loss and will often make lists or other aids to compensate
for this loss. The individual can begin to feel depressed or anxious because of the memory problems.
This stage often Goes unnoticed as symptoms of Alzheimer s (1).
The second stage is marked by the change from forgetfulness to severe memory loss. Long aGo events

Benjamin Franklin was a Political Hero in Sheila Kemp s...
Sheila Kemp did an outstanding job in her short history of one of America s most treasured arguably
the most looked up to political heroes. Whether the Cockpit had as astounding an effect on Franklin s
political career, and the defining moment that pushed him on the path as an advocate for independence
is up for argument. Did Kemp adequately protect her position: that Benjamin Franklin became a
revolutionary after his incident at the Cockpit? The questions seem to be answerable morally, as well
as historically. In truth, Kemp defended her position with as much armor as she could smith whilst

According to Kemp, Franklin was merely representing the wrong colony at the wrong time. And said
that, although events in Massachusetts put Franklin on the hot seat, there was an underlying reason for
Wedderburn s attacks. Some of which were inherent, for instance, the ideologies between American
Colonists and the British Elite were very much different than how Franklin imagined the Empire. He
believed that all colonists were grateful to be part of the Empire, and even went as far as to advocate
ill fated taxes to be introduced to the Colonies in an attempt to relieve some british debt. Furthermore,
to the british mind, taxes that were being legislated were perfectly within the Empire s right, and that
every time taxes became too overwhelming, British officials would back down against resistance.
Such was the case for the Stamp Act which was enacted in 1765 and repealed in 1766 after riots broke
out in the Colonies.
In the case of Franklin, exasperations also gave way to his eventual disenfranchisement of the Empire.
His own pride was destroyed at the cockpit that day, something Franklin was no stranger to and
definitely was unable to handle in a casual fashion. Thus, Kemp adamantly claims throughout her
work that Franklin saw his opposition to the Empire, as a personal and not entirely a political issue as
he once did. Kemp states, Franklin lived in a place where social status

With this increase in wealth, combined with the continual increase in population size, there should
always be a strong market for luxury goods. Technological advancements have played a major role in
the industry since the late 1990s. Jewelry in particular has a very high weight to value ratio, which
makes shipping easy and keeps shipping costs relatively low. Internet sales have passed catalogue
sales in over 10 of the top 15 luxury jewelry companies. Tiffany Co. s internet sales passed its
catalogue sales shortly after the company opened its website in 1999. The complaint that the company
operated stores closed before a majority of the workforce went home for the day, is now somewhat
outdated now that Tiffany has a very effective and functional website that can be accessed 24 hours a
day. This year, Tiffany Co. announced that over 60% of its direct sales were generated through their
website. Demographic trends play a much smaller role in the luxury jewelry business than it does in
many other industries. Tiffany Co. s various jewelry collections cater to virtually all ages, ranging
from young teens to matures, well beyond there sixties. However, the baby boomer generation, which
is made up of persons in their forties and fifties, does have a large amount of buyer power. Several

La Bamba Music Analysis
The artist that I have chosen is Richie Valens. The genre in which the artist is mostly categorized in is
Rock Roll. The reason why this artist should be represented more into this course is because not only
did he make such an impact in the music industry within two years even though he died when he was
17 due to a plane crash. Furthermore he only released two albums. With only two albums alone he
influenced many artist for example like of Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys and Carlos Santana. He is
considered the first Latino to successfully cross over into mainstream rock.(

Ethioparian Identity
The concept of a Romanian Hungarian identity does not exist. The two languages have nothing in
common. The Hungarian language is not offered in schools as a second language for Romanian
students. However, for Hungarians, the Romanian language was mandated as part of the curriculum.
Therefore, we had to learn the Romanian language as well, which was reasonable since we resided in
Romania and that it considered an official language. Consequently, we were a bilingual community.
However, older generations, grandparents had difficulties adjusting to speaking Romanian.
Additionally, as part of growing up in Romania, French and Russian languages were offered in the
high school. These were requirements rather than optional. The teachers always told

