go home and tell their families about it. They will spread their knowledge about the safety
guidelines when it comes to natural disasters, but to make them aware we must have a curriculum
for emergency preparedness included in the classroom lessons for the year.

I attended the Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle choir, Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells
on Temple Square. The event was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints
conference center building. The building holds approximately 21,000 people. This particular
musical performance was for Christmastime. Every year they feature a special guest. Usually it is
an famous American singer or story teller, but this year it was more of a cultural experience.
This year their guest was Ronaldo Villazon. Mr. Villazon was born in Mexico city, and is know
for one of the most unique and compelling tenor voices today. He brought a very different flare to
this performance. This show is presented in December around Christmas time. All of the songs
sung, and reading that were read had to do with the Christmas season and Christ. Many familiar
songs were sung and played by the orchestra such as I Saw Three Ships, Carol of the Drum,
Miniature Overture from the Nutcracker, We Three Kings, Holidays at Home and more. Rolando

So needless to say (in my opinion) Hans Zimmer does excellent work however for Thin Red Line I
feel he did ok work. The score was generic to a war themed movie, such as We Were Soldiers,
Saving Private Ryan and Red Tails. While Thin Red Line s score was definitely better then Red

We receive enough precipitation that allows us to store water in reservoirs that can last year
round. The local area and surrounding towns contain several lakes which provide water for

In Catch 22 and Captain Corelli s Mandolin, both authors suggest the unsettling idea that life holds
no universal conclusion because in actuality life is the continual clash of absolutes and therefore
refuses the reader the comfort of closure . Both novels handle the difficult subject of war using
similar postmodernist techniques to display it, such as fragmented narratives. However their
intentions and ideas of war are extremely different creating interesting comparisons.
De Bernier s novel, Captain Corelli s Mandolin, published in 1994, but set during the second world
war, is composed with multiple narratives, far from the omniscient narrator often found in 19th

When considering war we believe there is a good and a bad side, in the Second World War most
would conceive the Nazis to unequivocally be the enemy and therefore immoral. Perhaps this is
why the chapter The Good Nazi , in Captain Corelli s Mandolin, immediately unsettles the reader
as there is no irony in this statement. De Berneires presents Gunter Weber full of innocence and
as someone who has simply absorbed the propaganda of the Nazis. We see his innocence portrayed
in The Good Nazi ; Weber was a twenty two year old man and had never seen a woman naked
before...Weber was a still a virgin . The simplicity of De Bernier s language here reflects the
simplicity of Weber as a character. Weber causes us to question the limitations of our own heroism
or our capacity to see beyond propaganda. It could be argued that rather than the good Nazi he
represents the ordinary Nazi, he accepts what the state has told him as that is the easiest path. By
presenting us with someone who is ordinary it unsettles the reader as it draws a bond between the
reader and the character. Rather than blaming and seeing him as monstrous and all the other
preconceptions society holds against Nazis, we instead see qualities of ordinary humanity and
