Steven Spielberg s Jurassic Park
How exciting would it be to travel back in time and live with the dinosaurs? That is exactly the
setting Steven Spielberg wanted to create in the movie version of the Michael Crichton novel,
Jurassic Park. Science fiction adventure films, such as Jurassic Park, are exciting for all age
groups. The audience is in awe of the characters, in this case realistic looking and acting
dinosaurs. After a shocking death takes place due to an animal attack in Isla Nublar, an island 120
miles from Cuba, scientific experts are needed to investigate further. Dr. Alan Grant and assistant
Ellie Sattler, also assisted by Dr. Ian Malcolm and Donald Gennaro, are invited by the peculiar
billionaire, John Hammond, to join him in his new unique biological attractions ... Show more

The country of Costa Rica is a perfect setting with all of the diversity of species and seclusion
from other parts of the world to do experimental research with dinosaurs in secret. Isla Nublar,
the specific location leased by Hammond as a biological preserve to do research, adds to the
seclusion, as it is difficult to get to the island one hundred miles off the coast of Costa Rica and
difficult to leave. Ian Malcolm, the mathematician invited to visit the park to access risk, takes
one look around the island and says the problem with Isla Nublar is that it is an accident waiting
to happen, effectively foreshadowing the events to occur shortly after the group s arrival on the
island. Once the group drives the safari jeeps Hammond has provided through the gates of the
theme park, it is as if they are in another world. The gates are described as enormous, primitive
gates, torches blazing on either side. Again Malcolm foreshadows future events by looking up at
the immense gates and asking if King Kong is inside. The seclusion of the island and
confinement of the park builds the anticipation that an accident is imminent. This suspense is
important because when the dinosaurs run free, the experts and the children feel cut off from
the outside world and must find ways to save themselves. The time at which the park was built,
the 1990s, was not long after supercomputers became prevalent. The climate on the island also
added to the mysterious, clandestine atmosphere. For example, every time a tyrannosaurus rex
came to attack the group, it was raining. When the t Rex flipped the jeep over, it was so foggy it
was difficult to see. Appropriately, the secluded location of the theme park, Isla Nublar, means
clouded island as most of it is encased in a dense fog. It was also exciting to see the dangerous

Being A Nanny Research Paper
I have been a nanny for the last 8 years. I have worked with newborns, toddlers, boys, girls, and a
teenager with autism. I created meals whenever they were needed. I supplied a healthy and
happy environment. I drove them places to stimulate their mind and have fun while learning. I
was actually a communications aid which was a privilege to be part of their family in seeing
how children with severe autism learn more with the senses because they do not have the
abilities and motor skills that people are born with. Three of my favorite things about being a
nanny are creating activities for them to do when they are bored. I love making the schedule for
the day and being the one that sets the pace for organizing. I absolutely love experiencing new
things with them to see how they respond to it. Lastly I love being able to watch them grow and
see how I have added a different perspective in their lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Analysis Of The Media
Recently upon searching for a new news source, I stumbled upon your website. Upon looking
through the articles, I noticed a large number of these we re simply tweets about the president
doing less than notable things. Many of these articles talked about tweets including the entire
front page of the website, describing in depth a recent tweet that Trump had sent out. While I
was looking for a media source to get non biased opinion on recent events such as the civil rights
groups in Myanmar, I instead found plenty of articles on how Trump seems to be unpresidential.
As a major media source, I see it on unfit that all of the focus of today s news is focused on the
actions of the president on a minute by minute basis. To compare this to... Show more content on

that you re using your website as a simple platform to try and gather support for your cause
against our current president. Understandably, I see that your political views do not fall in line
with the president; however, I feel like the use of your media source is a major reason for the
disunity of our country at the moment. When faced with the current situation that are countries

only did you place Democrats, elections, and equality in the top tabs of this, you placed National

only thing that was positive seem to be the description of the presidential campaign. continuing
on the tab it was mostly right wing politicians pushing for leftist ideals. I began to look at the
Democrats tab where I found tons of articles that gave support to nearly all things that the
Democratic party was pushing. For a news source that seems to be unbiased through their
criticism of Fox News, it simply seemed that MSNBC is the same. As the head editor of this news

Essay about Purpose of Ruth
The Book of Ruth, although one of the smallest books in the Old Testament, has many values
displayed in its mere four chapters. Throughout the book, readers are shown the struggle of Ruth
and her mother in law, Naomi, as they try to survive in a patriarchal world. In chapter one Ruth
and Naomi s initial endeavor is revealed. Both Naomi and Ruth s husbands die and they are left
abandoned, but together, after Ruth refuses to leave Naomi. By chapter two Naomi and Ruth have
made it to Bethlehem and Ruth encounters Boaz for the first time while gleaning in his fields.
Chapter three is when Ruth and Boaz start to form a romantic relationship; after Naomi tells Ruth
to go to the threshing floor and lay at Boaz feet. Ruth obeys and when Boaz is... Show more content

Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with my, be it ever so
severely, if anything but death separates you and me. ( Life Application Study Bible382)
Ruth shows her true faith and loyalty for God, which any and every modern Christian should strive
to mirror. However Rush s loyalty is also shown for Naomi in verses sixteen through eighteen.
Naomi pleads with Ruth to go back to her family. Ruth, despite the fact that she is defying
Naomi, refuses to return home. Ruth unlike other biblical characters does not let her loyalty
stop at merely following orders given to her. Instead Mira Morgenstern author of Ruth and the
Sense of Self: Midrash and Difference comments that Ruth affirms that she will always do what
is [ethically and religiously] demanded of her, but will utilize methodologies consonant with her
own judgment (16). Ruth remains loyal to Naomi despite Naomi s objections because Ruth is
certainly doing what she thought was best for Naomi. By staying with Naomi, Ruth makes
unexpected personal sacrifices. Ruth does not only remain loyal to God, but she also remains
loyal to her kin even if the price seems too steep, because she knows her God will always
provide. Twenty first century Christians could learn many lessons from Ruth s unwavering
relinquishment for her people and her God. Ruth does not only offer loyalty but also provides
Naomi with a source of stability. It can be said that Ruth takes on a man s

