Tragic Definitions
Mary cannot be blamed for being introduced to morphine and Tyrone cannot be condemned for his
poor Irish upbringing. However, Tyrone chose to postpone dealing with his son s tuberculosis until it
was too late, which put a strain on their relationship. And, Mary voluntarily chastises her sons as a
means to distract from her erratic behavior causing a riff in their relationships. The Tyrones are the
writers of their own tragedy. They cannot blame anyone but themselves for the sorry sight that is their
reality. In Eugene O Neill s Long Day s Journey Into Night, the characters have no control over the
obstacles they face, but it s their use of deceit and aversion tactics in dealing with their state of affairs
that defines their tragic fate.

The family is constantly inching forward and moving backward, (Brustein 195). As soon as they get to
the point of conceding they back down and forget. But even at the moment that the truth is being
blurted out, an apologetic retraction is being formed, says Sewall in his analysis. They may try to face
their problems but not to an extent of actually resolving anything. It s as though the family believes
but ignoring their problems they are better helping the family, yet it is this that leads to the family s
breaking of bonds. The Tyrones make themselves out to be prisoners of their pasts by using excuses to
cover up their faults which ultimately lead to their failed relationships. The men in the family never
explicitly tell Mary they are concerned about her, her addiction, and that they wish to help her. They
take no responsibility in helping Mary yet constantly complain about how her addiction has affected
the family. Their lives are tragic but they are the sole writers of their tragedy.
The Tyrones continually use their circumstances as a patsy for the failed familial relationships that are
caused by their deceitful nature. The Tyrones are in a constant state of denial, as they never once
acknowledge that their reactions have an impact on their lives. They believe that by averting the blame
for their actions they can avoid the consequences, but they ultimately find out that

Cost Of Professional Sports Essay
Professional sports in the United States have served as a staple for consumer entertainment for over a
century, while at the same time providing a sense of unity that a community can rally behind. When an
owner wants to acquire or create a new franchise, they rely heavily on the surrounding community to
help fund and support its creation. While many of these individuals have adequate funds to do this on
their own, they argue that the community will reap a large expense of the reward from establishing a
team and push the burden of large fixed costs on the community. Due to the unpredictable demand for
professional sports, do the costs associated with a franchise outweigh the assumed risks placed on a
community? When a professional sports team decides to move to a city, several factors are analyzed
and required before their arrival. One of the more important decisions made is where will the team
play? Accounting as one of the greatest expenses, constructing an arena or stadium is a fixed cost
taken on by a local government and its community. Opened in the mid 1990 s, The Edward Jones
Dome once served as a beacon of hope for the people of St. Louis for their newly acquired football
team. Fans and taxpayers were promised that the acquisition of the team would generate ... Show more

Things such as the stadium, players, and coaches are a few of the major fixed costs that are necessary
for a team to exist. These costs are paid no matter what, regardless of whether there is any revenue. If
a team tends to follow an unsuccessful track, the interest of the consumer deteriorates and potential
revenue is lost along with it. With a negative ATC and MC linked to the marginal revenue, a franchise
reaches a point where it can no longer produce at a loss, forcing the owner to seek for a new market of

Chisholm Essay
Your Involvement
Federal Electorate
Chisolm: The electorate of Chisholm is named after Caroline Chisholm (1800 1877). She was a noted
social worker and advocate for immigration of New South Wales. She helped newly immigrated
women in New South Wales to find shelter, dispersed the unemployed to the country so that they
could find work and improved the conditions for workers in goldfields in Victoria.
The current sitting member for Chisholm is Anna Burke. She is a member of the Australian Labor
Party. She has been serving the electorate of Chisholm since 1998 and served as a Speaker for the
House of Representatives during the 43rd Parliament. In 2005, Burke moved a Private Member s Bill
in the Federal Parliament to create a Do Not Call list to protect people from unwanted telemarketing
calls.
Recently, Burke declared that she supports same sex marriage, which takes the lower house to 75 MPs
in favour of same sex marriage. Seventy six votes are needed to pass a bill.
The Australian Labor Party, which Burke is part of, is strongly against the Coalition s budgets cuts
from education and annual science and innovation funding. While in Government, Labor boosted
science and innovation investment to $9.6 million in 2013 2014 alone. Labor claims that these cuts are

Consultation Proposal
This report is an IT consultant for a small advertising company called MilleniAds. In this consultation
I will go over the best hardware, software, networking and information security options for the
company. MilleniAds consists of 10 employees, each employees will need a laptop.
Hardware Requirements
Since the employees will be traveling I would recommend the Dell Latitude tablet/laptop, which offers
an Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 processor, Pentium DC with the 128 SSD and 4GB ram apx. $700,
Intel Core i3 with the 128 SSD and 4GB ram apx. $900 to the Intel Core i5 with the 256 SSD and

Dropbox Business for a year is $20.00 a month / $240.00 a year. This will allow each member of your
team to get enough space to back up important information no matter the file size and allows members
to edit a presentation with teammates without emailing files back and forth. As for purchasable
software, there s the Microsoft Suite which includes, Outlook, Word, Power Point, One Note, Access,
and Publisher. This will cost $99.99 a year. The company should also purchase Adobe Photoshop and
Illustrator for the design team. For the sales team, CEO, designers, and financial team I would
recommend purchasing Office 365 Business.
Networking Requirements Since MelleniAds is a traveling graphic design company they would need
remote access, and user access but also secure means to access their systems. Bases on the needs of
MelleniAds, as well as the hardware/software requirements that I have looked at so far, I recommend a
client/server network setup. This would allow the companies data and resources to be kept in a central
location, so the administrators can keep a need to know for their employees and can form groups and
assign permissions. Client/Server networks also allow for devices/users to be easily removed when
they are not needed anymore.
When considering the Network Type I recommend a mix of both wired for the printers and computers
that will stay per mentally at the office, and

