Informative Essay On Ebola
In September 2014, during my military drill reserve weekend while waiting for our influenza

Five Leadership Lessons From James T. Kirk
As Alex Knapp wrote about in his article Five Leadership Lessons from James T. Kirk,
leadership is about constantly learning, encouraging creativity and innovation, working with
team members, and understanding the competition in order to lead better and lead to greater
places. Knapp observed through Kirk s actions that the knowledge required to lead is not
necessarily all the information that is needed to be an accomplished leader. A good leader will
also have people on their team that contradict their views, as Knapp implied, in order to get a
better perspective of the problem. Being a good leader also encompasses working with lower
positions and experiencing the different types of work so that the leader will earn the workers trust

Theme Of Hesitancy In Hamlet
Rebecca Kallios
12/15/17
Final Essays
Topic A. Hamlet s theme of hesitancy and action In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of
Denmark, the protagonist, Prince Hamlet, is summoned by the ghost of his father to seek revenge
for his murder. Hamlet struggles to avenge his father s death as he is a complex character that is
more analytical and introspective, which is apparent through the first person narrated soliloquys. As
the play progresses, Hamlet s inability to act adds a great weight and pressure upon his shoulders
as he wants to do right by his father as a noble son, yet he struggles to follow through. Eventually,
Hamlet does kill Claudius but as a result of his hesitancy several additional lives are lost. In the
revenge tragedy Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, William Shakespeare develops the theme of
hesitancy through Hamlet s primary dilemma of avenging his father s murder. When Hamlet is
first summoned by the ghost to kill Claudius, Hamlet seems eager and determined. When the
ghost calls for him to, Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder (I.v.25), Hamlet exclaims,
Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/As meditation or the thoughts of love/May sweep
to my revenge (I.v.29 31). When Hamlet talks to the ghost, he initially seems determined and
ready to act, but with time to think Hamlet loses his motivation. Hamlet questions whether the
ghost is truly his father s spirit. The importance of religion to Hamlet is apparent in his
hesitation over the authenticity of the ghost. Protestants at this time, such as Hamlet, questioned
the reality of ghosts as they believed they were the devil in disguise. In his Act II, scene II
soliloquy, Hamlet expresses his concern over the reality of the ghost when he states, ...The spirit
that I have seen/May be the devil: and the devil hath power/T assume a pleasing shape (II.ii.540
42). The power of God delays Hamlet s action, as he doesn t want to unjustly kill a person.
Another cause for Hamlet s delay is that he wants proof of Claudius s guilt. Hamlet is distraught
over the fact that his mother remarried so soon following her husband s death, especially to her
husband s brother. In the Act I, scene II soliloquy, Hamlet states that

How Transnational Corporations Affect the Sovereignty of a Nation
Analysts agree that TNCs have altered the international relations principles that were once
dominated by nation state relations (Kline, 2005).Transnational Corporations have in many ways
exploited the weaknesses in the territorially guarded national laws. In many developing countries,
organizations affiliated to external control have challenged and in some instances threatened
government sovereignty. Economically stable countries such as the United States of America, have
attempted to extend their influence to other countries of the world through TNC. This situation is
what led to governments endorsing the non interference policy in national political affairs (United
Nations, 2003). Interesting to note is the role that non governmental organizations played in this
debate. Nongovernmental organizations have been known to not only exert political pressure on
governments with little democratic space, but also collaborate with TNCs in this quest. (Heinrich,
2001). For example, many NGOs sort the active involvement of TNC in removal of the apartheid
regime in South Africa. This in return, has created tension between these governments and the
NGOs with the NGOs calling for the increased political involvement of the TNCs.
Transnational Corporations have been steadfast in calling for respect, support and promotion of
human rights (Kline, 2005). This has been done in reference to the United Nations Universal

10.4.5 Critique
The critique of this model derives principally from the criticisms that can be levelled at the research
methodology, particularly its non positivist approach, although a rationale for the single case study
design and hermeneutic phenomenology research paradigm has been made above (Ch 5,6).
Within its own epistemological terms a legitimate criticism of such a model of management might
derive more generally from its potential irrefutability, following Popper s criticism of the
pseudosciences , where a counter example is re interpreted within the frame of the model so as not
to contradict it, for example a non charismatic leader s behaviour might be reinterpreted as having
elements of the charismatic process, although they not being obvious.
A second critique might be made building on the assumption that managerial effectiveness within
an organisation in predicated on their ability to lead, mobilise and direct subordinates. As a result,
it might be argued that the model covers a very small element of the overall leadership and
management process, focussing exclusively on the manager s activity and leadership with their
own subordinate team, and missing the larger organisational function of the leader, their
entrepreneurial activity, and engagement with supraordinate managers. This is an acknowledged
failing, based upon Parson s collectivist notion of power (@@@@ above), and there are some
speculations and proposals for further research noted below.

Crossbreeding And Religion
Our Pleasure Or Theirs?
Life. Mixed Families. Morals. People worldwide are debating and battle over the effects of
crossbreeding. Crossbreeding is the science of altering DNA through the process of breeding two
different animals. In order for these mutations to be possible the number of chromosomes each
animal has must match. Some well known examples of this include the liger which is a cross
between a lion and tiger, and the beefalo which is a mutation of a cow and a buffalo. Many people
crossbreed for various reasons. However this practice has superb effects and also many disastrous
effects. Do people do this for the animals or for humans. It is the main reason for debates. Does it
help or hurt the animal. Is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One main con is how unpredictable it can be. The size is hard to guess, temperaments can be the
opposite of what you want and some unexpected genetic disorders can occur. Animals with these
problems often become a financial burden to the owner as they become expensive to care for.
With the size being so big or small effects can happen. If the animal is big with a wild
temperament it can attack and kill. This is bad and not what the breeder wanted. If it is too small it
can get health problems that they normally wouldn t get. And this is why crossbreeding must be
stopped, the animal can be harmed. And for what cause. HUMAN PLEASURE. If it helps the

