WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT
FROM YOUR AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK?
During the process of making our film, every one in our
team had the opportunity to put their input and ideas
forward to how our film should be structured in every
aspect. Even though we was happy with our film idea, we
wanted to get the audiences perspective on it. Once we
made our final decision about our film, we wanted to our
target audience to make a comment about what they
thought about our story line. Therefore we made the
questionnaire so that people could answer questions on
our construction plans of the film and also gave them the
chance to suggest any improvements.
The purpose of Audience
Feedback?
We received around 4 to 5 responses, majority
of the individuals said many positive things
about our film, but they thought that the story
line was a little bit confusing, this allowed us to
go back and make the story line less
complicated. Furthermore we thought that it
would be better if we filmed the responses that
the audience gave us, as it allowed us to get a
more realistic and honest response as it was
conducted face to face.
What Improvements were
made?
This is the result of our questionnaire. We asked 4 to 5
results. We targeted students at Barnsley College as
they are our main target audience ( 16 and above). It
was very useful that we video the responses as we
could watch the video back and pick up on anything that
needed addressing. Furthermore it seemed that our
audience picked up the genre of our film ( psychological
horror) and thought that the age rating was suitable for
15 and above. This was very positive to hear.
This questionnaire was a crucial part of our pre
productive work, as it gave us the chance to the see
what appealed to the target audience, majority said that
even though they found our story line confusing they
really like the whole idea and would 100 % recommend
our film to a friend. They even added that they would
buy the film on DVD. Link of the video is below:

Video questionnaire
Majority of our feedback about our whole film was very
positive. We thought that it may be difficult to simplify
the tricky plot of our story to the audience. When we
asked our audience what improvements can be made
they informed us that the story may be hard to follow,
therefore me and my group started to come up with
ways that may, things such as effects and editing
techniques to help us make the film flow and to
decrease any confusions.
In Filming And Editing, How
Did You Ensure The Meaning
Would Be Apparent To The
Audience ?
After we had a rough cut of what our film was
looking like, we wanted to get feedback therefore
we thought that it would be best to post this on a
social network website so that this would enable us
to get feedback and to change anything that
needed changing. I posted it on twitter as well as
YouTube, even though we got no replies on
YouTube we got a comment on Twitter, about how
the story line could be more clear. This helped as
we were then able to add to our film and make it
more clear. We did this by adding voice over's in
places that we thought didn't make sense.
Rough cut of our Film
Once we did our final cut of the film, we took into account everything
the audience had commented back on and we came up with the
final cut of our film. By having the audience feedback we were able
to get a broader picture of how our film should be. For example in
one of the answers, it was stated that the story line may be hard to
follow, therefore in production we made sure we used good camera
work to get the shots that we needed as well as editing everything
together so that it made more sense. When we added the final
touches to our film, for example sounding and title sequence, we
knew that our film was finished, however we still wanted to see what
the audience thought about our finish product therefore we posted
this online on twitter and we got a comment back that stated it was a
good film. This is how we knew that we had improved from our last
rough cut film.