What Is Hale s Role In The Play Trifles
Trifles is a play that revolves around the death of Mr. Wright. Henry Peters, the acting sheriff and the
county attorney, Mr. George Henderson, arrive at the Wright s farmhouse with witnesses, Mr. Lewis
Hale, Mrs. Peters, and Mrs. Hale. Mr. Hale describes and recites how he discovered Mrs. Wright,
acting strange, as she rocked eerily back and forth, pleating her apron. She claimed that Mr. Wright
was murdered in his sleep, while she slept soundly next to him. Regardless of the notion that there was
a gun discovered in the farmhouse, Mr. Wright was brutally strangled with a rope. The women, Mrs.
Peters and Mrs. Hale, are oddly concerned and show great worry about the trifles found in the case.
The attorney allows for the women to collect a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dead bird, draped in cloth, with a rope around its neck, is the most critical piece of evidence and
proved Mrs. Wright s character. She was dreary, and had pent up anger that was related to her
marriage; she was not joyous and happy, she had withdrawn from the church choir and now, could
barely finish her household chores. Mrs. Wright was an exhausted woman, quite possibly insane and
she longed for nothing more than freedom and liberation from the heavy weight in her life, her
husband. It can be concluded that Mrs. Wright did have a recognizable, and reasonable motive. Her
husband had depleted and destroyed her happiness. The bird acts as a symbolism for Mrs. Wright s
sanity, or what remained. When the bird was gruesomely strangled and its neck was snapped, she too
snapped and grew deranged and irrational. In the instance that the bird stopped living, Mr. Wright, too,
had declared his future and

The following paper will compare and contrast corporate governance in the U.S. and European Union.
Because corporate governance regulations are not yet uniform across all EU countries, we have

The hope of this principle is to establish an environment of honesty and accountability by focusing the
board and management on possible areas of ethical risk, as well as establishing protocol for employees
to follow when presented with ethical dilemmas.
The eleventh rule refers to the need of private issuers to disclose any significant difference in
corporate governance practices compared to domestic companies listed under the New York Stock
Exchange (NYSE, 17). This requirement is not made to presume that any country s corporate
governance is better than another. The rule is in place to solely ensure investors are informed of any
significant differences in corporate governance.
Rule twelve is concerned with CEOs certifying annually that their companies are not in violation of
any of the NYSE corporate governance listed standards. The premise of rule twelve, is to ensure that
companies are in compliance with rules one through eleven. This information must also be available
to shareholders and filed with the SEC.
The last rule, thirteen, is aimed at the NYSE itself, and not its listed companies. The rule stipulates
that the NYSE may issue a public reprimand to any listed company that violates a NYSE listing
standard (NYSE, 18). This rule was enacted as a lesser sanction to deter companies from wavering
from listed standards. Without this available recourse, repercussions are suspending trading in and
delisting a listed company. Both are detrimental

The Strategies of Globalization and Regionalization
Globalization and Regionalization: As a concept that has become common since the 1990s,
globalization is described as the technological, economic, cultural, ideological, and economic changes
across borders. It can also be regarded as the transformation of the global economy through the
anarchy of financial markets or a technological revolution with social impacts. In contrast,
regionalization is the growth of societal integration within a specific area that incorporates all the
undirected procedures of economic and social interactions among the units in the region. Since these
concepts are different in nature, they contain various strategies that are only effective in specific
situations.
Strategies of Globalization and Regionalization: The concept of globalization has become a prevalent
phenomenon in the past two decades because of the changes it has brought and the adoption of its
strategies by multinational corporations or companies. The economic changes of globalization include
the strengthening of economic inter dependence, internationalization of production, and enhanced
mobility of transnational corporations. On the other hand, trade liberalization, privatization, and
deregulation are the ideological changes emanating from this concept. Kacowicz (1998) states that the
technological changes include information and communication revolutions that have minimized the
world while the trends towards a universal world culture and synchronization of standards are

Fa Mu Lan, Brave Orchid
The Women Warriors
Warriors come in all shapes and sizes, including Chinese women. Growing up in America, Maxine
Hong Kingston does not know what kind of Chinese girl to be. She is conditioned to expect to be a
wife or a slave, but she dreams of the warrior she knows she could be. The warrior motif is an
extremely important part of Hong Kingston s memoir, referring as it does to Fa Mu Lan, Brave
Orchid, and Hong Kingston, herself. All three of these women display their inner warrior by defying
the traditional cultures of what is expected of Chinese women.
Fa Mu Lan is a genuine woman warrior because she proves that Chinese women can be capable, and
at the same time, fulfill the duties of a traditional Chinese woman. Hong Kingston is careful to point
out that Fa Mu Lan is a warrior and a woman, not one or the other. By becoming a war hero, Fa Mu

As a little girl, Hong Kingston has trouble speaking, but throughout the book, she eventually finds her
voice. This is most apparent when she is finally able to stand up to her mother and declare her list.
Hong Kingston writes that once she started speaking, the words kept pouring out (200). Not only does
Hong Kingston have an epiphany regarding her power of speech, but she also proves that she will not
grow up only to be a wife or slave, she too is a warrior. Also, Hong Kingston uses her power with
words to write her book, The Woman Warrior. Through selectively compiling stories, Hong Kingston
has the power to choose which stories define her. She can write her own story differently, to give a
different spin on it, and to remember it as she wishes it were, like she did with Fa Mu Lan. In
conclusion, Hong Kingston realizes, as much as longs to be a ferocious warrior, she conscious that her
true power is in her

User Assistance Paper
User assistance is an important part of any product that helps to improve user experience with a
particular product. Many products that are released for global markets require that user assistance help
and documentation be translated in multiple languages for specific target locales. This paper presents
the process of optimizing user assistance help content for translation in the following two categories:
writing suggestions and technical considerations.
Writing suggestions 1. Use a style guide. A style guide defines the grammar, syntax and tone
translators should use to facilitate a higher quality of translation and convey the source content
accurately.
2. Develop a terminology glossary. A glossary should provide a comprehensive set of terminology that
includes product names, trademarked terms, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simplify the written language. To make documents clear and easy to translate, keep headlines and sub
headlines parallel. Use the same term to mean the same thing throughout the documentation. This can
be implemented through the utilization of a source style guide and glossary.
4. Include universal units of measure. Different countries use different units of measure. Lack of
clearly defined units of measure can cause significant confusion and costly errors. Therefore, it is
important to include both metric and imperial measurements in the documentation.
5. Include international phone and date formats. Because phone numbers and date formats vary from
region to region, these formats should be displayed correctly in the source and translated copies of
documentation. For example, in the U.S., phone numbers are expressed as (425) 517 2577. However,
international customers also need to know the country code, which for the US is +1. Thus, displaying
the phone number as +1 425.517.2577 helps international customers. Likewise, many countries use
dd/mm/yyyy. To avoid confusion, it is necessary to indicate clearly which date format is used or to
spell out the

