Radar During World War I
During World War I battles were fought using ears and eyes. This was due to the fact that there was no
such thing as radar. By the late 1940s, Britain and United States researched and developed radar
systems for themselves to use during World War II . Today, radar is one of the most prevalent
equipment devices used in the military, especially on naval ships. Radar is so detrimental to the navy
because it detects invisible or distant objects by means of reflected radio waves and is capable of
locating them accurately in space . Using this method, radars are able to scan for and, or track targets
that, again, are too far for the human eye to see. With the AN/SPQ 9B, a ship is able to do both; in fact
it can track while scanning. The track while

America Is The Land Of Immigrants Essay
America is the land of immigrants. This was the first thing I ever heard about the supreme global
power of the 21st century, and my definition of immigration has been expanding since then. Being an
immigrant myself, I had the opportunity to gain several first hand experiences in the processes of
migration and assimilation in a host society. Although the benefit of being a second generation
migrant eased my transition than that of many first generation migrants, the culture I brought with me
from India, my home country, did not fail to shape my life in the US. Culture implants moral values in
one s personality directing the cognitive pathways towards decision making, which ultimately
influence life goals and attainment of those goals too. This influence of culture is conspicuous in the
differences observed in the realizations of the American dream among different ethnic groups,
representing different cultural backgrounds. In this ethnography, I take a deeper look at the migration
perspectives of a first generation Indian migrant to the US named Krishna, who was able to achieve
the American dream. Belonging to one of the most successful immigrant groups in the US, i.e. the
Indians, Krishna possesses a relatively positive stance towards his migration experience compared to
the most immigrant stories of suffering that come to the limelight in the society. Growing up in India
in the 1970s: a post colonial society with increasing rates of emigration, Krishna always desired

Compare And Contrast Zeus And Taurus
In my humble opinion, all of the constellations are beautiful. But none of the constellations attract me
more than the Gemini constellation. I wish I had an elaborate story as to why i m so attracted to the
Gemini constellation, but truth be told, Gemini is my favorite because i m a Gemini! The Gemini
constellation was first discovered by Ptolemy, a 2nd century AD astronomer. Gemini means Twins in
Latin. Without a telescope, it is made up of 85 visible stars. The bordering constellations are Lynx,
Auriga, Taurus, Orion, Monoceros, Canis Minor, and Cancer. The myth that belongs to the Gemini
constellation goes a little something like this. There once were two twin brothers named Castor and
Pollux, together known as Dioskouri. Their mother s name was Leda, but there were two fathers.
Castor s dad was Tyndareus, the king of Sparta, and Pollux s dad was Zeus, father of God s and men.
Leda was married to Tyndareus, but was seduced by Zeus. Castor and Pollux were very close. One day
Castor was killed, and since he wasn t Zeus s son, he wasn t immortal. Pollux asked his father if he

Environmental Scanning of Nintendo
1. Environnemental scanning
Macro Environment
Macro environment is said to be the most general layer of the environment. This consists of broad
environmental factors that have an impact on the organization. The PESTEL framework helps us to
identify the future trends which might impinge on Nintendo and therefore identify the key drivers of
change. On the other hand the five forces framework helps to understand how the competitive
dynamics within and around the video game industry are changing.
PESTEL Framework:
This categorizes environmental influences into six main types: political, economic, social,
technological, environmental and legal.
Political:
Factors such as taxation policies, foreign trade regulations and social welfare ... Show more content on

Also, games have an influence to the culture of people; bring aggression in children, etc all which
have an impact on the industry.
Technological:
The role of technology is vital in this industry as it focuses on technological efforts for competitive
advantage. Every new development uses new technology. Though there are restricted innovations in
the gaming industry, the speed of technological transfer is very high. Nintendo s role from playing
cards to toys to video games and then with each console introduced, included many technological
changes. Technological up gradation increased hardware costs and discouraged innovation. The online
capability of Nintendo Wii was a major change in the technology of the video game industry though
they were not able to do as well as their competitors (Sony, Microsoft).
Environmental:
The video game industry uses a lot of plastic resources. Playing games on television or computers
does consume a lot of power. Nintendo therefore see to it that their games utilize low power. On the
other hand protecting the environment and practicing a green lifestyle is a value many of today s
parents are trying to teach their children. Nintendo facilitates in that effort through the creation of
Super Mario Sunshine , which challenge players to improve the environment around them.
Legal:
The legal issues faced by the video game industry include trademarks, copyrights, licensing, online
ownership, revenue recognition and demands of

Investigation Of A Security Clearance For A Position...
I.INTRODUCTION
Background investigations are an essential aspect of the vetting process for both employees and
potential employees of the US Federal, State, and Local governments and private sector companies
that provide support, services and products to these government entities. These investigations are
conducted to determine the suitability of the subject of the investigation to hold a security clearance
for a position impacting our national security. Many of the individuals hired by the aforementioned
organizations are placed in positions which require a security clearance. Based on the type of
clearance, the person has access to information that is crucial to implementation of the missions of US
government entities and private ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
II. INSIDER THREATS
The purpose of US Federal Government background investigations is to determine if individuals are
deemed acceptable for employment within the US government, and more importantly, prevent
individuals of malafied intent from gaining access to a position impacting the US national security.
Properly executed background investigations can greatly diminish the possibility of a potential insider
threat obtaining access to classified information, which can cause the US great harm and the US
government great embarrassment.
Prior to the founding of the United States of America, the insider threat has hindered the security of a
nation. It is written that the outward destruction of a country results from the inward turmoil of its
government. Numerous historical accounts of internal conflicts endangering the welfare of countries
are present in the history books of most countries. In most instances, the conflict occurred within the
governmental structure of the nation. Regarding internal threats, the US government is not immune
from this imminent danger. Constantly, there are numerous threat to US government operations that

A Brief Note On Canada And The United States Essay
Accessibility About 80% of Canadian claims that they have a family doctor and 64% of the population
claim to have a dentist. In another word, the healthcare in Canada is considered to be highly
accessible. Unfortunately, the system does have its flaws in situations such as the aboriginals, the
people with disabilities, and for the populations that lives outside the urban areas have less accessible
healthcare providers. For many instances, the dweller of the rural and reserves areas would have to
travel for hours to find a clinic and for others it is simply not available. Compare to Canada, in the
USA, healthcare is currently not accessible to all Americans but only to certain societal groups that are
less fortunate. It is estimated that by 2019, the uninsured population in the States may increase to 65.7
million people, or 23.2% of the population. The U.S. population has a constant stable growing rate,
which means the U.S. healthcare systems will have to provide for an even larger population than it
already has. The U.S. population is expected to increase by 325 million by 2020; the population will
increase by about 20%. All this to say that it is crucial that America tries to make healthcare more
accessible and available to the entire population not solely to the indigents and seniors for the better of
the society. If this situation is not resolved, it will only cause more deficiency in the American
healthcare system and making the situation worse than it already is.