Corporate Social Responsibility Of The Enron Corporation
Introduction We will look at the Enron Corporation and discuss its application of Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) or in actuality its irresponsible behavior as related to social responsibility. We
will revisit what CSR is and discuss Enron s philosophy regarding its use and function within the
corporation. We will discuss the consequences of Enron s irresponsible behavior and the far reaching
effects it had on society. Corporate Social Responsibility are actions taken by a corporation that have
positive and lasting impact for all stakeholders associated with the organization, seeking to strike a
balance between profits and helping to establish lasting investment in the community (Carrol, 2015).
In the 1980 s, then President Reagan challenged the business community to take on more
responsibility to address social problems (Carrol, 2015). Socially responsible actions can benefit local
communities as well as the greater societal good.
Oddly enough, Enron had a CSR strategy with a very good reputation for having a strong and well
respected corporate responsibility known for generosity to the community and being environmentally
responsible. (Sims Brinkmann, 2003). In hindsight we see that they were playing CSR. Former CFO,
Jeff Skilling once told a colleague, Mike, we are a green energy company, but the green stands for
money (Bradley, 2008). The public should be very cautious when it comes to companies and their
CSR efforts as unfortunately some are just

How Did Charlotte Bronte Lose Her Father
Jane Eyre is practically a reflection of Charlotte Bronte s life from start to finish. In Charlotte Brontes
early childhood she lost her mother and two of her older sisters, thus left her to have only her aunt and
her father. This reflects into Jane Eyre by revealing that Jane also lost her mother and within the book
states that Jane was abused by her father which leads to the thought of Charlotte being abused by her
father due to the similarities in such specific places such as the education systems. In Charlottes time
in school she had very poor conditions. She went to a very poor school which is also reflected in Jane
Erye by talking about the walks to school and getting her shoes wet with no heat inside the building

The Importance Of Love In Just Kids By Patti Smith
For being different, easy. But to be unique, it s a complicated thing, said Lady Gaga. As a young child,
I have always been different but creative. My vigorous thirst of art making fostered by attending the
Langley Fine Arts School and all women s college Moore College of Art and Design. This might
sound atypical to any other story of a young artist, but I am going to explain why my story is unique.
A friend once said to me An artist sees the world in a different way. It was uncanny to hear this
because I have only known the world through my artist eyes. My story is different because my first
love was unique. Do you remember your first love? Why is your first love, so different from all the
other loves? It s because it s your first. It s that love that you can never let go because it was built on
friendship, laughter, and connection. My first love was an unrequited love, when I was eleven years
old for a gay boy. At the time I assumed nothing of it because I was just being a kid. This story is akin
to Patti Smith, author of the remarkable novel Just Kids. This honest story that tells the tale of two
friends, soul mates, roommates, lovers, and muses. Patti Smith speaks about her relationship with
Robert Mapplethorpe, a young gay photographer. This extraordinary novel reveals how Patti Smith
saw the world; how through her youthful eyes, she thought Mapplethorpe was her creative soul mate.
Nevertheless, since I was 18 years old, I have struggled with accepting and

Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne
Author Note:
This paper was prepared for PPOL V371, Section 01, Spring 2016, taught by Professor Aitalieva.
Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to give further knowledge about the Temporary Assistance for
Needy Families Program offered in the United States (TANF). With looking at the history of the
program, it allows the reader to get an improved understanding of why the need for the program was
developed, and have an understanding at which direction the program is going to be going. The
research will share the environments of the current policy, effectiveness and efficiency, and offer some
possible policy alternatives that will either benefit the program or make it more difficult to allocate the
proper funding in order to continue to help low income families in need.
Policy Description
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (TANF) was created to help and provide cash
assistance and supportive services to help assist families that have children under the age of 18,
including pregnant women. The assistance that is given to the individual or families allows the