`` Sweetness `` By Toni Morrison
What is racism? Racism is a projection of our own fears onto another person. What is sexism? It s our
own vulnerability of our potency and masculinity projected as our need to subjugate from another
person... Gary Ross s breakdown of the age defying constructions of race and sexism exemplify how
fabricated standards can take a toll on the well being of individuals. American novelist Toni Morrison
is renowned for her publications illustrating how racial stigma can dent a character physically,
mentally and emotionally. Sweetness , an excerpt from God Help the Child, one of Morrison s more
recent works, follows the narrative of a guilt stricken mother who allowed society s predetermined
notions of race interfere with her parenting, as her daughter was undeniably black while she and her
husband have negro roots but are lighter skinned or high yellow . As the story develops, it is obvious
that the narrator, Lula Ann s mother feels some sort of resentment for mistreating her child and
holding her back from experiencing a blissful childhood like other youngsters, but is too shameful to
admit it. With time, tables turn and Lula Ann, Lula Mae s daughter is able to regain her self esteem,
moves away, builds a career, and is preparing to settle down with a family of her own and change her
miserable fate given to her by her parents. Morrison successfully translates the destructive effects of
prioritizing racial constructs through varied elements including: characterization, point of

Reality Tv Social Aspects
Madi Fisher
Media and Society
Paper 1
Social Aspect of Television
Socialization is a fundamental aspect in the life of relatively every human. In the absence of having
the ability or strength to interact socially, we tend to steer away from social norms and isolate
ourselves. One may consider that watching television correlates with the effects of anti socialization
although, one may argue that is not the case. Television is a form of socialization that provides
common ground for people to bond over, allows those lacking a social life to create their own social
word, and provides an environment for conversation.
Taking a look at our society today, television is a dominant way in which humans bond and interact
with one another. According to Susan J. Douglas, Reality TV came to replace, in particular, the lineup
of TV news magazines that had dominated various network schedules in the 1990s. (p. 632). Having a
wider array of reality television gives viewers an immense relationship or connection with the
characters. Douglas then states, ...The structure of the show invites us to empathize with them, judge
them, or both. (p. 633). In this specific quote Douglas is referring to them as the characters in the
reality television shows. Considering we empathize or judge these characters, it gives us a ... Show

Television allows these individuals a chance at creating their own social worlds. Many individuals
become emotionally attached to characters in specific television shows or series and start to produce

interconnections with characters, they imagine that they obtain legitimate relationships in their lives.

Speech and Deception in John Milton s Paradise Lost Essay
Speech and Deception in Milton s Paradise Lost
Rhetoric and sophistry testify to the fact that the world in which we live is a world of speech, that the
clever man can compose at will in order to trick others. 1
Speech was perhaps the most important medium for Milton. As a blind poet, his lack of visual
faculties was augmented by a renewed importance on auditory paths to enlightenment, especially the
communicative. Therefore, contemplation of dialogue in Paradise Lost becomes an essential tool for
developing a correct understanding of the characters, as Milton would have intended. Nowhere is this
truer than with the character of Satan. Throughout the text, his rhetoric exists as a window to the
nature of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, here, as throughout much the poem, Satan continues to hedge the other side of the
argument, insisting that he isn t forced to do evil by opposing God, but that to do ill our sole delight
(160). This belief that he has a choice in the matter is tied up in the misconception that he was, and
continues to be, equal to God, as reason hath equall d (248) them. Quite to the contrary, Milton makes
it clear that the will And high permission of all ruling Heaven Left him at large to his own dark
designs (211 3). And it is only Satan s perverted sense of reason that convinces him that The mind is
its own place, and in itself Can make a Heav n of Hell, a Hell of Heav n (254 5). He believes that his
reason and contemplation will help him discover How overcome this dire Calamity (189), or failing
that, change his will such that it fits his current circumstance. This is the classic method of the

The Cultural Dimensions Of National Culture
CULTURE
A set of basic assumptions shared solutions to universal problems of external adaptation (how to
survive) and internal integration (how to stay together) which have evolved over time and are handed
down from one generation to the next. (Schein, 1985). Culture is divided in into 2 categories one is
National Culture and second is Organisational Culture. NATIONAL CULTURE National Culture is
regarded as the pattern of thinking, feeling, and acting (Hofstede, 1991, p.4), which every person has
acquired in childhood and carries along throughout life (Hofstede, 1991). National culture is
something a group of people or society or a city or a country follows. Its customs traditions. As Quin
Marrow s company is based in Los Angeles and was going to have a joint venture with a Peruvian
company. These both have very different national culture. Hofstede in his study identified six major
cultural dimensions.
Power distance index
Individualism
Uncertainty avoidance
Masculinity
Long term orientation
Indulgence

Hofstede s Power distance Index measures the extent to which the less powerful members of
organisations accept and expect that power is distributed unequally. Australia has a 36 on the cultural
scale of Hofstede s analysis and Peru has 64. Australia has almost equal distribution among rich and
poor as compared to Peru.

Colonial Rule of the Dominican Republic Essays
In The Beginning
The first instance of colonialism forced upon the inhabitants of the Dominican Republic was the
discovery by Christopher Columbus on October 12, 1492. Ernesto Sagas and Orlando Inoa presented
the interaction in their book The Dominican People: A Documentary History. The confrontation
between these two diametrically opposed cultures proved to be far from equal; the Amerindians Stone
Age culture was no match for European military technology. The initial encounter took place on the
Caribbean island of Hispaniola, part of which is now the Dominican Republic (Inoa pg. 1). This was
the first step in a trek through five and a half centuries of Dominican Republic history, and

2). Hence the discussion of colonialism could no longer be a question of the Western Hemisphere
remaining an untouched Eden; rather, one can only chronicle the repercussions of this fated event.
Independence, Part 1
In 1821 the Dominicans rebelled against their Spanish colonizers, and succeeded in declaring
independence. However, it was only nine weeks before the country was again forced to submit to the
rule of another sovereign nation, Haiti. As Jan Lundius and Mats Lundahl stated in their book Peasants
and Religion: A socioeconomic study of Dios Olivorio and the Palma Sola Movement in the
Dominican Republic: In February 1822, the Haitian president, Jean Pierre Boyer; gained control of the
entire island of Hispaniola without resistance, at the head of a 12,000 man invading army. The
Haitians were to stay until 1844, when the Spanish speaking population which had revolted the year
before proclaimed the free and independent Dominican Republic (Lundahl pg. 425). This was a very
radical occupation, where Boyer attempted to reshape the Dominican Republic to how he thought it
should be. One of his largest projects, was the confiscation of church and immigrant lands, and
subsequently its redistribution. This, coupled with the destruction of large plantations, created a
peasant class for the first time in the Dominican Republic.