PE Investment Analysis
In the last decade, PE has emerged as a significant source of capital for funding infrastructure
projects. Traditionally, equity for infrastructure projects was typically contributed by the sponsors
and developers of the project. A major portion of the project investment was often obtained through
debt financing, which accounted for about 6o% 7o% of the total investment required. Non sponsor
investment has been largely in the form of debt, except in the case of public equity offerings. The
rise of PE investment has led to the availability of a new pool of capital for infrastructure projects,
where the need for capital is substantial. Unlike other external sources of funding, PE investors are
active investors. They usually provide... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An inference from this is that governments should not only create conditions to facilitate foreign
PE investment, but they should also take bold steps to develop the domestic PE industry. The
presence of a strong domestic PE industry would be a catalyst to attract further foreign PE
investment. A large proportion of investments in our sample consisted of single investor deals.
The study of solely financed and syndicated deals highlighted the main motivations for
syndication. The average investment amount in syndicated deals was higher than that of deals
where there was only a single investor. However, there were no significant differences in the state
variables between sole and syndicated deals. This showed that both sole and syndicated deals
were taking place in similar operating environments. If the motivation of syndication was to
leverage the diverse expertise among the investors with a view to reducing risk, then syndicated
deals would have been expected in riskier environments, for example in states where the level of
corruption was higher or the PRI value was lower. Since this has not been the case, we feel that
capital pooling in order to fund larger projects has been the main motivation for syndication, rather
than the ability to assume a higher level of operating environment risk. The overall characteristics
of the operating environment also play an important role in attracting PE investment. Regional
analysis shows that the East had the lowest

A Comparison Of Paul CГ©zanne And The Large Bathers
Matisse s Bonheur de Vivre (Joy of Life) and Picasso s Les Demoiselles d Avignon, the two
different paintings that are simultaneously seen as inspired by and breaking free of Paul

The Large Bathers
The Large Bathers is a painting by the French painter Paul CГ©zanne. It is made in oil on canvas.
It measures 210.5 cm tall and 250.8 cm long. It was painted in 1906. It is located at the
Museum of Art in Philadelphia, United States. It is the largest fabric ever painted by CГ©zanne,

Matisse went a step further developing a style of greater sensitivity and sincerity. The big canvas
that he called The Joy of Life is actually the announcement of this style. Although the painting is a
synthesis of numerous sketches made by the painter a year earlier in Collioure, almost the work is
not a vision of a holiday scene, but something conceived: a mythical early paradise where
unobtrusive characters in dance cannons love and generality with nature.
Vibration colors are applied with no trace of distraction, and brush motions are in search for a pure
sensuality of color. The only movement is long running curves of trees that continue and repeat in
the contours of the body. These harmonized rhythms, combined with the relaxed

Les Demoiselles d Avignon
Les Demoiselles d Avignon is a large oil painting from 1907 by Spanish painter Pablo
Picasso (1881 1973). The work portrays five naked prostitutes from a brothel in AvinyГі,
Barcelona. It is considered the first picture of Cubism.
Picasso painted this painting conceptually in the spirit of the earlier artistic aspirations of art
history, depicting the traditional theme of the female act. Even so, the position of the left figure

young Nigerian man, Obi Okonkwo, who has lost connection with his African tradition and
develops almost an extreme dislike for the ruling privileged of which he is a part. After going
away to England to get an education he wishes he can help all Nigerians, he returns home and
finds helpless. Because of walls set in front of him such as, the neo colonial values of the
Europeans, he wasn t able to do the things he wanted to do for his people. So most of the African

When he arrives at the Atlantic Terminal in cargo boat named MV sasa, he goes through the
customs official procedure. A young customs official tells Obi that the tax on his radiogram is
five pounds. Obi demands a government receipt. The official says that he can decrease the duty
to two pounds for Obi. Obi asks how he can do it. The novel also records the way of life of taxi
drivers who load their cars and drive at unsafe speeds howling abuse at one another across that
roads and traffic police taking too much advantage of the condition and taking bribes from them.
Even ministers confess that they take bribes. No Longer at Ease shows the nature and extent of the
changes brought by colonial intervention in Nigeria. (Riddy, Felicity, Language as a Theme in No
Longer at Ease Ed. Innes and Lindfors, 153.)
The degeneration of young Nigerians is very objectively illustrated. In the novel, Nigerians are
shown to have little ethical values. Young girls offer their sex to win favours from bureaucrats.
About Obi himself, the novel verbalizes: he had been quite intimate with a few (women) in
England...a Nigerian, a West Indian, English girls and so on. (Achebe, Chinua. 1960. No Longer at

and o ur research was focused mainly on the species Mnemiopsis, otherwise known as the Sea
Walnut. This species of Comb Jellies is found in freshwater and saltwater all throughout the world.
They move through their habitat with cilia attached to comb rows. The Sea Walnut is thought to be
one of largest organism to move with cilia. This may be because it is not the most advanced
organism. Its highest level of organization is tissues. But do not mistake that for this organism

But their bioluminescence is also special, because they glow with rainbow colors. This is in part
possible and useful because of the depth they live in. They tend to live in shallower waters, so the
colors they project would still be visible. Another fun fact is that the Sea Walnuts, when invasive
are very capable of terminating ecosystems. They destroyed an immense number of fisheries on the
Black Sea due to their voracious appetites, and caused economic downturn by the destruction of
these fisheries by eating gargantuan amounts of plankton (https://faculty.washington.edu/cemills

Revenge In The Cask Of Amontillado
Edgar Allan Poe is an American author famously known for short stories of mystery and horror.
One of the many short stories that Edgar Allan Poe is known for is The Cask of Amontillado.
This short story is about Montressor s seek of revenge to Fortunato who had hurt him a thousand
times and learned that Fortunato laughed at his proud name, Montressor, the name of an old and
honored family (Poe). Montressor devises a plan of revenge by using Fortunato s great weakness;
he liked to drink good wine, indeed he drank much of it (Poe). One evening during the carnival
season, Montressor meets Fortunato on the street alone drunk and celebrating the carnival season in

Montressor also indicates himself too as person with high status by ending his statement with as
once I was. In Critical Companion to Edgar Allan Poe: A Literary Reference to His Life and Work
by Dawn B. Sova, views the significance of the conflict between the Roman Catholic
Montressor and the Mason Fortunato as one of the Church defending against it enemies (42).
While Sova defines it as political and religious conflict as the root for revenge, I believe that this
is just a conflict between two rich men of great arrogance who had their feelings hurt and wanted
to use family power for revenge because two people of a political and religious conflict does not
simply go into each other s house and start drinking together. Montressor continues to express his
care and insist that they should go back. He explains to Fortunato that he will be ill, and cannot be
responsible (Poe). This verbal irony describes Montressor s view towards revenge of not only
punish but punish with impunity because he wants to have his murderous revenge without any
consequences. Fortunato foolishly replies:
Enough,
The cough s a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough.
True true, I replied; and indeed, I had no intentions of alarming you unnecessarily but you should
use all proper caution. (Poe)

