Homelessness Is A Growing Concern Within Our Country
Homelessness is a growing concern within our country. When families become homeless, the issues
presented are much more complex than losing a house. Often times, the children within the family feel
the greatest impact when their family becomes homeless. The solution for homeless families, if they
are not fortunate to find living arrangements with family members, is to place them in shelters or
motels. Although this solution may take the family off the street and provide the family with a roof
over their head, there are remaining concerns surrounding this approach. In Point Pleasant Borough,
between the two elementary schools there are fourteen homeless families. Most of these homeless
families are residing in hotels in surrounding towns. Despite having a roof over their heads, there are
numerous risk factors for these young children and their families. The hotels that these families are
residing in are low income institutions that house substance abusers. The exposure to substances
leaves the children open to the possibility of using themselves to cope with the stress of being
homeless. There is limited space within these hotel rooms, leaving the families with limited privacy.
Inadequate food due to limited income and proper food storage is an issue leaving the families at risk
for malnutrition. Hotels are not the cleanest facilities for individuals to reside. There is a risk of being
exposed to numerous illnesses. If an individual does become ill, recuperating

When manufactures/retailers put the word tactical in the same sentence with a knife or firearm or any
piece of survival gear they can raise the price. The word conjures up images in your mind, images of
SWAT teams, soldiers, and of tattered and gritty men, and woman taking the fight to the enemy. This
is why many retailers use props to sell their items. Camouflage is big today, and many retailers use it
to put pictures in your mind. There you are in a tactical situation covered head to toe, in tactical
camouflage, teeth barred, and the knife they want to sell you clutched in your teeth, and this of course
is the images they want you to see, so they can dip into your purse or wallet. Articles on survival and
even on prepping use the term tactical loosely, how to use a flashlight in a tactical situation,
communication in a tactical situation, noise discipline in a tactical situation and the list goes on. How
the word should be used however: How to gain a tactical advantage over the person or persons who

The Importance Of Privacy And Law Enforcement Essay
Twenty seven years ago, scientists at The European Organization for Nuclear Research created the
World Wide Web. Because of this, we now live in an interconnected world that has transformed the
way we communicate ( ), the way we do business, the way we live, and the way criminal activity takes
place ( ). Here in the United States where privacy and security are such an important part of our
national ethos, it is critical that our intelligence and law enforcement (LE) community confront the
dangers as well as producing new evolving tools, for both digital surveillance and data collection. I
believe privacy is important because it secures our nation from both internal threats and external
threats, as well as protecting our civil liberties; for without security, we cannot have privacy.
According to our literature, privacy is a common value, a public value, a collective value, and to some
extent, a positive and negative right. However, in times of national security, the relationship and
broader value are the sum of all three values. For instance, in the aftermath of the September 11,
20001 terrorist attacks, the idea that civil liberties had to be reduced in favor of national security
emerged with renewed vigor. Many have noted the paradox that security measures intended to protect
a liberal democracy can end up eroding the civil liberties at the heart of liberal democracies ( ).
Because of this, it is common to view this problem as a juxtaposition dealing with the appropriate

Advent Of The Sasanian Period
1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and
patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their
holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence
writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate
exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand
which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian
literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also
covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which
shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required
explanatory treatises. Moreover, Sasanian kings exorbitant sponsorship of Zoroastrianism brought the
priesthood endless political and financial power which enabled them to sponsor religious schools and
consequently promoted composition of religious works more than before.
2 After the downfall of Sasanian dynasty, Zoroastrianism s deprivation of administrative power, the
threat of religious conversion, the decrease in the number of priesthood applicants and defect in the
body of the Zoroastrian clerical system not only led to the expedition of religious texts copying but
also compelled the prominent priests

Classroom As Symbolic Representation In The Jade Peony
Classroom as Symbolic Representation Generally in literary works, author pick physical objects which
takes on a special significance in the work and becomes a symbols of something beyond itself. All
through the short story The Jade Peony , there have been numerous physical object that have been
turned out to be important all through the story. Wayson Choy utilizes the classroom as symbolic
representation of Ms. Doyle s class as a paradise, the future of students and how Ms. Doyle discipline
her students.
The Jade Peony uses the classroom to demonstrate the essence of paradise. For instance, during their
recess, Sek Lung talking about their weaknesses, recess, our dialects and accents conflicted, our
clothes, heights and handicaps betrayed us, our skin colours and backgrounds clashed, but inside Miss
E. Doyle s tightly disciplined kingdom we were all lions or lambs equals. We had glimpsed Paradise

class. (Choy p.391). Miss Doyle is not tolerating any bad attitude in her class, that s why she s being

during Miss Doyle class, in training us, she never hesitated to use her desk ruler repeatedly on our
burning backsides, nor was she slow to engage the leather strap on our stinging bare hands (Choy p.
392). She always want her student to be scared to her so that the student will focus to her and learn
and to make themselves discipline in any ways. She is just using the leather strap just to get the
students attention in the class. Therefore, Wayson Choy utilizes the classroom as symbolic

Senior Project
For Claudia Cifolelli s Senior Project, she provided service for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in
Kenya, Africa. This organization provides a safe haven for injured and orphaned elephants that have
been victims of the illegal ivory poaching throughout Kenya. In order to help raise money to fund this
organization, Claudia organized a silent auction containing art pieces related to wildlife made by
students and alumni from Natomas Charter School and other local artists. The money she made went
to the Medical needs of the Elephants in Kenya.
When Claudia asked me to participate in her senior project, i immediately said i would help her out. I
took a look at the other pieces that she had already received and i was amazed. Klaude s piece was by
far the my favourite. I then got to brainstorming ideas on how I can implicate wildlife animals into my