Visibility In Macbeth Essay
The question of visibility in Shakespeare s Macbeth, doesn t quite abide by the same straightforward
literal invisibility as found in The Tempest or The Witch of Edmonton. The instances of questionable
visibility in Macbeth are the hallucinations of the bloody dagger and the ghost of Banquo by Macbeth,
and the hallucination of blood on her hands by Lady Macbeth. Each of these moments are moments in
which the visibility of the vision is split. To the character who sees the vision it is most obviously
discernible, however the vision is not necessarily visible to the audience or the other characters, thus
functioning as a form of the unseen. In Scene 1, Act II, as Macbeth prepares to kill Duncan, he
hallucinates a bloody dagger saying: Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my
hand? The dagger isn t visible to the audience, i.e. it isn t written into the stage directions, but rather it
is Macbeth who reveals through his soliloquy that he is seeing something that is unseen by the
audience. The significance of it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does the barrier of the seen and the unseen provide the setting for a play in which witchcraft
is central, but it also allows the playwright to use it as an extra tool for influencing and driving the
plot. It adds to the mystery of unnatural occurrences, evoking reactions from characters, but it also
allows for a layered approach to plot development, seeing as not all the events unfold as a result of
direct and open interference. The forms in which invisibility is employed vary from the literal to the
symbolic, providing different roles for it in the plays. Whether the role is one of symbolic
representation or literal manifestation, the influence of the unseen is crucial to the manner in which the
plot progresses and characters evolve. Invisibility is the tool that allows for the diversification of the

Diseases of the cardiovascular and lymphatic system can present itself in many ways. Often these
diseases circulate through the body creating a vehicle for pathogens to spread. We will look at four
different diseases that affect the cardiovascular and lymphatic system. Plague is an infectious disease;
it had a deadly effect on human history. The plague was known as Black Death in the middle ages.
The causative agents of the plague are Yersinia pestis Gram negative bacteria. This bacterium is
usually spread through contact with the vectors or in this case the oriental rat flea, which usually have
direct contact humans. The oriental rat fleas feed on the reservoirs such as Rodents, rats, mice and

The causative agent is Filoviridae ebolavirus. There is no known reservoir for the virus, although
scientists believe that fruit bats may be a possible reservoir because they harbor the disease without
showing any signs or symptoms. Once infected with the virus the symptoms, usually do not appear for
two to twenty one days, which resembles the flu and often mistaken or misdiagnosed as the flu.
However, as the disease progress, bleeding from the inside is noticeable through stool, coughing up
blood, bleeding from the eyes and ears. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this deadly infection
and usually involves treating the symptoms as they appear. Nursing interventions are a major part in
treating the patient and possible survival from this disease. Priority nursing interventions include,
watching for any changes in the patient s respiration rate and pattern, monitor the patient s fluid and
electrolyte imbalance, intake and output. Also, check and monitor complete blood count and
coagulation studies for signs of blood loss and coagulopathy, monitor and test stools, urine and

The Effects of Music on Reaction Time in Human Beings
When performing many feats of physical skill, calculating how fast a person can perform the action
has become a custom that has gained prominence in recent years. Observing how long it takes a
person to perform an action, now known as observing the reaction time, has even gained enough
importance to the point that it has even used in some scientific investigations. The purpose of this
scientific investigation, for instance, is to test whether or not an outside force, such as music, will

Donders experiment with mental chronometry eventually became more developed during the middle
twentieth century.
In 1978, Michael Posner had an experiment in which he used used a series of letter matching studies
to measure the mental processing time of several tasks associated with recognition of a pair of letters .
Posner had performed many tests, after which he used the subtraction method in order to determine
the approximate amount of time that it took for subjects to perform each of the cognitive processes
associated with each of [the] tasks . Mental chronometry also had a huge effect on hierarchal network
models, as they became largely discarded after some findings related to mental chronometry. In years
to come, with the invention of neuroimaging techniques such as the functional Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (fMRI) and the Positron Emission Tomograhpy (PET), psychologists began to modify their
mental chronometry paradigms for functioning imaging. The development of technology made the
study of mental chronometry more popular, in which mental chronometry was used in by performing
tasks based on reaction time which measures through neuroimaging the parts of the brain which are

Analysis Of Le Cafe De Nuit
Le Café de Nuit by Vincent van Gogh is possibly one of Van Gogh s most famous paintings, located at
the Yale Art Gallery in New Haven, CT. It stands at 28 1/2 inches tall and has a width of 36 1/4 inches,
and for being nearly 130 years old this piece is extremely well preserved. This is an oil painting done
on canvas circa 1888, that depicts the Café de l Alcazar, a place where van Gogh often ate his meals,
and watched as the walls of this building slowly filled with prostitutes and vagrants each night. In a
letter to his brother, the night café was vibrantly explained for exactly what is seen now on the canvas.
The strong linear pattern in this painting is directly related to the one point perspective used in crafting
the room and the furniture in it. The floor boards are the strongest representation of the linear pattern,
pushing the viewers eye diagonally back from the negative space in the bottom left corner, to lively
back wall of the room that is cluttered with a bar, an open door, and fellow civilians sitting at a table.
Other objects like the pool table in the middle of the room, assorted side tables and the paneling on the
walls also helps to guide the eye in the same way. The inherent nature of this line pattern is to create a
sense of depth in the room and a sense of space across the entirety of the picture plane. The rhythm of
the objects in the room follow a mostly mellow, legato pattern with some staccato characteristics. A
legato rhythm is found in the

Spirit Airlines Pricing Strategy Essay
Spirit Airlines, the leading ultra low cost, no frills carrier; the worst all round Carrier charges for every
service besides the basic fare. For this purpose, this paper will discuss the Carrier ticket distribution
channels, pricing strategy and product promotion.
Direct and Indirect marketing channels.
Generally, Spirit airlines distribute tickets through both Direct and Indirect channels. With direct
distribution, the airline sells tickets via direct contact with customers. Consequently, the indirect
channel involves selling through channel intermediaries like wholesalers and retailers.
Direct Channel
Firstly, Spirit s lowest cost distribution channel is Spirit.com, seventy eight percent of ticket sales are
made through this channel; therefore, lowest fares offer to customers, appear only on their website.
Ordinarily, the advantage of this channel eliminates markups or commissions to intermediaries. One

Economy Pricing Strategy

Airline adopts the a la carte pricing model, the basic fare paid buys only the flight itself and frills are
charged separately. Furthermore, the airline asserts that customers should only pay for the services
they request and should not subsidize other customers needs.More so, Spirit assumes that lower fares
will stimulate the demand for air travel by attracting customers who would otherwise use other means
of transportation. Hidden fees and questionable policies are dubious distinctions of Spirit Airlines.