The Downfalls of Egalitarianism and Television
What would actually happen if everyone was forced to be equal? Kurt Vonnegut envisioned the
fatal outcome in his masterpiece, Harrison Bergeron. The story illustrates what would happen if a
government or some other power takes this notion serious (Mowery). The protagonist, Harrison,
who is arrest for exuberant individuality, escapes from prison and goes on national television
station to declare himself emperor, only later to be killed by the handicap general Diane Moon. In
Harrison Bergeron, Kurt Vonnegutsatirizes the movement toward egalitarianism and the effect of

Literary Critic, Newton Minow, called television a vast wasteland of destructive or meaningless
programs. Minow claimed that instead of challenging people to think, television programming
was making it easier for people to avoid serious thought (Hist. text). The uses of television
desensitize Harrison s Mother, Hazel. Although, she did shed a tear when she witnesses her son
being murder on television, she said, I forgot, it was something real sad on television (10). Hazel
becomes so numb from watching television; she forgot what she was crying about (Alvarez). In
addition, one may determine that Hazel has attention deficit disorder because she is not to focus on
anything (Themes and cons.). According to Karen Wood, Harrison Bergeron concerns with
technological problems only as these problems express and explicate character the character of the
human race (Wood). In summary, the people gave up their individuality for the good of society of
being equal.
Vonnegut s real point behind Harrison Bergeron is a serious attack on the idea of enforced equality
(Mowery). At the end of the story, Vonnegut proposes that no government is capable of suppressing
the individual completely. Rather, the inner strength of human nature at its finest is more powerful
that ill conceived laws (Mowery). In a criticism, Stanley Schatt describes the death of Harrison as,
the lost beauty, grace, and wisdom. In summary, Today American society can benefit from

Mother s Vs. Father s And Birthing Process
Thesis Statement
Mother s vs. Father s and birthing process. For a working woman, maternity leave is a standard
part of giving birth. Physically, the new mother needs that time to recover from the birthing
process, but there is an emotional reason, too. Experts preach over and over that for those first few
weeks of a baby s life, it needs the interaction and touch of its mother to help with bonding to start
their development on the right track. Shouldn t the father be part of that process as well? Shouldn t
the father of the new child be able to take paternity leave from work? I believe they should, not
only to bond with the child, but to help the mother with her recovery and to coordinate visitors,
appointments and any errands that may be needed. Some people have a stigma that the mother is
the one responsible for raising the child from birth. I respectfully disagree. I believe the father
should be as much a part of a baby s first weeks as the mother. Why should a father be robbed of
the intimate bonding time with his child just because he didn t physically give birth to them? I feel
this would help the father take better care of the child when the mother returns to work, especially
if the father is home at different times than the mother. Having time at home bonding with their
father will help the child recognize him when their mother is not around and put them at ease.
Studies have also shown that fathers who are home on paternity leave are more likely to be

How Personal Organization Can Have Direct Impact On Your...
Is your laptop, monitor or desk covered in sticky notes? Do you use a different notebook or pad
of paper each time you take notes at a meeting or on a call? Do you scribble notes and tasks on
odd pieces of paper and then keep them in stacks on your desk? If you answered yes (and
hopefully cringed) to any of those questions, then I m going to venture to guess that you are
perhaps in desperate need of improving your organizational skills!
Personal organization can have direct impact on your small business s success. When your
important tasks, projects, events and schedule are all managed in a productive way, the result is
likely to be that your business is also organized and able to grow. Poor organization skills lead to
low productivity, which in turn leads to wasted time and effort. That s wasted time and effort you
simply can t afford when you are working hard at growing your small business.
To improve your personal organization skills, it s important to develop a system that works well
for you and your particular environment. An effective organization system is ideally developed
over time, and requires consistency and discipline. As I believe the saying goes, it takes 21 days of
repeated action to form a habit. However many days it really does take, we typically don t develop
our bad habits overnight so we can t expect to correct them in a day either.
Your personal organization system does not have to be complex or high tech for it to be effective.

Summary Of The Movie Doctor Strange
Giselle October 10, 2017 Movie Review Essay FD The movie Doctor Strange is about a
neurosurgeon, named Stephen Strange, who becomes an amazing and powerful hero, after he
was in a car accident that brought serious injury to his hands. The movie opens with a scene of
Dr. Strange performing surgeries with Dr. Christine Palmer, his friend throughout his typical
work day. The importance of these first scenes is to show how important his hands are to him
and the people around him. This scene is also important because it seems as though Strange has
a love interest in Christine. During one of Strange s surgeries he successfully extracts a bullet
from a man s brain and afterwards he is shown celebrating his success in the hallway of the
hospital. This scene is relevant because it shows how much pride Strange has in himself and
how much he believes that he can do anything. When the viewer gets to the beginning of the
movie we are shown Strange s extravagant apartment and the physical things he values. It
appears that Strange has a nice life until he gets into a horrendous car accident while on his way
to a party. Strange gets in an accident because he is trying to diagnose a patient from his car s
touch screen and swerves off the side of a mountain. This accident caused Strange to lose half his

As evidenced by the figures mentioned earlier, enjoying television shows were largely a
communal affair between the 60s and 80s. As it progressed from being an activity enjoyed as a
community (in community centres) to being an activity enjoyed with one s family (at home), we
see a shift in viewing habits, as television watching gradually became a more personal activity, as
the average amount of people which the average person viewed television with became smaller.
The number of channels available for viewing also increased, thus granting greater autonomy to
television viewers. In 1963, there were 2 channels Channel 5 and Channel 8, which broadcasted
programmes in English and Chinese respectively. By 1985, there were four channels; Prime 12
and Premiere 12 were added, designed to offer public service and minority language programming.
Thus there was a significant increase in the variety of choices which television viewers had at their
disposal. With greater choice in selecting what they wanted to watch, the masses definitely became
less united in the programmes they watched, as there were now specific channels to cater to a
variety of needs, thus contributing to the gradual shift from collectivism to individualism in
Singapore society.

the average videogame designer made $35,000 $75,000 a year. The future of videogame design
is looking great. The interest of video games is raising, and a lot bolder audience plays them.
Video games have outgrown many other industries in a short period of time, and have already
become a multi billion dollar industry and rising. I researched a video game designer because I
wanted to know about their role in creating a video game, what they do daily, and their income.
A video game designer needs good communicating skills in order to improve the content of the
game. Also, it is not as easy job as it seems a lot of stress and hard work is involved. Finally, the
interest of video games is rising as video games appeal to a wider audience.