I would draw out the silhouettes of 4 Different animals and use different colors for each of the
canvases. I then ran across another problem, what animals could I draw and what colors should I use
to paint. I started to use the original sketches I had, a wolf and a deer, and started painting while also
mixing together colors that i thought would catch the viewer s eye ; and because i was fairly low on
paint, i had to use some of the paint from the painting of the wolf silhouette on the painting of the deer
silhouette. After I did the two paintings, I knew it wasn t finished. The two canvases I painted looked
too lonely. I needed to paint at least two more but i was stuck, staring at an empty canvas that was
waiting to be filled with colors. I started to sketch out an elephant, the main focus of this whole
project, and started to paint with more vivid and brilliant colors that caught my eye while i was mixing
paints. As I was painting the elephant I realized that elephants aren t the only wild animal who is being

Personal Narrative-Mother-Daughter Relationship
for the past three years, my uncle began to fight for custody and then the mom did not allow the child
any visiting. There are many reasons why he chose to fight for his daughter and they were personal,
but definitely reasonable. At first the daughter still agreed to come back for the summer and always
enjoyed her time. She would see her sibling, and enjoy camping. She never wanted to go back to her
mom and always cried when she had to leave. Recently, the mom began brainwashing their daughter.
The mom is extremely unhealthy and has chosen to do many inappropriate things which my uncle has
proof of. The mom always tells the little girl to be nasty towards her father when they talk on the
phone. She verbally spouts off words that an eleven year old should not even know, while my uncle
can hear the mother in the background telling hear what to say. ... Show more content on

court and holds an incredible amount of evidence why his daughter would be better off with him. I
wish him the best of luck when court approaches. This story had an enormous impact on my life and
made me realize how grateful I am for parents who stayed married. To me keeping a successful
relationship is very important, especially when children are involved. I believe there a many ways you

Lobbying is when special interest groups hire and pay a professional advocate to argue for specific
legislation in law making bodies such as Congress. It has been going on since the Country s inception
and happens at every level of government. Corporations do most of it, and usually target
congresspersons, but executive agency officials and US Supreme Court Appointments have been
included.

A Speech On Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is a term of two words: the first word is Nano and derives from the Greek word
Nanos and it means Dwarf or something very small. The second word is Technology and it means
applied application of knowledge in a certain field. So nanotechnology is the technology of very small
substances, and it specializes in treating the substance on the Nano measure to produce new, useful,
and unique resultants in its properties [22 23].The Nano is a unique measuring unit and from the
physical and mathematical point of view, the Nano equals one part of a billion of the measured unit.
The nanometer (nm) equals a part of a billion part of a meter. Thus, it is 10 9 of a meter. The Nano is
used as a measuring unit for very minute particles [24 26].

By changing the properties of the liquid phase (e.g. concentration, temperature, pH) adsorbed species
can be released from the surface and transferred back into the liquid phase. This reverse process is
referred to as desorption. Since adsorption is a surface process, the surface area is a key quality
parameter of adsorbents.
Engineering adsorbents are typically highly porous material with surface area in the range between
102 and 103 m2 /g. Their porosity allows realizing such large surfaces as internal surfaces constituted
by the pore walls. In contrast, the external surface is typically below 1 m2 /g and therefore of minor
relevance. As an example, the external surface of powdered activated carbon with a particle density of
0.6 g/cm3 and a particle radius of 0.02 mm is only 0.25 m2 /g.
However, adsorption is one of the promising methods to remove the dye pollutants from aqueous
system completely. It was, therefore, thought worthwhile to develop highly efficient and effective
adsorbents for the removal of dye from the textile

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks
The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, now referred to as 9/11, were a series of coordinated, well
planned suicide attacks that involved the use of hijacked passenger jets as a means of destruction . The
suicide bombers used the passenger jets as bombs, and ran into the World Trade Center Towers of
New York, the Pentagon, and a fourth plane that did not make it to its destination, hit the ground in
Pennsylvania. These sudden attacks came as a shock to the people and government of the USA. The
attacks affected not only the United States, but the entire world felt the aftershock of the event. It
specifically affected the United States economy and sent it on a downward spiral. It had a huge impact

265 people died on the hijacked planes, 2650 people died from inside the World Trade Centers, 343
firefighters died while trying to save others, and 125 people died at the Pentagon. Days after the twin
towers had collapsed people were still searching for the miracle of hope, that they would once again
find their loved ones alive. Amidst all the panic, it was hard for people to step back and realize that
there was a very slim chance that they would find the person they were looking for. The after effects
of the tragedy involved searching for bodies amongst the rubble of what was left of the World Trade
Center Towers and of the Pentagon. As people witnessed the first and second planes fly into the trade
centers, they saw the buildings shatter to pieces, and watched as people desperate to escape from the
peril jumped out into the streets below. It was hard to put all of these images behind them. These
images affect the way the human mind functions. Humans are a unique species, one that feels sorrow,
pain, and loss. The psychological effects of such trauma will affect people for the rest of their lives.
The effects of 9/11 did lots of damage as it tore the country apart over racism, but it also brought the
people of the United States together. Almost all Americans felt prouder than ever about the country
they lived in. Surveys showcased that patriotic feelings were higher than ever before among all ethnic
groups. People from all over America came down to New York and