Taking a Look at Francis AlГїs
Francis AlГїs Francis AlГїs has startled and dumbfounded our contemporary art world time and
again. As a Belgian architect turned artist, now residing in Mexico city, AlГїs is able to offer a
multi cultural approach to the problems and fallacies of today. Although AlГїs is clearly interested
in themes of informal manual labor and homelessness in Mexico, failed promises to assist in the
modernizing of Latin America, and society constructed limits in immigration and movement, his
work tends to lend itself more towards poetic attitudes and moods of ephemera, instead of
adopting a loud and violent feel. His projects rotate around ideas of magical absurdity, which
leaves them open to interpretation and moves political and economic crises into landscapes of
lyric, where they can be re examined. The most significant question he poses is whether such
poetic acts, while underlining the senselessness of particular real situations, can also create a space
for new ways of thinking (1). The way that AlГїs works reflects the fluidity of his ideas, he begins
with a concept. He has spoken about being influenced by everything from fairy tales and children s
book to Belgian Surrealism and early Italian Renaissance painting, and AlГїs has even begun
projects based entirely on an anecdote he has happened upon. Then come the projects themselves,
which are mostly actions and events. Some of these actions require months of developing and
financing, and others are modest and abrupt. Francis will

Tomorrow Passage In Macbeth
Tomorrow
(Discussing three themes in the Tomorrow passage In William Shakespeare Macbeth)
The first theme the Tomorrow passage speaks to is the flight theme of the play Macbeth. Earlier
in the play we saw many people leave after Macbeth had killed those people in fear of their own
life. We see a lot of people that flee instead of fighting because they knew Macbethhad all the
power and they wouldn t be able to overthrow him. Bring me no more reports; let them fly all!
(Macbeth Act 5 Scene 3 Line 1). He is saying that he doesn t want to know anything anymore,
because his prophecies told him that he has nothing to fear. He doesn t think any of the prophecies
will come true. We interpret this as hawks and sparrows, when the hawk, which is Macbeth sees a
sparrow, which is anyone that he feels threatened by, the hawk will killthe sparrow. ... Show more

ABSTRACT: Spirometers are used to measure lung capacity and response of lungs and chest
during physical therapy. Current spirometers available in the market are expensive and usually
cost over $1,000. Due to this high cost, many physicians practicing in developing countries like
India, cannot afford spirometry equipment. As a result, millions of people with chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, are unable to be effectively monitored or treated for
their disease. Thus, the development of a low cost reliable spirometer would allow these
physicians to assess their patient s pulmonary health. All these factors led to the development of
a product which addresses cost issues as well as technical accuracy[1] . A computer based
miniaturized spirometer system is Designed to be realized which would use a solid state
pressure sensor. A proto type of a Computer based Spirometer system has been realized which
would employ a solid state single port pressure sensor. A dedicated analog signal acquisition and
processing channel has been designed and tested along with the solid state pressure sensor.

Total cost structure suggests that the costs they will incur during the business would be 8,196,000
per annum and the revenue generated for the project would be 12,100,000 per annum.
The total profit before tax for this business would be 2,809,000 per annum and return on capital
before tax would be 112% for running on full capacity which at the same time is to be acquired
after 3 years as suggested in the report.
Other Facts As mentioned in the case the cold storage will operate at its full capacity from the
start as there is more demand in the market to supply. Secondly, there is an opportunity available
for cold store to increase its profitability through trading. So there is an expansion opportunity for
cold storage. Managerial problems would be at low level for cold storage; these problems might
emerge after expansion in trading. There is also the opportunity of expansion with the chain of
cold storage. On the other hand for knitwear all the numbers mentioned in the report are acquired
when the facility is operating at its full capacity which is after 3 years. The profitability would be
affected by the variation in the prices which consisted of major part of cost of production. There is
an intense competition in this industry which will affect the sales prices as well and eventually
profitability. Huge promotional efforts are required in this industry to overcome competition which
would incur

Stereotypes And Stereotypes Of The Irish Essay
Have you ever heard someone say that the Irish are all drunks, or African Americans are always
late, or women are bad drivers? These are types of stereotypes: commonly held ideas about
specific groups of people. Have you ever wondered why we stereotype others this way? What
makes up these stereotypes? And where does it come from? All these questions formulate into one
main idea and that is a prejudice opinions, which I have wondered for a long time. These opinions
greatly affect the image of others such as African Americanpeople. As you could see in our history
class that they were slaves. Because of that we considered them as the lowest class in our
society. As you could see the story by BRENT STAPLES, Black man in public space which the
author was stereotype as a scary black man. Nowadays we see that people were stereotype
African American in a negative way, as lowest and scariest class. According to Brent Staple,
most Black man are usually considered as muggers, and are treated differently compare to those
who are white. The author said that in one instance he didn t do anything, he was just walking on
the street at night and had his hands in his pockets, and that scared the white woman who was
walking along the same street. It s obvious to say she categorized the black man as a dangerous
person. Because she considered him as a scary and finicky person. That explain why she decided to
run away from him. This story showed me how

Impact On The British Invasion
The British Invasion took place during the mid 1960 s. British musicians began to look toward
their American counterparts for inspiration, copying their styles and advertising to fans in the
United States. By this point, British youth had been interested in American rock and roll since the
1950 s, captivated by its pronounced beats and suggestive lyrics (Robbins). However, Britain did
not have the same musical background as the United States. In the States, rock and rollemerged
from a coalescence of Country and Western, Rhythm and Blues, and Pop music (Stuessy).
Because of this, rock from the United States had deep roots, while rock from Britain before the
mid 1960 s lacked depth and was simply an imitation. Eventually, rock began to take off in Britain
from two main locations: Liverpool and London. This music became insanely popular in both
Britain and the United States (Robbins). When studying the British Invasion, it is important to
analyze the musical differences between Liverpool and London, as well as look at why this music
became so popular in the United States.
Due to Britain s obsession with rock and roll, skiffle became popular once again. Skiffle is a type
of music originating from jug bands and requires minimal instruments. Many skiffle bands used a
guitar, banjo, and rudimentary instruments such as a kazoo (Williams). The ever popular Beatles
got their start as a skiffle band titled The Quarrymen in the town of Liverpool, England. The
Quarrymen was formed in