Childhood Is A Complex And Interesting Idea
Childhood is a complex and interesting idea to define. It can be viewed in a technical manner,
considering that childhood finishes at a certain age. Alternatively, childhood could be considered in
relation to experiences, expectations and societal views. There are many influences to consider
when defining childhoodand what determines a person s idea about childhood. In this discussion
paper I will be exploring some key ideas of childhood and thinking about this in the context of child
development.
Childhood could be viewed as socially constructed, it is difficult to define as every child is diverse
and has different influences, such as time, space and countries.
What is a child?
There are many ways of defining what a child is and all individuals have a different perspective.
Oxford dictionaries define a child as a young human being below the age of puberty or below the
legal age of majority
Oxford Dictionaries (2014). This statement does not define a child, as all children experience
puberty at different ages. For example, a child may have reached puberty by 13 years old, but
by law, they are still a child, as they are not able to vote, drive, drink alcohol or have sexual
intercourse. However, some holiday companies define adults as 12 years and over, therefore they
are classed as an adult within this organisation, despite being under age to take part in numerous
activities.
What is childhood?
Oxford dictionaries define childhood as the state or period of being a

The Internet And Global Positioning System
Humans throughout the ages have used maps to help them travel. As we enter the modern age,
maps on the internet and global positioning system(GPS) have become a more efficient way to
travel because it allows users to get a step by step instruction on how to get to their destination. In
2004, Google debuted Google Maps, a service that that disrupt the GPS device industry and has
paved the way for future navigation and GPS related apps. The success of GoogleMaps was
primarily based on the advances of technology, economic events, its versatility, and how it is
practically free to use.
Google started out as a search engine company that made money from selling ads. Cellular
devices have been popular since the 1900s but as technology advances smartphones took the
market in 2008. Google took that golden opportunity and make a mobile operating system. At
the same time Apple was in the same race and competing to seize the smartphone market.
Bragging about design and retail marketing, Apple established their name in the mobile market.
Google was locked in battle with one of the world s largest companies. However, although Apple
had an advantage over design and retail marketing, Google had a completive advantage in
information. In 2008 Google released Google Maps for mobile and it featured a GPS navigation.
This was a critical step for Google because it was estimated that map apps were used the most
right after communication. Currently Google maps is said to be used by 69% of all

The journey through Hell presents the readers with the sins and punishments. The dark edge
given off the Inferno s story truly shows Dante s inner thoughts of the how he viewed people of
power making. Virgil in the Inferno, is not only Dante s guide but also perhaps rational
reasoning. She constantly watching over his actions, who he is talking to, and for how long. She
encourages Dante to not feel the pity for the souls, because it is God s justice in the afterlife. The
Inferno shows how obsession with power, whether political or religious, that corruption will soon
meet its end when faced with the judgment of God. Turning the Inferno into his own symbolic

The Labyrinth
To me labyrinth mean that someone having a hard time with a person or a thing.

Juvenile Delinquents In The Twentieth Century
According to Bartollas and Schmalleger (2014), Sigmund Freud, the most famous psychologist of
the twentieth century, developed his now famous psychoanalytic theory, which contributed three
insights that shaped the handling of juvenile delinquents throughout much of the last century, (pp.
62 63). Freud s model describes personality as a dynamic system guided by three psychological
structures: the id, the ego, and the superego. The theory of the atavistic criminal, being born
criminal, existed in certain individuals. This mannerism would periodically reappear and lead to
crime, because of the primitive impulses that they were likely to possess, (Bartollas Schmalleger,
2014, p.58). Freud once stated, Where id is, there shall ego be (NotableQuotes, n.d, p. 1)
According to Freud, most behavior involves activity of all three structures. The id the most
primitive of the three structures, is concerned with instant gratification of basic physical needs and
urges (Boundless, n.d. p.1). The id acts as a control source for the entire psyche or personality and
is unconscious. The tension related to sex and aggressions are released through the... Show more

How Does Lan Samantha Chang Use Symbols In Housepainting
An author often uses symbolism in order to give the reader a clue into a deeper meaning behind
the story. A symbol is an object, person, place, or experience that represents something else, usually
something abstract. Symbols challenge the readers simple explanation while relating to the
everyday experience. In order to add depth to their stories, authors often use symbols to help the
reader gain a greater understanding of the story. In the Housepainting, the author, Lan Samantha

begins to realize she does not want her life to change. This house is a constant in her life and as

A symbol that is an important part of the story is the clock. When the author is describing the
rooms he says, It was in this apartment, also, that there stood against the western wall a gigantic
clock of ebony (Poe 370). The clock symbolizes the readers lifetime. The numbers on the clock
symbolize our age. When the clock strikes 12:00 we are born and when it makes it full circle
then we die. This symbol adds to the suspense in the story, especially in the instance of when the
clock struck at each hour. The whole party went silent and the choir stopped singing. This make
the clock an important symbol in the story because it relates an everyday to have a deeper
meaning. The final symbol in The Masque of Red Death is the character Red Death. In the
introduction of the story Red Death is described as fatal and that, Blood was its Avatar and its
seal (Poe 369). Using extreme detail to describe Red Death adds to the dark and suspenseful
atmosphere of the story. When Poe uses the description, The mask which concealed the visage was
made so nearly to resemble the countenance of a stiffened corpse that the closest scrutiny must have
had difficulty in detecting the cheat, it adds to the creepy atmosphere of the story (Poe

Informal Fallacies Of An Informal Fallacy
Our lives revolve around money. The value of a dollar does not buy much anymore; everything
comes with a price tag. The media likes to entice people with catchy slogans, celebrities or any
other setup just so they can obtain our money. Once they grasp our attention we realize most of
these attention grabbers had no relation to their argumentor what they are trying to sell. Thus the
correct term for the types of misleading ads and television commercials is called informal fallacies.
The purpose of an informal fallacycan be to enact reactions from the audience, used to discredit a
person or lastly appeal to a certain outlook. They mainly lack the validity in order to prove their
argument. The media provides us with many scenarios using different forms of informal fallacies.
I will provide three notable examples of informal fallacies by explaining the type of fallacy and why
the media used this fallacy.
To start off, I should first differentiate between a formal and informal fallacy. A formal argument
is when the argument lacks the correct structural form. The form of the fallacy will then be able
to tell us if the fallacy is valid or invalid. The difference is in the way the argument is written,
informal fallacies lack context in order to make the argument. For example, I came across a
nationwide commercial that took a different approach in order to sell to the public. Rather than sell
to their audience some reasons why they should chose to consult with the company they