The Between The And The Dots
Join the Dots
Tania knows she should have yanked Braydon out of that kindergarten as soon as she got wind of their
join the dot policy. She should calmly have stated her objections and walked away. Suggesting
children join the dots whatever way they want, that they ignore the numbers and follow their mood,
their instincts. That they find their own way to navigate the points, explore their own pathways
through. What the fairy fuck were these women talking about? Effie stepped in to try and calm her.
But when she said that kids have enough rules in life to worry about, Tania grabbed her by the
shoulders and tried to shake some sense into her fuzzy ginger head. I m sorry love, but that s assault,

one way or the other, on how he felt about join the dots, or any of the other crayon based activities she
brought up. And then he left. So now, Tania lies back, looking up at the high white ceiling of the cell
to find a multitude of blobs, some old, some new, some partially removed. A constellation of chewing
gum. She studies the shapes, the sizes, the colours. She does not consider all those mouths chewing,
the saliva, the teeth, the decay. She just looks for the pattern she knows must be there. She can hear
the psychiatrist mumbling with the coppers out in the corridor. She ignores them and waits for the
pattern to become clear. Then she smiles and silently, in her head, starts to number the dots.

The Song Of Myself By Walt Whitman And Howl
Both Song of Myself by Walt Whitman and Howl by Allen Ginsberg are important pieces of American
poetry. Song of Myself was written in the 1850 s and Howl was written about a century later. Both
poets were part of groups that wanted to change America the Transcendentalists and the Beats.
Transcendentalists believed in the goodness of people and nature. They believe that people are at their
best when they are truly independent. The Beats rejected standard values and materialism. They
experimented with drugs and sexuality. Both movements tended to portray the wilderness as heavenly,
while thinking that human nightlife was too showy. Both of these groups were fully American literary
movements. Both poets mention nature in the poems. Both poets write about their reactions to the
politics of their time. The poems were rebellions against the commonalities of their cultures. Whitman
and Ginsberg both believed in democracy. They both protested against industrialization and tradition.
Both poets wrote in dangerous times. They wanted to take a stand against what they thought was
wrong with the world. They both wanted to take on the burden of being true to what America is really
supposed to be. Both poets were gay. Also, both poets were very young at the time that they wrote
these poems. Ginsberg was greatly influenced by Whitman when writing Howl . While writing, he
was even reading some of Whitman s poems. He wanted his world to be like how Whitman saw his

Contributions Of Julius Caesars
First triumvirate In 59 BC, two of the wealthiest men in Rome agreed to invest in Julius Caesar.
Crassus and Pompey, who despised each other, liked imperium and success more. After having
cleansed the Mediterranean from pirates and Mithridates in a sixth of the expected time allotted to him
by the Senate, Pompey returned with ships and soldiers. He demanded the senate ratify the acts of
settlements he had already determined for his soldiers, but was denied again and again. Crassus
wanted relief for the bid the publicani made, tax collectors who failed to gather the money they
promised the Senate they would from foreign provinces. Caesar promised to provide both in exchange
for patronage to the consulship, as well as gaining his own chosen provincial command to accomodate
his own debts. After forfeiting his triumph, Caesar becomes consul and provides his own land bill that
accommodates veterans in Campania, fulfilling his deal to Pompey. Caesar knew that the veterans and
land owners who were profiting from his bill were also voters. Although Pompey and Crassus were
profiting immediately from their dealings in the first triumvirate, Caesar was clearly investing for long
term benefits. The pontifix maximus In 63 BC, Caesar managed to be a young man in a very old and
prestigious post, the pontifix maximus. As religious leader of the state religion, Caesar was able to
influence a majority of events in Roman everyday life, such as elections, which depended on lunar

converting to protestantism. Both argued that the Catholic Church stirred away from its original
mission to help reach heaven and help the poor. Both reformers wanted to return the people onto the
right path in their spiritual life. Politically, Luther and Calvin believed that the Pope must not own
such power and have so much lavish, instead spend the money for the better of the society, they also
believed that each state must choose their own religion. Socially, they both believed that the laypeople
should be educated and have access to the bible for own interpretation and that all people are equal in

