The Comparison of the Workflow Management Systems Bizagi, Arabdox, Bonita and...inventionjournals
This paper aimed to provide comparison study among four of the most famous Business Process Management Systems, Bizagi, Arabdox, Bonita, and Joget. Bizagi and Arabdox are close source, while Bonita and Joget are open source. The comparison framework has developed based on the plurality features that needed to be interacted when developing workflow system. Simple business process was used as case study that describes a small account payable BPM system. Systems have been developed and measured using those tools. After that the comparison was done according to the framework. In the end the results are pointing according the given measurement. According to our framework and selected features the study found that the Bonita has the best performance and the second is Bizagi. However, this by no means is a complete comparison. In business process modeling Bizagi and Bonita outclasses the other tools. However in form aspects Bonita and Joget excels to Bizagi and Arabdox.

Suggest an intelligent framework for building business process management [ p...ijseajournal
As companies enter into the digital world, information technology is playing a major role in bringing
process improvements to the forefront of business management. In the recent decades, many organizations
have struggled to redesign and improve their business processes to reduce their total cost. The main
contribution of this research study is to propose an intelligent framework that possesses the ability to
employ a database of best practices, business standards, and business activity history in order to permit the
manager to analyze and improve the design of the business processes.
In addition, the other objective of this research is to build a business process or workflow directly from its
process design logic in order to enable rapid process development and deployment. This procedure
requires some technical improvements of the business design, as it is mainly based on building the business
process using Microsoft Office Visio, which communicates the defined business process to the business
process management engine.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
2. Welcome Keith Chan, BMath ‘11Candidate for Master of Accounting at University of Waterloo School of Accounting and FinanceCA Student ACC626- IT Assurance & Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) Instructor: Professor Malik Datardina, MAcc, CA, CISA
3. Agenda Overview of Documentation Techniques and Technologies Relevance for C-Suite Executives Documentation Techniques and Technological Aids for Practitioners Current Issues for Documentation Recommendations
4. A. Overview Auditors: Understanding business processes and provide analysis to management Narrative and Diagrammatic Documentation to depict: Business models Business process modelling
5. Types of Documentation Narrative documentation- systematic documentation of business processes in writing Diagrammatic documentation- utilize diagrams to depict business processes
6. Uses of Documentation Business process modelling- simplified depiction of a business process (Carnaghan) Business models- representation of a company’s network that includes value proposition, activities, assets, suppliers, customers, potential rivals, competitors, etc. (Alencar, Boritz, Carnaghan)
7. Why is Documentation So Important? Alencar, Boritz, and Carnaghan: Altering the presentation of information provided to auditors about the business model can improve their audit risk assessment decisions. Parker- strong connection between understanding of business knowledge, documentation, and communication of findings to management and auditors
8. Guidelines for Audit Documentation in General Sayana (ISACA Journal): “All documentation should relate to the appropriate subject and audit objective”. (Overall Guideline) Documentation may be a record of points from an interview; topic of discussion, person (client) interviewed, position and designation, time and place should be clearly documented. (Narrative) Documentation serves as a record of the auditor’s observations over the re-performance of their client’s work, including place and time. (Narrative and Diagrammatic)
9. Guidelines for Audit Documentation in General (2) Sayana (ISACA Journal): The information systems auditor should include details such as audit objectives and the assertions tested. (Narrative) Auditors should not rely solely on template audit work programs, but to fill in other details mentioned in previous points. (Narrative)
10. B. Relevance for C-Suite Executives Strong documentation skills are often required by management, auditors, and IT assurance professionals. use documentation techniques to record information required as part of the audit procedures for a client. IT audit and assurance professionals need to use “effective measurement and benchmarking” (Parker)
11. Techniques and Aids for Practitioners Narrative Processes- propositional/sentence-based structure Diagrammatic- use of models Business Process Documentation (recommended by ISACA) General Modeling Methodologies
12. Narrative Process Alencar, Boritz, and Carnaghan: “text format more superior to the Diagram format for focusing auditors’ attention on the implications of business model changes on financial statement account changes.” Boritz, Borthick and Presslee: “the method of representing the business process had no effect on participants’ accuracy and efficiency in performing control risk assessments”, … as long as the narrative presentation are equivalent in the information contained.
13. Business Process Documentation (diagrammatic) CISA: growing need to participate in business process reengineering (BPR) engagements to “design new process or improve existing processes [in the company] to replace out-dated and inefficient processes” Obtaining documentation and providing documentation are identified as core tasks within the BPR methodology: Envision, Diagnose, Redesign, and Evaluate.
14. CISA Recommended Documentation Tools (1) Process Maps- use of flow charts, fish-bone Risk Assessment- use narrative documentation to record suggestions from interviewing, brainstorming, Delphi technique Benchmarking- “translate the findings into hypothesis”
18. General Modelling Methodologies (4) IDEF0/IDEF3- transformation of inputs, outputs and controls of each process Diagram:Carnaghan (2006)
19. General Modelling Methodologies (5) Extended Event-driven Process Chain (EPC) diagram- completechain of activitiesachieved by a businessprocess Diagram:Carnaghan (2006)
21. General Modelling Methodologies (7) Business Process diagrams/Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN)- further decomposed Diagram:Carnaghan (2006)
22. Summary of Section C Neither type of documentation (narrative or diagrammatic) is more superior than the other Several approaches should be used in conjunction with each other, such as IDEF0, IDEF3, and DFD modelling, in order to offset each model’s limitations.
23. Current Issues Recent studies have proved that narrative approach is just as effective as diagrammatic approach. CA practitioners and IT assurance professionals have both options to choose to represent the required information in documentation.
24. Recommendations CA practitioner or IT assurance professional should: develop strong business knowledge understand their users and learn the various methods of documentation available to reach the required audit objective and meet management’s expectations.