The Water Crisis
Access to clean water is essential to overall human health and economic growth. Recent technologies
have made water access more universal, however there is still a large percentage of the world
population that lives without clean water. Nanotechnology is a promising field that may offer
sustainable solutions to the water crisis and allow the world to move toward universal access to clean
water.
Due to increasing demand for water, the world has been faced with a water crisis. The rising human
population and unsustainable environmental practices has made clean freshwater a rare commodity.
Developing countries are impacted the most by the water crisis. In the 20th century the global
population increased threefold and triggered a simultaneous sixfold increase in water use (Bogardi,
2012). Water usage has likely increased due to extended droughts, population growth, more strict
health regulations, and competing demands from a variety of users (Savage, 2005). Developed
countries like the United States have been able to keep up with the increasing water demands by
creating larger infrastructures and using legal means to regulate water consumption. However, many
developing countries lack the capital needed to create the infrastructures needed to provide clean
water. Additionally, developing countries often lack an impartial and efficient legal system that can
enforce water rights and water regulations. The water crisis has caused nearly one billion people to
live without access

Review Of Eric Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front
Death is not the only thing to come out of war. Eric Remarque wanted to show us the facts about war
and he did but he also showed us three things that happen in war with emotions. In this essay I will go
over three things that come out of war other than death which is betrayal, horror, and friendship. To
begin with, betrayal is a strong emotion that can lead to hatred and more emotions. Kantorek talks the
boys into joining the war because he thought that it would be fun and a good experience for them.
Another way of betrayal can be the unspoken kind like how when the boys first go to the front they
find coffins and they think that the government has little hopes for people to survive. The final way of
betrayal is physical betrayal like when the boys beat up Himmelstoss just because they did not like
how he treated them. For all those reasons is why I think that betrayal is a strong emotion that can
overwhelm someone with hate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Fast Food And The Food Industry
The majority of Americans enjoy fast food like bees enjoy their honey. Fast food is hard not to love
due to families experiencing fast paced days, parents who work more than 20 hours a week, and
having children with picky appetites can be rough. For most American families, it can be a challenge
to not consider eating fast food more than once a week. The fast food industry has grown
tremendously through the years. The one restaurant that is known all over the world for their golden
arches and their big macs is McDonalds. With knowledge and personal experiences, I can say that
McDonalds is by far the worst fast food restaurant in America. I believe this due to how unhealthy the
food is for our bodies, the disturbing facts about the happy meals, the poor service, and the non
cleanliness of the restaurant.
Fast food might be easy and cheap but people do not realize how harmful the food is for their bodies.
The problem is the food that is served at these types of restaurants, especially McDonalds, are high in
fat, salt, processed, and can have harmful ingredients included in the food. While home cooked food
takes time to plan and make people know what they are eating, that isn t the case at McDonalds:
McDonald s burgers retain its fresh appearance for a very long time. This can easily fool customers
who do not have a hint of this alteration in their burgers. The use of excessive preservatives is harmful
for your health which McDonalds seems to overlook for gaining more and more

Essay On APES 110
Comparing the FIA code of Ethics with International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants
APES 110
The APES 110 and the FIA code of ethics for professional accountants are more similar than different
even though there are a number of differences which is important. Nevertheless, this piece of writing
will focus mostly on the differences between the two codes of ethics, in a lot of cases, applying the
codes to similar information pattern will give in similar results. Furthermore there are some difference
and drafting conventions. For APES 110 it consists of three parts: Part A applies to all members. In

Professional accountants are required to comply with the fundamental principles of APES 110 code
and apply to the conceptual framework approach in order to determine their compliance with the
fundamental principles whenever they know that situation or relationships may compromise their
compliance. While the responsibility is on the professional accountant to do this, the bulk of APES
110 code of ethics explains how the conceptual framework works in specific situations, for example
when receiving gifts or other inducements form a superior may threaten corporate accountants
independence. (Catherine Allen, 2010). Like the FIA code, the APES 110 provides guidance for the
more ordinary but certainly not all applied situations. In all the other instance, once a threat is
recognized, the APES 110 requires a professional accountant to evaluate the significance of the threat
and if the treat is irrelevant, no further evaluation is required, or if the threat is relevant than consider
whether safeguards could eliminate or adequately reduce the threat to an acceptable level. Despite the
principles vs. rule argument, the APES 110 code of ethics does contain actually rules, in several
instance the code states that the threat are so significant that no safeguards can be functional to reduce
or eliminate treats to an acceptable level for example, an audit team member could not own stock in
his or her client and apply safeguards to ease the threat to independence because the APES 110 code
of ethics prohibits audit team members from investing in their clients. (Catherine allen,

The Subculture Of Violence Theory
The subculture of southern violence theory is just one of many cultural transmissions theories
discussed in Miller s text. Cultural transmission theories determine that the values, beliefs, and norms
of subcultures (deviant or no) contrast with the dominant culture. Therefore, it is possible for a
subculture to justify criminal behavior as normal or necessary when it comes to one s reputation and
self defense. Because the southern region of the United States is known to have high crime rates than
other regions of the United States and as a whole, the subculture of violence theory was hypothesized
by Wolfgang and Ferracuti during the late 1960s. Other researchers: Ball Rokeach, 1973; Erlanger,
1974; and Hartnagel, 1980 theorized what factors may be the cause of the high crime rates in the
southern region as well. This discussion will explore the implications of whether or not their findings
adequately support the existence of the subculture of southern violence theory. Wolfgang and Ferracuti
furthered the subculture of violence theory from the insights of cultural deviance theorists before
them. Basing their theorizations entirely upon inferences from available statistics on homicide at that
time, which illustrated a concentration of violent crime in primarily poor, racialized neighborhoods in
Philadelphia. Through these statistics, the authors deduce that subcultural violence is a uniquely
marginalized male phenomenon. Wolfgang and Ferracuti argue that violence is a

