We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Evaluation Question Four
1. How did you use new media technologies in
the construction and research, planning
and evaluation stages?
A2 Evaluation Question Four
By Rachel Picton
2. The Camera
The camera was used to film “Unknown”. Besides the obvious the camera
was used for multiple shots such as an establishing shot, long shots, close
ups, handhelds etc…We also used the camera to take photos while
filming, one of the photos taken with the camera is the same image used
for our final film poster.
3. Zoom Recorder
The Zoom Recorder was used to record sound effects such as
the knocking throughout our film. This helped as the knocking
gave atmosphere and tension to the film which without the film
would lack.
A Zoom Recorder was also used to record our RadioTrailer.
Given we only wanted the voice over to be recorded to edit
together with music and dialogue from the film itself.
4. Celtx
Celtx was used to write the script of our short film. Because of using Celtx it
meant we could present our script out in a professional way. This includes
dialogue, directions and prompts etc. Our script is also on our Blog as link to
the entire script of “Unknown”.
With the script publically accessible it helps if people want to know any
part of it or correctly quote a part of the dialogue.
5. Premier Pro
Premier Pro is what we have used to edit our short film. This allowed us to order scenes,
use colour correction where necessary and to place sound in the correct places.
For scenes we were able to use different cuts such as shot-reverse-shot. In one scene the
colour was slightly yellow which was made to look more natural through colour correction.
In terms of sound we have been able to add music and sound effects such as the knocking
heard in our film and let dialogue overlap shots, especially when wind was an issue with
one shot and not another.
6. Photoshop
Photoshop has been used as a way to create our own ideas for a poster for our film.
Each of use had to come up with our own poster ideas that links back to our films,
once this was done we could decide altogether what we did want on our final poster.
Also from seeing each others poster we were able to see who was best suited to
making our final poster on the whole while the rest of the group gave input as to
make it as good as possible for our film.
7. Blogger
To present our work and research for our short film we have a Blogger account.
This enables us to make post about what we have done, plan to do and how we
go about doing everything as well as show all our research with illustrations,
videos and links as well as text.
Our blog shows every post that we have done and who has written the post
along with who else of the four admins have been tagged in, this helps as to
show who contributed on certain posts and pieces of work.
A2 "Unknown" Blog
8. The Internet
Google- Google has been a useful tool for researching about films
to help bring our short film to life and for finding images to
illustrate our research. Google has given me access to research
films, composers, film posters etc. and so has helped greatly with
research for this film.
YouTube-YouTube has been used as a way to find videos and
music as research for our film as well as to show our final film on
completion. UsingYouTube has meant we can make sufficient
research into short films, title sequences, soundtracks and other
such things for our film. Being able to upload our film onto
YouTube also means we get a wider audience and will be able to
receive feed back for our film once finished.
IMDb- IMDb tends to be the best site to use for research into
films, especially for their plots/synopsises. It gives you a storyline,
cast and crew list, budget and have “bloppers” which tend to show
the common mistakes with continuity. This all helps when making
your own short films.