Essay On Exclusionary Rule
The Exclusionary Rule The exclusionary rule exists so that the government cannot use evidence if it is
seized in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution (Carlson, 2017). That is
to say that there are certain requirements that are needed in different situations to search an individual.
Each situation is different It should be noted that different situations will create different standards and
requirements as it pertains to searching and individual or property. As an example, there is the exigent
circumstances clause. This clause states that it there is a reasonable likelihood of physical harm to the
officer or others or there is a reasonable expectation that evidence is being destroyed or a suspect is
escaping, there is no need for a warrant to conduct the search (Busby, 2017). In contrast, an officer
who has probable cause to believe a residence contains evidence of criminal activity, but has none of
the aforementioned situations, must obtain a valid search warrant before conducting the ... Show more

The checks and balances system exists to make sure that all individuals are afforded the right to
unreasonable searches and seizures. As described above, the Fourth Amendment has exceptions for
situations that can cause potential harm to individuals or destruction of evidence. The administrative
system in place is not only practical, but also necessary. Meaning, without these standards and
exceptions there would be way too many decisions left up to the individual officer involved. This
would create a situation where the rights of individuals would inevitably be violated. As a police
officer, I ve worked within this system for almost 27 years and I trust the system. It holds me
accountable as well as my fellow officers. Although the system can be frustrating at times, it is

An Examination Of The Newtonian Method
Connor McCourt

An Examination of The Newtonian Method
The aim of Isaac Newton s Principia is explicitly stated in his preface to the reader: His desire is to
reestablish natural philosophy; to show how philosophers can employ various mathematical and
experimental methods to phenomena in order to reach conclusions about nature, particularly about the
motions of solid bodies. Through the utilization of geometry to describe celestial firmament, he
wishes to accurately demonstrate mechanics with a direction guided by the foundations of geometry.
In his analysis, the purpose of geometry is to teach the solutions of practical mechanics upon
mechanical procedures, thus he constitutes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This preliminary framework expresses that forces are proportional to mass and to acceleration. Since
mass or the quantity of matter and acceleration are both quantities that can be measured, it seems
Newton gives the reader a means of measuring the forces that are to governed the natural world. If one
begins to treat forces as measurable quantities, then one can endeavor to identify two ostensibly
discordant forces as a single, compounded force through thinking of them as measurements. It is this
move by Newton that appears to be revolutionary in a world that solely treated material bodies with
properties like size, shape, mobility and solidness. For example in proposition one of book one,
gravity presents itself as a kind of centripetal force, or impressed force on a material body. Thus the
body moving in a straight line will continue to do so until it experiences a gravitational pull (seen in
the body s movement from point B to C, C to D etc.) in which case it will diverge from a straight line
motion produced by its inherent force. (B to c) Indeed, the gravitational pull might originate with
various masses in various circumstances, manifest as various entities and the forces present at hand
may be different with movement to movement of the body. As long as one is measuring these forces
by looking at the relationships of same kinds that exist in the phenomenon examined, the geometry
utilized for describing the proportionality between

Romeo And Juliet Flower Analysis
In a dark and mysterious forest, there are two flowers. An innocent white flower and a vile red flower.
The white flower wondered if there were only downsides to being a flower. Such as having too much
sun or too much rain. They discussed this, then they saw a deer. It is the most beautiful thing on earth,
the white flower said. The red flower then replied, that creature is dangerous. He stamped my whole
family into the ground. The red flower told the white flower They stood exactly where you are right
now. The white flower looked dejected, then red flower warned the white flower, The most beautiful
things often times are the most dangerous. The day turned into night, and the night sky reflected off
the white flower s eye. Showing the world through her eyes. As the sun rises, the flowers wake up.
Juliet waits for her Romeo, the red flower teased. The white then told the red flower that she wishes
the deer would take her with him. The red flower says yes of course, he carries you around in his
mouth, he shows you the world, and then on a warm morning in spring he conceives descendants with
you on a meadow. A whole bunch of deer flowers
White flowers response to the red flower s statement is, Oh really?
Red flower then says, No, it comes along eats you, end of story.
The white flower replies by saying she does not care and it is better than standing there all of her life.
The red flower says, You want to be eaten by this beast?

Security, The Big Picture
1. OBJECTIVE:
Security, the big picture
A secure enterprise , big or small, should have an approach to security that is comprehensive and end
to end if it is to be effective. Most organizations do not have such policies and practices in place.
There are some good reasons for this; security clearly comes at a cost. This cost can be measured not
just in dollars, but also in complexity, time and efficiency. To make things secure, it is necessary to
spend money, perform more procedures, and wait for these procedures to complete (or perhaps
involve someone else).
The reality is that true security programs are difficult to achieve. It is usually necessary to choose a
schema that has a certain amount of cost and an understood amount of security coverage. (This is
almost always less than comprehensive and end to end .) The point here is to make educated decisions
for each aspect of an overall system and to consciously employ more or less in a calculated fashion. If
one knows the areas that are less protected, one can at least monitor such areas to determine problems
or breaches.
2. SCOPE:
Knowing the network
It is not possible to protect anything unless one clearly understands WHAT one wants to protect.
Organizations of any size should have a set of documented resources, assets and systems. Each of
these elements should have a relative value assigned in some manner as to their importance to the
organization. Examples of things that should be considered are

Pet Pets And Pet Owner
Every animal lover and pet owner has a desire to give his or her pets the best life possible. I for one

If you live in the Los Angeles area and have had a beloved pet die, you might be wondering if there is
a pet cemetery where you can lay your faithful friend to rest. Fortunately, one of the oldest pet
cemeteries on the West Coast is located in the Los Angeles area. It s long and colorful history make it
a unique haven for pet owners. Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park, nestled in the rolling hills of
Calabasas, consists of 10 acres of peaceful, beautifully landscaped grounds. This pet cemetery,

Business Owners Of Sole Proprietorships And Partnerships
I. Introduction
When the term salary comes to mind, people reference employee wages and the taxes paid by both the
employee and the employer. However, the term has a slightly different meaning when it comes to
payment of business owners. There are many options on how business owners can be paid, but the
options are based on the business entity election. Business owners of sole proprietorships and
partnerships do not receive a real salary; instead they receive profit distributions from business
operations. Profits from a partnership are then divvied up based on the ownership percentage of each
partner. They are not responsible for paying the FICA tax, but they do need to pay self employment
taxes and quarterly estimated taxes. Business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first major source include the services performed by the shareholder (i.e. administrative tasks
daily business tasks) in which require compensation to be awarded from distributed profits. The
second and third major sources include acquired profits from non shareholder employees as well as
equipment and capital added to the business. The profits that are distributed from these sources are
indirectly created within the business and are to be distributed as compensation and dividends (S
Corporation Compensation and Medical Insurance Issues 2016).
The IRS knows that business owners are not keen on paying taxes, so they have put together a list of
rules to make sure that business owners are compensating themselves. One of the biggest advantages
of electing the S corporation status is being able to take a salary as well as distribute profits to
shareholders. However, determining the amount of the business owner s salary can be problematic.
Since Mr. Jones and Mandy are going to take salaries of $180,000 and $70,000 respectively, the IRS is
not going to notice red flags. Another key point is that profits should be divided in a way that salaries
are more than distributions. The 60/40 split allows Mr. Jones to claim 60% of all profits to be
distributed, nothing higher or lower. If Mr. Jones company made $100,000 one year, he could not

The Sociological Analysis Of Alienation In The Office
The Office is a popular comedy show that originated in the UK and ventured into the U.S. It is popular
among mostly millennials but can be cross generational because of the different cohort groups that are
represented in the show. The run down is that it s a mockumentary about a mediocre paper company
called Dunder Mifflin and the workers that cohabitate within. With Michael Scott being a kind, lenient
yet socially unaware and naive branch manager also having an extremely wide variety of personalities
coexisting in this primary social agent the episodes never fail to entertain. Exemplifying very simple

Another strong sociological concept I pondered upon while watching any episode was gender biases.
Sociologists have studied differences between gender and have come to the conclusion that men and
women tend to make up majority of the jobs on the opposite side of the job spectrum. For instance,
men typically obtain jobs that express power, and decision making, such as manager, sales rep, or a
doctor. When women mostly occupy jobs that are emotion driven and require more emotional labor,
such as social workers, nurses, and receptionists. The Office reflects this idea because Pam Beesley is
the receptionist and is the first face you see when walking into the office. Pam has great emotional
labor and she shows it throughout the series by smiling at people even when she has gone through a
divorce as well as when her parents were going through a divorce. In the episode Dream Team Pam
leaves the office to start her own paper company (Yay for Pam transcending gender norms in the work

I. Abstract
The purpose of the Sarbanes Oxley Act is to protect investors by improving the accuracy and
reliability of corporate disclosures made pursuant to the securities law, and for other purposes.
(Lander, 2004) The Act created new standards for public companies and accounting firms to abide by.
After multiple business failures due to fraudulent activities and embezzlement at companies such as
Enron Sarbanes and Oxley recognized a need for the revamping of our financial systems laws, rules
and regulations. Thus, the Sarbanes Oxley Act was born.