Yuan Shikai agreed to the Republic and forced the last emperor of China, Henry Puyi, to abdicate on
February 12.
V. Narration
After being selected as the Last Emperor of China by the ill Empress Dowager Tzu Hsi, Henry
Pu yi at his childhood lived a lavish life not knowing of what obligations will face him in growing
up. At the age of 6 in the year of 1912, China converts to republic and the Ching Dynasty was
forced to abdicate.
As Pu Yi grows up he was free to do whatever he wants, living the life of an emperor but was
locked up in the Forbidden City deprived of the modern customs. Guided by the British Tutor,
Reginald Johnston, Pu Yi became so captivated to foreigners and believed of them as the wisest
and most civilized. Thus made him interested in Western things, and came up with his English
name Henry . He was married at 18 with two wives, Wen Hsiu and Wan Jung.
On November 5, 1924 officials entered the palace with a revision of the Articles of Favorable
Treatment that stated, the Emperor s position shall be abolished making Pu yi an ordinary citizen.
He was required to abandon the Forbidden City and sought asylum from the Japanese Embassy and
soon was sent to Tientsin.
It was in Tientsin that Pu Yi decided to go abroad but ended up staying there for seven years, in
which he wavered back and forth between different factions among his advisers.
In 1931, Japan occupied Machuria and Pu Yi was asked to be the Chief Executive and soon

The Epidemic Of Influenza Vaccine
Each year, there is an estimated 36,000 deaths associated with influenza, about 1,250 from the
United States. Influenza (also known as the flu) is a highly contagious respiratory illness that
attacks the upper respiratory tract. In some cases, it can cause a mild to severe illness, but in other
in others it can lead to death. Many try to eliminate getting the flu at all by getting an influenza
vaccine. The influenza vaccinehas produced controversy all over the United States, as some say
it is highly dangerous, while most medical professionals strongly advise it. Although it may be
the greatest chance of not catching influenza, it can come with serious complications and side
effects that can damage or even kill a person. The current debate on the topic questions whether
the vaccine is safe, if it s necessary, and if it actually works. Influenza usually spreads around the
United States every winter, usually between October and May. It is characterized by a sudden
onset of a high fever, headache, cough, sore throat, muscle or body aches, runny or stuffy nose,
and fatigue. Most people recover within one to two weeks without requiring any medical treatment.
Unlike a cold, the flu comes on more suddenly and usually lasts longer. Most people can get sick
with influenza several times during their lives. Flu viruses are always changing and mutating. After
about two weeks, the flu vaccine itself causes antibodies to develop in the body. Those antibodies
provide protection against

Manifesto Of The Communist Party
The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a
pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and
objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in
relation to the political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio
economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially
presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the
means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole.
Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will
determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is
inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The
Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a
common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains
that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the
proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism.
The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism
is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form

keeping them alive. ALS can lead to total paralysis.
Although there is no cure, medications such as siazepam can assist with controlling spasms and

important for patients with ALS to maintain flexibility in joints and to prevent contractures, or
fixations of muscles. Diagnosis of ALS is difficult, since there is no clinical or laboratory test to
identify it. Diagnosis is done through careful examination of a patient s history, neurological
testing, and electromyograms.
Researchers have been studying whether a defective metabolism of glutamate, an amino acid, is
detrimental to the nerve cells in the muscles of
ALS patients. Scientists are trying to determine whether they can prevent the toxic effects of
glutamate. Other scientists are studying Threostat, which may increase the amino acid called
glycine, which might neutralize glutamate found in ALS patients.
ALS and Muscular Dystrophy are commonly confused due to their similar

Same Sex Marriage And Parenting
Same Sex Marriage and Parenting
Gay and lesbian couples wish to get married for many of the equivalent reasons that heterosexual
couples wish to for love, constant companionship, and to create a nuclear family environment. A
survey of same sex marriage and same sex parenting reveals several challenges facing gay and
lesbian couples, most noticeable being the stereotyping their lifestyles, parenting, and gay beliefs.
In the United States, marriage egalitarianism has started to structure itself. The first acknowledged
legal battles started in 1969 after the Metropolitan Community Church implemented the country s
inaugural gay espousal ceremony. Meanwhile, the same year in Minnesota Jack Baker and Michael
McConnell became virtually unnoticed as the first gay couple to request a marriage license in the
United States (Revel Riot). President Bill Clinton validated the Defense of Marriage Act into law
in 1996 to prevent the federal government from acknowledging same sex marriages and decree that
no state should acknowledge any other state marriage license if it belongs to a same sex couple.
The authors state, On May 17, 2004, nonetheless, in Massachusetts became the inaugural state to
proclaim same sex marriage, as legitimate and enforceable (Roberts and Starks). California, with

role within the contemporary gay marriage dissension (Roberts and Starks). In 2008, with rulings

How Did Roman Architecture Influence Greek Architecture
The Romans continued the legacy left by the early greek architects. They favored the Greek column
called the corinthia. Roman architecture is a combination of their own ideas and Greek
architecture. Greece was their main influence. The Romans had architecture based on greek
architecture, used it in their bath houses, and used different materials for different buildings
Temples in Rome were a combination of Etruscan and Greek models of inner cella (chambers) at
the back of the building which was on a raised platform surrounded by columns with steps leading
to it. The inner chella was the focal point of the temple. The columns used were corinthian columns.