It is also referred to as the water cycle. The Grand Canyon contains water resources called a
spring. The canyon contains numerous amounts of springs. They are also part of the hydrologic
cycle. A spring is a water resource formed when the side of a hill, a valley bottom or other
excavation intersects a flowing body of ground water at or below the local water table, below
which the subsurface material is saturated with water. (Perlman, 2011) They can live inside any
type of rock. The springs held within the Grand Canyon discharges groundwater, and this
groundwater supplies drinking water to the Canyon s visitors, Flagstaff, the Coconino Plateau,
etc. The Grand Canyon will continue to change over time. However, it is uncertain as to what
continued acts of weathering and mass wasting will do to it. Since the canyon was developed by
erosion, mass wasting and weathering, the constant shaping of the Grand Canyon will continue.
On the other hand, Geologists believe that the Grand Canyon will be affected by the Colorado
River weathering away at the rock. Over millions of years, weathering, mass wasting and erosion
have been said to form the Grand Canyon. With that said, the Canyon will grow larger, and the
mile deep canyon will greatly increase. Rocks, big and small, will continue to fall down the
Colorado River cutting through more rock layers. It is also predicted that the Grand Canyon will
have a shortage of water supply due to the growing population.

Romeo and Juliet Love Story by Taylor Swift. In the song Love Story if you actually read the

about 2 paramours fighting for a love so strong. As for the play, if you actually think about what
they re saying the story comes to life. The lyrics We were both young when I first saw you
explains that Romeo and Juliet were actually pretty young when they first saw each other. I

that in Scene 2 of this Act, act 2. Juliet is on her balcony talking to herself about how amazing
Romeo is, while Romeo sneaks in to see her. They keep quiet because Romeo is a Capulet while
Juliet is a Montague, and if either side found out about them, it would be bad news especially if

with being a Capulet and being a Montague, they fell in love in a hopeless place which kind of
reflects on or mirrors the lyrics, We found love in a hopeless place. They had to keep their love a

are not friends with the Capulets and want nothing to do with each other. Yellow Diamonds in the

Rudolf Diesel And The Invention Of The Diesel Engine
Rudolf Diesel is an infamous German innovator, mainly known for the invention of the Diesel
engine, which was named after him. However, Rudolf was not actually born in Germany but in
Paris, France on March 18th, 1858 and was the second of three children. His parents emigrated
from Bavaria to become leather goods manufacturers; their drive and creativity would ultimately
spark Rudolf s passion for inventing. The Diesel family was forced to move out of Paris due to
the Franco Prussian war in 1870. While the Diesel family settled in England, Rudolf s parents
figured it would be best to send Rudolf to Germany with his aunt and uncle so he could attend a
private school where his uncle taught mathematics. Rudolf demonstrated an inquisitive nature and
thirst for knowledge from an early age, however his parents did not encourage this. They would
much rather see Rudolf dive into the work force rather than pursuing an education. After finishing
his basic education at the top of the class, Rudolf applied and was accepted into the Industrial
School of Augsburg with a scholarship (Bellis, 2015).
After graduating in 1880 and with a few years of work experience under his belt, he began to
develop a steam engine using ammonia vapour. The results of this experiment were disastrous as
during testing the engine exploded and nearly killed him. In 1893, Rudolf published a paper with
designs of an engine based on the Carnot cycle; this created the foundation for the Diesel engine.

Examples Of Moral Compass
Moral Compass
Navigation helps individuals arrive to a given destination, but the human life also requires of such
navigation. Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue
and know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is
the soul that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is
immortal. Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul
is real. Such evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s
psychodynamic theory, which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both address that the soul s existence is
the personality of a human being.

Subsequently, greater evidence validates the soul s existence through Plato s theory of the
tripartite soul. Plato s theory is broken down into three separate parts: reason, spirit, and body
appetites. Plato defines reason to be the ability to use logic and language, while spirit is the
emotional drives humans feel such as anger or love. And, he defines body appetites as essentials
that the body requires to survive like food, water, and sex. Additionally, Plato states that together
these parts create a living organism or a human soul whose purpose is to be in a healthy state. To
attain the soul s healthy state all of the three parts must be balance and such balance is only
achieved when the element of reason leads spirit and body appetites. Otherwise the soul will
come across a dysfunction, which can cause further effects. For example, let s say individual X s
soul is not lead by reason, but instead by spirit; and one day X discovers that his girlfriend
cheated. X is not going to act reasonably instead he is going to act upon his emotional drives like
anger and frustration. Those emotional drives then cause his reason to be set aside reasonable
thought leaving a large possibility to become unstable. At an unstable state it can cause X s soul or
personality to be insecure or damaged. This is an example that shows what can occur when

Symptoms
There are many symptoms that can cause suspicion of Prostate Cancer. While very few men
show no signs or symptoms of this cancer many men show signs in their urine. ( Prostate Cancer
) Frequent urination, the frequent use of the bathroom, is one of the most common signs of
Prostate Cancer. During the night a male that possibly has this cancer uses the bathroom 6 to 7
times. ( Fact Sheet ) Other symptoms may include blood in the urine or semen, delayed or
slowed start of urinary stream and dribbling or leakage of urine. Bone pain or tenderness, along
with pain in bowel movements, can also be a major symptom, but not as common. ( Prostate

and is recommended to see a doctor for diagnostic testing.
Diagnosis
There are multiple methods for screening for Prostate Cancer; the most common is Digital Rectal