Consequences of Losing The Sense of Touch
Consequences of Losing The Sense of Touch
Touch is the first sense we experience in the womb and may also be the last we experience before
death. To understand the consequences of losing the sense of touch we must first understand its
benefits. Touch is an important element of how we understand and relate to our world. Touch can
convey personal feeling towards one another or it can convey danger such as heat or sharp surfaces.
The inability to feel sensations on the ski impacts many different situations and can potentially have
dangerous repercussions. Our ability to survive is not generally dependent on our sense of smell or our
sense of taste. However, if one does not possess the sense of touch, it can directly imperil our very
existence.
The consequences for a loss of the ability to process pain would be numerous and catastrophic. Pain is
your body s way of telling you something is wrong. Pain s job is to draw your attention to sensations
such as a burn or a bone break so that you can address the cause of the issue. For instance, if you
sprained your ankle, without pain receptors your body would have no way of alarming you of the
danger. This situation could require you to tear something resulting in a major injury instead of a
minor sprain which would take a couple weeks to heal. People born without pain receptors are much
more prone to serious accidents resulting in injury or death. Without pain you may not receive an early
warning of infections that could

Interest Groups In Elections
Interest groups have a lot of influence over decision that the government makes and has made. These
groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are trying to push
that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other levels of government
to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the congressional level as well as for
President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the form of PAC s and Super PAC s to
back candidates. Super PAC s can spend an unrestricted amount money to support a certain problems
or candidate but cannot donate directly to the campaigns. PAC s work with campaigns directly
reallocating donations to candidates and parties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One is putting money towards the campaigns of Congressmen and women that either support their
shared ideals. This is not the buying of votes though as it is seen to the public eye that would be a
waste of funds to go about trying to pass policy that way. Hall and Waymen argue that interest groups
and PAC money that is used to back certain candidate in election is not to buy votes but to mobilize
the legislative process. Simply put, interest group resources are intended to accomplish something
different from, and more than, influencing elections or buying votes...we argue that PAC money
should be allocated in order to mobilize legislative support and demobilization opposition, particularly
at the most important point in the legislative process. That is only one way that they influence
congress. Public support is another. If an interest group can gather enough public support behind their
issues they can effect change in government policy. For example the NAACP in its fight for civil
rights. Interest groups work with the government to push policy. Without the government some
interest groups would exist because of the government grants that they receive. Other groups can be
led by an organization, single person or by

According to this framework ethical/unethical decisions are controlled/moderated by three
independent variables, which are individual factors, significant others in an organizational setting, and
opportunity for action. According to Ferrell amp; Gresham the three variables can be further
categorized into individual and organizational contingencies. Individual factors like attitudes,
knowledge, values, and intentions are assumed to be interacting with organizational factors, such as
significant others and opportunity factors to influence an individual involved in an ethical/unethical
dilemma. In the following paragraphs we will analyze how these individual as well as organizational
factors interplayed in Courtland Kelley s situation at GM. Based on the individual factor construct of
the framework it is assumed that knowingly or unknowingly an individual may use a set of
philosophical assumption as a basis for making ethical decisions. The philosophical assumptions about
ethics are divided into two basic types teleological and deontological (Beauchamp and Bowie 1979).

There are thousands of slang terms usage out there that dated way back in the day. Slang terms tend to

what Booyah mean. For a newer one I used Photobomb and I was not as surprise to see the forty five
person knew what it mean. Since photobomb gotten popular couple of years ago, it would make this
person early forties maybe even late thirties so it would make a lot of sense for this person to know the

lot more than the younger one. I believe that no matter if the slang is consider old and out of date it all

Corn Laws Chartism
Tension started when the Corn Laws were enforced in 1815, this imposed restrictions and tariffs on
imported grain, corn, flour, and meal. The Corn Laws were designed by conservatives to keep grain
prices high to favor domestic producers thus, food prices rose and riots throughout the city of London
began to break out. The Corn Laws enhanced the profits and political power associated with
landownership. The government directly regulated the import and export of grain, making it more
expensive to produce and trade grains grown by local farmers. In 1839, the Anti Corn Law League
was established to fight against England s Corn Laws. The league mobilized the industrial middle
classes against the landlords. During the grain shortage caused by Britain growing population and the
blockades imposed by the Napoleonic Wars, the Corn Laws were repealed in 1846. The Reform Act of

