At 3:00 PM on Sunday April 13th, 2014, I attended the performance Shared Graduate Dance
Concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Dance Theatre. Walking into the theatre I
had anticipated experiencing an upright performance. This sensation came as I visited the website
for the Shared Graduate Concert and saw a breath taking photo that entailed a person behind a
curtain holding their hand up and a fuzzy person in front of a curtain. Also, I knew I was in for a
good ride after I saw Meghan Bowden in the pamphlet.
The temperament of the performance Canned Soup shook the audience out of their chairs. This
scene in particular stood out to me the most. The woman dressed in a just a bathing suit, a pretty
dark scene with only a beaming red light, and absolutely no music, obscured a unique type of

how the silver coin is hard to come by because the government is hoarding all of it. They take
silver for taxes but do not redistribute it to the people. He is writing this because he is trying to
convince the emperor to distribute the silver more appropriately to the people, and because his
family is obviously not doing well financially. He is a court official who most likely has small
influence in the government and writes in hopes of getting the emperor to consider spreading the
wealth to the lower classes of China, to save his family, and other families like his. Document 5
expresses a different, but somewhat related view about how silver has become a hindrance to
regular business interactions, because customers can no longer trade items of their own to
purchase goods, they have to go through a lengthy process to pay everything in silver. Document 6

The Romans constructed large and superb stone bridges in Rome. The first bridges were built
using stone blocks held together with iron clamps. The Romans then started using concrete since it
increased the durability and the strength of the bridges. Concrete was also utilized in the

The reality is that for young people today, it is harder to educate one s way into the middle class,
and college costs are leaving many in this generation without the credentials they need to thrive in

and language therapist s caseload (St Louis et al1993 cited in Crichton smith 2002) and speech

prehistoric cave art at Altamira was decorated between 13,000 and 14,000 years ago. It was first

horses, ibexes, and boar. The art features were so special; the uneven contours of the rock give the

Artists El Anatsui and William Kentridge both draw on geography to comment on global
transformation and time s passage in their work. New World Map, by El Anatsui, is dazzling due

metals, the piece is made of found liquor bottle tops linked and molded together. With the
dichotomy of the material and visual display, the sculpture exudes a joyful, yet calculating,
exclamation of freedom that engages viewers to evaluate global transformation. Ghanaian artist
Anatsui resides in Nigeria, where he specializes in sculptural pieces that emphasize transformation