Factors Contributing For Public Organizations
3 Contributing Factors of Corruption in Public Organizations
The contributing factors of corruption refer to that some aspects can increase the degree of
corruption under the same condition of other aspects. These factors are various, this part will
concentrate on two factors: the scale of public organizations; the gap between revenue and
expenditure of fulfilling responsibility.
3.1 The Scale of Public Organizations
The operation of public organizations need to spend considerable amounts of financial and material
support (Dixit, 1997). The administrative expenditure of government covers everyday expenses (the
payment of payroll and office expenses) and capital expenditures (the procurement of office
supplies and the build of public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, with the expanding scale of government, the number of supervisory unit should
increase in order to avoid the abuse of power. Ultimately, the cost of supervision need to increase.
In conclusion, the administrative spending will increase with the expanding scale of government. It
supposes that the government revenue is lawful incomes, which means that lawful incomes can be
legally used as administrative spending. Following cases will occur: the government will continue
functioning if the government revenue is greater than the expenditure under the current conditions;
the government cannot afford the additional social and public welfare undertakings if the
government revenue is equal to the government spending under the current conditions, but the
public officials can still maintain their normal salaries and welfare; if the government revenue is
less than the government expenditure and the government generated the financial deficit, there are
three solutions: firstly, the government can cut down the number of workforce, thus the benefits of
some public officials will be influenced; secondly, the government can reduce the benefits of each
public official, this solution is difficult to implement because it will damage the legitimate interests
of every public official; or the government will cut down expenses on public utilities. In the light of
the definition of corruption, the last choice belongs to corrupt behaviors. Likewise, the last choice

How Did The Franco Regime Support The Spanish Government
The Spanish government and establishment were possibly the Franco regimes strongest tools in
asserting the regime s authority over the Spanish people. A new government was established after
the Spanish Civil War with a new main state party, new laws, and a new political system. Franco
was so well established at the end of the Spanish Civil Warthat no political opposition stood a
chance, including the Falange. In order to create a stable system of political power in Spain, the
Falange was fulfilled as a secondary partner in the Spanish government. With this partnership, they
were forced to support regime s policies without any say in the policy The regime s government
developed more stability and power after the Falange (now including members... Show more

The Spanish economy was near desolated after the Spanish Civil War. Thousands of workers
had been killed, businesses were destroyed, and the economic infrastructure was extremely
weakened. The Franco Regime first began to impose economic power in Spain s economy
through the construction of a government controlled trade union. The Spanish Trade Union
Organization, also known as the Vertical Syndicate, was established in 1940 (Preston, 1994). It
took away workers free will by forcing workers and owners together according to corporative
principles (Graham, 2016). The Vertical Syndicate was established as the only legal trade union,
all other trade unions were banned and intensely suppressed. Establishments like these, powered
with Franco s regime control, kept the people restricted and poor during the 40 s and 50 s.
Positive change wouldn t come to the Spanish Economy until after 1959 when the US and IMF
pressured Spain to adopt a free

Effects Of Effects On Local Populations
Effects on Local Populations
When the mining was occurring in the 40s the 60s, the city was thriving. The economy was
sustainable and life the people seemed to be great. Little care was taken in the disposal processes
or the hazardous aftermath material and once the mining was stopped, not only did horrible health
repercussions happen but the economy came to a dead holt as well. The lives and lively hoods of
the Mailuu Suu people are ruptured. Effects on the people include cancer, anemia, early death and
goiter, among others. Rates of cancer in Mailuu Suu are the highest in the country and the radiation
level is almost 30 times higher than normal levels. This is due to the uranium tailing in the region.

(Aitaliev et al., 2006)
A study carried out by the SCK CEN was done to evaluate how and how quickly the radioactive
materials could be transported to safe areas as the real danger of the tailings falling into the river
are very real. All it takes is a heavy rain fall to push the materials into the water. The people of the
area are ingesting locally grown foods and this is causing more than 90% of damage. This means
there should be close monitoring and restrictions on food crops to ensure safety. Also the dosages
due to inhaling radon in the air can be reduced by increasing ventilation in the houses and some
action should be taken to remove peoples who the ventilation cannot help. (Vandenhove et al., 2003)
Overall the DWDS does not provide good quality drinking water, and many of the wells used for
drinking water and irrigation are contaminated from the tailings seeping into the surface waters
and ground waters. The presences of arsenic in the water is well above the WHO acceptable
levels and this is very dangerous as arsenic is extremely toxic to humans and animals. Also the
levels of chlorine and selenium in some drinking wells, four in the area one located near a school
and used by a large number of children for drinking purposes, are well above the guidelines deemed
acceptable for quality of water intended for human consumption by the European Union Directive.

The Cost Of Real Money
However, with the LM curve moving to bring the economy to full employment, it seems
impossible, in this case, to have sustained price rises (i.e. inflation) as the monetary side seems
to close off the story entirely. One could subsequently argue that, as real wages (w/p) declined in
the process, then workers would try to bid their money wages back up and thus regenerate the
gap. However, recall that from the four quadrant IS LM diagram (our earlier Figure 4), when IS
LM centers on the full employment output level so that Y* = YF, then the labor market clears and
thus there are apparently no inherent dynamics to imply a rise in wages. If anything, a Pigou
Effect arising from the fall in real money balances ought to push the IS curve to the left and
actually generate unemployment so the implied dynamic might actually be a fall in money wages
(of course, in the process of the original adjustment, IS and LM could move concurrently to the left
and land at YF together, but then we are back to a full employment centered equilibrium). In short,
in an IS LM context, we can obtain price rises but, at least within the confines of the model, we
cannot obtain continuous inflationunless aggregate demand rises again for some reason and there is
no apparent reason why it will do so.
The problem, of course, returns to the old issue of what happens in that mysterious labor market
which was so murky in the Hicks Modigliani IS LM world. The Keynes Smithies story has
workers bargaining for

