This document evaluates potential media institutions that could distribute a psychological thriller film. It is suggested that independent cinemas, film festivals like the British Film Institute Festival, and online streaming services on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube would be good fits. The document analyzes current films showing at local cinemas and determines they do not typically feature psychological thrillers. It is concluded independent cinemas and online streaming would provide the broadest reach and be best suited to showcase the film.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2. MEDIA INSTITUTIONS THAT COULD DISTRIBUTE OUR PRODUCT
• Our film could be distributed in a variety of different ways, there are many cinemas across the country that can show it.
But in a time where cinema numbers are dwindling it could be more worth while showing it on TV and possible on the
internet. E.g. Netflix, amazon prime, you tube.
5. CURRENT FILMS ON AT ODEON GUILDFORD (CONTINUED)
• At the moment at Odeon Guildford (January 2015) there are not many thriller films being shown at the moment. There is
only the one; The imitation game.
• This tells us that possibly Odeon Guildford is not the right place to show our physiological thriller. However we must take
into account the time of the year so film companies are unlikely to release many films, as people will not have much
disposable income after Christmas.
6. INDEPENDENT CINEMA’S
• Reading film theatre; this is an independent cinema which is based on the Reading university campus. It is mostly run by
volunteers and uses all its own equipment.
• On the cinema website it says that it shows the best films from around the world, it also says that it aims to airs at least
one foreign film a week.
• However looking at their current film it looks as though they also air some independent films which you might not find at
mainstream cinemas.
7. INDEPENDENT CINEMA’S
• Another independent cinema is; The Electric Theatre Guildford, this shows a variety of different films as well as many
independent films.
• This could be a good place for us to show our film because it does not only show the normal mainstream films that you
find at large cinema chains. E.g. Odeon. So as a result it may be more likely to have out target audience as our film what
can be considered as mainstream.
8. FILM FESTIVALS
• The Cannes Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres,
including documentaries, from around the world.
• It is one of the most prestigious and publicised film festivals in the world. The invitation-only festival is held annually at the
Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
• The festival shows a variety of different genre’s of films, it includes small budget films as well as the conventional big
films.
9. BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE (BFI) FILM FESTIVAL
• The BFI London Film is the UK's largest public film event, screening more than 300 features, it is in its 58th year, and is
run every year in October. The Festival showcases the best of world cinema to show; creativity, originality, vision and
imagination.
• The BFI festival shows a variety of different genres, they largely work towards supporting the British film industry, part of
they way they do this is extra funding for British films which are also given tax breaks.
• It shows a variety of different genres and lots of its winners are not what people would consider mainstream films.
• However saying that it offers a platform for some of the biggest films and it attracts the biggest names from cinema.
10. PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER'S SHOWN ON TV RECENTLY
• A physiological thriller that has recently been shown recently is; law abiding citizen (2009). This is quite a dark and violent
film in which a man seeks revenge on people who murdered his family.
11. PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER'S SHOWN ON TV RECENTLY
• A film that is going to be shown soon on TV is; The Silence of the Lambs on sky movies.
12. PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER'S SHOWN ON TV RECENTLY
• Another psychological thriller that has been recently shown on TV is Donnie Darko.
13. WHERE COULD OUR FILM BE SHOWN?
• The first place that our film could be shown is in the cinema, I personally think that our film would be better suited to an
independent cinema as it is not a type of film that is very common in mainstream cinema’s.
• However saying that it would probably be ok in a big cinema but I am not sure that it would attract the big audiences that
the big cinema's such as Odeon would like.
14. WHERE COULD OUR FILM BE SHOWN?
• To show our film at a festival I think the best festival to showcase our film would probably be the; British film institute
festival. Although there are bigger film festivals out there, e.g. Cannes. The BFI festival would be better suited for our
films, this is because it shows a variaty of diffrent genres and it is allways trying to support British films which our film
would be. This is a good thing for our film as most of our audience is likely to be British as it is a small scale producton
and it would struggle to compete against large Hollywood productions.
15. WHERE COULD OUR FILM BE SHOWN?
• If we were to show our film on television I think it would be best to show it on channel 4 (film 4), this is because it shows a
variety of different films including philological thrillers.
• I would choose film 4 over BBC because BBC does not show as many films so it may not offer as good a platform to show
our fill. The reason why film 4 would be better for out film than shy movies is that sky tend to concentrate on big
Hollywood films and other which have a high budget.
16. WHERE COULD OUR FILM BE SHOWN?
• In this modern era of film distribution it would possible be good to distribute our film through other methods. We could
distribute our films via; Netflix, Amazon prime and You Tube. Using these would increase our audience size as not
everyone goes to the cinema.
17. WHERE WOULD OUR FILM BE PLACED?
• Overall I think that our film would be best placed in independent cinemas, this is because they show small films and as
our film is not what you would commonly see in mainstream cinema.
• The other place we would show our film would be on internet providers. This is because they show a variety of different
films and genres and it is also where we are going to find most of our target audience 15-35. As this age range are the
most likely to use these websites.