Roman baths display the typical Roman ability for creating breath taking interior space using
arches, domes, vaults, and buttresses (Cartwright). It was there not only so people could bathe,
but for socializing. Roman bath houses were also provided for private villas, town houses, and
forts. The water that supplied the bath houses came from either a stream or an aqueduct. Before
reaching the bathing rooms, the water was heated by a log fire. It was split into two sections: a
part for men and a part for women. The women typically got the smaller set of rooms. In the bath
houses, there were three main types of baths, the caldarium (hot bath), the tepidarium, a cold bath,
and the frigidarium, a cold bath (Trueman). They also sometimes featured steam baths: the
sudatorium, a moist steam bath, and the laconicum, a dry steam bath. The laconicum is more or
less a modern day sauna. If someone was in the frigidarium and wished to go to the warm bath,
they had to go through something called tepidarium. The tepidarium was heated with warm air to

The American dream: a spouse, a few children, a lucrative job, a nice home, and of course, some

proud of their accomplishments. However, my beef arises with the very few Americans who
greatly surpass this dream. Yes, I mean the multi millionaires and billionaires of America.

If you follow financial news, then the name Tyco should also ring a bell. Tyco International s two
top executives have been accused of looting $600 million from the company s accounts. The
CEO, Dennis Kozlowski, squandered much of this money on excessive luxuries, like a $6,000
shower curtain for his penthouse apartment. He also spent $2 million of Tyco s money on his wife
s fortieth birthday party. The party was on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia and featured
fireworks, ice sculptures, flaming messages in the sky, a private Jimmy Buffet concert, and many
other extravagances. Kozlowski is currently on trial in New York. The list of companies involved

The days of the regular 9 to 5 workday, 40 hour week and relaxing vacations have all but gone by
the wayside. Today, they have more often than not been replaced by workdays with no set
timeframe, a workweek consisting of up to 60 hours or more and vacations that are for the most
part nonexistent. With such extreme changes in modern work habits, things such as relationships,
health and lifestyles suffer. Sadly, this disorder is not new to researchers nor is it as small as a
problem as most people think it is. People that worked harder and longer than needed were

Some people may think this type of disorder is mostly exhibited by those with jobs, but it has been
found that even those with no jobs also suffer from such an affliction. According to many
researchers studying today s work epidemic, it has been estimated that the majority of people with
this problem have come from such situations as dysfunctional families and alcoholic parent(s). The
cause for this stems from not being able to control situations that were not controllable. Work
addiction is considered an attempt to control a situation in which they cannot control. Other
researchers have found that the sudden increase of workaholism is stemmed from recent economic
pressures. People think that by working harder and logging longer hours is a viable way of
keeping a job in such harsh economic times. During a recent study by Saul Robinson, a
psychotherapist and professor at the University of North Carolina Charlotte found that there were
four different types of workaholics. The bulimic workaholic is one that thinks that a job must be
done PERFECTLY or not done at all. The relentless workaholic, described as an adrenaline
junkie, is one that tends to take on more work than can possibly be done. The attention deficit
workaholic is one that starts a job with a fury but then fails to finish because of lost interest for
another job. The savoring workaholic is one that works very slowly, is very

The New Health Care Reform
Lost in the New Health Care Reform In my view The Patients Choice Act that was introduced by
Paul Ryan in 2009 would have been a better choice for the new health care reform than The
Affordable Care Act. Even though there is no health care crisis of the uninsured, Ryan s plan
would have involved incentives for preventive care that could lower the cost of premiums and
encourage healthier lifestyles. Under The Patients Choice Act, the American people retain their
freedom whether to have health care or not; however the ACA has a personal mandate that

this does not mean it should be given. As Peikoff says in his book, Health Care is Not a Right,
The system guarantees you the chance to work for what you want not to be given it without

Nuclear Weapons And Its Effect On The World
Many world leaders claim that nuclear weapons are vital to maintain a healthy balance of power.
They guarantee that nuclear weapons are hindrances that keep the world from aggregating war.
Analysts are supporting this contention by pronouncing how nuclear weapons have been
keeping peace. In any case, different specialists and researchers prevent the viability from
claiming nuclear weapons as hindrances and announce that nuclear weapons will prompt more
confusion. The issue is that amidst a world, as of now, loaded with war and turmoil, global
leaders keep on insisting that the world s supply of nuclear weapons is really a shield, an
advantage in keeping the world from complete turmoil. Nuclear weapons have vastly impacted the
world, starting from the use of the atomic bomb in World War II. Simply stated, nuclear weapons
are explosives that are manipulated by nuclear reactions. The improvement of nuclear weapons
took years of experimentation and research dating back to the 18th century. Numerous individuals
support nuclear weapons in light of their compelling capacity to serve as deterrents of war and
their capacity to safeguard parity, globally. The principle safeguard for nuclear weapons originates
from the thought that nuclear weapons are going about as deterrents. Various specialists have

The Authors and Their Works
The Authors Their Works
In the words of E.H. Carr in his classic study of historiography, As discussed the backgrounds of
the authors and their works plays a significant role in the writing of their biographies. Everybody
is subjective; we are all to an extent shaped by what is around us.
The selected works mark turning points in the writing of the life of Cook, and each of them is
considered as an important work within the field of Cook studies. They all display certain
characteristics and carry certain discourses that mark them as also being evocative of their
respective time periods. Cook scholars have often tried to prove or disprove certain facts, striven
to edit and correct details or attempted to replicate and summarize the total available information.
All of this is part of a wider discourse, an exploration of which is helpful in interpreting the
backdrop surrounding Captain James Cook.
It seems only logical to start with the very first biography, although several works penned by
Cook s colleagues dealing with his character had appeared before this, most notably that of
Johann Reinhold Forster, naturalist on board the second voyage, in 1778. This first biographical
work, The Life of Captain James Cook, was written by the biographer and Non conformist
Reverend Andrew Kippis, a member of The Royal Society and The Society of Antiquaries, and
appeared 9 years after Cook s death in 1788. Consequently this is the same year as the arrival of