IV. Requirements for Publicly Traded Companies
Public companies issuing securities, public accounting firms, and firms providing auditing services
whether they are domestic or foreign must comply with Sarbanes Oxley. (Sarbanes Oxley Act Section
404, 2002) Additionally, publicly traded companies with a market capitalization greater than $75
million must comply with these new rules. (Don E. Garner, 2008) A company s management is
required to provide an external auditor with all financial statements for the current review period.
Upon reviewing these statements the auditor issues a report classified as unqualified, unqualified with
explanation, qualified, adverse, or disclaimer based on what they find or do not find. All public
companies reports are available on the Securities Exchange Committees website, below is a sample of
what this report looks like. You can imagine what a relief this was for investors, to be able to search
any company and find statements solidifying their prospective investment.

The Cheesecake Factory Experience

PAPER
I personally don t like to eat out much. I only go out and eat when there are any special occasions. The
last time I went out eating was with my boyfriend on our first anniversary. We went to The
Cheesecake Factory which is also on of my favorite places to dine in.
The Cheesecake Factory is very familiar with everyone now. This place is famous for their
cheesecakes as well as the diversity of food to choose from. The Cheesecake Factory was established
in the 1940s by Oscar and Evelyn Overton. Mrs. Overton personally made baked cheesecakes in the
basement of their home for the best local restaurants. In 1972 they moved their business to Los
Angeles, California where they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think anyone can do that, no need to depend on any person. So in case if it was really busy, a single
person cannot prepare cheesecake for all the customers in the same time, others can help. Besides, I
believe ethics are a collection of principles and practices that a business believes in and aims to live
by. The Cheesecake Factory s mission statement and more specific policies about conduct to give
employees, partners, vendors, and outsiders an idea of what the corporation stands for and how it s
staff should conduct themselves. Key areas that are of significant importance to The Cheesecake
Factory start with the general standards of conduct in how all its employees will be treated by fellow
employees and by management. The standards deals the basic values that we all have, with the
expectation of building trust, loyalty, honesty, respect, and a high level of professionalism within the
company. This will create a positive working environment that will uplift the attitudes and morale of
its employees and depending on what your position is could increase productivity and customer
relations. All jobs have a certain amount stress related to it, but having those basic codes of the takes
away a lot the negative personal stress that can arrive on the job.
In conclusion, I still consider The Cheesecake Factory is my favorite place to eat. Even though I had a
bad experience there once, I think that they can improve it better.

Immunization In Nursing
A common problem in the field of nursing is immunization and injection errors. Every day people
receive the incorrect immunization, dose, or by the incorrect procedure. There are several reasons
these errors happen and several ways to minimize them. I intend to reveal these reasons and explain
how I have limited these errors in our family practice. It is recommended that people receive the
hepatitis B vaccine at birth, two and six months of age. The hepatitis B vaccine prevents hepatitis B
which can have no symptoms at all or fever, vomiting, headaches and jaundice. Complications of the
disease could be joint pain, liver failure and liver cancer (CDC). At two months of age it is also

Pride And Arrogance In Oedipus The King
Throughout the play, Oedipus The King, Oedipus excessive pride and arrogance,
known as hubris, is the first major trait within himself that leads to his tragic demise.
This makes him see himself as being perfect and flawless, on a level with the gods and is
shown as arrogance and an impulsive temper. Oedipus arrogant form of hubris is first
shown in the very beginning of the play when Oedipus says: Here I am, myself, world
famous Oedipus. (6) In this instance, he is very proud of his fame for being the one to
solve Sphinx s riddle. A second example of his hubris is shown when he rejects the
ideas of fate and of gods being in control of lives. When the oracle makes predictions

Tiresias by saying: While you re here you are a hindrance, a nuisance; once out of the

Tiresias by saying: I am angry enough to speak out...I think that you helped to plan the
murder of Laius yes... (21). After being accused by Oedipus, Tiresias declares Oedipus
to be the one who murdered Laius. Oedipus also frequently shows a short and hot

Laius and murderer. Even though there is no evidence of Creon murdering Laius,
Oedipus puts the blame on Creon as he is impatient and frustrated over not being able to

betraying Oedipus when he states: Not at all. Death is what I want for you, not

Samsung Electronics Products
According to Kotler and Armstrong (2012), product is defined as something that is offered to the
market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption that may satisfy a person s wants or needs.
Products can be physical goods like mobile phones, books or computers. It could be intangible goods
as well such as services, events, ideas, organizations or places. Kotler and Armstrong (2012) further
explained that products are the primary element in the overall market offering as it is the first step in
marketing mix planning, and that is to develop an offering that can create values to target market and
build profitable customer relationships. Samsung Electronics develops various of smartphones with
different features that are specifically catered for different groups of people. One of their well known

Credible In The Media Analysis
In a work where news gets thrown in our faces right , left and center , it becomes difficult to filter out
which news is true and which is not. But , before asking how to filter out the news , we need to ask
ourselves why should we have to categorise the news as credible or non credible ? Why would the
person writing this article wouldn t want to lie to me ? Many times a journalist may get a story from a
source who may or may not be very honest or in some rare cases journalists may make up stories with
twisted facts and misquoting individuals. However, in the media business , when someone makes a

Analysis Of The Decade From Hell
The Decade From Hell: Terrorism, War, and Recession in the 2000s At the end of 2009, Time
Magazine controversially named 2000 2009 The Decade from Hell, citing numerous factors which had
contributed to the breakdown of the idyllic view that Americans and many others had previously held
of the United States (TIME, 2009). Factors cited included the contested results of the 2000 election,
the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks on the twin towers, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Hurricane
Katrina, the financial crisis, Detroit s collapse, and revelations about human rights violations at the
military base in Guantanamo Bay. It wasn t all negative, however. Technology continued to advance
rapidly, with smartphones gaining popularity and social media becoming prevalent in the mid 2000s
(Dreier, 2015). In 2008, the U.S. made a huge step forward for civil rights, with Barack Obama
becoming the first African American president (and the first president with Muslim roots). Closing out
the decade, The Miracle on The Hudson brought a lot of people new hope when a pilot managed to
save every passenger on US Airways Flight 1549, which seemed doomed following a double engine
failure. The political atmosphere in the early 2000 s was significantly different than that of the Obama
years, and thus it is impossible to choose a song that accurately represents the entire decade. The Bush
era was marked by a notable anti war sentiment, which is voiced in Eminem s 2004 single Mosh