Margaret Atwood Film Techniques
Costume Design is one of the most important factors in the filmmaking process. A single piece of
clothing can change the audiences perception of a character. Contemporary films use costume design
in a way to create a realistic and familiar setting, while period dramas or films from another time use it
as a way to shape a character. Throughout the years, the approach to costume design has evolved but
the heart of it has never wavered. Films are affected greatly by the use of clothing and costume design,
leaving a great responsibility on the shoulders of the designer. (Mandell 2012) Costume Designers

The Threat Of Terrorist Groups Place High Value
There is substantial evidence which supports the idea that terrorist groups place high value is using
shoulder fire MANPAD weapon systems to destroy civilian jet aircraft. Successfully attacking a
civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial
aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself
which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value. While the previous post examined mitigation strategies
centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to minimize the
threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to
completely eliminate the threat, there is existing literature which offers potential strategies through a
multi layered approach.
Designing any sort of counter MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport
planners will have to convince stakeholders the potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated
or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have
cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. It must
therefore be understood that any front end investment, in millions, could likely insure continued daily
operations in the event of a planned attack and preserve billions in potentially lost revenue on the back
end.

and one major problem is that we (all the people on the planet) are using too much of our non

There are three different types of Non Renewable fossil fuels on plant earth, they are oil, coal, and
natural gas. Oil was first created by different living creatures that lived in the ocean waters, these
creatures were then buried under the oceans floor for many years. After a very long period of time the
heat from the sun and different pressure eventually started to heat up these different creatures that
were buried under layers of sediment deposits. That was how the thick substance called oil was first
formed. But deeper down into the earths crust the same thing happened but it eventually formed
natural gas . After a long period of time passes, the oils and natural gas that is formed eventually
works its way up through the earths surface into rock formation called cap rocks . From these cap
rocks we get most of our natural gas and oil today. The last non renewable energy is coal, we use coal
to do things like heat up our homes. Coal was created almost the same way as natural gas and oil. Coal
is created by many different kind of plants like ferns and trees that existed many many years ago. Coal
is also formed by swamps that were located in the eastern part of the united States that were covered
by sea water. a big problem is that this sea water contained a lot of sulfur. So when this coal that has

Gender Roles Are The Way People Act
Gender in Baby Daddy TV show, Essay
Gender roles are the way people act, what they do and say, to express being a girl or a boy, a woman
or a man. These characteristics are shaped by society, (Gender Roles) These roles constitute the
standards of the society and they are transmitted from one generation to another by education.
Children learn these standards since their birth. Parents teach them how to act, to say and to behave
according to their sex. Also, children learn the gender roles from other sources like school,
neighborhood and television. Actually, television is playing a significant role in the education of
people. From different programs presented on television, children acquire many knowledge about how
to live, to speak and to behave according to the roles attribute to men and women. In the USA, Baby

The Bitch Manifesto By Joreen Freeman
Feminist Movements started long before 1960, with the advancement of women earning the right to
vote. However, it did not stop with that change. There were many other items that the women in
history hoped to change, not only to better their own lives, but also the women of the future. With the
use of many documents, such as flyers, letters, and boycotts, women of the past changed many
different aspects of life for women in the world today. Boycotting the Miss America Pageant in 1968
and 1969, circulating flyers around America, was just the beginning of this second movement. They
also used to write to convey their thoughts. One of which was titled The Bitch Manifesto and was

Kiss And Run Fusion
Kiss and Run vs Full Fusion cell cycling at small hippocampal neurons
The highly important transmission of neurotransmitter at chemical synapses was found to be within
small vesicles (Katz, 1969) that fuse to the presynaptic membrane and then get recycled back into the
neuron. However, the methods of fusion and recycling are still being debated today, particularly at the
locality of small hippocampal neurons which typically contain around 30 functional vesicles (A. M.
Aravanis1, n.d.). The full collapse fusion method (reese, n.d.) is widely accepted and describes the full

This provides a fluoresces signal when the lumen of the vesicle is exposed to the external medium.
The results showed firstly that whatever the fate of the vesicle, the quantal size for retrieval remains

fast kiss and run method with a selective fusion pore, a slow (8 21 s) compensatory mode; and a
stranded mode of recycling, in which a vesicle is left on the cell surface until a nerve impulse triggers
its retrieval. We have also observed that, in response to a nerve impulse, synapses with low release
probability primarily use the kiss and run mode, whereas high release probability terminals
predominantly use the compensatory mode of vesicle retrieval. Further work with the use of
synaptophlourin emerged with the combining of pH sensitive GFP (MEISENBOCK, n.d.)to
synaptophysin a synaptic vesicle protein to from syPhy (lagnado, n.d.) however, during these

Honor In A Few Good Men
How do you react to intense pressure situations? Do you crack, break down and give in to what you re
being asked to do, or do you stand stall and stay true to your own values you think are right and
wrong. The film A Few Good Men released in 1992, it was produced by Castle Rock Entertainment
and was directed by Rob Reiner with star actors such as Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. In the movie,
two marines, named Dawson and Downey were ordered to perform a code red on Private Santiago. He
was a weaker marine that they feared for his safety. They follow the order and actually kill him. Tom
Cruise, a military lawyer, and his team get the task of trying to get these two men off of murder.

Dawson and Downey both talk about their code of honor which was Unit, Core, God, and country.
Well, they both took this to heart. We can see how they react when being questioned by, Tom Cruise,
Lt. Daniel Kaffee in the movie. Kaffee thinks the men are very stubborn and stupid their responses. At
one point he even says, this code of honor of yours really makes me want to beat the shit out of
someone. This shows what the code of honor really meant to these men. When you can find something
in your life that you respect that much, that is how you will act. The Marine Corps was these men s
home, and whatever order they were given, even the code red, they were sure to do it, so they wouldn t
let the anyone down. In their minds, performing the code was red was the right thing to do. We tend to
think as a group so humans don t have to think on their own. Think as the Marine Corps as the big
group. Dawson and Downey now don t have to think for themselves anymore. They do whatever is
asked. That is why when the code red is ordered, there was no second guessing, they just did it,
because that is what the Marines instilled in