  • 4. Theme Of Hesitancy In Hamlet Rebecca Kallios 12/15/17 Final Essays Topic A. Hamlet s theme of hesitancy and action In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, the protagonist, Prince Hamlet, is summoned by the ghost of his father to seek revenge for his murder. Hamlet struggles to avenge his father s death as he is a complex character that is more analytical and introspective, which is apparent through the first person narrated soliloquys. As the play progresses, Hamlet s inability to act adds a great weight and pressure upon his shoulders as he wants to do right by his father as a noble son, yet he struggles to follow through. Eventually, Hamlet does kill Claudius but as a result of his hesitancy several additional lives are lost. In the revenge tragedy Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, William Shakespeare develops the theme of hesitancy through Hamlet s primary dilemma of avenging his father s murder. When Hamlet is first summoned by the ghost to kill Claudius, Hamlet seems eager and determined. When the ghost calls for him to, Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder (I.v.25), Hamlet exclaims, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/As meditation or the thoughts of love/May sweep to my revenge (I.v.29 31). When Hamlet talks to the ghost, he initially seems determined and ready to act, but with time to think Hamlet loses his motivation. Hamlet questions whether the ghost is truly his father s spirit. The importance of religion to Hamlet is apparent in his hesitation over the authenticity of the ghost. Protestants at this time, such as Hamlet, questioned the reality of ghosts as they believed they were the devil in disguise. In his Act II, scene II soliloquy, Hamlet expresses his concern over the reality of the ghost when he states, ...The spirit that I have seen/May be the devil: and the devil hath power/T assume a pleasing shape (II.ii.540 42). The power of God delays Hamlet s action, as he doesn t want to unjustly kill a person. Another cause for Hamlet s delay is that he wants proof of Claudius s guilt. Hamlet is distraught over the fact that his mother remarried so soon following her husband s death, especially to her husband s brother. In the Act I, scene II soliloquy, Hamlet states that ... • 5. How Transnational Corporations Affect the Sovereignty of a... How Transnational Corporations Affect the Sovereignty of a Nation Analysts agree that TNCs have altered the international relations principles that were once dominated by nation state relations (Kline, 2005).Transnational Corporations have in many ways exploited the weaknesses in the territorially guarded national laws. In many developing countries, organizations affiliated to external control have challenged and in some instances threatened government sovereignty. Economically stable countries such as the United States of America, have attempted to extend their influence to other countries of the world through TNC. This situation is what led to governments endorsing the non interference policy in national political affairs (United Nations, 2003). Interesting to note is the role that non governmental organizations played in this debate. Nongovernmental organizations have been known to not only exert political pressure on governments with little democratic space, but also collaborate with TNCs in this quest. (Heinrich, 2001). For example, many NGOs sort the active involvement of TNC in removal of the apartheid regime in South Africa. This in return, has created tension between these governments and the NGOs with the NGOs calling for the increased political involvement of the TNCs. Transnational Corporations have been steadfast in calling for respect, support and promotion of human rights (Kline, 2005). This has been done in reference to the United Nations Universal ... • 6. Design And Hermeneutic Phenomenology Research Paradigm Has... 10.4.5 Critique The critique of this model derives principally from the criticisms that can be levelled at the research methodology, particularly its non positivist approach, although a rationale for the single case study design and hermeneutic phenomenology research paradigm has been made above (Ch 5,6). Within its own epistemological terms a legitimate criticism of such a model of management might derive more generally from its potential irrefutability, following Popper s criticism of the pseudosciences , where a counter example is re interpreted within the frame of the model so as not to contradict it, for example a non charismatic leader s behaviour might be reinterpreted as having elements of the charismatic process, although they not being obvious. A second critique might be made building on the assumption that managerial effectiveness within an organisation in predicated on their ability to lead, mobilise and direct subordinates. As a result, it might be argued that the model covers a very small element of the overall leadership and management process, focussing exclusively on the manager s activity and leadership with their own subordinate team, and missing the larger organisational function of the leader, their entrepreneurial activity, and engagement with supraordinate managers. This is an acknowledged failing, based upon Parson s collectivist notion of power (@@@@ above), and there are some speculations and proposals for further research noted below. ... Crossbreeding is the science of altering DNA through the process of breeding two different animals. In order for these mutations to be possible the number of chromosomes each animal has must match. Some well known examples of this include the liger which is a cross between a lion and tiger, and the beefalo which is a mutation of a cow and a buffalo. Many people crossbreed for various reasons. Traditionally, equity for infrastructure projects was typically contributed by the sponsors and developers of the project. A major portion of the project investment was often obtained through debt financing, which accounted for about 6o% 7o% of the total investment required. Non sponsor investment has been largely in the form of debt, except in the case of public equity offerings. An inference from this is that governments should not only create conditions to facilitate foreign PE investment, but they should also take bold steps to develop the domestic PE industry. The presence of a strong domestic PE industry would be a catalyst to attract further foreign PE investment. A large proportion of investments in our sample consisted of single investor deals. The study of solely financed and syndicated deals highlighted the main motivations for syndication. The average investment amount in syndicated deals was higher than that of deals where there was only a single investor. However, there were no significant differences in the state variables between sole and syndicated deals. This showed that both sole and syndicated deals were taking place in similar operating environments. If the motivation of syndication was to leverage the diverse expertise among the investors with a view to reducing risk, then syndicated deals would have been expected in riskier environments, for example in states where the level of corruption was higher or the PRI value was lower. Since this has not been the case, we feel that capital pooling in order to fund larger projects has been the main motivation for syndication, rather than the ability to assume a higher level of operating environment risk. The overall characteristics of the operating environment also play an important role in attracting PE investment. Regional analysis shows that the East had the lowest ... • 16. Mother s Vs. Father s And Birthing Process Thesis Statement Mother s vs. Father s and birthing process. For a working woman, maternity leave is a standard part of giving birth. Physically, the new mother needs that time to recover from the birthing process, but there is an emotional reason, too. Experts preach over and over that for those first few weeks of a baby s life, it needs the interaction and touch of its mother to help with bonding to start their development on the right track. Shouldn t the father be part of that process as well? Shouldn t the father of the new child be able to take paternity leave from work? I believe they should, not only to bond with the child, but to help the mother with her recovery and to coordinate visitors, appointments and any errands that may be needed. Some people have a stigma that the mother is the one responsible for raising the child from birth. I respectfully disagree. I believe the father should be as much a part of a baby s first weeks as the mother. Why should a father be robbed of the intimate bonding time with his child just because he didn t physically give birth to them? I feel this would help the father take better care of the child when the mother returns to work, especially if the father is home at different times than the mother. Having time at home bonding with their father will help the child recognize him when their mother is not around and put them at ease. Studies have also shown that fathers who are home on paternity leave are more likely to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Personal organization can have direct impact on your small business s success. The movie opens with a scene of Dr. Strange performing surgeries with Dr. Christine Palmer, his friend throughout his typical work day. The importance of these first scenes is to show how important his hands are