Education In The Middle Ages Essay
Education is the reason the world is filled with doctors, lawyers, policemen, accountants, and all
the other occupations that fuel modern society. In 1330, only five percent of the English
population was capable of reading and writing (Simkin). By 1500, sixty four Universities had
been established in Europe (McKitterick 152). William I, Duke of Normandy, gained control
over England after he conquered Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Very few English
citizens were educated at the time; the only people who possessed academic knowledge were part
of the church. Medieval England developed at a rapid pace. Due to this growth, the need for
educationwas urgent (Trueman). One can better understand the role of education by examining its
historical roots.
School in the Middle Ages relied on nature: it began at sunrise and ended at sunset and the breaks
were based on when families needed their children in the fields ( Not what it used ). The school
buildings consisted of one room where the boys studied with their teacher, who ordinarily had
previous religious experience. If a mistake was made during the memorization process, the teacher
would harshly slap the student s back side. No mistake would be made twice because of the
memory of the horrible pain inflicted on the student (Trueman). Although the students who attended
school were generally wealthy, students sat on the floor, utilizing a bone or an ivory stylus to write.

A typical week in the life of a financial manager involves working full time in which one in three
financial managers work more than 40 hours per week. These individuals must be accustomed to

willing to go above and beyond in order to secure themselves a job since there are more applicants
than there are job openings.

As jobs are scarce in the business world candidates must show that they are capable and proficient in
their craft as opposed to other candidates. Although, the minimum educational requirement is a

Social Media Addiction
We are certainly no strangers about social media, but do we know everything about it? Social
media are internet based technologies notably created on computer web based sites and mobile
apps platform, that facilitate the creation and sharing of information via virtual networks.
Through social networking we generate contents such as text post, digital photos and even
videos. It connects a user s profile with those of other individuals or groups. Social media has
rapidly altered our traditional understanding of relationships and personal information, making it
difficult for users to fully comprehend the consequences of a world where individuals can be
isolated everywhere they are in a group and where the private is also public. Social networking

unwanted distraction from reality and social life with people. Once it was a healthy escape from

Selling A Home Is A Real Estate Agent Essay
Selling a home can be a daunting task for a professional real estate agent. With property
promotion, open houses and a fluctuating market, trial and error usually wins out over book
knowledge and written rules. But, what about the homeowner who decides to sell their home
without the help of a professional. Believe it or not, you may find some of your greatest help in
comp homes. When placing your homeon the market for sale, you will inevitably look in your
neighborhood for other comp homes also for sale. Competitively pricing your home will draw in
potential buyers more quickly than pricing your home out of the range of other comp homes in
the area. This pricing model only works if you can find a comp home in your neighborhood. But,
how will you know if a home is comparable? Homeowners should always look at their rival
competition for help in selling a home. Visiting the open houses of other homes in the area, or
arranging for a walk through with the owners or real estateagent handling the sale, will help you
to gauge the home s condition, in comparison to your home. This tactic is also helpful for
homeowners selling a home without a real estate agent. Seeing how a real estate agent offers the
information about the comp home, viewing the real estate agent s fliers and promotion sheets, as
well as, seeing the changes or key points a real estate agent stresses during a walk through will
help you to better understand how you should be handling those aspects of your sale.

Marshals Research Paper
Over the course of the United States history, there have been numerous Federal Law enforcement
agencies that have protected and enforced laws within the United States. The Federal Borough of
Investigation (FIB), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (ATF) agency
all play a crucial role in a well ran Nation. There are many other Federal agencies that protect the
nation as well. The Transportation Security Agency (TSA) and customs and immigrations
department are just a few of many who protect the critical infrastructure of the United States. It s
hard to believe that there was one agency, the first federal agency, had the duty of all these
agencies and more. The US Marshals laid the foundation for the security of our... Show more

The west had small towns popping up everywhere and with little to no law, the Marshals were
called in to police the Wild West .
The Marshals duties really didn t with the exception of serving a lot more warrants and the hunting
of outlaws. Some of the famous outlaws hunted by the Marshals include Billy the Kid, Jessie
James, and Butch Cassidy. Marshals such as Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickok and Pat Garret were
perhaps just as famous or infamous as the outlaws themselves. After many outlaw and Marshal
deaths, the wild west calmed down and the Marshals moved into a new century that brought civil
unrest.
The 1900 s began with a steel, steel for railroads that is. With the expansion of America west,
railroads became the main source of travel. With no one to protect the railroads from robbers, and
natives, the US Marshals found themselves guarding Americas interest. 1917 brought the first
World War and the Marshals found them selves with new taskings from the justice department.
They protected ports and industries that were crucial to the success of America in the war.
Due to the development of multiple federal agencies such as the FBI, the Marshals fell silent until
the 1960 s. The 1960 s was the start of the civil rights movement in America. With all of the unrest,
the Marshals found themselves protecting equality and integration of races. In the late 60 s the
Department of Justice finally saw that the Marshals were a key asset within the department and

