Evaluation question 6
1. WHAT HAVEYOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROMTHE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTINGTHIS
PRODUCT?
2. Planning
• Before we began coming up with ideas for our own storylines we had to do
research on other films associated with psychological thrillers. For this I used
Wikipedia as it as full of useful and detailed information that we were able to
incorporate into our overall storyline. As well as this, I usedYouTube to watch
scenes and trailers of psychological films as it was able to physically show the
characteristics and how our film should look itself. This was very influential when
we were planning the production of our film as we thought more about
surroundings, sound and lighting.
3. Pre-production
• To create and write up our script we used Celtex. To begin with, the software seem
really complicated but after a while we found it easier to use ad this helped us a lot
as it as a starting point which we could refer back to.As well as Celtex, we used
StoryboardThat which helped use hugely as it created a visual as to what we
wanted our film to look like and alongside the shot list we made on Microsoft word
it aided us from the planning stage research as all the characteristics we
considered then (cinematography and mise-en-scene etc) were a lot easier to
bring to life on screen.
4. Production
• When filming, we used a Handheld Panasonic camera. This was the best choice for
our film as we weren’t restricted to using just a tripod, especially in our point of
view shots as they look more realistic hand held. As well as this, the camera itself
was small and easy to carry around to different locations. Although, when we
needed to shoot some scenes that had everyone from our group in, we found it
harder to do so. In addition to this, when editing our film we used Adobe Premier
Pro, an until we began to use it more often the software was quite intimidating
and frustrating to function. Despite this, we were able to use many different
effects (such as filters) to make our film appear more scary.