to him and the people around him. This scene is also important because it seems as though Strange has a love interest in Christine. During one of Strange s surgeries he successfully extracts a bullet from a man s brain and afterwards he is shown celebrating his success in the hallway of the hospital. This scene is relevant because it shows how much pride Strange has in himself and how much he believes that he can do anything. When the viewer gets to the beginning of the movie we are shown Strange s extravagant apartment and the physical things he values. It appears that Strange has a nice life until he gets into a horrendous car accident while on his way to a party. However, some holiday companies define adults as 12 years and over, therefore they are classed as an adult within this organisation, despite being under age to take part in numerous activities. Freud s model describes personality as a dynamic system guided by three psychological structures: the id, the ego, and the superego. The theory of the atavistic criminal, being born criminal, existed in certain individuals. This mannerism would periodically reappear and lead to crime, because of the primitive impulses that they were likely to possess, (Bartollas Schmalleger, 2014, p.58). Freud once stated, Where id is, there shall ego be (NotableQuotes, n.d, p. 1) According to Freud, most behavior involves activity of all three structures. The id the most primitive of the three structures, is concerned with instant gratification of basic physical needs and urges (Boundless, n.d. p.1). The media likes to entice people with catchy slogans, celebrities or any other setup just so they can obtain our money. Once they grasp our attention we realize most of these attention grabbers had no relation to their argumentor what they are trying to sell. Thus the correct term for the types of misleading ads and television commercials is called informal fallacies. The purpose of an informal fallacycan be to enact reactions from the audience, used to discredit a person or lastly appeal to a certain outlook. They mainly lack the validity in order to prove their argument. The media provides us with many scenarios using different forms of informal fallacies. I will provide three notable examples of informal fallacies by explaining the type of fallacy and why the media used this fallacy. To start off, I should first differentiate between a formal and informal fallacy. A formal argument is when the argument lacks the correct structural form. The form of the fallacy will then be able to tell us if the fallacy is valid or invalid. The difference is in the way the argument is written, informal fallacies lack context in order to make the argument. Following cases will occur: the government will continue functioning if the government revenue is greater than the expenditure under the current conditions; the government cannot afford the additional social and public welfare undertakings if the government revenue is equal to the government spending under the current conditions, but the public officials can still maintain their normal salaries and welfare; if the government revenue is less than the government expenditure and the government generated the financial deficit, there are three solutions: firstly, the government can cut down the number of workforce, thus the benefits of some public officials will be influenced; secondly, the government can reduce the benefits of each public official, this solution is difficult to implement because it will damage the legitimate interests of every public official; or the government will cut down expenses on public utilities. In the light of the definition of corruption, the last choice belongs to corrupt behaviors. Likewise, the last choice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. How Did The Franco Regime Support The Spanish Government The Spanish government and establishment were possibly the Franco regimes strongest tools in asserting the regime s authority over the Spanish people. A new government was established after the Spanish Civil War with a new main state party, new laws, and a new political system. Franco was so well established at the end of the Spanish Civil Warthat no political opposition stood a chance, including the Falange. In order to create a stable system of political power in Spain, the Falange was fulfilled as a secondary partner in the Spanish government. With this partnership, they were forced to support regime s policies without any say in the policy The regime s government developed more stability and power after the Falange (now including members... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Spanish economy was near desolated after the Spanish Civil War. Thousands of workers had been killed, businesses were destroyed, and the economic infrastructure was extremely weakened. The Franco Regime first began to impose economic power in Spain s economy through the construction of a government controlled trade union. The Spanish Trade Union Organization, also known as the Vertical Syndicate, was established in 1940 (Preston, 1994). It took away workers free will by forcing workers and owners together according to corporative principles (Graham, 2016). The Vertical Syndicate was established as the only legal trade union, all other trade unions were banned and intensely suppressed. Establishments like these, powered with Franco s regime control, kept the people restricted and poor during the 40 s and 50 s. Positive change wouldn t come to the Spanish Economy until after 1959 when the US and IMF pressured Spain to adopt a free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Effects Of Effects On Local Populations Effects on Local Populations When the mining was occurring in the 40s the 60s, the city was thriving. The economy was sustainable and life the people seemed to be great. Little care was taken in the disposal processes or the hazardous aftermath material and once the mining was stopped, not only did horrible health repercussions happen but the economy came to a dead holt as well. The lives and lively hoods of the Mailuu Suu people are ruptured. Effects on the people include cancer, anemia, early death and goiter, among others. Rates of cancer in Mailuu Suu are the highest in the country and the radiation level is almost 30 times higher than normal levels. This is due to the uranium tailing in the region. Most residents die in their early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Aitaliev et al., 2006) A study carried out by the SCK CEN was done to evaluate how and how quickly the radioactive materials could be transported to safe areas as the real danger of the tailings falling into the river are very real. All it takes is a heavy rain fall to push the materials into the water. The people of the area are ingesting locally grown foods and this is causing more than 90% of damage. This means there should be close monitoring and restrictions on food crops to ensure safety. Also the dosages due to inhaling radon in the air can be reduced by increasing ventilation in the houses and some action should be taken to remove peoples who the ventilation cannot help. (Vandenhove et al., 2003) Overall the DWDS does not provide good quality drinking water, and many of the wells used for drinking water and irrigation are contaminated from the tailings seeping into the surface waters and ground waters. The presences of arsenic in the water is well above the WHO acceptable levels and this is very dangerous as arsenic is extremely toxic to humans and animals. Also the levels of chlorine and selenium in some drinking wells, four in the area one located near a school and used by a large number of children for drinking purposes, are well above the guidelines deemed acceptable for quality of water intended for human consumption by the European Union Directive. The concentrations of uranium in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Cost Of Real Money However, with the LM curve moving to bring the economy to full employment, it seems impossible, in this case, to have sustained price rises (i.e. inflation) as the monetary side seems to close off the story entirely. One could subsequently argue that, as real wages (w/p) declined in the process, then workers would try to bid their money wages back up and thus regenerate the gap. However, recall that from the four quadrant IS LM diagram (our earlier Figure 4), when IS LM centers on the full employment output level so that Y* = YF, then the labor market clears and thus there are apparently no inherent dynamics to imply a rise in wages. If anything, a Pigou Effect arising from the fall in real money balances ought to push the IS curve to the left and actually generate unemployment so the implied dynamic might actually be a fall in money wages (of course, in the process of the original adjustment, IS and LM could move concurrently to the left and land at YF together, but then we are back to a full employment centered equilibrium). In short, in an IS LM context, we can obtain price rises but, at least within the confines of the model, we cannot obtain continuous inflationunless aggregate demand rises again for some reason and there is no apparent reason why it will do so. The problem, of course, returns to the old issue of what happens in that mysterious labor market which was so murky in the Hicks Modigliani IS LM world. The Keynes Smithies story has workers bargaining for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