The Human Spirit In The Moon Is Down By John Steinbeck
Everyone, including some of the greatest and strongest beings known to mankind, has the ability to
overcome and stay strong in the midst of adversity. This strength and backbone of the soul is the
human spirit. The human spirit allows for the ability of overcome and remain strong in the midst of
adversity. In the novel The Moon is Down, the play Antigone and in the poem Invictus, the human
spirit gives the characters the ability to overcome oppression and have strength. Although each work is
set in a different era, the strength of the human spirit remains prevalent. The human spirit gives
individuals the ability to have determination and display strength in the midst of adversity and
oppression; both of which are exemplified throughout the life of every individual. In the novel The
Moon is Down by John Steinbeck, the townspeople demonstrate the power of human spirit through
their active resistance against the invading soldiers. At the beginning of the novel, the town is invaded
by Nazi soldiers, and the townspeople are caught off guard. Despite the fact that the Nazis believe the
townspeople will openly accept them, the townspeople do the opposite and actively resist their orders.
The first act of rebellion against the soldiers, which inspired many of the other townspeople to also
stand in opposition to the invaders, occurs when, From the doorway came the sound of an angry
woman s voice, and a thump and a man s cry. Joseph came scuttling through the door. She s thrown

Dance In Canada Essay
Dance is the word that is broadly that used to define a human behavior characterized by expressive
movements of the body. It is the grace, artistry, and classicality and precision that distinguishes ballet
from other dance styles. People have danced for many different reasons such a religious,
entertainment, tribal rituals, exercise or to simply to express something that cannot find voice in
words. For as long as people inhabited Canada, there has been dance and it has subsequently played a
role throughout Canadian history. In Canada dance history began with indigenous dance of First

In the creation of the National Ballet Company, an artistic director had to be carefully selected as this
position must be filled by someone with extensive professional experience in ballet. The artistic
directors job in to help shape new visions, provide inspired leadership and contribute to the strategic
direction of the company. During this time period Toronto Boris Volkoff created another up and
coming dance company and may have been willing to accept the challenge of leading a better
financially resourced local company such as the National Ballet, but he was overlooked in favor of a
woman named Celia Franca. She was an incredibly gifted dancer, ballet mistress (woman who directs
and teaches and rehearses dancers in a ballet company) and an up emerging choreographer imported
from London. Franca was the NBC s founding artistic director. She successfully ran the company for
twenty three years, over which time the company developed it character that is strongly rooted in
classical ballet yet still embraces up and coming modern works. The National Ballet Companies

Recruitment Of Store Clerks At The Store
Through my personal observations, one of the areas to ongoing effectiveness is the attentiveness of
store clerks to assist a customer in locating a department or product in the store. In observing the
behaviors of the store clerks on several occasions, they were always friendly, neatly dressed,
knowledgeable about their departments, and willing to engage in conversations with the customers.
My observations were positive in the attitudes and behaviors of the store employees in several
encounters with them. The employees were productive, made certain the store was clean and neat,
engaged with the customers, and provided assistance when approached. These actions demonstrated
how employees adequately align and fit with the organization s ... Show more content on

strategic thinking, and customer service (D. Bailey, personal communication, January 20, 2017).
Through morning huddles, employees are encouraged to submit new ideas for actively engaging with
customers and make suggestions for improving a shopper s experience within the store. Therefore,
employees can tap into the ownership tendencies with requests for new ideas and suggestions. In fact,
taking ownership can lead to upper level management position opportunities for entry level
employees. An employee s talent, commitment and accomplishments can lead to important career
objectives and a potential to become a manager. Second, trust, engagement, and ownership can make
certain many valuable policies, practices, and behaviors, such as collaboration, collocation, and team
based efforts. From my observations, witnessing teams of employees collaborating within each
department from different backgrounds and different responsibilities has shown that employees have
high morale and camaraderie. For example, I observed employees assisting customers with their
purchases while their coworkers had to step away from the departments to either take a lunch break or

Analysis Of The Play Everyman
The play Everyman , was written in the late 15th century and is the only play that is based totally on
morality. The play is meant to look at moral lessons and is written about a person, no one even knows
his name, who is standing for all men and looks at the journey of his life. This play has a lot of
different characters that come and go out of Everyman s life. Characters that he wants to go on his
journey, but they are not able to go. This play offers some humor as well, which may hard to tell when
reading it. One of them is when Everyman tries to make a deal with the Devil for his life, which does
not turn out well. Everyman has been compared to different plays including Mankind and Youth.
(Tanner 1991). Both plays also deal with the journey of life from youths to their death. It has also been
compared to Pilgrim s Progress , which is a novel, that looks at humanity and religion and how the
death of Jesus can wash their sins away. (Adu Gyamfi and Schmidt 2011, 265). Everyman also has a
similar theme with Dance of Death , which looks at the black death and plaques in England and
France in the fourteenth and fifteenth century (Moran 1972, 324). This of course was a very hard
death and was used for retribution of sins. Everyman was not like that at all.
The play starts with the messenger coming and telling us what to look for in our lives and not commit
any sins, so in the end God will be there. Then God comes in and speaks. He is telling us that
Everyman has left

What You Should Read this Summer (While You Still Have the Chance) The summer is a great time to
relax and catch up on your leisure reading before the busy semester takes ahold of you. But what
should you read this summer?
During the semester I m always loaded down with textbook reading, essays and studying for exams
which means I never have time to read for pleasure, or at least not that often. So over the summer I
always try to pack in as much fun reading as I can. So here are some of the books I ve either read this
summer or am planning on reading this summer that have the ability to transport me to a world void of
anything related to education but which still are great books to check off my list.

A Book That Is So New And Fresh On The Literary Scene
Reading a book that is so new and fresh on the literary scene that even the professor has yet to finish
reading it is something that I don t encounter very often on college courses that often have a tendency
to focus on books that are at least ten years old. In addition to this novel being so new, it was also
special in the fact that it took place in the area that we are studying it in. This gives the class the
opportunity to talk about the piece in the way that they can really relate to, and this is only more true
when the author of the book is able to come and speak with the class. So with these things being taken
into consideration, being able to read and analyze this book in this class is definitely a notable
opportunity. Reading this specific piece of creative nonfiction is a perfect example of how much of a
privilege getting a college education as a top tier university truly is. This book is part of the
longstanding American tradition of men to write about their experiences in nature. It is important to
note how important nature is in the scope of American literature. The ability for a person the retreat
into nature is what makes differentiated American life and the books based on it from the European
country that it gained independence from. This nature writing was revitalized by Transcendentalists
such as Emerson and Thoreau who normalized the narrative of the everyman being able to go into
nature and learn about himself and the environment that he is a part of.