How Does T. S. Eliot s Influence On Society
Literature possesses the capability to vastly influence the world, and those who find a way to impact
literature drive the powerful influence. Few people in the history of literature publicized as many
thoughts and critical views as T.S. Eliot, and by disseminating his opinions throughout the literature
world, Eliot found a way to communicate new perspectives and tastes in literature (Worthen). Born in
the fall of 1888, T.S. Eliot grew up to become one of the most influential poets of all time, as he found
a unique way of communicating through literature. Sometimes referred to as the keeper of the
language or the model poet of our time Eliot presented powerful criticisms of society, while brilliantly
presenting his ideas through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beyond the poetry he wrote, Eliot drove the world to modernist views through essays and other means
of literature. Containing stories, news, and opinions of both T.S. Eliot and others who wrote about
him, The Letters of T.S. Eliot offer an inside perspective on Eliot s life (Eliot and Haffenden). In
Volume 1 of the revised edition of the letters Patrick Query describes how T.S. Eliot felt so much
passion for culture and how it must improve (Letters, Volume 1). In the volume, the writer states Eliot
started a movement to modernize literature all on his own. Eliot contained such a strong passion for
making the world a better place, that as society generally acted apathetically towards life, Eliot strived
for a culture where people actually inserted energy and passion into life (Poetry Foundation). Also, in
John Worthen s biography of T.S. Eliot, the author believes Eliot focused the entire masterpiece of
Four Quartets on illustrating to his audience despite painful times in life, people must focus more on
the beauty of life (Worthen). After addressing the aspects of society he believed needed to improve,
Eliot wrote several poems on each topic which showed the beauty of his opinion and a more joyful
culture. The Waste Land helps describe how to improve the war stricken world, and other poems such
as Four Quartets and The Sacred Wood deal with other cultural characteristics Eliot strived to
improve. Devoting much of his literature career to impacting

Sma Case Perp Essay
In this paper, I would argue that the best strategy for MEPD is new product development and
innovation based on the current market environments and its unique technical capabilities. To support
my argument, I would use Congruence Model to analyze the problems and advice solutions.
Crucial Performance
SMA has a strong technological capability in the invention and had been running at an average of 10%
growth over the previous 10 years. As one of eight line division in SMA, MEPD developed unique
technical advantages and entered new markets quickly until 2000. However, as the general economy is
going through a tough period and tge business environment becomes very competitive, MEPD fails to
keep its uniqueness and struggles with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third problem is alignment of human resource. Most of the newly promoted managers have no
experiences within MEPD. Though they have strong engineering skills but were weak in marketing
and collaborative skills to manage the activities across departments, resulting there is no leadership
within the organization. Additionally, most of the specialists were recent technical or business
graduates with one or two years of sales experience in marketing department. The similar situation
happened in sales department.
The last problem is alignment of culture. The existing culture is conservative and lack of mutual trust
and confidence, which hinders the new product development cycle. Additionally, the budget
forecasting systems encourages unrealistic results. To meet corporate s growth and profits objectives,
people only focus on volume and sacrifice profitability.
Conclusions: Integration
The core business strategy for MEPD is new product development and responsive service to
individual customer specification. To realize this objective, management needs implement a universal
business strategy throughout the organization, and then aligns the strategy with formal organization,
human resources and culture. There are several options as demonstrated in the following.
In terms of formal organization, management hierarchy should become an effective integrative tool.
For example, if there are any disagreements

Warfare In The Middle Ages
In the Middle Ages, which sprouted from the sacking of Rome by Germanic tribes, society became
more isolated and survivalism based, with merely living taking precedent over education and social
activity. This was truly a dark age, with Christianity providing the only hope during this feudalistic
and tumultuous time period. Throughout this time period, the clergy gained more and more power,
eventually sparking the Crusades. While they failed, they did open trade routes, bringing a better
economy to the Europeans. Also, governments eventually evolved, bringing in the Parliament, a
legislative group of knights, bishops, and lords. Finally, near the end of the Middle Ages, the black
death took about one third of the population of Europe, bringing in economic and social reforms.
Then, the Hundred Years War took place, marking the end of the Age of Faith.

Huns taking over their homelands, and other feuds between Roman leaders and the Germanic

A Comparison of Death of a Naturalist and Digging by Seamus Heaney
The poems Death of a Naturalist and Digging have many similarities, and contrasts. Some of the
reoccurring themes in the two poems include memories of childhood and changes in the life of the
writer. There are contrasts too, in Death of a Naturalist ; the writer is concentrating on himself and his
own experiences in life, rather than the experiences of others. In Digging , the opposite is true, as the
writer concentrates mainly on the events in other people s lives, namely his father and grandfather.
The endings of both the poems have a different feel to them. Digging finishes in a much more positive
tone than Death of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Death of Naturalist is about a young boy, his love for nature and how he relishes every aspect of the
countryside. A part of this passion is being aware of a host of small things that many people would
find insignificant; animals, frogspawn and all the noises of life around him. This changes in the
second stanza. The poet has a change of heart and he seems to retreat from the nature he previously
loved. He writes:
I sickened, turned and ran
So we can see he doesn t feel the same passion about nature any more, it was a death of the naturalist.
Digging is about a young man who feels that he is not worthy to follow in his father s footsteps. He
tells the reader about how great his father and grandfather were, but throughout the poem he says very
little about himself. Towards the end his mind is changed. Although his ancestors were hard working
men who earned their living through digging, he feels that his writing is a worthy path to follow. He
will dig with his pen.
Toward the end of both these poems the feelings change. In each poem the writer feels one thing at the
beginning, but toward the conclusion his mind is changed, either for the better, in Digging , or for the
worse, in Death of a Naturalist . It could be said that he had a change in perspective.
Even so, both poems have a deeper

Espionage Act Pros And Cons
In 1919, the Supreme Court had justified the cause of clear and present danger . This was exercised
relating to Charles Schenck releasing thousands of flyers to American servicemen recently drafted to
fight in World War I. The flyers described the draft as being involuntary servitude . The flyer states
that the government had no right to send American citizens to other countries to kill people. It also
mentioned that the war itself was motivated by capitalist greed, and urged draftees to petition for
repeal of the draft. Since this event Schenck was charged because of the recently enacted Espionage
Act. This act made any utterance that was considered disloyal toward the U.S. government, the
Constitution, or the military completely illegal. Schenck responded that the Espionage Act violated the
First Amendment of the Constitution. The Constitutional issue within this court case was that it
violated the 1st amendment, given the freedom of speech. But everyone else would argue back that the
1917 Espionage Act was already in place. But this too would be unconstitutional. Against this test, the
Court upheld the Espionage Act and affirmed Schenck s conviction, finding that his speech had

Relief of a winged genius is a two dimensional stone relief sculpture currently located on the first
floor of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, in the Ancient Near East
Gallery (Accession number: 81.56). It is an Assyrian artifact excavated from the palace walls of the
capital of ancient Nimrud, dating between 883 859 B.C. The unknown artist s deliberate use of size,
material, scale, style and content, together with the sculpture s original setting, reflects the politically

After one takes in the armed and protective aura of the Winged Being, the eyes are struck by the the
very detailed workings of his hair and beard. His thick, curly and luxuriant hair suggests the kind of
hair that only the most virile of men posess. This human aspect of the winged being serves as way to
reflect the kings own power and virility. In terms of the object s anatomy, one notices the markings
that are inscribed over the area that encompasses the space directly above his left knee and below the
top of the sword in his right hand, spanning the full width of the sculpture. These markings are
actually text and is a form of writing technique called Cuneiform. The same text that is on Relief of A
Winged Genius also appears on other reliefs within the palace walls. The inscription tells of the story
of the kings lineage, his military victories, how he founded
Kalhu (present day Nimrud, Iraq) and built his palace. These inscriptions are a perfect example of
political propaganda which purposely highlight the kings skill and accomplishments. Considering the
artist s choice of medium, form, and content, it s clear that he or she chose their elements very
carefully to convey a message of power, strength, and permanence to the intended viewer at the time.
It s clear that this artist was comissioned by Ashurnasirpal II