Abortion and Disability
With reference to abortion, examine and comment upon the issues that emerge from keeping up with
developments in medical ethics, whilst maintaining religious principles and/or ethical values. (Total
for Question 1 = 50 marks)
There are several issues that arise when it comes to the development in medical ethics whilst also
maintaining religious principles and ethical values. The development of medical knowledge has
allowed for humans to practice different ways in helping society. But these new discoveries have
found to clash with religious principles and ethical values. This can be related to the topic of abortion
as it goes against monotheistic religious teachings.
In the 21st Century it is allowed for a mother to abort a healthy ... Show more content on

Living in a world set up and built for able bodied people, it s difficult for a disabled person to be
brought up and adapt to carry out even the most simplest of everyday tasks. Aborting a disabled foetus
may not intentionally be biologically discriminating, but instead, weighing up the consequences of
continuing with the pregnancy until the stage of giving birth, taking into account what life will be like
for the foetus in the future.
To conclude, I believe that abortion should only be considered concerning the best interest of the
foetus because that is what is seen to be ethically right (by ending the possibility of suffering and low
quality of life that the foetus may have to endure if it was to be born). Situation Ethics, devised by
Joseph Fletcher could be a religious stance as to why the allowance of abortion for disabled foetuses
may be in accordance to religious principles also. For example, dependent on the severity of a
disability of a foetus, it might be reasonable to suggest aborting a foetus because it would be the most
loving thing to do. Agape love, the kind of love Jesus had for everyone in which this theory teaches us
to practice.

Constraint In Macbeth
In Shakespeare s Macbeth, both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth believe that manhood requires self
constraint, however the two differ their application of that constraint. While Macbeth restrains his
desires, Lady Macbeth restrains her sympathy. When Duncan arrives at Inverness, Macbeth says to his
wife: we will proceed no further in this business. [Duncan] hath honored me as of late, and I have
bought golden opinions from all sorts of people, which would be worn now in their newest gloss, not
cast aside so soon (1.7.34 38). Macbeth wants to kill Duncan and become the king. However, he halts
his business , the assassination of Duncan, because he feels indebted towards Duncan and Duncan s
subjects for showering him with honor and golden opinions . Macbeth would feel guilty to just cast

She tells Macbeth to follow his desires, saying when you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be
more than what you were, you would be so much more a man (1.7.56 58). She praises Macbeth for
plotting to kill Duncan, and says he would be even more manly if we carried out the murder. She does
not feel guilty like Macbeth does because believes men must show emotional constraint if they are to
achieve their goals. Furthermore, when preparing to help kill Duncan, Lady Macbeth tells spirits to
unsex me here, and fill me from crown to toe top full of direst cruelty and to make thick my blood.
Stop up th access and passage to remorse (1.5.48 51). She wants to be un sexed , thus becoming more
like a male, so that she can restrain her sympathy. By becoming manly, she plans to replace her
remorse with direst cruelty . Indeed, she believes men have thicker blood, which, similar to having
thick skin, means that being a man entails callous regard towards others. For Lady Macbeth, to be a
man is to stop up th access and passage to remorse , thus abandoning sympathy for