  • 2. Tragic Definitions Mary cannot be blamed for being introduced to morphine and Tyrone cannot be condemned for his poor Irish upbringing. However, Tyrone chose to postpone dealing with his son s tuberculosis until it was too late, which put a strain on their relationship. And, Mary voluntarily chastises her sons as a means to distract from her erratic behavior causing a riff in their relationships. The Tyrones are the writers of their own tragedy. They cannot blame anyone but themselves for the sorry sight that is their reality. In Eugene O Neill s Long Day s Journey Into Night, the characters have no control over the obstacles they face, but it s their use of deceit and aversion tactics in dealing with their state of affairs that defines their tragic fate. They may try to face their problems but not to an extent of actually resolving anything. It s as though the family believes but ignoring their problems they are better helping the family, yet it is this that leads to the family s breaking of bonds. The Tyrones make themselves out to be prisoners of their pasts by using excuses to cover up their faults which ultimately lead to their failed relationships. They take no responsibility in helping Mary yet constantly complain about how her addiction has affected the family. Their lives are tragic but they are the sole writers of their tragedy. The Tyrones continually use their circumstances as a patsy for the failed familial relationships that are caused by their deceitful nature. • 3. Cost Of Professional Sports Essay Professional sports in the United States have served as a staple for consumer entertainment for over a century, while at the same time providing a sense of unity that a community can rally behind. When an owner wants to acquire or create a new franchise, they rely heavily on the surrounding community to help fund and support its creation. While many of these individuals have adequate funds to do this on their own, they argue that the community will reap a large expense of the reward from establishing a team and push the burden of large fixed costs on the community. Due to the unpredictable demand for professional sports, do the costs associated with a franchise outweigh the assumed risks placed on a community? When a professional sports team decides to move to a city, several factors are analyzed and required before their arrival. One of the more important decisions made is where will the team play? Accounting as one of the greatest expenses, constructing an arena or stadium is a fixed cost taken on by a local government and its community. The Strategies of Globalization and Regionalization Globalization and Regionalization: As a concept that has become common since the 1990s, globalization is described as the technological, economic, cultural, ideological, and economic changes across borders. It can also be regarded as the transformation of the global economy through the anarchy of financial markets or a technological revolution with social impacts. In contrast, regionalization is the growth of societal integration within a specific area that incorporates all the undirected procedures of economic and social interactions among the units in the region. Since these concepts are different in nature, they contain various strategies that are only effective in specific situations. Strategies of Globalization and Regionalization: The concept of globalization has become a prevalent phenomenon in the past two decades because of the changes it has brought and the adoption of its strategies by multinational corporations or companies. The economic changes of globalization include the strengthening of economic inter dependence, internationalization of production, and enhanced mobility of transnational corporations. On the other hand, trade liberalization, privatization, and deregulation are the ideological changes emanating from this concept. It s our own vulnerability of our potency and masculinity projected as our need to subjugate from another person... Gary Ross s breakdown of the age defying constructions of race and sexism exemplify how fabricated standards can take a toll on the well being of individuals. American novelist Toni Morrison is renowned for her publications illustrating how racial stigma can dent a character physically, mentally and emotionally. Sweetness , an excerpt from God Help the Child, one of Morrison s more recent works, follows the narrative of a guilt stricken mother who allowed society s predetermined notions of race interfere with her parenting, as her daughter was undeniably black while she and her husband have negro roots but are lighter skinned or high yellow . As the story develops, it is obvious that the narrator, Lula Ann s mother feels some sort of resentment for mistreating her child and holding her back from experiencing a blissful childhood like other youngsters, but is too shameful to admit it. With time, tables turn and Lula Ann, Lula Mae s daughter is able to regain her self esteem, moves away, builds a career, and is preparing to settle down with a family of her own and change her miserable fate given to her by her parents. • 18. Reality Tv Social Aspects Madi Fisher Media and Society Paper 1 Social Aspect of Television Socialization is a fundamental aspect in the life of relatively every human. In the absence of having the ability or strength to interact socially, we tend to steer away from social norms and isolate ourselves. One may consider that watching television correlates with the effects of anti socialization although, one may argue that is not the case. Television is a form of socialization that provides common ground for people to bond over, allows those lacking a social life to create their own social word, and provides an environment for conversation. Taking a look at our society today, television is a dominant way in which humans bond and interact with one another. According to Susan J. Douglas, Reality TV came to replace, in particular, the lineup of TV news magazines that had dominated various network schedules in the 1990s. (p. 632). Having a wider array of reality television gives viewers an immense relationship or connection with the characters. Douglas then states, ...The structure of the show invites us to empathize with them, judge them, or both. (p. 633). Speech and Deception in John Milton s Paradise Lost Essay Speech and Deception in Milton s Paradise Lost Rhetoric and sophistry testify to the fact that the world in which we live is a world of speech, that the clever man can compose at will in order to trick others. 1 Speech was perhaps the most important medium for Milton. As a blind poet, his lack of visual faculties was augmented by a renewed importance on auditory paths to enlightenment, especially the communicative. Therefore, contemplation of dialogue in Paradise Lost becomes an essential tool for developing a correct understanding of the characters, as Milton would have intended. In addition, here, as throughout much the poem, Satan continues to hedge the other side of the argument, insisting that he isn t forced to do evil by opposing God, but that to do ill our sole delight (160). This belief that he has a choice in the matter is tied up in the misconception that he was, and continues to be, equal to God, as reason hath equall d (248) them. Quite to the contrary, Milton makes it clear that the will And high permission of all ruling Heaven Left him at large to his own dark designs (211 3). And it is only Satan s perverted sense of reason that convinces him that The mind is its own place, and in itself Can make a Heav n of Hell, a Hell of Heav n (254 5). He believes that his reason and contemplation will help him discover How overcome this dire Calamity (189), or failing that, change his will such that it fits his current circumstance. This is the classic method of the delusional and disenfranchised, holding out hope for change, but at the same time putting forth the belief that the current situation can actually be beneficial. The sophistry has shown through Satan s speech, as he declares that there is no way for God to beat him, in his mind, when we know he is already defeated. Perhaps even more telling are the conversations Satan has with himself. Modern thinkers rightfully consider of great importance the times when man speaks to parts of his own ... As Jan Lundius and Mats Lundahl stated in their book Peasants and Religion: A socioeconomic study of Dios Olivorio and the Palma Sola Movement in the Dominican Republic: In February 1822, the Haitian president, Jean Pierre Boyer; gained control of the entire island of Hispaniola without resistance, at the head of a 12,000 man invading army. The Haitians were to stay until 1844, when the Spanish speaking population which had revolted the year before proclaimed the free and independent Dominican Republic (Lundahl pg. 425). This was a very radical occupation, where Boyer