School Security Research Paper
Having good security in schools is becoming more and more of an issue in our society. School
administrations need a good way to keep track of students in many aspects of school. The government
gives money to schools and expects good and accurate records of their students. Schools are changing
rapidly. New technologies are being implemented everyday in our schools. Many schools around the
country are beginning to use biometric finger scanning in schools. It is cost efficient, affordable, and
accurate. When you think of biometric scanning, schools might not be the first thing that comes to
mind. Instead, you might think of a police station registering criminals. You may also think of the FBI
using finger prints to track down criminals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some types are facial recognition, finger print scans, and handwriting. Anything that is a part of you
can be used for recognition. Perhaps the most accurate and easy to use is the fingerprint scan. A
fingerprint scan scans the small pattern in the center of your finger. Your fingerprint is different from
every other person on the face of the planet. Even identical twins have different fingerprints.
Fingerprint scans are safe, fast, and easy to use. You will not have to worry about being misinformed
on your students. There is virtually no chance you will get the wrong information. The chance that a
student will get confused with another student is 1 in 200 million. An acceptable chance, no doubt.
However, you may ask yourself why would we use this fancy technology instead of PINs or
identification cards. Well, there are many downsides to these. PINs can be forgotten, swapped, or
stolen. Cards can be swapped, broken, or lost. It is a good thing that you cannot forget your
fingerprint! So why would schools use biometrics? Because they improve efficiency, operations, and
security. You can use it in virtually all parts of a school to insure students are always where they
belong. Once biometrics are successfully implements into one part of a school, it is often embraced in
other parts as

Adaptations And Applications Of Physical Extremes
Extremophiles: adaptations and applications to physical extremes
On the earth, millions of organisms live in various environments. They need certain temperature, pH,
nutrient growth, certain range of salt, pressure, water and so on. However, some organisms can live
beyond these conditions which mean they can survive in extreme environmental conditions called
Extremophiles (Gupta, Khare et al., 2014). These extreme environments are: highly pressure, acidic or
alkaline region, high temperature or extreme low temperature condition. These organisms have
different characterisation and biochemical mechanism for tolerating some environmental conditions
on the earth. They adopt to live in extreme condition by different enzymes or biomolecules. There are
different types of Extremophiles. For example, thermophiles, acidophiles, barophiles, radiophiles,
halophiles, xerophiles, osmophiles. There are two main types of extreme conditions: physical
(radiation, Temperature, pressure) and geochemical (pH, salinity). These microorganisms found in
various typical environments on the earth. Some grow in the deep sea where the pressure is very high
and some can survive in Antarctica, the place always having ice and glaciers. Extremophiles can
tolerate extreme conditions but also they have to need those environments for their growth.

Log(Attendance) = B1wins + B2FCI + B3tktprice + B4payroll + B5state + B6earnspop
In order to explain the effect that winnings percentage has on attendance, I have created an adjusted
economic model that I have specified above. In order to test my economic model, I have compiled
data for each of the variables specified in the model from the years 2003 to 2005.
The question that I will be answering in my regression analysis is whether or not wins have an affect
on attendance in Major League Baseball (MLB). I want to know whether or not wins and other
variables associated with attendance have a positive impact on a team s record. The y variable in my
analysis is going to be attendance for each baseball team. I collected the ... Show more content on

Payroll is another variable that I will be taking into consideration while doing my regression analysis.
I feel that payroll can have an effect on attendance if a team spends more money on popular players.
These players will be able to attract more fans to the games. Therefore, the more a team spends on its
players the more fans they will be able to attract. I will be obtaining this data from
www.baseballreference.com. The average payroll from 2003 2005 for a team was $70,974,000. The
standard deviation of this variable is $31,463,000. The minimum payroll was $19,630,000 and the
maximum was $208,310,000.
I will be using a dummy variable in my analysis that I feel can have an impact on attendance. This
variable is whether or not the team shares its state with another baseball team. There will be an
obvious negative effect on attendance if there is more than one MLB team in a given state. A zero is
going to represent a team that is the only team in their state and a 1 will represent a team who shares
its state with one or more teams. The data for this dummy variable will come from
www.rodneyfort.com/SportsData. The summary statistics here show a mean value of .70 with a
standard error of .4608.
Finally, the last variable that I will be using to relate winning percentage to attendance is the average
earnings of the population. I will be obtaining data based on

Current Indications for cEEG in SAH patients In 2015, the Critical Care Continuous EEG Task Force
of the Clinical Neurophysiology Society developed a consensus opinion regarding the use of cEEG in
critically ill children and adults.31 This panel of experts provides recommendations for critically ill
patients in general but can be extrapolated to SAH patients specifically. They recommend cEEG for
diagnosis of NCSz, NSCE, other paroxysmal event in patients with abnormal mental status following
an epileptic event and those with altered mental status and acute supratentorial brain injury (including

noted that the earlier studies relied on observing clinical relevant phenomena from overt seizure

question regarding seizure incidence needed to be addressed. In 2011, the long term follow up data