  • 2. Analysis Of Frantz Fanon s Lived Experience Of A Black... The oppression of certain groups of people is nothing new. These oppressed groups tend to be looked at as different because of their physical features and/or cultural background. Many efforts to improve the lives of the oppressed have been achieved, but there is still a long way to go. These oppressed groups consist of women and different ethnic groups which have had to deal with being pushed around by the white man throughout history. Frantz Fanon deals with his experience as a black man in the French colony of Martinique. Simone de Beauvoir speaks about her experience as a woman in the French mainland. Both authors assert the idea that the man, in particular the white man, sets himself as the superior being that defines what it is to be human and views women and blacks or minorities as the Other . In the Lived Experience of a Black man chapter, Fanon asserts his anger towards the white man because a black person s skin color is the basis for prejudice and thus they are not the ideal human. He is annoyed that when someone mentions a physician or a teacher and they are black, the white society seems surprised that these black scholars are gentle or intelligent. His anger leads him wanting to be accepted by the white man. He writes, Like all good tacticians I wanted to rationalize the world and show the white man he was mistaken (Fanon 98). He feels the need to show the white man that they are mistaken about believing all the negative thoughts about black people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Butterfly Mosque By Samuel Huntington The idea of a clash of civilizations can be originated largely to Samuel Huntington. He describes a future where the majority of human conflicts will be due to cultural differences . (Huntington). In The Butterfly Mosque, Willow Wilson, an American, travels to Egypt, converts to Islam, and marries an Egyptian man. This places her at the fault lines of two cultures. Through her experiences, she sees the frontlines of this clash of civilizations that Huntington predicted, and tries to uncover if she can thread the needle between her two cultures. In this paper, I will argue that through her experiences with Muslims in Tura, other Westerners in Egypt, and in reactions to her writings, she discovers that the clash of civilizations is real. This clash results in cruelty, fear, self hatred, and an internal existential crisis in Willow that leaves her uncertain about whether or not she can navigate her internal clash of cultures. Willow s experiences in Tura with Muslims demonstrated the Muslim response to Western culture. In Tura, she is surrounded by a much more conservative group of people than were in Cairo. She felt the anger that people had towards the West (120). Between the West and Arabic cultures, there was a pit full of dangers: poverty, terrorism, wars of attrition, racism, colonialism, and malice (119). This bred distrust, and it was palpable to Willow. Between many of the inhabitants of Tura to Willow, there was a lack of compassion or care given to her. One ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why do people go green? It can save you money, it is the right thing to do, it is healthier because there are less toxins and less illness, it is helping future generations, and it is a chance to connect with the local community and spread the word. To go along with this lifestyle and its benefits, catering companies are pushing to become more environmentally sustainable and have more local and organic food options. Un served food products would be donated to local charities and fryer grease would be collected and recycled (Shock, 2011, p. 134). I could maybe consider solar panels or reducing the use of paper by having reusable menus for example. Becoming more sustainable and having healthier and fresher options comes with a price. Depending on how much you want to change can affect the financial impact, but generally more efficient equipment and organic foods are more expensive. So generally if you are eventually upgrade the building, appliances, and food options to be eco friendly and organic the financial impact will be large but also positive because overtime you should be making your money back and more as well as helping the environment. Organic and local foods always come at a higher price because they are naturally grown rather than artificially with chemicals at a faster rate. Organic farmers work hard to grow their foods naturally at a much slower pace so they need to increase their prices to make it worthwhile. If a catering company is buying more expensive foods, it impacts the prices on the menu and causes them to rise so they can still make profit. These days I believe a company can still be competitive with higher prices because many people are looking for on premise caterers who offer these healthier options. Many people are worried about the increasing obesity rates and staying healthy so they are willing to pay more for those options. Like stated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Japan recognized the leadership of Germany and Italy in establishment of a new order in Europe. Furthermore, Germany and Italy respected Japan s leadership in East Asia. Artemis is his twin sister, who is also an Olympian (Hesiod). He is the god of sun, light, music, and prophecy. Besides, he is also the god for both medicine and healing. One time, Phyrgian satyr Marsayas challenges Apollo to a music contest. At the end, Satyr lost the contest and is flayed alive. Creole Hybridity in Literature Jamaican patois is not an official language, which is the same for most if not all languages are not, although recently, there are some creole dictionaries and Haitian Creole is being taught in schools. People tend to have a negative perception of a creole and thus, the people who speak and chose to write in this creole language are often lumped into a box. There is a stigma attached to it, and people often say that it is the language of the poor lower class of the country. Growing up in St. Lucia, I saw how this is true, people are often embarrassed by their parent who spoke