Lord Of The Flies Civilization Analysis
Within any civilization, there are multiple key components required in order to create a functioning
society. As explained through Lord of the Flies by William Golding, these pivotal building blocks of a
civilization can play a great part into bringing a group of people to society, or drag them all down into
savagery. The conch shell is an excellent example of political legitimacy and democratic power.
Although, while this device can be used for good; providing others with order and sanity, it can also
be used for the utter destruction of a civilization. The conch shell in Lord of the Flies by William
Golding begins as civilization and order, becomes the fragility of power and influence, and concludes
with the collapse of any civilized thoughts. Civilization and order can be found within every society,
and this is no exception within the group of boys in the beginning of the novel. Throughout the
exposition of the story, governance over the group of boys was unknown. No order was established to
influence the boys to cooperate and fulfill the needed tasks to get off the island. Although, there was a
stillness about Ralph as he sat that marked him out: there was his size, and attractive appearance...yet
most powerfully, there was the conch. The being that had blown that, had sat waiting for them on the
platform with the delicate thing balanced on his knees, was set apart (Golding 22). The conch shell
was able to control and demand a large audience. It provided Ralph with a

the appearance of religious freedom, but in reality there is no religious freedom whatsoever.
Worshipping in public or private, carrying religious material and speaking about religion is not legal,
and can result in systematic torture and imprisonment. There are an estimated 400,000 Christians in
North Korea, of whom 40,000 are estimated to be held in prison camps. If one member of the family
is discovered to be a believer the entire family is arrested and punished, often put into prison camps.
Prison camps basically work the prisoners to death, through starvation and physical exhaustion. The
solution that the North Korean Christians long for is that all North Koreans will become Christians,
but they do appreciate the pressure the international community applies on the North Korean
government (Class 2009).
My Own Experience Why bother worrying and writing about religious persecution, Canadian citizens
are not persecuted for their religion? Because humankind is one, there should be justice for everyone.
And yes, it is true that in

Analysis Of In Praise Of Margins
American writer and humorist, Ian Frazier in In Praise of Margins reflects on his childhood life. While
also realizing how margins helped cope with his daily life. When Frazier and his friends would escape
to the woods, they were able to enjoy doing insignificant activities without any consequences. In
addition, marginal places and activities are valuable to humankind because it allows adults to use their
imaginations like during childhood. The purpose is to influence adults to taste the joy these marginal
places and activities bring which serves as an incentive to continue to contribute to society.
Contributing to society typically meaning to be constantly employed which then allows an individual
to purchase goods and services. While this may be true to contribute to society may likely mean to
have new and innovative ideas that further improve people s conceptual skills. Frazier s attitude
towards the value of marginal places and activities is relatable because he himself had forgotten the
importance of margins until reminded of them. Margins often seen as the space around the paper that
is there as a guide to not write beyond that point. However, Economists say, thinking at the margin
which simply means to let go of the past which cannot be changed and take a step forward. Marginal
places and activities are key for people to be themselves and grow as a person. Marginal spaces and
activities are needed to help escape daily routinely responsibilities that are present in everyone s life. A
marginal place or activity is important because it allows people to be imaginative, innovative,
unstressed and themselves but in the economic world, it is being lost.
Marginal places and activities have a great value to Frazier because the place he discovered as a child
is now lost because as he entered adulthood he started seeing these places and activities as a waste of
time. According to Frazier, The margin is where you can try out odd ideas that you might be afraid to
admit with people looking on. (305) Marginal activities and locations allow an individual to discover
one s true passion without any other influences. This is an important idea because everyone
occasionally needs to liberate from

Assessment
E.L. is a 36 year old female who has presented with a chief complaint of vomiting, diarrhea,
abdominal cramping and sharp adnominal pain rated 7/10. The patient is a geriatric nurse and states
that she was in close contact with patients who had similar symptoms. The patient denies taking any
medication, denies allergies, reports childhood illnesses gastrointestinal amoebas, and is up to date
with vaccinations. Family history indicates that the patient is at increased risk for developing heart
disease. The patient denies any previous or current tobacco use and reports drinking alcohol socially.
The patient is married with 4 children and denies that immediate family members have or are

Differential diagnoses important to consider are appendicitis and irritable bowel syndrome.
Appendicitis is an acute inflammation of the appendix and is often missed by clinicians (Cox Sovak,
2015). In this case, appendicitis is unlikely as the patient does not display signs and symptoms
indicative of appendicitis. During the physical exam the McBurney s point, Rovsing s sign, Obturator,
and Psoas all yielded negative results. Also, E.L. is complaining of pain to the hypogastric area and
denies pain specifically located in the right lower quadrant or rebound tenderness. These findings do
not support a diagnosis of appendicitis. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a motility disorder of the
gastrointestinal tract causing intermittent nausea, abdominal pain relieved by defecation, abdominal
distension, flatulence, and diarrhea (Goolsby Grubbs, 2015). Although E.L. has several of these
symptoms, a diagnosis of IBS is unlikely for many reasons. The patient s symptoms are attributed to
contact with an infectious person indicating an acute illness. This makes IBS less likely because, IBS
is characterized as a reoccurring illnesses with relapses. IBS is also unlikely since the symptoms are
often triggered by meals and in this case the patient attributes symptoms to being in close contact with
individuals displaying the same symptoms. Also, the patient denies eating

Created By Erik Ziel Analysis
Argumentative Essay: Created by Erik Ziel, 1/10 18/17, per. 2, at Silver Hills Middle School.
Education is necessary but yet many people don t have access to it. This argumentative essay is about
how people are lucky to have an education and that it is needed. First of all, many kids dislike school,
but it is a very important part of one s life and is necessary to be successful (claim one). My second
claim is that many parts of the world don t have education, and even less classrooms. Last of all, even
though that have a education most of the time it is not proper because of the fact they can t pay to have
a proper education (Claim three). First of all, many kids dislike school (I know because I am in
school), but it is a very important

Miss Skeeter s Transformation In The Help
The Help by Kathryn Stockett is a excellent example of how everyone has the potential to take a stand
and discover their untapped inner strength, it just depends whether or not they re willing to risk
everything in return. Miss Skeeter, a young, reluctant society lady illustrates this concept throughout
the novel as she grows from a shy duckling to a strong, confident women in 1960 s Jackson,
Mississippi.
At the beginning of the novel, Miss Skeeter is utterly ambivalent. She isn t sure whether to blend in
and follow the popular opinion or speak what s really on her mind. Miss Hilly is informing the bridge
club of her new plans for the Home Help Sanitation Initiative. It would require all Mississippi families
to build outdoor bathrooms for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Miss Skeeter decides to publish the Home Help Sanitation Act, but with one small addition towards
the bottom of the article. She tells the readers to drop off their used, broken toilets in Hilly s yard
while she and her husband are away for the weekend. Later, Hilly returns to her yard filled with rusty
old toilets and needlessly to say isn t amused. Miss Skeeter done printed Hilly s toilet announcement
in the newsletter alright. The list a them reasons why white folk and colored folk can t be sharing a
seat. And then, below that, she follow with the alert about the coat drive too, or at least that s what she
was supposed to do. Stead a coats though, it say something like Drop off your old toilets at 228 Myrtle
Street. We ll be out of town, but leave them in front by the door (Stockett 240). It took a lot of courage
for Miss Skeeter to make such a bold move. She went from being too scared to even contradict Hilly
in private to having the audacity to pull off such a risky stunt without a second thought. Standing up to
Hilly at the benefit gave her the final confidence boost she needed. By the time that she printed it, she
had grown numb to all of the embarrassed stares and whispers that inevitably arose when she entered a
room and sacrificed what little leverage she still had in Jackson to make things