Who Is An Outsider In Othello
Throughout William Shakespeare s career as a playwright, many of his plays contend with the issue of
an outsider, whether as the focal source of tension that compels the plot forward or as a minor subplot
that is craftily interwoven into the framework of the entire play. This is a concept that is reflected in
Shakespeare s Othello and The Merchant of Venice. However, the word outsider must first be
considered in relation to each of Shakespeare s plays. For the purpose of this paper, an outsider is an
individual that is not wholly accepted within a particular group; in the case of Othello and The
Merchant of Venice, this particular group is the Venetian elite, who are predominately Caucasian and
adhere to Christian beliefs. Consequently, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As many of the Venetians [are] Christian (MV 1.3.39), Shylock is subjected to religious discrimination
because he [is] a Jew (3.1.54). This is significant because Shylock is forced to face a number of abuses
at the Venetian elite. For this reason alone, Shylock is spit on (1.3.123) and called [a] dog (3.1.125)
just because of the religious beliefs he adheres to conflicts with the beliefs of the Venetian elite. Where
Shylock is constantly laughed at (3.1.51) and mocked at (3.1.51) by Antonio, a member of the
accepted Venetian elite, for being a religious outsider, this indicates that the Venetians view Shylock
and, by extension, the entire Jewish religion as an embodiment of the devil. As the Venetian elite
believe Shylock is an evil soul producing holy witness / Is like a villain with a smiling cheek (1.3.97
98) that disrupts the accepted religion in Venice, this demonstrates that a religion difference is
justifiable reason to discriminate Shylock. The extreme instances of unfair treatment that Shylock
withstands from the Venetians because of his religious beliefs denotes him like Othello as an outsider
in Venice. The dualities of acceptance extends only to those individuals who do not threaten the
scarcity of that which the Venetian elite hold most dear to them: purity and Christianity. As Othello
and Shylock both threaten these aspects, the illusion of acceptance bestowed upon them by the
Venetian elite shatters and leads to the harsh discrimination and denotation as outsiders in Venice.
Incidentally, where the Venetian elite believe that Othello and Shylock are outsiders for their racial
and religious identities, Othello and Shylock sustain this belief by depicting themselves as the
stereotypes that are associated with them,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Mutual Fund
1.1 Introduction of financial market:
High return and high risk are correlated to each other and the same can be applied in financial market.
In financial matters, the term market implies the total of purchasers and vendors and the exchanges

Every investment company appoints a fund manager who invests the money in different investment
opportunities. These could run from shares to debentures to currency market instruments, contingent
on the plan s expressed targets. The income earned through these investments and the capital
appreciation acknowledged by the plan is shared by its unit holders in extent to the quantity of units
claimed by them. Therefore a Mutual Fund is the most appropriate investment for the investor as it
offers a chance to put resources into an enhanced, professionally managed basket of securities at a
moderately low cost. Mutual fund schemes are offered on the basis of structure and investment
objectives.
a) Structure based schemes:
i) Open Ended Schemes: These schemes do not have a fixed maturity period. Under this an investor
can buy and sell the units at any point of time. The main feature of this scheme is liquidity which
enables the investor to invest and redeem units at any point of time in the scheme. ii) Close Ended
Schemes: The schemes have a fixed maturity of say 2 to 15 years. One can directly buy the investment
in the scheme at the time of issue and thereafter sell the units of the scheme on the stock exchange
where they are listed. The units of these scheme were redeemed at NAV (Net Asset

Critique of Title IX
What if you were told that a law was made to remove discrimination of sexes in sports and education,
or that man and woman are both given equal opportunities as far as an athletic or educational career?
Would you then agree or disagree with the ideology that both sexes are still treated different even
though this law was created and the opportunities that were promised aren t precisely
indistinguishable? Title IX does not accurately protect sexual discrimination; it doesn t give equal
opportunities, and is unjust as far as benefits between male and female sports. Although this law
allows men and women to participate in the same sports and educational fields it does not efficiently

In order to comply with Title IX the schools had to effectuate with what s called proportionality. (CBS

also enforcing Title IX. The problem that balancing caused was that the school had to add more
women sports which cost more money to the school, or choose to cancel some of the schools male

for sports the male sports had to be put on the burner. Many schools cut male wrestling, track and
field, tennis, and gymnastics teams instead of adding women sports. Jason Lewis a gymnasts whose
team was eliminated said that the number of men s teams are dwindling because colleges are dropping
what are called the minor men s sports, the ones that don t draw crowds or make money, and investing
more and more in just one sport football. The Fact that just twenty three years ago, there was 107 men
s gymnastics teams in this nation, now there are only 20 teams left just so happens to prove Lewis s
statement to be true.(CBS news) Finally, Title IX says that equal benefits should be given to both men
and women in the sports and education industries, but there are people who disagree with this
statement. Title IX was not made for the intent of giving women a beneficial

The English Industrial Revolution Essay
Textile manufacture changed dramatically in the 1700s. Key inventions such as Hargreaves spinning
jenny (1764), Arkwright s water frame (1769), Crompton s spinning mule (1779) and Cartwright s
power loom (1784) reduced human labour by up to a third. Early models of these machines tended to
be unreliable, and some looms were ruined by machine breakers as a statement against the
replacement of human labour with machines.
The main centres of textile production in England became Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West
Yorkshire. Leeds, for example, boasted around 170 scribbling machines (which prepare wool for
spinning) by 1786; this had unfortunate consequences for workers, who signed a petition in that year
stating that twelve men are thrown out of employ for every single machine used in scribbling .
By 1830, over half of British exports consisted of cotton textiles. People began to favour the ... Show

