Q4. Who would be the audience
for your media product?
An I.C.E Production
Who are our target audience?
Our target audience was aimed at older teens mainly 16
to 19 year olds.
We displayed that we wanted our age range to be 16-19
year olds in our presentation of our final idea which we
presented in front of our media class and some students
from the lower school.
We also suggested our Thriller to people who like
suspense and mystery because what Thriller is good
without suspense and mystery?
Why did we pick our target audience?
We picked our target audience of 16-19 year olds because we are in that age range and felt like we
could relate to our Thriller more if the victims and characters were the same age. By also having the
same age range as your audience it would also work as a key characteristic for our target audience.
By having the protagonist (the female victim) being a similar age to a majority of our target audience
it would make them able to relate to the characters in similar ways. Also having a male being a
victim at the beginning can also support males who get picked on or ‘stalked’ which would have also
widened our target audience.
The age range that we picked tend to like films a big build up because of the shocks which are
unexpected is what teenagers thrive off and makes them want to know more.
The research
Our research before our Thriller was to do a survey and
an audience research video which is displayed on our
YouTube (An I.C.E Production)
By doing two research tasks we got a lot of information
regarding what our target audience would like to see /
expect to see in our film. In the questionnaire we are
asked questions such as locations, actors etc.