How Did Michelle Obama Influence The World
Michelle Obama is a powerful women through all the struggles that she has been through to be
successful as a mother, daughter, wife, African American, and a public figure. She shows us the
real key of success that most of us seem to get wrong which is hard work. This is the journey
through her life being a huge influence in the world for all who aspire to be successful. Her life
seems to be more than just perfect but that certainly doesn t come without any hardships and
love. It all started with Fraser Robinson who was Michelle s father. He was Michelle s
inspiration and the reason she is who she is today. He had a small job that was a station laborer a
fancy word for a janitor. In a time where African Americans didn t get much credit for his
abilities that was all he was offered though he was capable of much more. For him all that he
wanted was a happy home and a good future even if it meant that this job would cause him to have
multiple sclerosis. Michelle had a brother named Craig and the both of them were raised with an
emphasis on education and had learned to read at home by age four.
Michelle Robinson before she became Michelle Obama was born about six months after the civil
rights act was signed allowing Michelle to go to Princeton University and later Harvard Law School
. It was her father s hard work, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Debate On The Issue Of Poverty
JUDGEMENT FRAMEWORK
Poverty is a complex issue that has always been around, but has been a growing concern over
time. Holding a debate on the issue of poverty, is one that can easily go awry due to it s
complexity and emotional aspects. In order to evaluate the debate, both teams need to fully
understand the proposal and clearly articulate their stance.
The debate teams need to be able to clearly explain their position, refute the opponent s argument,
provide solutions, provide a stimulating counter examination, and effectively answer questions
from the judges. Other logistical aspects of the debate that will be judged on is the ability to
efficiently use time and allocate it between team members, as well as refraining from interrupting
other debates and keeping an appropriate volume and demeanor.
There are various general questions that will be utilized in my evaluation of the debate. Did the
teams address what poverty is, how people become poor and remain poor, explain why it s the
individual or society s fault, why we haven t been able to dramatically keep poverty low, why
current efforts are not working, and what new solutions should be utilized?
I expect both teams to utilize support for their arguments from outside sources and from the
readings. My general expectations for the arguments by both teams is to not only clearly explain
their proposed arguments, but to also

The Iraq Invasion Of Iraq
The Iraq Invasion is definitely a subject of immense controversy regarding whether or not it was the
appropriate action by the United States. Should the United States have interfered in Iraqi affairs?
What was the real intention of accusing Iraq for having weapons of mass destruction and holding
them accountable for the 9/11 terrorist attacks even though they were innocent of both allegations?
Did the U.S. media cover all the truth in Iraq? Was the main purpose of the invasion the greed of
oil ? Are Iraqis living in peace after overthrowing the dictator Saddam Hussain? All of the
reasoning provided by people who supported the Iraq Invasion proved to be incorrect and ignorant,

This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq s neighbors and against
Iraq s people . However, According to the CIA s final report in 2013, The CIA s top weapons
inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has gone as far as
feasible and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam
Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion (NBC). Bush s ignorance and false
perspective led to a war with no credible evidence as to why it even occurred. The American
citizens were lied to and voted for the Iraq war even though they were oblivious of the truth.
Although Saddam hussein was undoubtedly a harsh dictator and a cruel leader, Iraqis were safe
and terrorist attacks were very rare. Terrorism was never an issue before the United States
invaded Iraq. According to a study in Harvard University (center for Human Rights), With the U.S
invasion in March 2003, terrorism within Iraq s borders rose precipitously. There were 78 terrorist
attacks in the first twelve months following the U.S. invasion; in the second twelve months this
number nearly quadrupled, to 302 attacks. At the height of the war, in 2007, terrorists claimed
5,425 civilian lives and caused 9,878 injuries...Iraq, as President Bush claimed, became a central
front in the war on terrorism. But it was a front that the United States created. It is a very

David Herbert Lawrence s Moral And Mental Issues
David Herbert Lawrence was born on 11 September 1885 in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire(Becket
6). He lived in a poor family. His literary books generated mass contradictions and some of his
books were banned because of offensive content. He was affected by the old traditions of the 19th
century and the new ideals of the early 20th century. (Christinat iii). Lawrentian novels were full
of poor dissenters and used these kinds of people for taking ideas for his writings. Also, some
critics assert that there is no contact between his autobiography and writings. His themes are about
the power of immoral energy, political philosophy, romantic nature, spheres of desire and language,
sexuality, human existence, self growth, solution of conflict, selfhood, otherness, and blood
consciousness. He is a kind of writer who opens the various doors to critical viewpoints.Worthern
stated that Lawrence had ethical education in a big assembly of Eastwood and trained himself
both in moral and mental issues (1991a: 64 8). He got help from various sermons and temperance
systems to improve his morality. Ethics and language both helped him to make his personality very
well.He uses in his works the sense of togetherness, Englishness, renewing morality and religious
faith. As it was mentioned by Fiona Beckett that such poets as Mallarme who had a big effect in
French Symbolism impressed Lawrence very much. Wilhelm Worringer s Abstraction and Empathy
(1908) attracted Lawrence for abstraction and new

Is Comedy Really Censored Essay
Comedy tends to be a very subjective thing, what you find funny another may not find all that
amusing. But one of the most important rights we have in our country is the freedom of speech.
Which lets whatever jokes be said no matter how funny or offensive someone may or may not find
it. But in recent years this previously seemingly untouchable area that is comedy has seen it self
almost censored. But should comedy be given a pass from the fervent pc culture of the 21st
century? Comedians have always been the naughty child of the entertainment industry. Having the
edgy opinions but still managing to not be chastised by their respective fans. Where back then
comedians only had one fear which was whether their audience... Show more content on

Comedy should not be restrained to rules that constrain what can be and what can t be said.
Comedy is supposed to consist of a observational and satirical ideas and jokes and with the
reality of life these jokes can be offensive to some. Although this also doesn t mean that someone
being extremely crude trying to offend minorities and such Is funny just for the sake of comedy.
But instead of trying to get rid of that type of Comedy people should talk with their wallet
instead. If they don t like it they should not endorse that person and move on with their lives.
Although they might not like it their are others that do. As with any opinion our country we are
gifted with the freedom of speech we are allowed to speak and have any opinion that we choose
no matter how Controversial. But certain countries such as Canada do not seem to share the
same opinion as us. Where comedians have been fined for making offensive jokes directed
towards certain people. Such is the case of Mike Ward a Comedian fined $42k for making a joke
about some with a disability. While of course the mocking of