Examples Of Secrecy In Frankenstein
The well being of a family is often the result of absolute trust and absence of secrecy, in Frankenstein
by Mary Shelley, the reader can observe how secrecy between family members can lead to
catastrophic events where there is no way back. Victor Frankenstein keeps the monster, his creation, a
secret, making himself guilty of every occurrence involving him and driving himself to a very
complicated situation. When the Frankenstein family is betrayed by Victor it generates a feeling of
agony in Victor which will drive him to do everything he can to reconcile with himself and his family.

in agony, the recent events have put him in a situation where he has no feelings of hope for a positive
ending. What Justine said had a very negative effect on him, he is in complete mental suffering
because he feels guilty for his family misfortune. When Justine died Victor fell into a state of remorse
and despair, he begins to sense feelings of resentment towards the monster and also the need to go
after him for redemption and reconciliation after the evil he has created, Victor says When I reflected
on his crimes and malice, my hatred and revenge burst all bounds of moderation. I would have made a
pilgrimage to the highest peak of the Andes, could I when there have precipitated him to their base. I
wished to see him again, that I might wreak the utmost extent of abhorrence on his head and avenge
the deaths of William and Justine (Shelley, 76). Certainly Victor is devastated by what has happened
and he has felled into a state of misery and torment due to the fact that he is just as guilty as the
monster of the murderers, and likewise that he is

Pros And Cons Of Foreign Aid
Resolve Wealthy nations have an obligation to provide development assistance to other nations
Foreign Aid Defined:
Simply put, this is the act done by a country or an international organization to help other countries in
terms of supplying goods, services and monetary aid. This can be in the form of military assistance,
medical aid, food and training. This can also be given as a form of loan. Moreover, purposes can vary
from fighting poverty to promoting development. Normally, developed countries help developing and
under developed countries.
The earliest foreign aid given to other countries can be dated back to wars between countries, in the
form of military aid. Powerful countries helped war stricken countries at times of turmoil and chaos.
The U.S. is one nation which has been active in sending military troops as allies to invaded territories
in Asia and in other parts of the world for so many years. Nowadays, aid given has transcended to
other types of support.
Pro s
Intro:
Our world is mainly divided into two types of countries developed and developing (underdeveloped). I
opine that while governments of developing countries are responsible for their citizens, developed
countries too can contribute their bit.
PRO VS. CON Pro 1:
To begin with, the world should be considered as a family. Because all the countries share the same
natural resources, problems created by one nation can affect another.

Frida Kahlo Healing Style
The process of healing can be long and torturous; therefore, a person has to determine the best way of
healing. Frida Kahlo was a painter, who used multiple moments in her life to influence her style of
painting. She was disabled as a child after being diagnosed with polio. She was also crippled at the
young age of 19 after a traffic accident and suffered permanent injuries. As a child, she learned that
physical activity was a way to heal from an illness. However, this was not an option for her due to her
injuries. She was able to find another outlet, such as art, to allow her body to heal. Frida Kahlo did not
let her injuries hinder her ability to heal and express herself.

Hamlet Chapter 1 Analysis
When they come back to the pontoon, Huck and Jim find that the duke has printed a handbill that
depicts Jim as a runaway slave from New Orleans. The handbill, the duke contends, will permit them
to run the pontoon amid the day without interruption. The following morning, Jim says he can
withstand maybe a couple rulers yet close to that.
Chapter twenty one twenty three:
Planning for their next trick, the duke and ruler hone the gallery scene from Romeo and Juliet and the
sword battle from Richard III. As a reprise, the duke additionally shows the lord a cluttered variant of
Hamlet ssoliloquy. A couple of days after the fact, they go aground in Arkansas and choose to show
their insight into Shakespeare. The town is a soiled spot with roads of mud and loafers spitting
tobacco. As Huck investigates, a tanked man named Boggs races into town vowing to murder a man
named Colonel Sherburn. The nearby townspeople giggle at Boggs and comment that his conduct is
normal practice, and he is innocuous. After a brief period, Sherburn leaves his office and advises
Boggs to quit taking a stand in opposition to him. Boggs keeps on swearing at Sherburn, and, in

Benefits Of Absentee Voting
Absentee Ballot Absentee ballots became big in the 2016 presidential election. There were nearly
78,000 returning ballots for the state of South Carolina in the Republican and Democratic parties.
These numbers were double the numbers of the 2008 elections, which was also marked as a record
high turnout. Absentee ballots are used by an immense number of Americans in our society today. The
absentee ballot process is quick and easy and benefits everyone who is eligible for the ballot.
Continuing this, an absentee ballot, as said in class, is a ballot that is mailed to voters who are unable
to attend the polls. The absentee ballot process gives people who are unable to present themselves at
the polls a chance to express their feelings by voting on which candidate they may pursue in. Voters
may be eligible for an absentee ballot if they are going out of the state on say a vacation, if they are
disabled and cannot attend the polls, if they are of age, ect... The absentee ballot process wants to
make it possible for people unable to attend the polls, to vote. On the ballot the voters will pick which
candidate that they feel is fit for the job and then they will send the ballot back in. Everyone who is