attempted to reshape the Dominican Republic to how he thought it should be. One of his largest projects, was the confiscation of church and immigrant lands, and subsequently its redistribution. This, coupled with the destruction of large plantations, created a peasant class for the first time in the Dominican Republic. • 23. Visibility In Macbeth Essay The question of visibility in Shakespeare s Macbeth, doesn t quite abide by the same straightforward literal invisibility as found in The Tempest or The Witch of Edmonton. The instances of questionable visibility in Macbeth are the hallucinations of the bloody dagger and the ghost of Banquo by Macbeth, and the hallucination of blood on her hands by Lady Macbeth. Each of these moments are moments in which the visibility of the vision is split. To the character who sees the vision it is most obviously discernible, however the vision is not necessarily visible to the audience or the other characters, thus functioning as a form of the unseen. In Scene 1, Act II, as Macbeth prepares to kill Duncan, he hallucinates a bloody dagger saying: Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand? The dagger isn t visible to the audience, i.e. it isn t written into the stage directions, but rather it is Macbeth who reveals through his soliloquy that he is seeing something that is unseen by the audience. Not only does the barrier of the seen and the unseen provide the setting for a play in which witchcraft is central, but it also allows the playwright to use it as an extra tool for influencing and driving the plot. It adds to the mystery of unnatural occurrences, evoking reactions from characters, but it also allows for a layered approach to plot development, seeing as not all the events unfold as a result of direct and open interference. The forms in which invisibility is employed vary from the literal to the symbolic, providing different roles for it in the plays. It stands at 28 1/2 inches tall and has a width of 36 1/4 inches, and for being nearly 130 years old this piece is extremely well preserved. This is an oil painting done on canvas circa 1888, that depicts the Café de l Alcazar, a place where van Gogh often ate his meals, and watched as the walls of this building slowly filled with prostitutes and vagrants each night. In a letter to his brother, the night café was vibrantly explained for exactly what is seen now on the canvas. The strong linear pattern in this painting is directly related to the one point perspective used in crafting the room and the furniture in it. The floor boards are the strongest representation of the linear pattern, pushing the viewers eye diagonally back from the negative space in the bottom left corner, to lively back wall of the room that is cluttered with a bar, an open door, and fellow civilians sitting at a table. Other objects like the pool table in the middle of the room, assorted side tables and the paneling on the walls also helps to guide the eye in the same way. Successfully attacking a civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value. While the previous post examined mitigation strategies centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to minimize the threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to completely eliminate the threat, there is existing literature which offers potential strategies through a multi layered approach. Designing any sort of counter MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport planners will have to convince stakeholders the potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. There are three different types of Non Renewable fossil fuels on plant earth, they are oil, coal, and natural gas. Oil was first created by different living creatures that lived in the ocean waters, these creatures were then buried under the oceans floor for many years. After a very long period of time the heat from the sun and different pressure eventually started to heat up these different creatures that were buried under layers of sediment deposits. That was how the thick substance called oil was first formed. But deeper down into the earths crust the same thing happened but it eventually formed natural gas . After a long period of time passes, the oils and natural gas that is formed eventually works its way up through the earths surface into rock formation called cap rocks . Kiss And Run Fusion Kiss and Run vs Full Fusion cell cycling at small hippocampal neurons The highly important transmission of neurotransmitter at chemical synapses was found to be within small vesicles (Katz, 1969) that fuse to the presynaptic membrane and then get recycled back into the neuron. However, the methods of fusion and recycling are still being debated today, particularly at the locality of small hippocampal neurons which typically contain around 30 functional vesicles (A. M. In this study they use a pH sensor of exocytosis and endocytosis, a fluorescent protein that reports fusion and retrieval of vesicles synaptophluorin. developed by meisenbock and colleagues. This provides a fluoresces signal when the lumen of the vesicle is exposed to the external medium. The results showed firstly that whatever the fate of the vesicle, the quantal size for retrieval remains unchanged. They suggest that there are three modes of vesicle retrieval from their findings; firstly, the fast kiss and run method with a selective fusion pore, a slow (8 21 s) compensatory mode; and a stranded mode of recycling, in which a vesicle is left on the cell surface until a nerve impulse triggers its retrieval. We have also observed that, in response to a nerve impulse, synapses with low release probability primarily use the kiss and run mode, whereas high release probability terminals predominantly use the compensatory mode of vesicle retrieval. • 48. Analysis Of The Play Everyman The play Everyman , was written in the late 15th century and is the only play that is based totally on morality. The play is meant to look at moral lessons and is written about a person, no one even knows his name, who is standing for all men and looks at the journey of his life. This play has a lot of different characters that come and go out of Everyman s life. Characters that he wants to go on his journey, but they are not able to go. This play offers some humor as well, which may hard to tell when reading it. One of them is when Everyman tries to make a deal with the Devil for his life, which does not turn out well. Everyman has been compared to different plays including Mankind and Youth. (Tanner 1991). Both plays also deal with the journey of life from youths to their death. It has also been compared to Pilgrim s Progress , which is a novel, that looks at humanity and religion and how the death of Jesus can wash their sins away. (Adu Gyamfi and Schmidt 2011, 265). Everyman also has a similar theme with Dance of Death , which looks at the black death and plaques in England and France in the fourteenth and fifteenth century (Moran 1972, 324). This of course was a very hard death and was used for retribution of sins. Everyman was not like that at all. The play starts with the messenger coming and telling us what to look for in our lives and not commit any sins, so in the end God will be there. Then God comes in and speaks. He is telling us that Everyman has left ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. A Book That Is So New And Fresh On The Literary Scene Reading a book that is so new and fresh on the literary scene that even the professor has yet to finish reading it is something that I don t encounter very often on college courses that often have a tendency to focus on books that are at least ten years old. In addition to this novel being so new, it was also special in the fact that it took place in the area that we are studying it in. This gives the class the opportunity to talk about the piece in the way that they can really relate to, and this is only more true when the author of the book is able to come and speak with the class. So with these things being taken into consideration, being able to read and analyze this book in this class is definitely a notable opportunity. Reading this specific piece of creative nonfiction is a perfect example of how much of a privilege getting a college education as a top tier university truly is. This book is part of the longstanding American tradition of men to write about their experiences in nature. It is important to note how important nature is in the scope of American literature. The ability for a person the retreat into nature is what makes differentiated American life and the books based on it from the European country that it gained independence from. This nature writing was revitalized by Transcendentalists such as Emerson and Thoreau who normalized the narrative of the everyman being able to go into nature and learn about himself and the environment that he is a part of. ...