Rhetorical Analysis Of Heroes By Tim O Brien
In Tim O Brien s Heroes, an eloquent speech delivered when he received an accolade, he tells a story
about a man named Elroy Birdall, the caretaker of some old yellow cabins along the Rainy River, who
took care of him for six days in the summer of 1968, during the Vietnam War. As he gives his speech,
he states that Elroy was a hero; more of a hero than the all stars. Due to his elaboration, we can see
that his message of heroism is that superior heroes are often unspoken, and he does this with figurative
language and compare contrast techniques. Throughout the speech, O Brien provides us with much
detail about Elroy, using imagery and similes. Despite Elroy being a plain 80 year old man, O Brien
describes him in such a way that brings light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to push his argument further, he links many negative adjectives and adverbs to the player. For
instance, O Brien says that the player is not even an all star who goes out to give speeches, but a
player who needs to go on TV to elucidate why he can t stop striking out (277). He does this to argue
that our average people can be more heroic than eminent baseball players and celebrity writers. He
redefines bravery when he makes the comparison between Elroy and himself. He says that Elroy was
brave for making his own choices, instead running from them, like he did, by saying that Elroy was a
hero, while he wasn t for going to Vietnam (278). He shares the negative adjectives of the baseball
player and of himself, a top writer, to prove that Elroy is a hero, and not all heroes need to we well
known. In addition to this, he compares Elroy with Abraham Lincoln s quote of you can fool some of
the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can t fool all of the people all
of the time (277). O Brien argues that this quote by Lincoln did not apply to Elroy by saying that there
should have been an extra clause in the statement to account for Elroy, because Elroy hardly ever got
fooled (277). While Elroy does not fit the stereotype of the big, strong, muscular hero, he fits another

The Gangster Genre of Films Essays
The Godfather is the most revolutionary gangster film of all time, it rewrote the gangster genre in such
a stylized way that all latter gangster films have conformed to this genre but also evolved it as films
have progressed.
Directed by Francis Ford Coppola The Godfather re invented the gangster genre elevating it to a
Hollywood status and making it commercially profitable. It looks into the life of the Corleone family
and represents America at that point in time. It portrays the violence and power, corruption and justice,
honour and obligation apparent at that time.
Previous to The Godfather s release the American Dream was born, to idealists America was the
country of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All gangster movies have been judged by the standards of this one, it has a very strong script that is
well plotted, although at times difficult to understand.
Two other gangster directors are Quentin Tarantino, famous for many films but Pulp Fiction stands
out, and Guy Ritchie, the writer of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels . and Snatch . Both of these
writers have been influenced by The Godfather , its stereotypes, plots and gangster families, and
although both writers have both influenced the genre in their separate ways, neither of them have
made quite the impact that The Godfather did. However, Pulp Fiction adopted a large cult status, it
became increasingly popular and became a Hollywood blockbuster, it did in its own re invent the
gangster genre regarding the association of humour and the subversion of the original Godfather
genre.
Tarantino made Pulp Fiction in 1994 and it was regarded as innovative and different, he plays around
with the timeline of the three inter connecting storylines that leaves you dazed and confused, but
strangely satisfied. Tarantino manages this by introducing the protagonist of each story in the previous
story, either as a minor character or a stock character.
This gives you the impression that you have

The Ideals and Philosophies of William Edward Burghardt Du...
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was born on February 23, 1868, in Massachusetts where he
stayed to earn his Ph. D in History. Although growing up in the more tolerant North, Du Bois realized,
at an early age, skin color will always be an issue. His dedication and love of learning empowered him
with the feeling that through education it would one day be possible to breach the color line. His
position as a Harvard graduate and his love for education meant that he was able to travel throughout
the country to study exactly what the United States are even writing that he touched the very shadow
of slavery (Monteiro 2010). He gained invaluable knowledge and with this he began to teach what he
had learned. Immediately he began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, develop an intellectualist black culture. By doing these two things, African Americans would
be able to slowly undo the scar of slavery that perforates American life. According to Du Bois,
capitalism is doomed to self destruction....communism....this is the only way of human life (Monteiro
2010). He applauds the fact that capitalism has brought jobs to the African American Southern
population; however, upon closer inspection, these jobs prevent their culture and influence from
spreading. A typical black Southern worker could expect to work longer hours and receive less pay
than their white counterparts. They were given the dirtier and more dangerous jobs as well. There was
almost no room for promotions and they lived with the constant fear of being fired. Simply put, the
rich, white elite have use capitalism create a new type of slavery: financial slavery which has been
failing the Blackman. After writing capitalists pay some workers enough to subsist on, but capitalists
also pay many more workers less than what they need for survival, (Rosenthal 2002) he determined
the African American community would need to create its own system of ethnic based communism.
Communism, for the African Americans in the United States, would be the answer to capitalism s
failures and it would allow blacks to start businesses and industries that would allow blacks to
advance themselves economically (Franceschi 2000). Du Bois did not argue for full scale

