Questionnaire Analysis
This pie chart allows us to see
what range of ages we are
receiving responses from. This
insight will show what the
target audience enjoy and
what they would want to see
from our promotional package.
The majority of people that
took part in the questionnaire
were from the 15-17 age
bracket. This is the
predominant age bracket we
are targeting for our
promotional package. As this
age range is the major target audience for slasher films. As they feature people of the similar
age in the films.
This question was to see what are the audience's favourite horror sub-genre they have seen.
From the results we would be able to see what people's favourite is and what they would
most likely watch when deciding what horror film to watch. What we have taken from these
results are that the majority of people’s favourite sub-genre is Slasher. This has helped us
with planning our promotional package as it helped us nail on the idea of creating our
package from the slasher genre.
Questionnaire Analysis
This question is too gage how often people of the target audience watch horror movies. If
they watch them often they would most likely be big horror fans. From our results the
majority of people watch horror films at least once a month which means they must have an
interest in the films. Only 10% of people never watch horror films which is interesting as it
means the majority do watch them.
This question was to get a grip on whether people are influenced by promotional packages
to make them want to watch the film. 90% of people said that they were influenced by
promotional packages. This means that we know that the promotional package must be
influential in order to make the viewers want to watch the film. For this question we wanted
people to know what film it was that they were influenced by. As it would then allows us to
look at these promotional package and be able to take ideas and be influenced ourselves for
our own promotional package. With 10 of the responses saying ‘It ‘ influenced them we have
looked at everything that was involved in the films promotional package. This would give us
an insight in what they did and allow us to do something similar in our package.
Questionnaire Analysis
This question was to allow us to get an understanding of what would make them want to see
a film from a list of conventions provided. For this question we provided many conventions
including; jump scares; music/sound; weapons (props); sting; blood; lighting; costume and
narrative. From the results 75% of the response’s choice were jump scares with 50% being
music/sound. This suggests that viewers must be scared by these jump scares in order for
them to want too go see the film. As well the music/sound used must compliment the scares
used to create a strong fear factor.
For the final piece of our promotional package we have to create a film magazine front
cover. This allowed us to ask how often do you purchase film magazines as it would allow us
know what sort of readership they have. From the results the majority of people do not read
film magazines. However a small percentage do with 10% of people reading them once a
year and 5% of them reading once a month. This shows that film magazines must not be
that popular due to the results.
Questionnaire Analysis
This question is all about what features would entice readers into reading the film
magazines. For this question we gave them several options to choice from these included;
interviews with actors; information about up and coming films; film reviews; promotional
offers and exclusive backstage imagery. The results showed that film reviews were the most
popular with 80%. This will help us planning what will be the main feature sell line on the
front cover of our film magazine that we have to produce.
