 My questionnaire consisted of 10 questions
based around films and media consumption to
give me an idea about my target audience
 The questionnaire format (created using survey
monkey) is an effective method of collecting
data on preferences and opinions to allow me to
create a successful film campaign.
 After researching the demographic for popular
horror films such as saw, scream etc. I found that
teenage and young adult males are optimal for a
target audience

From the respondents, approximately 86% of them were male, mainly because I
directed my questionnaire more towards men as opposed to women because based on
prior research, horror movies seemed to be more popular among men so I was more
interested to find their preferences.

Similarly to the gender category I knew that horror movies are more popular among
teenagers and young adults however I was also interested in the opinions of those
somewhat older as they also hold a significant place in the audience of horror movies.

This question was set to assist the distribution process. These results confirm that online
movie viewing has a large presence even matched up against cinemas, therefore it only
makes sense to consider an online distribution of the horror film project to gain a larger
audience.

The general response is that movies are to be watched a few times a year. For the
distribution process this means that the movie should not be released within weeks of
popular movies that are bound to receive larger audiences.
 The results for this question were fairly
divided among comedy, horror, action,
drama etc. This means that there is an equal
place for horror movies in the film industry so
the audience should in theory be the same for
the production regardless of its genre.
 The most popular among the answers were
“The Revenant” and “Batman vs Superman”,
both of which are not included in the horror
however do incorporate a thriller aspect that
is very often shared with movies of the horror
genre
 This question was focused more towards the
themes that should be presented in the horror
movie production to be made.
 Psychological (thriller) horror films were found
to be the most popular between the
respondents, coinciding with the results from
question 7.
 It seems that “playing with the audience’s mind”
is a concept that successfully invokes fear in
viewers and one that I will be taking into
account.