  • 2. Radar During World War I During World War I battles were fought using ears and eyes. This was due to the fact that there was no such thing as radar. By the late 1940s, Britain and United States researched and developed radar systems for themselves to use during World War II . Today, radar is one of the most prevalent equipment devices used in the military, especially on naval ships. Radar is so detrimental to the navy because it detects invisible or distant objects by means of reflected radio waves and is capable of locating them accurately in space . Using this method, radars are able to scan for and, or track targets that, again, are too far for the human eye to see. With the AN/SPQ 9B, a ship is able to do both; in fact it can track while scanning. The track while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. America Is The Land Of Immigrants Essay America is the land of immigrants. This was the first thing I ever heard about the supreme global power of the 21st century, and my definition of immigration has been expanding since then. Being an immigrant myself, I had the opportunity to gain several first hand experiences in the processes of migration and assimilation in a host society. Although the benefit of being a second generation migrant eased my transition than that of many first generation migrants, the culture I brought with me from India, my home country, did not fail to shape my life in the US. Culture implants moral values in one s personality directing the cognitive pathways towards decision making, which ultimately influence life goals and attainment of those goals too. This influence of culture is conspicuous in the differences observed in the realizations of the American dream among different ethnic groups, representing different cultural backgrounds. In this ethnography, I take a deeper look at the migration perspectives of a first generation Indian migrant to the US named Krishna, who was able to achieve the American dream. Belonging to one of the most successful immigrant groups in the US, i.e. the Indians, Krishna possesses a relatively positive stance towards his migration experience compared to the most immigrant stories of suffering that come to the limelight in the society. Growing up in India in the 1970s: a post colonial society with increasing rates of emigration, Krishna always desired ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I wish I had an elaborate story as to why i m so attracted to the Gemini constellation, but truth be told, Gemini is my favorite because i m a Gemini! The Gemini constellation was first discovered by Ptolemy, a 2nd century AD astronomer. Gemini means Twins in Latin. Without a telescope, it is made up of 85 visible stars. The bordering constellations are Lynx, Auriga, Taurus, Orion, Monoceros, Canis Minor, and Cancer. The myth that belongs to the Gemini constellation goes a little something like this. There once were two twin brothers named Castor and Pollux, together known as Dioskouri. Their mother s name was Leda, but there were two fathers. Castor s dad was Tyndareus, the king of Sparta, and Pollux s dad was Zeus, father of God s and men. Leda was married to Tyndareus, but was seduced by Zeus. Castor and Pollux were very close. Though there are restricted innovations in the gaming industry, the speed of technological transfer is very high. Nintendo s role from playing cards to toys to video games and then with each console introduced, included many technological changes. Technological up gradation increased hardware costs and discouraged innovation. The online capability of Nintendo Wii was a major change in the technology of the video game industry though they were not able to do as well as their competitors (Sony, Microsoft). • 8. A Brief Note On Canada And The United States Essay Accessibility About 80% of Canadian claims that they have a family doctor and 64% of the population claim to have a dentist. In another word, the healthcare in Canada is considered to be highly accessible. Unfortunately, the system does have its flaws in situations such as the aboriginals, the people with disabilities, and for the populations that lives outside the urban areas have less accessible healthcare providers. For many instances, the dweller of the rural and reserves areas would have to travel for hours to find a clinic and for others it is simply not available. Compare to Canada, in the USA, healthcare is currently not accessible to all Americans but only to certain societal groups that are less fortunate. It is estimated that by 2019, the uninsured population in the States may increase to 65.7 million people, or 23.2% of the population. The U.S. population has a constant stable growing rate, which means the U.S. healthcare systems will have to provide for an even larger population than it already has. The U.S. population is expected to increase by 325 million by 2020; the population will increase by about 20%. All this to say that it is crucial that America tries to make healthcare more accessible and available to the entire population not solely to the indigents and seniors for the better of the society. If this situation is not resolved, it will only cause more deficiency in the American healthcare system and making the situation worse than it already is. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each situation is different It should be noted that different situations will create different standards and requirements as it pertains to searching and individual or property. As an example, there is the exigent circumstances clause. This clause states that it there is a reasonable likelihood of physical harm to the officer or others or there is a reasonable expectation that evidence is being destroyed or a suspect is escaping, there is no need for a warrant to conduct the search (Busby, 2017). An Examination Of The Newtonian Method Connor McCourt Mr. Fisher Junior Mathematics November 15, 2015 An Examination of The Newtonian Method The aim of Isaac Newton s Principia is explicitly stated in his preface to the reader: His desire is to reestablish natural philosophy; to show how philosophers can employ various mathematical and experimental methods to phenomena in order to reach conclusions about nature, particularly about the motions of solid bodies. Through the utilization of geometry to describe celestial firmament, he wishes to accurately demonstrate mechanics with a direction guided by the foundations of geometry. This preliminary framework expresses that forces are proportional to mass and to acceleration. Since mass or the quantity of matter and acceleration are both quantities that can be measured, it seems Newton gives the reader a means of measuring the forces that are to governed the natural world. If one begins to treat forces as measurable quantities, then one can endeavor to identify two ostensibly discordant forces as a single, compounded force through thinking of them as measurements. It is this move by Newton that appears to be revolutionary in a world that solely treated material bodies with properties like size, shape, mobility and solidness. For example in proposition one of book one, gravity presents itself as a kind of centripetal force, or impressed force on a material body. Thus the body moving in a straight line will continue to do so until it experiences a gravitational pull (seen in the body s movement from point B to C, C to D etc.) in which case it will diverge from a straight line motion produced by its inherent force. (B to c) Indeed, the gravitational pull might originate with various masses in various circumstances, manifest as various entities and the forces present at hand may be different with movement to movement of the body. As long as one is measuring these forces by looking at the relationships of same kinds that exist in the phenomenon examined, the geometry utilized for describing the proportionality between ... • 13. Security, The Big Picture 1. OBJECTIVE: Security, the big picture A secure enterprise , big or small, should have an approach to security that is comprehensive and end to end if it is to be effective. Most organizations do not have such policies and practices in place. There are some good reasons for this; security clearly comes at a cost. This cost can be measured not just in dollars, but also in complexity, time and efficiency. To make things secure, it is necessary to spend money, perform more procedures, and wait for these procedures to complete (or perhaps involve someone else). The reality is that true security programs are difficult to achieve. It is usually necessary to choose a schema that has a certain amount of cost and an understood amount of security coverage. (This is almost always less than comprehensive and end to end .) The point here is to make educated decisions for each aspect of an overall system and to consciously employ more or less in a calculated fashion. If one knows the areas that are less protected, one can at least monitor such areas to determine problems or breaches. 2. SCOPE: Knowing the network It is not possible to protect anything unless one clearly understands WHAT one wants to protect. Organizations of any size should have a set of documented resources, assets and systems. Each of these elements should have a relative value assigned in some manner as to their importance to the organization. Examples of things that should be considered are ... However, the term has a slightly different meaning when it comes to payment of business owners. There are many options on how business owners can be paid, but the options are based on the business entity election. Business owners of sole proprietorships and partnerships do not receive a real salary; instead they receive profit distributions from business operations. The first major source include the services performed by the shareholder (i.e. administrative tasks daily business tasks) in which require compensation to be awarded from distributed profits. The second and third major sources include acquired profits from non shareholder employees as well as equipment and capital added to the business. The profits that are distributed from these sources are indirectly created within the business and are to be distributed as compensation and dividends (S Corporation Compensation and Medical Insurance Issues 2016). The IRS knows that business owners are not keen on paying taxes, so they have put together a list of rules to make sure that business owners are compensating themselves. One of the biggest advantages of electing the S corporation status is being able to take a salary as well as distribute profits to shareholders. However, determining the amount of the business owner s salary can be problematic. Since Mr. Jones and Mandy are going to take salaries of $180,000 and $70,000 respectively, the IRS is not going to notice red flags. Another key point is that profits should be divided in a way that salaries are more than distributions. • 20. The Sociological Analysis Of Alienation In The Office The Office is a popular comedy show that originated in the UK and ventured into the U.S. It is popular among mostly millennials but can be cross generational because of the different cohort groups that are represented in the show. The run down is that it s a mockumentary about a mediocre paper company called Dunder Mifflin and the workers that cohabitate within. With Michael Scott being a kind, lenient yet socially unaware and naive branch manager also having an extremely wide variety of personalities coexisting in this primary social agent the episodes never fail to entertain. Another strong sociological concept I pondered upon while watching any episode was gender biases. Sociologists have studied differences between gender and have come to the conclusion that men and women tend to make up majority of the jobs on the opposite side of the job spectrum. For instance, men typically obtain jobs that express power, and decision making, such as manager, sales rep, or a doctor. When women mostly occupy jobs that are emotion driven and require more emotional labor, such as social workers, nurses, and receptionists. The Office reflects this idea because Pam Beesley is the receptionist and is the first face you see when walking into the office. Pam has great emotional labor and she shows it throughout the series by smiling at people even when she has gone through a divorce as well as when her parents were going through a divorce. In the episode Dream Team Pam leaves the office to start her own paper company (Yay for Pam transcending gender norms in the work force!) which leaves Kevin to fill in as receptionist. Factors cited included the contested results of the 2000 election, the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks on the twin towers, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, the financial