Granite people have to qualify for the ballot, but if they do qualify, I believe it s the best way to go. All
the people have to do is check out the boxes and then send the ballot back in. No one has to even leave
their house to vote in an election if they are voting by absentee ballot. For example, if someone is
seventy eight years of age and in a wheel chair they may apply for absentee ballot. The person in the
wheel chair cannot drive himself to the polls and vote that way, but he can use an absentee ballot and
vote from his house. This is a prime example of why I believe that the absentee ballot is a brilliant
way for people who are unable to attend the polls, to

An Opinion On Western Strategy Essay
Every journalist, public intellectual and mouthbreathing tv personality has an opinion on what western
strategy should be in Syria in light of the Russian involvement. It makes for a chaos in perpetual
regeneration. However, the vacuum we ve created in Syria by our inaction and the lack of leadership
from president Obama and Mr Cameron having now been filled by the vile dictator Putin might make
western strategy more simple. That is if we operate under the assumption we take advantage of the
opportunity. Many Sunni Arab nations in the region have been unwilling to take action against ISIS
and in many cases have been supporting the Islamic State materially and strategically. This is because
the dominant concern for the Sunni regimes is the threat posed by the rogue axis of the Syrian Ba
athist Alawite regime of Bashar Al Assad, the Shia twelver rapture cult IRGC, and their protector
Vladimir Putin. Setting aside the many severe human rights offenses and the warped ideological
export regime in Saudi Arabia and the embarrassment that is Turkey under the AKP and the unabashed
Hitler loving islamist Erdogan, it isn t difficult to see their point. Saudi Arabia and Turkey have long
been allies to the west. Saudi Arabia is actually surprisingly eager and cooperative in diplomatic
matters despite their vile domestic barbarism and their fetish for pushing wahabbi islam on the world,
and Turkey has become a serious liability in recent years after only being a problematic