Vulnificus Essay
V. vulnificus causes disease in individuals who eat contaminated seafood or contaminating an
open wound or even a tiny scratch with seawater containing the organism. Because of the high
multiplication rate of the pathogen, wound infections may quickly progress to necrotizing
fasciitis and even secondary septicemia (Bier et al. 2015a). Babolsar is a coastal city in Iran.
This investigation was performed as the public awareness of the existence of the bacterium in the
regions under study. Shaw et al. (Shaw et al. 2014) reported that V. vulnificus strains were
detected from all sampling locations in Chesapeake Bay and Maryland Coastal Bays. Paydar and

The abundance of V. vulnificus in coastal water was strongly correlated to water temperature. The
isolation of cultivable forms is limited to the warmest months. Maugeri TL et al reported that V.
vulnificus was isolatd only when the water temperature was between 20 to 21.5В°C (Maugeri et
al. 2006). In the present study, the bacterium was isolated during the summer season (average
water temperature of 25В°C). It seems that this finding can show association of the cultivable
forms on high water temperature. In the current research, V. vulnificus was not found in any
samples obtained in the spring (average water temperature of 15В°C). In the Gulf of Mexico V.
vulnificus was not isolated when seawater temperatures were 14В°C (Pfeffer et al. 2003).When the
water temperatures reach to less than 13В°C, V. vulnificus strains enter the VBNC state in which
they are metabolically active but unable to reproduce on common culture media (Nowakowska and
Oliver 2013, Wu et al. 2016). In conclusion, with regard to the presence of V. vulnificus in the area
under study, the bacterium may cause disease in swimming who have open

We all have a duty of care to everyone we come into contact with or have an effect on, this
responsibility increases as we take on more responsible roles such as being a coach. Duty of
Care is a legal commitment to being responsible. First aid All Coaches should hold an
appropriate First Aid award to ensure they have the skills to appropriately treat an athlete if they
are needed to. Coaches must ensure they have all your health records encase something were to
happen e.g. if you had epilepsy and you suddenly began having a fit the coach would have to
know what to do. Keeping records One of the responsibilities of the coach is to keep records.
Whilst you may not be directly responsible for all of the following records, you may need to
collect information about your participants, your sessions, safety, accidents, venues etc. Coaches
also have a responsibility to the Data Protection Act (1998) that states only relevant and necessary
information should be held, used only for the purposes stated, not kept for longer than required,
secured in a safe place, disposed of securely, and not passed on without consent. Insurance If a
coach fails to meet their duty of care and someone becomes injured or suffers loss or damage, they
can make a claim against the coach. It is therefore vital that coaches have insurance to provide