crisis, Detroit s collapse, and revelations about human rights violations at the military base in Guantanamo Bay. In Volume 1 of the revised edition of the letters Patrick Query describes how T.S. Eliot felt so much passion for culture and how it must improve (Letters, Volume 1). In the volume, the writer states Eliot started a movement to modernize literature all on his own. Eliot contained such a strong passion for making the world a better place, that as society generally acted apathetically towards life, Eliot strived for a culture where people actually inserted energy and passion into life (Poetry Foundation). Also, in John Worthen s biography of T.S. Eliot, the author believes Eliot focused the entire masterpiece of Four Quartets on illustrating to his audience despite painful times in life, people must focus more on the beauty of life (Worthen). After addressing the aspects of society he believed needed to improve, Eliot wrote several poems on each topic which showed the beauty of his opinion and a more joyful culture. A part of this passion is being aware of a host of small things that many people would find insignificant; animals, frogspawn and all the noises of life around him. This changes in the second stanza. The poet has a change of heart and he seems to retreat from the nature he previously loved. The unknown artist s deliberate use of size, material, scale, style and content, together with the sculpture s original setting, reflects the politically driven agenda during the reign of Ashurnasirpal II. After one takes in the armed and protective aura of the Winged Being, the eyes are struck by the the very detailed workings of his hair and beard. His thick, curly and luxuriant hair suggests the kind of hair that only the most virile of men posess. This human aspect of the winged being serves as way to reflect the kings own power and virility. In terms of the object s anatomy, one notices the markings that are inscribed over the area that encompasses the space directly above his left knee and below the top of the sword in his right hand, spanning the full width of the sculpture. These markings are actually text and is a form of writing technique called Cuneiform. The same text that is on Relief of A Winged Genius also appears on other reliefs within the palace walls. The inscription tells of the story of the kings lineage, his military victories, how he founded Kalhu (present day Nimrud, Iraq) and built his palace. These inscriptions are a perfect example of political propaganda which purposely highlight the kings skill and accomplishments. Considering the artist s choice of medium, form, and content, it s clear that he or she chose their elements very carefully to convey a message of power, strength, and permanence to the intended viewer at the time. It s clear that this artist was comissioned by Ashurnasirpal II ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Lord Of The Flies Civilization Analysis Within any civilization, there are multiple key components required in order to create a functioning society. As explained through Lord of the Flies by William Golding, these pivotal building blocks of a civilization can play a great part into bringing a group of people to society, or drag them all down into savagery. The conch shell is an excellent example of political legitimacy and democratic power. Although, while this device can be used for good; providing others with order and sanity, it can also be used for the utter destruction of a civilization. The conch shell in Lord of the Flies by William Golding begins as civilization and order, becomes the fragility of power and influence, and concludes with the collapse of any civilized thoughts. Civilization and order can be found within every society, and this is no exception within the group of boys in the beginning of the novel. Throughout the exposition of the story, governance over the group of boys was unknown. No order was established to influence the boys to cooperate and fulfill the needed tasks to get off the island. Although, there was a stillness about Ralph as he sat that marked him out: there was his size, and attractive appearance...yet most powerfully, there was the conch. The being that had blown that, had sat waiting for them on the platform with the delicate thing balanced on his knees, was set apart (Golding 22). The conch shell was able to control and demand a large audience. It provided Ralph with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kennedy spoke these famous words: tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one s own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others (1930). Nowadays the issues of tolerance, oppression and persecution are still relevant, especially with regard to religion. Even though globally and nationally religious restrictions are increasing, without most Western people s awareness, there is hope for an increase in religious freedom in the future. In the PEW research North Korea was not included even though it is the most religious restrictive country because the researchers did not have access to the specific, timely information needed for their research (Pew Research Center 2012). Kim Jong II dictates the country, and demands god like obedience from all the country s citizens. The government sponsored some religious groups to give the appearance of religious freedom, but in reality there is no religious freedom whatsoever. Worshipping in public or private, carrying religious material and speaking about religion is not legal, and can result in systematic torture and imprisonment. There are an estimated 400,000 Christians in North Korea, of whom 40,000 are estimated to be held in prison camps. If one member of the family is discovered to be a believer the entire family is arrested and punished, often put into prison camps. Prison camps basically work the prisoners to death, through starvation and physical exhaustion. The solution that the North Korean Christians long for is that all North Koreans will become Christians, but they do appreciate the pressure the international community applies on the North Korean government (Class 2009). My Own Experience Why bother worrying and writing about religious persecution, Canadian citizens are not persecuted for their religion? Because humankind is one, there should be justice for everyone. • 42. Analysis Of In Praise Of Margins American writer and humorist, Ian Frazier in In Praise of Margins reflects on his childhood life. While also realizing how margins helped cope with his daily life. When Frazier and his friends would escape to the woods, they were able to enjoy doing insignificant activities without any consequences. In addition, marginal places and activities are valuable to humankind because it allows adults to use their imaginations like during childhood. The purpose is to influence adults to taste the joy these marginal places and activities bring which serves as an incentive to continue to contribute to society. Contributing to society typically meaning to be constantly employed which then allows an individual to purchase goods and services. While this may be true to contribute to society may likely mean to have new and innovative ideas that further improve people s conceptual skills. Frazier s attitude towards the value of marginal places and activities is relatable because he himself had forgotten the importance of margins until reminded of them. Margins often seen as the space around the paper that is there as a guide to not write beyond that point. However, Economists say, thinking at the margin which simply means to let go of the past which cannot be changed and take a step forward. Marginal places and activities are key for people to be themselves and grow as a person. Marginal spaces and activities are needed to help escape daily routinely responsibilities that are present in everyone s life. A marginal place or activity is important because it allows people to be imaginative, innovative, unstressed and themselves but in the economic world, it is being lost. Marginal places and activities have a great value to Frazier because the place he discovered as a child is now lost because as he entered adulthood he started seeing these places and activities as a waste of time. According to Frazier, The margin is where you can try out odd ideas that you might be afraid to admit with people looking on. Differential diagnoses important to consider are appendicitis and irritable bowel syndrome. Appendicitis is an acute inflammation of the appendix and is often missed by clinicians (Cox Sovak, 2015). In this case, appendicitis is unlikely as the patient does not display signs and symptoms indicative of appendicitis. During the physical exam the McBurney s point, Rovsing s sign, Obturator, and Psoas all yielded negative results. Also, E.L. is complaining of pain to the hypogastric area and denies pain specifically located in the right lower quadrant or rebound tenderness. These findings do not support a diagnosis of appendicitis. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a motility disorder of the gastrointestinal tract causing intermittent nausea, abdominal pain relieved by defecation, abdominal distension, flatulence, and diarrhea (Goolsby Grubbs, 2015). Although E.L. has several of these symptoms, a diagnosis of IBS is unlikely for many reasons. The patient s symptoms are attributed to contact with an infectious person indicating an acute illness. This makes IBS less likely because, IBS is characterized as a reoccurring illnesses with relapses. IBS is also unlikely since the symptoms are often triggered by meals and in this case the patient attributes symptoms to being in close contact with individuals displaying the same symptoms. This argumentative essay is about how people are lucky to have an education and that it is needed. • 46. Rhetorical Analysis Of Heroes By Tim O Brien In Tim O Brien s Heroes, an eloquent speech delivered when he received an accolade, he tells a story about a man named Elroy Birdall, the caretaker of some old yellow cabins along the Rainy River, who took care of him for six days in the summer of 1968, during the Vietnam War. As he gives his speech, he states that Elroy was a hero; more of a hero than the all stars. Due to his elaboration, we can see that his message of heroism is that superior heroes are often unspoken, and he does this with figurative language and compare contrast techniques. Throughout the speech, O Brien provides us with much detail about Elroy, using imagery and similes. In order to push his argument further, he links many negative adjectives and adverbs to the player. For instance, O Brien says that the player is not even an all star who goes out to give speeches, but a player who needs to go on TV to elucidate why he can t stop striking out (277). He does this to argue that our average people can be more heroic than eminent baseball players and celebrity writers. He redefines bravery when he makes the comparison between Elroy and himself. He says that Elroy was brave for making his own choices, instead running from them, like he did, by saying that Elroy was a hero, while he wasn t for going to Vietnam (278). He shares the negative adjectives of the baseball player and of himself, a top writer, to prove that Elroy is a hero, and not all heroes need to we well known. In addition to this, he compares Elroy with Abraham Lincoln s quote of you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can t fool all of the people all of the time (277). O Brien argues that this quote by Lincoln did not apply to Elroy by saying that there should have been an extra clause in the statement to account for Elroy, because Elroy hardly ever got fooled (277). By doing these two things, African Americans would be able to slowly undo the scar of slavery that perforates American life. According to Du Bois, capitalism is doomed to self destruction....communism....this is the only way of human life (Monteiro 2010). He applauds the fact that capitalism has brought jobs to the African American Southern population; however, upon closer inspection, these jobs prevent their culture and influence from spreading. A typical black Southern worker could expect to work longer hours and receive less pay than their white counterparts. They were given the dirtier and more dangerous jobs as well. There was almost no room for promotions and they lived with the constant fear of being fired. Simply put, the rich, white elite have use capitalism create a new type of slavery: financial slavery which has been failing the Blackman. After writing capitalists pay some workers enough to subsist on, but capitalists also pay many more workers less than what they need for survival, (Rosenthal 2002) he determined the African American community would need to create its own system of ethnic based communism.