  • 2. Homelessness Is A Growing Concern Within Our Country Homelessness is a growing concern within our country. When families become homeless, the issues presented are much more complex than losing a house. Often times, the children within the family feel the greatest impact when their family becomes homeless. The solution for homeless families, if they are not fortunate to find living arrangements with family members, is to place them in shelters or motels. Although this solution may take the family off the street and provide the family with a roof over their head, there are remaining concerns surrounding this approach. In Point Pleasant Borough, between the two elementary schools there are fourteen homeless families. Most of these homeless families are residing in hotels in surrounding towns. Despite having a roof over their heads, there are numerous risk factors for these young children and their families. The hotels that these families are residing in are low income institutions that house substance abusers. The exposure to substances leaves the children open to the possibility of using themselves to cope with the stress of being homeless. There is limited space within these hotel rooms, leaving the families with limited privacy. Inadequate food due to limited income and proper food storage is an issue leaving the families at risk for malnutrition. Hotels are not the cleanest facilities for individuals to reside. There is a risk of being exposed to numerous illnesses. If an individual does become ill, recuperating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When manufactures/retailers put the word tactical in the same sentence with a knife or firearm or any piece of survival gear they can raise the price. The word conjures up images in your mind, images of SWAT teams, soldiers, and of tattered and gritty men, and woman taking the fight to the enemy. This is why many retailers use props to sell their items. Camouflage is big today, and many retailers use it to put pictures in your mind. There you are in a tactical situation covered head to toe, in tactical camouflage, teeth barred, and the knife they want to sell you clutched in your teeth, and this of course is the images they want you to see, so they can dip into your purse or wallet. Articles on survival and even on prepping use the term tactical loosely, how to use a flashlight in a tactical situation, communication in a tactical situation, noise discipline in a tactical situation and the list goes on. • 4. The Importance Of Privacy And Law Enforcement Essay Twenty seven years ago, scientists at The European Organization for Nuclear Research created the World Wide Web. Because of this, we now live in an interconnected world that has transformed the way we communicate ( ), the way we do business, the way we live, and the way criminal activity takes place ( ). Here in the United States where privacy and security are such an important part of our national ethos, it is critical that our intelligence and law enforcement (LE) community confront the dangers as well as producing new evolving tools, for both digital surveillance and data collection. I believe privacy is important because it secures our nation from both internal threats and external threats, as well as protecting our civil liberties; for without security, we cannot have privacy. According to our literature, privacy is a common value, a public value, a collective value, and to some extent, a positive and negative right. However, in times of national security, the relationship and broader value are the sum of all three values. For instance, in the aftermath of the September 11, 20001 terrorist attacks, the idea that civil liberties had to be reduced in favor of national security emerged with renewed vigor. Many have noted the paradox that security measures intended to protect a liberal democracy can end up eroding the civil liberties at the heart of liberal democracies ( ). Because of this, it is common to view this problem as a juxtaposition dealing with the appropriate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Advent Of The Sasanian Period 1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required explanatory treatises. Moreover, Sasanian kings exorbitant sponsorship of Zoroastrianism brought the priesthood endless political and financial power which enabled them to sponsor religious schools and consequently promoted composition of religious works more than before. 2 After the downfall of Sasanian dynasty, Zoroastrianism s deprivation of administrative power, the threat of religious conversion, the decrease in the number of priesthood applicants and defect in the body of the Zoroastrian clerical system not only led to the expedition of religious texts copying but also compelled the prominent priests ... After I did the two paintings, I knew it wasn t finished. The two canvases I painted looked too lonely. I needed to paint at least two more but i was stuck, staring at an empty canvas that was waiting to be filled with colors. At first the daughter still agreed to come back for the summer and always enjoyed her time. She would see her sibling, and enjoy camping. She never wanted to go back to her mom and always cried when she had to leave. Recently, the mom began brainwashing their daughter. The mom is extremely unhealthy and has chosen to do many inappropriate things which my uncle has proof of. By changing the properties of the liquid phase (e.g. concentration, temperature, pH) adsorbed species can be released from the surface and transferred back into the liquid phase. This reverse process is referred to as desorption. Since adsorption is a surface process, the surface area is a key quality parameter of adsorbents. Engineering adsorbents are typically highly porous material with surface area in the range between 102 and 103 m2 /g. Their porosity allows realizing such large surfaces as internal surfaces constituted by the pore walls. In contrast, the external surface is typically below 1 m2 /g and therefore of minor relevance. As an example, the external surface of powdered activated carbon with a particle density of 0.6 g/cm3 and a particle radius of 0.02 mm is only 0.25 m2 /g. However, adsorption is one of the promising methods to remove the dye pollutants from aqueous system completely. The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, now referred to as 9/11, were a series of coordinated, well planned suicide attacks that involved the use of hijacked passenger jets as a means of destruction . The suicide bombers used the passenger jets as bombs, and ran into the World Trade Center Towers of New York, the Pentagon, and a fourth plane that did not make it to its destination, hit the ground in Pennsylvania. These sudden attacks came as a shock to the people and government of the USA. The attacks affected not only the United States, but the entire world felt the aftershock of the event. Days after the twin towers had collapsed people were still searching for the miracle of hope, that they would once again find their loved ones alive. Amidst all the panic, it was hard for people to step back and realize that there was a very slim chance that they would find the person they were looking for. The after effects of the tragedy involved searching for bodies amongst the rubble of what was left of the World Trade Center Towers and of the Pentagon. As people witnessed the first and second planes fly into the trade centers, they saw the buildings shatter to pieces, and watched as people desperate to escape from the peril jumped out into the streets below. It was hard to put all of these images behind them. These images affect the way the human mind functions. Humans are a unique species, one that feels sorrow, pain, and loss. The psychological effects of such trauma will affect people for the rest of their lives. Recent technologies have made water access more universal, however there is still a large percentage of the world population that lives without clean water. Nanotechnology is a promising field that may offer sustainable solutions to the water crisis and allow the world to move toward universal access to clean water. Due to increasing demand for water, the world has been faced with a water crisis. The rising human population and unsustainable environmental practices has made clean freshwater a rare commodity. Developing countries are impacted the most by the water crisis. In the 20th century the global population increased threefold and triggered a simultaneous sixfold increase in water use (Bogardi, 2012). Water usage has likely increased due to extended droughts, population growth, more strict health regulations, and competing demands from a variety of users (Savage, 2005). Developed countries like the United States have been able to keep up with the increasing water demands by creating larger infrastructures and using legal means to regulate water consumption. However, many developing countries lack the capital needed to create the infrastructures needed to provide clean water. Additionally, developing countries often lack an impartial and efficient legal system that can enforce water rights and water regulations. Eric Remarque wanted to show us the facts about war and he did but he also showed us three things that happen in war with emotions. In this essay I will go over three things that come out of war other than death which is betrayal, horror, and friendship. To begin with, betrayal is a strong emotion that can lead to hatred and more emotions. Kantorek talks the boys into joining the war because he thought that it would be fun and a good experience for them. Another way of betrayal can be the unspoken kind like how when the boys first go to the front they find coffins and they think that the government has little hopes for people to survive. The final way of betrayal is physical betrayal like when the boys beat up Himmelstoss just because they did not like how he treated them. For all those reasons is why I think that betrayal is a strong emotion that can overwhelm someone with hate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe this due to how unhealthy the food is for our bodies, the disturbing facts about the happy meals, the poor service, and the non cleanliness of the restaurant. Fast food might be easy and cheap but people do not realize how harmful the food is for their bodies. The problem is the food that is served at these types of restaurants, especially McDonalds, are high in fat, salt, processed, and can have harmful ingredients included in the food. • 19. The Subculture Of Violence Theory The subculture of southern violence theory is just one of many cultural transmissions theories discussed in Miller s text. Cultural transmission theories determine that the values, beliefs, and norms of subcultures (deviant or no) contrast with the dominant culture. Therefore, it is possible for a subculture to justify criminal behavior as normal or necessary when it comes to one s reputation and self defense. Because the southern region of the United States is known to have high crime rates than other regions of the United States and as a whole, the subculture of violence theory was hypothesized by Wolfgang and Ferracuti during the late 1960s. Other researchers: Ball Rokeach, 1973; Erlanger, 1974; and Hartnagel, 1980 theorized what factors may be the cause of the high crime rates in the southern region as well. This discussion will explore the implications of whether or not their findings adequately support the existence of the subculture of southern violence theory. Wolfgang and Ferracuti furthered the subculture of violence theory from the insights of cultural deviance theorists before them. Basing their theorizations entirely upon inferences from available statistics on homicide at that time, which illustrated a concentration of violent crime in primarily poor, racialized neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Through these statistics, the authors deduce that subcultural violence is a uniquely marginalized male phenomenon. Wolfgang and Ferracuti argue that violence is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saudi Arabia and Turkey have long been allies to the west. Saudi Arabia is actually surprisingly eager and cooperative in diplomatic matters despite their vile domestic barbarism and their fetish for pushing wahabbi islam on the world, and Turkey has become a serious liability in recent years after only being a problematic ...
