How did you use new media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stage?
BLOGGER
In order for our 5 minute film to be made, we had to
gather information and www.Blogger.co.uk helped us to
put these information in to different blogs/ posts. We
used blogger frequently as it helped us to link back to
just one website with our posts, furthermore the website
allowed us to separate our independent work via tags
Blogger has allowed our work to become more personal,
as it gave us a choice of changing the format and adding
our film title “PURGORTORY” to the background, this is
very beneficial as it would allow people who would view
our blogs to distinguish which group we was and what
our film is. We have gotten more confident with using
blogger and it has been a useful tool throughout our film
making.
Rotten Tomatoes & IMDb
Throughout the year, we have had to do in-depth research
into other films with similar genres/plots/storylines/
characters, this gave us the right information as it showed
us what would be expected from these types of films.
Furthermore it helped us to see what types of feedback’s
the films that were similar to ours got from the mass
audience. This was very beneficial as it allowed us to get
an idea of how the audience may perceive our film and
what we should add more so that they would enjoy it. The
website that I frequently used was Rotten Tomatoes and
also IMDb, I believed that the two websites provided me
with in-depth information and enabled me to access
different media platforms
Celtex
After writing a rough draft of our script, we
copied into celtex, this was one of the main
tools that helped our script look more
professional and also made it easier to read
when we was shooting our film.
Social network sites
Social media is a big part of today's society and
we took advantage of this as; Social network
was a very important part of our film getting
advertised, it helped us to reach out to the mass
audiences and the group of people that we had
targeted our film for. We also posted a picture of
our script on twitter for our followers to read,
and to give us comments back on the things that
they like and don't approve of. This was helpful
as it made us tweak and change a few things to
improve our script and the whole film.
Adobe Photoshop Elements
This software allowed us to create our film
posters, so that we could advertise our film. We
was able to create our film logo for our fictional
production company. Furthermore this software
allowed our poster too look more professional as
it allowed us to add different effects and fonts, it
also endorsed us to collaborate our ideas and all
had a chance to take part in creating it.
Premier pro
Premier pro was a vital tool as it enabled us to
bring all of the shots that we had took and bring it
together via editing. It also helped us with; the
credits, sounding and visual effects. Furthermore
premier pro has allowed our final film to come
together and look professional, as this software
has many feature, such as different editing
techniques, audio transitions.
Free music websites
Websites that allowed us to access free music and sound effects
when we was editing our film. We found it very easy to download
music and uploading it to premier pro, this enabled us to edit the
songs that we had chosen into our film. By being able to access
free music websites, it helped us with our whole production of
the film, as I believe it made our film come together. Overall
sounding helped our film product to be more professional and
effective ,as it helped the audience to visualise and feel more
connected to our film. Theses are some of the websites that we
found useful.

Zoom recorder
We used the zoom recorder during our production of
our film, it helped us to record the characters voices
for the radio trailer as well as our film. We felt that
the recorder was very easy to use, it was quick and
very efficient. For example there was two dialogue’s
that were done with the zoom recorder, this helped
our film as it meant that the final product made
sense. We added the audio transition to the premier
pro, at first we found it hard working with the Zoom
recorder however after a while we found it easier to
use and would use again,
Camera/ Tripod
When we was producing our film, we used digital camera and tripods . We connected
the camera to the tripod, this was to ensure that it was stable and secure when
filming. Due to the fact that we had used these cameras and tripods in the first year, I
felt comfortable when I was given the chance to film. I was also more aware of the
different functions that the camera had, for example night vision, manual auto and
auto focusing. Whilst filming we ensured that we used manual focus button and
focused each shots individually to ensure good quality. Furthermore the tripod
enable us to make our shots look more sharp, for example we were able to do pans,
high/low angels and tilts. The tripod had handles that were retractable this meant
that when carrying our tilt and pan shots, they looked professional and not shaky.
Last year when we was filming, we only filmed the shots once, which meant that
when there was a mistake we had to redo a shot, this year we included more shots
even if they wasn't necessary, as it may have helped us more with the editing. For
example if a match on action didn't match up in different frames , or if a shot did not
look continuous , we took extra shots just for precaution.
