EVALUATION QUESTION 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
TARGET AUDIENCE
 We decided our target audience would be based around
young adults interested in psychological films, thrillers
and potentially aspects of the horror genre.
 Furthermore the main age group we targeted was young
adults of 18 years and over, this was because our film
contains some explicit language and ideas throughout the
story line that may be sensitive to younger viewers.
 Finally , we decided to aim for a film suited for cinema
goers for a fully immersive viewing experience.
PRE PRODUCTION RESEARCH
 We used the results we gathered from our pre production
questionnaire to rectify any mistakes or improve or piece overall.
 In response to the questionnaire we made the films 18 + as this was
the age group it attracted the most as 63% of respondents to the our
pre production questionnaire were 18 – 20. As well as that most
respondents assumed this would be the most appropriate certificate.
 Furthermore, we decided to finalise the genre of our film
as a psychological thriller because this incorporated the
results from the questionnaire as 20% preferred horror
films and 20% actions films , the rest falling under a
lower percentage or wouldn’t work well incorporated
with another genre.
 We decided it would be best to work with a distribution
company which could distribute the film online (as many
people preferred streaming) as well as have the opportunity to
go watch it in the cinemas.
 After obtaining our results, we decided the best way to move
forward would be to keep the storyline the same as many
people understood it clearly and expressed interest in
watching it if it were to become a film.