  • 2. Steven Spielberg s Jurassic Park How exciting would it be to travel back in time and live with the dinosaurs? That is exactly the setting Steven Spielberg wanted to create in the movie version of the Michael Crichton novel, Jurassic Park. Science fiction adventure films, such as Jurassic Park, are exciting for all age groups. The audience is in awe of the characters, in this case realistic looking and acting dinosaurs. After a shocking death takes place due to an animal attack in Isla Nublar, an island 120 miles from Cuba, scientific experts are needed to investigate further. Dr. Alan Grant and assistant Ellie Sattler, also assisted by Dr. Ian Malcolm and Donald Gennaro, are invited by the peculiar billionaire, John Hammond, to join him in his new unique biological attractions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The country of Costa Rica is a perfect setting with all of the diversity of species and seclusion from other parts of the world to do experimental research with dinosaurs in secret. Isla Nublar, the specific location leased by Hammond as a biological preserve to do research, adds to the seclusion, as it is difficult to get to the island one hundred miles off the coast of Costa Rica and difficult to leave. Ian Malcolm, the mathematician invited to visit the park to access risk, takes one look around the island and says the problem with Isla Nublar is that it is an accident waiting to happen, effectively foreshadowing the events to occur shortly after the group s arrival on the island. Once the group drives the safari jeeps Hammond has provided through the gates of the theme park, it is as if they are in another world. The gates are described as enormous, primitive gates, torches blazing on either side. Again Malcolm foreshadows future events by looking up at the immense gates and asking if King Kong is inside. The seclusion of the island and confinement of the park builds the anticipation that an accident is imminent. This suspense is important because when the dinosaurs run free, the experts and the children feel cut off from the outside world and must find ways to save themselves. The time at which the park was built, the 1990s, was not long after supercomputers became prevalent. The climate on the island also added to the mysterious, clandestine atmosphere. For example, every time a tyrannosaurus rex came to attack the group, it was raining. When the t Rex flipped the jeep over, it was so foggy it was difficult to see. Appropriately, the secluded location of the theme park, Isla Nublar, means clouded island as most of it is encased in a dense fog. It was also exciting to see the dangerous ... I created meals whenever they were needed. I supplied a healthy and happy environment. I drove them places to stimulate their mind and have fun while learning. I was actually a communications aid which was a privilege to be part of their family in seeing how children with severe autism learn more with the senses because they do not have the abilities and motor skills that people are born with. Three of my favorite things about being a nanny are creating activities for them to do when they are bored. I love making the schedule for the day and being the one that sets the pace for organizing. Throughout the book, readers are shown the struggle of Ruth and her mother in law, Naomi, as they try to survive in a patriarchal world. In chapter one Ruth and Naomi s initial endeavor is revealed. Both Naomi and Ruth s husbands die and they are left abandoned, but together, after Ruth refuses to leave Naomi. By chapter two Naomi and Ruth have made it to Bethlehem and Ruth encounters Boaz for the first time while gleaning in his fields. ( Life Application Study Bible382) Ruth shows her true faith and loyalty for God, which any and every modern Christian should strive to mirror. However Rush s loyalty is also shown for Naomi in verses sixteen through eighteen. Naomi pleads with Ruth to go back to her family. Ruth, despite the fact that she is defying Naomi, refuses to return home. Ruth unlike other biblical characters does not let her loyalty stop at merely following orders given to her. Instead Mira Morgenstern author of Ruth and the Sense of Self: Midrash and Difference comments that Ruth affirms that she will always do what is [ethically and religiously] demanded of her, but will utilize methodologies consonant with her own judgment (16). Ruth remains loyal to Naomi despite Naomi s objections because Ruth is certainly doing what she thought was best for Naomi. By staying with Naomi, Ruth makes unexpected personal sacrifices. Ruth does not only remain loyal to God, but she also remains loyal to her kin even if the price seems too steep, because she knows her God will always provide. Twenty first century Christians could learn many lessons from Ruth s unwavering relinquishment for her people and her God. Ruth does not only offer loyalty but also provides Naomi with a source of stability. It can be said that Ruth takes on a man s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Taking a Look at Francis AlГїs Francis AlГїs Francis AlГїs has startled and dumbfounded our contemporary art world time and again. As a Belgian architect turned artist, now residing in Mexico city, AlГїs is able to offer a multi cultural approach to the problems and fallacies of today. Although AlГїs is clearly interested in themes of informal manual labor and homelessness in Mexico, failed promises to assist in the modernizing of Latin America, and society constructed limits in immigration and movement, his work tends to lend itself more towards poetic attitudes and moods of ephemera, instead of adopting a loud and violent feel. His projects rotate around ideas of magical absurdity, which leaves them open to interpretation and moves political and economic crises into landscapes of lyric, where they can be re examined. The most significant question he poses is whether such poetic acts, while underlining the senselessness of particular real situations, can also create a space for new ways of thinking (1). The way that AlГїs works reflects the fluidity of his ideas, he begins with a concept. He has spoken about being influenced by everything from fairy tales and children s book to Belgian Surrealism and early Italian Renaissance painting, and AlГїs has even begun projects based entirely on an anecdote he has happened upon. Then come the projects themselves, which are mostly actions and events. Some of these actions require months of developing and financing, and others are modest and abrupt. Francis will ... Current spirometers available in the market are expensive and usually cost over $1,000. Due to this high cost, many physicians practicing in developing countries like India, cannot afford spirometry equipment. As a result, millions of people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, are unable to be effectively monitored or treated for their disease. Thus, the development of a low cost reliable spirometer would allow these physicians to assess their patient s pulmonary health. • 13. Impact On The British Invasion The British Invasion took place during the mid 1960 s. British musicians began to look toward their American counterparts for inspiration, copying their styles and advertising to fans in the United States. By this point, British youth had been interested in American rock and roll since the 1950 s, captivated by its pronounced beats and suggestive lyrics (Robbins). However, Britain did not have the same musical background as the United States. In the States, rock and rollemerged from a coalescence of Country and Western, Rhythm and Blues, and Pop music (Stuessy). Because of this, rock from the United States had deep roots, while rock from Britain before the mid 1960 s lacked depth and was simply an imitation. Eventually, rock began to take off in Britain from two main locations: Liverpool and London. This music became insanely popular in both Britain and the United States (Robbins). When studying the British Invasion, it is important to analyze the musical differences between Liverpool and London, as well as look at why this music became so popular in the United States. Due to Britain s obsession with rock and roll, skiffle became popular once again. Skiffle is a type of music originating from jug bands and requires minimal instruments. Many skiffle bands used a guitar, banjo, and rudimentary instruments such as a kazoo (Williams). Manifesto Of The Communist Party The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole. Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism. It was split into two sections: a part for men and a part for women. The women typically got the smaller set of rooms. The selected works mark turning points in the writing of the life of Cook, and each of them is considered as an important work within the field of Cook studies. Cook scholars have often tried to prove or disprove certain facts, striven to edit and correct details or attempted to replicate and summarize the total available information. All of this is part of a wider discourse, an exploration of which is helpful in interpreting the backdrop surrounding Captain James Cook. It seems only logical to start with the very first biography, although several works penned by Cook s colleagues dealing with his character had appeared before this, most notably that of Johann Reinhold Forster, naturalist on board the second voyage, in 1778. Very few English citizens were educated at the time; the only people who possessed academic knowledge were part of the church. Medieval England developed at a rapid pace. Due to this growth, the need for educationwas urgent (Trueman). One can better understand the role of education by examining its historical roots. School in the Middle Ages relied on nature: it began at sunrise and ended at sunset and the breaks were based on when families needed their children in the fields ( Not what it used ). The school buildings consisted of one room where the boys studied with their teacher, who ordinarily had previous religious experience. • 46. Is Comedy Really Censored Essay Comedy tends to be a very subjective thing, what you find funny another may not find all that amusing. But one of the most important rights we have in our country is the freedom of speech. Which lets whatever jokes be said no matter how funny or offensive someone may or may not find it. But in recent years this previously seemingly untouchable area that is comedy has seen it self almost censored. But should comedy be given a pass from the fervent pc culture of the 21st century? Comedians have always been the naughty child of the entertainment industry. Having the edgy opinions but still managing to not be chastised by their respective fans. Where back then comedians only had one fear which was whether their audience... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The abundance of V. vulnificus in coastal water was strongly correlated to water temperature. The isolation of cultivable forms is limited to the warmest months. Maugeri TL et al reported that V. vulnificus was isolatd only when the water temperature was between 20 to 21.5В°C (Maugeri et al. 2006). In the present study, the bacterium was isolated during the summer season (average water temperature of 25В°C). It seems that this finding can show association of the cultivable forms on high water temperature. In the current research, V. vulnificus was not found in any samples obtained in the spring (average water temperature of 15В°C). In the Gulf of Mexico V. vulnificus was not isolated when seawater temperatures were 14В°C (Pfeffer et al. 2003).When the water temperatures reach to less than 13В°C, V. vulnificus strains enter the VBNC state in which they are metabolically active but unable to reproduce on common culture media (Nowakowska and Oliver 2013, Wu et al. 2016). In conclusion, with regard to the presence of V. vulnificus in the area under study, the bacterium may cause disease in swimming who have open ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