creole, or they as children where forbidden to speak creole as to avoid being stereotyped. The language expresses the history of the Caribbean and the hybridity that emerges through language. In the diaspora, people depend on creating a space of home in the host country and language is an important part of this space. The connection immigrants feel when they come into contact with literature that features a language of their native homeland offers them their own space in the literary world, and a way for their stories to be told. The writers and people who use creole are confirming their identities as a merger of multiple influences. Both of these productions are movies, and such allows the viewer to get a better visual experience of the script by Shakespeare. The two of these also share some contrast. In the 1968 film, both houses were Caucasian, however, in the 1996 film, there is an ethnic difference between the Montagues, who are white, and the Capulets, who are Hispanic, except for Juliet and Juliet s direct family. Another difference is that the fight between the houses in the 1996 version was more gang related, violent, and involves the use of firearms, while the 1968 version is a chivalrous conflict, and cheap swords, not guns, are used. The political relationship between the United States and Iran is not exempt from that, and is one that has a history of tension. Much of this tension can be traced to the 1953 Coup d Etat in which Mohammad Mossadegh, Iran s first democratically elected prime minister, was removed and an American support system for despotic leaders was established. This unfortunate chapter in history has resulted in a culture of mistrust and betrayal deeply felt by the Iranian people, and has led to reactions and overreactions from both sides, culminating in the animosity and mistrust between the two countries that persists to this day. The unit made more than 110 gun arrests in less than 11 months last year (Gile, 2017). While these officers are being recognized for their excellent work, they were committing their own crimes on the streets. And said that, although events in Massachusetts put Franklin on the hot seat, there was an underlying reason for Wedderburn s attacks. Some of which were inherent, for instance, the ideologies between American Colonists and the British Elite were very much different than how Franklin imagined the Empire. He believed that all colonists were grateful to be part of the Empire, and even went as far as to advocate ill fated taxes to be introduced to the Colonies in an attempt to relieve some british debt. Furthermore, to the british mind, taxes that were being legislated were perfectly within the Empire s right, and that every time taxes became too overwhelming, British officials would back down against resistance. Such was the case for the Stamp Act which was enacted in 1765 and repealed in 1766 after riots broke out in the Colonies. In the case of Franklin, exasperations also gave way to his eventual disenfranchisement of the Empire. His own pride was destroyed at the cockpit that day, something Franklin was no stranger to and definitely was unable to handle in a casual fashion. • 34. Consequences of Losing The Sense of Touch Consequences of Losing The Sense of Touch Touch is the first sense we experience in the womb and may also be the last we experience before death. To understand the consequences of losing the sense of touch we must first understand its benefits. Touch is an important element of how we understand and relate to our world. Touch can convey personal feeling towards one another or it can convey danger such as heat or sharp surfaces. The inability to feel sensations on the ski impacts many different situations and can potentially have dangerous repercussions. Our ability to survive is not generally dependent on our sense of smell or our sense of taste. However, if one does not possess the sense of touch, it can directly imperil our very existence. The consequences for a loss of the ability to process pain would be numerous and catastrophic. Pain is your body s way of telling you something is wrong. Pain s job is to draw your attention to sensations such as a burn or a bone break so that you can address the cause of the issue. For instance, if you sprained your ankle, without pain receptors your body would have no way of alarming you of the danger. This situation could require you to tear something resulting in a major injury instead of a minor sprain which would take a couple weeks to heal. People born without pain receptors are much more prone to serious accidents resulting in injury or death. Without pain you may not receive an early warning of infections that could ... These groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are trying to push that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other levels of government to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the congressional level as well as for President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the form of PAC s and Super PAC s to back candidates. One is putting money towards the campaigns of Congressmen and women that either support their shared ideals. This is not the buying of votes though as it is seen to the public eye that would be a waste of funds to go about trying to pass policy that way. Hall and Waymen argue that interest groups and PAC money that is used to back certain candidate in election is not to buy votes but to mobilize the legislative process. Simply put, interest group resources are intended to accomplish something different from, and more than, influencing elections or buying votes...we argue that PAC money should be allocated in order to mobilize legislative support and demobilization opposition, particularly at the most important point in the legislative process. That is only one way that they influence congress. Public support is another. If an interest group can gather enough public support behind their issues they can effect change in government policy. While society imposes strong sanctions against even minor indiscretions on the part of women, it shows considerable leniency towards such aberrations in men.
